We are a family owned restaurant, making homemade dishes between Lao dishes and Thai dishes.
Absolutely loved this little gem! My sister and I stopped by for a weekday lunch, kind of on a whim since it’s close to her work. Small spot, seemed like it was run by just two people, but they really put their heart into it.
We ordered the red curry with rice and spring rolls, plus the Pad Thai noodles with tofu. Everything was freshly cooked, and you could tell the chef took his time to make sure it was just right. The food came out piping hot, which was perfect on what felt like the coldest day in Chicago. The flavors were incredible—authentic, comforting, and exactly what we were craving.
I’d 100% come back next time I’m in the area. It’s a cozy little place with great food and genuine care. Highly recommend!
This place has been on and off for the past couple of years. The food we had recently was decent. Noodle soup is always great and pad Thai was better that day although they were skimpy with protein portions.
I wish the place was a bit warmer and cleaner especially their restrooms. They can also make the place a little more inviting. The server was friendly but they are usually hiding at the back so no one welcomes a customer when they come in.
Had the crab Rangoon, lao sausages, lao papaya salad, and steak pad thai.
The crab Rangoon was surprisingly good and was made fresh. Amazing crunch
The lao sausages are fantastic. Had a great lemongrass flavor and delicious meat chunks. If you have never had lao sausages before, this place is worth coming out and trying for that.
The lao papaya salad slaps. However, I highly suggest getting a low heat for the papaya salad. My husband and I have a high heat tolerance but even the medium heat hurt so good. Also worth it to come out for this.
The pad thai was really flavorful. Didn't seem like a large portion of meat however.
We order from here as we have always enjoyed the food but, this time it was awful. The chicken satay was overdone and looked and tasted like it had been sitting around rubbery and chewy. Totally inedible. The fried rice was soggy and rice was mushy. The crab Rangoon was also soggy and tasteless. The only thing edible was the pad Thai. Sorry but, this is not a cheap place and may reconsider ordering again. It’s always been good but, this time very disappointing.
This is one special place here! Some of the best Lao & Thai food in Illinois maybe even the whole Midwest! My girlfriend brought me here a few weeks ago and as soon as I took the first bite I was hooked! Everything is delicious and freshly prepared. My favorite so far is the Kau Mee & those super crispy Chicken Wings. I can’t wait to come back!
Delicious food and friendly servers! I ordered the traditional pho, and my daughters ordered the basil chicken with rice and egg and chicken nuggets and fries. The food presentation was good if compared to gourmet restaurants, but it was great for a family restaurant. The food tasted perfect! My pho tasted authentic! It reminded me of my Mom's cooking. By the way, I cook Asian food a lot, and I know their food were prepared using fresh ingredients. I could taste the difference. 😋 I apologize for the photos, we already started eating before I took the photos, so their food presentation was not really captured.

I had a take out order. The food was very good and plentiful. The price was average for nowadays. I will be going again sometime soon.
Everything I've had so far tastes great. Been coming at least twice a month since moving to the St Charles area last in 2024. If I absolutely had to make a complaint? Wait time for food can be a little slow at times.

Our food was carry out, so not sure how the place is. I loved the Nam khao, can’t wait to eat it again. Got leave 5 spicy and oh it was spicy lol.
Awesome food and awesome staff

Service was great! Everyone was so nice, the hospitality was amazing! Food came out fairly quick too!! Food 10/10! I was so excited to eat, I forgot to take pictures haha! Definitely coming back here!!
One of the best Thai places I’ve tried 😋
Great place! Food was amazing!!!!
Can’t wait to come back!
Very tasty food. Good quantity and great quality. Love their curry dishes.
I’ve been here a few times already and it has been good each time. The food is always fresh and delicious. I get the pad see ew which is a 10/10 and their Thai tea is one of the best.
Went there for the first time yesterday. Excellent and will return.
Phenomenal food!! I dream about their shrimp spring rolls, Lao sausages, and Pad Kao Pao. The quality of their food is exceptional and always consistent. The shrimp spring rolls are very well assembled with large, fresh shrimp and the sausages have a crispy exterior and soft inside with so much flavor. We don't get take out often, but Lao and Thai Spicy Noodle has become a monthly (at least) staple in our household.

Food awesome and service excellent. Hands down to them
The food is not as good as it was. I used to order every month. They must have gotten a new chef because everything I get tastes different now.
Food can be hit or miss but when it's good, it's really good. Same with the service.
Ordered out and it was DELICIOUS!
Very good food and the best in this area
Food was Good, full of customers, flavor was Good….Service was Great!
Thank You
I love this place, so does my wife. We eat in on occasion but we mostly do takeout. The food is fantastic. All the people that work here are wonderful, super knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We get the same things mostly, pad kee mao and we’ll ask them to crisp up the noodles. I’m getting hungry just talking about it! They adjust spicy to taste (I’m a zero, she’s an 8) and portions are generous. I’ll occasionally switch to a green curry and we’ll sometimes get egg rolls; all really delicious. We’ve seen maybe three or four different owners open restaurants in that spot. The current owners and staff are our hands down favorites, lovely people and amazing food.
This place is great.
We regularly order food from Lao via UberEats and have enjoyed the variety of dishes that are flavored well. Our last 2 orders (including Jan 2024) of the curry dishes were mostly sauce and very little veggies & chicken. Hopefully they will fix the problem soon.
Very friendly staff and very good food!
Waiter was attentive and friendly. Food was good, went there for lunch specials and for the price it was worth it. The spice was right and you can request the level of spice.
This place is s neighborhood gem. They use authentic herbs and sauces and match the spice level to your request. Never had a bad meal here. Still my favorite after trying other similar restaurants in the area. Can't be beat!
When the restaurant open a few years ago they really tried and the food was amazing! I went back after a year and the flavors weren’t there. I ordered a pho and I had to try everything they had in there to flavor it up. I asked for some sugar and was given salt, needles to say the pho was ruined. They don’t turn the heater on much so it’s always freezing in there. I wish they would go back to when it was a family atmosphere and they prepared everything on the spot. I ordered some spring rolls and they were pre made so the wrapping was very stale. I understand everything went up in price but come on, they increased the prices and made the portion sizes way smaller, I don’t care to pay more but keep the portions the same, especially when taking out.
friendly andgood serviceขอบคุณ
Me and husband like the foods here. The food taste like home
Best place to have pho for winter
The food was great and the staff was friendly, I love the Thai tea! :)
So, we went here to purchase for pick up. Go to the back order window of the restaurant, don't stand at the front area like we did. They have a fantastic menu and we tried something new, Nam Nuong Platter...it is a traditional rice or lettuce wrap platter...what fun and so fresh! We ordered Pad Woon Sen with beef and one with Pork...beef was a spice 5 and pork was a 7 spice and it was pretty hot. Everyone agreed that the favorite was the Panang Curry with chicken. So flavorful. We also had potsticker and Cucumber Salads. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious!
Sorry. Nice people, but the place felt as if it had no air conditioning. Not a nice atmosphere. You sit in the booth and the cushion no longer had much padding. Ouch! The pork skewers were hard as a rock. Completely inedible. The cashew chicken was not particularly tasty and the chicken seemed cheap and stringy. Very few cashews. I'd have let this go, but I frequent Thai restaurants and this uncomfortable and dingy hole in the wall was at least as expensive if not more so than the adorable, great tasting places closer to Chicago. Terribly disappointing! My partner and I were really turned off. Very sweet server, though.
When it comes to Thai food, this is my go-to place for dining with my family.
Amazing!!! Went to Thailand last year and this is by far the closest thing I have found to authentic tasting Thai food. Highly recommend the Panang curry!
The food was great, the waitress very nice.
Favorite Lao restaurant! Love their nam khao, beef jerky, sticky rice, cucumber papaya salad, pork laab
One of my favorite Thai food places. Nice variety of tasty dishes
Fresh ingredients, great soup, sauces, spice levels, and appetizers.
The pad see ew noodles could be better, maybe we got them on an off day but they were a bit mushy and lacking the char taste from stir fry.
Will try this place again.
Delicious food and friendly servers! I ordered the traditional pho, and my daughters ordered the basil chicken with rice and egg and chicken nuggets and fries. So good and authentic. So much flavor. Anything you get will be amazing.
Exceptional food. very flavorful. Fast. Affordable. Good service. I will be coming back often.
Absolutely recommend especially if you like spicy food.
We got take out here for the first time tonight. Everything was good, but one of the Lao specialties was special and pushed the rating to 5 stars. We will be back.
Great food, awesome flavors! One of my"go to"s. The green curry is especially amazing.
The food here is amazing and the servers are so kind! I highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Lao and Thai cuisine then this is the place to go to. I would 11/10 bring family and friends here.
Came here for the lao sausage, and the kid workin the afternoon brought me pad krapow.. it was ok but its not what i drove 45 mins for. I asked him in thai and pointed to the picture/number. Later he tells me he didnt understand thai. Well he should maybe tell people that speak to him that he doesnt understand and speak englishnonly to him.
The absolute best papaya salad I’ve ever had !!! Everything was so fresh and the flavor is so delicious. Waitstaff knew the dishes very well and the food is very authentic. Definitely a new favorite for our family!!!
I’m currently eating here as I post this. At the risk of coming up hyperbolic… the Mee Kua Ladna Combo is probably one of the top 10 things I’ve ever eaten in my life. Absolutely amazing. You can taste how fresh the vegetables are and all the meat is cooked expertly. Perfection!
Best Thai food in the west suburbs. Every dish I've tried so far is amazing. They are refreshing, while loaded with authentic seasonings and fresh herbs. Unlike typical Asian restaurant food, they don't have that greasy texture/taste at all. I feel satisfied and healthy after eating a meal from here.
Just moved to South Elgin from Batavia and have been to all the best Thai places in Chicago and more I’m confident. I lived in Hawaii along many Asians for over 10 years so feel I know what’s up. Tried this randomly by searching online and went for it. Was glad to see lot of local Asians eating there that’s always a good sign. Hearing someone order papaya salad was also a good sign. It’s a Thai staple and many places that claim to be Thai don’t offer that dish and very lame to me at least.
I ordered pad se ew with tofu medium spicy which is my test to see since have eaten this dish all over the world in different Thai restaurants literally. I ordered a papaya salad of course Thai style not Lao style which is morea fishy…they asked how hot I wanted on scale of 1-10. I said 5 and normally can easily handle medium spicy. This was very spicy really so would order a 3 next time. It was really good though and suffered through it. 😰😰😰😜 Pad Se Ew was with really nice too a bit oily and not the best I’ve eaten, but good. Tofu was a bit too fried and hard for my liking and just not a fried tofu fan, but good overall. I had the Pad Thai as well and not bad…not my favorite place for that one for sure so I would avoid it there personally and opt for something else. Their Pad Se Ew 100% more tasty. It was a bit dry and again fried tofu so just not a fan. Worth going for sure very authentic and if you want spicy auntie cooking definitely won’t hold back the heat! 🔥🔥 🔥 Cucumber salad was more lettuce than cucumber so would a sour that personally too. Had much better personally at other Thai restaurants, but also appreciate the differences too. Tom Yum soup super yummy! 🍜
Very friendly staff too and great service which means more than anything usually for me. I always say I would rather go somewhere with amazing kind service and decent food over horrible service and amazing food.
We have ordered takeout from this place twice now. The food is fantastic! We now get a weekly craving for it and will be spreading the word on their deliciousness.
Hands down the BEST Tom Yum soup ever. I get two orders every time because I just can't get enough!
Overpriced. I ordered the fried rice. They charged me $4 extra for shrimp, and I only got 3 pieces of shrimp (they were not even jumbo shrimp) so that means I paid over a dollar per shrimp. Not to mention there was barely any chicken either, but there was an insane amount of peas/carrots. Overpriced but they cheap you out on the portions. This is my second time eating here, the only reason I gave 2 stars is because the taste is decent, but nothing special.
Top quality Thai food. Their service and quality is consistent.
Delicious food and nice service
Food is great here. My first time, perfect amount of spice, not salty and not sweet, just perfect!
Best tom yum pho!!
I tried this family owned restaurant for the first time and it was delicious. Their crag Rangoon was tasty and the panang curry with noodles was so good, you can taste the refreshing taste of lemongrass. Quality food for good prices. Worth the drive.
Some of the best pho I’ve had in the area. Great service too!
The best spicy fried rice I have had.
Great food definitely worth of drive from Schaumburg!! Everything there are authentic comparing to another Thai restaurant in the suburbs
Excellent
Best hidden secret! Food is fantastic! Always fresh and delicious!
Great service. Waitress was very informative. We ordered a lot of food and it came out pretty quick. Food tasted fantastic. Pad Kra Pow, Red curry, Boat Noodles, and Papaya salad were all bomb! Loved this place.
We ordered the drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and pad voon sen. They were all good, but it was nothing miraculous for my palette. I think they could've used some added spice in their dishes.
I picked up my order and it was quite busy when I arrived. Fortunately, despite the crowd, they still offered good service. I waited for my order, but 2 different people asked if I had been helped and when to check on the status of my order.
Would come back.
I’m Laos and this is the best place for authentic Lao food in IL!
Consistently delicious! Great amount of food for the price—I love the Tom Yum soup, red curry, and seafood pho!
The best Thai food around 🥰so fresh and delicious! My favorite is the chicken Tum Yum soup , the Pad Thai and the Shrimp spring rolls. Staff is friendly and very helpful
This place is phenomenal. My husband and I drove half an hour to eat here, being originally from LA it’s been hard to find an A U T H E N T I C boat noodles. Yes, with the blood mixed in with broth and all. Every single time I ordered a “boat noodle” anywhere else, they would bring out a pho… I’m Vietnamese and I love pho- but not when I’m looking for a boat noodle!!!! Their pad thai distinctively tastes like tamarind (authentic way), and is sooo good. I tried Lao sausage for the first time today too, so awesome! It’s been hard to find anywhere near us that is so good, but this was SO WORTH the drive. If you are looking for Americanized Thai/Lao food- look elsewhere, this is 100000% a local spot and is fantastic due to their bold flavors. The duo that helped us out today was awesome as well it’s been so hard for my husband and I to explore around Illinois, and find nice people to talk to as well. Whoever helped us today, thank you for your kindness. I’m looking forward to the next time we drive out here to eat good food, with good company! :)
So impressed with this small biz. Really enjoyed our lunch. Veggie Green Curry, Fried Rice and Beef Pad See Ewe...leftovers for 2 more meals!!!
This was a great place to celebrate my birthday. Tried Lao dishes for the first time and was really glad I had. They were very tasty!! My husband said the Thai green curry was the best he has had in a while. Very friendly service from this family owned restaurant. We will definitely be back again.
Went for the first time here, the food was bomb, meaning Great.lao sausage n sticky Rice Great, shrimp spring rolls oooff,I got a double order for when I got home.totally will go back. ....
I don't think this place gets enough attention. I'm surprised it isn't crowded 24/7, honestly. The moment you open the door and walk in, you are instantly 102% guaranteed to not only feel like you're at home, but even as if this is your real home.
The food punches you in the face with flavor harder than an angry drunken dad. No matter how full you feel, you WILL keep eating more and more; it's almost hypnotic. Most importantly, everyone's friendly. Plus, the music's calming.
Best Lao and Thai restaurant in Illinois! Every dish is fantastic and tasty. The young lady who runs the restaurant is also very sweet and considerate. Will recommend this place to everyone I know.
After ordering our dinner for delivery, there were three different delays with the delivery service the restaurant contracts with. It initially confirmed after we ordered our dinner that it would be to our home in 35 to 40 minutes. After I viewed the third delay which would have guaranteed our food would be at least 90 minutes late, I called the restaurant to complain and told them that we are not willing to wait for the driver, Who was still 20 minutes away from the restaurant, to pick up and deliver our food unless it was fresh as the Manager told me the food had been prepared in containers and waiting for the driver for over 30 minutes already. I explained to them that I was not willing to wait 90 minutes past the time we expected the food to be here as the food would have been sitting in containers at the restaurant for well over an hour before the driver even picked the food up to start the delivery. He told me that it was my problem and he was not going to cancel the order or make fresh food for us and he said “I’m not going to just throw the food out the window and take a loss this is your problem.” After I told him that that was completely unprofessional and unfair, he got more aggressive with me and took a very nasty tone. The level of incompetency and horrible customer service is absurd. We heard that the food was very mediocre to begin with but they are local so we ordered in a pinch. The conversation escalated and he swore at me a few times. I would absolutely not go to this restaurant or order from them ever. I would give them -2 stars if I could. The ironic thing is, it probably cost them less than $10 to make our dinner which retails did over $60. He was so rude, ignorant and cheap but I was able to cancel through Uber eats and get a full refund and this resulted in him actually having to throw the food out the window and taking the loss. Sweet satisfaction in that. What a miserable manager and a miserable place. Don’t ever eat or order from this restaurant!!!
Really good food and great service
Will come back again. Food was great
good
I usually drive over to Thai town in South Elgin for my Thai food. But tonight my daughter and I wanted to stay closer to the house for carry out so we decided to give this restaurant a try since it has decent reviews and 4.5 stars. We ordered egg rolls, pad Thai, Panang and pad see ew. The Penang and eggrolls were quite good. However the pad Thai tofu and pad see ew beef were inedible. They were flavorless noodle dishes that were truly inedible… beware, there are no refunds.
Felt disappointed this time. We decided to dine in like we always do and on this occasion we saw that guests arriving were being served. And our order wasn’t ready. This has never happened before. Eventually I had to take my food to-go since we were on time constraint.
Try sesame lao jerky ;)
The food was delicious and seasoned perfectly. Their staff was also very friendly and attentive.
Food is very fresh and delicious, The shrimp spring rolls are tasty.
messed up half of the to go order, when asked to have the right items to be delivered to the office due to a tight work schedule and fixed lunch brakes i was refused, result hungry and angry costumer who will never come back, also manager rude guy!!! not good for business
They can make a number of dishes vegan and they know to use a different sauce than oyster and fish sauces. The Drunken Noodles were great, papaya salad was fresh with very colorful veggies. Great service also.
Great Food! Tried Lao Jerky for the first time, and was delicious! Definitely going back.
Seems like sometimes they forget to add sauce to the Pad See Ew? Stopped ordering from here because of this, tried again and same problem. Not worth trying again due to the inconsistencies.
Food is always delicious! Yum!! Fresh and authentic. Usually we do takeout. For dine in, service is a little slow, and the place is freezing (bring a sweater). I didn't visit the restroom, but heard it was clean (but out of papertowels).
The best food I've had in a while! Our server was so sweet and attentive and the food was delicious and was worth the price! They can make anything vegetarian and are helpful navigating their menu.. Definitely coming back!
Authentic Laotian food! Very flavorful and delicious 🤤
Love it here, spicy basil fried rice with jalapeno's. Ginger Chicken, pad tai.
Great food! Great service! All the wait staff were very helpful and patient, even with my child who is always indecisive and takes 15 minutes to order! This was the first time my kids had Thai and they helped them understand the menu, asked what they liked and made good suggestions. The food was delicious. We had 2 families, 10 people in our party and everyone thought the food tasted very good, even my picky eaters! Definitely coming back!
Our server was wonderful and attentive. I am glad they are opened for dine-in again. We tried the pho for the first time there, and it was good. We usually get pad Thai and other various dishes. Papaya salad is always a win, we have to figure out the best option for spicy for us. We usually do a level 4, but that so spicy still. But it’s so good with the cabbage and pork rinds.
Hard to find Lao food, the Lao sausage was like nothing I have tasted before. The noodles were excellent, the wings were hot and crispy, everything was hot and fresh, the sticky rice cooked to perfection. They were out of the drink I ordered, so they gave us a different beverage to try on the house.
i love this place! the papaya salad is chefs kiss😍 amazing service and lovely restaurant. 11/10 would come back.
One of my favorite places to order a good meal from! Whoever thinks their food has no flavor must have burnt taste buds. HIGHLY recommend if you’re looking for authentic Lao & Thai dishes!!
Food and costumer service are always amazing!
So delicious. Good and fresh. Periodddd 😙
Horrible and overrated...My first time order of panang curry with veggies..they put chicken. I dont eat meat and so it was not a great first impression.
I called them and they argued with me on their chefs could not make a mistake. No refund was offered too. Next time we will give u a free panang curry..that is all was offered.
Other food items..pad thai and curry fried rice were so so..no flavors at all..
Bad experience...
Yummmmmy
Sorry but this is the worst place I ever ate far as Lao food go. Won't go back. I ordered larp (beef salad) it's was terrible. Fry ground beef in oil was what I got. So disappointed.
Authentic Thai, good portion sizes, and they make the curry and papaya salad extra spicy for me, just like I like it :)
Delicious food and good customer service ! Iced coffee was really good !
Just got a house in Elgin after many years in NYC and a few in NJ. I was getting pretty pessimistic about finding really good Thai food locally, but no more...Lao and Thai Spicy Noodle is the real deal!
This is my favorite Thai / Lao restaurant. The food is always delicious, the wait is never long, the staff has always been kind, and everything is reasonably priced. This restaurant is about 20 minutes from my home and I gladly make the drive. On top of being a great place to eat, they also show their support for human rights. I highly highly recommend.
The food tastes much better when you don't have to eat it out of take-out styrofoam containers. Hope that they open for dining in soon.
Love this place and the people running it. Always had a great experience. Food is amazing. Drunken Noodles and Pad Ka Pow and ginger chicken is absolute best.
Loved what I had. Can't wait to go back
5 stars... nuff said. Oh and really god PHO!
The food was awesome. Service alittle slow.
Great delicious, authentic Lao and Thai food. Staff was super friendly and food came very fast!!! Definitely my new favorite restaurant for food I grew up eating!!!
Great food!
What a pleasant surprise to find so close to the house. The curry dish was great and the thai noodles were great. Can't wait to go back and try some more dishes.
The Drunken Noodles were amazing and the service was very good too.
The service and information about culture was great. The food was good for its price and stupendously fair in size. The flavors blended really nicely and the waiter made sure to give great tips on what to try and how to eat it.
Best green curry I've ever had
Chicken noodle soup with rice noodles is AMAZING. Wish I could give the restaurant 15 stars.
Wonderful!
This was my first time trying this type of food and let me say, I LOVED it!!
The staff was so accommodating and helpful. Excellent service!
My mom and I got the Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Tea and we loved it. I’m already craving more of it!
We received the egg roll appetizer with the lunch special and they were amazing! Super crunchy and flavorful, with an amazing sauce that compliments it perfectly.
I tried the Pad Thai and we also got the Nam Khao. We loved both dishes! Soft, crunchy, sweet and flavorful! Everything we tried was so amazing and we will definitely be back! We LOVED it!
My mother is Thai and the pad see ew I had here tasted as good as homemade.
Great food and friendly staff
