Looks like they put a half a squirt in the end of the tray. Ordered shrimp fried rice which has always been loaded with veggies. Absolutely zero veggies. Drove the 45 minutes home to call and inform them of the mess up. No offer of discount, replaced meal, just that I can come back and pick up the sauces. Ohhh and to top it off 15% gratuity on to go orders (but it's because of inflation not a tip) but not included on in house orders?? Do better Basil

As a vegan and a vegetarian, my boyfriend and I found plenty of delicious options. The basil Thai entree with tofu and fried rice was warm, comforting and flavorful. Tofu fried rice and jungle curry were excellent as well. We received attentive, friendly service from the moment we entered. I'd recommend Basil of Monroe to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.

I am a big fan of Tom Kha soup especially with seafood proteins. They made exceptionally good Tom Kha. Fried Kalamari was good but it was kind of overpriced (my opinion), Pad Kee Maow was so delicious.

Overall food taste was 8.5/10 which I believe is really really good rating. Service was also standard, atmosphere was calm. Definitely deserves a revisit.

The food here was really great. There service here is amazing as well. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very professional and knows etiquette that most waiters don't. Food took longer than expected, but it was definitely worth it. I recommend this place if you're looking for a place to eat when you're in the area.

Great Thai food. Pho was very flavorful. I tried a few different things and had leftovers for two more meals. The portions are huge and wonderful! Will be a go-to spot for me when I’m in the area.

Not super huge on the food; every dish I've had so far has left me disappointed (yellow curry, herbal chicken, steamed dumplings, all only eh). The service is nice, and has improved greatly since I first tried coming here.

Food is Great!, I just happened that I'm used to RED BASIL In South Jordan, Utah. And So far, No one has been better. Even East Moon Bistro's in Lehi Utah is better especiallythe Sushi.
However. I think that BASIL of Monroe is the Best I've tried within Arkansas and Louisiana! And with a very little effort or few minor changes it would be Thee Very best 👌
And if y'all love it now, worth a little improvement y'all become addicted!!!

The food is never the same twice. This time nothing had any flavor. Ordered the lettuce wraps, no flavor. Red chicken curry no flavor... Spicy California roll also not good and room temp? Have been coming here for years and never leave disappointed. Food is consistent and the atmosphere is great.

I really like the chicken fried rice and the salmon nigiri because they are both delish. Jessica is a great server with a delightful smile that knows what she is doing. Best advice- order chicken fried rice when you get seated for a great appetizer and then give the sushi 🍣 a go. Don't forget to tip your waiter generously for exceptional service.

Called for a hour to never to be answered once.

Waited 50 minutes for a "15-20" minute to-go order, still charged 15% gratuity.

The food is really good, and the staff are great, but they seem overwhelmed most of the time. It's one of the busiest restaurants in Monroe and often you have to call multiple times for the line not to be busy to order to-go.
The staff really are kind and helpful, it just seems like they need more help at times. I'll continue to go because you can't beat the quality of the food in our area.

If you are habitual with thai food, this is not a place recommended to eat. Spices and herbs are missing and tastes merely like curry from frozen veggies and cold cuts.

I took myself to lunch eagerly wanting to try that place. When I walked in 3 servers up front were telling the host t9 n9t seat them. They finally decide whos.section I'm in. Thani get sat ask for extra extra extra lemons I was given 2. I start ordering food and the waiter tells me that quite a bit of food. My pho come out out just barely warm. I asked for extra limes got 2 little slivers. Finally I asked for a manager the lady told me he wasn't there but she could help me I explained all the issues I was having. Yes the waiter apologized for being rude and he didn't mean anything bad about the lot of food comment. I finally just had enough put most of my food to go and got out of there. The food itself was good but my whole experience sucked. They didn't give me any discounts on anything, which I thought was odd. At my restaurant that I serve tables in if there's a complaint like mine there would define been some sort of comp plus a appetizer or dessert. And That experience needed to be told

The only reason for the 4 in atmosphere is because it's so busy, they need more tables. It's a great problem to have. This is a top-notch restaurant in all aspects. Everything on the menu is worth trying.

We were seated pretty quickly for lunch. It was pretty busy so our food took awhile longer than you might like when hungry but for busy lunchtime, as expected. Our food was great. I had Beef Pho and do recommend it. We also had Green Tea ice cream and highly recommend it especially if you are looking for something not overly sweet. Staff was very friendly and that is always a plus!

Doesn’t even answer the phone during open hours. Tried to call to place an order and just gave up after a few tries.

Older Asian lady who sometimes answers the phone has no patience and can be rude. I was asking about a certain dish and she replies with, “You don’t know, you don’t order!!” It makes me not want to go there anymore and we’ve been going since they were Rawz on Sterlington Road. Just wish service was friendlier.

Really a hidden gem in Monroe. My entire family, including small children love Basil. Excellent service. The menu provides a variety of options with pictures. You could eat here everyday and never order the same thing twice. Very reasonably priced. Delicious!

Noodle dish, cashews dish, things like this, they won't have the ingredients listed on menu. Won't tell you. But will sell it to you, w what they got. I e. Noodle dish won't have the right noodles. No cashews, certain veggies. Basically not always what you pay for is what you get

I placed my TO GO order at 12:13. It was just handed to me at 1:23!!! It was only fried rice and egg rolls. I've seen people come in and eat and leave before getting my food. I freaking LOVE the food here, but every single time I place an order, something like this happens. Makes it very hard to want to return. Also disappointed seeing my nearly $30 lunch under the lamp for so long before she realized it was there! Would've been nice to eat it freshly made! I won't be back, but know y'all could care less.

They have great food. I left my bank card there and didn’t know it til the next morning. Called and they had found it. My server (Sarah) had turned it in immediately and they were happy to hold it until I could drive back. Very friendly staff.

Absolutely amazing service and delicious affordable food

First time at this restaurant today. Took a while to be seated. Took a while to get food and didn't enjoy what we had ordered. The Mongolian beef was one dimensional in flavor and did not have enough vegetables (would not recommend). The sauce tasted like soy sauce was just poured in...and that's it. This should be taken off menu as very poor rendition of that dish. The chicken teriyaki tasted like some chicken was added to bowl of rice and teriyaki sauce was poured on top. (Not impressed). Many other peoples food in the restaurant looked excellent though and next time will have to order something else. The sushi looked excellent so will have to try that next time. I think this restaurant has potential but overall not a good impression today.

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in the last year! First time try Thai food and my friends and I were blown away with the portion sizes and tastes. I highly recommend the soups.

Food is great and the service is excellent. The food is made fresh to order and they have a large variety of things to choose from. I’ve gone probably 10 times now and I can honestly say I’ve never disappointed. Shoutout to Sara!

Tried a Lobster roll for the first time tonight and it was absolute heaven! We visit this restaurant fairly often and have had just about everything on the menu. Love this place!

Food was good. I did take off marks due to every price on my ticket didn’t match their menu. They pointed to the front of the menu that said prices may change so I guess that’s my fault. If your prices went up 30% or more it’s time to change the menu. This is bad business.

Pad Thai is the most authentic item on the menu! Basil is the only place I know of in town that sells bubble tea (Thai Iced Tea) too bad its always a miss, today's fruity Boba was terrible and it ruined the tea - I won't order it again! 4 stars for great Pad Thai and excellent customer service.

Very disappointed with the service waited an hour for the food and when got home food was all wrong called them back to let them know they asked me to come back I was clear with them on the phone that I don’t want to wait please have it ready I drove there back when I arrived they try to charge me again for the food even though I had the wrong food with me to give to them back I didn’t want to pay again I just told them I wish they would of told me on the phone instead of me driving back for their mistake they have someone on the cash register who doesn’t speak English very disappointed with their service never go back again

Depends on what you get. I’ll had some REALLY good stuff (apps I’ve tried, pho, Vietnamese noodle bowl) but also okay stuff. Their Thai dishes are good but not authentic. And sushi is good depending on what roll you get.

I was disappointed because last time I ordered the summer sushi roll and the ingredients were completely different than what the menu said. 2-3 of the rolls still had plastic around the Kani.

Make sure you get what you ordered. If you have any doubts about your order, get a menu again and ask. They will not tell you that they messed up your order.
I ordered curry noodle from the menu. It supposed to come with shrimp, chicken, and BBC pork. When waitress brought it, it didn’t look right. I thought all the protein products are under the noodles, so I started to mix them up. I didn’t find anything inside. It all vegetables, then I thought, maybe I didn’t read the menu correctly that I must choose what I want, because other dishes has to be specific choice. So I asked to look at the menu. Curry noodles included shrimp, chicken, and BBC Pork with vegetables. I asked waitress about it and she said she will go ask the chef, upon returning, she said “ The chef laughingly said he forgot to put them in, it was right next to him and he said he will discount the food”. I asked , “so he was laughing”. I asked what’s the discount? She shrugged and she didn’t know. If the chef knew he made a mistake, he should have stoped it or told the waitress to bring back the dish. I told her this is not what I ordered and I would like to have new dish made.
She took it back to the kitchen. Now it took 20 minutes for the first order to come out, and I was certain that I had to wait another 20 minutes more, but to my surprise, she brought it back in less than 5 minutes. The chef just added protein to existing dish. I was very disappointed to the professionalism of the chef. The waitress was apologized many times and she was very professional. But I can tell she was frustrated.
Any other restaurant , chef, will remake the dish fresh after dish has returned to them it wasn’t made correctly.
If I had not noticed or not familiar with Thai dishes, this restaurant would have got away with serving wrong dish to a customer and charged full price. This is a very wrong practice and should be told to other customers.
If the waitress came back right after she served me and said, “chef made a mistake to your dish, he’s remaking it right now” . I would have appreciated the honesty and gave this restaurant 5 stars.

A menu item in the sushi section was marked with a *. At the header of the sushi section, * means cooked sushi. What we received was a lightly flambéd roll. I could immediately tell this wasn’t cooked, but I gave it a shot. I put in my mouth and couldn’t swallow it. I wish this was was described better on the menu. On top of that, the waiter was EXTREMELY rude. “Well you should have asked and I would have explained it.” Well excuse me, I expect when a item is marked as cooked to be cooked. I understand things are stressful in the restaurant industry, but there’s no reason to treat people like that. He didn’t refill our drinks and it took an hour to get our food, but I wasn’t upset until he said that line. We won’t be back and I don’t suggest anyone else to go. You don’t know what you’re getting for sure 🤷‍♀️

Ordered takeout pepper beef and got teriyaki beef which was chewy and of poor quality.
Extremely disappointed. Food at one point was so flavorful and meat was tender.
Certainly will not order takeout in future.

First of all they took around 30 minutes to take my order. Second, why would you bring the food and not utensils. Had to ask for it. And third, the server had dipped her finger in my rice bowl!!!. The only thing good was the food thats all. Even the place was a little shabby. Most probably will not go there again

#1 Appetizer: The crab and cream cheese rolls Handmade, with real crab meat, light, crunchy and AMAZING!! They will make you never look at a crab raagon the same again.

Very fair pricing. Basil does not disappoint. They have an enormous menu, so take your time in selecting. They do not have the fastest turn around time, so not the place to go if you’re in a hurry. You can call ahead, but even then, the wait time can be lengthy. I recommend it for sure

Caution And Beware!! The food was ok, but apparently they have increased all their menu prices and didn’t bother to tell the public. The prices listed in the menu are not what they charge you. They think they can get away with it by putting a small disclaimer on the front of the menu saying that prices are subject to change, and they will refuse to honor the menu price listed. When confronted, they said that food prices have gone up and new menus are too expensive, so basically tough luck, just pay us what we tell you to pay us. Eventually after an argument they agreed to only charge me what the menu prices were. I supported Basil during Covid, but won’t be back. I don’t like being tricked!

Varied menu, fresh sushi, and easy curbside pickup. I was glad to see they still take masks seriously and are working to keep their employees and customers safe.

This place has seen better days. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes just to have your drink taken with another fifteen for your order. Evidently they lost their liquor license for serving to minors, too. Quality of several items have been reduced to cut costs.

Used to be my go-to sushi place... The quality and the quantity of the appetizers drastically went down but the price remains the same!!!! Also this place no longer serves alcoholic beverages. I hope they’ll do better in the future.

Love this place. So glad they offer the diversity and variety of asian cultures! The King Pad Thai was my favorite this time. Nice mix of meat and veggies. Also got springrolls, dumplings(goyza), sushi and hot tea. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls is different than other ones I've had but still good! The goyza had a chunk of beef in the middle(or so it tasted) I was expecting a more mixed flavor with cabbage and other veggies. Still good tho. And of course- Hot Tea!

Absolutely STUNNING flavors. First time going and it definitely hit all the spots I was wanting. We shared the Crazi Maki sushi, Terriyaki Lobster bowl and one of the thai noodle plates. We also got the thai tea and taro boba to go. Perfection!!

I will never return to this restaurant the food mediocre and not worth the prices. The waitress I had seemed bothered to do her job. There were no pleasantries exchanged. Menus were handed out, which is not allowed during Covid. There is nothing positive for me to say about my experience.

Went to Basil tonight for a date night. The food was amazing, as usual. We enjoyed squid salad, salt & pepper squid, sashimi, and sushi rolls, all at the hands of our amazing waitress, Amy. She was absolutely outstanding. She was kind, she was real, she was quick, she was thorough, and she made us feel at home. She checked on us - but not too much - and our drinks stayed full. The next time you visit Basil, ask for Amy. She will truly enhance your experience.

We have been coming here a while now, since they first opened. At the beginning it was most definitely a 5 star restaurant. It NEVER disappointed. They were well staffed which made for super quick service, the food was always freshly cooked, and everything was presented beautifully every time. Sadly, here recently (recent as in the last 6+ months or so) there has been a noticeable difference/ decline in many things. The food is still delicious but it is not always fresh nor made with equal quality as before. The last few times I’ve eaten inside they were painfully slow and seemed short staffed. When we’ve done take-out there have been several times that there was a tiny mistake or something forgotten. I’m not sure if these changes are Covid related or if they have new management now but it’s definitely not the same as it used to be :((

Stopped for lunch. Good servers. Attentive. Ordered Thai chicken soup with coconut milk. Soup tasted old. Unlike western soups, Thai food normally has a very fresh taste to it. This did not.

As I told our nice waitress, I ordered Pad Woon Sen because it listed lots of veggies. Menu said, "glass noodles stir fried with egg, onions, napa, celery, red & green bell peppers, baby corn, broccoli, & mushrooms with sesame seed." I added shrimp. I got glass noodles with celery, white & green onions and thin strands of carrot ( 3 very inexpensive veggies) plus shrimp. Nothing else on the list! Not even egg and sesame seeds. They definitely had bell peppers & baby corn in the kitchen since those were in the dish my husband ordered, but none made it on my plate. What gives? Extremely disappointing!

Try the salmon skillet, but get the sea bass instead of the salmon.
