I got the vegan potstickers and tofu tempura as an appetizer, and I kid you not, these were the best Thai apps I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten at a lot of Thai places across the DMV. They were so good! I highly recommend both. Especially the honey lime mayo on top of the tempura was so unique and yum. For dinner I got the green curry with crispy tofu, which was also incredibly good. The crispiest tofu! And for dessert, of course mango sticky rice. It wasn’t on their menu officially, because they sometimes have it and sometime don’t, but I would recommend asking! cus it’s so good! They gave me SO much delicious mango, way better portion than most places. Oh and the staff are so kind and attentive. Thank you for a delicious dinner! 5/5 all around! I called at 830pm they close at 930pm. Called multiple times it just rang and rang. No one answered. My wife just decided to go there and they acted like we inconvenienced them when all we wanted to do was have Valentine’s Day dinner at home. This will be the last time we spend money at Kittiwat. Thanks for such poor class and bed side manner.

Kittiwat is always perfection. I love their food, especially the Penang curry and crab rangoons. We were there last night and our server was Ayden. We’ve had her a few times and she’s always amazing. She’s very kind and patient with us. I highly recommend Kittiwat!

I recently visited this restaurant, and I have to say, it was a huge disappointment. The food was completely flavorless—no seasoning, no creativity, just bland and overpriced. It’s hard to believe they charge what they do for food that tastes like it came from a microwave. To make matters worse, the service was painfully slow. Our server seemed disinterested and didn’t even bother to refill our water. It felt like they were doing us a favor by even serving us at all.

Honestly, this place is overrated. Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews—it's just not worth your time or money. If you’re looking for something better, I’d highly recommend Sumittra in downtown Frederick. The food there is night and day compared to this place. Stay away from this one unless you want to be let down. A new name for this place? "Shitty Bites" would be fitting.

Really nice restaurant for Thai! I had Pad Pakk with extra vegetables and it was really good! The vegetables still had some crunch which is always good. My friend had Tom Yum Soup with tofu. It was very pretty and smelled great. She said it was VERY spicy. It did have 3 peppers next to it on the menu. The reason for the 4 stars for atmosphere was the dining room( which was next to the door) was chilly. Overall, very good lunch!

We were regulars at Kittiwat when they first opened, but lost the habit during the COVID era. We returned here last week, and it was excellent. The menu seems a bit pared down, but the food is still wonderful and varied. The service was among the best-- our server was both friendly and professional, and balanced the amount of attention just right-- not too intrusive, but always checking on us at exactly the right time. I do like the new decor: the new furniture is comfortable and absorbs excess sound that the old furniture used to cause to echo which made quiet conversation easier. In all, I wish we had come back to Kittiwat sooner. We're certain to be regulars again from now on.

I have never eaten in person at this restaurant but have ordered Doordash about ten times. Everytime the food is delicious. Their ability to maintain quality each time is incredible. I feel it is very authentic (though I've never been to Thailand). The spice isn't just hot, it's a complex flavor. Everything on the menu is delicious but I especially love the Drunken Noodles and the Curry Puffs!

I ordered from door dash and items were missing. The food was also cold. The price of the fried rice at $19 is astronomical for the portion size. Actually all of their prices are not justified by taste or portion. I am assuming positive reviews are from individuals not accustomed to authentic thai cuisine. When I attempted to get the manager on the phone to connect them to door dash to verify the issue they hung up. I attempted to call back before closing and I kept getting a recording. Overall subpar food and customer service.

2024-Stopped by for dinner on a weeknight. They had just updated the interior in September 2024, and it looks great. Casual and cozy. Drunken noodles were medium hot with a nice flavor. Pad Thai was nice and a generous portion.

Love their vegan pad thai so much. It has more depth of flavor than a lot of pad thai in the area does when made vegan. Lots of fresh veggies in it as well. Their vegan pot stickers and thai ice tea is also delicious.

We've been going here for a few years as our go-to Thai restaurant in the area and I must say the staff is always friendly, the food is excellent with the herbal chicken being our family favorite, someone always gets it every time we go or order online.

We visited around dinner time on a weekday, and although there were a few customers, we were promptly seated and greeted by the friendly and attentive staff.

We started with a sampler platter of appetizers, which was phenomenal, setting a high bar for the rest of the meal. I also ordered the Pad See Ew, and it was wonderful—served hot and quickly, with every bite being absolutely divine. The service was efficient, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was notable.

With plenty of parking available out front, Kittiwat Thai Kitchen stands out as one of the top dining experiences I've had in Frederick. We were truly glad we chose this place for dinner and would definitely dine here again!

We came in with a group of 8 and decided to grab a drink before we got seated. What im assuming is a manager told us no and refused to make us drinks because he was overwhelmed. There were 6 of the 12 tables being serviced. Including him, 3 servers. How are you this overwhelmed? Im so confused. So all that to say, unless its slow, the service sucks.

There were three waiters in the restaurant and only three tables of customers. No one offered water until we asked. We also got ignored while eating. No idea what the waiters were tied up to. Zero star for service.

This Little Thai gem is fantastic! My wife and I stopped on our way home from Vacation. We tried the Crispy Rolls and Curry Puff for an appetizer. They were delicious! The Key Lime Martini was amazing. We both had the Pad Roasted Cashew Nut was fantastic! You will not be disappointed and will leave with a full belly if not a take home portion.

The wings were very fatty the proportion was not even 1 flat and 4 fatty wings also the wings were not seasoned I ordered my sauce on the side. No napkins or folks in the bag! Prices are still high false advertisement!

The food was above average in taste,but the portions weren't big enough, one of the meals we tried was little salty. The employees weren't rude,but no one came to check on us or ask us if we want anything, had to ask someone to come over so I can pay my bill. Placed pickup order via Uber Eats about ten or fifteen minutes after they opened. While we were waiting I looked around at the minimal but tasteful decor, and the presentation of the dishes seemed impressive. We got the order right on time, and took it home, and as I was about to get out of the car, saw that they called (but did not leave a voicemail). Tried calling them back and hit voicemail, then immediately tried again, and got through. Turns out they gave us someone else's order by accident (and of course we didn't think to look at the bag to check it when they gave it to us). They asked me to bring the food back, which I agreed to do, thinking they might remake my order, or maybe offer a little something free for the trouble, as my family would do at our restaurant, or many places would do. He vaguely apologized and I told him I should be back in about fifteen minutes.

When I got back there, the person I spoke with on the phone seemed to be busy, and the other woman (whose order I had), was no longer there, which means she either left already, or got her food freshly remade. My order appeared to be the original one (no indication that the receipt had been removed and re-stapled to a new bag of a remade order), which means it had now been sitting on the shelf for probably half an hour. The guy behind the bar, who had just wrapped up helping another couple, made no apology and did not offer to remake it, or throw in anything small for free for the trouble, just said "Paul? and pointed to where my food was sitting on the shelf. I put the other bag there and grabbed mine, and left.

I was NOT happy about this first-time experience; fortunately the food was okay when I got home, although portions were a good bit smaller than expected (for $17 an entrée, or $19 on Uber Eats). My family of course was also not happy about having to wait, which is a shame because we went there on the recommendation of a good friend, and were excited to try it out. I heard abt service is not good but I have experienced it today with my family. I will share this with other and never go again there. Very poor customer service.

But the service is terrible. The lady who attended us was extremely impatient and RUDE, even with my 12 years old. Unpleasant to deal. Gets irritated for every question. Once food served nobody attended to check for anything. Had to walk up to the register for togo box and check. We went around 4pm, and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Very bad experience!

Don’t waste your time here. If I could give zero stars for service I would! Came here at 1:52pm and was told seating already closed as the restaurant closes at 2:30pm. We came around to Thai table where service and food was WAY better. The manager has an attitude problem and is a liar who lied saying the kitchen closes at 2:15pm when the website says the kitchen closes at 2:30pm.

Ordered Pork Thai Fried Rice and it was amazing. Make sure you ask for the spice level of your preference in which the waitress did not.( They have 3 levels).
Quantity of rice is very small overral.

My dish was great, but my gf who wanted spicy didn't get hers spicy enough.

They do not come to check on you for water refill, that's a second time.

Other than that, great food experience.

What a fantastic surprise. I eat a lot of Thai food everywhere I go and have spent time in Thailand. Kittiwat blew me away with the taste and quality of the meal. I had the Ka Prow Kai Sub (Traditional over-rice dish w/ground chicken, basil, fresh chili, over easy fried egg and fish sauce / chili).

You will love the presentation of the Thai Iced Tea.

In my opinion it's the 2nd best Thai restaurant in the area. The dining area was never empty. Never had a bad meal. Would recommend the drunken noodles, Thai Iced tea and coffee. Stopped coming here about a year ago due to some questionable hires, practices, and service we received. Only happened once but was enough to make us want to try somewhere else.

DON’T TRUST THE RATINGS: Not sure why they were rated so high? The food included bland spring rolls, burnt dumplings, hard chicken in the Panang curry. The pad Thai was completely stuck together in one bunch and difficult to separate. All this and the dinner portions were so small but I was charged over $80 for the meal. Sorry but they lost my business. For those who think why not just address it with the restaurant, I tried but they don’t pick up.

After working up an appetite throwing axes, we decided to get some Thai food. The servers were quick and nice. The crispy rolls (lumpia) were on point. I ordered the pad thai which was pretty mid. The crispy pork belly (Mhoo krob) was more fat than meat and the skin was extra hard. The pad Thai itself was more vinegary than savory peanuty. My wife got the fried rice and the flavor was good but the rice wasn’t really fried more soggy. This unfortunately didn’t hit the spot for me.

The panang curry is a level 2 on their scale and I like spicy, feel like it was the perfect level. My partner got the Pumpkin Curry which is level 3. I loved the chunks of pumpkin but he thought there was too many. Think its up to personal preference, obviously! The spice level 3 was hotter than my 2 level but still manageable and delicious. I didnt know how to do the iced tea since it came descontructed🤣 but once i figured it out, it was delicious. I like that they give it to you that way so you can do it to taste. The curry puffs were light and delicious. I definitely want to go back and try other menu items. We went on a sunday evening and there was business but not busy enough that we had to wait. They also have outdoor seating and a bar.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve had, coast to coast, in the past decade. Every dish was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. The iced coffee and tea were tasty, but also clever and fun (you'll see). I had zero expectations coming in and was blown away by the food AND amazing staff.

We were passing through at the end of a long road trip with kids, tired and very rough around the edges, and we could not have been more grateful for the staff's thoughtful kindness. They're so cool. And the food!

Pathetic service from their servers. Avoid eating there and getting served from these servers as they show attitude and treat you like hell. Food is decent.

We were just visited the restaurant though was the food was good but the service from ROD( guy with white flowers shirt) was worst. His facial expressions, attitude, way of replying back, way of addressing the customer was disgusting.
We found a hair in the main course and felt very disappointed even though they replaced the dish. But this guy response was really bad.
I did not write any TIP because of my experience but this guy ROD followed and asked why there was not tip. I patiently replied about the experience he did not feel sorry about it, but his expression and body language is worst. DONT EVER VISIT THIS PLACE WHRN THIS GUY IS AROUND.

I've been trying to call for 15 minutes now. We placed an order for pickup, but I got a flat tire so I don't know when I can pick it up. I don't understand why a business doesn't have a working phone or someone to pickup.

The food here is not only delicious but so thoughtfully presented that you can’t help but be excited while there.

I sat and watched as eyes widened across the restaurant each time the staff walked by delivering plates to their patrons. With each passing, I fought the urge to signal them over and say “can I get one of what you just took to that table?” — truly, I had so much on my plate (as pictured), each bite immaculate might I add.

Even after the check was signed I watched gaping as they delivered a thai basil tofu dish to the group sitting at my diagonal … eventually blurting out loud, ‘I should have gotten one of those to go’ 😩. They heard, smiled at me and I smiled in return because you know what, I’ll definitely be back!

Wow all the dishes are soooo yummy. The Thai iced tea presentation is the best I have seen. It comes with Thai iced tea ice cubes so that when you pour the ice tea in, it doesn’t dilute the tea (how thoughtful), sugar syrup, boba 🧋, and cream. The pad see mao was delish, along with the yellow curry with traditional thai tomato which you normally don’t see. Very authentic. The decor and ambiance was also aesthetic. And customer service was awesome too! And sticky rice with mango 🥭 was extra decadent

I absolutely love this place! The food is always great and the staff are wonderful. It’s a small dining room but a really nice vibe. The Pad Thai is my favorite but so far everything I have tried has been great! I also love the Thai Iced Coffee.

I love herbal chicken, pad see ew, and fried calamari. I tried the lychee duck, but it's honestly not as good as other dishes. I'd still come back for other food tho! One of the best Thai restaurants in the area.

The level 2 Panang curry with shrimp was amazing, and the staff was the best. I came here yesterday for my 21st birthday. I'm not really a fan of alcohol but the bartender made me the perfect first drink. It's definitely the place to go!!!!

Wow. Perhaps the best Thai food I have ever had. Fresh food and lots of flavor. Comfortable setting and fantastic staff.

Absolutely love the presentation of the appetizers. I would say that most Thai food places just randomly put stuff on a plate and serve it. This place takes the extra step to make things look pretty. Best part is happy hour is everyday. We had the coconut fried calamari, papaya salad, Thai dumpling, Thai tea and pineapple fried rice -medium spice ... Which was actually very spicy, but still very good. (picture not taken). I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a quick meal, affordable, and healthy. My cousin and I enjoyed this meal and spend only about 50 bucks.

FANTASTIC. Don’t sleep on this place. Solid authentic spice (so be careful). Beyond excellent drinks. Make this your next place for Thai food.

Great customer service and delicious food! Everything I tried was yummy. I especially loved the Pineapple Fried Rice and Thai Tea.

Server never offered beverages. Found out later they had a full bar menu (?). All we got was water. Took 20 minutes for her to even come to our table to ask “ready to order”? Never asked if food was ok, needed anything, etc. Never refilled the water bottle which was our main source of liquid beverage. Unfortunately first and last time dining or take out at this establishment. Also there were only two other tables occupied.

Food was really good and service was great. Our server was super friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. Decorations and wall art was super cool.

Made reservation at 1230 yesterday for party of 15 for 6:30pm. On our way called at 625pm saying we would be a little late. same girl tht took reservation nisi says no reservation and we are full. talk to her manager don't remember her name says I have to believe my employee us. We are like what do we tell our family and I can come show u the call log she says my employee didn't log reservation. Then she the managers name admits we had a big crowd come in and didn't think you guys were coming in and we just seated them. THIS PLACE IS FILLED WITH LIARS DO NOT GO HERE.

We had to switch all of family tht was driving from VA, Columbia, Germantown to another restaurant close by at last minute.

Love this place!! I can’t get enough. We drive from Leesburg to go here. Kevin ( the owner) is super nice. I have gotten to know many of the severs , Lily, Ryan and Rod, because we like to go there. Lily is so sweet and somehow ALWAYS remembers my order including the items I like to omit. I’m glad that Kevin was able to make it through Covid times, since he is a small business owner. I have tried other places, but Kittiwat is the best. There is a second location from what Lily tells me. The food is very consistent. Love it!!!!!

Awesome Thai! You can't go wrong here!

This place was really good, alot of people I noticed complain about the spiciness of the food but maybe cause I'm from Texas I didn't think the food was spicy enough lol but very very good. I had the Duck Pad Thai and Crab Rangoons. Very upscale look but very homefeel at the same time. Duck was delicious.

I ordered Ka Prow Kai Sub and it was a 3/5 spicy level, which was expected, and i love spicy food. However, the meat was overly salted. It was so salty that I couldn't eat it. Even after mixing meat with the rice, it was still way too salty. I tried eating this meal but I just couldn't. I feel like maybe the cook has salted the dish twice. Also, I'm not a fan of grapes and pineapple in the Lychee Duck. Unfortunately, I spent over $100 on my family meals, I ended up waiting for almost an hour at the restaurant, waiting for the food to be prepared. I will give this place another try, just because I love Thai food.

Plant based (vegan) review:
We ordered the fried tofu appetizer, vegan potstickers, vegan pad thai, vegan green curry and vegan pineapple fried rice.

This is not a “vegan only” spot since they also serve meat, but it’s nice to know in this part of Maryland, you can get very tasty Thai food, with an attention to detail to make accommodations.

If you are not a big tofu person, you can sub the meats for more veggies.

Spice level - usually when I go to Thai places, they ask me the spice level. Kittiwat never asked me the spice level, so upon arrival my curry was very flavorful and had a decent amount of spice, but because I like my Thai food to be spicy (napkins full of nasal drippage :x ), I ask them for the spicy powder on the side and dumped it into my green curry and that hit the spot.

Staff was very attentive and knew the details of even the simplest thing like the ingredients for the side sauce for the potstickers (black bean and soy sauce).

We used to frequent Thai House (another restaurant) until we realized that they have oyster sauce in their curries, so we are happy to find this little gem. We will be frequenting it more often.

The Thai dumplings are terrific and the apicy basil shrimp is an extremely flavorful dish.

Overall Is always a good donning experience, food is usually good. I love their curries, drinks and desserts but I got the Khua Khling Mhoo and it had half a head of raw cabbage and was missing its basil leaves and lemon grass.

First time there and loved it!! Amazing food, will definitely go back.

Best Thai food in the Frederick area.

I love most Thai restaurants, but the food was too spicy. The Pad Thai was a 4 pepper dish...In most places, it's a one 🌶. The restaurant was freezing cold. The atmosphere was a lot like McDonalds. The server claimed they were out of the only gluten-free appetizer on menu...when we said we'd do without appetizers, suddenly they found one available. There was a hair in my friend's food....terrible experience. 2 thumbs down.

We love Kittiwat! By far our favorite thai food in Frederick (and we have tried many others). We always order pickup but they still greet me when I run in to grab the food. They are quick and the portions are great! I always get the Pad Thai, and my partner gets the Cashew chicken, definitely worth your time and money!

Liked how the Thai iced tea was presented. Larb was flavorful. Tom gai was also good but would have preferred a different mushroom. Pumpkin curry was good but Pumpkin was a little too firm. Duck curry also had a good flavor but Duck was a little tough. Slicing it thinner would have helped.

Stopped by here on a whim and discovered a gem. Very tasty Thai food with a contemporary twist. The flavors were clean and crisp, not greasy or heavy. Thai fried rice with chicken, pad see ew with crispy pork, coconut calamari, fried tofu with kale and lime all delicious. Also went with the herbal chicken off the specialties menu and it was very satisfying. Service was great too, and cool decor. We don’t live in Frederick, but we’d definitely come back, we enjoyed it a lot!

I was pleasantly surprised by the vibe of Kittiwat. It’s small and has the ethos of Southeast Asia built into its decor. The food was really authentic and very true to its Thai heritage. My dishes were fresh, flavors were bold and rich, and tasted very good. Little gem of Frederick and highly recommend.

Great mixed drinks, great atmosphere. A nice balance between a family friendly restaurant and a place where you can take someone out on a date. The food is great and the wait staff is prompt and courteous. Highly recommend!!

Really disappointed in the service I experienced this evening. I have eaten at this restaurant time and time again and recommend it to so many people so to be treated poorly this evening was a complete disappointment.
My family and I called the restaurant at 8:00 pm this evening, we continued to call for 15 minutes with our calls being ignored every time. We drive to the restaurant and arrive at 8:45pm to be ignored by the staff and simply be told, “we’re closed”. We told the staff we had been trying to call in our order since 8:00pm and were simply told, “well, our kitchen closes 15 minutes before 9pm and you should’ve made an online order…” Keep in mind, the website also states you can call in a to-go order and we also wanted to make sure the place was still open since there have been times when it’s been closed and the website did not reflect these hours. Overall, the staff who was at the bar was very nonchalant and careless in his words to us and didn’t seem to care we had concerns since we have eaten at this establishment many times and are experiencing service that has progressively been going downhill. He simply shrugged his shoulders and walked away.
As of now, I will say although they have amazing food, their service has been and is progressively been getting worse. It’s disappointing to have to leave such a strongly worded review on a place we had great respect for but the experience we had was unacceptable.

Dinner was hot and delicious!!! Crab ragoons, Thai tea, and Tom kha Kai soup delicious!!!!!

Went for the first time over the weekend and it will likely be the only time. The Pad Thai was ok and good portion but just wasn't up to par as to other places I would go for that. Calamari appetizer was good. Pepper Steak was...well...steak with pepper on it. Kinda misleading and though it was ok, it had a large chunk of fat at least 20% of the size of it, and is not what one would expect of a true pepper steak at all. Broccoli was ok with it but the veggies overall were unimpressive and lacked any seasoning at all. Not worth it and came out almost 15 minutes after my wife's entree.

The worst was the Tom Yum soup. This is the single worst version of Tom Yum soup in almost 100 Thai places I've ever visited. Just sour beyond measure, way fishy, and thin. Just gross tasting and looking. Mushrooms would be better cut than whole to absorb the flavor...not that it would have helped here. They need a new recipe and that's not an underestimation. It's bad...really bad...0 of 10 on that one. Left it after just one spoon of it that I spit back out. Made my wife nauseated for over a day and I felt like vomiting from the taste alone. Enough so to take this down an extra star. Whomever made this soup needs to leave the food business and apologize to real Thai food chefs everywhere. Bottled water is a good idea to put at a table, but something was floating in it. A bug? Looked like it. Just not something to want to do again. I'll go anywhere else and it is likely to be better. Service...ok...nothing special or go out of your way for. The one waitress was more interested in chatting with the next table to the point we did want something but changed our mind since she never bothered to even look at us again.

The food is good especially the drunken noodles. The issue we faced was, they do not pick the calls. After trying, I decided to drive to the restaurant and ordered the food. They should fix this especially on the weekends.

Excellent food with nice waiters. Only minor issues I have is the comfort of their chairs. Pleas purchase bigger and more comfortable chairs. Portions are smaller than before

The food is difficult to rate because the main dish was so overly spicy that it was completely intolerable. I had to toss the whole thing, and I don’t like wasting money :(
