My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant and it's one of the best decisions we've made all month! I'm going to be detailed with this review, so bare with me. Starting with the drinks, we were offered water, and the reason why I'm mentioning this is because they gave us a pitcher of water as well! It was very convenient and came in handy. We also ordered the Thai Iced Tea, and it was super good! Don't get it, though, if you don't have a sweet tooth.
Next are the appetizers, ordered the Spring Rolls and Fried Squid. Spring rolls were crispy and delicate! The dipping sauce that comes with it was a sweet sauce with hints of orange in it. I could've drank the sauce honestly, but I held my dignity. Fried squid was fried perfectly! Not rubbery or anything of the sorts. The tempura crust was slightly sweet but very light. It's the same sauce that came with the Spring Rolls so you already know my thoughts. Would definitely order both again.
Since it was a rainy day I ordered the small Tom Yum Goong soup. It was super refreshing and absolutely hit the spot. I ended up sharing it because my boyfriend liked it so much.
Finishing off with the entrees, I ordered the Drunken Noodles and my boyfriend ordered the Roast Duck Curry. Both were pipin hot and spicy, that's for sure! I'm able to handle spice pretty well, but the dish that I ordered had me nervous. The dish itself, though, was very tasty, and I would definitely order it again. The Roast Duck Curry was absolutely delicious!! Never had Duck before, but it was very tender and prepared well. Highly recommended both dishes!!
Overall, 10/10 would definitely come here again!! Best place, hands down, to eat Thai food here in Fort Washington. The staff were pleasant and polite so that's a plus as well! Thanks for the great food, definitely sleeping well tonight.

Shortly after we sat down, a young stout woman came by to fill our water glasses. She didn’t greet us or say a word, then returned to her table to continue eating.

After deciding what to order, we waited several minutes, but no one came to take our order. I tried to catch the attention of the server who filled our waters, but she was still at the table eating and her back was to us. Another server finally noticed me and said something to her. She came over, but not before rolling her eyes.

Her demeanor was shockingly rude. She took our orders with minimal communication, grunted responses, and then snatched the menus from our hands before walking away. My husband and I were stunned at her hostility and lack of professionalism.

When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told they weren’t available, but another server apologized on their behalf. By that point, we had already decided to leave.

This restaurant has always been one of our favorites for its great food and service, but this experience was a serious letdown. Based on the unprofessional behavior of one staff member, we chose not to stay. It’s disappointing when an otherwise excellent establishment is marred by such poor customer service. Hopefully, management addresses this issue, as no one deserves to be treated this way when dining out.

So sorry to have disturbed her meal when we came in to get ours!

Hands down the best Thai food in Maryland! We've been customers for over 15 years and my parents were customers before that. The staff is super friendly, especially Gong and his sister. We always feel like family when we dine there!

Best Thai food in Prince George county. They have really good soups, vegetable entrees, rice, everything really is good. They don't always have the best customer service though. I don't want to say exactly who but most of them are nice except for someone who's always frowning even if we tip him.

Restrooms smell good and are very clean. Love that they updated their restrooms.

I received a wrong order about a week and half ago (I ordered basil fried rice with minced chicken with added broccoli for an extra cost). I got to work and opened my food and noticed it was chicken with broccoli and white rice. I called the restaurant and the lady that picked up said she didn't hear the fried rice part when I ordered. No apology. I asked if they can deliver the right food she said no and to call back anytime I want to come pick up the right order and just tell them my name. It's out of my way so I couldn't go right away. I called to order my food today. A lady picked up and connects me to a guy. He takes my order and tells me to come in 15 minutes. I asked for his name and he said Cinderella and I can hear the people in the background laughing hysterically. I asked if he's trying to be funny and he asks me in I'm discriminating. Horrible place, horrible people. Not the first time for their rude behavior but it will definitely be the last. Who knows what they are doing to the food back there.

I’m a big fan of Thai food, but I’ve been here three times, and it just doesn’t meet the mark. On top of that, it’s overpriced, and the customer service is terrible. It took over 30 minutes to get my food, and when I asked for utensils, they were rudely thrown on the table. For a place charging $17 for drunken noodles in Fort Washington, you’d expect better service. By comparison, the same dish in Arlington, VA, is only $13. Definitely not worth it. Very little meet, more noodles than anything else. Lack of flavor

So far, I’ve found this to be the ONLY Thai restaurant in the country where you have to ask for vegetables in the entrees, otherwise you just get meat and sauce… so sad!!!

Amazing food and service!

Last night, my wife sent our autistic son into Bangkok Golden to pay for our takeout order. She gave him a $100 bill to cover a $60 charge. When he returned to the car, he had only been given $3 in change. Naturally, my wife went back in to address the issue, and it was quickly resolved. However, the response from the person at the register made it feel like they saw an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. We've been loyal customers for years, but after this experience, we're not sure if we'll be returning.

Better than average Thai. Cold Thai beer. Excellent food. Average prices. Our favorite Sunday dinner.

A loyal customer in this restaurant but today its very dissapointing. A nasty server was mad and demanded an 18% tip. Shes not even our server. She has attitude since we sat on the table. She must be thankful that I still gave her 15%. Supposedly her service should only worth 5%. Not all people who ate at the restaurant are rich. This server will make this business go down.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. the waitresses was very rude didn't check on us not one time after they drop the food. they were just watching us like dogs and talking loud it was so uncomfortable to dine they gave us the check while we were still eating.

As a former loyal customer for many years I am extremely disappointed and disheartened in writing this review. My husband and I stopped here for dinner one evening. Our server came, polite as always, our food was ordered and served. As we were eating our meal we heard a female scream and then we saw her run towards the door. We turned around to see what was happening, to see her dinner mates standing on chairs and screaming “there’s a rat, there’s a rat”. My husband got up to inspect the situation and he indeed saw a rat. They asked us to move to a different table so that they could chase the rat. They continued to serve food for current and new customers. They did not seek to close the restaurant or address the situation to those seated. Although our dinner, and everyone else’s dinner was ruined we all were still expected to pay! More than the presence of rodents, the lack of urgency and casual manner of the staff was alarming. Since I cannot expect their sense of urgency to change and correct the problem I cannot return to this establishment.

If I could give them no Stars, I would say this place has terrible service. When you call, their attitude is bad customer service .I will you not to recommend this restaurant to anything one . It because they are very arrogant no business integrity, and customer service .

I love this Thai restaurant. One of the hidden gems in the DMV and it’s literally my neighbor lmao. Been my go when craving for Thai food. Pad Thai is always good, they have the bombast crispy calamari, and I also like their fried rice. Highly recommended.

When I noticed the transaction changed, I called the restaurant. They refunded the money but did NOT take ownership for the action. It's very sad that someone in this restaurant is getting away with stealing.

Use cash or scribble all over your check if use a card so they don't try to steal from you like they tried to steal from me.

Extremely disappointed!!!!! I was loyal customer at Bangkok Golden. They would usually have “okay” service and just a little bit above average food. But this will be last and final time im coming here. I ordered panang curry, drunken noodles with extra sauce, broccoli and pork belly with a side of calamari. I went in to pick up the 56.78 dollars worth of food and was greeted by a woman, I said my name and she took my card, It was raining very hard outside so It took me a minute to gather my things and get my umbrella ready, I walk all the way to the car before I realized that I didn’t have my card. I walked back in and they looked shocked that I came back. I said” did I leave my card?” one of the women working hesitated when I asked about the card but she looked over to her male co-worker and he pulled my card from an undisclosed location. I WAS SHOCKED. I got my card and left. We got home and started unpacking the food. We were met with nothing but disaster. The panang curry had the wrong meat, they didn’t give me extra sauce, so just had hot noodles for dinner, and lastly, the worst of all, my sister ordered the broccoli and pork belly, she opened it and saw NO broccoli, the food looked like something you would push off the table to the dog……scraps. Had the pad Thai and fried rice. The portions were smaller than usual.

Wanted to make a simple order of combination fried rice and a spicy basil fried rice. The young lady who took my order continuously talked over me, and would then say that I was confusing her. I would then repeat the order clearly and calmly and get the same result, this happened 3 times. I was finally allowed to speak without being interrupted, and she correctly repeated the order to me albeit with clear irritation. I politely gave her my name, and she rudely said bye and abruptly hung up. I called back,and let her know I did not like her response and would like to cancel my order. She rudely repeated that I "would like to cancel my order" and said "ok, bye" and abruptly hung up.

I'm not going to speculate as to what her issue is, although I have an idea, however I encourage ppl to only attend restaurants that value you as a customer.

Needless to say, I WILL not be ordering from this place ever again, and would encourage others to not do so as well.

Food was a $32 mediocre delight. I didn’t even finish anything. Tum Yum soup, didn’t taste much of any lemongrass, tempura vegetables were nonexistent. A sliver of a sweet potato about the size of a potato string fry, half cut green beans bathed in batter. Fried rice, I just picked out the chicken because the rice was not flavorful at all. Not sure why someone recommended this place but the service was prompt.

Very good Thai food, but the portions are barely shareable. We normally get 2-3 items and share amongst the table, but it was tough to do that with their portion sizes.

Therefore, we had to add on some mango and sticky rice for dessert :) Yum!

If you're in the area, and you have a strong desire for Thai food, this is an option. Not great, but not bad either. I've been there twice so far, and I would eat here again; in fact, I plan to go back to try a few other things. The spring rolls are very good, and there's always a generous portion of protein (chicken, shrimp, etc.) in the entree. And you don't need a microscope to find the shrimp! 😆

Bangkok Golden has been here before I arrived in the area 17 yrs ago. The Chicken Fried Rice and Tom Yum Gai soup are delicious!!! They are also quick and you have no problem getting in & out in under 1 hr. for lunch.

I thought this was the ONLY reliable place to get consistent good in Fort Washington. Unfortunately they fell short and I will no longer purchase food from them any longer. They food was always good up until the point I found hair fried into fish I ordered. Very bad taste in my mouth now. I gave 2 stars because the food was good but I can’t do unsanitary in any form. Just sharing hoping they will provide extra care with future customers and so that the public can be careful when they order.

I have picked up food from Bankok twice and on both occasions the food was fresh and delicious. Quick and fresh thai food from a very helpful and kind staff, I highly recommend Bangkok Garden.

I have had Thai food from six different restaurants including Bangkok Golden. This Thai fried rice was my least favorite or all the restaurants.

I ordered crab fried rice and chicken, beef and shrimp fried rice...no flavor. ..Great Thai fried rice is flavorful and doesn't need soy sauce or any additional condiments. Soy sauce and extra fish sauce could not help these dishes. I threw away $30 worth of food because it was inedible.

I ordered the red curry with chicken. It was tasty with mild heat. There were only six small pieces of chicken in the whole meal, which was overloaded with bamboo shoots. I’ve had better Thai red curry in a frozen meal from Costco, which had more chicken and more flavor than this. Since this is one of the very few restaurants in this area, it does not surprise me that people give it a good rating. Believe me, this restaurant is way over-rated. While the food is OK I can get better from Costco.

I had ordered drunken noodles and it was my first time trying it and it was so good. Service could be a little bit better and they are kind. I’d recommend this place to friends.
