This was the best Thai food my wife and I have ever had, especially the chicken pad Thai! We do not know how they make it but all the textures are perfect from the noodles to the extremely creamy peanut sauce.

The service is also fantastic! It is a small restaurant where Mom cooks in the back with help from the Dad and the son waits tables.

I highly recommend giving them a try! You will not be disappointed! You will be extremely full and miserable but not disappointed ha

Hot Thai food, best fried tofu in the area. Chicken wontons are very good. Ample vegetables on the stir fry and pad Thai is pretty good.
Stir fried cashews are good as well.

So Justin & I have been looking for a great Thai place and it looks like we found it!! I ordered to go and order the combination pad thai, wings and garlic chicken. Everything tasted fresh and the bachoy in the garlic chicken was excellent! Very flavorful and I also need to mention that the interior of the restaurant is beautiful! The chicken wings were so good Justin ate them all except for one for me to try! So happy we gave Rakong a try, we were very impressed!

Excellent food and service. Taste of real thai and very fresh. We live in the neighborhood and love to order here. It is a small spot and fills up quickly. We order to go. Bote that you have to get your orders in before 1:30 pm as the kitchen closes.

We couldn't resist another visit! We were visiting friends in the area and returned to this Thai restaurant. We were so delighted to do so! Once more, it exceeded our expectations. The food is simply amazing, the staff is friendly, and the prices are great. We highly recommend it!

This is the 2nd time at this restaurant and all I can say is WOW. Fantastic food, Great service and a wonderful atmosphere make this small family owned restaurant an absolute must try. The Thai food is definitely a step above every other Thai restaurant that I have eaten at. I had the Pad Thai on my first visit and the Pad woo sen on my 2nd visit and i can't decide which is better. My wife thoroughly enjoyed 2 of the curry dishes on our visits. We will have to keep going back to try more dishes. Excellent!

According to them, they close at 7:30. But we showed up there at 7:05 on a Friday night, and they said that they weren't seating anyone, because they would be closing soon. If you are going to be open til 7:30, then be open until then. If not, then be transparent.

Wonderful restaurant! The Green Curry and Pad Prik Khing had just the right amount of spice for us. The Pad Yhai was more flavorful than at other local Thai restaurants.

Among many Thai restaurants on the North Shore, Rakong is in a class by itself. The food is fresh, delicious, and consistent. The service is perfectly friendly and not intrusive. The atmosphere is simple and elegant yet laid back and comfortable. My favorite is the Panang Curry, which has big chunks of avocado and bell peppers in a velvety coconut milk based sauce. I love that I can get either steamed or fried tofu as my protein, too. Both are perfectly prepared. The crispy duck is also out of this world, as are the dumplings, cashew nut, basil, and really all of the other dishes. Skip the rest and go for the best Thai in town!

Outstanding, family run establishment. Bobby is the only person on the floor and he provides excellent service. His mom is in the kitchen dishing out wonderful Thai food. Great lunch specials come with an amazing soup and dumplings. I really enjoy their tofu and fried rice. My favorite Thai restaurant on the Northshore. A+

Great Pad Thai. The food has a taste and feel of authentic Thai food. Great owners and super friendly. There's a good reason why they have many regulars. The only criticism i can make is when it does get really busy, they do not carry enough staff, so you might be there for a bit, but the food is worth it.

I eat here all the time, love this place. One of the best Panang curries Ive ever had.

Pulled in for my usual passing thru on I-12 stop only to discover a weird fluke..Zea's next door is closed on Tuesdays?? Hungry so looked for something good nearby. Saw Raking Thai tucked next to Johnny's burgers and as I love the flavors of Thai, decided to give it a try as the ratings looked good.

I definitely like that you have the option for vegetables instead of meat in your Curry or other dish. And it was a nice selection of vegetables to do! :-) the flavor was good however I have panang curry which was supposed to be spicy and wasn't. :-( also the curry and the chicken and rice soup that came with it both had a sweet taste. They should be Savory not sweet so they no doubt have added sugar because none of the ingredients are sweet in and of themselves. That was pretty disappointing.

Downside, it says on goggle maps they are open until 230pm, but they turned the open sign off at 12:15pm, so planning a stop here intentionally could be an epic fail as the posted hours aren't accurate apparently.

I have found my new favorite Thai restaurant. Seasoned to perfection. Each dish that I have tried has been a winner.

I just moved to the area and decided to DoorDash some Pad See Ew while unpacking. I ordered a spice level 3 to be safe.

Zero heat at all. Though this may have been a problem with DoorDash not communicating my spice preference accurately, so that’s not the reason for the two stars.

What was definitely not a problem with DoorDash is how bland the Pad See Ew was. Maybe I’m just spoiled because of the excellent Thai restaurant in the city I moved from, but this was incredibly boring.

I’ll try the food again in person someday soon. Every restaurant has off days and I may have just been unlucky enough to catch one for my first try. If it’s better I will definitely update my review, but as of now, the first impression was not a good one.

4 of us just ordered here for the first time. My friends have never had Thai before. It was amazing and we all can’t wait to order again!

This guy is my favorite cook/restaurant in the area. I feel more whole after eating his food. Covington/Mandeville is lucky to have him. I hope he lives longer than me because im 38 but I could see myself 90 years old riding a wheelchair down the highway to enjoy his food.

The food was great I do recommend the stuffed wontons and the fried rice with shrimp.

The options in the lunch menu are really good and tasty. Cashew Nut Sauce recomended!

The food is absolutely amazing. We have never had a bad experience coming here! The wontons are a must! They are so crisp and flavorful. We tried the steamed dumplings for the first time and they are so good! They also have some of the best pad Thai I’ve had in my life. The drunken noodles are also a great option!

Like many asian restaurants, Rankong Thai has dumbed down their spices to suit what they perceive as the typical Louisiana customer. If you want spicy, traditional Thai please request it when ordering. Their fried rice was very good. Pad Thai was alright, if bland. Just make your requested spiciness known when you order and you will enjoy their food.

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in the greater New Orleans area and it’s a hidden gem on the Northshore in Covington. Worth the drive from anywhere. The Volcano Chicken is amazing. The spring rolls are incredible and the Fried Banana for desert is the perfect ending to the perfect meal. Prices are very reasonable and the service is second to none.

Hand down the best Thai restaurant not only on northshore, but south shore as well! Totally beats Equater, COMPLETELY customizable in taste & spice , personable staff, and clean environment. And I eat out at restaurants everyday, rarely leaves reviews but this pace deserves it.
