The absolute best in the area by far! Everything is packed to the max with flavor. Pad thai & Som Tum are always perfect. All of the soups are amazing. Sweet sticky rice is always on point. I've never had any issues and they follow the spice levels perfectly. You have a loyal customer in me. As long as this place is around I won't be ordering from anywhere else. Thank you for great meal service!

Diner Review №2

I got take out that I picked up in person and it was amazing, full container, fork already inside. Just perfect. I was so excited to have found my new thai spot. Then the next week I ordered through uber eats. The container was half full and no fork. I am sitting here with no way to eat my food as I got it just before class. Please please, always include a fork - even for uber eats orders.

Ordered 1 beef, 1 crunchy pork belly. Paid $1 for peanut sauce......got 2 pork belly and no peanut sauce.

Thanks for trying, I guess????

Diner Review №8

I love this place, is it really closed?

Diner Review №9

Incredibly polite and understanding… I have some food restrictions but they did keep that in mind and yet delivered the tastiest and healthiest noodle dish. Since then I have visited frequently.

Diner Review №10

They have delicious food served by some wonderful kind people.
I hope they open back soon🙏

I ordered carry out.
Probably the best shrimp drunken noodles I've ever come across. Nice portion for the price. Finished it off with sticky rice and mango. My rule of thumb is that dessert is the one thing you shouldn't be stingy with. Maybe I was being piggish, but 3 bites is all there was(human size bites).. price to bite ratio was way off. The hostess/ cashier/ server/ bus person was very, very nice and helpful. I wasn't sure if they were getting ready to close, open up, or in between services but the place was a mess.... and the smell in the foyer killed all my olfactory for about 3 minutes. Despite the loss of smell, I actually would order from here again.

Diner Review №13

맛있어요!

Diner Review №14

food is horrible! Worst thing ive ever had! It smelled horrible and the beef tasted like its been there for a while! Would not recommend

Diner Review №15

I ordered from this place tonight. The food was average but the thing that was really unacceptable was finding two small pieces of metal wire in my food. I discovered them by biting down and almost swallowed them. The pieces of metal cut my inner left cheek. Clearly they do not prepare their food carefully at the risk of the customer, and the taste wasn't worth the price.

Diner Review №16

Although I have reviewed this restaurant, I just had to delete my old one and give them a 5 star rating. If I could, I'd give them 10 stars for the delicious and authentic food and the wonderful service they provide. I order from this restaurant so often, the owner knows my order when he sees my name and order. That definitely says something about the owner. He is really involved in the restaurant in every aspect. And the staff are awesome and are great with customer service. I had a horrible experience with my Door Dash delivery tonight and the restaurant made sure that the 2nd attempt at delivery was successful. That to me tells me what a superb job they do and that they do care. I do recommend if you order from here, please please I beg don't use Door Dash. They have been known to steal the food on a number of occasions. Order online through Rod Dee Thai's website, or use a different delivery service. Thank you Rod Dee Thai and Boy for reminding me there are good people out there. Oh and order the Ka Pow with chicken, Thai tea, and pretty much anything on the menu. . It's mouth watering good 😊

Diner Review №17

Vegan food options. Gentle staff. Chill atmosphere. Good music.

Diner Review №21

The food was not fresh. I order non spicy and got VERY spicy. The service over the phone was if they were being bothered tone. It's a very small restaurant in bad need of up grade on decor. We ordered and took our food to go.

I’ve ate here twice service and food were fantastic the first time. Second time (about a month later) food was okay and service was sub par. Will get it another try.

Diner Review №24

Stopped in on my way to work. The atmosphere was definitely a diamond in the ruff. The waiter that took my order was really sweet and quite helpful as I was deciding on what to order. I got the veggie gyoza and fish patties as well as some yummy Bobba. Everything was really good and quite tasty. If you're looking to take a walk into a different culture and cuisine, it's definitely a great place.

Never had food poisoning from Thai food until last night. After seeing the last review, some guy found a cockroach in his food, I'm not surprised. Disgusting.

Diner Review №27

Bad: Crab ragoon did not have any crab.

Mediocre: Drunken noodles was okay.

Good: See Ew noodle was great.

Expensive as hell for the random quality.

Diner Review №28

Ordered Uber takeout. Everything was packaged neatly & sealed, but found a baby ROACH inside the broth. I’M HOPING I DON’T GET SICK!!!

Diner Review №29

The place was a bit run down but the food was out of the world! It was a great place to sit and have dinner but while I was there it looked like a lot of people where doing take out.

Diner Review №30

The food here was DELICIOUS! I tried their Thai tea, which had some type of carnation mixture in it, but it was GOOOOD. I had their red curry and I loved it. We also had their fried rice and shrimp rolls and they didn't disappoint. We were served quick and would definitely go back.

Diner Review №31

I have been to Thailand several times. This ain't it. I don't even think the food Thai. The place seems like a Chinese restaurant pretending to do Thai food. I am not sensitive to spicy food. You can request the spice level on a scale from 1-10. 2 was almost inedible. The food is fairly bland. It doesn't have much flavor, certainly not flavors I associate with Thai cuisine. It's just hot. I can't even tell where the heat is coming from. I couldn't find a chili, pepper, or spice giving the food heat. I think they use some sort of liquid or additive. Regardless, this is simply not Thai food.

Diner Review №32

Workers are super kind and serves absolutely great food!
I definitely recommend everyone to go here and have some of their great food!

Diner Review №33

Not good at all.

Diner Review №34

We were ten minutes before opening and they made us leave. The waiter did thank us for returning. My soup was okay but not awesome. My friend said her drunken noodles was vey good. A wide variety of vegan items. I might go back if I’m in the area with my vegan friend.

The food was delicious. I ordered the red curry, which came with white rice. I will be back, and happy to have this new addition to the neighborhood.

Diner Review №38

super yummy! ordered late after getting off the plane at 1am, and the food still tasted delicious, hot, and fresh!

Diner Review №39

Edit: it used to be a nice place to eat Thai food but now it's quite dirty and smells bad inside. The atmosphere inside is just sad. Food is ok but not as good as before.

Hygiene Concerns at Rod Dee Thai

During my recent visit to Rod Dee Thai, I was disappointed by concerning hygiene issues. The square plate my pad Thai was served on had visible dirt and stickiness on its corners. The bathroom emitted an unpleasant odor, and the toilet appeared unclean, with signs of urine. I believe maintaining proper hygiene is crucial, and I hope Rod Dee Thai addresses these concerns to improve the dining experience for customers.

Diner Review №47

Arguably the best Thai food in the city at the most reasonable rate. The chive pancake and ka pow are so tasty!

Diner Review №48

Absolutely phenomenal food at such a late hour. Only one person working at register, taking orders and having to deal with many ignorant and impatient customers.
The food was well worth the wait and the person at the register deserved a lot better
Come to this place for your food and be patient!!
It’s worth it!!! 😆😆😆

Diner Review №50

Friends and I went to this restaurant two days in a row and both days it was amazing. Food was amazing. Every dish that we had was great and we ordered most dishes on the menu since we were in a large group. The service was even better and that was something since the food was some of the best Thai food they we’ve ever had. Everything is highly recommended. We will be back here every visit to Baltimore.

Diner Review №51

Very Helpful Staff. I Pick-up Food For Uber Eats And Doordash From This Place Often. Always Professional And Courteous

Diner Review №52

My favorite Thai food place in baltimore.

Diner Review №53

The best Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice in town!

Diner Review №54

Kao Soi is my new favorite dish because of this restaurant! And the owner is so nice. Will definitely come back to try more dishes.

Diner Review №55

Mainly ended up here because it was open late on Sunday, but it helped that the menu and everything I saw online looked promising, and it did not let me down. I at first was going to have my friend meet me to dine in, but then she had a change of plans so I had to change my order to go. They handled it well, and it was prepared pretty quickly. I got the Kao Soi Tofu and the Sweet Sticky Rice w/ Taro Custard. It was actually my first time trying both of these and I really liked them. The Kai Soi was like a dressed up yellow curry with a delicious rich and spicy sauce, which thankfully wasn't at all oily unlike some curries I've had. The pickled mustard greens were a really nice touch on this. The waitress asked if I wanted spicy or non-spicy and I went with spicy. Yes it is spicy but nothing insane. If you are averse to spicy food get the non-spicy version but don’t be afraid of the spicy if you have a moderate spicy tolerance. The sticky rice and custard was also delicious - the custard had such a nice texture and natural taro flavour, and the dessert wasn't too sweet or heavy. The portions were very filling but I was starving so I finished every last bite. Even in the takeout packaging, the presentation was really nice! Very fair prices for the size and quality of food! I also like the vibe of the restaurant, it's nothing fancy but the wooden walls make it feel cozy - would've loved to dine in and relax there for a while.

Diner Review №56

The best Thai place in Baltimore. When they opened during the beginning of covid, I ate here everyday. The ambiance is amazing, the menu is amazing and the staff are super friendly and nice. They always decorate on holidays and their prices are the most reasonable I seen around the Baltimore city area. This place is Better than all the other ones that charge way more and are not as authentic. The staff are all from Thailand and cook themselves and are amazing. If you visit, definitely get their Kao soi. The portion sizes are really good too. Never a complaint with Rod Dee Thai. Their hours of operation are great on weekends too if you’re out and about late night. Definitely the place to try for real Thai cuisine

Diner Review №57

Disappointingly small take out portions

Diner Review №58

After a long day of moving our furniture, I was craving something soupy, but it was 10pm and all pho places were closed. I saw on Rod Dee Thai's menu that it had a soup called Tom Yum Goong. We came in expecting to be seated, but their dine-in was closed! It closes at 10:30pm. They were only doing take out, which was fine by me. I ordered the soup along with a Thai iced tea, drunken noodles with chicken and my husband ordered pineapple fried rice with chicken. All this was only ~$38!

The Tom Yum soup was delicious!!! It really hit the spot and it cured my pho cravings. It was sour, tangy and had a meaty flavor to it. The drunken noodles were also really delicious, my only wish was that I should have ordered it spicy! My husband also really enjoyed his fried rice.

I can't believe I've been here for almost 2 years and I just discovered this place! I definitely will be back here to order again!

Diner Review №61

The food here is very good. I got there when they published they were opening but the staff showed 5-10 minutes later than that, making me question if the Google Map posting was out of date. I got the Ka Pow chicken and it was very good. I tried to order online to pick up, but the online system does not work until the place opens. I walked there and ordered and took out, so I can't say anything about dining in there. I also got the Thai dumplings, which were excellent.

Okay, we loveee the thai food here and this is our go-to thai place! If you are in the area, read the below and go check it out!

It's super unassuming on the outside (and the inside) but don't be fooled, they make really good Thai food. It seems like the majority of their orders are to go, but we like to eat in, because nothing beats super hot, freshly cooked food. We always get the same things, because they're the best! Drunken noodles with beef and pad thai with pork. So full disclosure, can't vouch for the other menu items. just get the drunken noodles and pad thai. they're amazing! huge, generous servings and really unique and delicious flavors, with the perfect amount of kick. they've nailed those two dishes. I will say the protein (pork) in the pad thai is nothing special. we get it for the noodles and the flavor.

the family that runs this place is always so welcoming and friendly. we love supporting them!

Diner Review №65

High quality, flavorful food with great service.

Diner Review №66

This is our favorite restaurant in Mt Vernon and possibly our favorite Thai food in Baltimore. The pad Thai with tofu is perfect and the curries and pad see ew have been delicious as well. We haven’t had anything we don’t like here yet. Thanks so much Rod Dee! ♥️ ps check out @everypadthaiinbaltimore on tiktok for more recommendations in Baltimore!

Diner Review №67

Loved the drunken noodles and the sticky rice taro desert.

Diner Review №68

Diner Review №69

I wanted to enjoy my meal. It did not do it for me AT ALL. I am not sure how the chive dumplings were supposed to taste , but they had a bad odor and were extremely soggy. The drunken noodles ( 0 spice ) tasted like a mediocre version of what they were supposed to be as if I were punished for choosing 0. My husband enjoyed his drunken noodles ( level 1) hence the 2 stars . The spring rolls were tasty. Sadly half of the order was not edible .

Diner Review №70

1/5 - All went well with the flavors and the food until I forked up a LONG string of hair that definitely wasn’t mine. Absolutely unacceptable and I will not being coming back to this restaurant.

Diner Review №71

Diner Review №72

The wait staff is super friendly, willing to help make selections, and on top of everything. The Ka Pow with crispy chicken is killer. Well worth a visit.

Diner Review №76

great food but mostly reviewing to spite the recent reviewer who left a one star review just because of a bad vibe without even trying the food. this is a nice place to sit down or do take out

Diner Review №77

Diner Review №78

Walked in and we walked out after a minute. Very strange vibe from the very disinterested, tired looking, and unwelcoming person in the restaurant.

Diner Review №79

Drunken noodles and fried rice with shrimp were very tasty . We will most definitely be back. Super friendly and prompt service.

Diner Review №80

Came here for lunch. The $10 lunch special (soup, spring roll, and entree) is a great deal, and there was so much food that I had to take half my entree to-go. The pad see ew was really good!

Diner Review №81

I highly recommend the scallion pancakes and the ka pow! I love this spot!

Diner Review №82

Very delicious Thai food. A great way to escape the cold. On a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was very quiet and the service was great; 5-star experience. The spring rolls were stellar and the drunken noodles were a hit!
I would definitely recommend dining-in here

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Awesome!

Diner Review №85

Really enjoy to have Thai food here!
Love Som tum with Laos style (papaya salad) and spicy beef salad. It's like the food I got in Thailand :))

For Tom yum Kung, I would suggest to reduce sweetness a bit and have more salty/sour taste (maybe this restaurant adjusts it for the people here which is understandable). We actually requested for more fish sauce and lime from the staff and she helped us very willingly, I was very impressed with the service so it's 5-star experience for me so far. If I have a chance to come back here, will definitely visit it again!

Diner Review №86

If you want an awesome foodie experience this is the place to visit.
The food here is EXCELLENT, I cannot say enough. We've been here twice in less than a month because it was so good. The panang curry is incredible and rich in coconut flavor, as are the drunken noodles with fresh Thai basil. Serving sizes are abundant and the presentation shows the extra TLC given to the dishes. I tried to remember to take a picture the second time around but was looking forward to the meal so much and completely forgot.
We'll definitely be back 🤩

Diner Review №89

I had several dishes and yes, they taste good, but I’ve never had Thai food anywhere with so much SUGAR. I’d say that most Thai food I’ve had over the years was healthy because it relied on savory spices to create flavor. The flavors here were good but overpowered with sugar. Of course people love sugar, but I’d guess that food from this place has twice the calories as traditional Thai food. I had a hard time finishing the dishes I ordered.

Diner Review №90

Red curry has no flavor, rice is mushy and veggy Pad Thai is disgusting, the vegetables look and smell like it's been rotting before it hits the wok

Diner Review №91

Great new spot in Mt Vernon for Thai food. You can tell that they use fresh ingredients. While not an important item on the menu anywhere, I was impressed by the high quality of their spring rolls.

Diner Review №92

The pineapple fried rice was mushy and the curry puff was sweet and tasted weird. The drunken beef noodles on the other hand was flavourful, spicy, tasty as I had asked for. 5 stars for the noodles .
Quite pricy $15 for each item.
$7 for 2 tiny pieces of curry puff

Diner Review №93

Rod Dee Thai NEVER disappoints. Their tasty dishes make me feel like I'm back in Thailand.

Diner Review №95

Dude, LOVED IT!!!

Service: I'm very irritated by poor customer service, but am just as excited and thankful for great service and this place was awesome!! The lady was super sweet, super thoughtful and made me feel welcome right off the bat!!

Food:

Green curry was super flavorful!! Just smelling it, my husband said "this smells right, like you can actually smell the fish sauce in there!" And he was right, it was great! I don't know WHY I love foods, I just know when I do, but my husband is a great cook and is good at dissecting why something is delicious and my husband said it looked like they pan fried the eggplant before putting it in the dish and it gave it perfect texture, tender but not too mushy and said the pork was super flavorful, instead of just plopping flavorless/boiled/blanched like most Thai restaurants do.

Drunken noodles: we eat a lot of Thai in San Diego, but my husband said these were some of the best drunken noodles he'd ever have (and I agree!) The noodles seemed handmade (we can't imagine they actually are, that would be crazy! But maybe hand cut?? Not sure!) Tons of delicious basil. Really great!!

Only 3 not- perfect things to note:
1. Parking sucks, not their fault, but just something to keep in mind. The street parking was $4 an hour--we were actually going to stay for lunch, but decided just to pick up due to that.

2. We ordered spicy level 10 and it really was not all that spicy! I can understand that too--some Thai restaurants in SD had to lower their heat levels because people kept ordering 8-10 and then complaining it was too hot and returning it 🙄 so, I get it, but if you're someone who eats REALLY REALLY spicy like we do, you may want to ask for a Thai 10 or for 10 extra spicy or whatever.

3. BIGGEST PROBLEM. THIS RESTAURANT IS IN BALTIMORE NOT SAN DIEGO 😭

Thanks to Rod Dee for a lovely pickup experience and some bomb food. If you ever move to San Diego to start a Thai restaurant there, hit me up 😉
