We had the Chicken Satay, Curry Puffs, Tom Yum Soup, Basil Fried Rice, Pad Thai and Cashew Noodles! I can sincerely recommend all these dishes, they were perfect, down to the last bite! My personal favorite was the Cashew Noodles, in which I requested for some tofu to be added, and the spice level to be medium. Their peanut sauce is lip smacking good.
Definitely a top recommendation from me, you won’t regret it! And try the Thai Iced Tea too 😋

What a discovery! Cozy, beautiful Thai restaurant in the heart of Madison street and Oak Park/River Forest. Decorated with Thai old vibes that make it look very good, with a window that can even open to the street, which is very cool! Service was very good, polite, fast, and always helpful with a smile, we really enjoyed it. On top of everything, food was very tasty and fresh. We had shrimp in the blanket (extremely crispy), catfish basil (outstanding) and a yummy ground chicken salad, very good and good spice level (you can ask for more/less spicy). Very good experience and price is very reasonable, so we will be back again soon!

During my 10-day stay at Forest Park, I discovered a Thai restaurant that quickly became one of my favorite culinary finds. The delightful flavors of their dishes were simply irresistible. The Satay Chicken, in particular, stood out with its incredibly tasty sauce that left me craving for more. The Tom Yum Soup and Pad Thai were also outstanding, making each bite a burst of authentic and yummy goodness.
Apart from the delicious food, the staff's warmth and friendliness added to the overall positive experience. If I have the chance to visit Chicago again, I won't hesitate to return to this restaurant. It's the perfect spot for anyone in search of mouthwatering Thai cuisine served with a smile. Highly recommeneded for a memorable dining experience in the area!

Well it's not Mama's inventive curries, or the daughters attempt to mainstream the menu. But what I've had was good and satisfying, the service polite. The forest park equivalent to mama thai in oak Park, a menu adjusted for American taste. However, the spicy food was spicy

Absolutely amazing Thai food and friendly, fast service. The people who work here are so kind. We ordered the yum salad, pad see yew, Tom kha, larb salad, green curry, red curry, chick tofu with broccoli and ALL were so tasty and delicious. Our waitress and who we think might be the owner or manager were so kind and went above and beyond. Highly recommend!!

Localized Thai restaurant, typical American creamy food here.

Today, one of my favorite places to eat in the area let me down. I've come here a bunch of times and the food has been great. Everyone greets you with a smile. Today, I ordered chicken satay which was delicious and panang curry. The curry was bland. It didn't taste like much of anything. It was very watered down. It seems like they gave us the bottom of the pot that they didn't want to throw out and remake and added a splash of extra coconut milk. I was very surprised. Hoping to not have a similar experience next time.

In from outta town, and I gotta say… this is honestly one of the best Thai places I have ever eaten at! Generous portions and extremely flavorful. Never had BBQ pork Pad Thai before, and my goodness… 10/10 would recommend.

We've tried every Thai/fusion place in the western suburbs and Yum Thai is absolutely, consistently delicious. A legit menu. Generous portions and the service is excellent both in house and for delivery. Delivery is quick, friendly, and neatly packed (no spills, even the drinks!). We especially love their salads, noodles, and curries. They have a rotating specials menus and everything is fresh and delicious. We'll often order extra because any leftovers heat up well and are just as delicious the next day. For my fellow non-white diners: if you ask for "spicy" they will scratch that itch in the most perfect way :)

Yum Thai has been almost a weekly Go-to for us for many years, long before they moved to the new location. The owners are the nicest people. The food never disappoints. This place is like a second home. Favorites: green curry, spices, pad see ew, seafood pasta, chicken satay, catfish curry.

My new favorite Thai food! I've had both of my go-to dishes and the tastes were 100% to my liking. Pai Tai was perfect, down to the wedge of lime and fresh, crisp sprouts. The Chicken Panang was creamy and heat just right. Only thing odd was there were no vegetables in the curry, only chicken. The fried ragoon were obviously and deliciously hand made!Service friendly, and place more casual (e.g. paper napkins, specials on chalk board) than the other nearby Thai places. The others are a bit pricier as well, and I love the more "home cooking" vibe.
Has become my Sunday supper 2 weeks and counting!! Give this one a try...

Very racist. We came in with a kid and wanted to dine in. But wait time ws 20 minutes. We agreed to order to go but seemed like someone is ready to leave. We asked if they can let us know if table gets free before we get our food. But the lady said , you already ordered to go. She didn't even consider that we were waiting with a baby and are ordering from them. I wish i cancelled the order. Never ever coming back here again regardless of good rating.

This is my go-to Thai place. Everything I’ve had has always been delicious. It’s my comfort place.

This authentic Thai restaurant had delicious food at affordable prices. The owner was very kind and personable. She was hilarious and even brought us a cucumber salad and a red curry sample on the house. Both of which were delicious. We also learned that the thai restaurant down the street may have had some less than honorable beginnings that made us glad to support Yum Thai.

The name is not a mistake! The food is phenomenal ❤️ Had the beef and garlic appetizer (amazing), pad kee mao with bbq pork (delicious), and spicy green curry with tofu (I could be fed this for the rest of my life). This place is a “it was sad to be full because I wanted to keep eating” kind of good.

I came here with a friend recently and i will never be returning. The food was okay. Everything was fine until one of the workers came up to us after and started complaining about us not leaving a tip and basically told us to leave when the service wasn’t even that great. We came and there were no seats available so we had to come back later and still didn’t get sat for about 10 mins. when we finally got sat we didn’t even get menus right away. I have no complaints about the food but the waitress (who didn’t even serve us) was disrespectful.

Listen. I know there are many Thai places in the area, and some of them are even GOOD. But, for GREAT Thai food, it's gotta be yum Thai. It's as close to authentic Thai food as you're going to get without taking an 18 hour flight.

Love this place! Have been coming here for years— here and the old location! The personal service and the amazing food knock my socks off every time. Take out is also fabulous. My favorites are the tung tag, khao soy, and basil chicken. The panang curry is also to die for.

We love their new location at 7330 Madison. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. Our waitress was happy to accommodate my dietary needs . There is plenty of street parking or nearby lots. Very walkable; after dinner, we walked up Madison, looking into stores, restaurants, and bars.

Super friendly staff and the BEST crab racoons I have ever had. I had the seseme chicken and my group also had the seafood curry and fried rice. All agreed that the meals were some of the best we've ever had. Can't recommend it enough

Yum Thai is the BEST Thai food that we have had in Chicago. We come here at least once a week (either dine in or take-out)--the staff is SO friendly and the food is superb. My favorite items are the basil-fried rice and the Bangkok chicken. If you dine in they also have a really tasty ginger tea. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, its owners, and its staff--if you haven't been and are in the forest park / oak park area, definitely check it out!

Lovely atmosphere, chill lounge music playing (which I love compared to standard radio hits). Food is tasty with well balance of spices and flavors. Husband got the Penang curry- with nice refreshing flavor. I had the pad Thai - sauce was excellent! Owner is also very friendly and accommodating. Servers are friendly and attentive. Will be back!

We order Yum Thai at least once a week for delivery, and have been doing so for the last seven years. Vicki is a sweetheart, and she really enjoys getting to know her customers and their preferences. I told her she cannot retire because my daughter loves her Sesame Chicken and needs it at least once a week! My husband lived in Thailand for a bit, and he comments all the time that Yum Thai’s food is authentic & really delicious. We live in Oak Park and there are several other Thai food options, but we only order from Yum Thai!
They moved to a closer, beautiful location and dining in has been a treat.

My friend and I have been dining at Yum Thai for years. We finally were able to check out there new location. The first thing I noticed before walking in is there beautiful signage above the exterior of the building. The dining room is cozy and decorated with wood carvings on the walls. The owners are delightful. They make you feel like part of the family. Our server was exceptional, The food at Yum Thai has always been great and even better at this new location. they have a BYOB policy, bring your own bottle of wine or whatever alcoholic beverages you like, and the server will supply the glasses, and the wine opener. I love this new location. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. Guarantee you will love the dining experience as much as I did.

Finally got takeout for the first time last night and DANG! This is some good food! The crispy sesame chicken was the most amazing chicken I've had in ages. The massaman curry and chicken satay were really tasty too. Can't wait to have more and dine in next. YUM!

Yum Thai moved from a less accessible, visible space on west Madison to the heart of Downtown Forest Park.

Great service! There was a line, but it went quickly and we were seated. There are tables that can seat six, tables for two, and a couple of counter stools.

Great selection of dishes laid out on an accessible menu. Even though the restaurant was full, and with online orders coming in, we got our drinks and appetizers, meal in well timed intervals without feeling rushed.

The food was hit, well seasoned and fresh ingredients. The chicken wings were not processed, but prepared on site. The grilled shrimp were shell-on and well seasoned.

We definitely give them 5 stars and can't wait to go back. Reasonably priced as my son tends to restaurant order for the meal he's eating, after dinner snack and lunch the next day. Bill was $65 for 4 appetizers, 2 entrees and two drinks. It is BYOB for alcohol. They'll give you glasses for your beverages.

The best to ever do it. On one hand, there’s a fair amount of Thai restaurants in the vicinity. On the other, it’s only Yum Thai that we crave, that we really want. The yum goong salad is funky and bright, with shrimp that are grilled so delicately and perfectly. The massaman curry with chicken (my favorite dish) is the definition of comfort food, not ever done QUITE as well when I’ve had it elsewhere; this is the gold standard for me. We love this place.

We had inconsistent food for the past 9 months. The spice level and quality has been up and down. My partner also got food poisoning the last time we ordered out which was the Bangkok Chicken. I would stick to the popular items and mostly noodle dishes.

Yum Thai is an excellent restaurant. The owner, who also is one of the chefs, and her husband sincerely care about each guest's experience. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu choices. Adaptations to the meal are made whenever possible to prepare it as requested. And the food is delicious!

The people at Yum Thai are not only very good at their craft, but so kind. I've seen customers giving them hugs, and I just called for our Nth order and love how they call you "hun", not like a dude but like your auntie on the phone. Our kids LOVE Yum Thai, it's always on their request list for dinner. 1) their sesame crispy chicken is actually crispy 2) their rama chicken and pad Thai are excellent 3) there have our favorite potstickers in town!

Rice was over cooked, sticky and gummy in my beef fried rice. The worst I have had.

Best Tom Kha soup! We moved from River Forest last year but still go back to Yum Thai regularly. Some of the best Thai we've had! The staff are exceptional and orders are always correct.
