I recently had the pleasure of dining at the lovely Thai Orchid in Mission, KS for the first time. My first impression was very positive, as the ambiance was warm and inviting with elegant decor and soft lighting that set the perfect mood for a fine dining experience.

The service was wonderful. Our server, Mary was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. She made excellent recommendations and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect!

Overall, Thai Orchid exceeded all my expectations. The combination of exceptional food, outstanding service, and a lovely atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. I can't wait to return!

This place is simply AMAZING! You need to give yourself the opportunity and try it. I can’t choose just a single item from their menu, but they have the best crab rangoons! If you are looking for a place with great food, great atmosphere, and great service, THIS is the place!

I recently visited Thai Orchid in Mission, and it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. The staff appeared lazy, with several sitting on their computers while guests, including us, waited for service. Our server seemed to be under the influence, which likely contributed to numerous mistakes with our order. We were charged for food and drinks that never even arrived, which was incredibly frustrating.

As for the food, it was bland and lacked authentic Thai flavors—definitely not what I was expecting. It's clear that the restaurant's prime days are long behind them. There are far better Thai options in Kansas, and I won’t be returning.

This is the best Thai restaurant around. Their pad thai is always delicious!! I love the spring rolls, they are incredibly crunchy. Mary did a wonderful job greeting me and brewing a delicious pot of hot Jasmine tea. She recommended the coconut shrimp which I've had elsewhere, but really enjoyed theirs today. The sweet and sour soup was excellent. I loved my experience today as always.

Thai Orchid is a GEM! We have eaten Thai food all over Kansas City (and beyond) and this is hands down our new favorite! Our waitress, Mary, was amazing and so knowledgeable about the menu and gave wonderful recommendations. They even have Happy Hour! From the appetizers to the desserts, we couldn’t have been more pleased. We especially loved the Coconut Shrimp, Pad Sea Ew, and the “My Blueberry Night” dessert. We will 100% be back!

I'm a repeat customer here and I just want to share my latest experience with you. My server , Ash , greated my with a big smile that immediately made me feel at home. She asked me if I had a preference for seating , and I didn't. She gave me the primo window seat so I could people watch while I ate. The papaya salad was excellent! My first time trying it. It took a couple of bites for the spice to reveal itself, and when it did , it was perfect ! The portion size was just right to fill my belly and leave me satisfied. I love Thai Orchid and I can't wait for my next visit , and hopefully Ash will be there with her wonderful smile and service ! Thank you so much!

I first discovered Thai Orchid in the early 1990s, and was a regular customer until a couple of years ago when I retired and moved from the country. It was one of the last restaurants I visited before leaving, and one of the first I called upon when I returned for a visit in January '25.

It is still as great as I remember it; great food, great service, great place. I would give six stars if allowed.

The three-course special was delicious. I come here a lot during regular service and get carry-out too. Big fan of the panaeng curry and the green curry. Got the green with pork today, plus the Tom kha soup

This is a higher end place with stepped up atmosphere and service.

The tom kha (first course) was one of the best I’ve had (strong flavor, good balanced creaminess). My husband loved his massaman curry. Ken was a great server. Very personable and attentive. The other staff we interacted with were noticeably friendly as well.

Everything was prepared quickly & our waitress Mary was very attentive & friendly!

This is my favorite Thai restaurant! Jeb has always been a fabulous server every time we come here. Everything I have tried so far has been delicious. I am vegetarian and they have so many flavorful and filling options. I love the green curry and the massaman curry with tofu. Truly a gem!

Top tier! Would go again! They had great food and a beautiful atmosphere. Even with it being busy, it was still not too loud to hear the person in front of you. They kept the place very tidy and warm for the cold weather. Mary was our server and they were very kind and upbeat. They were very creative in making the Ploy cocktail virgin. The cocktail turned our absolutely exceptional!! Where there was a mishap with the order it took no longer than 5 minutes for the order to be resolved and new food ready to eat.

Overall I give this place a 10/10

Thai Orchid is a long-standing favorite here in Mission. Trying out KC Restaurant Week, I decided to try all new things. From the Thai sausage to the seafood pad Thai and mango sticky rice, it was all fantastic. And such great service from Isaiah! 10/10

I have never eaten here before & made the decision because of their participation in restaurant week. We were greeted immediately upon entering, were quite surprised to see tablecloths & plenty of staff.

We are here for restaurant week during the lunch service and was extremely happy with our food. The waitress Ken was terrific explaining all the different options and even sharing her favorite.
She also said they are opening one in the Northland of KC, Mo., we can't wait for this to happen because we live north of that .

We popped in during restaurant week to check out Thai Orchid and I am so glad we did. We tried multiple different items and all were amazing! All the staff were as polite as usual and Ken took great care of us even on a very busy Restaurant Week night.
