As an Asian, we finished all the meal, just like the picture (empty)🤣. The Chinese food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing! Every dish is incredibly authentic, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. Their signature dishes are especially delicious—rich in taste and visually appealing. Whether you prefer spicy or lighter options, there's something for everyone. Highly recommend!
This was our first time going there, but not our last. The food is very well seasoned without burning your face off!
The Peking duck sampler was excellent!
The servings horses are generous and very good for the price. Amazing variety that we look forward to trying many more of in the near future.
There is a substantial vegan menu here and it delivers. The food itself is presented quite beautifully and tastes quite good.
The service is a little slow and it does not appear that they are open to customizing dishes. I asked for no cauliflower in my dish but they left it in.
Other than that, the atmosphere is wonderful.
Would go back for sure
I cannot say enough how good this place is. You must start with the roti. Absolutely incredible from there you won’t go wrong with the Mongolian beef. I ordered the spicy which is not overly spicy but very delicious. As my side I ordered the fried rice which was seasoned to perfection. I would highly recommend this place to eat at the staff are extra friendly. Great local b

Every year we travel to NOLA for Mardi Gras. Each year after finding this gem of a location, we make a point to dine here.
Thanks for the great food and service.
Quick note: 30-40 minutes later my wife and began getting heavy stomach cramps and you want happens from there. Common denominator was the chicken Pad Thai:
Called and spoke to Manager Don who would look into it and mentioned they had a new cook. We had to cut our Mardi Gras party short due to possible food poisoning.
I am editing to 3 stars from the 5.
Everything is overwhelmingly salty—one meal feels like it could lead to kidney failure. The best item was the fortune cookie. Plus, the same amount of food costs half as much in Toronto.
I placed a take-out order for gluten-free pad thai. When I arrived, the system wasn't working properly and they had not received my order. The host took my order and apologized. It was ready in about 5 minutes, which was incredibly quick. The flavors were robust and very authentic. Thanks for the great food, service, and gluten-free options!
We love going to Zhang and sitting at with Don!
I googled this place and decided to take a chance. The facilities were beautiful, and the food was amazing. We chose to have the shrimp shumai And the crispy chicken and red chili oil.
They have a full vegan menu, of which everything we ate was delicious. Our server Jamie was really nice. Totally recommend
Love the egg drop soup, appetizer, and hot sake from a dispenser
This place…..beautiful, clean, cozy. And the food OMG!!! This restaurant is awesome, please go, you won’t be disappointed 😬
Food and service is always outstanding! Love the Lychee Punch
Easily one pg the best places in the French Quarter. A good selection for anyone and I highly recommend the fried rice, sesame chicken, and egg roll. Don and Jaimie are excellent, friendly, and prompt.
LOVE this place
You're gonna love it!
Beautiful restaurant! Friendly staff who make you feel welcome. The drinks are top notch and carefully crafted. Food was the best quality Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’m afraid no other Chinese food will do from now on!
Ordered sweet n sour chicken i was not able to eat it as it was way over cooked the batter was way too hard the actual chicken was tough mentioned this to the staff member and he wasnt interested in sorting this out
Good Asian food choices with great service.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently dined at Zhang Bistro in the heart of the French Quarter, and it was an exceptional experience! I tried the egg rolls, chicken fried rice, and edamame, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced—truly a treat for the taste buds.
My waiter, Don, was fantastic! He was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself was spotless and had a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere.
If you're looking for great food and excellent service in the French Quarter, Zhang Bistro is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu. Highly recommended!
Very cool little corner restaurant in French Quarter. Service was excellent. Food was very good and large portions. Loved my witch's brew. Will definitely return on next trip.
Fast service, not too crowded, and amazingly hot food. Best spicy Thai fried rice I’ve had thus far.
Beautiful relaxed atmosphere that feels very nice with very kind and attentive staff! The food was out of this world and they even give you chili sauce that boosts the spicyness level of the food if your a spice fanatic like my girlfriend. Very flavorful food well seasoned and fast attentive service our favorite spot during our new Orleans visit!
Great food. Very accommodating.
Franklin was awesome, courteous and friendly. All food we ordered are tasty. Will definitely come back here next time we are in New Orleans..
My friends and i love this place! Great service, great food. This is a favorite.
This is always an amazing spot! The food and the service is truly best in the city. The servers always remember us and make it a point to make us feel welcome.
Cup was wonderful and accommodating. Food fresh and tasty. Highly recommended for moderate Thai in the quarter!
Love the food.

I recently dined at Zhang Bistro in New Orleans, and it was an unforgettable experience! The egg fried rice was nothing short of amazing—perfectly seasoned and oh-so-flavorful. I highly recommend the Szechuan hot wok; it was served in a mini wok with a sterno flame underneath, creating a delightful presentation and keeping the dish sizzling hot.
And let me tell you about the lo mein—it was to die for! Each bite was packed with deliciousness, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a great meal. If you’re in New Orleans, don’t miss out on this gem! You won’t be disappointed!
Food was light, but filling. Staff was great. Very nice!
Great food! Simple fresh flavours. We had a Thai red curry and lo mein with shrimp - both were delicious and satisfying.
The experience was good until the check was given. They charged 20% after tax tips on a 8 people table. 20% is normal but after tax is unnormal. There was also a charge of credit fee. The server said it’s usual for New Orleans restaurant to charge this for the credit transactions. But this is definitely the first time to hear this after several days staying here. Very bad.
The food is good. The service is ok (they got our order wrong a few times and also tried to get us to order things we didn’t want). The prices for non-main dishes are outrageous ($7 for a bottle of water, etc). They also include a 25% tip with your bill. Tips are appropriate and should be generous. However if it’s going to be included without the diner knowing until the bill appears, please notify your customers ahead of time.
We had family dinner here in Christmas Eve. The food was excellent and the prices were good! I highly recommend!
Not so tasty, even the items that the waiter mentioned special, weren’t up to the mark.
Bad
Drunken noodles
Spicy Thai Fried rice
Good
Low mein noodles
House fried rice
Not my first choice for food in the French Quarter but glad we stopped in. Expected the Crawfish fried rice to be gimmicky but was really good with a lot of crawfish. Peking Duck was excellent as well.
It's a nice chill place with a mix of Asian cuisine. I got the fried rice combo, which came with beef, chicken, and shrimp for just 19 dollars (one of the best combo deals I've seen.)
Food was soggy and wasn’t presentable. Very rude bartender. Not the best for the price.
Food was delicious. Friendly staff and food served quickly and hot.
This was our first time going there, but not our last. The food is very well seasoned without burning your face off!
The Peking duck sampler was excellent!

Great food great service
The here is so good! Everything was very fresh and flavorful! I will definitely be back!
Fabulous! The food is amazing and consistently good! This is my go-to dining when in New Orleans. Everytime I walk in, the unappealing aspects of the city disappears and I feel comfortable here. The music is soothing and everything on the menu has been a winner sofar. I love love, the General Tso's Tofu (the char-grill and crunch they get on the tofu is outstanding and a rare find. To get the full affect, it must be eaten as dine-in.) My other favorites: coconut soup, fried veggie dumplings, fragrant jasmine tea, and Pad Thai. The wait staff is always excellent and the prices are reasonable. Lunch or dinner, I've had great experiences. Thank you, applause!
The food in this place is amazing. Be careful with the lady or waiter serving you a bottle of Acqua Panna water when you ask for water as a drink. She only asks if you want water and serves it before you can see it. The waiter puts another open bottle of it on the table. When she was asked about why we got brand water instead of regular water she insists we asked for it when we didnt at all. She did take one off the bill. Its $7 each and its not on the actual menu. So just watch out. The waiter wasnt aware of that, he was great.
Stopped in for dinner and did not regret it. It was delicious! Our waiter was great. We got the Hot Wok and it was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Great place with great food and great service. I had the Mongolian beef. Delicious!
Crawdad fried rice is so good!!
Perfectly situated, very good food and top service
Yes.
This place is AMAZING! I have been here twice, and food was delicious each time. The servers were friendly, food came fast, and the atmosphere was so cute! Many gluten-free options. Servers, as well as the kitchen, are very knowledgeable about food allergies. Will be back real soon!
I cannot say enough how good this place is. You must start with the roti. Absolutely incredible from there you won’t go wrong with the Mongolian beef. I ordered the spicy which is not overly spicy but very delicious. As my side I ordered the fried rice which was seasoned to perfection. Don was beyond excellent and made a scotch heavy cocktail for me that was flawless. Got the egg rolls with it and could eat 20 of them without a problem!!!
Ordered shrimp lo mein with nothing else. Over $20 with tax. I told the bartender it had better the best lo mein in the world for that price. I don't think Mr. Chow in NYC or Beverly Hills charges that much. The dish was less than average. Mostly filled with the huge chunks of stir fry veggies that you have to spend 30 minutes picking out of your noodles before you can dig in.
Not the worst food I've ever had, but certainly way too overpriced. Dian Xin across the street isn't that great either, but certainly better food than this place.
Such a shame that 85% of the Quarter has to be tourist traps for idiots.
Great place for Thai in the Quarter. Good food. Reasonably price drinks.
Great food and service, recommended.
There was a giant roach on the wall inside next to us while we were eating. Kinda spoiled the entire situation
Appetizers and Cocktails before dinner were delicious 😋
Dinner was wonderful. Area is revitalizing....watch your step.
I would’ve rated them higher but unfortunately my tofu was not steamed as requested. I specifically asked for this due to health reasons- bummer.
The food was great. I recommend the fried dumplings and the string beans!
My husband and I had just returned to our hotel from the last day of Jazz Fest. We were really tired and very hungry. The restaurant that we first chose was very busy with a 45 minute wait. Neither of us was in a particularly good mood and picked the first place that was not crowded and had Asian food we liked. So glad that we did! I ordered the walnut shrimp which came with broccoli and steamed white rice and it was delicious. He ordered the pork bowl and said it was very good. Our waiter was pleasant and served us well. The prices were reasonable and the ambience was lovely. All in all, an excellent dining experience. Highly recommend!!
It’s good place
Good Asia bistro worth to visit here
Ciprian very very helpful and gave us amazing customer service. We are so great full to be here today and food is at next level nice taste food.
Hands down, the worst Thai food we’d ever had. I honestly feel bad writing this and considered not writing one but the management/kitchen staffs response is why I am. To start off positively, it’s a beautiful place and solid wait staff. The wonton soup was meh, the egg drop soup was slightly better than okay (if you add spice to your liking) and fried pork dumplings were good - but absolutely nothing worth complaining about. We ordered Pad Thai and Red Curry - it’s hard to describe but for such colorful meals - it was somehow bland and nasty at the same time? The chicken was questionable at best…but we tried to power through because we were looking forward to Thai food and hungry but could only get through about 6 bites before we both couldn’t stomach it anymore. My husband suggested we box it up and offer it to someone who was hungry on the street - and I kid you not, I was not attempting to be rude - but I told him I’d be too embarrassed to hand this over to even a hungry person.
So we told our waiter, he quickly took the food away and offered us a replacement meal but to mess up the two most basic Thai meals you can get, we declined. Next is where it became unprofessional to me, when the meals were sent back - the management and kitchen staff came out to look at US while whispering? Are you kidding me? What they should have done is look at each other to figure out how to not send out disgusting food again or had management approach us to see how they could improve….instead they stare at us…
Very unprofessional. Anyways, you can try it out for yourself because maybe it’ll taste good to you but after going to scores of other Thai restaurants and their odd response, I’d say go somewhere else.
Small, best medium plus level Asian in the area.
I loved the spicy Thai fried rice.
Hands down the best Thai/ Chinese food in the Big Easy! We come down for French Quarter Fest every year, & discovered this place 3 years ago. Everything we’ve ever had here is delicious , & Ashley is a gracious hostess. We love spicy Asian food & Zhang delivers the goods !
Great service, amazing food.
Highly recommended.
LOVED IT HERE!!!! Will certainly come back as soon as I can because all of my food was mouthwateringly delicious 🤤 Literally still dreaming about the Hot and Sour Soup + Walnut Shrimp i had. And all 5 of my other friends said the same about their meals. We sat at the bar and still had perfect service via a sweet lady. One of my pals has a very serious gluten allergy, so naturally finding decent food in the city was super difficult. however… This restaurant has a sizable vegan AND gluten-free menu and I really can’t stress how delicious the food and drinks were !! Thanks yall (:
Loved my chicken lo mein! Our service was wonderful and our server made sure we went out the door with fresh refilled drinks. I'd love to try more menu items and hope to visit again in the future.
Don definitely made our experience. It was such a good time, I would definitely recommend. Great food and drinks!
Really enjoyed a great meal while here on business. The drunken noodles were the unsung hero of the night. The dish was bursting with flavor. The walnut shrimp was as advertised, although it did get cold faster than I hoped. I wish there was more of the shrimp shumai. When I'm in town again, I plan to return to try other dishes
Just dropped in to say, we always order delivery from here but we stopped in on Mardi Gras day and the service was outstanding! Kudos to the staff, what a wonderful relief in a day of crowds. Y'all did outstanding!
Beautiful French Quarter restaurant and bar
Wandered down the street and came across Zhang bistro, the menu outside looked awesome the prices looked reasonable, so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. We were blown away! We had the spicy garlic edamame, it had such a level of smokiness, it was phenomenal. I'm a huge fan of Tom yum soup and theirs did not disappoint! And then we shared the spicy Thai fried rice combo for our main meal. There's three things where the perfect amount of food for the two of us, both of us completely satisfied satiated and very happy. Definitely going back soon to try many more things on the menu!
Food = Horrible.
My mom and I just had a fantastic lunch here. The cocktails were great - I had the ginger martini with their own ginger infused vodka. Egg roll appetizer, followed by baby bok Choi and green curry chicken.
We had so much fun - the food was wonderful, the atmosphere great, and the service so friendly.
We Will return soon!
Ate here on our last night in New Orleans. I have celiac and we were trying to figure out where we could eat that I knew I’d be okay. We found Zhang and had a great experience. I got the shrimp fresh rolls and Pad Thai. Both were delicious. My husband got the General Tso’s chicken. Our server was very helpful. Very happy with our experience here!
Tommy was our waiter!!
He was delightful! So nice, informative, attentive and had a great sense of humor!
Also, the food was so good!!
Thank you!!
Sherry
Completely wonderful. I had an ideal green curry, and shared the peking duck appetizer. Waitstaff was cheerful and efficient, food came quickly and piping hot. The space is open and comfortable, with big picture windows for people watching.
So good that I’m headed back tonight!
Word to the wise: the doordash pickup service looks like it marks up each menu item by about five bucks, on top of the service fee - I advise ordering directly from the restaurant for takeaway.
Great Thai, had pad see euw. Food comes out hot and very spicy if requested. Nice ambiance, good location. Great staff.
We eat here often; we've never had a bad experience. Soups, fresh rolls and dumplings are delicious. Crawfish fried rice is another go-to.
excellent food and cocktails. spicy cucumber sealed the deal
Excellent food. We got 4-5 dishes and they were all delicious. Definitely order the Mongolian Beef and the fried rice.
One of my favorite Asian bistros in the area!
The food is great and Ciprian, the server was kind and very professional!
First time I was there, and he helped me decide and and explained about the dishes. Was very efficient and good energy!
The pictures are from another time I visited there with my friend, we had 2 different dishes :)
Terrible. I can't believe this was so expensive and so bad.
Tasted like cafeteria food. Even the crab puffs were stale...
Was really hoping for good Sichuan style Chinese! I am obsessed with a dry wok chili dish that is common across many Sichuan restaurants and I saw what seemed to be that dish on this menu. I used to love Red’s, have travelled throughout Yunnan Province, and just moved back from Seattle where the regional Chinese cuisine scene is amazing. Unfortunately, this really missed and was not spicy at all: no chilis or Sichuan peppercorns in sight. More Americanized and quality of ingredients and technique were not great.
This is such a hidden gem, we came here based on a recommendation from the cafe across the street and were not disappointed. We had their cucumber salad and shezuan tofu and it was perfect . Excellent flavor, fresh and healthy. It’s hard to find vegetarian and vegan places that taste good but Thai was amazing. Must try
Everyone in our group loved their food and we especially appreciated the vegan and vegetarian options
Decent!! Tasty and big portions which means lunch the next day..yum!
I took us quite a while to find good Chinese food in New Orleans, but luckily there's Zhang Bistro. We really enjoy their food! And it's now our go-to Chinese takeout!
Excellent restaurant in the quarter. Every dish was good, even though it's pan-Asian, the Thai, Indian and Chinese were all delicious. Service was very good, and prices are reasonable. Great choice!
Our favorite place had too long of a wait, so we walked around and spotted this place. Since one of us can't have wheat and they have a GF menu, we decided to give it a try. Food was quite good. Service was great. It can be a bit loud inside, plus you have the noise from the Quarter, but you don't go into the Quarter without expecting that. LOL Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans as well.
Delicious food, authentic flavors, and great staff. Highly recommend
We had the pot stickers and the wok steak and it was absolutely amazing. You will not be disappointed with anything u order here.
excellent in every way.
Have yet to try anything at this restaurant that wasn't delicious. Love it!
Some of the most disgusting food I've ever eaten 🤢 like how do you mess up pad Thai? The Tom yum soup was like salt water, the shrimp tasted sooo weird. Like a weird texture and slime on it. The mapu tofu was a watery mess.
Everyone was attentive and lovely
Simplemente genial; comida 10, precios razonables y lo mejor de todo su personal.
So many great options that I couldn't make an easy decision. Came to NOLA for the weekend and didn't think Asian would be on our menu options. Drinks, Appetizers & Entrée, all delicious.
We stumbled upon this restaurant in the French Market District. The food was authentic and enough to feed two. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had some great recommendations for appetizers and main dishes. We will be back. Highly recommended.
We were on a date night and wandering the quarter when we came upon this place. Loved the low-key vibe; we sat at the bar and our bartender was great, super friendly, and helpful. Food was good, can't remember what we ordered because we were all boozed up 😂
Marcus was our waiter and he's such an awesome person. The food and service was excellent.
Incredible food and the service was amazing! Great atmosphere!
We walked over a d rhe place is beautiful, the food amazing and the service excepcional! The host (also the owner) chatted with u for a while. Definetely recommend!
A great place to have a large party or just hang out by yourself or with a few friends. The food was excellent and the service was also.
We came here after a heavier day of drinking and it hit the spot. The atmosphere is nothing special. But the 2 appetizers we got were delicious. The roti and curry look very plain but we’re complex and full of flavor. The soup was full of veggies and flavor too. I would definitely stop by here again before or after a late night of partying!
Very good food 👌
Great food. Served super fast. Very accommodating of allergies. They have a separate vegan and gluten free menu if needed. Service was wonderful as well.
Everything is great except the pad tie
Incredible food, quick and friendly service, and great music! We're so glad we came!
Delicious food (garlic chili edamame, drunken man noodles, ma po tofu) and drinks (spicy margarita and ginger martini). Edamame were spicy and flavorful with just enough salt. Ma po had a good flavor. Drunken man noodles and drinks were the best. Drunken man noodle had a delicious, smoky flavor and hot was the perfect spice for me to start my nose running. Spicy margarita was sweet and limey and spicy. Ginger Martin was good. Good, fast service service and nice atmosphere.
I recently tried the crawfish fried rice with soft shell crabs, and it was fantastic! The dish had the perfect balance of flavors, with the tender crawfish complementing the crispy soft shell crabs. The rice was cooked to perfection, absorbing all the delicious seasoning. The server was incredibly friendly, providing attentive and welcoming service throughout my meal. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.
This is the best thai food I’ve ever eaten!! The staff was so kind and friendly, as well as super informative about every dish. I got the dry red chili chicken, and spicy shrimp fried rice. I was super super impressed. They also have a vegan and gluten free menu, so they’re super inclusive. Will recommend this place to anyone coming to New Orleans.
Was with a group of 8. Server was definitely overwhelmed and got our order wrong for a few different items. Food was good but not amazing. Duck was dry and not very good.
I've eaten here twice, sadly both times were very disappointing! 😕 The only redeeming quality about this place is the super sweet and friendly STAFF. The food, however, was mediocre at best. The spring rolls were mostly iceburg lettuce, and completely fell apart. The pad Thai was mushy, tasteless, and practically inedible! The curries both times were not impressive, and definitely lacking flavor. But then on top of that, the prices for everything are outrageous. Like seriously overpriced for what you get! Even the one cocktail I ordered (which, down the street is $5!) was a whopping $14. Just not worth the trouble. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
10/10
From the appetizers to the entrees! Everything was delicious!
The most delicious Chinese food I’ve ever had! The salt and pepper shrimp is amazing! And the spicy cucumber salad goes perfectly with it to cool the spice. Soooo good. So much flavor!
Got the kung pao chicken with egg fried rice and vegetable egg rolls. The food came out fast.
