The food was tasty! The sushi rolls (pics attached) had a good presentation and the flavor was solid. The hibachi looked good too and the review from my dad was similar to our sushi - it's good, not great. My mom also had a bowl of curry and it came with 5 levels of hot, so having the choice to pick your level of spice was a great feature. Also, the bowl of curry was HUGE so you get fed well, I can promise you that :)

Nothing bad to say really, it's Emporia sushi, so don't come in thinking it's high bar. But the staff is very nice and the sushi and hibachi are good so you'll have a good night out.

Very disappointed they don’t have Thai tea anymore. This was the only place in town to get it. A lot of people went there solely for the Thai tea including my family. Unfortunately we will be crossing this place off in the future for outings.

Ate lunch with my girlfriend this past Friday. We have a practice of one paying the bill and other leaving a tip. She left a cash tip; however, I received a notification from my card company that they added a 51% tip. Be warned!

They are closed! Website says they are open!! Drove an hour to eat here, so mad! Hey update your website so people dont waste their time!

Very disappointed. I ordered the chicken and lobster with the fried rice. The rice was soooo bland and cold. The chicken and lobster tasted good but I barely got any chicken.

AWFUL experience! They were sold out of half the menu items and took my friends order for a steak and then came out way later only to say “sorry we gave our last steak to the other table so you have to pick something else instead.” (WE WERE THERE FIRST). Ashlynn(waitress) took 30 mins to bring drinks and an hour and 20 mins passed and I had to ask waitress where my food was! Everyone else was getting food who had ordered way later than me and they said they had “closed the kitchen” and forgot about my meal and couldn’t make anything else even tho they took an order for my friend that wanted food to take home and she said they would make it at the end and then refused because they “closed the kitchen and aren’t taking more orders” with customers in the building just starting to eat and I still didn’t even have my food. Waitress was so bad, and she didn’t even know how to handle the situation, management came when I complained about how bad our experience was and that it took WAY TOO LONG and all they gave us was a “discount for the boba” & 10% off next order ONLY, And yeah right Like I want to go back there! 😡They also tried to send my food with me, that I waited over an hour a half for, and didn’t even give me my rice that came with my meal! I had to once again complain and ask where the rice is. I wanted an itemized copy of the receipt too and all I got was a piece of paper saying we paid $95 AND THAT WAS WITH THE “DISCOUNT”!
Those employees have horrible customer service skills! Complete rip-off and bad experience! The time before that my friend got very sick after eating there. Will not be back! You lost a great customer! Mizumi is much better anyways.

2 Adults 1 child. Server didn’t seem to know anything about the menu and instead of finding out she just gave us half as$ answers. Ordered a kids meal with drinks and it came out 30 minutes later with our food. Pretty disappointed. Only grace was the food is really good.

Waited over 45 min to get cold food and we had hibachi. Ordered filet minion and shrimp and we literally got 4 small pieces of steak and 4 shrimp.

We brought a large group to Ichiban's and were quite frankly blown away! Our Server (Jin) was excellent; she was attentive to our needs and very kind. By the end of the meal, everybody at the table was literally clapping for her!

I order the Beef Fried Rice and the California Roll and they both were delicious. The food was great yet still affordable.

The Boba tea is also very good and is reason enough to come back. If you are looking for a top notch establishment, go to Ichiban's!

The staff was very kind and professional. The wait was very reasonable. We liked the atmosphere -- kinda geeky and also beautiful. Harry Potter was playing on one of the screens, and we really liked the mix of modern and traditional Asian art.
For food, we got the spicy salmon roll, green Thai curry with chicken, and bulgogi (Korean barbecue beef), plus a Thai tea. I'd always been skeptical of fusion restaurants: can they really serve food from so many different cultures and do it justice? Well, I was very impressed! Everything was delicious. The curry was spicy and robust, the sushi fresh and complex, the bulgogi meat was WONDERFUL. The only complaint I have is about the kimchi. It wasn't fermented, spicy, salty, garlic, gingery, etc. It was bok choi soaked in a red pepper sauce, sure, but not scratching that kimchi itch. The bulgogi was also served with shredded raw cabbage which was interesting..... But the meat was so good, I didn't mind. We all really enjoyed ourselves and will go back again.

Always have a great experience here! People are always nice and welcoming and the food is phenomenal (a bit pricey but worth it) Jin was our most recent server and she was absolutely delightful!

Amazing place to enjoy dinner with the family!

The food is excellent, but the last two times I’ve visited the service was horrible. The last time, we were the first to walk in at opening, and the last to be served after over an hour of waiting. The “manager” (not really sure he was, he didn’t act like a manager) made excuses for his waiter (who we’ve had twice and was horrible both times). The waiter forgot to put in our order and tried blaming the cooks. We spent 1.5 hours there waiting, he never refilled our drinks, and we had to remind the guy to bring out salads and soups. I sound like a “Karen,” but ‘tis true. The manager was unpleasant and gave us 15% off, when he should have comped our order for how badly we were treated after we had to hunt both of them down to get service.

Decent place to grab hibachi or sushi. I recommend the sushi as they have a great selection. The steak and chicken hibachi was decent but overly salty. Recommend the steak over the chicken as the cuts and flavor are better.

We came with 2 adults and 3 children. Our server Jin was AMAZING and so attentive! Our food was so delicious. This photo was my order of steak and shrimp with fried rice, it was so good. We ordered calamari, gyoza and crab Rangoon as appetizers. They all where great as well and very flavorful. Ordered a few boba teas and they where a hit! One of the kids ordered their rainbow sushi plate and loved all of it. We took a few boxes of what remained home to eat. Not one complaint here and outstanding service.

I ordered salmon from the hibachi- it was slimy and undercooked. The fried rice that came with it was gross- waaaaaaaay too much of the teriyaki sauce. The bathrooms are also not clean- very sticky.

I usually get a noodle dish or sushi here, both of which are great, but recently I had the kbbq short ribs and coconut soup, which were also amazing. Even though they're short-staffed, they still have great customer service and I'll probably always come here when I visit

Ichiban catered for the Emporia Arts Center for our performance tonight, Shakespeare In Jazz and they did a wonderful job! Food was hot and of course wonderful, ordering was super easy and they delivered it super fast! Everyone enjoyed the food! Thank you to the whole staff, we will definitely order catering from them again

The service was fast and friendly. There was a problem with the food and they fixed it graciously and without complaint.

Stopped to have sashimi but the fish was not 'satisfactorily cold' for my expectations. We ordered two separate platters of sashimi, but the chef decided, without asking us, to combine both orders into one platter. The tuna was sliced very thin. Unable to verify the number of pieces we received. The waitress was very sweet and attentive but when I asked about the fish 'temperature', she commented that it was because 'is so hot now'. Took the fish home and I cooked it the next day, just as a precaution.

Me and my son waited 5 plus mins to be seated couple came in. Asked us our we line line. I said no they know we are waiting. We get seated then about 4mins couples gets seated so no biggie yet. Then the couple who came in 5 mins after us. A party of two like us gets helps first. Then we get helped but only drinks before I can say I know what we want she takes off. We get our drinks but then again takes off even though I'm ready to order about 15 mins of sitting there she gives the couple an app. Then comes to us to take our order effing almost 20mins in sitting there at the table with or drinks as I see people coming in after us getting there apps and eating...eff you

Saw someone put her fingers on someone's plate several times before it was served. Party of four and two of us got our food almost 30 min before the rest of us got ours. Will not be going back.

The Coconut soup was unique and the Unagi was wonderful as well.

Wow! Started with the calamari (loved it with the sweet dipping sauce). Then I had the hibachi salmon and my husband the filet mignon and lobster. Oh.... Delicious. Savored every bite. The grill is out where I could see Jeff working his magic as the food was grilled. Finished with my first taste of fried oreos a la mode. We shared it. Next time I get the whole thing. Yes there will be a next time! The final thing is the staff. Great service with a smile.

Surprisingly good

This place was very good but it has unfortunately degraded since the pandemic. A corner of the restaurant seems to be used as a lounge area for staff who are not on duty or managers. It is cluttered and unkempt. The waiter put his thumb in our food, this should be dealt with the first day of training. Very unfortunate!

It was our first time at this restaurant. The food was super delicious...we loved it. I can't wait to go back. The service was excellent too.

I had a side of fried rice and the volcano roll. They were both super tasty! My friend had the hibachi steak. He said the steak was very chewy. Only reason I didn’t give five stars. Other than that, everything was great! The staff was very friendly and attentive! We were passing through going from Fort Worth, Texas to KC and we will definitely stop again next time!

These guys crush it every time! They have amazing traditional Chinese fare and some awesome sushi. Great food all around, great service and love the atmosphere!

Seriously. Time after time, ichiban outdoes themselves. The food is fresh, and every time I eat here, I swear its better than the last. If you've never eaten here, I promise you'll find something you love. And if you like to eat adventurous, you can go through their menu for a year and not eat the same thing twice. I am obsessed with their Korean barbecue, their miso soup is insanely good, and each sushi roll they make is made with love.

With a new owner and great employees their service is great. Hit any suggestions to improve.

We ordered delivery and we received it promptly and still hot!! My wife had Korean BBQ Beef and I had the house fried rice. OMG!!! That was the best, most flavorful fried rice I have ever had in my life!!! The Korea BBQ was absolutely delicious!!! The only bad thing about this experience is that we are just passing through and can't have it again tomorrow. BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!

Lived in Emporia for 5 years now and had never been here. Tonight (7/8/2020), I finally did and was very pleased! I don't know who was cooking but the steak was delicious! Fried rice was too! My other half's General Tso's Chicken was also super good! He loved that it had some spice to it!
I've always heard that it's "super expensive" or "wasn't good". However, I didn't think so. It costs just about the same amount as when we go to the Chinese restaurant.
All-in-all, we loved it!!

Booths are huge and have an awesome back rest. Sushi and nigiri were delicious even to someone who doesn't like fish. Duck sauce that they serve with the crab Rangoon compliments nicely and is delicious. Server was knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely a new favorite in town

Ate here with a friend for lunch. The staff was very friendly and checked in with us just the right amount of times. I ordered the 3 roll sushi lunch, it was well prepared and tasted great - I certainly did not leave hungry. The atmosphere is nice and clean.
