Song Phi Nong is dedicated to the preparation of authentic Thai cuisine. We offer a wide variety of Thai dishes from the popular to the traditional.

Service was attentive and friendly, with staff recommending great dishes. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity offered, making it an excellent choice for both casual dining and special occasions.
Overall, it is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine. With its delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service, it’s sure to become a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike.
In the middle of Houma, this Thai restaurant had lots of people when I arrive on a Tuesday evening.
When it was filled with non-asians I had my doubts . It had good ratings so I stuck it out.
I was seated quickly and food came out very fast. Service was good and people were nice.
Food , though not as authentic as I would like it was good and could pass for Thai food.
The portions were large with plenty of protein like , shrimp, chicken etc. Most people will not leave hungry.
The beef noodle , though good was more Vietnamese pho style.
Shrimp Bean thread noodle
Salad was large and tasty. Mince chicken salad was little on the dry side but regardless, lots of chicken. They are not skimming.
For Houma Louisiana, This place had good value, decent food, service was prompt, and respectful. Good casual Thai / Vietnamese dinning.
Arrived at about 12:15pm. Parking lot was full, only 1 spot left. It’s one big dining room.
We were seated immediately…so don’t be fooled by the parking lot. Only one floor so handicap accessible. I got the green curry with chicken. It was great and had enough to bring home. Dumpling and spring rolls were delicious. You can choose hottness from 0 to 5. I got a 1 and it was on the border of being too hot for me. Wife got 2 and she was fine.
Service was great. It needs a little more atmosphere but prices were very reasonable.
Seated right away, excellent customer service the entire time, food came quickly- and it was DELICIOUS. They even had sticky rice & mango dessert despite mango not really being in season. PLUS it was incredibly affordable. Will be coming back whenever I am in the area.
Great for vegans or vegetarians.
Omg where do I start? I'd never been here before but I love it and will definitely be going back. The food was great. Customer service was great. Atmosphere was on point. The owner came out and hung out with us which was absolutely awesome. They have so many gluten free and vegan options which totally won me over. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a must that you go there and find out for yourself. There was so much food served my first two pics are of my to go plates and that's after we had eaten a lot . This is the amount we took home so it was well worth it.
We visited for dinner around 6pm, on Friday.
Environment
Busy but spacious enough so that you can't hear other people's table conversation. The restrooms were fairly clean.
Service
There were empty tables but not enough servers for all the tables, so it took a little over 30mins to get seated. Once seated we were serviced fairly quickly. Our wait for food didnt seem long.
Food
Everything was good. Family ate all of their plate. I ordered the ginger sauce with chicken and it was a bit too sweet for me to eat it all. I also ordered the thai tea which i loved.
Price
The kids plate was $10 (chicken fried rice) but was the same dish size as adult (see pic). Our adult plates were $13 (ginger sauce w/chicken and yellow curry w/chicken). Meals were not more expensive than other restaurants, nowadays.
Other than wait time to get a table, we had a good experience and would be willing to come back. They are hiring so hopefully wait times get shorter.
Today was the first time we went eat since they opened. It didn’t disappoint!! I had the Pad La Na with beef and my husband had The Masaman Curry with chicken. I love that they do a “hot scale” and allow you to pick from 0-5, they also bring extra chili powder to the table just incase you want more spice. The food was very good and the wait staff was very friendly and informative. The decor left something to be desired though.
Amazing curry. You got to try it
The absolute best Pad Thai I’ve ever had!! Food always fresh and hot service has always been fast!!! Haven’t had a bad meal or experience there ever
Everything is fantastic. My favorites are Lettuce Wraps and Combination Fried Rice. The Wong Ton soup is the best I’ve eaten anywhere.
I had the Drunken Noodles with shrimp. The noodles & veggies themselves were delicious but the shrimp had a not so shrimpy taste. I would order the drunken noodles again but not with shrimp.
I’ve been coming here for years now. This place doesn’t deserve anything under five stars. From amazing food, portions, service, this place does it every single time!! I can rave all day every day about it. Will always be my favorite place in Houma, and really just in general one of the best places I’ve been to. Thanks!
I LOVE THE CURRY.

I ordered takeout of pineapple fried rice and WOW, the portion sizes are the best I've seen anywhere! This will last me three meals and was delicious. Great service. About $16 but that's not bad considering how much you get.
Great food, I liked my server and they were good at their job.
Always great service food is perfect for taking some home

Great Thai food , great service! Might want to brighten up the walls a bit, but the food and people outshadow the walls.
Great great service. Went out of their way to help with my dietary needs and with both patience and smiles. Thank you.

love the food, atmosphere, and craft beer selection. Just which they were open on weekends! really disappointed when we showed up Saturday evening.
I love the service here. Everyone is super nice and attentive even when it gets crowded. I'm not a fan of the atmosphere and I thought after moving into a former gym they would have made it look more fancy. But it's still just an empty gym with a few decorations. The food is decent but not consistent. I remember when they first opened at their old location and the food was so good then. It's gone downhill but we'll never stop eating here
I liked the Pad Thai flavor better when they first opened years ago.
Good Thai food here.
Food was delicious
Love this place , love the servers, love the owners, love Ms. SUE and all her plants!! She even gave me clippings for me to grow!! This place feels like family!
Love my mixed veggies, no mushrooms, no water chestnuts no meat level 4 !! ;) ;) -Tracie
Love this place. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I always get the Mee Grub and Song Phi Nong Fried Rice heat level 2 (or 3 if it's cold outside). Those two mixed together are enough for three meals. Definitely give them a try.
I get take out every time and I order the same thing. F7 fried rice with a level 2. It never disappoints! It is more than enough. It serves my husband and I two days worth lol. It’s amazing!!
Food is fresh, delicious and outstanding. Place is clean. Service is excellent.
Food was awesome!
The best restaurant in Houma. Food is reallly amazing. The service is excellent. Definitely a place you must visit..Cost $...Taste is 5/5. Fantastic value.
My entree was too sweet for my taste and the hotness level (3) wasn't hot at all. Overall I enjoyed the company of family outing.
Great food
The service was top notch!! We plan on returning.

Plain Jane building in new location. That said.. food and service is ALWAYS impeccable! Love to eat at this place. Their food is always excellent.
They serve the best Pad Thai I’ve ever eaten. Delicious!
Bad food
The new location has a more modern atmosphere and background music than the original restaurant. You do still get a taste of the Thai roots at the entryway. And the food is still great as usual
Always good. Fast service. Friendly staff. More food than you can eat. Thai tea is always great.
Good service, nice food and people verte kindly
It's one of our favorite places ! If you like Thai food, check them out. Don't be greedy, bring a friend. Dont keep them a secret like it's your grandpa's favorite fishing hole !
I always enjoy eating Yellow veggie curry at a level 5 when I go there. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is nice with a wonderful staff. Please stop by and see for yourself.
If I could leave a negative star review I would. We got the dumplings as an appetizer and they were ok at best but what was their downfall was some crumble they sprinkled on top of the dumpling. Whatever they crumbled on it was completely stale and hard when bitten. We got a chicken and beef noodle soups as a main dish, usually getting your meal in a timely manner is a good thing not in this case. You could taste how carelessly they threw together whatever ingredients they had with no effort to even give it any flavor the chicken soup tasted like canned vegetable juice and the beef soup was just heavy amounts of beef bouillon and water with the most undercooked rice noodle We’ve ever had. -5 do not recommend
Drunken noodles were amazing. My date got Pad Thai and it was also very good. If I'm in town again I will definitely be stopping by.
Hands down the best Thai food in the area.
This restaurant is the standard by which I judge all Thai food. I have tried a ton of restaurants since eating here and nothing has compared.
I'm on the north shore now and was excited because there are so many to choose from, but only one has even approached the quality of food and customer service or Song Phi Nong.
If you like thai and live in Houma, it may be your only option but even if it wasn't, it would still be the best option!
Stop giving ur money to them!!! the owner is a terrible person and does not treat her workers with respect.
Food was AMAZING yellow curry was sooooo good and the pad see ew noodles were delicious. definitely coming back for moreee. service was great of course
First time eating here. Went to lunch here, with some friends, from high school. The food was really good. Had the Drunken Noodles, with the beef. The restaurant was clean, and so were the restrooms. The service was excellent, and they never complained when we stayed talking for an hour after our meal was finished. Would eat here again !! 😋
Enjoyed and nice place
Great place to eat we stopped by when we were in town for business. The portions were huge and the prices are super cheap for what you are getting. Where I'm from you pay more for only half the portion they gave us. The Thai tea wasnt as strong as I like it but everything was tasty and definitely worth it!
The dining area is spacious, clean, and cool. The service was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was better than I could ever have imagined. This was my first visit but it definitely isn't my last. I don't live in Houma but I will eat here every time I'm there to visit family.
I’m from out of town here for training at Sparrows. First time to try this restaurant. WOW it has great. Had the Yellow Curry.
Super relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious. You get your money's worth on food. The service was super nice and attentive.
Please start opening on weekends. Thats when most people love to relax and dine!
The food was amazing. The service was impeccable. Certain dishes are a bit sweet but just go with a higher spice level to balance out the heat (if you want).
Great food, great service.
Food is great
Best food in town.
This is a sad example of people not knowing anything about ethnic food and eating it high because they don't know. It was not very good Thai at all. What came out was pretty poorly executed. I almost offered a Gordon Ramsey training on how to make the drunken noodles. The other meal wasn't terrible but the red curry could've been more than mostly broth.
Spring rolls are skimpy. No crabmeat in the fresh rolls. Overall just poor quality for the price
I understand you sell for people in Houma but we don't put carrots in larb and mussamun is only sweet please improve I very disappointed 😞
Omg where do I start? I'd never been here before but I love it and will definitely be going back. The food was great. Customer service was great. Atmosphere was on point. It's good Thai food for Houma.
Is a good place to eat and enjoy the service. I recommend it.
Westernized Thai Cuisine. Good flavor, very large portions. Service was quick and friendly. Lots of American customers.
Very good food but why in the world are they closed on Saturday
Excellent Thai Food. Very clean restaurant!
The food and service are both excellent. I eat here often.
If you like spicy food, their scale is 1 to 5. 5 was almost too spicy to eat, 4 is pretty dang spicy, 3 seems to be the sweet spot.
The food and service is always excellent at Song Phi Nong. We love it. Wait staff was great.
Amazing food, great service!
Best Thai food in the area. Super great staff. Super awesome beer selection.
Super delicious Thai food! Been to a few Thai places, this one is definitely top 3 for me. Fun atmosphere and laid back too.
Amazing food! Had the Mee Grub and it was one of the best curries I’ve ever had. On top of that, the people were great. Keep up the good job. I’ll be back.
Very good food
Want to eat the Song Phi Nong fried rice for the rest of my life.
The atmosphere was not what I expected, it was more comfortable than traditional, which was a great change.
The staff was amazing, genuine, and kind.
A staff member actually said he loved my pull-over jacket while passing by and it made me feel nice and happy.
Really delicious food! The only issue was the pad see ew was EXTREMELY salty... Inedible kind of salty!
Staff and waiters/ress was super kind and offered to clear it from our bill. The curries are extremely delicious!
Best fried rice in town, delicious fried wontons.
My first time and I ordered the red curry. The waiter said it was like an etoufee so I tried it. I’ve eaten quite a bit of curry in other countries but I didn’t know Thai curry is different from Indian curry which I did not know until I got the bill and the waiter told me so. He asked me how was everything and I said not good at all. It was a soup and very sweet. No other taste and they brought some kind of spice to sprinkle on it. I was expecting a pepper sauce. Maybe this is an example of Thai food but I will never go back.
We visited for dinner around 6pm, on Friday.

Place is great they just need workers and nicer workers. I know thats hard to find right now. But once u finally sit down, the food wont take long.
We drive from out of town to eat here. No matter what you get, it will be incredible! Staff is attentive and pleasant.
I liked the food
Good food and atmosphere. Service was a little scattered when I was there.
Amazing Pad Thai noodles. Brought my mom and dad there. They loved it as well. The service was great too. Thanks and God Bless!!!
The worst Thai food I have ever eaten. Tom Kar Gai (coconut chicken soup) tasted like straight fish sauce. Chicken noodle soup tasted like water. Fried rice was bland. Pad Thai was okay. Only good thing I bought was the crab puffs. Waste of $70.
The food was great nice and spicy and their prices were so low hard to believe will have to come back
Very good food with lits of options. Wait staff very knowledgeable on food prep and level of spice options.
A different enjoyable experience.. Very friendly folks.
We LOVE Song Phi Nong. Always delicious food. The only complaint I have is that they close entirely too early. I think 9:00pm would be a much more reasonable time.
Panang curry was excellent.
Excellent Pad Thai
First time eating here, the food and service was very good. We'll definitely be back!!!
The green curry is out of this world good!
Pad Thai was great. Drunken Noodles were very good. Pot stickers and crab puffs excellent.
Best Thai food I’ve ever had, great place, very clean
Ordered yum woon sen and what I got barely qualified. No peanuts, no garlic, no tomato, no onion, no spice. Basically just diced chicken, a few shrimps, lime-juice, noddles, and iceberg lettuce, the cheapest, blandest vegetable possible. Speaking as someone who routinely makes yum woon sen at home, this was terribly disappointing. The only reason it wasn't one star is the noddles were cooked perfectly.
Recently moved to new Houma location.. 2022
Song Phi Nong can sure make some fancy rice, but we started with Spring Rolls, which were light and delicious dipped in the sauce with which they are served. Back to the rice. The Massaman Curry with cashews treats the white rice like hot fudge does to a Sundae. Highly recommended. The Combination Fried Rice was equally delicious, but I found it a little skimpy on the shrimp, chicken, and beef. The atmosphere is cold and the temperature was cold, as well. Seems like they have a few things to work out regarding decor and giving it a warmer feel. We shall return.
Best Thai
This is hands down the best Thai food place I’ve ever eaten at. The pad Thai noodles are so good, and they are amazing about allowing you to customize it how you want. My only “complaint” is the new location was kind of cold. But I’ll gladly bring a jacket for the food!
I love this place! The food was quick and delicious and the spice levels are pretty good. We got the fried rice with chicken- very generous portion, spring rolls- crispy and delightful, pad see ew- YUM! Usually I get a level 3 for spice which is just a bit of a kick, but I was feeling a bit brave and I went up to 4 and it was nice and hot and it made my lips tingle. Definitely will be adding this to a weekly rotation!
Great service and Great food. Can't go wrong. I tell all of my friends about this place.
This place is as good or better as any Thai place that we have in New Orleans. Love the red curry dishes and the ability to order to the exact level of spice wanted. Fantastic craft beer selection.
Very clean place, Food is good, and staff is awesome and accommodating! 💛
The food was great. Their heater isn't working so it was very cold inside. They serve your food in to go plates. They did just recently open up in their new location.
I’ve never in my life witnessed so many people get up and leave a restaurant without being served.
I understand the staffing shortage but it’s a shame the few warm bodies don’t even have the etiquette and common sense to greet customers.
I was going to give it one star, but the service was decent. My husband had the chicken curry and became sick afterwards. We are from New York and I guess we have been spoiled with actual authentic Thai dishes. We actually spoke to the woman claiming to be the owner and she basically ignored our complaint. She is Asian and it looks like she eats well, so I am guessing she goes to the other Thai restaurant. The price and food quality were below par. I was very disappointed ☹️.
Great service and excellent food. It’s always super fresh. Order the Pad Thai. It’s the best I’ve ever had!
Great place! For starters, I am a Thai food connoisseur, married to a Thai chef, have been to Thailand 7 times, and have been to countless Thai restaurants in the U.S. The friendly owner, Mrs. Yupha... she is the real deal and dishes out authentic dishes and cuts no corners. Very impressive Thai restaurants for a small city. My waiter, DeQuincy, was very friendly and attentive. I'm not in Houma often... went to the first Song Phi Nong location years back, and was not disappointed in their new location after I looked it up. Will be back ... it's a must if in Houma.
Wonderful service staff at Song. Great Thai food, great craft beer, and even better people.
Used to be good
4-7-20: So its been three years since my first review
I drove out to location because their social media page stated they where open, however upon arriving was told they are open but not taking orders because to many called ahead.
Two weeks ago I was told that I couldn't have as much spice as I would if I dined in when I do takeout. However during a quarantine this option was not available to me. I didn't want to update my five star review because of a single incident.
12-31-20: Things have improved since my last review. Hoping things stay the course.
7-21-21: Pepper mix appears to be less spicy than it used to be. Staff (a particular individual) attitude appears to have improved.
7-24-21: I do not believe I will be going back. Unfortunately I've found when I go to the restaurant and order either takeout (in store or from my number) or I dine in I'm given food that taste different then when I have family or friends order and pickup. Now I do have certain issues later on.
The food was delicious and the service was awesome!
Very good! Great service.
Worst Thai food I have ever eaten. I think the 4.7 rating proves that people of Houma don’t know any better, bless their hearts.Worst spring rolls I have ever eaten and the peanut sauce is watered down. Wonton soup very bland even though I ordered a level 4. Sweet and Sour Stir Fry was watery because ‘’ I ordered extra sauce.’’ So when you ask for extra ketchup at lets say Mcdonalds do they open the packets and add water to the ketchup and put it in a cup for you or do they give you more of the original content? Well Song Phi Nong employees really struggle with that concept hence the picture below. Quite shocked at how busy this place is but hey continue to get ripped off Im going for better next time. More specifically Thai Zaap Cafe’ in Metarie. I recommend the Pork Green Curry at Zaap, also the Lemongrass soup; drink: Lemonade! best you ever had. F*** Song Phi Nong
My favorite place to visit in Houma! Beer selection is always great and food is amazing!
Really good!
would give it 5 starts but for the horrible 90s 'alternative' radio music.
should have traditional thai music instead. i won't eat in here anymore because of the cringeworthy music.
Shrimp/Chicken pad thai with Thai tea is fantastic!
Always good food and service!
Everything here is amazing. The portions are very generous and the customer service is informal but always excellent. A very relaxed atmosphere.
Best Thai food between here and Maui! Nothing else in Louisiana comes close.
Plus the best, choicest beer selection within a sixty mile radius.
This is a place of kings.
Very friendly staff and the food was great! Had enough to bring leftovers home for another meal!
Casual food and service. Nothing exceptional, but popular with locals.
The food was good. I had the ginger shrimp. I had to send back my Thai coffee I'm not sure what they use to make it but it was the worst I've ever tried. They could use a lunch menu. Prices are ok for dinner. Too much for a quick lunch.
A friend of ours brought us for dinner and have been hooked since then. The family and I are from orlando and I can tell you this place is better than allot of places in the O-town. We travel to Louisiana quite often to visit my in-laws and we always make sure we have dinner here. Been coming here for years. I come all the way from o town for their pad thai and some great craft beer. Great price great food! It's a must try!
One of houma's best kept secrets. VERY casual dining, with no table cloths keep the rich and famous at bay. Superb, but eclectic beer choices, should stick to their forte,. THAI food and THAI beverages. My # 1 choice for awesome food!
When we read the name.. we thought some ugly chinese restaurant with the same old lo mein and fried rice on the Menu... On reaching the place the restaurant was quiet, calm ambience, drinks section on one side, food section on the other.. nicely distanced table.. good decent crowd... The server was polite and friendly... The menu had lot of Thai cuisines on it.. we ordered chkn pad thai & red curry with white rice.. we asked the server for the qunatity as we are heavy eaters and big foodies.. he was polite to offer extra jamine rice complimentory.... then finally after a shortwhile the food arrived.... &&&&&... It looked so AWESOME!!!! it smelled AWESOME!!! The Aroma was so good..The quantity.... The presentation in the curvy big bowl... full of pad thai noodles and the other loaded with lot of veggies, chkn and so much of curry was mind blowing... That is called the AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD!!!! The Taste was DELICIOUS... The Taste buds were truly satisfied... HIGLY RECOMMENDED... worth every penny... Value for money... Great taste.. Great Quantity...Hope they continue the good food.. good taste..👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👌👌👌
First time trying their food and I'm hooked!
