I have always loved this place since the 90s. Yes, I wish they still had the pies/desserts from back then (who wouldn't love homemade white chocolate macadamia nut pie?!), but each of the entrees is how I remember them, and the egg rolls/peanut sauce is unmatched. I would recommend this place to ANYONE!

The food was amazing! The Duck Curry was rich and smooth and spicy, the rice was perfect and the shrimp noodles were awesome. They mostly do delivery so the dining area is open most nights. :)

I had the pad thai with chicken, medium spice level, which was great! We also ordered the chicken stir fry chili paste and the fresh thai spring rolls. 10/10. Food came to the table in less than 10 minutes.

The workers here have a huge attitude and make it clear to the customer and everyone else around they do not want to be working here

Excellent Thai restaurant in Springfield but not great atmosphere

The waitress was extremely helpful in choosing the right "heat" level to ensure a great experience. The food tasted wonderful. My only concerns came as we were leaving. I happen to look up and see the air vents above our tables were completely packed with black filth. They desperately need cleaned. I wish I had taken a picture. However, we had already risen from our table and leaving. They are over the first set of tables as one walks in. Had I seen them upon arrival, we would not have stayed. I'm a firm believer in the saying " If that is what you CAN see as a customer... imagined what you CAN'T see in the back " .

Went here for lunch while I was in town. Wanted some Pho and Larb, which I got and was good... But saw garlic salmon and couldn't pass that up. Boy was I glad I didn't -crispy fried outside and tasted magnificent! I'll be back the next time I'm in the area.

Quick and inexpensive

I am OBSESSED with magic kitchen lol … my whole family is!!!! Literally we spend everyone’s birthday or special occasion at one of their locations! I’m a picky eater and I even found two things I love and their mini egg rolls and peanut sauce are the best around! My brothers usually smash 4-7 orders lol 😂

Went for lunch. Ordered Pad Thai chicken medium spicy and hot tea. Hot tea was served 1 cup with tea bag in it. Food was ho-hum ok. Serving was small/medium portion I would call mediocre. Not much chicken in dish. Pricing was suppose to be $11.50 for Pad Thai and $3.50 for hot tea. Waitress came to table 2 times, once to order once on checkup and drop check. Was not expecting hot tea to be $3.50 for small coffee cup. Usually it’s a pot of tea. Meal was $16.50 approximations and with tip $20 for lunch. Disappointing for flavor, portion, value and overall satisfaction. You’re not missing much here.

Walked in and sat down for dine-in. No one else was in the restaurant and the lady at the hostess desk completely ignored us and started to take a break and eat in our view. We waited 10 min for someone to wait on us while the hostess continued to snack and ignore us. Won't be coming here again. Good riddance.

One of the few places I'd miss if I moved out of Springfield. I always get the Sweet and Sour Chicken medium +. Tons of flavor. Perfect. We also get the crab rangoon with peanut sauce.

Everytime I call for carryout order they never answer phone; just called for order at 6:50pm and got voice-mail saying mailbox is full. Today is Thursday; so don`t understand why they would close early AGAIN! Oh well I guess I give up.

Great place, only thing is that they do not take credit or debit.

Magic Kitchen is THE best restaurant in Springfield, hands down. The food is always prepared quickly and everything tastes extremely fresh. I have NEVER had a bad meal here and I’ve probably eaten at both locations well over a hundred times.

Cannot recommend this restaurant enough- you HAVE to eat here.

The sauce for the soft spring rolls was very good. It was citrus peanut sauce instead of creamy peanut sauce. I had Phad kee mow with shrimp medium spice. Perfect amount of heat. No alcohol. They do a brisk take out business. Would go here again.

Best Thai in town

I've been a fan of Magic Kitchen (Peoria Rd. And Lewis St.) since the 90's. Chicken pad see ew medium, bume noodle dry medium, egg rolls. That's all I ever order. Myopic? Sure, but it's consistently terrific. I moved to Florida for 5 years, and every visit back to Springfield, I would bring back $50 worth of frozen egg rolls. They are simply the best, along with the peanut sauce, of which is amazing. I have tried Thai at several locations in Florida, and it wasn't even close. Springfieldians have it made! I live in Alton now but I still get Magic Kitchen when working in Spfld:)

Chicken Pad Thai…. It isn’t the fancier looking but it is full of flavor! The spice levels vary by the kitchen staff. I normally get extra spicy but on occasion it gets extra extra spicy.

Other can’t miss items are the Red Curry Beef (no coconut milk), chili paste beef/chicken, Bume Noodle Soup or Dry.

Great pad Thai. Not super expensive. I think that the levels of spiciness are accurate. I usually add some extra lime juice to mine and then it’s perfect

I ordered a beef dry noodle but it ended up came with soup. The broth was basically water and soy sauce which is terrible. And the Angel wings… literally tasteless with no seasoning at all…

Really great food and staff. The egg rolls are amazing especially with the peanut sauce they come with. Tried several entrees and they were all delicious and they aren't kidding around with spice level, you order hot and you actually get it hot. Really appreciate that about them.

Great food and in great time to prepare. Inside dining is clean, albeit a little small in a somewhat frequented location by locals. 4/5 due to some inconsistencies in "flavoring" meals (sometimes too dry, sometimes significantly spicier than it should be).

Had not ate here in ten years, and my how this place has gone down in quality. Went to the location off of Jefferson and ordered Garlic Pork, Pad Thai and two garlic beef dishes. The food was bland city. Place used to be high on my list whenever visiting Springfield, hopefully they make some major changes. Will probably try again and give them one more chance

We eat in the restaurant periodically, but today we ordered carry-out and drove home (1hr) and the food tasted just as if we ate it at the restaurant!!! I ordered lemongrass soup (which is only good piping hot and it was packaged so well that it was still hot to where I had to blow on it to cool) and spring rolls (best enjoyed cold-traveled very well)... My husband enjoyed basil chicken-mild +, which was prepared exactly as he had special ordered...
It is hard to get orders correct in today's food World, hot, and food that travels well...
