It’s a cozy beautiful restaurant.
They have really good vegetarian options for every course of meal!
I loved the sticky tofu. I would recommend the Tom Yum soup. For Entrees I had the drunken noodles with Tofu.
The portion size is good, by the end I had to pack most of my drunken noodles.
Just ensure that you have a reservation ahead of time as there could be some wait time.
We came here at the recommendation of a friend who used to live in town. Cute place situated at the end of Mass Ave. I recommend having a reservation as the restaurant is on the smaller side and is quite popular. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table which was no issue at all. We had the crab puffs for an appetizer and I got the drunken noodles as my entree. The food was delicious. They have a great selection of wine and cocktails. I would absolutely come here again.
Visited Indianapolis for a Taylor Swift event with my cousin bhaggy and, after landing, we were starving. We searched on Google and found Bodhi Thai, drawn in by the stellar reviews—and it did not disappoint!
We walked in without a reservation at 8:53 PM, just minutes before the kitchen was set to close at 9. Despite the time crunch, the staff was incredibly welcoming and graciously seated us. We ordered the shrimp soup, Thai green curry, and tofu fried rice.
The presentation was beyond impressive, with the soup served over a flame to keep it hot—what a fantastic touch! It was hands down the best soup I’ve ever had. The main courses were equally delicious, perfectly prepared, and bursting with authentic Thai flavors.
Our server, Abby, and the food runner were absolutely amazing, making our experience even more memorable with their warmth and attention to detail. If I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I would! Bodhi Thai is a must-visit if you’re ever in Indianapolis!
Located at the very north end of Mass Ave, this place is a hidden gem. More classy than the usual Thai restaurant, spice level was right on. The food was delicious and authentic, the shrimp I added as the protein to my entree was very fresh and larger in size compared to some of the other Asian restaurants’ seafood. Entree portions were generous. Honestly thought it was an Indian food place from the name at first, but BODHI is going to be my new Thai buddy! 😂🤤 The place was packed (we went there on a Friday night so it’s not surprising), but service was still fast and friendly. They have an hour and a half sitting limit which is more than reasonable. The outdoor garden seating has an excellent ambiance. Foodies won’t be disappointed, on par with the many NYC Thai places I have dined at, but without the attitude.
So first we started with the spring rolls, which are definitely selfmade and pretty good. Same for the cocktails. My tofu pad kra pao was good, but a little bit too salty. Besides that the flavor was rather authentic. However I do not understand why there is edamame in this dish. The tofu massaman curry had many different aromas, but it was definitely too sweet, especially in combination with the cinnamon. Service was good.
Love everything we had but specifically the Massaman curry and the papaya salad taste like no other. Next time I will order a side of Jasmine rice to even up the flavors. The lemon grass soup and drunken noodles were just good a little on the salty side. Service was amazing! Alcoholic Drinks look fancy but the Thai tea was best x me.
Best Thai restaurant in Indiana so far. Parking convenient. Beautiful restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.
The staff was amazing and on their A game, from the host and hostess at the door to our server Jon, the service was impeccable. The inside is so cute and the playlist was such a vibe. I have been wanting to try Bodhi for a while and I am so happy I finally had the chance. I had the tofu drunken noodles medium spicy and I will definitely be back to try more.
Simply one of Indy’s best. Everything is unbelievably delicious and spiced/seasoned to perfection. Our go to is definitely some spring rolls and skewers or wings to start, and then some fantastic curry as the main dish, but you really can’t go wrong. Such a fun vibe too, and the waitstaff is great.
I really love this place. I’ve been a few times before, and the food has always been top notch. Our server was also great, but I will give it a 4/5 because the hostess (curly haired) made an odd comment when I showed her my super valid work permit: “just a reminder, this is going to expire in May.” And she proceeded to say: “it’s important guys.” I felt that was a very unnecessary remark for many reasons, also because this is a restaurant and not an airport. Plus, I am a law abiding individual who is super aware of her own visa status. Anywho, thanks for the reminder I guess? Great food tho, keep it up lol. 🙏
Bodhi’s Pad Thai is packed with flavor—definitely one of the best I’ve had. The wait on weekends can be long, but it just proves how good the food is. I’d recommend getting there early to grab a spot. Luckily, The Garage is nearby for drinks, or you can explore Mass Ave while you wait. Trust me, the meal is worth it!
This place was very good but I think I was expecting a bit...more. It took us 3 hours to get a table so we expected a pretty mind-blowing experience, and that's not really what we got.
Don't get me wrong, everything was VERY good. The food, the service, the drinks. Lots of creativity. But I think it might be a BIT over-hyped.
I had the drunken noodles and while they were certainly tasty they were also quite "busy" and just kinda...a pile of food. There wasn't really anything that distinguished them from the drunken noodles at any other higher-end Thai place. Yes, they tasted good but I was kinda left wondering what all the hype was about this place.
It's a good restaurant but I'm not sure it's worth literally *lining up for* and waiting several hours for a table.
Their homemade authentic Thai food is quite literally the best in the entire state, not kidding. We make it a habit to go here at least once a month from about 40min north. Definitely worth the drive, every time. No reservations but always worth the wait!! You have to try this place and work it into your normal rotation.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Indianapolis, Bodhi is the place to be. From the moment you step inside, the ambience is simply magical—every detail feels intentional, creating an atmosphere that’s warm, inviting, and utterly unique.
The food is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is a testament to the love and dedication of its women-owned team, representing three generations of family recipes and authentic Thai flavors. The portions are incredibly generous, and the taste is simply out of this world.
The staff? Absolutely amazing. They are attentive, welcoming, and truly elevate the dining experience. Combine that with a thoughtfully crafted drink menu.
In the summer, their outdoor seating is an absolute dream—perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather. whether you’re dining inside or outside, the atmosphere feels effortlessly elegant yet relaxed.
If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would, but I’ll gladly settle for 5 to highly recommend this incredible spot.
Thank you, Bodhi, for bringing such a vibrant and authentic Thai experience to downtown Indianapolis. It’s a place I return to again and again.
Edit (November’24)
A great experience and seems the staff is inconsistent and rude! This time around the staff was super sweet and previous experience was meh
Edit (January’24):
Booked a table for a friends night out and had a bad experience in terms of service! Food as always was on point! The waitress was least interested in serving and the table took forever to get arranged, over 3.5hours! It feels it’s like you have to deal with bad service when you want great food! I would highly suggest takeaway
This place is lovely! It’s almost always has waiting! This time we were determined to wait and grab dinner. If you want to have dinner around 7, then go atleast half an hour earlier to get your name in the waitlist.
Food: We ordered a little bit too much as we want to try more. We ordered the vegetable spring roll, the pork skewers, drunken noodles and cashew stir fry. The food was delicious and the portion sizes are quite generous.
Drinks: We ordered Emerald Buddha and Pink pong drink. Emerald Buddha was fruity and sweet whereas the pink ping drink was cream based
Ambience: the place was hustling with people and the overall atmosphere was lively. We didn’t get a table and opted for bar to reduce the wait time and it was one of the best decisions! The staff was super sweet and they gave great recommendations basis your inputs.
Long wait but atmosphere food and service were superb
Amazing service, atmosphere, and food. Every dish was flavorful and had me wanting more. I was fully satisfied with all my selections. The server was very attentive and had great suggestions on what to choose. Tons of vegan dishes to chose from! There is a 1hr 30min limit on dining to make room for their many guests. Definitely a must try.

Get there early as there are no reservations and tables will fill up instantly on a weekend. For appetizers, we had the pork satay and spring rolls. For entrees, we really enjoyed the yellow curry and pad kaprow. The cocktail menu runs the gamut and there is something tasty for every palate. Our only complaint was how close the tables were to one another. The service was great.
One of the best overall dining experiences i have had in a long time. Better get there early¹
One of the best meals I’ve had in Indy in a long time. Incredible Thai food, great drinks, really good vibe (the music, etc). Easily top of my list to revisit next time I’m in town
Best Thai food/drinks! Favorite date night spot! They don’t take reservations.
Had the pad thai vegan with tofu. Unfortunately, it just lacks flavor. They do spice well, but it's all heat and minimal flavor. The squeeze of lime juice added more flavor than the whole dish had on its own 😬
However, i did enjoy the ability to mark allergies when ordering online. I also like how their menu specifically labels allergies and options to make items vegan!
Traveling through town for Thanksgiving recently my family and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. We had a bottle of wine, an app, and each had an entrée for about $40 each. Great deal and amazing food.
Warning, real spice in this food. I love spice and medium was hot enough for me.
Upscale Thai restaurant with a warm and cozy atmosphere. Great food. Friendly and attentive staff. Good spot for a night out.
The food and service here is excellent. Amazing creative cocktails as well. Highly recommend. Be prepared to wait a bit- put your name in and stroll around Mass Ave while waiting. 21+ so great date night.
Our experience at BODHI was exceptional. The bartenders were all very nice and welcoming. The cocktails were outstanding. I recommend their BODHI old fashion - wife hat the Manhattan which she found to be delicious. The food was also spectacular. I recommend their Drunken Noodles! This was our first time coming and will not be our last.
I find it challenging to know where to begin this review, as there is much to discuss about this establishment. First and foremost, I must address the attitude of approximately 90% of the hostesses and some servers, who exhibit a level of rudeness and pretentiousness that is quite off-putting. Their hipster/liberal demeanor gives the impression that being rude is somehow acceptable, which I fail to comprehend.
Having visited multiple times, I am aware that the kitchen closes at 9 PM. However, I have been informed at 8:00 and 8:15 that there are no available tables, despite seeing several open ones. Even when I call ahead to confirm the absence of a waiting list, the response remains unhelpful, with no effort made to offer alternatives, such as takeout options or ways to accommodate my visit. The lack of customer service is palpable, leaving me with a sense of being unwelcome.
Regarding the food, it began on a positive note but appears to have declined over time. The yellow curry now tastes watered down, and there are limited options for those seeking spicier dishes. It seems that this place is more about the hype than delivering consistent quality.
I encourage you to take a moment to read through the various negative reviews. You will likely notice a pattern in the defensive responses from the owner, which tend to discredit the feedback instead of demonstrating humility or a willingness to make improvements. It almost feels as if they rely on tools like ChatGPT to craft their replies.
If you are in search of genuinely great food accompanied by excellent service, I highly recommend visiting Modita, an Asian fusion restaurant just down the street. It’s within walking distance and consistently provides exceptional dining experiences, as do all the Cunningham restaurants.
I anticipate the owner may respond defensively, citing their status as a family-owned establishment and their limitations on accommodating guests. However, I believe that as a family-run business, there should be an even greater commitment to customer satisfaction compared to corporate entities. Unfortunately, the current approach seems to reflect a reluctance to address the underlying issues. It would be beneficial for the management to engage in some self-reflection and work towards enhancing the overall experience for their customers.
We came here at the recommendation of a friend who used to live in town. Cute place situated at the end of Mass Ave. I recommend having a reservation as the restaurant is on the smaller side and is quite popular. We visited to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed. The staff were amazing and the atmosphere was vibrant!
The outside patio was delightful. The drinks and food were very good. I've had better Thai food in Thailand but this is the best in Indiana so far, that's for sure. And the service was top notch.
This is hands down THE best Thai food in the city. But get their early and wait if needed, they don’t take reservations and it’s worth the wait. The food is next level, delicious and you can tell it’s made fresh and with care.
I've been hitting up BODHI for the last two years, and it never lets me down! Seriously, it's the best Thai spot in the city, and the cocktails are amazing too. You can really see the pride in a family-owned place like this. I totally recommend checking it out—you won’t regret it! We’ve had Ellie as our server a few times, and she's awesome! Super friendly and knows her stuff, which makes the whole experience even better.
Visited Indianapolis for a Taylor Swift event with my cousin bhaggy and, after landing, we were starving. We searched on Google and found Bodhi Thai, drawn in by the stellar reviews—and it did not disappoint!

The green curry was perfectly spiced, piping hot and delicious!
Everything was fantastic, from the service to the food.
I am curious, though, if they use MSG in their dishes because once I got home, I had a headache. It's not listed as any ingredient, so I didn't think to ask if it was in use, as I do have a sensitivity to it. I thought it was a one-off, but when I ate my leftovers, I also got a headache. Just a fair warning for those who are also sensitive to MSG products!
My friend and I had the absolute pleasure of finding this absolute gem on our trip to Indy! Dalton took fantastic care of us and had extensive knowledge of the menu and really tailored his suggestion to our individual palettes. The portions are substantial, flavors exceptional, and service phenomenal. The attention to detail paired with its chic atmosphere, makes it a delightful dining experience. I have told any and everybody if they are ever in Indy to stop by this restaurant. You
The flavors will amaze your palate. Omg, this is too good. We ordered Basil Fried Rice and Massaman Curry. Will definitely come back. 10/10.
Outdoor patio area was amazing.
Vibes are immaculate! The food is good but not quite the best Thai, but the atmosphere and drinks make up for it. They have lots of unique cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks in a chill, cozy setting with nice lighting and a cool plant wall. Great for a night out with friends!
It's a unique spot with strong drinks and great food.
The food was good, but the Thai iced tea was way too sweet. I personally wouldn’t recommend it unless you enjoy drinking sugar milk. The staff was friendly and nice, but the food took forever to come out; my friends and I waited at least 40 minutes. We watched others who came after us get their food first. The place was cute, though.
Great vibes. Great food
Amazing food and atmosphere. Great service. Food is flavorfull spicy (even though we requested medium)!
Lots of vegetarian options.
Drinks and foods so good! The only thing I don't like is the parking.
The restaurant is off the beaten path and some may say it's a hidden gem, but apparently every one knows about this wonderful place. A great food and drink menu for you to explore. Everything is delicious. Slight ding on service since the server forgot my drink and didn't own up to it. I'm sure it'll be top notch next visit.
Always spot on
Great waitstaff and nice menu..
A quaint little spot with an abundance of flavor represented by the atmosphere, service, and most especially, the food.
This was literally some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. There was a curry noodle soup special the evening we went, and I will be calling in advance to find out if they’re ever doing this recipe again because I couldn’t get enough of it. I don’t even live in-state and will be back here. Flavors are delicate and robust, drinks were great (NA options were solid), service was absolutely on point. Only complaint is that the tables next to the bar are way too close to the barstools. There’s enough room to move them even 6”-9” away making bar entry and exit much less difficult and awkward. Otherwise, I can’t wait to go back!!!
Had an amazing date night experience here! Everything was on point from the service to the cocktails. Spring rolls were super fresh, crispy and flaky and we really enjoyed the sweet dipping sauce. Chicken pad Thai was the perfect level of spicy and the massaman curry was easily one of the best dishes I’ve had at any restaurant. Server was very personable and gave some great recs. We tried a few cocktails, highlights were the bo-ba-dhi and the mango sticky rice inspired drink. There’s always a wait here as they don’t take reservations, but I don’t mind because it’s such a well rounded experience. It is an intimate vibe but a beautiful space. Also try the gallery pastry dessert features, the berry cheesecake was the perfect end to our meal. Must-try if you are in the Indy area!
Music is a little too loud. But spice chasers will be eased with an extra spicy.
Bohdi is a beautiful restaurant with outstanding cuisine. It feels more like a restaurant you would find in New York, LA or Chicago. Our server, Ryan, could not have been better. He made excellent recommendations, timed our dishes perfectly, and made our experience special. Well done!
Order the gin & tonic!
I have never had a bad experience here. The food is always the perfect temperature... spice level... the drink menu is unreal. My bf and I come here knowing we can splurge a little for a perfect date night :)
The waiter was inattentive, and at some points deliberately ignored us it seems, although the other staff were friendly and helpful. Food was okay but appetizers were delicious .
We had papaya salad, drunken noodles, mango/sticky rice cocktail (pictured below). We also had wings, crab puffs, and Thai fried rice, and an old fashioned (not pictured). EVERYTHING was above expectation. It tasted so fresh, innovative, and memorable. We’ll definitely be back.
The only criticisms I have: they never gave me the itemized bill, and they were going to collect payment without telling me the cost. Then you have to ask for a receipt. Also, they don’t give you new cutlery for each course. Even considering this, the food and drinks were so good and the restaurant was so cute I still give them five stars.
The atmosphere of this establishment has the perfect vibe, outstanding staff, beautiful scenery and remarkable food. The food came out super fast and was hot and delicious. I needed a place that was good for my soul to recharge and this place provided a wonderful start for that. The serving size is more than enough for the price you pay. The ambience is perfect. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking perfection, or as close to it as you can possibly get.
Everything about Bodhi is exceptional!
Love Bodhi!!!
Visited while in town and it was the best meal had on the trip! The food was fantastic and my group ordered four different items, with everything tasting amazing. I'll definitely be back if I'm in town again.
Upscale Thai food and drink, full of intense flavor in a stunning setting. Sat at the bar with a friend for our first visit and we were simply blown away at the fresh, intense flavor of everything we enjoyed. Very generous servings of main plates. We are self proclaimed foodies and haven't stopped raving since we left. If you appreciate good food and flavor, look no further.
The ambiance was amazing, eclectic and beautiful. The vibe was sultry and loud as a bar should be. Arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday, were quoted an hour wait but our table was ready in 30 minutes. They do not accept reservations, assuming this may different for large parties?
Our bartender was very attentive the first half of our visit but seemed very forgetful towards the end. We ordered second rounds of drinks that never made it to us (or on our bills) and sat waiting for our check for a while. It was a very busy evening so understandable under the circumstances. Won't deter us from returning!
Awesome food!
Very good
Amazing!!! Delicious!!
Really great food, drinks, and atmosphere! Excellent staff and service!
Sooo good! Great atmosphere and Lane is a wonderful server!!
Needs to be +21. Went there shortly after they opened but already busy. While getting some drinks, we placed an order for take out: we asked for no peanut/tree nut, but papaya salad came with some cashews. The container had a sticker with # to text if you have any issues with your order, which we thought was very nice. Our allergic person decided not to eat it
anyways, and the rest of us enjoyed it with cashews. It had more carrots than papayas yet still delicious. Yellow curry, green curry, drunken noodles, wings, and fried rice were all good portion and flavorful. The bartender who was putting our orders in said “looks like somebody’s gonna have a good night,” and sure enough, we so did. Prices are not bad at all. We weren’t crazy about spring rolls, so we’d probably skip it next time. Both drinks and service were very good. We will definitely be back when we are in Indy.
Seriously the best Thai in Indy. Huge drink selection as well as mixology type drinks. Food is simply amazing, best cooked tofu as well which is hard to find. You must love flavor to eat here! Can get spicy so let them know if you are sensitive. Drunken noodles, chili basil stir fry are our faves. 21+ with great indoor atmosphere and beautiful huge patio. My price rating did include and appetizer so please keep that in mind.
My daughter and I came here yesterday for Mother’s Day and it was so beautiful! The food, service and cocktails were outstanding.
Everything about this experience was phenomenal. We will definetly be back with friends next time to share the expirience!
Authentic Thai Dining Experience!
Our group of three were in town and looking for healthy, from-scratch dining: we hit the jackpot.
Relatively easy to find with decent parking. Be patient with Google Maps as there is construction in this formerly semi-industrial area.
BODHI is a 21 and older establishment that is first-come-first serve. There is a time limit of 1.5 hours, which is plenty of time to enjoy BODHI. Well worth the planning process/adjustments to your schedule.
Beautifully repurposed building! BODHI offers indoor and outdoor seating that accommodates solo dining, to couples and their outdoor community seating can easily fit a group of 10+.
A very nice blend of exposed brick, beams, and metal with natural woods floors along with antique and modern lighting. Also, a mix of natural and tastefully done artificial flowers and greenery, accompanied by various metal and high polished wood tables and seating outside.
Once we opened the heavy front door, we were greeted with smiling staff that were poised to facilitate a memorable time. Alex was our server and helped us navigate the amazing, handcrafted cocktail menu and plate options along with the backstory of BODHI.
We started with iced water, handcrafted cocktails, and an appetizer.
Our cocktails included the Tom Kah which blended dark rum, whiskey and Mezcal with pineapple, orange cream of coconut. Finished with two dried chili peppers and basil, poured over cubes of ice. Alcohol forward, without bringing a tear to your eyes, and a smooth finish with the Mezcal laying flat on your tongue.
The second cocktail was BODHI's take on a French 75: Françoise & Étienne. What an interpretation! Gin base with rhubarb liqueur and Rose sparkling wine. This was finished with lemon and tangerine infused ice.
Finally, Bua Loi, which is another delicious gin-based drink with lychee (strawberry/pear-like) liqueur and coconut water – very refreshing!
Water and cocktails helped washed down our scrumptious springs rolls (5 come in an order with plum sauce). This helped set the stage for a phenomenal set of platters.
Each of these dishes were an explosion of balanced flavors that danced wonderfully between savory and sweet, hearty and light, quick and lingering. Amazing!
Request share plates, bowls and utensils to chopstick, fork, spoon or otherwise get the food in your mouth.
First was the Coconut Soup. This is on the lighter side of spicy, however, this ended up being the table favorite. Coconut milk base with lime and sweet tomato to finish this foundation. Onions and mushrooms for the next layer, finished with galangal (ginger meets turmeric) and aromatic herbs. The tofu enjoyed this bath of flavor. Also available with either chicken or shrimp.
Next was the Papaya Salad. Medium spicy and the most complex dish. Thai green papaya and carrot base, with tomato, edamame, and sweet corn second layer, finished with peanuts, cashews, Thai chili, lime, and garlic. Tastefully decorated with dry pork rind.
Finally, the heat was brought with the spiciest dish: Drunken Noodles with tofu. Again, this dish is also available with chicken, shrimp, or steak. These rice noodles are wide and flat. Think of broken lasagna noodles, in terms of size. Wonderful Thai basil base, almost creamy with mushrooms, edamame, and spring greens. Enveloped with sweet onion and red bell pepper. The spice arrangement kept us coming back for more while the heat kept serving, we were not deterred. Flavor wins! This is not hot for the sake of hot. This was flavor delivered on a flaming, classy steam engine.
A clear re-visit, with one in our party committed to making a trip to Indianapolis just to visit BODHI. I am also considering a destination dining experience at BODHI.
As I close out this novel of a review – which is a testament to how good this experience was – the overall price points allow a larger audience to enjoy high caliber, and authentic culture cuisine. This is karma in action!
BODHI nails it and receives a truly earned and genuine five-star review.
One of the best in Indy. Incredible food for very reasonable prices.
(Troy was delightful)
Everything is great. Kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant does. Wish Google reflected that, but oh well, not Bodhi's fault. Hit them up for sure!!
Most delicious meal I've had in a long time
Bodhi never misses. Food, drinks, and service are always fantastic.
Best cocktails in the city with some incredible food to match a beautiful backdrop. Best drink and food pairing menu I’ve seen in Indy with some truly unique and creative creations that can’t be found anywhere else. If you’re looking for a fun and sophisticated date spot or chill dinner to appreciate each bite and sip, would highly recommend.
I don't think they need my review since they are already so highly rated but the other reviews are correct. The food is great, the cocktails are unique and very tasty and if you want to go get there early or be prepared to wait. Got there about 6:15 on a Wednesday and waited about 25 minutes for table for 2. After us I think the wait became a bit longer. I would have waited 45 minutes because it was worth it.
One of the best drunken noodle (Pao Kee Mao) I have got in the states. I was sitting at the bar and the bar tender James was very attentive and helpful. The restaurant fill up pretty quick so I was happy to be there early. The atmosphere is great. I’ll come back for cocktail next time!
Fantastic vibe, great cocktails, delicious food. Would return over and over again.
This place is insanely awesome! I would eat here every week if it wasn't so far away. Everything our group had was delicious! 😋
Let me start by saying the food is 10/10 at Bodhi. I have never had a dish that wasn’t carefully and tastefully prepared. The ambiance is incredible, and the decor and music are always a vibe. The issue with Bodhi is that it is nearly impossible to make solid plans to go. A friend and I arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday and were told that we could add our names to the list but with the current waitlist, they would not be able to guarantee us a table before the kitchen closed. I have had this happen too many times to count as it is almost certain to happen every time I try to meet someone at Bodhi UNLESS we go right when they open. I want to reiterate that I LOVE Bodhi but you better be prepared to have a backup plan.
Don’t let the no reservation policy put you off going here. The food was amazing and I’d highly recommend the crab puffs, tofu and chili and basil stir fry. If you like really spicy food make sure you get the three chili spice added to your dish.
Both cocktails I had (Candy Bar and The Purple in Me) were absolutely phenomenal! The food was incredible as well and it was definitely enough food to share with a friend or take home for the next day. We sat at the bar and our bartender/server was super attentive, helpful, and friendly. We loved every part of our visit here and will definitely be back!!
The cocktails are unique and fun! This is one of my favorite spots for appetizers and cocktails.
One of the best spots in Indy! Eat here practically twice a week and it never gets old. All the dishes are rock solid, and the specials are to die for. Great option for both dining in and takeout.
Hands down some of the best grub in Indy. Cocktail menu, service, ambiance, and portion sizes make this one of the best date night spots around. Eat here!
The best hidden secret. My son invited me out for Thia food and I am glad he did. The best service very friendly and accommodating. I had the drunken Thia noodles very flavorable, plentiful that i had for a couple days. Very nice atmosphere. I loved our waiter, I will be back.
When a special occasion arises, there’s a 98% chance I’m going to opt to eat here. Do yourself a favor and grab a fun cocktail, an order of the crab puffs, and a big ol’ bowl of their spicy drunken noodles.
Amazing food, great staff would go back whenever asked!
Best restaurant in Indianapolis!! It’s not even close!
Fantastic food, creative cocktails, and great service. A little bit crowded, but I still highly recommend!
Def a vibe! It’s so cute n quaint in here. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable and our food was quick, had good seasoning and hot!
Edit: This was not on Valentine's Day, it was a few weeks prior. We wanted to eat dinner there, got there at 6:30 and was quoted 2.5 hours wait. Per website, kitchen closes at 9pm, so they did not explain in person we would not be able to to eat dinner, only drinks. Had to consult the website to confirm this. Do not appreciate the assumptions made be the owner in response.
The wait time was awful despite having a limit on how long you can stay (according to their website). Went someplace else.
Great food, amazing drinks, very nice ambience but rude and contemptuous staff.
They have one of best drunken noodles and chicken Thai curry I’ve ever had.
They know they are top rated and that’s their issue, the wait staff is disdainful and bit snooty which impacts the overall experience. The great kitchen and food service is ruined by wait staff that frowns and is very passive aggressive.
Finally, not a place for big group. We waited 3.5 hours to get a table. It’s a great date night place but not at all meant for any outing having more than 4 people.
Amazing food! There’s high demand, so be aware of that
Loved the food! We tried their vegan selection and ordered the pad thai, drunken and thai basil fried rice and all of it was great!
Their spice levels are truely asian, so if you ask for hot, it will actually be hot.
Very impressed by the food, portions and ambience of the place.
Will highly recommend it 😁
Every dish was fantastic. The drinks were delicious. Staff was friendly and so helpful. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.
If I could give negative reviews I would - when we arrived at 5 PM to be seated, just as they opened, we were told it would be an hour and a half wait for 7 people. So we went to another place in the meantime, when it hit about an hour and a half, we walked back to the business, and we were told that our party was being assessed to be served alcohol because of how we were acting. This was extremely frustrating given how we waited an hour and a half to be served. It was being explained to use that it was due to being mindful of the alcohol licenses of staff, and they could not be held accountable. This involved both the owner, and hostess. So we clarified, does that mean a single person would be singled out, because of how they are portraying themselves? And the answer was yes, the server would have the discretion to decline service. So we made the decision to go elsewhere, because a person should not be able to "assess" someone's personality, not knowing if they were/were not intoxicated, as well as if they knew we had a sober driver in the group to take care of someone who may be intoxicated. This was poorly handled, coming from someone who has over 5 years of servicing experience. Will not go back again.
In reply to the owner's response - if you have a strict policy on someone's "assumed" intoxicated level before being able to dine at your restaurant, you should make that clear up front versus telling us after waiting an hour and a half. We went to an alternative place in the mean time, because that's what people do when they are given a wait time. You are on mass ave, is it abnormal for someone to grab a drink while waiting for their table to be ready? The "birthday girl" was extremely excited to dine at your restaurant, so being turned away was upsetting. I don't need to check out a review from another person that disputes what my personal experience was, and please also don't give me suggestions on what would be beneficial for me regarding my serving experience.
The night in general was supposed to be a fun night out, where we looked forward to trying out a new place, and we did, just not at your restaurant, which is okay, because our party was welcomed and we ended the night on a positive note.
Every single time my wife and I come in here for date night it’s a 10 out of 10! The staff goes above and beyond on making it the best experience! Tonight there was more than beyond unnecessary drama that no staff should even have to handle on any day especially a Saturday night but again they handled it in the most respectful way! Staff safety and security is the top priority in any establishment.
This place is awesome. Food, service, drinks, atmosphere, you really can’t go wrong.
Five stars because they are amazing, but especially to counteract Shelby’s review below. I was at the restaurant when she and her group came in. They went to the bar while they waited and were informed that people can’t order from the bar because the restaurant seats people there instead of first come, first served as most places.
Shelby’s party then accosted the staff by saying, “we’re just ordering a drink” and not accepting the calm explanation.
They then stood in the restaurant while loudly stating how much they did not like being there. When they were to be seated, and had the explanation of concerns about intoxication, they again berated the staff.
Ultimately, they chose to leave and then proceeded to fly the middle finger to the entire restaurant while yelling about how they would be posting negatively as they did.
Massive respect and thanks to the entire Bodhi staff for their professionalism and keeping the situation contained.
This is one of the best restaurants in Indy! They have such great food. I’m always pleased with whatever I get. The cocktails are also fantastic!
food is good but waitstaff staff ruins this place. i am met with snooty attitude every time. Most recently, my husband and I didn't have our phones on us, so didn't know what time it was, nor what time they closed. we walked in and asked if they were still seating. We were told yes and seated at the bar. from that point, we were treated like such a nuisance that we decided to get up and walk out. I heard, "we're closing!" multiple times before i could order. Do you want to know what time it was and what time they closed? It was 8:55pm and they closed at 10 PM. We didn't beg to eat there. We asked if you were seating and you sat us. All you had to do is say we are closed for the night. Treat people with respect or it doesn't matter how tasty your food is. let me guess? Your "dining experience" takes an hour and a half. Well, I wanted to get a quick salad and get the hell out of there, but instead, I just won't be back.
Drinks were creative and amazing. The chicken wing appetizer was a complete disappointment, quite dry and bland. They most likely air fried the chicken wings. Food was quite decent, but not completely authentic. Service was AMAZING. The entire wait staff was attentive to everyone dining, even if it wasn't their table.
Great food, spectacular service, and amazing atmosphere! The food was so flavorful! Definitely recommend trying the crab puffs, and spring rolls, the sauce is delicious!
This place is great! The only thing is, you have to wait for 2 hours to get seated and there is no other way to put your name on a wait list without being there. Dinner here means waiting a long time.
Fish sauce: everything is basically made with fish sauce. I wish they would just make dishes without oyster sauce :/
The food was great, but not necessarily worth a 2 hour wait. The service was pretty bad. Our server only came twice, did not seem to care, and it took about 20 minutes to get our to-go boxes and check.
Edit based on the business's response: The 1.5 hour max policy is posted on the website, fair enough, but who goes to the website looking for such a thing? It's posted at the host stand? Again, fair enough, but the place is so dimly lit it was not noticeable and, again, who looks for such a thing? It was disclosed at seating? Absolutely untrue. I'd recommend putting a timer at each table that goes off at the 1:30 mark to indicate to patrons it's time to leave, even when there's no one waiting for a table and there are empty tables all around, as was the case with us and as others have stated in their review.
I stand by my original review: If you want slightly above mediocre food at a place that thinks it's a bigger deal than it actually is and all the attitude that goes along with that, then this is your place. If you want a lot better than mediocre, then the area has plenty of other options.
Original review: You can’t make reservations. When you get there they’ll tell you it’s a 2- hour wait. Don’t expect to belly up to the bar and order drinks while you wait—not allowed. They’ll tell you to leave and go somewhere else while you wait. And if you’re meeting friends that you haven’t seen for a year, and you’re still catching up after your meal, they’ll ask you to leave not because they’re closing, but because they feel you’ve been there long enough. Is the food ok? Yes. Is it extraordinary? No, and being there was like being in a skit where the staff is acting like the place is a very big deal and you should be grateful to be allowed to dine there. For slightly above mediocre food.
Been multiple times and I’m convinced they don’t want customers. No reservations, they stop serving at 9pm but they’re open until 10 and there’s nothing on the website about that. Very disappointing.
Authentic Thai flavors shine at this gem! The spice levels are spot-on, delivering the perfect kick. Green curry, laab moo, and papaya salad dazzled my taste buds. Can't wait to return for another flavorful experience!
BODHI: Where Flavor Reigns Supreme – A Culinary Chokehold!
BODHI has an undeniable chokehold on my taste buds, and I'm not being dramatic – the flavor, quality, and service are genuinely unmatched. Every item on their menu is a culinary masterpiece; I've yet to find anything I don't absolutely love. We often find ourselves getting multiple favorites because, let's be honest, everything is just that good.
Whether for takeout or the occasional visit, BODHI consistently delivers excellence. The moody and aesthetic vibe adds to the overall experience, and their service is unbelievably fast – a testament to the tight ship they run. Every interaction has been nothing short of phenomenal, making BODHI my forever favorite for Thai food in Indy. Don't walk, run to experience this culinary delight!
Bodhi never disappoints. I recommend their drunken noodles!
Excelente comida, servicio y ambiente 👌👌
Now that it’s getting more popular, it’s a long wait even for the bar. 100% worth the wait.
The wait is ridiculous. Food is great. The best staff
I haven't felt more comfortable at a bar/restaurant ever.
I’ve been wanting to try Bodhi for a long time, and FINALLY got the chance to do so during my most recent visit to Indianapolis. We arrived at 5 PM, the moment it opened, and were seated after waiting in a short line.
The food was excellent, cocktails delicious and creative, and atmosphere was very fun. While it’s not your typical Thai restaurant, Bodhi is nevertheless a fantastic dining experience. Come to Bodhi with an empty stomach, as the portion sizes are HUGE!
A couple of tips: parking is scarce on Bodhi’s lot, so be prepared to park on nearby Mass Ave. The restaurant is small and very popular, so it helps to get there and wait in line before it opens, especially on weekends. Otherwise, you may get stuck with long waits.
Very Vibrant and bubbly place. Nice food options. Good for vegans. Have to be a bit easy on spice level. I went with medium spice but it was very hot.
Easily the BEST Food in Indy. Highly Reccomend the Drunken Noodles. Trying the Curry Next Time as Gueats near us Had it and Looked and Smelled Delicious.
The food here is amazing. The service is even better! I love coming here for a fun girls night out! It's a little difficult to find at first since it's in the back corner.
Great indoor seating area and patio. Both make for lovely date spots!
The drinks are on point, and the food is some of the best I've tried in Indy. I particularly enjoyed the Panang curry w/ tofu and the Thai tea w/ oat milk (sadly neither pictured but they were a takeout order).
Vegetarian and vegan options are marked clearly on the menu, and if you have questions, the servers are very knowledgeable.
They are a 21+ establishment so be prepared to show your ID and leave the kids at home.
Food was delicious and service was prompt! They even made me a non alcoholic drink that was perfect~
I’ve been dying to try BODHI ever since it opened!
Food: TBH, thought it was expensive but feel like you’re really paying for the vibes and drinks. It was good but I think you could easily get good Thai from down the street. I love spicy foods but it was a little spicy for me! So I recommend going mild if it’s your first time trying. Portions were HUGE though. My husband and I had left over for lunch and dinner for the following evening.
Drinks: So good and so fun! I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a few drinks. They were expensive $10-15/drink BUT I could never recreate these at home so highly recommend if you’re wanting a fun night and okay with splurging , you’ve gotta try them!
Service: Place was busy and we weren’t actually planning to dine there but we were already dressed up from a prior event that evening and took our opportunity to try BODHI so we didn’t have a reservation. They were able to take us within 10 mins and we got to enjoy the patio at night. Service was consistent.
Vibe: OMG this place is a must to try at least once or bring out of town guests. Patio would definitely be fun during the day and was a cute relaxing date night with my husband or would be an awesome girls night. The inside was warm and inviting. If we go back, I think I’d want to dine inside for the experience. We don’t have many cute places like this for dinner in Indy.
I have been here approx 15 times with different groups of people. This place does not disappoint. Best Thai restaurant in Indiana.
The patio and cocktails were next level. The food was satisfactory.
