My son and I went to try it out and it was really good. It was our first time here and we'll definitely be back. Great customer service. The environment is very calm. And the food is delicious. I got the special of Mushroom and zucchini with chicken with steamed white rice. The portion sizes are huge so you're definitely getting your money's worth. My dish was packed with so much flavor and the mushrooms and zucchini were so soft and tender. The perfect amount of chicken and the steamed rice was perfectly cooked. My son got the sliced medium rare beef noodle soup served with rice noodle, green and red onion and some cilantro. I tasted his soup and it had a well balanced flavor of everything. You can definitely taste the onion and cilantro in the broth but it was not overwhelming at all, it was really good. Overall I would definitely recommend you try this place.

We ordered the appetizer spring rolls (w/ only shrimp and no cilantro). We first ordered our drinks. We are both lemon/ lime water lovers, so that's what we chose to start w/. Unfortunately, the water that was brought to us had a very unpleasant chlorine taste. After I got the waiters attention, he apologized and asked me if I'd like bottled water instead. I thanked him and agreed to the bottled water. To my pleasant surprise, he brought a fresh clean glass of ice and some limes. It was very appreciated and unexpected. After looking over the menu for a while, we each decided on a soup. She chose the meatball pho, and I ordered the house special egg noodle soup that comes w/ chicken, pork, and shrimp. It was very tasty. Especially w/ the ba'nh mi sandwich I chose to pair it w/. Overall, it was a great place, awesome customer service, and care, very accommodating, and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by and giving this Vietnamese/ Thai Restaurant a try if you're looking for some tasty food and good service. Pho #1 Vietnamese & Thai Restaurant exceeded our expectations during our recent visit. We indulged in the Pho Rau Cai and Hoänh Thánh soup, and every spoonful was a burst of flavor. The depth of the broth and the freshness of the ingredients were amazing!

While the Fried tofu and chicken lettuce wrap were enjoyable, they didn't quite steal the show as the soups did. Nonetheless, they were a decent addition to our meal.

Overall, Pho #1 impressed us with their delicious offerings and attentive service. We'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu!

A truly amazing experience. We came on a Saturday night and it wasn’t packed at all. The service was professional and friendly. For appetizers we got fried pork dumplings and tofu spring rolls, which were both awesome. The peanut sauce was a 10/10. I got the pho with flank and meatballs, which had a great flavor and the meatballs didn’t have those huge pieces of fat that you see some places, which was a relief. My boyfriend got the Vermicelli with Marinated Char-Grilled Pork and it was AMAZING. The dish is served cold with fresh cooked pork and the flavors were awesome. It tasted super fresh and savory with the mix of veggies and pork. My boyfriend and I switched meals halfway through dinner because we liked what the other had better.

This is a small out-of-the-way restaurant that from the outside doesn’t have a great curb appeal, but once you step inside, you’re in it nice, elegant atmosphere. The walls are decorated with nice artwork, and the accent, lighting and music are just outstanding for a nice relaxing meal. tonight I had the cashew nut chicken with a glass of Thai iced tea. Outstanding meal and terrific service. I highly recommend this place. Tell them that Bob sent you.

The best Thai food I’ve found in the valley! Delicious, quick, and service was good. I tried the lettuce wraps which were delicious and the Tofu Pad Thai was really good and a large serving so I had leftovers to take home.

Used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Harlingen. My last experience I found a very suspicious looking hair in my plate. (Yes clearly one of "those" hairs)
The apathy I received from the management considering my concern. Disturbing.. that told me everything I needed to know they do not need my business.

I ordered there spring rolls and pork fried rice. They threw literally just 1 romaine lettuce into my to go box which cause it to wit from the heat of the rolls. The size of the lettuce was a finger lol. It was so bad no sauce and little protein in rice. I tipped which I shouldn't have. Honestly McAllen has the best 👌 food

Don’t let the outside fool you! Very nice inside; very pretty, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The food was excellent— I loved the fried rice — fresh and smooth flavor; and the fried Tofu Sandwich topped with veggies. I also enjoyed the vanilla Boba tea (not too sweet but still delicious!) and they have a wide variety of flavors. The Pho#1 was also very good. Reasonably priced — the only drawback being an extra 3.99% charge for credit. All in all a clean, tasteful, finely decorated restaurant, with excellent food and good prices.

Absolutely terrific. I was craving this style of cuisine but could not find anyone who is signed up with delivery services except *drumroll* PHO #1. The food is fairly priced, large portions and incredibly delicious. I’m so happy I found them on the Favor App! I was able to have it delivered and they also give you all your cutlery and everything so you’re ready to eat. Love it.

My favorite place to get chicken and beef Pad Thai. I can't speak about any other items on the menu, but their pad thai is delicious.

Pho was good gyoza not so much asked for steamed and bit into a half frozen gyoza, other than that pho was decent got flavor but wish had more add ins

Nice bowl of pho. Thankfully because it's about the only you will find in the area. Service was attentive . Atmosphere was.clean and lively. I forgot to try the Bahn mi I'll have to go back.

Really good food! I'm so glad to have a solid Vietnamese/Thai place to go to. I'm a sucker for their chargrilled pork. Their menu makes me want to come back and try new tasty things.

I doubt you'll read a PHO review from someone who has traveled and eaten PHO as often as I have. I'm not bragging it's just fact. I review about half the places I go and I've reviewed a few dozen places around North America.

I didn't try the other couple PHO places in this town but for the price... this Pho is for sure above average from what Ive experienced.

I had the classic Pho Tai.

GOOD portion size, properly pre cooked noodles with proper amount of noodles, and a good amount of meat as well. The broth although not perfect in my opinion, is not to be considered unflavored as perhaps another reviewer mentioned. It was salted just right.

I'd say their execution here of the Pho dish is above average. I wish they had Thai basil but they did provide a healthy portion of cilantro on the side.

Again, for the money... easily above average. No shame here. Good parking and quick service too.

1st pic is the normal bowl, 2nd pic is their extra large. To me the extra large is not big enough and does not justify the cost. If you want lots buy two regular bowls in my opinion.

Smells of fabuloso when you walk in, not my favorite while I eat. Strong odors like this do not enhance tasting food, it detracts. Pho was done well, egg roll was good, the pork Bahn mi not so good, the flavor was just too sweet and soy, nothing special, and the bread was not good. Looked like a Pepperidge farms hoagie from HEB. A bolillo would have been fine, this bread was junk. For $8 bucks it was a waste. I wouldn't give it a second try just because of the fabuloso. Big pass for me.

Haven't been in years and today this place is super busy. There's more staff , more customers, more takeout...just more everything. Food was served hot!!! Definitely much improved.....portions are back to the way they used to be....slight increase as expected but it's 80% full after 7pm!!!!!

I believe the food would be great. It smelled amazing in there. I ordered Phò and it had a different flavor them in use to, but it was good enough to eat but not what I was craving. I'll be back to try some other things on the menu.

No chili peper sauce you know the one with oil and seeds ? They gave hot sauce my soup was plain you can taste the chicken like it was just boiled with no flavor

Erica my server, for the two times I was there, was very friendly and an awesome server. Fast and friendly, she was very patient with us and would stop by every minutes to make sure we have every thing we ordered and if we needed refills for our beverages. Pho was very favorful and absolutely delicious, just wish there was some thai basil available to put in my bowl of pho. I would definitely come back if I am ever back in Harlingen.

Fantastic vegetarian broth pho, pad thai with shrimp and fried egg banh mi sandwich. We enjoyed our Friday lunch as did others, the place was full, while the food came out fast and was delicious. The music could be improved, 4 stars for atmosphere and 5 stars for food and service!

So here’s the thing - it’s clean. The waitresses are nice and attentive. ✔️
But, in my opinion, it’s overpriced for the flavors they serve. (I’ve eaten at several Vietnamese restaurants in different cities) We ordered the Pad-Thai which was not served with limes and I couldn’t taste the flavor of fish sauce nor tamarind. We also ordered sesame chicken which came bright red, which makes me believe they make the sauce either with ketchup, tomato paste or a sweet and sour sauce. If so, the flavors are not authentic. The tab was $75. FOR LUNCH! In Harlingen. 😱Which was a shock, but as he is ringing up tabs one cannot see the numbers he is punching in.

My husband came back home with the receipt, looked up their menu and calculated. With taxes and tip, we were yet somehow charged $13 over.

It wasn’t my first time here. I’ve never ordered the pho, which seems to be the most popular dish, so I can’t comment on that. But I won’t be returning.

Needs only one thing- Tom Kha soup. Owner won’t because he does not like it. But they do have other Thai dishes.

I found this restaurant this year by searching vietnamese food nearby online. It is the best Vietnamese food restaurant I have been to in the valley. They also have Thai food. The service and atmosphere are great. I would visit again.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is excellent. The food was excellent, and the service was excellent. Great Thai and Vietnamese food. I will be going back. Prices are very reasonable at our dishes came with free tea. We will be going back.

The Pho soups are worth it. (We paid over $30 for what we got this place is overpriced) However, we ordered a vermicelli dish that was dry and without sauce. We also ordered the Happy family plate. Usually order to go and it is always delicious and satisfying. Favorite pho to order is veggie pho (cabbage, broccoli, carrots, onions, bean sprouts, cilantro, Jalapeño slices) with beef broth.

Lacking flavor and bad service

I used to love ordering from Pho #1, but I recently ordered Pad Thai for pickup and got food poisoning in return. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure not everything on the menu is gonna do that to you, but I don’t know if I’ll be getting that again after this occurrence. It just didn’t seem fresh, although it was served warm.

Pho #1 is such a lovely place to get Vietnamese and Thai food. I usually get the pho (#7 well done meat on the menu) and it never dissapoints. The tea is surprisingly good and is a nice treat to your meal, highly recommended. Their staff is usually super attentive and kind during your dining experience. The calm and relaxing atmosphere makes the experience all the more unique.

Place is odd. Food isn't bad, per se, but not Thai either. Put a blindfold on me and feed me the chicken Pad Thai and I'd guess some kind of Italian chicken and linguine. Didn't come with any peanut but had white rice on the side - weird. Waitress was OK - checked on us every few minutes for the first half the time we were there - to the point of being annoying - but then dropped off the food and disappeared until we flagged her down for the check - again, just odd...

Horrible paid 20 dollars for shrimp fried rice. Rice was maid poorly and the amount was a side they would serve at a actual restaurant. The shrimp was artificial, small and falling apart with my spoon. The egg roll was 2 dollars for a mini you would finish in one bite.
