Great place for some delicious Thai food! My "Drunken Noodles" (ordered it medium spicy) was so good. My wife's
"Ginger Delight stir-fry" was da bomb! My sister's "Pine Apple Curry" had an amazing flavor! And my first time trying Thai iced tea, now I am hook. The service was great. Highly recommend this place.
Hidden in a parking lot on Vets is some yummy Americanized Thai food! Try the pineapple fried rice combo.! Main complaint is that the fried rice portions are too small for the price, for 20 bucks you should get a large serving, but this is more medium small. The coconut soup is delicious, as is the chef's special Golden fried soft-shell crabs. The mussels appetizer is a little underwhelming, but the calamari app is tasty, and the egg rolls are yummy. I am looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu.
Owner please read this review! I absolutely love this restaurant! The staff is so sweet and I’ve never had issues with order accuracy. The food is always amazing. BUT unfortunately the last few times I’ve ordered the new take out paper boxes have ruined any noodle dishes I order. The noodles get stuck to the bottom of the box and if you try to pull it up the box material gets stuck to the bottom making the food inedible. I have to waste almost all the noodles that touch the bottom. Please please please switch back to the old containers. :( I’m saddened to wasting my delicious food. I couldn’t leave a bad review because I know the boxes are not your fault.
First and foremost - loved the staff. Great people 🤍
Food wise - I am def not a Thai expert but back in Oct my friend in DC was waiting for me with some AMAZING Thai food. So since then I’ve been craving some Thai… sooo today I ended up coming to Zaap Cafe and ordered a few things.
The food was a little on the sweet side for me, so I did end up adding spicy & my daughter added soy sauce.
Edamame 5🤍 it was great.
Beef Pad Thai 3🤍 it was a but on the sweet side for me.
Spring rolls 2🤍 we didn’t love the Thai herbs.
Beef Thai Rice 3.5🤍 it could have been fried a bit more for me. It was a tad sweet so I did go heavy with the spicy and my daughter went heavy with the soy sauce.
As I mentioned - I am not a Thai expert so if what I explained is to be expected the food in 5⭐️. For all this we paid over $50 which I find to be a bit on the expensive side.
My husband and I LOVE this place! The food is fantastic, and the staff is so sweet and attentive. Our last visit we ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and Thai Basil. Both were cooked to perfection; the flavor is on point; the Thai tea was a perfect treat to top it off. We will be back!
This is another one of those strip mall hidden gems. Came here after restaurant hopping and ordered their yellow curry. The place is not very busy for dine in- saw a few takeout orders, but we ate in anyway. The service here is AMAZING!!! Very attentive staff and kind. Their yellow curry was drop dead delicious and is a large enough portion to split between 2 people. It was my first time having it with potatoes, as the ones I’ve had in the past used a different recipe without them. This place has your typical Thai staples from fried rice, curry, and pad Thai and pick your level of heat. Their hottest spicy wasn’t exactly as spicy as most Thai, but the food is so good, it didn’t matter either way. While this place is a little on the pricier side with offerings at $12-$30 a pop, it is definitely worth a shot for the flavorful taste of Thai food. An added bonus is the water here actually tastes like it is filtered, unlike most places in Louisiana where the water tastes like toilet water and may be very unsafe to drink (No I don’t know what toilet water tastes like, but use your imagination, folks).
Good food with quick service. All of the recommendations given to me by the hostess were fantastic and now I'm interested in trying out other menu items. It looks like the stuff I ordered was all Thai street food items.I did a takeout order and I was out of there in under 15 minutes.
I really enjoy spicy food so everything was perfect.
Just a heads up, Don't use the website to place an order. For whatever reason it sends the order to a location in Maryland and they always end up canceling the order. So just call your order in or do it in person.
Its a good strip mall restaurant that's tucked away nicely. A good quiet spot with good food.
I have never left a review this fast in my life. I am still sitting at the restaurant and had to leave this review. I have *never* been more welcomed to a restaurant than I was here today. Nong is a treasure! When I asked about getting tofu in the pad Thai, she said I could put any protein choice in any of those dishes. She said if anything had a vegetable we didn’t like, they would take it out. If we wanted to add a vegetable we did like, they would do that, too. The food was made to order, was fresh and delicious, and was served with big smiles, friendliness, and joy. She loves her job, and her customers are part of that, and, boy, does it show!! I wish I lived closer so we could patronize her business more frequently, but I will make trips specifically to come here. Thank you for such delightfully unexpected joy for what we hoped was just going to be a tasty Thai lunch. We feel like we have a new family member! Thank you, Nong!
A simple warm feeling spot with pretty good Thai food. I definitely recommend the drunken noodles! And just a very homie type atmosphere. Worth a shot to try if ever in Metairie.

Good food & waiter was very pleasant
My favorite Thai food in New Orleans or Metarie. Every time it’s constantly awesome and the unique flavors are perfectly blended!
Entrees were great! However, the appetizer was frozen in the center (outside was crisped nicely)
Super friendly servers. Yummy food. Cute place.
Great lunch menu. And the staff is always very friendly and welcoming.
Some of the best Thai food around.
Delicious food!
Amazing Thai food in a casual atmosphere with excellent service.
Wife and I have frequently visited this place, took just my daughter here for lunch as well.
Food is good, portions are fair. We'd love to come back, but the gentleman who has consistently been our server each time is less than desirable to have. He's always down in the dumps, borderline rude, not friendly or attentive.
If it wasn't for this guy, we'd come back, but until then, there are plenty of other places for us to eat at.
I recently had their Chicken Pad Thai and it was phenomenal! The lunch portion size and pricing was on point!
Nong is fabulous. The owner and staff are all very friendly.
I come here often and I’ve had nearly everything on the menu. And, I’m NEVER let down! The service and food are ALWAYS delicious and fresh.
Everything is very good!! 👍👍👍
My 1st time here and I will definitely be back!!
Best Thai food in Metairie! The flavor is super authentic. Love the roti, chicken satay, tom yum (sour soup), pad woonsen (glass noodles), and the whole fried fish (sauce on the side).
The food was great, the atmosphere was calm and pleasant, and the service was absolutely fantastic.
The owner and one of her servers can be very rude and cold toward you.My last two times there which were my last i ordered green curry and got a bowl of white milk, next time i tried the massaman curry and again it came out as a bowl of white milk, that was it for me.When people stop appreciating you coming in and spending your money its time to move on and try another place.Never, ever again.
This was a huge disappointment. Basically it's over-priced Chinese food. I order cream cheese rolls but it was just crab ragoon still from inside. I sent back for spring rolls and they were mini cabbage eggrolls. The mango seafood rice was $18 with very little mango, seafood and was just fried rice.
The Drunken Chicken was seasoned well, but had a very small amount of sliced chicken and veggies and the noodles were a little tough. It was a very good sized portion for the two of us.
Wonderful food! Friendly service. Clean and nice atmosphere.
My wife and i love this place. That summer parade duck is amazing.
Great food... good people!
They have very rude attitude towards the customers. I don’t eat meat and wanted to make sure that there’s no meat provided in the order (I had negative experience at another place where they added bacon on green bean which was not mentioned anywhere in the menu). So I wrote on the ubereats instructions that ‘don’t add any meats please’. They called and told me what I meant. After I explained, they said shrimp is meat too. I again explained by meat I meant chicken, pork and beef. Then they said ‘we don’t understand no meat’ and rudely told me that next time I shouldn’t write any instructions if I order from them.
My husband and I love coming here for lunch and dinner. It’s our go-to for Thai. We usually dine in but have also gotten to go and it never disappoints. I should mention that it’s some of the best and friendliest service that we’ve received. I highly recommend the Thai tea. I’ve even stopped in just for a Thai tea to-go. All around a great place to stop by, and they’re newly renovated.
The food was amazing! From the appetizers to the main dishes it was all great and flavourful. Also the service was great with the server knowing what we needed before we even asked.
I LOVE their pad Thai. I get it all the time. The atmosphere inside is pretty nice too, and the staff are very nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the mood for some Thai food.
Papaya salad, fresh spring rolls, cashew stir fry with tofu and veg, and mango sticky rice - all delicious and quick.
Very good Thai food and great service. Nice ambiance with a very clean atmosphere. Somehow, I lost my wallet there after paying. I did not notice it was missing until I was back home. As soon as I returned and the staff saw me, they let me know they had my wallet. Nothing missing! Good people!
Had the Shrimp Pad Thai. Asked for medium and it was WAY TO HOT. Couldn’t return it because I ordered it through Uber. Medium heat is not medium. It’s “ can’t eat it because it’s way too hot”
The servers were very nice and everything came out pretty quick, but I was not impressed with the food. We ordered more than what I'm going to list but here's the highlight:
The papaya salad and chicken salad (laab) portion were extremely small; barely any papaya or chicken in the salads. The crispy pork basil dish was also small ($25, not worth it). I was waiting for a burst of flavor when eating all the foods, but unfortunately that did not happened. Probably won't be back here.
very cute, clean, and cozy. i only ordered take out today but the wonderful woman who took my order and served it to me was the most pleasant and extremely personable.
now to the food! i ordered the chicken pad thai and it was mouth-watering AMAZING! it has been a struggle to find good thai food around here that isnt cajun-fusion and we have found that spot!! 10 stars all across the board.
Awesome
Service is good though chicken satay is a bit burn and pad Thai is too sweet.
Yellow curry & spring rolls were very good large portions
Always love this place! Great food for a great price.
Good food. Reasonable price.
I loved everything and I ordered the lemon grass spicy soup and it was delicious as helll!!!! 100/100
Great spot! Always the same lovely sweet server
Certainly one of the better Thai Restaurants in the area. I would go back if in the area, but would not necessarily go out of my way to go to Thai Zaap as there are other excellent Thai places in the New Orleans Area. No real complaints, though. I will likely go again as the food was tasty. I just have a hard time giving five stars for a less than excellent restaurant. (I wish it was a 10 point scale. I would give 9 out of 10.)
One of the best undiscovered Thai restaurants in this city.
We love this place. They have some of the best Thai food in this town.
Pad Thai was delish!
Best Thai tea, I have ever had! Outstanding, friendly, excellent customer service, you will feel like family there. Food is authentic and always delicious.
Always a pleasure eating at this hidden gem. The food is always fresh and cooked to order. You get to choose how much spice you want so you only burn your face off if you want to! I normally go during lunch time and it's not too busy and the service is good. Definitely reccomend!
Great food, great service. I eat here regularly and it’s very consistent. It is a must try!
Decent

Very small portions on plate ; for the price. Crab Rangoon ,appetiser. Tasted somewhat ok ; but could be bigger and better.i did like the waitress though She was very friendly and helpful !!!! She was willing to take pictures of our party at the table. It was my first time there. P.s I also did not really order and or eat enough to tell if any of their other food ; may have been any better.Still ,maybe worth your time and money to try ?
The food and customer service are great!!
Everything was delicious. Some of the best Thai I’ve had in Nola

Great authentic Thai food. Try the ribs!!!
Good food and fast service!
Only giving them three stars because their flavor is on point. But charging 18.00 for a pad Thai and having to pay extra for shrimp and then there was literally 2 shrimp in the entire order and this is a massive pile of noodles. Disappointing as it feels like a rip off. Especially when the photos used look like it contains a decent amount of protein.
Food was tasty but paid 18.00 and received 3 shrimp in pad Thai.
We had the Drunken Noodle and Thai Basil rice with fried tofu. Both were very good. Nice staff and atmosphere. Will come again when in area.
Excellent food and service, consistently!!!
The Best Pad Thai 😋
Awesome Thai food. Fresh spring rolls, coconut soup, special summer duck parade was the best duck I have ever had. The desserts were also great.
Will definitely be back.
First time eating Thai. $17 for fried rice. Seems kind of pricey. And it was overcooked, greasy, heavy. Also not crazy about the $2.50 can of Coke.
It was an okay restaurant it's a picture of the food doesn't resemble the real food .
First place visiting this spot! Love how cozy it is, clean, impecable service and food was fresh & tasty. Definitely a hidden gem…will be returning! P.S- we ordered lobster pad Thai, spring rolls & the chicken curry. Price was great also under 60$
First and foremost - loved the staff. Great people 🤍

Great food!
Food was great and waitress has a great personlity
Pad Thai was okay. The dish was gluten free but they included an egg roll which wasn't.
I love this place. The food is fantastic, the service is top-notch, and the ambience is wonderful. The menu offerings are terrific - everything from Tom Yum soup, to Pad See You noodles, to all sorts of delicious curries. The appetizers are great - some of the best egg rolls and spring rolls, and the desserts are also wonderful.
Lunch specials are also a great deal.
The only thing that I would like to see would be a full bar with mixed drinks. Right now they only serve beer (four brands) and wine (maybe a dozen types).
Literally the best Thai food I’ve ever had. So authentic and tasty with huge portions. All the staff is so sweet. An underrated gem!
This place is always good!
Very good food, this was the first time we have eaten there and will go again
Picked up my order, the place is very clean, and the staff is very friendly, in my book if the place is dirty, and nasty, and the staff is very rude and doesn't greet their customers then to me the food is not worth it, "but this place was very clean and the staff was very friendly, great atmosphere the staff greeted me assoon as I walked in 👏 👏 👏 👏!"
I ordered and paid for GREEN CURRY. I received yellow curry, which I detest! Now Thai Zaap will not pick up the phone. It’s 3:01pm on a Friday. I just wasted $24 of my life! Never again.
I went out of my comfort zone and tried something different...
I've been wanting to try Pad Thai ever since my boss told me about it, so I went to try it here. I have to say, the appetizers were great, and the Pad Thai was too...at first. But it was definitely NOT what I thought it would be. I know I personally won't order it again, but everyone has different tastes and a lot of people say Pad Thai is really good. But, it's just not for me.. (And since I don't eat onions or peanuts, that probably changed the flavor and made it too sweet. I prefer savory and herby types of food, not so much the sweet & soury types).
The other dish we ordered was this soft shell crab dish. At first sight, I thought there was too much juice. It had a good flavor and blended well with the soft shell crab and rice.
I gave them 4 stars because it just wasn't my cup of tea, so to speak, but the service was quick and the food was good. But for me, I'll stick to fried rice from now on. We may be back again, but I'll be eating something different...
The best Tai food I've had in a while. I had the coconut curry chicken, mussels, and chicken satay. Everything was delicious. Our server, I believe her name was Mei, was amazing and so sweet.
The staff is very sweet and friendly, and the restaurant appears clean. However, the food has average flavor and the prices are a little high for such a casual spot. Also, I saw TWO DEAD ROACHES in the dining room( one on the floor and one in the fountain)... we will not eat here again.
The pad thai is GREAT - umami flavor (DELICIOUS) - got it with tofu - Stir fry glass noodle (clear rice vermicelli) with bean sprouts, egg, green onions, carrots, and ground peanuts, with a ground pepper spice to sprinkle for taste, and a wedge of lime to spritz on top. MMMMM! Wife had the massaman curry - like a mild indian korma, but a little different. Peanuts, potatoes, onions, and carrots in a curry sauce with coconut milk, and rice on the side. It was soooo good. Also, their egg rolls come with the lunch special and are some of the BEST with a light sweet thai chili sauce to dip in. The next day (yes it's that good!) had the drunken noodle (no alcohol - legendary hangover cure, or street food sometimes paired with adult beverage - hence the name) SAVORY with stir fried flat rice noodles, tofu again for the protein, bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, onions, basil, and chili (spice can be adjusted to taste when ordering) and Wife had the yellow curry chicken stir fried rice - think chinese fried rice with added coconut milk, and curry flavor! Clean, fair price, fresh exotic food, and nice folks running the place!
I called to place an order and the lady I talked to was very sweet. She was also very knowledgeable about what items are gluten free. Fast preparation, food tasted great and a staff that is pleasant = 5 stars!!
We went here for the first time yesterday and our waitress couldn’t have been any sweeter. We ordered the Panang curry, Thai fried rice and tom kha soup. Large portions and it was all very delicious.
Amazing food. All of the curries are so velvety and delicious!!
The staff is incredible!!
We highly recommend this place for amazing Thai food.
Hi everyone, I recently moved from Louisville to New Orleans. Once arriving in the city, the first restaurant I ate at was Thai Zapp. It was by accident.
Let me tell you, this is one of the best accidents I have ever made when coming to dining. The staff is beyond friendly and make you feel very welcomed. The Prices are fair, & the food is amazing. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Highly recommend you go here when you are in the New Orleans area & want some Thai food. There is no better location.
First, the food here is amazing. My boyfriend ordered the best crab fried rice we have ever tasted. The mango curry I ordered was also very good. The lady who runs the restaurant is the most kind-hearted person in the world. We received amazing service, and will be coming back in a few days!
I love this place! Fantastic food and great service always. This place is hands down my favorite Thia restaurant.
Great menu options with great service and prices. One of my favorites.
The food is always delicious and the folks who run it are as sweet as can be. My wife and I don't even live nearby but anytime we're in the area and hungry, Thai Zaap is usually our first choice. Highly recommend!
I come here faithfully usually to get the pineapple fried rice. Recently the quality was off so I decided to try one more go at something new. I ordered garlic chicken.
There literally are 6 pieces of chicken in the container with some lettuce and other veggies. The rice container was only half full, but it wouldn't have mattered since there is barely any food to go on it. It is definitely not worth $15. I could have gone to a Chinese takeout spot and gotten way more for that amount. This is not even enough for a single serving.
I am so disappointed because this used to be one of my favorite places. But it seems they are trying to cut corners now and I will have to take a break from them. The customer service is always nice though.
Awesome Thai food, and lots of FRESH veggies!!!! Try the Thai iced coffee, it's delicious 😋
Friendy accomadating front of house and very good and fresh cooked meals
Delicious here!!!! Loved the green curry with mango!!!
Great Thai food, excellent service.
First, you cant go wrong with pad thai. It's one of the iconic thai dishes customers order. I've ordered the chicken pad thai, just to be simple. Too much sauce, I prefer like a fettuccine type noodles, they use rice noodles. No bean sprouts or if there were any, it was only one sprout. So, the dish was ok but not the best compared to authentic thai food. Also, I had the thai fried rice. I might as well could've ordered from a chinese restaurant. Not the best, it taste and looks like any ordinary Chinese fried rice with chunks of tomatoes. This place has new owners, not the same as Siamese which was way better and more authentic.
I ordered papaya salad & thai beef salad. Neither one of the dishes had enough spice at all. As a matter of fact thai food is normally hot & when you order they normally ask how hot you want it. I was never asked. Since I didn't ask the food barely had any spice at all & I was offered the spice on the side. The papaya salad was made with ripe papaya & I would have liked it to be green & all it had in it was rip papaya, peanuts & shredded carrots. I had way better elsewhere with more ingredients. The beef salad was ok but nothing that I would order again. Can't say much for service since i went while we were under quarantine & just picked up the order. I did call back & told them that I wanted the food thai hot but was told I would get the spice on the side. Sticky rice was extra charge of $2.
I really like this restaurant. It's quiet with soft music. The food is very good and always fresh. Very enjoyable!!!
Stopped in for a unplanned lunch. Nice and clean on entry. Staff was friendly. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai. Was served a spring roll. All washed down with a beer from Thailand.
They had a lot of walk in take out lunch while there. I recommend this place.
Didn't meet my expectations food was just regular and I bit over price
I had the pleasure of having lunch here. It was truly wonderful. The owner was a delight. The food was outstanding. Highly recommended!
Thai basil stir fry is the most flavorful dish I've tasted!
Had Pad Thai and if I didn't know what it was supposed to taste like it would have been fine. It had a hit of tomatoes like spaghetti 😬🤫
One of the employees is not polite and she screamed at me .. I will not back to this store anymore.
Really delicious Thai food with traditional favorites and customizations to your preference. Really friend staff will help you decide on the perfect meal, and they will make everything to order according to your specifications. Large portions and big menu - these are just my favorites:
Appetizers
✅ Crispy Wonton
✅ Spring Rolls
✅ Tofu
Soups
✅ Coconut Soup with Shrimp or Tofu
Entrees
✅ Massaman Curry with Brown Rice
✅ Pad Thai Spicy
Beverages
✅ Jasmine or Green Tea
Dessert
✅ Next time!
Amazing food!!!!! I wish I could give it more than five stars!
We had an excellent experience for the first time dining in. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful with the menu. The food was fresh and very tasty. The restaurant was clean and we did not have to wait for the food at all. We will definitely try this place out again.
Delicious food and great service. Been happy every time I come here.
If you love Thai food come here! The location may give you second thoughts but trust me you need to give it a try. The Food is Excellent!!!! It was our first time going with my wife loved it!!!!! They have kids menu as well so kid friendly restaurant. Great service and environment is was nice. We just moved to Jefferson parish and we found our Favorite Thai Restaurant!!!!
Good food and friendly service. Atmosphere is relaxing. Portion size is good (not too much, just enough).
Complimentary Spring roll.
Absolutely wonderful food and service! Even when it's delivered they include complimentary little eggroll with sauce that they generally give in person.
I recommend trying their Lunch Specials during the week for the affordable price drop!
(As for food: I recommend the Yellow Curry with chicken and the Thai Iced Tea if you'd like to try something sweet to go with it.)
Buena comida
Best Thai restaurant in town!
My first time having Authentic Thai Food and it didn't disappoint. Ordered Lemongrass Soup and Green Curry Curry Soup. They both hit the spot for this chilly weather.
Always good food and service. Lots of take out business.
Delicious food, friendly helpful staff!
Very good food
Is the best thai
Very good Some of the best Thai on the south shore.
The food was fantastic, and the service is awesome as well. Will definitely come back!
First time really really good
Pretty good food but overpriced. Great chicken larb.
I got the Drunken Noodle, sticky rice, crab rangoon, fried bananas, and ice cream.
You know what wasn't very good?
Eating all this amazing food by myself.
Loved this place, I will absolutely order from here again.
Food is ok nothing special but the problem is the big prices and amount of food you get for your money. I ordered the fire green beans for $15 and it was so small. Will never go back to this place.
Good food and service
Ok
Very good Thai food and a family atmosphere.
Best curry in town, and the fried rice dishes are unbelievable.
