Thai deliciousness traditionally prepared with fresh ingredients served in a cozy, friendly atmosphere enchanted with a compact booze list.
My husband and I ordered take out from Archa 9 for dinner last night. We have eaten in the restaurant on several occasions and always enjoyed it. My issue was not the taste or quality, but the portion size look like a lunch portion at a dinner price. I feel like you should serve the same quality and size for dine in and carry out. In the future, we will choose places where we can get quality and value.
This is a very warm and inviting space. However, the booths are a bit hard on the back without any cushions.
I ordered chicken larb, papaya salad, tempura enoki mushrooms dine in. I also ordered garlic rice, Tom Kha Gha, and Panang Curry to go.
My first issue was when food came out with NO spice at all. I asked for level 5, the hottest available. I made it clear I eat really spicy foods. They had to take it back and redo 2 items. Even when it returned, it wasn't very spicy, but I appreciated the flavor nonetheless. The flavor of their dishes are completely on point and delicious. I just prefer more heat.
The tempura was not light and fluffy as expected. It was delicious, but the dipping sauce was all wrong. I didn't finish much because the sweet peanut sauce with the savory mushroom KILLED my enjoyment. If you order this dish, ask for a savory chili sauce.
I would definitely recommend it. I will try it again... but I'll make it clear up front how much heat I prefer more clearly.
My daughter has raved about Archa Nine so we decided to try it out. Atmosphere was very nice with a more upscale feel. We had a 20 minute wait at 8:15pm on a Saturday. They do stop seating by 8:45pm.
We ordered appetizers of Chicken Satay, Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon and Pot Stickers. All were very good. Our entrees were Yellow Curry (my daughter), Thai Spicy Noodle Soup and Spicy Basil Fried Rice. All medium heat. My daughter's curry was the best curry I've ever tasted in this state! So creamy! My husband loved his soup & wanted more. I was served a chicken fried rice instead of the Spicy Basil with veggies that I ordered. I was picking thru it, trying to eat what I had without making a fuss but not liking what I had. A few minutes later, they realized I had the wrong entree & brought me my original order & apologized. Great service! And my Spicy Basil Fried Rice was outstanding!
If you love Thai, give this place a visit. Your taste buds will thank you!
I wanted to try something new and found this Thai place. I ordered for pickup and it was quick. I got the lunch combo with Pad Thai and beef soup with Jasmine rice and it was amazing! I selected spice level 2 just to see how much spice I can tolerate. It was warm and the pad thai was the best I’ve had! I would’ve paid the same price at a fastfood. Would definitely keep coming back and bring my hubby with me.
Incredibly authentic Thai food here! The pad see ew was amazing! I love how you can select your protein from chicken, shrimp or pork to go with almost all the base noodle or rice dishes. You can also select the level of spicy you're comfortable with to further customize the dish, which is another nice option.
The portions are incredibly generous, service is fast and friendly. I don't know if I'd get the fried spring rolls again as I'd rather save my stomach for the main dishes but I'm interested to try the other appetizers. The Thai iced is nice, rich, creamy and sweet.
The food was really good!
I have been here last week with my husband and we loved the food! I am a picky eater so I had specific wishes and I loved the service.
I agree. Take out is a lot smaller than eat in. I have learned to order in. Take a few bites and then ask for a box. Im gonna do it again tomorrow.
Fast friendly service. The food is consistently good and orders have always been correct. I will add that spice level is so over the place, sometimes hot is not and sometimes not is hot.
I doordash for multiple restaurants but this place has to be the worst wait time out of any restaurant in lexington that I have picked up from. I think there should be a better system in place for pickup. This is like my 20th time waiting 30+ minutes for a order
The taste and flavor are not good at all, the staff are not friendly, and I waited 48 minutes for an order.
I was missing an item from my order and the staff went above and beyond to make it right and wrote me a nice note! Merry Christmas 🎄

Showed up at 8:28 PM since it reportedly closed at 9:00. They would t serve us.
Update: The owner reached out, explained the circumstances, and even made a nice gesture that I think says a lot for them. I'm change my review from 3 to 5 stars though I've not eaten there and am not in town any longer to try it.
Great Thai food with a nice twist. I wish we had a place this good where I live in Wisconsin
Genuine Thai curry dishes and fare. The masaman curry is my favorite, but the panang curry is good as well. The ladies that work the tables are always suoer nice and accommodating. All spice levels to choose from, too! Ample parking and easy to find .
Ordered deliver thru GrubHub. Will not order again, Dood was so salty it burned my mouth for an hour after. Very expensive for what you get. Prices possibly inflated for GrubHub.

We love Thai food. And have recently been going to Archa 9. They serve all the standard Thai dishes
Food was okay. Peanut sauce was definitely from a jar. I wouldn't eat there again
Beautiful atmosphere, servers were very friendly and food was delicious.
Me and my wife are new to the area and we had always loved Thai food. We decided to try this restaurant and we are so glad that we did. Definitely the best Thai food we had, menu is full of many authentic dishes and can't wait to return to try a different dish. Chicken Pad Thai and Yellow Curry dishes were absolutely delicious.
The pumpkin red curry has such an amazing flavor that it is addicting. The pad thai was awesome as well.
We have come to Archa Nine for either dine in or takeout about once a month for the last 5 years and we love it! The food is delicious and the interior of the building is classy and beautiful. They have a great variety of both food and beverages and allow you to cater your spice level based off what you can handle. Our favorite That restaurant in town!
Food is good. Best thai I have found in Lex. The service is not great though. If you get take out, figure it out yourself as no one wants to really help you. I stood there forever before someone finally asked if I had been helped.
Pad thai was excellent
Thai fried rice was excellent
Chicken cashew was fair/good
Have only eaten here once and the food was very good. the service was super friendly too.

A terrible tragedy has occurred. After a preponderance of pleading for a spicy panang curry, it has become altogether apparent that A9 has hired chefs who cannot read. Illiteracy is an unfortunate blight upon our society and one can only hope A9 will invest in educational reforms to train their chefs to understand the ancient characters of phonemic language. Beware hungry traveller. You may speak to these in auditory language, but if you present them with a written request via an online order, they quite apparently are unable to read.
Editing because despite that it’s often not spicy enough for my tastes, it’s still an above average experience.
I ate here years ago and remember really liking it. We never pass the location, so it became an out of sight out of mind restaurant. We decided to try it again and it did not disappoint. I had the Bamee Ped (Roast Duck and Noodles) and it is honestly the best duck I have ever had. It was flavorful, moist, and had a crispy skin. We will definitely go out of way to get this in the future.
Fresh food! Amazing flavors and great service. I look forward to coming back.
Hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in Kentucky. Check out their Thai chicken wings and shrimp- man they are well made. Orders come quickly and presented beautifully. No idea why this restaurant has only a 4.5 star as I review it sure deserves an even higher rating.
They forgot my sweet rice pouding which cost me a lot and not even wanted to refound me ! What a shame.
One of the top 5 places to eat in Lexington
Best curry i have had in Kentucky.
A great atmosphere for Thai food at reasonable prices (considering leftovers will be another full meal). Haven't had the best luck experimenting with new things, but they have some solid classic dishes. Not my friends' go-to spot but certainly somewhere we'll end up eating again.
Also, the duck fried rice used to be my favorite; it's no longer on the menu :(
Wonderful meal/service. Red pumpkin curry with shrimp and vegetables was phenomenal. Spring rolls and lemongrass soup as appetizers were great. Best Thai food I’ve had in Lexington. Happy this is now on Harrodsburg Road. I will definitely eat here again!
All I can say is I arrived hungry and left stuffed having eaten so much because I couldn’t stop eating the food it was so delicious. I got one of the soup curry specials and it blew me away. I was not expecting it to be that good but I was so full leaving, my stomach hurt for the day after. Lots of rich flavors and the serving size was too much to handle (in a good way). Thoroughly enjoyed our time and would love to go back someday.
average bland thai food.. Way better places not far away. Stupid layout of the restaurant also.
My favorite restaurant in Lexington! Highly recommend. I come back every visit. Great food and service, lots of vegetarian options.
Food was good! The fried spring rolls were underwhelming, but we asked for pad thai and thai fried rice hot and while my husband said his pad thai was good it could have been hotter. My fried rice was ordered "American hot" and it was perfectly spicy for me. Would eat there again!
Delicious! I’ve been here once for dine in and once for take out. Service was friendly, quick, and accurate. Online ordering is easy to do. The food is AMAZING. The prices may seem high but the portions are generous and the quality is excellent. I started at a 1 on the spice scale but will be jumping up to at 3 or 4 now that I have the hang of it. Beef noodle bowl is just incredible.
It was good! I had beef Pad Thai Thai Hot spice. I will go again! They were sort of busy so service was a little bit slow but received a free cup of soup in the meantime. It was on a Tuesday during lunch 1:00ish.
Wonderful food.
I get food here all the time to go. Always happy with the food. Walked in at 12min to 9 to place a to go order. Was told they are closed. I guess they should change the posted closing hours to 8:48. Won't be back.
I am solely basing my review based off of my experience with the to go delivery. My rice was forgotten in my order. So I had to just enjoy the curry as a soup.
Secondly the springs rolls were interesting. Three of the rolls were different and very cold. One with cabbage shred. Second one with mushrooms. And third was noodle based. I was just confused on why it was three different.
Very delicious Thai, you won't be disappointed 😋
We had summer fresh rolls, panang curry (tofu) and lemongrass chicken. Everything was flavorful with impeccable service. We were in n out in 20min which was great as we were on a long road trip. Would love to visit again !
I have recently been diagnosed with Celiac disease & have had a very hard time finding restaurants that are Celiac friendly, much less good. Most of their menu is or can be prepared gluten free. I had the Pad Thai & it was OFF THE CHAIN DELICIOUS!!! It was the best Pad Thai I have EVER eaten by a mile. Waitress was very helpful & the place was spotless.
What a pleasure. The spring rolls were crunchy on outside and delicious, especially with dip.limited selection of liquors but nice choices. Same with wine but good portions. The crispy duck dish was splendid as was the fried(grilled) shrimp dish with 11 shrimp for $19 dollars. Hostess asked if we were 1st timers because she didn't remember seeing us before. Clean with comfortable noise level and unobtrusive background music
Good food and nice romantic vibes
Food is excellent and the best Thai place I have found. Staff is coursious and friendly. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Food is fresh.
This is the best Thai restaurant in Lexington period! A place you can always be proud to take or a special date. The food , service and atmosphere is superb! I’ve gotten take out and had my food delivered.
Carryout order was perfectly cooked!
Delicious!
Great Thai food! Love the Tom Kha!
My wife and I finally made here and it was excellent! We had the chicken pad thai and Dirty Kale with glazed pork belly. Both were amazing! I have a “favorite” place I go for chicken pad thai, and now have another equally “favorite” restaurant for pad thai. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
My favorite Thai restaurant! The customer service and food is always great, Homay always remembers me and takes time to chat. They get extra points for that ❤️.
Delicious. Best Thai restaurant in lex
Understaffed. We waited at the front for a long time until someone noticed us. I also had to let our waitress know when someone walked in as no one attended them while they waited at the front as we did. But the pad Thai was so good. I liked the food a lot. Only critique was the green bean stir fry was a bit too salty but everything else was really good.
Although the restaurant seemed understaffed, they did a good job. The Tom Yum soup was packed with flavor and full with ingredients. The Pad Thai was perfect. The fried dumplings were severely lacking and not worthy. Fried Spring Rolls were ok…missing something though. Seating is awkward and uncomfortable, but overall a good place for Thai food in Lexington, KY.
Tasty Thai as always…
Best Thai cuisine- and we find Thai restaurants wherever we travel. My husband and I eat there often. Food is always consistently wonderful! My favorite is Golden Cashew with pork- yum!
I have eaten in many Thai restaurants. This one has very nice interior ambience, and the food is passable, but far from knocking my socks off. I had Salmon Panang, the curry sauce was good but the salmon fillet was cooked until the flesh had a hard crust, which is the opposite thing to do with salmon. My friend had roast duck curry. The duck was very nicely cooked, nice and tender unlike most places in the US that serve rubbery duck and pretend it is supposed to be good. The Tom Yum soup was overly sweet, unfortunately, though at least they didn't ruin it with Sriracha sauce like I have seen at other places. Overall, I give it 3 stars. Good but not great.
Interesting Thai joint. The food and atmosphere are pretty standard. The waitress kept making funny faces at me.
Eating here has become expensive. Prices for all dishes have gone up significantly.
They are understaffed. So none took order for a long time and dirty dishes stayed on the table until after we left. With five people eating table was crowded.
Though they seem to have a full bar, they could not fix an old fashioned. What a shame.
I am going to think twice before returning there.
This place was so so good and I’m only upset that we didn’t discover it sooner. Truly crafted food that pleases the palate. It’s slightly pricey but worth every cent. Ignore any bad review and try it for yourself! So good!
So rude! There's a Thai-origin female waitress in this store who discriminated against us. We stood at the entrance for a long time and she ignored us. When we asked for a table for two, she said 'you can wait.' Then, she coldly treated us, while being extremely welcoming and friendly to others.
The racist waitress, so rude
INCREDIBLY poor service. Under no circumstance should a server be yelling at or in front of customers. We will not return.
Really great flavors every time and great as leftovers, too. We've ordered different dishes every time and it's all been excellent!
Fantastic place! Delicious food. Ordered Kee Mao and Avocado green curry, and they both were soul satisfying.
So glad they put an Archa Nine near us on Harrodsburg Rd. Love this place
Wonderful dishes with great service and drinks.
Waited at table for 20 minutes. Tried to get waitresses attention, but she never came to take our order. Menu looked good…too bad
Their Pad Thai is consistently excellent. Really good service and lovely atmosphere.
Very good food.
You cannot go wrong ordering any dish on the menu.
We went for takeout last night and ordered the garlic lovers with chicken and the pork belly stir fry. The garlic chicken was supposed to have broccoli, carrots and cabbage with a black pepper sauce. When we got home and opened up the food, the garlic chicken had no veggies or sauce in it and the chicken was dry and over cooked. The pork belly stir fry was tasteless. And not to mention expensive. We ended up eating cereal for dinner.
Well prepared variety of dishes from noodles to grilled entrees. The Spring rolls are great. Service was very good.
I loved
Best Thai restaurant in town. Excellent food as well as service.
We were a part of 7 with no reservation and they barely had room.. but they made it work! Very nice of them as our dinner plans had already been abruptly canceled earlier that day. I got the soft shell crab fried rice and even tho I would probably order something else next time I still had a good experience and the staff was attentive. 👍👍
The meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent with a cozy ambiance. Chili Pepper Shrimps was fantastic! I would highly recommend it!
Delicious Thai food in Lexington KY
Enjoyed the meal..
VERY good food little pricey but it was awesome. The Mango sticky rice was omg wow
Food was great, and staff was fast, and friendly love the food at this Thai restaurant is amazing!! If you haven't tried I'd highly recommend it!!
My husband and I took our 4 kids for lunch on a whim. The interior was nicer than we expected, the staff was very friendly, the food was delicious. We had a great time. Thanks!
We love good Thai food, and this place was great! I ordered the pumpkin curry (that's different!) and my wife got the drunken noodles. Both were very good. We also ordered the summer rolls......real fresh, uniquely wrapped, loved them. Caution, this food is hotter than most other Thai resturants. My wife could not eat her level 3 heat dish. Seeing this the waiter brought a milder dish free of charge! My new favorite Thai resturant.
We came to Archa nine for my Birthday dinner. The food was fresh and flavorful and everything I had hoped for. The portions are huge and perfect for sharing around the table. We will be regulars!
Ordered take out . Food was very good , spice level was as requested. Service was good too.
Another Great meal!
Best crab rangoon I've ever tasted!
The crab fried rice was a first for me, outstanding, plus a delicious soft shell crab, perfectly cooked on top. Steaks and other entrees were perfect.
Two days ago I had a doctor appointment at St. Joseph's. Hospital in Lexington so I decided to get some lunch while there. I asked Google for best thai food near me and first learned of this restaurant. After my appointment I called in my order and was told 15 minutes.
When I got there my bill was $8 more then I expected and was told that the prices had gone up. All I ordered was the chicken satay and chicken pad thai so $8 dollars was a lot. I explained that I ordered off the menu online and she said the prices had gone up. When I got to the car I checked my order and was missing the cucumber salad for my chicken satay I went back into the restaurant to ask for it and was told they no longer serve it. I was very disappointed but what happened next was offensive. The woman asked me to see where I ordered from... So I went out to my car and got my phone.
I showed the lady my Google search and that they came up first. Clicked on their website, clicked MENU (not photo gallery icon) and showed her the items, descriptions and prices. She was kinda rude, insisted a past customer posted the picture and that I ordered off the wrong menu. I clicked on the next menu pictures and they didn't have prices but had the same food. I suggested they edit their website if the prices were wrong. Another waitress suggested I write this review.
NOW ABOUT THE FOOD-
Chicken satay the chicken pieces were larger then normal pieces of chicken, it was POUNDED out chicken not cooked on a stick. It was dry and tough-I couldn't cut it with the plastic knife provided. The sauce was more hot chili (I ordered mild) then peanut sauce and no cucumber salad.
Chicken pad thai was dry and greasy was little sauce and no crunchy vegetables on top.
Needless to say that I was even sadder after trying the food. Not only was it $8 more than I planned to spend on lunch but it wasn't good.... I should have just not taken the food with the rudeness of staff and higher cost but I was so hopeful for the best thai food in Lexington. Just wanted you to know.
Blatantly ignored while trying to pickup an order.
What a find! Five stars all the way: the food was fantastic, service grand, and I loved the vibe.
Pad won sen and the Pad Kee mao were both kinda bland. This place is definitely on the mediocre side as far as Thai restaurants go.
The food here is amazing. The service is just as good as the food. Order the pla sam rod or the basil fried rice. You will not regret it.
The 3 different sauces we had were awfully sweet.
We will not return nor recommend this restaurant.
I ordered online. Everything is good. Just wish i could customize order online more other than no peanuts. Ex take off on onions
While my food was good, my son ordered a spice level of 4 and clearly had no spice. After dropping the food off, no one ever came back , no drink refills or inquiring how our food was. We had to ask for the check multiple times.
Nice servers. Food was good. Many visits or pick up of food and they are consistent.
The staff was AMAZING, the food was excellent and the mood was soothing! Amazing place! KEEP SHINING🐝❤
They are closed from around 2:30 until 5:00 or so. I kept forgetting that, and went there several times to find it closed. Glad it was finally open. I always order Pad Thai the first time I visit a Thai restaurant, and this was probably the best Pad Thai I've ever had. My mother ordered the Sunny Delight, which was also amazing. Included in the price was a welcome cup of soup while we waited. Definitely will go back.
Archa Nine is our favorite Thai restaurant in the city!
Flashing open sign in the window. Sign on the door says they close at 8:45. Walked in at 8:29. Said they would only do to go. They obviously don't need the money. Go support another local restaurant that do need the money!
Very good food. It is overpriced.
Great appetizers and lots of menu options. Enjoyed everything, especially the Thai iced tea!
We had a party of 5, and it wasn't busy. Nice atmosphere. Food was just okay, depending on what you got. No one came to the table until 20 minutes after we had been seated. Food all came at extremely different times so some people's was cold because we had to wait another 20 minutes between when the first and last person got their food. We were at the table for OVER an hour after we had finished eating. 30 of which was just waiting on her to come collect the checks. Worst service I've ever had.
First visit. Excellent. Summer roll is the way to start!
Good Thai food for Lexington, but I’ve had more authentic and better thai food in other cities. Have done both take away and dine in, and unfortunately the service is spotty and aloof. Most recently waited over 10 minutes at the empty hostess stand to pick up my order. Several times I tried to engage with the staff, saying excuse me, pardon me, and HELLO. All greeted with no acknowledgment, eyes averted and they just kept walking. So if you want decent Thai food and want to gamble on the service then go to Archa Nine.
The food was very delicious and the service was exceptional.
You can believe all the hype about this place, it’s real. I was in the mood for a curry dish so I opted for the Pumpkin Red Curry, absolutely delicious! Visually stunning, sophisticated flavors, and filling to say the least. I went for lunch around noon on a Saturday and was able to be seated right away with amazing service. Top tier all around, I will be back!
What a disappointing dining experience. The food was bland and the service was horrible. Had really high expectations based on the reviews we read. Hope the server was just having a bad day and doesn't treat all of her customers the way she did us.
Ordered large Tom Yum mixed seafood, didn't have much seafood, broth, onions mushrooms, barley any seafood, for $20 expected more quantity. Won't order from them again. When I called to inquire about the lack of seafood, whoever answered phone said everything is gone, I understand it has, however putting 1small scallop, 3 shrimps, 1 white fish is not considered large mixed in my opinion.
My daughter has raved about Archa Nine so we decided to try it out. Atmosphere was very nice with a more upscale feel. We had a 20 minute wait at 8:15pm on a Saturday. They do stop seating by 8:45pm.

If you love Thai, give this place a visit. Your taste buds will thank you!
Good food and very quick service!
Best Thai food in Lexington.
Heavy on the sweet side with all sauces. Curry that is usually in an unsweetened coconut sauce was sweetened and the pad Thai that I had was a red sauce which tasted more like a sweet and sour sauce than a peanut sauce. I personally felt it wasn't authentic, more Americanized which left me disappointed.
Delicious food; a little expensive, but worth the splurge.
Such a horrible service!!
We are two people. We spent $50 per person, yet i don’t deserve a cup of free hot water???!!!
I ordered hot water because I’m not feeling well and didn’t want to drink tea (which has caffeine) at 8pm. I was not trying to take advantage or something. The hot water never came. I ended up getting no water and the waitress doesn’t care AT ALL. She was checking on the table next to me all the time, but NEVER came to check on us even once!!
If you say the waitress was not distinguishing service based on their RACES, I don’t believe it.
Will NEVER come back. Would rate 0 if possible. My husband still tipped, but I think the waitress deserve 0 tips.
Not the authentic style Thai restaurant, more American style Thai Asian fusion restaurant, the vibes are good. A little bit expensive than other authentic Thai place, but they do have good combination and more suitable for American taste.
Great vegetarian selection, friendly and efficient staff. First time here and I'll be back.
Honestly, this is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. It’s very consistent with the quality of food! The proportions are perfect, the staff is always very friendly, and the flavor of each dish is excellent. Plus, it’s always clean! Anyone looking for a fantastic Thai place should come here!
I do love the food. It's my favorite Thai place in Kentucky. That is why I decided to go there for my birthday dinner. But this experience was exceptionally disappointing. We expected to wait a bit for our food because a large party walked in before us, but we did not expect to wait nearly an hour for one of our orders to be cold while we watched about 16 to-go bags full of food pile up on the table. My husband is a restauranteur in Richmond, KY and we've both been in the industry with over three decades of experience between us, so we are very compassionate when it comes to the complications that occur in the front and back of house. But this was unacceptable. As much as I love the food, I doubt we'll be back (unless we order food to-go so we won't be surprised if it's cold).
Nice atmosphere, excellent pad Thai.
