We invite you to enjoy exotic, authentic, and fun Thai comfort home cooking in our unique boutique restaurant on Magazine Street.
Cooked from our heart to your plate.
Overall, Pomelo was excellent. I dined here with my friends, and the server was very friendly and welcoming, allowing us to move to outdoor seating. Definitely recommend getting the pok pok noodles. Seriously so much flavor, it was absolutely delicious. I would instantly come back here to try all the other dishes
Was recommended this restaurant by a friend who just visited New Orleans. Being from out of town I figured we would only be eating Cajun cuisine but at a point our group had a craving for noodles and I remembered this recommendation. Gosh am I glad I did! Every dish we had was more delicious and fresh and exciting than the last! We split between us six different dishes and appetizers and were able to get a pretty good overview of the menu in doing so. Very delicious while different noodles with exciting and refreshing sauces were everywhere! Unagi was a delight.
The only thing is that we didnβt save room for dessert! Next time we will not make that same mistake .
My wife and I went here for an early dinner, and we were amazed. Certainly the best Thai food in the city and def one of our new favorite places on Magazine now. The service was maybe a little too fast as we literally got our food within maybe five or ten minutes of ordering it, but it was delicious.

Every dish we had was so tasty! I can not wait to return.
The food is always good. Delicious as always. Great service. This restaurant is our favorite destination every time we came to New Orleans. The best Thai Restaurant ever!!
Had the Chicken Green Curry and Spicy Wonton appetizer. So delicious!! Definitely would recommend stopping by this place if youre visiting out of town or are a regular in the city. :)
Food is delicious
Had Mii Kiew noodles, everything tasted so fresh. Incredibly flavorful. Felt like fancy thai food!
This place is my go to Thai restaurant in NOLA
100% perfection! Service, food, itβs a must!
Everything was good!! The curry.. so rich and umami! the wontons. Honestly the best one i had around the area. Would definitely come back again and again!! Nan our server was attentive, very sweet and knowledgeable about all the dishes. She made our dining experience amazing! Thank youuu!
Such a hidden gem! Loved the Panang. Delicious food. Friendly service. We will be back. Thank you!
Made a reservation for 2, came early, was seated and then was never served or asked what to order. A table after us came in and was served water while we waited about 15 mins. So we politely walked out.
Spicy and sour, just like it should be π€ definitely order zero/mild spice if you canβt take the heat.

Every dish was delicious, and the atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly. Some of the most flavorful Thai food we have had in a long time.
The chicken massaman curry was amazing, and the owner was really friendly. All the food is presented beautifully. We got the family order and got to try a bit of everything. It was all so good.
This place is fantastic if you are looking for a vegan option in New Orleans. I usually get the veg glass noodle salad and tofu massaman curry. Iβve had massaman curry all over the country and this is by far the most delicious Iβve had. The glass noodle salad is also fantastic and both dishes had a large variety (and quantity) of veggies. I canβt recommend this place enough
Excellent taste, quality, and service.
Wow is all i can say. This was the most flavorful fantastic curry dish Iβve ever tried in my life. I canβt believe or begin to describe how amazing the curry dish was. It beyond exceeded my expectations. Amazing 10/10.
Excellent flavors and selection of fresh food. A go-to spot on Magazine.
So yum
Clean, friendly staff, delicious food! We had thr veg papaya salad And Green curryβ¦. Would eat it everyday!!! Generous portions, and bone in chicken for the massaman (so tender and flavorful). Thank you for a phenomenal dining experience!
The staff was very polite and the restaurant has a good ambiance.
We ordered the drunken noodles, they served egg noodles instead of flat rice noodles, and the noodles were chewy and not spicy at all.
Tom yum soup was very sour.
We ordered the family meal and were delighted with every dish. Each course was unique, flavorful, and fresh.
My wife and I had an incredible meal at Pomelo out on their sidewalk seating tonight. The Som Tum platter was amazing, and our server Nan gave great recommendations on the Thai Curry Puffs and Green Curry with salmon! Will definitely be coming back a lot!
Wow wow wow, Pomelo is outstanding! We loved everything we ordered and Nan, our server was so lovely - she gave us amazing recommendations, was super attentive, and gave us some great background about authentic Thai food. All of the dishes were styled beautifully and it was clear that everything is scratch made and super fresh. Pomelo is for sure my new favorite Thai restaurant in NOLA and we will for sure be regulars from now on.
Food was good. Service was good. Place is cute.
I had the Tom YUM Pasta with Salmon. Unfortunately, the fish was overcooked. The sauce was delicious. The veg was broccoli, tomatoes, and little tiny white mushrooms. It had a bit of kick to it as expected, and that was appreciated. Two of the ladies had the daily chef special. It was something Panang. One was chicken satay, I can't remember the rest, but all plates were enjoyed.
A little salty for my taste, but all my other friends like it. The flavor is impeccable. Great for dates or group gatherings. Great service. Vegetarian and large group 5-7 available, recommend calling ahead.
Spectacular Thai... fresh and spicy
Magazine street in NOLA. Very tiny space, but lovely outdoor seating. We tried BBQ Pork mango Salad (spicy) and Pok Pok Noodles (ordered mild). Both very good.
A great find! Wonderful service, helped us dry off when we came in from the rain. Not a long wait, and great foodβespecially if you love spice! Highly recommend trying the Thai Arnold Palmer. Will be coming back!
Food is delicious. The green curry is unique, the Thai puffs I get every time I go. And great coffee too
This is my absolutely favorite Asian restaurant in the city. While this establishment is small with only less than 8 tables inside and 2 outside, they pack so much flavor into their dishes.
Their Khao Soi is just unmatched and I have not tasted any other khao soi thatβs even close to how theyβve perfected this dish.
The salmon tsuke is a great started with bold flavors that harmonize with the rice and seaweed provided.
At times service may a bit slower, but this place is an amazing spot for a relaxed lunch or dinner.
Went there for a friends birthday dinner and made a reservation that got confirmed a week ago. When we got there they told us they didnβt have a table for us, as the website double books and this happens all the time. We were able to sit inside at a table with a corner chair, but the fact we almost had to leave after making a reservation that had been confirmed by the restaurant is unheard of. The food comes out one by one, and the first dish had about a 15 minute gap before the birthday girl got her food. Really bad place to celebrate anything. The food was good, but it isnβt cheap and the service was upsetting. Plus, half our tables food was cold by the time we all got to eat together. Honestly I recommend anywhere else on magazine street for dining in or special occasions.
Great tasting food. Nice menu with some of the usual stuff but some stuff you don't usually see in America.
My wife and I went here for an early dinner, and we were amazed. Certainly the best Thai food in the city and def one of our new favorite places on Magazine now. The service was maybe a little too fast as we literally got our food within maybe five or ten minutes of ordering it, but it was delicious.
Service was very good but food was not. I got the mango BBQ pork salad and the pork was basically all very chewy fat. Fish sauce was good though. Also got the veggie green curry. The curry sauce had great flavor but the veggies were oddly roasted and overly large. Very small amount of rice too. Price was not reflective of the food I received. I am a fan of Thai food and been to many all around the US and this one sticks out as the worst and most oddly put together dishes. Not sure if they're trying something new or all the other Thai restaurants I've been to were inaccurate but I was not impressed and will not be going back or recommending.
If you like spicy food, I would recommend the Pok Pok Noodle. The flavorful broth permeates the noodles, shrimp, pork and bok choy really nicely. The spicy wontons, surprisingly, are not that spicy. The Som Tum platter (salmon, papaya salad, noodles, pork cracklings) has a mildly sweet profile and is for those who donβt like spicy food. This place is rather small with limited seating and service can be a bit frenzied.
We had a really off-putting experience at Pomelo. Some things tasted ok (like my BBQ eel entree and our appetizers). But the issues stacked up. The pork in my partnerβs dish was all gristle, and visibly so. His entree also came out without mine, with no explanation. So he sat there looking at it until mine arrived maybe 2 minutes later. There were other little things (no knives? and an air-conditioning unit that made the whole place uncomfortable, until a customer stood up and turned it off). And a big off-putting thing that I wonβt describe because it will turn some people off forever. Ultimately, everything was βfixed.β But with so many restaurants to choose from, I donβt see myself choosing Pomelo again.
We ordered takeout. Our order took an additional 45min to be completed after it was meant to be ready. Pretty underwhelmed with the quality of the food we spent 60 dollars on barely enough food for 2 people. I am sure dining in would be preferred, not sure if portions are more reasonable if dining in. But definitely do not recommend this place for takeout.
Some of the best Thai I've had. The curry and other sauces were very tasty. We had green curry, green papaya salad, Tom yum soup, seafood glass noodle salad. If I'm in town again will definitely eat here.
Small restaurant but some of the best Thai I have had. Worth checking out.
Flavors are authetic, food is fresh, service is prompt, and the entire ambience just warm and cosy. Our group of 10 nothing but praises for our meal here at Pomelo. Just awesome!
Absolute best Thai. Taste is amazing and the staff are wonderful
YUM!
Best Thai in New Orleans!!!!
I was disappointed. On my recent visit both dinners were served cold, so was one of the meals at the next table. Additionally, our meals came out separately, 15 mins apart. Not what I was expecting based on the review score.
Hands down one of my fav places in New Orleans!
Some of the best Thai Iβve ever had. The Green Curry was perfect!
We visited for the first time today. The restaurant is not big, but very clean and comfortable. The QR code ordering is very convenient, and the waiter is very hospitable. The papaya salad and spicy salmon crudo in the Som Tum Platter are very delicious, and the Seafood Tom Yum Wonton Soup is also highly recommended. We also ordered Green Curry and white rice, which is a perfect match. I think it should be one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in New Orleans, which is very different from those American Thai restaurants. If you are looking for authentic Thai taste, I strongly recommend you to try it!
Spicy and delicious, just as Thai food should be.
Ive been searching for the best Thai in Nola and i think Iβve found it! Amazing flavors. I want to try everything on the menu so Iβll definitely be coming back often. Highly recommend.
Good Thai food and the best service
Hi,
I am African American and had a very racist experience here from the staff. I felt rushed & extremely unwelcome. If you are looking for authentic Thai food in a welcoming environment this is NOT the place. There are other really great restaurants on Magazine that are friendly to all. I recommend skipping this spot.

We had our Easter lunch here and everyone was extremely happy with their food. Great service, kind and timely, the owner came out and spoke with us and we all really enjoyed our time!
Compared to how this restaurant was reviewed, I felt it was lacking in flavor and quality of the dishes. Iβve had much better thai food elsewhere
A large variety of choices. Fair prices for the area. Very friendly staff.
Love this place, authentic Thai cuisine prepared with love and attention. Miss Om is a great host. Highly recommended
I am a Pomelo frequent eater. Have you hired a new chef? Changed recipes? We had our usual food items tonight and they weren't up to the usual AMAZING standard. The dishes tasted great, but things were undercooked, mealy and the Chicken Massaman, instead of the usual cut up chicken pieces, had a quarter piece of bone in dark meat chicken. Sooo hard to share and eat. We LOVE your food and hope this was just a "one" off. We'll be back, but not for a while.πͺ
Had the Pok Pok Noodle. Fantastic!!!
Not worth what one pays. The salmon appetizer is extremely small to costs as much as it does. Itβs absurd.
Delicious food and great ambiance! The owner was so personal and made sure that we liked what we ordered. Our food was flavorful and an intricate balance between spice, sweet, and savory. Loved it, will return asap!
While visiting New Orleans for the weekend with some friends, we stopped by Pomelo for a bite to eat. We were all equally absolutely floored by how incredibly good this food was. To add to that, the chef herself popped out to say hello to us, and even brought me a small bowl of additional curry when she noticed I had drank most of it already!
This is a must-visit if you are in town, and I will absolutely be back the next time I'm in this wonderful city. Thank you!!!
We tried several dishes. Each one was delicious! Very interesting flavor profiles that are different from other places in the city.
Absolutely delicious, incredibly fast, beautiful to boot
Honestly the best Thai food Iβve ever eaten. 10/10 would recommend.
There's better thai food options. Food was extremely bland, the restaurant is so small you're basically sitting with the table next to you, and the dishes came out one by one with odd 2-5 min gaps--this happened to everyone, not just our table.
Although outside the day was rainy, grey & damp, the palate party inside Pomelo's was on fire. This was my first experience of Thai cuisine and my earlier trepidation vanished --quickly. Our group regularly meets to catch-up and just bask in the glow of sisterly camaraderie. We ordered, shared and savored on Sweet Corn And Shrimp, Spicy Wontons, Chicken Satay, Chicken Massaman, Spicy Salmon Tsuke & Mango Cheesecake. EVERY dish was unique and full-flavored, with & without heat. There was nothing leftover except big smiles and full bellies. The Chef (in the photo doorway) was also our Servicer and she took exceptionalΒ care. The women is a Rockstar!
Comfortable dining room is rather small (intimate) without feeling crowded. Outdoor seating is also available. Background music was at a perfect level where you still hear conversations as well as vibes. You got to eat here--you will not be disappointed.
Always a delight when I dine here. 10 out of 10.
Visited last week while in town for work. I depend on reviews immensely since Iβm on the road often. This place and the reviews steered me wrong. I ordered their special dish, Sum Tom. It was probably the worst Thai food Iβve ever had and the most expensive. The Green papaya salad was the only thing that tasted Thai. It was also probably good because its served cold. And the pork and noodles were also cold and tasteless. Zero flavor. The Salmon did not taste of any Thai flavors. Would not recommend this place.
Este lugar es increΓble!! Me encantΓ³. La comida es deliciosa y el servicio super amable. Pedimos el Salmon Tsuke, el Shrimp Laab y el pok pok noodle y todo excelente.
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The wontons were incredible and the corn and shrimp salad was perfect. I will think about this salad every day. The pomelo curry noodles with salmon was cooked perfectly. I also got the kei Wei with bbq pork and they had those delicious wontons in it. This is a must. The server was kind, sweet and very helpful.
Come here.
Went for a casual double date with an old friend. He set up a reservation (though there was plenty of availability for walk-ins). The service was extremely fast and we all loved our food. Very authentic. Also loved that their menu is well divided for ease of looking for vegetarian dishes (doesn't apply to me, but I know it is hard for some to meet their dietary goals)
Exceeded our expectations! Canβt wait to go back! Spicy wonton app, Pok Pok noodles, Tom Yum pasta!
I had a wonderful experience at Pomelo, a cozy and authentic Thai restaurant on Magazine Street. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and flavorful.
I ordered the Tom Yum Hang Pasta, which is a fusion dish of spaghetti tossed in a sauce of blended fresh Thai herbs, chili, garlic, chili jam, and lime juice. It came with a generous amount of seafood, including shrimp, calamari, and mussels. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was spicy, sour, and sweet, just like a good tom yum soup. It was a satisfying and unique dish that I would definitely order again.
Pomelo is a great place to enjoy some Thai comfort food in a relaxed and charming atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Thai cuisine or wants to try something different.
This place was wonderful! The food was excellent and the service was great. I'm vegan with a non vegan family and we all enjoyed our meals very much. The food tasted fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. It is probably my favorite Thai food I've ever eaten. The prices were reasonable as well. This was my first restaurant I tried on my trip to New Orleans and it set my expectations very high!
Amazing Thai place on magazine. Got the green curry and was not disappointed. Will definitely come back.
Iβve already recommended this restaurant to my foodie-est of friends. NOLA restaurant competition is intense, so somewhere worth going back to is significant. Iβve been here twice in the past week. Every dish was spectacularly spiced, fresh, and wonderfully presented.
The server is a highlightββif anything, go for her.
We ordered vegetarian dishes, tofu and corn salad and khao soi and they tasted out of the world good. Our server was awesome too
The green curry is perfect. Aligned with how they make in Thailand. We also enjoyed the βspicyβ wonton app, they split the spicy dipping sauce with standard level of heat so that my boyfriend and I could both enjoy. He also had a noodle dish Mii Kiew that had all bits and surprises including egg noodles, meat and more wontons. Table outside was great in ideal New Orleans weather (Oct). Our hostess was so sweet. If youβre looking for quality, casual, affordable food this is it. We will be back!!
Amazing food & restaurant! Highly recommend. 5 stars.
Soooooo good!! Definitely recommend the spicy wontons and curry puff pastry appetizers!
Amazing food and very friendly. You will not be disappointed!!!
I love this place. Authentic and elevated Thai food. Best in the city by far. Wish they had larger space fir when it gets busy at night.....may they be blessed with growth.
OMG... I can't say enough great things about Pomelo! I was walking on Magazine Street and saw a Thai restaurant, and I was about to go inside until I looked at the Yelp reviews. The reviews were decent, so I decided to look at all the Thai restaurants nearby and saw the great reviews for Pomelo, which was a 20-minute walk away. It was a beautiful day, so I decided to sit outside, and Judy took great care of me; she was amazing. I cannot express how fresh and delicious the food was. I had the Som Tum Platter, which is a Thai national favorite dish: papaya salad, spicy salmon crudo, BBQ pork, shrimp, and pork rinds! I will definitely be back when I visit again.
Everything was amazing and everyone was so nice and gave great recommendations also apparently its BYOB!! Get the salmon tsuke and the panang curry for sure!
Very good and delicious, also very authentic
My parents and I ordered the Thai family meal for roughly $72 without tax. I think 2 or 3 dishes weren't too bad at the same time it wasn't 100% the greatest. I can't judge it negatively cause I was there once. Idk.
Amazing!
Outstanding food
Awesome spot. The salmon tsuke was absolutely divine but really everything we ordered tasted great
First timer here in New Orleans. Have had Thai in New York & miami... but I gotta say what I experienced here was like no other. The woman who took care of us was wonderful. She was so cute & nice. Very lively. Made me feel homey! The food, wow. Best noodles I've had. I had the mii kiew with chicken... phenomenal. So much flavor. Definitely want to come back my next Nola trip. If you haven't been I suggest you go!
They had one overworked
Crazy good Thai food. Incredible. Best Thai food Iβve ever had.
Great Thai food. Lovely intimate atmosphere.
Extremely delicious Thai food! Lemon Thai iced tea was also excellent. Will be back again and again!
Absolutely without question the best Thai food I've ever had. Excellent menu and thoughtfully prepared food.
The owners are genuinely kind.
OMG this thai food is insane. I spent two weeks in Thailand a few years ago and I'm telling you this is the best Thai food I've had in the US. Get the massaman curry with chicken. Just trust me. OMG
Delicious fresh food. Great service. The atmosphere is very quaint.
Such a sweet little place with really delicious authentic food. The Curry puffs were sooo good and the pok pok noodles are worth ordering twice so you have some to take home
Cosy restaurant, great food, super lovely and sweet staff. Red curry special was delish, papaya salad had great flavor but could have had more papaya. Worth noting NO alcohol available but you can BYOB with no charge.
Everything from the food to the service is amazing!!! This is probably the best Thai restaurant in the city! Everything is fresh, full of flavor, and always delicious! The owner is also incredibly sweet and generous! Highly recommend for anyone looking for phenomenal Thai food in the city! Makes the perfect cozy night in on the couch too!
Food was amazing! A little trip back to Thailand πΉπ, never disappointing.
Delicious food! Thai with a twist.
This is the most authentic Thai dining experience. I was delighted to enjoy northern Thai food in the United States. The herbs and ingredient were fresh and made with so much love. I will come back here every time I dine in Nola.
Iβve walked by Pomelo so often and finally decided to give it a go. Wow. Ordered the Green Curry, Thai curry puffs, and lilikoi cheesecake. Canβt say enough about the quality of the ingredients and how tasty everything was.
both the food and the service wmere incredible. the Ambiance was also amazing. the owner was very friendly
The charming, quaint restaurant exudes a delightful ambiance. Despite its small size, it delivers an explosion of flavors in its dishes. Every plate boasts a distinct and intricate taste, ranging from spicy to creamy, sweet and spicy, and rich. The Thai iced tea served as a perfect palate cleanser between each delectable bite. Its smooth, refreshing, and delightful quality added to the experience. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem, offering exceptional food and service. I eagerly look forward to my next visit.
Very friendly staff- delicious creamy green curry with lots of veggies.
Amazing food and service from the wonderful proprietor. She was sweet as can be and the food did not disappoint. Spicy wontons. Great. Salmon app. Awesome. Eel. Incredible.
Small and cozy neighborhood gem! The food blows this place up! It's the best Thai food in the city and worth journeying across town for. Their focus on hospitality made us feel special! Can not wait to go back!
I tried the Mii Kiew and the Pok Pok Noodle. Both were okay, and much more fishy than I was anticipating. If I go again I would probably try a curry instead.
Speechless
Small restaurant with amazing food
Ordered appetizers and wasnβt what I expected.
Iβve been all over Thailand on a total of 8 occasions. This is absolutely amazing Thai food. Made me feel like I was back in Thailand. Aroi mak!!! So good. The khao soi is perfect and better than most I had In Chiang Mai. The som tam is legit authentic. American Thai food is full of fake som tam made with cabbage. Hers is full of lovely green papaya. So delicious and perfectly spicy.
pomelo Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in Nola , food /service/ atmosphere always as good as it is ! Never disappointed!
Had a great lunch! The food was seriously next level. It was hard to decide on what to order....can't wait to go back.
Update to add: still friggin delicious! Has the Thai sausage app & the seafood glass noodles. I feel so honored to have such a good chef in our neighborhood. Hella good!
Food was absolutely incredible!!! Service was amazing - best neighborhood Thai restaurant weβve eaten at! :)
Very tasty food π₯ all that we ordered are delicious! Judy is very attentive, efficient and kind. The owner Aom is very genuine and friendly. Kat is very helpful!
Small, quaint, and clean restaurant with authentic Thai food that is delicious! Very nice staff from Thailand that are very personable and knowledgeable about the food. A must stop on Magazine. Fyi, no alcohol is served there; enjoy the food.
The food was amazing, the chicken massaman specifically was very flavorful (sweet and savory with a lot of spices.) The waitress was very nice and kept checking in and refilling our waters. Definitely worth the price.
My message to the chef/owner...I think says it all:
Thank you again Aom for such a great evevening yesterday! Everything -your staff, food, plating, presentation, hospitality- was wonderful!! And everyone enjoyed!
One of my friends even said she that until last night she thought she didn't like Thai food and now she knows that where she's had it before just did not do it justice.
Again thank you again for accomadating us on my birthday and like every other dish that Mango Cheesecake...so fresh, so good!!
Cute find while walking in the Garden District! Authentic food and pleasant service. Papaya salad is amazing!
Clean, beautiful food with decent portion size
Served stupidly fast
Unironically good drink variety too , even if it is all/mostly non-alcoholic
I was so surprised about how delectable this place was!
Don't judge a book by its cover that's for sure!
This was a pick by bestie for her birthday and we did a lot of family style and ordered sooooo much food.
There was a salmon dish here that absolutely changed my life!!!! It was amazing! I wish I remembered what it was called!
They also don't serve alcohol so the bill was cheap ahahah like 40/pp with 20% gratuity.
The staff was AMAZING (WE TOOK UP BASICALLY THE WHOLE RESTAURANT ITS SO SMALL) and they handled us like champs!
The bathroom could use a lil upgrade but I mean, we didn't come for the bathroom!
