They made us wait another 20 minutes to prepare our food. After all that waiting, fried rice was prepared with eggs even though I called specifically and asked to ensure that there is no egg in fried rice. So basically neither they listened to what I said over phone nor they paid attention to the online order. I am disappointed and will think twice before ordering next time. Still giving 3 stars because we have enjoyed their food in the past but this last order was not acceptable.

We ordered shrimp tempura. The order had two shrimps and the rest of the plate was filled with vegetables like sweet potato tempura. That is a dishonest tactic.
Then we ordered seafood which was made with some brown sauce, tasted awful.The fried rice was not even seasoned with salt.

We ordered fresh spring rolls, red curry, and basil chicken which was all delicious and we recommend. This is one of the better red curries I’ve had at a Thai restaurant. Good amount of spice and flavor rounded out by coconut cream. We’ve never had basil chicken with green beans but it was very good! Sauce was soy sauce based. Sorry about the picture of the spring rolls, didn’t get a chance to take a picture until they were half way gone lol. They were a great portion for the price. Not like the spring rolls from noodles in the pot in Lincoln park/wicker which are miniature in size compared to these. Restaurant is byob and doesn’t have a cork charge. Enjoy your dinner 😁

Absolutely disgusted. I ordered ginger chicken and found fungus on the inside of my bell pepper piece. This goes to show the cleanliness of this restaurant. I wonder how many other dishes they've had rotten vegetables in. See picture attached

Food is A-Okay. Whether you're looking for something quick and to-go or dine in and enjoy, Mai Thai got you covered. Parking lot is big, so no issues finding parking. It is BYOB if you feel like having a nice adult beverage to enjoy with some Thai flavors and there's a grocery around the corner in the same plaza which makes it convenient to pick up. Ambiance is casual and service is quick. While we've already dined in once and grabbed to-go from here within the last month can't say I've found a go to dish here. The Tom Kha soup, Basil Chicken, and Pad Si-Ew with Beef were all okay. Not the best Thai food I've ever had but it's not bad. Out of convenience, I do see many more visits/take out orders for those meals when we don't feel like cooking at home.

This happens way too often. You order two curry meals and they only give you one rice. It has to be on purpose. such a rip off. Now we don't have enough rice and will probably end up throwing out the extra meal

Stopped in a 6pm to pick up a order from ubereat. Noticed this isn’t take out only… they had a couple sitting down eating.So, After getting my food, I asked, “can I just eat here” , the server/worker was like , “no we are not like that”…like what does that mean lol they do not close until 8:30pm and literally have people eating here. Not coming here again lol weird

Price is amazing. Food is even better. AND it all comes out within 10-15 min within ordering full entrees. Their lunch special is also $10-$12 per person and includes apps. Literally the perfect restaurant for delicious, consistent, quick and greatly priced food.

the waitress was very rude, I told her about my order mistake and she scolded me and said it was my fault !!! I've come here many times but have never been treated so badly. If she didn't want to accept late guests, she should have told me so she wouldn't be upset with me, because I didn't come to eat for free, I paid . I hope she knows and changes her attitude so the restaurant can be better business!

Their dishes are properly prepared, spiced appropriately and full of flavor! We travel quite a distance to eat here and consider it some of the best Thai food in the area!

The vegetables were fresh and crisp, the meat was tender and flavorful and the dish was spiced for exceptional flavor!

Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. They even serve each meal with a delicious salad and soup. I highly recommend this. It is healthy as well. Try the cucumber salad. Delicious subtle dressing.

Fried rice looked like a pile of mud with the only vegetables being a few slices of bulb onion and green onion. With taste matching the appearance.
Pad Thai, equally unappealing in, both, appearance and taste.
Egg rolls looked nice and were crispy on the outside but a sad, mushy cabbage glob on the inside.
We also had Thai and green teas. Green tea was lovely.
We planned to have sticky rice for dessert but decided against it as to spare adding to this gastronomical disappointment.

Mai Thai is amazing for people with food restrictions to eat at! I am a vegetarian who can't eat gluten, onion, or egg, and I walked out of there FULL! The food was delicious and they take out any ingredients you cannot tolerate in the noodle and curry dishes. Would definitely recommend.

Service at this place is a 0/5. The server was so rude that our group decided to not tip because she was rude. And she had the audacity to yell at us, "WHY YOU NO TIP??!!"
We just went ahead and marked the tip space with a strike and told her it is because of this same attitude and treatment she gave our group that we did not tip. Food is basic and cheap Thai food, nothing special. First time here, we will NOT return.

It's not the same place that it used to be. Is my second time they give me, not cooked food that makes me sick. Today, i order vegetable eggroll and crabragon. And again, food was not fully cooked, and it was not edible. I know for sure I will never gonna go there again.... im just disappointed. 🫤

If I could give zero stars, I would. The Pad Thai was not good. The taste was not the right seasoning for Pad Thai and the noodles were way over cooked....total mush noodles. This is one of my favorite dishes so I'm very familiar with the correct way it should taste. My husband ordered the Pad See Ew and I'm sad to say it tasted like dog food. I didn't finish my entree.

The one good thing was their appetizers. They had this amazing broth that we really enjoyed and got us excited about what our entrees would be like if they served this amazing broth. However, as it turned out the appetizer was the only thing that I could eat. I would recommend to save your money, or go to Noodles & Co or Panda Express where you will get a more appetizing meal for your money. This was the first and last time I will go to Mai Thai Restaurant.

The place was clean and the waitstaff was descent but the food left a lot to be desired. My friend had sweet and sour and I had cashew chicken. The tasted almost exactly the same. The egg rolls had little to no flavor. Very disappointing.

Rudest staff imaginable plus mediocre food. We got there Saturday night at 8pm since they close at 930 according to the sign outside. From the minute we sat down, the waitress kept warning us that the kitchen was about to close (even though restaurant would be open for 90 more minutes) and hurried us through every stage of meal and never offered to refill waters. Then at 9 waitress said "we are closed now" and shooed us out even though closing time was actually 930. They should just make close 9pm moving forward. Also, food was just ok, nothing really stood out. Never going back here.

I had the red curry with pork. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service is great. They have a lot of takeout, and always tables. The food came out very hot and flavorful. We had the shumai. The sauce was to die for. They were light and flavorable. I have been there several times and didn't have a bad meal.

The food in this restaurant "IS" substandard, awful!!! Restaurants vary in their cooking style Thai is my favorite Asian food but my disappointment in the basil/pork fried rice is the worse I've eaten anywhere. I'll never eat in that establishment again. Then the attitude of the server sucked!

Went for lunch. Middle aged waitress fawned on my husband. He had papaya salad. I had pad Thai. Husband had half my pad Thai and the soup that came with it. Went to pay at register and the waitress told my husband. “ good u eat that, you not get fat” looking at me. Pathetic Biatch

SO YUMMY. The panang curry is superior here. Pad Thai is delicious too. It was very empty but many people came in to pick up takeout. Thailand is one of my favorite countries i visited. And spend 20 days traveling from Bangkok to chua chin and more. It doesn't matter its poor or rich people i met, they all smiling with an eyes. Abouts food i would say it was just ok, but by my friends didn't like. Maybe was just bad choice. Its not the worst. The worst is stuff working over there. Talking so loud , u feel uncomfortable , never seen smile in their face always mean and rude. I had experience today picking food and thought jeez that's not what i saw in Thailand its diferent people. My thoughts was just stop ignoring its uber, or online orders. At least smile and tell how long is wait. Dont judge people. That was so mean

I love this place! A few years ago, my husband and I traveled to Thailand and ate the best food of our lives. Coming to Mai Thai (even for takeout) is the closest we can get to being back in Thailand. The food is so fresh, flavorful, delicious, and made with love. Everything is cooked to perfection; nothing is mushy. Everything is crispy and just perfect in every way. Last night we ordered tons of noodle dishes, vegetarian options, curries, soups, spring rolls... everything was spot on. I wish we lived closer so we could order Mai Thai every week. The portions are very generous. I highly recommend the Panang curry; we love it with the crispy wide noodles.

Rice was probably 3 days old. Reheated with some grease.Never coming back.

I like this Thai restaurant. It is the furthest restaurant from work that I regularly go to because the food is good and reasonably priced. So, I usually call in my orders to save time. I have dined in and the atmosphere is nice and quiet. The fish tanks are nice to watch. I can see this place as a date night place especially with the ice cream shop next door.

Like eating here when I'm in town. Great food and love their Thai tea. Great wait staff.

My America friend loves this restaurant. I convinced her to go to my fav Thai restaurant in lombard but she said she cannot take the real authentic Thai spicy so we ended up go to this one. It was Saturday night around 6-7pm. Only one waitress was working. It was pity! We waited for like 15mins and agreed to leave. What a shame!

It saddens me to have to write this review because they some of the best spicy Thai basil around. However, after my last experience, I will never patronize this place again. I ordered two dishes, one was for my daughter with a peanut allergy, so I made sure to ask for no peanuts, actually told her three times. Get home and there are peanuts all over her dish. I call and politely tell them I just picked up an order and there's peants on it. All I wanted was an , "omg I'm so sorry". Wasn't even looking for a new dish. But instead the lady proceeds to tell me repeatedly that I never told her no peanuts...lol, I have to laugh... And then puts another lady on the phone, who I thought would be the sense in our conversation, who proceeds to repeat what this other lady is saying..."she said you didn't say that". I thanked them, said goodbye and hung up. No sense in talking to them. So much for customer service.
