My mom ordered a dish the waiter recommended but didn’t realize it had RED SAUCE that she cannot eat due health conditions. The owner was asked to credit her for other time since they were closing at 2:30 or please remove item since my mom never touched the dish. The owner became very RUDE (yelling at us) & Passive Aggressive and threatens to call the cops even though we paid for all the other items. My mom called the cops herself and long story short we were able to leave without paying for something the owner tried to force us to pay for!! He was very disrespectful and rude. I will not be supporting this business anymore when visiting home. Also, my other family members will not neither. I loved this place sushi before this incident.

10-2-19 Wednesday night. So we went to this place for dinner. It took forever for someone to come ask us what we would like to drink or even speak to us. We waited a long time for the food to come out. The service was not good at all. I had to keep asking for refills etc the waitress was “mia” The food was average “not bad”. The location was extremely dated and did not feel clean. The location also felt like there was a lot of moisture in the air, it felt damp. When I went to wash my hands there were no paper towels to dry my hands, the restroom also did not look clean.

I go to Rawz all the time, and I love it. But the other day our service wasn’t the best. It’s not the fact the waitress got our order wrong twice, it was the fact that they tried to charge for it even though it was not what we asked for. (the waitress was very kind though!)

Go here if you're craving for sushi! Love love love! Variety of choices. Noodles are good also. And try some bubble tea which comes with different flavor you can choose from. Atmosphere is great. Staff we're very helpful. Thank you! 👍😉

Was my first visit here and I ordered the Crazy Maki and crab ragoons. They did NOT disappoint. Loved the sushi roll, I ordered a side of eel sauce to dip it in. It’s the perfect combo of spicy, crunchy, and sweet dip.

This location is no where near as good as the Monroe location. When my squid salad came out I knew not to be excited. The portion alone for the price was ridiculous and it didn’t look or taste fresh.

The food is delicious, but the parking lot is atrocious. And I wish they kept an updated menu online. Still, the food keeps me coming back for takeout!

Cafe RawZ has the absolutely most delicious and authentic curry dishes outside of Thailand 🇹🇭 and many other Asian countries where curry-rice dishes are enjoyed. The service staff are both courteous and very amenable to late orders of edamame, for example! The atmosphere, from the wonderful wait-staff, to the light jazz, is excellent: having lived and taught in East Asia (specifically Japan) for over seven years, I give Cafe Rawz my highest recommendation: A perfect 5 Golden Stars!!!

This has been my go-to, favorite restaurant for years (even in Monroe before it burned down) but after the last trip I don't know that I'll return.

One shot ruins it? Everyone has a bad day and I'm aware of that. But I can't support a business whose owner doesn't bother to apologize or do something like offer a discount for a horrible experience.

I dined in with my two daughters. I ordered for the second daughter as she had not yet arrived. We were in a hurry because we urgently had to shop for funeral clothes. After a horrible grief-filled week we wanted our favorite comfort food.

I ordered for the daughter that was with me. Then I ordered daughter #2 and I the same exact thing (and the only things I ever order): unsweet tea, an order of spring rolls, and Siam peanut chicken with white rice. One of each for each of us. The plan was it would be ready when she got there so we could all eat quick and go shopping.

It was busy and the food took a long time. Waitress gets the drinks, spring rolls for both of us and order for daughter #1 correct.

Brings out ONE dish instead of two for me and the other daughter. And it's sesame chicken, not Siam Peanut Chicken. We tell her again what we were supposed to have.

Second redo she brings out two orders of *sesame chicken.* Again. My daughter doesn't eat fried food so we sent it back and requested yet again Siam peanut chicken and white rice, to go. At this point we were going to miss the store shopping hours so both my daughters left. I stayed and waited for the to-go order. Also, I hate wasting food so I told the waitress I would try the sesame chicken. I hated it so I just ate the white rice and sent the chicken back. I didn't order a redo.

The to-go order of Siam peanut chicken had fried rice not the white rice we had requested three times.

We were charged for everything plus the sesame chicken that we received three times yet never ordered and did not eat.

The person at the register went and got the owner to remove the sesame chicken.

He removed that. Gave an excuse about new people and being short staffed. Never apologized. Didn't care. I understand mess ups happen. I understand being short staffed. I understand a new waitress. I even tipped her.

What I don't understand is not receiving an apology. Having an owner not care at all about the customer. $61 total for a nightmate meal.

I didn't freak out. I wasn't rude to anyone. But was definitely treated like I didn't matter and that they could do without my business. So I guess they will 😑✌🏻

This is my favorite place to get sushi there was only one time we weren’t treated with good customer service, I requested a booth and they said they couldn’t sit us in one and the next customer who came in got sat in a booth 🙄 but the food is always good!

I love Cafe RawZ; every dish I've had from here so far has been really good. While I usually get take-out, the staff has always been very friendly to me. I would highly recommend the yellow curry, but their sushi and rice dishes are both also excellent.

Not authentic at all. Ordered tom kha- was given cold soupy stuff with raw onions floating in it. Same goes for the shrimp vermicelli which was moderate spice at best- super bland had to literally empty the chili oil in it to get any flavor at all.

As a local, if you’re coming from out of town or new to the area, just give it a try. We highly recommend it. It’s consistently great food and equally great service. This establishment never disappoints, and we’ve been here over a dozen times and continue to come almost weekly. It’s also different from most of the run-of-the mill restaurants in town. Finally somewhere to get my fix!!! I was literally about to ask my mom to ship me some authentic South Asian food. It could be spicier but I understand most people around here couldn't handle the heat. I'm trying to wake up contemplating life decisions, if you're scooping what I'm pooping ya heard.

Every time I order from here my order is always wrong I don’t understand why they can’t just give you what you order.then when I called about them putting somethings I’m allergic to in my food. The owner had the nerve to ask me if I read their policy. I said what policy? he told the me the policy where they aren’t responsible for our allergies…I have never been so disrespected by an owner of a business.

Nastiest no flavor food I have ever eaten. Japanese and sushi maybe. Thai never. Took one bite and was told no refunds. Gave 1 star cause I couldn’t give 0!

My absolute favorite sushi in NE La! Try the Ahi Town, Funki Maki, and Baked Alaskan rolls. Also try the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. All delicious! Great service and pleasant atmosphere.

I love Cafe Raws the first time I saw the Alaska roll I thought I needed to try this this the baby corn was so good I ordered the crab ragoons it was perfect for me.I loved the vegetable noodles it was perfection. Raws is like literally 1000 times better than any sushi or Chinese restaurant in this Louisiana state. The sauce I’m obsessed with the yum yum sauce it has the perfect amount of sweetness and perfect amount of saltiness and it's texture is so delicious .Y'all this restaurant is so amazing I can’t even stop eating it every other Friday.

rawz used to be the best place in monroe/west monroe for sushi and vietnamese food. however, the last few times we’ve gone, the food hasn’t been much more superior to a takeout chinese restaurant. the past 2 times we have gone (about a month apart, including tonight, 2/10/24), our servers have been clearly high out of their minds. i’m a server myself, so i know that whatever you do outside of work should stay outside of work. there shouldn’t be a reason for you to come to work too high to be coherent and do your job. we’ll definitely be exploring better options for sushi and viet food in the area.

My go to sushi place was Sake Sushi in Alexandria. When they closed, it left a void. Most Sushi places in the Area are extremely situational, and if I'm paying for sushi, I expect it to be good each time I go.

I waited to do this review until I had ate there a few times, and each time did not disappoint. Service was fantastic, I'm assuming a family owns it, as I have seen the same couple there each time, and the waiter we had, his presentation was amazing. He was helpful, he interacted with my kids (he was wearing earrings from Demon Slayer, and my oldest has the same earrings), and over all, you could tell he enjoyed his job.

The food was amazing. There is a lot of variety, they have pho, curry, and sushi. The dumpling are the best I have ever had. Everything taste fresh, homemade, and serving sizes are perfect. I highly recommend going.

So I went to rawz tonight ( Saturday, January 21,23) at around 6:00 pm. I went with my mother and we usually have a great experience, but this time it was totally different. Me and my mother didn’t even get served and sat in the restaurant for an hour and a half waiting to get our sushi, mind you, they’d already served everyone else in the restaurant, ( even those who’d came well after we did) we ended up having to cancel the order, and leaving , because they continued to say “ it’ll be a 10 minute wait” but constantly brought other plates out. We were the only African American family in the restaurant at the time sooo, take note of that as well

It's not even mid, it's just bad. I just finished some pho and literally almost puked. I've been to rawz 2 times before, the first time I went the pho was amazing, the second time I didn't get pho and my food was alright (although the boba tea leaves much to be desired), last night the food was so bad that I considered leaving it behind (and I always take home leftovers no matter what. Which hasn't changed, but I did strongly consider it). Luckily when I got home I was able to eat something else to cleanse my palate.

I would say I almost feel bad for you Monroe folk, but you really do it to yourselves. You let MonJunis go out of business during the pandemic, and you worship Johnny's greasy cardboard overpriced pizza. Rawz fits right in, given how packed it always is despite the awful quality and the price

Love this food. Manglement short staffed the place though, although the waiter was really trying and kept a great attitude, trying to cover a dinner rush with two servers doesn't work. Kitchen sent out my sashimi salad with rotten lettuce, so disappointed.

Very delicious food and the Tera Boba drink is amazing, the service is exceptional and workers are really sweet.

It was hit or miss. Smoked and grilled salmon was terrible. Sushi salmon was terrific. Prices are higher than I expected.

Came back here today to eat lunch with my daughter and we ordered a rock and roll sushi.. now I’ve had this many times in the past and today the fish just seemed somewhat off and a strong fishy flavor. After asking my waitress who was super polite to send it back the owner comes over and decides he want to argue with me saying the fish is the same fish from when I ate here before.. smdh after stating that we will leave and we’re not about to go back and forth he storms off and the waitress apologizes for his behavior.. I will no longer recommend this place

Good for vegetarians - if any of the Thai noodle dishes don't list "tofu" as an option for the protein, just ask for it. I did so for the pad see ew.

I’ve been going to Raw over the last five years and most know it to be one of my favorite places for their food selection.

I have absolutely no complaints about their sushi. It has always been wonderful in taste and presentation.

With other dishes, I’ve had mixed reviews from the times that I’ve been. Some way better than others of course, but the quality does seem to vary.

I have to agree with another reviewer that their monroe location was extremely better at their customer service and food quality. Sadly, it has since closed.

You would benefit more from dining in here than takeout. Their takeout portions are much smaller than dine in. They also seem more accommodating for the dine-in experience. For dine in alone, I would definitely rate Rawz higher.

For taste of food and best selection in the area, definitely try Rawz!

Update: my most recent dine-in experience exceeded my expectations. It still holds true that to get the best experience, you should definitely dine in!

The restaurant is pretty nice and spacious. Parking around it can be tricky because of the construction on the side. It was very busy when we went around 6pm last night. There was about 3 groups ahead of us waiting for a table and 2 more after us waiting to order. The staff moved fast though and looking through the menu I was shocked how much variety they had. After ordering the guy there said 20-25 minutes for our food and drinks. After about 25 minutes I went inside and waited but the boba tea flavor we ordered was out. The man was really cool and told me what else was left. The drinks were great and so was the sushi. Ik I'm coming back and going to try the other foods and drinks.

The manager is very rude and disrespectful ! My order was incorrect and after notifying the manger about the wrong order he replied “ my people do not make mistakes”. After telling him clearly they do because this is not what I ordered he refused to correct the order or give me a refund. When I ask to speak to the manager he said I am the manager and I no longer want you in here. If you want to be belittled and disrespected for wanting the correct order that you paid for then go here.

I just came home to visit for the holidays and used to love Rawz in Monroe. I found out that they are now permanently closed now. I had eaten at both many times but preferred the food at the Monroe location.
Fast forward a few days and I wanted to bring my niece to lunch and we decided on the Rawz in West Monroe. I don't know what has happened but both of our dishes were bad. We both ate two bites and stopped. I had the Orange chicken (made with tofu) and she had the chicken pad thai. Mine tasted like sweet and sour ketchup (no orange flavor) and hers like the smell of raw chicken. I didn't ask for a discount or anything but that was the most expensive bowl of steamed rice in the history of rice.
On the plus side the server was polite. I used to like their sushi, tamarind fish, beef and basil etc, so maybe those are still good. I hope they improve. J

Rawz has good food but as far as customer service goes and getting compensation when they screwed up your order is a big no! HIGHLY recommend checking your bag before you leave the restaurant if you ordered togo or you’ll be driving 30 minutes back to the restaurant if you stay in Monroe like me.

The best Pho in Monroe and West Monroe where you can enjoy great Vietnamese cuisine and sushi for great prices. The service is always delightful, courteous and friendly. The Alaska sushi roll is a must to try along with steam dumplings and a Thai tea to wash it down. I love RawZ from the first time they opened. RawZ is one of my favorite place to hang and do my design work. I really like this place because it has a good ambiance and not too crowded as well. The food and dessert that they had were so delicious. The owner was so friendly and pleasant to talk with. One thing that I got fascinated by this place. They had the most affordable and delicious sushi in town. Make RawZ a stopping point in West Monroe.

Raws Cafe has become one of my favorite places to eat. Fresh sushi and great service makes a great combination for the Cafe. I strongly urge any sushi enthusiasts passing through WM go and get some 🍣 🍣 🍣

This place is amazing! I have been here multiple times now and can't get enough of their sushi! Also I've had the same waiter every time and she is super nice, and so is the rest of the employees. The amount of different types of sushi can cover just about anyones preference. The only small thing is that a roll of sushi is not enough to fill you up, but then again it's pretty cheap and allows for multiple types for one meal! I highly do recommend.

Had spicy tilapia. Wanted sea bass but this dish , I would recommend to anyone who likes fish. The fish was fried to perfection and the sauce was perfect for the fish.
