I just had the most amazing meal at Thai Garden and I can’t stop thinking about it! I started with the Tom Yum soup, and it was the perfect balance of spicy and sour, just the right kick to get my taste buds going. Then, I moved on to the Penang noodles, which were absolutely incredible. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was so rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. The Pad Thai came next and it’s honestly one of the best I’ve had. The flavors were spot-on, with that tangy, sweet, and savory combo that I love. To top it all off, the spicy fried rice was out of this packed with flavor and the perfect level of spice. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and left me craving more. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Whoever makes the egg rolls has the hands of an angel. Egg rolls are the best, so crispy I could eat 20 of them in one sitting. Curry fried rice with pineapple is also super good, portions are so good. I’ll eat half at night and then half before the gym the next day and the carbs mixed with the amount of protein works wonders. Whoever makes the curry fried rice, give them a kiss for me, same with whoever makes the egg rolls. Thank you
I love this place! The atmosphere is clean and calm. There is a Thai charm and ambience. The people that work here are so super sweet and work hard. The food is excellent. Fair prices. I leave happy every single time. I would highly recommend this cozy restaurant if you are feeling like some Thai cuisine.
We came hungry and ate family style, ordered the Satay Chicken, Crab Rangoon, Cucumber salad, and Chicken Egg Rolls to start; all was delicious and we definitely worked up an appetite! As our main dishes we really enjoyed the Pad Si-ew, Tom Yum vegetable soup (my favorite!), and the Panang curry! The environment is welcoming, nicely decorated, great service, and smiles all around. A yummy dinner before a Friday evening movie night with the family, there’s an AMC right nearby!
Hands down best Thai food we’ve ever had! You cannot pick a bad item on the menu. Everything is phenomenal. We did the Panang Curry that was *chefs kiss*. Perfect spices and spice level. The chicken fried rice was also delicious! My absolute favorite was also the egg rolls. I could have those as my entire meal! The portion sizes are large! We shared each entree and had leftovers.
Note: leftovers heat up very nicely which is always a plus. Nobody wants sucky leftovers!
We ate at the establishment that was clean, the service was amazing and the wine was crisp!
Looking forward to ordering again!
We visited on a Friday evening for dinner during a time when most tables were empty. Service was great but the food was average at best. There are a only a few items on the menu that are well made with good sauces. The best item we tried was the veg egg rolls for the appetizers. To reiterate, service was really good, so I give the waitress a 5/5. However, due to the food quality and taste, I'm downgrading by two stars.
Food was very good. Hostess Priya was very friendly and the food arrived very fast.
This restaurant used to be a regular in our rotation, but moving further away has limited our ability to regularly eat here. Having said that, the food is still excellent. Atmosphere hasn't changed at all. Like many other restaurants, seems they are short staffed which affects their service. We were still quickly attended to after a wait at the hostess stand and our food came out quickly from the kitchen. (Reference - Saturday dinner crowd)
Tasty food, pleasant service, and a relaxing atmosphere
Rice not cooked and basil fried rice is half cooked. Red curry is too sweet.
Authentic Thai Food! ✨
The crab rangoon, being the size of 3 marbles put together, is the worst. For OVER 7 DOLLARS, you get six that amount to the size of 2 decent sized ones at another place. The portion sizing of the Pad Woon Sen is fine. Also, not even giving utensils with a take out order is just the cherry on top of it.
Great service, even better food!
I don't know what everyone is rating this so highly for. Hours on google are still wrong, they close at 9 and not 9:30. They try to get you to order and get out asap if you come in at 8. They tried to upsell every item almost acting like they didn't understand what you were ordering and kept trying to make everything "combo" meats instead of the one meat ordered. Lard nar gravy was odd, thin yellow/whiteish instead of traditional thicker brown. Everything was over seasoned as if to distract from their low quality. Out of 4 different entrées, all of them were disappointing.
Best Thai food in the area , very kind people.
Love to eat there.

Their sign and website claim they are open until 9:30. I walked in at 8:30 and was told "You have 4 minutes to order" by 9pm they had taken down the hours sign and closed down. 2 stars because the food was above average. Change your posted hours to 8:30 if you want to close at 8:30.
WOW- Some of the best thai good I’ve had. Make sure to order the Panang Noodles- you wont regret it!!
Staff was very sweet and provided excellent service! Will definitely be back.
Came here with some friends as we were craving some good Thai food. Looked up some spots and this place looked promising. Service was very good and friendly. We got the Tom yum (my favorite) , garlic beef, chicken masuma, and tofu pad Thai. Good size portions and great taste. I would highly recommend it if you're in the area.
Thai Garden is a big hit with our family! We absolutely love the vibe and food. The spicy fried rice and the panang noodles are a must try! We also love the bite sized crab Rangoon. All 3 are unique dishes that we only have enjoy here. We appreciate the vegetarian options they have as well!
The seating is great for big family gatherings and the service is top notch! We’ve also ordered catering to go for our family parties. They do a great job! Keep it up Thai Garden!
Thai Garden is hands down the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to! From the moment I walked in, I was transported into a serene oasis filled with warm, inviting ambiance and authentic decor. The atmosphere is cozy yet modern, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, family gathering, or even a solo meal.
The authentic Thai cuisine here is simply unbeatable. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece! The Pad Thai was perfectly balanced with sweet, savory, and tangy flavors, while the Green Curry had the perfect blend of creamy coconut milk and bold spices. If you’re a fan of appetizers, the crispy spring rolls and Tom Yum soup are an absolute must-try. And don’t miss their Mango Sticky Rice—the best I’ve ever had! Every bite felt like a culinary journey to Thailand.
The service was flawless. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations tailored to our tastes and dietary preferences. The food was served piping hot and beautifully presented, showing the care and craftsmanship of the chefs.
Another highlight is the value for money. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are authentic—true Thai food lovers will not be disappointed. Plus, their wide variety of vegan and gluten-free options make it accessible to everyone.
Lastly, parking was convenient, and the location is easy to find—definitely a hidden gem in the area!
If you’re searching for “the best Thai food near me,” “authentic Thai restaurant,” or “Thai dinner spots with great ambiance,” Thai Garden should be at the top of your list. I’ll be coming back again and again to try more dishes!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend Thai Garden for anyone craving the perfect blend of delicious food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere!
I've ordered here a bunch and never had issues and was always satisfied.
Good service. Food was alright. I think it just wasn't for me

Most horrible and rude service we've ever had!
Totally sigma
Best curry fried rice outside of Thailand
The food are no good The Mix drink is very bad . This restaurant need to be closed. Wow unbelievable.
Excellent Thai food
Seriously the best pad thai anywhere. Never had a negative experience. Can’t believe the ratings aren’t higher because this place is a GEM. The food is amazing. Cute and comfortable place to dine in, nicely decorated, though not fancy. We only wish they had an Arlington Heights location.
We just find out Tom & Tina retired we have been coming for.25 years hopefully new owner appreciate all the hard work and care that over.the Years the previous owners put in one on the best restaurant of Schaumburg area. Tom and Tina enjoy well deserved retirement and thanks for all those years of home cooking food. AND FRESH FLOWERS ON TABLES ALL THE TIME !!!!
New owners.
Love the chicken satay and crab rangoon. Typically order for take out as the restaurant itself can use some updating.
Most disrespectful place to call a restaurant in the burbs of Chicago. They had the audacity to serve people who got into the restaurant well after my group and when we brought it up to staff they said oh our service is different here. That is laughable! No one apologized or took ownership just downright rude and disrespectful. I will take my money elsewhere.
Hands down best Thai food we’ve ever had! You cannot pick a bad item on the menu. Everything is phenomenal. We did the Panang Curry that was *chefs kiss*. Perfect spices and spice level. Looking forward to ordering again!
I'm from out of state, and I always put in a takeout order each time i visit this area. The food is very good and authentic. Service has always been great.
My go-to dish is always the spicy fried rice. This dish look nothing like your typical fried rice, it looks more like a Pad Kha Pow. Trust me, it's SO good and I have yet to find another Thai restaurant that make their fried rice this good.
We got carry out. The food was delicious and in particular the Grouper was excellent. I recommend Thai Garden!
Amazing Authentic Thai Food! Been coming here for years! Great quality food and amazing service always!
Mango tofu is the best being a vegetarian. My husband isn’t a vegetarian and prefers non-vegetarian dishes, but he loves this dish!
Love their food! Its not spicy unless you ask for spice.
Love their Panang beef. Portions are generous.
I have to give one star off for their policy of adding 18 percent to the bill before you even get it. I dislike this policy.
I’ve been eating at Thai Garden for over 25 years. Hands down, they are my favorite Thai restaurant!!! I have been to other local and national Thai restaurants and I always end up coming back to Thai Garden. I recommend ordering the Basil chicken, crunchy chicken egg rolls, pineapple fried rice, pad si ew noodle dish, shrimp tom yum soup and tufu /vegetable red curry. Order all medium spicy. I’m a want to be chef and you can tell they use the best ingredients. My favorite dish is basil chicken. It is a ground chicken with enough spice and flavor ,but not overwhelming. I have personally tried to replicate the dish at home, but I come a close second. Can’t put my finger on their secret ingredient. When dining in, their staff has always been pleasant and accommodating. We order from them 1-2 times a month. Love the place!!!
Best thai food anywhere!
Excellent Thai food and generous portions. I found the curry to be excellent and the portion was larger than at other Thai restaurants.
So far we've only had carry out and THAI GARDEN has become our favorite local Asian food go-to. We love Thai and they're really delicious. The restaurant is beautiful with so much gorgeous wood work it's quite a treat with a beautiful bar, fountain in entryway, VERY clean and VERY friendly staff. We love it here. Great food and very relaxing.
Amazing food been going here since I was a kid.
This is my favorite restaurant of all time! I always order the Tom Kha with chicken or shrimp and a Thai iced tea. The service is lovely, good for takeout as well, great atmosphere, and overall the best Thai food in the whole chicagoland area in my opinion.
One of the best thai food places around in that area to die for.

Amazing food! Awesome family style if you want to order that way
This has been, hands down, my absolute favorite Thai restaurant and favorite restaurant period for going on 20 years. The food is consistently outstanding. The curries are superb. The service is always friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Our take out was hot and delicious!
This place is fantastic. We order the garlic tofu and Panang noodles every time.
My friends and I have been eating here for years. The food is always delicious, and the staff are so friendly and greet us as if we're old friends.
Me and my husband used to love coming here. The food was always delicious, but we’ve noticed the prices have gone up and food quality has gone down. It’s a shame because we have so many great memories, which is why we now visit once in a while. I hope they get back to what it used to be.
Consistent experience. Every single time we have been there.
$33 for boba crab Rangoon and beef brocolli
A little overpriced and small portions
Wonderful Thai food! We love their spring rolls with their special sauce.
We always order from Thai Garden when we have the urge for great Thai food!
Food was delicious and service also nice.
This place was a mixed bag. The food was delicious, even though I asked for mild spice and got at least medium. Pad Thai was one of the best I’ve had. Service on the other hand was appalling. The lady serve I had could care less I was there. She appeared annoyed when I asked for something. I had to find her to get a box and my check. To her other tables of more than one she smiled and laughed. To me she had no personality. The final issue - who the hell charges 18% gratuity for ALL tables automatically??? I always tip more than 18% when they do their job well, but when you have a server that treats u like garbage why should I be forced to pay that???
Good food, sometimes the wait is a bit long
I ordered online, so I was not able to experience or rate the atmosphere.
Got pad thai and Green Curry. Both were very good. People were very nice. I would definitely eat here again.
Very expensive. Good food
Very overpriced, extra charges that are not on the menu. Had a reservation and made to wait almost half an hour. When it was time to be seated, they asked for our order instead of seating us. We ordered, and our bill was twice what we ordered due to unknown charges. Still have no idea what we paid for.
Great food every time. We go here all the time
My friend and I were pleased to find a quiet restaurant to meet for lunch and catch up. Thai Garden fit the bill. The food was good, and we enjoyed a good time together.
I’ve been going here for Thai food since before I was even born… lovely owners, please try the fried tofu with peanut sauce!
Great food good service
My recent dining experience at Thai Garden was regrettably disappointing, and I feel compelled to share the details to help others make informed decisions.
The server's indifferent attitude was evident when suggesting the use of the hot sauce left in the jar, which unfortunately amounted to no more than three small spoons. Not only we kept repeating the same request again and again, the servant unfortunately kept offering leftover hot sauce from the other tables and kept saying use this and she will bring more once we finish it. Surprisingly all of those jars didn't have more than 2-3 spoons of sauce left.
This not only highlighted a lack of attention to detail but also a disregard for providing a satisfying dining experience.
Adding to the dismay was the unexpected 18% gratuity charge. Surprisingly, there were no follow-up visits during the meal, and the waiter only appeared at the end to present the bill. This lack of engagement raises serious questions about the justification for such a substantial gratuity.
As someone who appreciates Thai cuisine, it pains me to say that Thai Garden fell far short of expectations. The combination of subpar service and an unjustified gratuity charge make it challenging to recommend this establishment to fellow diners.
I appreciate your feedback. Let me provide you with a revised version, focusing on your concerns about service, hot sauce availability, and the unexpected gratuity:
The food was average. Have had much better Thai food elsewhere. But the biggest turn off was the terrible, very cheap service for an 18% default gratuity. All tables had hot souse that is only 10-20% filled in the small jar (may be 2-3 teaspoon). When you order more you will get same left over 2 teaspoon hot souse from other table and waitress telling you to finish that first (very rude we were stunned). One of the worst and cheap service I have experienced ever.
We went there last night. The food was good but the service was TERRIBLY HORRIBLE. We ordered a spicy fried rice but it wasn't that spicy so we asked for the hot sauce because we like our food to be spicy, the waitress comes with a barely 1 spoon of sauce in the jar so we told her could you please give us more? She said finish this first. So, we calmy took that and order more after finishing that. Again, she comes with a super little sauce and we asked more, again, she responded the same, this repeated 4 times and we finally stopped ordering more sauce as it was annoying. Paying auto 18% gratuity for a party of 3 for such a service. Literally, one of the worst service we have ever experienced. Definitely not going there back BECAUSE of the service.
The best Thai
Beautiful food and good service 👌
Very chill folks. Very kind. Great food and atmosphere. Definitely going back. I did pick-up, but I would like to dine-in. It was quite a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Thanks, y’all for the great dining experience! A+++
When you dine in they charge an 18% gratuity with the bill, they nowhere mention about it in their menu card or anywhere else.
We have been coming here for over a decade. Best pad thai in the burbs! Always fresh and delicious. The popeye Kai is devine if you like peanut sauce. Thai Gardens has dishes that I have never seen on other menus! A+
Good food and service was right on.
Lots of food choices. One of my favorites is the spicy Tum Yum soup .
Went to try this place last night and it was very disappointing don’t waste your time in this place there are other place that’s better than this place.
Food was mid I got a Penang curry which is swimming in onions and lettuce? I don’t remember Penang curry having lettuce there was barely meat in it and the service was god awful also they auto tipped 18% for a terrible service when there wasn’t any signage of instant 18% gratuity until you ask them and they bring out the ragged menu that’s flooded in text where it’s printed super tiny at the back where you think it’s part of the menu! The food and service was awful but that’s the first time I was auto tipped with a party of two and since they’re auto tipping 18% the service could be down horrendous and still get paid I don’t have any problems on tipping but the service is god awful
The atmosphere at the restaurant was average. The appetizers had small portions, especially the crab Rangoon. However, the Tom Yum soup with lemongrass-infused broth was exceptionally delicious.
The mango meat dish was good, but it's worth noting that they include an 18% service charge. The overall dining experience featured tasty options, despite the smaller appetizer portions.
Great food !
Vegetarian dishes were good
Overall the food was ok, the Tom yum soup was excellent! When we got the bill, restaurant charged 18% gratuity automatically which was a surprise given service was ok and did not have food for my son which he ordered and the server could not really speak or understand English. Would not be dining in again!
Great food. Always consistent.
Absolutely my favorite Thai restaurant. My favorite is the Penang Chicken but my husband swears by the Spicy Pork meal. We both love the Tom-yum soup.. My sister-in-law was delighted when they were willing to add pineapple to her Pad Thai. This is a gem of a place. Reasonably priced and always quickly served.
Always excellent food and plenty of vegetarian choices. Staff is very friendly.
My favorite Thai restaurant - authentic and quick service. Good for dine-in too!
Worst Thai restaurant in Schaumburg. Service is terrible, staff is very poor in communication.
We have been dinning here for
more than twenty years and I would like to say the quality of the food is the same. Maintaining the taste of the food is always difficult but Thai Garden maintain that.
I really like the food and people.
We've ordered from Thai Garden a few times for working lunches. Every time has been a delight. The delivery service is always on time and food is still nice and hot. Our individual orders are correct even with some our special requests for more of this and less of that. Best of all the food is delicious!
Best Thai in the area!
The food we got delivered was an over fried egg roll which was so oily that it was inedible. The pineapple fried rice quantity was large but the taste was definitely below average and have had much better thai food in other restaurants.
The fried rice did not have any flavor and had no heat at all even though we chose spicy. In addition, the pineapple fried rice didnt have much pineapple at all. Pretty disappointed experience.
At Thai Garden, they understand our need of vegetarian food and guide accordingly with patience for many vegetarian dishes to choose from.
Courteous and knowledgeable management and nice tasty food. Excellent service by servers.
Thai Garden is truly authentic and delicious food. Always consistently tasty you absolutely cannot go wrong. Their staff is amazing too. On top of everything and making sure everything with the meal is perfect. Their lunch specials are affordable and they give good size portions. A must for Thai food enthusiasts.
I discovered this wonderful place over the summer and have been here several times since August! I am from Palatine, but moved to Milwaukee a few years ago. I come down to visit friends and such, often. And I make it a priority to come here and get a delicious meal. I love the atmosphere and vibe, and the service is amazing. The food is beyond delicious ! I really appreciate the extensive vegetarian selections on the menu. Very hard to come by,in the Midwest.
I will continue to come here. Beyond pleased!
Large menu with many choices.
Absolutely love this place! Delicious food and cute little spot for dinner! Not happy about the 18% gratuity added
Surprise! An 18% gratuity is added to checks of parties of "1 or more." This is terrible to find out after a mediocre meal at a restaurant that had very few customers, even in prime time. Never again!
I have been coming here with family and friends for many years, and we find that we can depend on having a good meal and pleasant, efficient service. We especially like the Tom yum soup and the Panang curries, but one reason we suggest it to guests is that the menu has something for everyone.
1 year ago i was followed by a waitress because she said , she forgot to charge me for a beverage, i walked back in like if i ditched the restaurant not wanting to pay...
3months later i left a 10 tip on a $50 bill, the same waitress followed me to my car in the parking lot and asked for a bigger tip...
I ONLY KEEP ON GOING BACK BECAUSE IS THE FOOD IS AWESOME...
I don't think i will have more issues about tips in this restaurant, since now the owner decided to charge tip in advanced regardless of the service you get... 😑😑😑😬🤭
Thai Garden has been my favorite Thai restaurant for over 23 years!
Delicious food. Portions on the small side and a bit pricey.
Best Thai food place in the area. Everything is so tasty! Zero complains! I highly recommend
We go here once every few months for years but this visit was a disaster on many fronts. We were so rushed to eat, pay the bill, and get out that it did not feel like a date night. When we left, it was still 30+ mins until closing time. I politely mentioned to the manager/owner how I felt but she said it was my fault and did not care if we went back there in the future (needless to say we are not going back ever and letting everyone know). I wanted to write this review after couple of days so it was not in the heat of the moment but it took me even longer as we got sick the next day (not sure if it was food related or the air in the restaurant)
The food was very good. However, there was a sign on the table that said an 18% tip would be added. I prefer to add a tip based on performance. I probably won't go there again. I won't speak for everyone but as a retiree on a fixed income, I won't go again unless they have a senior discount.
Have been dining here for years and years and have never been disappointed. Thai Garden is consistently great!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant for the last twenty-five years. I recommend the spicy chicken meal lunch special.
Roast duck curry was excellent. Tom yum soup was alright. Basil mussels were mid. Garden fried rice had a very unique flavor profile.
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
We love the food! Always great service! Good variety of vegetarian entrees.
We have been dining here since past 20 + years and the is so nice. She knows my kids so well that if they are not with us she always ask. Food is great!!
My extended family and Immediate family have been going to Thai garden for probably over 15 years. We are all vegetarians and this place has accommodated us very well. Very reasonably priced with high quality Thai food !!! Thanks.
Little pricey, but food delicious.
I always love ordering from Thai Garden. I stick to my favorites: Spicy fried rice w/ chicken, Spicy beef, and Panang Chicken. Everything is always delicious. The only reason I knock off a stars is because just a few years ago, the total for everything was $38 and now it’s $54! Same portion, but they’re definitely jacking up the prices there. I’ll still pay it of course, but I may order less frequently because of this.
I could eat the pad thai for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent portion too!
I have ordered large office lunches from thai garden many times, the food is always fresh and delicious, everyone loves it. The prices are reasonable and i will order it again. The only thing i would improve is add catering options through the website if possible, as its hard to order for 30 people with smaller portions.
The best Thai food I have ever had!! Consistently prepared excellent flavors. My familys favorite restaurant. It is really nice to have a place that is always so good. Not a bad meal ever and I have been going here for years.
Thai Garden has the best Thai food in the Chicagoland area. I love the Spicy Fried Rice, the Pad Si-EW, as well as the egg rolls but everything on the menu is great! This was our go to when we lived in Schaumburg. We’ve since moved about 40 minutes away but since they are Chicagoland’s best Thai food, we make the trip at least once a month since it’s well worth it. The food and service never disappoints!
Been coming here for years and always loved the basil fried rice. Was very disappointed this time. Ordered with chicken and didn't see any. After poking through the rice the chicken pieces were smaller than the rice. This dish had no flavor - I felt I was eating plain white rice. The girl behind the count look angry. The man in line before me left singing poker face. There was no one eating inside and they used to always be busy. Very sad. This was my favorite place for Thai food. Don't think I'll be going back.
Price - too high
Squid salad - below average.
Tom yum - ok.
Fried rice - ok
Satay - ok
Service - poor
Compulsory 18% service fee
Title: Extremely Dissatisfied Experience
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
Review: I regretfully cannot recommend this place. The overall customer service quality was extremely poor, and the food was just average. The employees clearly lacked training in customer service and effective communication. When I requested to speak with a manager, they not only refused to provide any information but also displayed disrespectful behavior. This experience was highly disappointing.
Lovely ambiance and great Thai food!
Food was delicious and the service was excellent.
The attention was courteous since the time we enter the restaurant up to when we were leaving.
2 Star for me
The food here is always fresh! We take out often and have never been disappointed.
Always a great dinner
Very wide variety on the menu. Food and service were very good. Furniture and tables a bit dated.
Food is great. I love coming here
always delicious, and a peaceful environment.
My go-to Thai restaurant! Excellent fresh spring rolls and pad thai. The chicken satay with peanut sauce is also delicious. Lots of vegetarian options!
I used to love this place but they must have lowered quality of ingredients as well as service.
I ordered Spicy Noodle with Chicken to go. First of all, two young girls took order but one of them did not know if the Pad Woon Sen is with brown sauce or clear sauce. Then I was waiting there in the waiting area for the whole time, but they did not even bother finding me to hand the food. It turned out the food had been ready and sitting behind the front table. If I did not walk up to the desk and asked, it would have been sitting there getting cold forever.
Then the food. Chicken smelled. It must be old to stink like that. Probably cheaper to get past expiration meat. Also the whole dish lacked flavor other than the chili spice. Never ordering this again, and I will not return to the restaurant anytime soon
Wow… Authentic Thai food… food is so delicious…
The lady in front laughed at me when I asked for peas.. she said after they don’t have them, which is fine. Apparently I didn’t know that and should’ve? Thanks for making me not wanting to come back. Food was decent though.
Had 2 different tofu entrees and was extremely disappointed. Tofu was very dry and looked like it was reheated from the previous day. Food was very bland and had a glass of wine that tasted like they left the bottle open for a few days. Waitress barely check on our table.
