We stopped in on the way home to try a new place. The staff was very friendly and the food started off great! We had the soup that was part of the meal and it actually tasted very good. We then ordered Crab Rangoon, pot stickers, gyoza as our appetizer. They all tasted really good and made us excited for our main dishes. For mains we had green curry chicken, Drunken noodle (vegetables), Tamarind chicken, and duck fried rice. The Tamarind chicken and duck fried rice were both very good, but the green curry chicken and the drunken noodles were a little off. After a little digging we identified that the bamboo shoots were not very good and gave the dishes an "off" smell and taste. Not sure we would try again, but if we do we will make sure to leave out the bamboo shoots.

We ordered food to go, and it tasted just as bad as it looked. The salad was soggy, and the fried rice was burnt. Had I not already ordered before I got to the restaurant, I would have turned around and left. The dining room floor is carpet. The original color appears to be white, but 90% of it is black. We already paid, so we figured, we made it this far, so I guess we will eat it. Wish I would've just taken my money back and left.

Mine was passable, By the time we left, neither of our waters had been refilled, none of the dirty tables had been cleared or cleaned and we decided to never go there again.

There was hardly any chicken in our meals. My onions and peppers were probably cooked for about 1 minute, still very raw. The sauce just tastea like a burnt grill. They didn't offer fried rice with the peppersteak, and the white rice was hard and dry. I have to reiterate that there was barely any chicken, like just a few pieces in each meal. Granted, we ordered after 8 pm, but not close enough to closing to warrant anything less than what we would normally get. This is not the first bad experience here.

Wish I could give negative stars for service and atmosphere. My husband and I ate here, and the experience was awful, the service ABSOLUTELY unprofessional , it was dirty and the menu is inaccurate. We walked in and the waitress was on facetime with a person right in front of us, she did walk behind the wall but was so loud. Literally telling the person there is customers and she will get to us. My husband’s plate the garlic pepper with choice of meat was $10.95 plus $5 because he choose the three meat combo. When he got his plate there was maybe 3 thin slices of chicken and the same amount of beef but no pork! I ordered the Beef Pho for $10.95 which comes with your choose of meat and meatballs. I ordered extra beef as well for $2.50. And I’m sure you can see where this is going there was no meatballs nor extra beef. I would like to note I really do like the pho, but it was not the same this time the broth had no flavor When we were served the waitress didn’t give us silverware and any sauces I wanted I had to get up to get because the waitress was on her phone. And almost of their sauces were not good, the bottles clearly state “Refrigerate after opening” and they were just siting out on the table. When we showed the waitress our plates she said she had to ask the cook who said he made it how it was ordered. So we paid almost $40 for maybe and thats a big MAYBE for $22 dollars worth of food.

Mom & I love this place! Their noodles, rice, & soups are wonderful! Our server, Sunny, is an absolute joy. Will always be back when in town.

Broccoli chicken was good. Pho was gross. 3 small pieces of meat in pho. Barely 5 pieces in chicken broccoli. roll that came with food was super greasy with no taste.

First time eating here got the Duck Curry it was soooo good.

Where do I begin???? The table was sticky and the light shining in the front showed everywhere the greasy gunk was smeared across the table. I tried cleaning it with a napkin but the napkin stuck to the table. The floors were black with filth. We noticed more and more as we sat and waited for the food we ordered. The food came out and opening our silverware , it was so dirty and the “fried rice” my husband ordered was a ball of white boiled plain rice, beside the ball was one sprig of broccoli and thre tiny carrot squares. He ordered teriyaki chicken, but it was mostly onions. I ordered chicken with the noodles and am not sure if it was chicken as it was rubbery to chew. Mostly it was onions. I asked them to not put rice on my plate as I am allergic, but I got a ball of rice anyways. Ugh! I just left it untouched. The noodles were thin spaghetti noodles. We ordered crab rangoon and egg rolls, both were overcooked. You could taste the solidified and reheated oils in all of the food. Nothing was fresh. The portions were really small, so that’s probably a good thing, because a few hours after coming home the diarrhea began. It’s now been nearly 24 hours since we ate there and the diarrhea has not slowed down. If anything, it feels worse. I wasn’t going to write a review, despite the bad experience, but this being sick has to be told to others to warn them away from this place. I think the food must have been old and refrigerated many times and reheated. You could taste that it wasn’t fresh. The filth there makes me worry that we ingested a lot of bacteria and have some food poisoning. We are both sick. Soooo NOT a good eatery!!! The bill was almost $45. Ugh!

A hidden gem. I love to visit this place when I’m in Pittsburg.

This place has gone downhill fast. Drinks aren’t free refills and they don’t tell you, food has gotten mediocre at best, and the servers tell racist/homophobic jokes. I won’t be coming again.

If the kitchen is as/or dirtier than the entry way and dining areas then there is no way I'm even willing to try the food. When I seen the filth on everything including floors, I turned and walked back out.

I ordered over the phone the person taking the order said 10-15 minutes it’s been 45 minutes and counting.

The food was OK with smaller then typical portions. Not as good as the other Thai restaurants we typically go to. The server was new and did not do as well as I typically expect.

We’ve gotten take out from here but this was the first time for dinning in.

It was simple I asked for something on the menu, but there were a couple of things in it that I didn't want, so I asked for that to be removed, and to my understanding it was, now the rest of my order was fine so when I returned to my room there it was everything that I asked for and everything I didn't there was even things that weren't supposed to be in there any way I'm not going to bash the place I'm from out of town but I won't be back because your not getting what you pay for if you order out hell they were even skimpy on the white rice it was like eating soup had to eat it with a spoon I was disappointed in this place

So i ordered a few items the veg noodles and choose your meat i get the food and its extremely bland not worth 5$
Then my son goes to eat his "kids chicken noodle" and it smells like ammonia and old rancid fish zero flavor its supposed to be chicken noodles anyways then my crab Rangoon was basically burnt or very well done if you want to say that over all i would not eat here oh and if its just you and your child expect to spend 40$ and be disappointed

This place is phenomenal. We ordered the Rama Thai with chicken, the Drunken Mama with pork, and the combination appetizers, and everything was delicious. Literally every single bite of every item was delectable. Highly recommended, because wow. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

My boyfriend and I went there the other night, horrible experience. Nasty food! We definitely won’t be back! The cook had sandals on socks. So gross! My pho tasted like soap. My boyfriend got the duck fried rice, it was fatty and not well tasting! My spoon was dirty and I feel like the rice was old. Well I don’t recommend eating here. -100 stars!

If I could give my review -100 stars I would. Worst Thai cuisine ever. Worst customer service ever. Very bland food. Server forgot to put our drinks on ticket. Waited forever for our food and they’re not even busy. There’s no music playing at all. So all you hear are other folks conversations. Our silverware was dirty. We both left food on the table which never happens. Bathrooms are disgusting. Didn’t feel comfortable enough to use the restroom.

A nice place and I believe this review is more of based on my personal taste.

I ordered the pad Thai and Thai fried rice. Both were good. The pad Thai was sweeter than I am used to and on their heat scale I got a 3 which wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be for a "medium". I'll have to step it up next time. The Thai fried rice just seemed like something was missing but it was still a good dish.

The gentleman working their serving everyone was excellent and attentive.

An underrated Asian restaurant in Pittsbrug. It’s a small, cute and cozy place for lunches and dinner dates with friends and other loved ones.

The food was delicious. We went in with a group of 11 about 1:30 and our only complaint was the food was a little slow to come out. The taste, however, made up for it. The Thai tea was a sure crowd pleaser!!

I have never had this bad of service. There were 6 of us and the restaurant was empty. It took 20 minutes for the server to bring out our drinks and 30 minutes to bring out the hot teas we ordered. After we ordered our food it was over an hour and we still had not gotten it, so I went to ask the server about our food and I saw that all of the food was sitting on the counter in the kitchen. Afterwards the server brought out 2 plates and they were cold so they were sent back. When the food came back out it tasted as if it was just warmed up in the microwave. The server then brought out 3 more plates that were cold also. We waited a little bit and the last person still had not gotten her food, so we just told the server to cancel it and we left. We never got any refills nor did the server come ask us if we needed anything. Not to mention that a couple sat down but then left because the server never took their order. I think the worst part of it was the server did not seem to care, nor did he say sorry about any of it. I will not be back here to waste my money again. I never leave reviews since I am a pretty understanding person, but if I could give this restaurant negative stars I would.

Excellent food. Served in a timely man. Fresh and hot. Affordable. 2 soda, 2 entrees, 2 appetizers and tax $35. Can't get that in the golden arch drive thru.

Worst experience ever. Crazy high prices for lunch. $2 extra for 4 tiny pieces of shrimp in my lunch. All onions and bell peppers in my meal, no mushrooms at all. My daughter ordered sweet and sour chicken. All onions, no chicken. $50 for 3 people to eat lunch with little to no meat. This was my first and LAST TIME here. Nope. Never again. Been wanting to try the place. Very disappointing. No shortage of onions there, but there is definitely a shortage of meat, but they aren't shy about charging for it.

We decided to check this place out when we were moving my son to college. I love Thai food so I’m always up for trying it. When we walked in it was about 80° in there on a very hot day. The waitress was sweet but terribly slow and the food was horrendous! There were seven of us and only one out of the seven even remotely liked what they ordered. In general the food had a terrible smell. I would not recommend this place.

The food is authentic, delicious Thai. No shortcuts. Takes a few minutes to come out, but well worth the wait. The food comes with authentic Thai SPICE as well, so don't be embarrassed to order it less spicy.

Cheap meat, food smells terrible, overpriced for the portions that you get..the food I ordered was so bad I couldn’t eat it and I generally hate to complain but the owner was very rude and dismissive and refused to make it right for us. $40 for two orders of bad curry is unacceptable.

The house soup is good, but not big enough for the price the charged. Got a taro boba and the boba were hard to chew and drink was icy. Was kinda disappointed. Make sure u check your boba drink first to make sure its blended all the way

Love Typhoon! Definitely recommend their noodle dishes and appetizers! As a half-thai person who has lived in Thailand, one of the challenges is finding good Thai food in Southeast Kansas--for those looking, this is it! For those that have complained about the staffing, yes there is one person doing it all, most of the time. However, I do think that they do their best and work to ensure every customer is happy!

Don't recommend this place at all even though it has fairly good reviews. One waitress doing all front end jobs so was slow in greeting, slow with menus, etc. We asked about gluten free items and she told us there were none-not a single one.

The service was great and the food was delicious.

The space is very comfortable, cozy, not too bright, and has nice art. There was only one waitress, but she did a very good job. My group loved the choose your own spiciness options. It was delicious and not too expensive.

This is hidden gem. For a small, cozy Thai option in southeast Kansas you can't do better. I'm always amazed at how hard the staff work to make sure every customer has a great experience. A favorite lunch spot for sure!

Tom kha gai is nothing but green peppers, onion and green beans. It’s brown for the second time. I don’t think there is any coconut milk In the soup. My curry is the same. Three pieces of chicken between both. I thought I would give them a second chance but had the same experience. Very disappointed.

This place is awesome. Phenomenal service and food that just has that home cooked feel to it. The Thai iced tea is to die for.

The food is delicious and Cory is my personal favorite waiter. He's always super nice and makes us feel welcome. 10/10 would recommend.

The food was very good...but I know that Thai food is known to be spicy and I was given a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the spiciest. I chose a scale of 4 and found the need to add extra chili flakes, hot chili oil AND Sriracha...so I'm not sure 5 will be hot enough for me...so I'll make sure and tell them next time to make it about a 10. Looking forward to my next visit...👍👍

I also love that they give you a scale of how spicy you want your food. I can't handle spicy food, and while that's sad, this restaurant allows me to eat so much more variety. Only good thing here is the crab rangoon. Everything else had a microwave madness kind of feel to it.

As far as Thai food goes, Typhoon is the best. Huge selection of noodle and curry dishes in a laid-back atmosphere. Plus, Thai iced tea.

Phenomenal thai food for South East Kansas, especially for the price. It is undoubtedly one of my favorite restaurants tucked away in such a quiet nook of Pittsburg. Because of the color palette of its design and poor PRAdMar strategies, this restaurant easily eludes the eye- even on Broadway. Still definitely worth the patronage! Love it! 😉

Coming from KC it's hard to find delicious Asian cuisine here in Pittsburg but Typhoon went above and beyond my expectations. Amazing food, excellent service, very fair prices and a peaceful atmosphere I can see myself becoming a regular very easily.

Closes at 8:30. I call at 7:45. "Sorry were closing the kitchen down early." I Litteraly called yesterday and they were closed. Horrorible hours. Not too bad food. They skimp you on the mean big time. Bad service. Bad hours. Mad customer.
