This place is a total GEM. It is our Go to spot for the best Thai food. The family that own this are the nicest people you can meet. My family and friends have tried almost everything on their menu, and we have yet to be disappointed. Our go to is Larb salad, and you got get sticky rice with it. The tiger cry and the bbq pork is amazing. The Panang curry is probably the best flavor out of all the Thai spots. I get the green curry cause they use Thai eggplant and its delicious or the Gapow with the fried egg. The noodle dishes are delicious and the vegetables are always fresh and my guy always ask for the crispy catfish but in a Panang curry sauce and they always accommodate. You can not go wrong with ordering anything here. The BEST family serving authentic thai food.

The food here is awesome. We've been several times and love it every time. We usually get pad thai and will try different appetizers. The staff is always friendly and quick to get food and drinks out. The food is awesome when you dine in and still very good as take out.

We were seated outside on their lovely patio. Live music was playing nearby and the food was wonderful. Our server was very personable and attentive.

The food here is amazing. The spice is just right on all of the dishes and the flavor profiles are some that I have not experienced before. If you are looking for good Thai food I would definitely recommend eating here.

This place has great flavors and the friendliest staff. The food was incredible and no matter your spice level they can accommodate you even if you’re looking for something leagues beyond Thai hot they can handle it. I can’t wait to head back to try their lunch selections.

Just awful. My husband and I love Thai food and have tried several places. We decided to try this spot instead of going to our usual favorite. Big mistake. The service was terrible. The waitress seemed annoyed we were even there. We waited 10 minutes before being served. Then we waited 40 minutes to get our food, appetizer included. The food was bland and my rice noodles were way overcooked. They were soggy and sticky. My husband ordered Thai hot and it wasn't even medium. No spice, no flavor. That's what we get for not going to our favorite place. Thai Place forever!!!

Wow! This is a good find! The entrance from the street wasn't impressive, since it seemed always empty inside. Yet, I finally found out the restaurant is long shape/hour glass?!(lol), accessible from farmer's market/parking, actually spacious with bar counter and big 2 tvs which broadcasted Chief's victory parade. Today's soup was flavorful with sweetness, bitterness, sourness and spices. So was my pineapple curry! A server was nice. It looks Valentine's flowers and balloons are available with purchase. I definitely back again and over again!

I stopped by here on a whim on a super cold Saturday. I loved seeing all of the plants in the window. I tried the lemongrass chicken and it was excellent. I love Thai food and this dish was so flavorful and unique. The service was excellent as well.

My new favorite place for Thai food. We out and about running errands and stopped in for lunch. You get soup, appetizer, and entree for a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was absolutely delish. I would highly recommend stopping in and treating yourself to a tasty meal.

Rip off. Ordered gang jued with shrimp and literally got one piece of shrimp cut in three pieces and they gladly charged the $3.I also added “real crab” which was $5 extra only to get two pieces of imitation crab. Not worth the $50 I spent. Will stick to Thai place overland park next time!

Second to none yellow curry in KC and customer service is top notch. They go above and beyond to take care of you and make your experience is enjoyable, especially the gentleman in the front (Michael? I may have his name wrong). When he meets you at the door, you are immediately met with kindness and a high level of professionalism. He’s never gotten any of my “special”orders wrong.

I've had a lot of good Thai food in Kansas City, but Lemongrass has the most unique menu and a lovely dining room. It's quiet, service is good, and the food is excellent.

I love the crispy tofu (dine in for this one!). The pork soft spring rolls are tasty, and every curry or stir fry I've had is excellent. You can't really go wrong here!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t very busy. We had the spring rolls for appetizer and panang curry they were both delicious. Great little area lots of folks out enjoying the sun and the town.

Wonderful thai restaurant in downtown OP. Our experience with the food and service was great. Even though we had a large party of 8, our orders were executed correctly, quickly and were quite tasty. Definitely considering going back in the future.

Arriving 40 minutes before the place closed I knew we could not linger so we ordered quickly and were served promptly. As we dined in the near empty restaurant, 15 minutes before closing, three employees decided to mop all around our table, gassing us with chlorine fumes. This made it impossible to finish our meal. I complained to the lead mopper who said "sorry". I asked for the manager who came promptly over and said "sorry". I waited patiently for some sort of adjustment on our overpriced meal but his blank stare was all I got.
I think I have written three bad reviews in my life so it takes a lot for me to write this. Avoid this place and their arrogance.

Worth every penny, service was great

Found this Thai restaurant when I was running errands nearby. The moment I stepped inside of the restaurant, I could smell the wonderful jasmine rice cooking Ing in the kitchen. The waitress was so friendly and we didn’t have to wait for very long for the food to be served. The lemongrass chicken was very good. And so was the Pad Thai noodle. I would go again and try the curry next time!

Lemongrass is truly my favorite Thai in the area! Their TomKha soup is to die for, you can get it in a large portion to share. I could eat the pineapple curry everyday! Service is always very very fast and orders correct. Lunch menu is also a great deal for a good amount of food!

My favorite Thai food in Kansas City

Just damn tasty.

Pretty darn good thai place squeezed next door to “the other place”. Had the Pineapple Red Curry, medium hot/spicy and was very tasty! Place is on North side of the street across from Strang Hall.

We ordered online which was really easy for us to navigate. Parking in Downtown Overland Park is always an issue but that's not necessarily the owner's fault. The location is easy to find but you might be circling a bit to find a parking spot.

I ordered the lunch special Chicken Pad Thai mild with extra veggies. My partner ordered the Lemongrass Chicken and we also got an appetizer of spring rolls to share.

The spring rolls on their own were dry. I didn't taste any pork flavor but the peanut sauce that it came with saved it. But it felt like all the flavor was from the sauce and not the actual spring roll.

My partner's lemongrass chicken was delicious and the best thing we ordered! It was packed with flavor, chicken was perfectly cooked, and it had the right ratio of meat to veggies. I wish I had ordered what he had it was that good! It does have a strong peppery flavor to compliment the lemongrass. If you're a pepper person, this is the dish for you.

The pad thai however was OK at best. It was pretty bland and didn't have much of a sauce. I tasted a bit of heat but there wasn't much really going for it. I've had better pad thai elsewhere it just felt lacking for me.

Is this authentic? I'm not one to say either way. But I'd advise that some dishes are definitely better than others. They had some very tasty sounding dishes but not a lot of variety when it came to their lunch portion options. I'd be willing to try a different dish and visit again for a more accurate depiction of the restaurant but upon first impression, it didn't stand out much.

Yellow curry seafood was great, crab rangoon was awesome, Sid was amazing!

We had the most odd, embarrassing and awful experience at a restaurant last night. We will never ever go to Lemongrass Thai Cuisine.

To celebrate my husband’s birthday, made a reservation for 7:45pm online and showed up on time. After few minutes of waiting, staff#1 took us to a table and got us water and menus.

Staff#2 came by and yelled at us for sitting at the table saying it was reserved. I tried to tell her that we did have a reservation and that staff#1 told us to sit there. She kept yelling “who did you call to make the reservation?” She made such a scene in the crowded restaurant and stormed off.

Staff#1 came back and told us to ignore staff#2 because “she is PMSing”. We left and had a wonderful dinner at the Thai Place.

My favorite Thai in the KC metro! I go between the green curry, khoa soi, pork belly, and phad thai. You can't go wrong with any of these dishes. Crab Rangoon and mango sticky rice are always a go-to favorite and must have when we eat in! Service is always quick and polite. It's clean and really chill inside. 👌🏼

This was our first dine-in and we had high expectations; it was a bit let down. Our server was not so friendly not a single time asked us if the food is ok. One of the item (roasted duck)they charged us more than the menu price which is 18.99 and ended up charging $25 . Their explanation was duck price has increased and the updated price is not on the menu yet. The Combination fried rice was room temperature which I told the server and he didn't seem to care much. Later the owner arrived from the kitchen and made our experience better and made us the new fried rice to take out and apologize for the mishaps on behalf of the staff. We might try out again.

I have been going to Lemongrass since we moved here. I love great peanut sauce. I can highly recommend every dish and the friendly attentive service by the family, in this family owned and run restaurant.

This is what Thai food should taste like. We had the lemongrass trio (crab rangoon, egg rolls, and spring rolls with a trio of sauces, pineapple fried rice, shrimp pad thai, and yellow curry. All of the dishes were served perfectly and had incredible flavor. I cannot say enough good things. I wanna go back tomorrow!

The vast menu offers a mix of traditional favorites and creative variations, always delicious. The staff is very kind. Love the calm atmosphere here that's great for long conversations over good food. It's especially good for business lunches, where I've always been able to get a table for a group and can comfortably converse in the quiet space but still be private.

A better than average Thai place, but nothing that would make them a top contender in my book. Their buffet is well stocked.

I first tried Lemongrass takeout, since I work a mile away; the chicken larb was the first thing I tried and loved it. My hubs and I went one Friday night, and now he won’t go anywhere else! Not only is the food fantastic, but the ambiance and owner are very welcoming! We went last night and he remembered us. I ordered the larb with extra cilantro and he said “You know the good stuff!” Lemongrass is already on our list of Favorites. 💕

This is a well established Thai restaurant in downtown Overland Park. They have been providing a consistently excellent dining experience for many years. Last night we did spend just over 30 dollars a person but that was with three entrees, 2 appetizers and 3 cocktails. We each brought home enough food for a whole meal. Their pork soft spring rolls are a must have. We also had the tiger cry beef. Both are large servings. For entrees their phad thai is excellent and I am partial to the gapow. Whenever I branch out and try something else I find it equally enticing. If you enjoy Thai, you owe it to yourself to try Lemongrass!

l want to say the food here is absolutely delicious and the service is absolutely amazing upon arrival we was greeted by a worker named Edward he was the one with tattoos on his arms he was extremely polite, he made suggestions when we couldn't decide what to order, he made sure our cups was filled and attended to us when needed. A few moments later a family came in and l noticed the older gentleman was having some kind of health issues by the way he was walking he was walking really slow and maybe had a hard time breathing at the same time because my table wasn't to far away from them. I was very impressed that without thinking or asking our server went up to him and put his arms between him and helped him walk safely to a chair and attended to his needs not only thank you for the amazing food but amazing service as well.

Everything was great when we went there a month ago. Decided to go back today. Ordered the papaya salad again and the portion was half the size from the previous time. The tomku (spelling not sure) soup pot was also less and not as good. The tiger beef wasn’t as good tonight either. I don’t know what happened…new cook and they are out of things? The food is not as good and the portions are very small! Very disappointed! Paid over $106.00 for 5 dishes for 3 people and we left still hungry! We won’t be back!!

Tried to doordash this restaurant. They had no problem taking my money, but didn't deliver the food.

This might be my new go-to for Pad Thai in JoCo. I love the crunchy julienne style veggies, robust flavor and huge portions. Can't wait to dine there again. Best of all there's lots of yummy gluten free options and an atmosphere of welcoming and informative customer service.

A hidden gem in old Overland Park! Food is amazing with a nice variety of curries and pad thai. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of Asian Beers. Service is quick and friendly and very knowledgeable about menu items. She did a great job of listing vegetarian items and explaining heat levels. We will be back!

Best Tom Yum soup in town!

I am used to lackluster service these days. I sympathize with all the staff shortages and new/unexperienced employees that are getting up to speed, but Lemongrass showed me the next level of customer neglect and indifference. Strang Hall was very crowded so my family and I decided to walk across the street to try this well-rated establishment. We checked in at the host stand and stood there for several minutes with no communication of what to expect in terms of our wait. The group behind us was sat before us, I assume because their size fit an open table better than ours, but again there was NO COMMUNICATION until we just bluntly asked how long it would be. We sat and ordered after several more minutes of waiting. We received our appetizers, but waited no fewer than 30 minutes before we finally asked when we would expect our entrees… The waiter just looked at us confused and walked away without telling us what to expect. After another 10 minutes we had enough. I threw enough cash on the table to cover the apps and we left with 2 young, hungry kids crying for noodles. In total we spent 1.5 hours and had nothing but water and appetizers. We will not be returning.

Favorite Thai restaurant in OP. The coconut chicken curry is great, as are the egg rolls and crab Rangoon. The lemongrass shrimp is my wife's favorite.
