They have the right amount of crispy garlic oil, and Moo Deng (bbq pork).

Other favorites - like Som Tam (papaya salad) are spot on with the balance of lime, fish sauce, and Thai bird chiles. The Tod Mun (fish cakes) are spot on - again, also pretty rare to find at Thai restaurants in general.

My wife loves the Khao Soi - curried noodles with crispy tofu. Their yellow curry is also very good, my son’s fave.

They even offer mango with sweet sticky rice that we get every so often.

One of the best Thai food I had in recent times in Kansas area. I did try their wings which were good. Chicken spring rolls were good, chicken dumplings were good. The shrimp appetizer was good. We Chicken Satay was good and the Tom yum soup was delicious. We did try their Basil fried rice, Yellow curry fried rice, Thai Cashew stir fry and Pad Thai noodles. Everything tasted really good. The location was so good and the ambience was beautiful. The service was so good.

The best Thai food I have found so far in the Overland Park area. Fresh, hot and flavorful dishes. Plentiful servings, too! We had their lunch specials today (Yellow Curry with Chicken for me and the Drunken Noodles with Pork for my guest) and both were delicious. Friendly service and great atmosphere for lunch and I will definitely be back to dine there or do future take out orders. Very yummy lunch - and we both brought home leftovers to enjoy for lunch tomorrow. Prices for their Lunch Specials Menu start at $12.50 and that’s pretty reasonable for a lunch sized portion.

This is the second time we visited when driving through town. Not busy at all on Friday night.

My daughter ordered Lek Tom yum which is a noodle, hot which she said it wasn’t that spicy and she can finish it easily, flavorful.

My son got kid chicken fried rice which he liked and it was big enough that he had leftover. I wish they add some veggies in there, at least carrots or broccolis.

My husband got chicken cashews which is not authentic, a little too sweet but has lots of veggies in it. This is his usual dish when visited Thai restaurant so he is experienced, this is not the best one he had.

I got Moo ping and Thai papaya salad. Moo ping came in 4 sticks as appetizer, the meat is tasty but dry, most likely not made fresh. Papaya salad is very tasty and I really enjoy it.

Waitress who was there this time had great memory and recognized us from almost a year ago even remembered where we seated then.

I got papaya salad and moo grob pad ka na Thai spicy, both were excellent flavor and spicy as I like. Daughter got lek Tom yum as last time which she still liked but felt like it’s more spicy than last time. My son and husband shared chicken fried rice added veggies for extra charge but worth it since they put plenty of veggies on it.

I hope they stay open for a long time, it becomes my favorite Thai place to go on our routine trip to visit family.

Update after 1 year, stopped on the way again and it didn’t disappoint. Tom yum noodle and chicken fried rice still tasted good and I tried Pork rib soup ต้มแซ่บ very tasty with right amount balance between spicy and sour. Service was excellent as usual and very quick. It wasn’t busy in store but seemed to be busy with taking out. We definitely will stop here every time we pass by

Each time I have ordered from here the food has been amazing! I have only ordered to go and the food is always fresh! 10/10 would recommend!!!

Thai Zappz is our go-to for Thai take-out. I love the appetizers -- the chicken spring rolls, rangoon and the chicken satay are delicious. The fried rice and panang curry is also fantastic. The sauces (the peanut sauce with the satay and the spring roll sauce is primo!) are amazing as well.

Inside is clean and the incense are a nice touch, their Tom Yum soup was delicious and I love that I was able to order it without onions, I'll definitely be back!! Very cozy winter food 😋

My wife and I had lunch here for the first time and was not disappointed. The egg rolls were very crispy and delicious. I recommend the Thom Zappz, pork rib soup. Similar to Thom Yum, lemony, tangy and spicy but the tender pork ribs gave it a unique and delicious flavor.

The service and atmosphere were also very nice.

We are return customers at Thai zappz and although we have many favorites here Pad Sea Ew is usually the one we cannot resist with mango sticky rice for dessert. The service is excellent - quick! Very relaxing authentic Thai food. The whole staff that I’ve met is from Thailand and always give great Thai hospitality. I lived in Thailand for 4 years and can confirm that this food is delicious and very authentic. We love the pad see ew, cashew chicken, pad grapaow as our favorites! Also if you have any room left from their large portion sizes, definitely try their sticky rice and mango for dessert.

The food and the service at Thai Zappz were both wonderful.

The booth we sat at: The bench was so low and the table so high, it felt like my chin was on the table. It was not a comfortable booth. I don't know if all the booths were like that but I have to presume that they are.

The door has a chime that chimes three times every time it's opened and for no more patrons than were in the restaurant, it seemed like it was chiming a lot. If you are disturbed by noise, this will drive you batty.

I don't know what was going on in the back of the restaurant but they seemed to have a lot of kids, all of whom were making lots of noise. If you like a nice peaceful chat with a friend over lunch, between the noisy kids and the chiming door... you may not get it here.

Maybe the over-abundance of kids was a unique situation and we just happened to unluckily be there on that day. I don't know.

If you take the food and the service and move it to a quilter venue with comfortable seating, this would be a five-star review.

First visit there, went with my "benchmark" dishes - Tom Kha soup & Panang Chicken Curry. OMG! They knocked it out of the park! Simply the best Thai restaurant we have found on the southside of KC ( in my humble opinion). And the leftover soup is separating like it's supposed to (the last few places we tried, the soup never did). As for the atmosphere, looks like they're still settling in, kinda secondhand industrial right now, but clean. Once again, try it for yourselves, but do try it.

Thai Zappz is always a great choice. The service is warm, friendly, and efficient, and the food is always great. We tried the Northern Thai sausage with thinly sliced cucumbers and ginger, the Zappz street food sauteed shrimp which is prepared in a crispy pancake with green onions and bean sprouts, and the stir fry with basil, ginger, and shrimp. Everything was delicious!

This place is more than worth the drive if you are in the KC area. The egg rolls were some of the best I have ever had. Main dish (Pad Kee Mao)was so fresh and flavorful. There is also a very large selection to choose from. Our server was so friendly and welcoming as well. Definitely worth checking out. Will be back!

Even though we live only 5 minutes away a lot of the food was cold! The chicken satay was very overcooked and tough! The See Eaw beef was very overcooked and tough! The dumplings were cold!

I order lunch from here several times and it is always so good! My go-to is the cashew chicken, but the pad Thai and curries are great as well. I love that they are able to accommodate my gluten free requests. I highly recommend!!

This is not authenic Thai food at all. The food taste more like water down Chinese food. Thai food is savory and has a good punch to it. It's not suppose to be overly sweet or watered down in flavor like what this place sells. The only good thing about the place is the decor and atmosphere. Other than that don't be deceive by the high reviews from white ppl who never had real Thai food.

Really great service! Got the Drunken Noodles, was very spicy for “medium”. Ragoons are pretty small.

I went to Thai Zappz for the first time and chose the red curry with chicken. I'm used to Thai restaurants downgrading the spice level so I ordered hot. That was a bit hotter than I like, so it's a lesson learned. But spice level notwithstanding, this was the best Thai red curry I've had in the US. I just kept shaking my head and expressing how good it was. I have had as good or better outside of the US at a place where it was recommended to order it "Thai style", but this was second best and absolutely wonderful.

To temper that a bit, today I ordered Phad Thai, delivered. It was a bit dry and just not as tasty as some of the other Phad Thai in the Kansas City area, but it was still good. Hard to say how much that was due to delivery versus eating at the restaurant. I think I'll work through the other menu items at Thai Zappz before returning to the Phad Thai.

Overall I love the place and I plan to be a regular customer.

This is my go to Thai place! Every time I order, the food is made quickly and consistently good! The staff has always been warm and friendly and I will continue telling my friends about this restaurant.

Best Thai food in Kansas City

Nothing worth writing home about.

Looking to try somewhere new during the end of KC Restaurant Week '24 and so glad we came to Thai Zappz! We decided to come for lunch and man was it busy! We had to wait briefly to get a seat, and then food did take awhile to come out after ordering. The staff definitely seemed a little overwhelmed, but were checking in and apologetic. However, they both prefaced before seating us that there would be a wait and we found out after they had a group reservation of 25 that they were serving (hence the wait!). All things considered, they handled it very well!

Now the important stuff, the food! We ordered off both the restaurant week menu and the regular menu because there were so many dishes we wanted to try. They have a good variety of classic Thai dishes and street-food inspired dishes. We ended up getting: crab rangoons, crispy garlic shrimp, fried dumplings, Tom Yum soup, and drunken noodles. Everything was so so good. I loved the crispy garlic shrimp - great flavor (though I would have loved more sauce to soak the veggies or rice in!) and a good amount of food. My husband loved the drunken noodles. He devoured them (though I did steal some bites!). All the apps were great too.

I also ordered a Thai Punch cocktail! Not totally sure what was in it, but it seemed like a fruity, orange/citrus rum drink. It was fun and tasted great!

Overall we would definitely visit again!

Wow! The crab Rangoon and pot stickers were better than most restaurants. The pad thai was amazing, tho! I’ve ordered delivery pad Thai before and by the time it gets to me the noodles are one big clump. Not this time! They were delicious and the texture divine!

Just went for restaurant week and so glad we were able to try and find this place. The appetizers were yummy and the food was delicious. I really appreciated that they respected the spice level ordered. I love Thai food but can’t handle the spice. They made my food with no spice without sacrificing taste.

Visited during KC Restaurant week and thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. The service was pleasant and speedy. I tried the Fried Dumpling and the Hot Red Chicken Curry. Both were full of flavor. The curry packed the perfect punch of heat and mouth watering flavors. I was surprised it was not very busy on a Friday night. More people need to try this place out!

I have eaten here a few times already and have a few favorites: Khao Soi, Yentafo, Tomyum, and the whole tilapia. The flavor has been consistently good and the server is very friendly.

This place was delicious and the service was perfect. I got the Moo Ma Now (level 3 spicy) and hubby got the Massaman Curry with chicken (level 4 spicy). We both loved our food and we’re somewhat picky about food quality when eating out. It was fresh, service was prompt and no pressure. Nothing bad to say about this place. It was also clean ( even the bathrooms) and not too loud. They got the lighting right even!

Delicious food served hot and fresh. Even with a large group we had great service. The seafood Pad Thai had giant scallops which was a huge plus and were cooked perfectly although I would have liked to have a tad bit more color on them.

Highly recommend!

Stopped in for a late weekday lunch. Was quickly seated and followed up on. Got the green curry with chicken. Everything was very fresh and as you can see in the photo the curry was packed with veggies and chicken. The curry itself had a very clean flavor and was enjoyable soaked into the rice. Will definitely be back!

Food is amazing! However, the service sucks!

The service was indifferent and very slow. The Tom ka soup was really good, the dumplings were mushy, and the $12 chicken skewers were extremely dry, we couldn’t even finish half of them. Drunken noodles were pretty good, Thai fried rice was very bland and the massaman curry was just straight thick peanut butter. I mentioned the curry to two servers and they really didn’t care. The menu doesn’t say peanut based like the panang does, it says chili paste and coconut milk but my server told me massaman and panang are the same….
Wasn’t the worst but far from the best, we won’t be back when there are better Thai choices elsewhere.

My husband and I went in and tried this place out for the first time and it was great! Loved their food and the service / atmosphere! It definitely feels like a home cooked meal when you’re eating! Our waitress was so nice and there was another worker (not sure if he is the owner or something else) and came out to explain our dishes and what region they are from!

It’s really cool when you go into the restaurant too! He also was telling us that the interior design represents different parts of Thailand as well (Ex: Northern Thailand, Southern Thailand)

My husband got more of a street food style dish (Bamee Heang Moo Dang) and I got a Norther Thai dish (Khao Soi). If you like curry dishes I super recommend the Khao Soi, it was so good! I also got Thai tea boba and that was also wonderful!

Lots of space at this restaurant too! They have a patio area and a huge inside dinning space!

Go and try it out!

Food was amazing we ordered four different appetizers all were delicious. The crispy garlic shrimp, and Panang curry were amazing. Highly recommend looking forward to going back.

This is authentic street food straight from Thailand. When they ask for a spice level, they deliver. Great food.

We had take away Tom Yum, Pad Thai, and Siam Chicken. We enjoyed all of them and will definitely be back in the future. The Tom Yum was absolutely fabulous and I really enjoyed the Siam Chicken, which I have not had before. My wife is a huge fan of Tom Yum and this is the best that we've had recently. Was pleasantly surprised that the "hot" was actually pretty hot.

Wonderful service, delicious pad Thai & red curry. Be sure to try the garlic basil wings and crispy rangoons -- so good! We'll be back!!

Don't let the photo fool you. I ordered crispy pork belly rice, they turned out to be dry and hard as rocks. When I complained to the store, they said if their pork belly is hard as rock, they won't be able to slice it!! What a joke, bad customer service.

I am very picky on my Thai restaurants and these guys @ Thai Zappz won me over. My Spicy Ginger stir fry was delicious and just the way I wanted it. They are authentic and the decor is unique and beautiful!

The beef gaprow was very tasty and the pad thai was flavorful. The peanuts were extra roasted which made it stand out. Our service was very poor which was frustrating because we were 1 of 2 tables. We weren't checked on after our food was brought out and another employee ended up getting our check for us. There is a large wall in the middle of the restaurant separating the bar from the seating area that I believe contributed to the poor service. We probably won't be back to try again since we don't live in the area.

1st and likely the last time here the service was lack the food tasted like it was frozen and reheated in the microwave. I have left a more in depth review on Yelp. Suffice it to say there is a reason why there were on 3-5 tables between 5:3-6:30

Great main courses. Found the appetizers to be more along those from a Chinese restaurant. But solid. The Gaprow with crispy pork belly was top notch.

Thai Zappz is my favorite go-to place for authentic Thai food. I love their drunken noodles which are light but have a really good flavour. I also love their cashew stir fry with shrimps which is served with steamed rice. The staff are so sweet and polite. The restaurant has a lovely environment to sit down and enjoy the delicious food.

The worst experience for me here in kansas with this restaurant and the man is working there is very disrespectful person, I do not know how he is the owner of the place , he kicked me out because I am asking him why the order is late, he touches me almost wants to hit me, and when he noticed I am recording he stopped, he as very mean, very rude, very racist to me, I called the police for him and he called the police too after he he noticed I will call too, but he lied to the police and he deleted the videos from his cameras inside the store before the police show up, to hide the truth but he doesn’t know i have more recorders from my phone camera and I will post it in my social media and I will never leave my right.

Good food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere! I had pad see ew and my husband had pork belly grapow. Both tasted good, I just would have liked a little more sauce. I also asked for medium spice, and it seemed more like mild. My husband ordered thai hot and was pretty underwhelmed. Overall, a great experience and we would probably go back.

I am looking for the authentic Thai foods. Finally, I was very happy that I found Thai Zappz. The foods here were authentic and delicious. Service was great. Overall, I felt like I was eating authentic Thai foods in a restaurant in Thailand. I would definitely recommend Thai Zappz.

I think was good first time there

My husband and I have been searching for an authentic Thai restaurant since we moved here from the east coast. After having dinner at Thai Zappz this evening, we know we have definitely found what we were looking for. I ordered the Khao Soi with chicken from the Noodle Soup section and loved it. I chose the medium spice level, and it was just the way I like it. My husband got the Pad Thai with shrimp which he enjoyed, as well. Our waitress was very nice and took good care of us. We would absolutely recommend giving Thai Zappz a try. We will definitely be back.
