Casual Thai spot with a large menu of faves including pad Thai & curries in a sleek, warm space.
This place is a BYOB. We ordered their spicy tofu - level 4 and fresh spring rolls for appetizers and garlic fried rice (veg).
The waitress said level 5 was really hot ., so we did 4. But we felt we could have increased a level as it was still a bit on the sweeter side for us.
There is no corking fee. We loved our waitress.
The garlic fried rice, very well balanced - the best i've eaten in a while. !!
We had a night out with friends. I had the beef pak kee Mao. It was good but a little spicy. My wife had the beef with vegetables and that was really good. We also had the chicken skewers which was done perfectly with the sauce. This place is BYOB and no bottle charge. I would recommend and just tell them you donβt want spicy unless you really like spicy food
I needed a good, authentic Thai restaurant to take my wife for her birthday. This place was perfect. Nice for a dinner for 2 or party of 10. Everything we ordered was delicious and that come from my Thai wife who misses Thailand and can never find a place she likes. She was happy to see they had the freshest vegetables as if right from the farm. We will be back. Try the Tiger Cry for an appetizer, you won't be disappointed π
The food is decent, though it leans toward a sweeter taste overall. However, the basil rice stands out as a well-executed dish. Some menu items could benefit from more attention to seasoning and balance. Given that the restaurant has been open for many years, I would have expected certain dishes to be less sweet.
The restaurant is clean, which adds to the overall dining experience. I didnβt try the soup this time, but I have high expectations for it on my next visit and hope it wonβt disappoint.
As for the service, the waiter did an excellent job communicating in English. However, as a Thai customer, I attempted to speak Thai but still received responses primarily in English. While I appreciate the professionalism, maintaining the same high standard of service for both locals and foreigners is important. Consistency in customer experience should be a priority.
I recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, but keep in mind the tendency toward sweetness in some dishes.
Great place, my family and I have been coming here since before they moved locations. Food never disappoints. Came recently with some friends for a birthday and they let me bring in a cake and even stored it for me until it was time for dessert. That papaya salad and pad Thai were 10/10 but everything was, like I said. I always pass by for some Thai Iced Tea as well. Prices are great and food is great
I absolutely adore this Thai restaurant. The prices are extremely affordable and the food is always delicious. I really enjoy how quick and friendly the servers are as well! Iβve gone in and ordered takeout on multiple occasions and have had a very consistent(and pleasant) experience every time which is great to see.
One of the best Thai restaurants- perfect for dining in or take out. It is BYOB so that also helps to keep the check low and prices are very friendly. The service is quick even if the place is full, the atmosphere is nice and cozy. Our favorites are Shu Mai, red curry and glass noodles, you can experiment with the spice level.

My go-to Thai spot in West Town. Many vegetarian options, all delicious, prepared quickly and consistently. Opart rules! π€
ONE STAR REDUCTION Update: Opart wouldnβt let a delivery driver use their bathroom. Dude was hurtin! Sick and inhumane. GTFO!
This place is a BYOB. We ordered their spicy tofu - level 4 and fresh spring rolls for appetizers and garlic fried rice (veg).

Typically love this place. But ordered the Pad Thai for delivery on 1/14 and found several long hairs in it. An immediate loss of appetite; needless to say.
For both dine in and delivery, the food is always soo good and always hits the spot!
Delivery is always right and hot and always comes quickly!!
The spice level is pretty legitimate, so be prepared for spiciness if you commit to level 5
Weβve ordered from Opart and always love the food. Dined in for the first time and it confirmed that the food is great and hospitality fantastic. Paul, our server was helpful and hilarious. Thanks!
Great service, great food!!
Very disappointed. The quality seems to have gone down. I ordered the stirfried noodles with veggies and shrimp. First, there were only 3 shrimp but they were so overcooked to be rubbery. It was also too sweet. The Tom Yum soup was good, but not enough for me to give a better review. Again. A very disappointing experience.
After 15 years or so and multiple moves, I'm about done with this place. Still tasty, but quality control is going downhill with their carry out in particular. Been upcharged several times for additional veggies in the curry, but without any substantive change in the food. Today we got what appears to be a lunch sized (and totally cold) portion of cashew chicken for the normal price. I get that price increases have to happen, but there still needs to be value there folks.

My friend took me to eat to this place, he was here last week and recommended Kuay Tiew Kee Mao with shrimp (medium spice)Crab Rangoon and Jasmine tea. The crab rangoon was very delicious. The Kuay Tiew Kee Mao was suppose to be stir fried but looked liked boiled soupy noodles, had no flavor whatsoever only spicy hot. My friend told me it wasn't at all the same dish as his last visit. It was terrible tasteless hot spicy boiled noodles, no I don't recommend, definitely not going there again, also the serving portion not like other Asian restaurants, it's small portions.

Iβve gone in and ordered takeout on multiple occasions and have had a very consistent(and pleasant) experience every time which is great to see.
Generally the food is really good, always get spicy Basil chicken level 5, never any issue until today. But today the food was so hot it was inedible. A complete waste of over $80 worth of food. Today is my birthday too, smh.
The best Thai delivery! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Ordered the larb salad, khao soy and crab rangoons. Wouldnβt change a thing. Made our day. Thank you!!
Staff is wonderful! Food is fresh and sooo tasty. My favorite place!
Food is good customer service could use some adjustments
Great place for Thai in the city! Pleasant atmosphere, kind friendly staff, and delicious food that was also priced really well! I will definitely aim to come back to this gem.
Iβve been going to Opart Thai since 2011 when the state street location was all they had. When we moved to west town we were thrilled to have the βnewerβ location available to us. Weβve been ordering a lot over the recent years from the Chicago Ave location, but the amount of chicken in the curry has been slowly and steadily declining to a point where today we got about 5 pieces of chicken in our meal. The food tastes great but for the price you can afford to put a normal portion of chicken in the curry. Itβs gotten to a point where I donβt know if we will order again.
I would give 0 stars. But there is no option for that. Food is 1 star , no taste , no flavor , due to which I asked for chilli sauce , twice. After 10 minutes when it never came , I went to the counter to ask for chili πΆοΈ sauce and the waiter I requested the sauce originally , asked me if he could help me. I told him I asked you for the chilli sauce twice ,
He had the audacity of telling me , you only asked once and the second time it was the lady at the table. And he said he was taking orders and was very busy . When I asked him , is that my fault , he said it was not his fault either. Shameless person. Had a huge argument. Worst waiter and service ever. Basically trying to compete with me , instead of accepting fault. We just did not want to create a scene , so just paid the bill and left , other wise is dude was ready to fight. Unbelievable The only reason people come here I think is , itβs cheap definitely. But not worth it still. Very very rude and disrespectful and disastrous waiter. . Never ever coming back. Donβt make this mistake .
I ordered a delivery from Opart Thai House yesterday and this was, hands down, the best thai food Iβve had in the city. Curries were tasty, spice levels were true to descriptions and their vegetable egg rolls were incredibly tasty. The delivery was quick and smooth and I canβt wait to eat food from here again! If youβre in the area and want something tasty that would not break your budget, it is an absolute must!
We had a night out with friends. I had the beef pak kee Mao. It was good but a little spicy. My wife had the beef with vegetables and that was really good. We also had the chicken skewers which was done perfectly with the sauce. This place is BYOB and no bottle charge. Amazing Thai food - Panang curry and basil fried rice are really good ! Spicy and fresh
Red curry was extremely bland and the rice was mushy
I decided to splurge and get Thai food for lunch. I was so disappointed upon trying the pad See ew, as it was really oily. I had a few bites only, which is so disappointing.
OWNER IS VERY RUDE & CHEAP! NEEDS TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS IMMEDIATELY!
Thank you for being so aware of food allergies, especially gluten and dairy. Really good and so many options!
I needed a good, authentic Thai restaurant to take my wife for her birthday. This place was perfect. Nice for a dinner for 2 or party of 10. I like everything except the Pad Thai
Food was ready by the time they said for pickup and they made sure we had all the utensils and condiments we needed.
Chicago really has some of the best Thai food outside of Thailand and this place doesn't disappoint. I love all their curries. I go at least once a week for takeout.
I got take out. Food is bland and oily.
Duck curry and Tiger Cry were great. Reasonably priced. Definitely coming back the next time I need a Thai fix.
We loved the crab rangoon and the chicken satay for starters. We also loved the thai iced tea - sometimes those are a miss, and this one was great! Our entrees were a little less saucy, a little dry. Overall, we enjoyed it and have great service and pricing of their menu!
Food was really not good. We didnβt like that much
Food was not good we were not impressed
Very good. Very worth the price most of their food is very good. The wonton soup is either delicious or very bland. I've had it go both ways.
This has been my go-to Thai spot for over 5 years now. Best Pad See-Iew, Tiger Cry, & Crab Rangoons in the city!
10/10! Delicious food and great friendly staff! I have to say the chicken satay here is the best iβve ever had compared to many other thai places in chicago!
My go to for Thai. So so good.
Great service, solid Thai food, fairly priced. Nothing wow about the food, but still good.
Amazingly good Thai food
The best Thai food pound for pound in the city. Had it dozens of times, its a deep menu and every dish here is good. In my opinion, the standouts are the thai curries. My favorite is Gaeng Massaman. I like my food spicy, seriously, but getting anything over a 3 on their 7-point spice scale is not for the faint of heart.
Good food and experience all around.
Ordered a noodle dish, and the amount of veggies in it were like garnish. And it was super oily. Just not tasty
Better than noble Thai π€« great prices and fast service
This is my favorite Thai Restaurant. The food is the best; affordable prices and the wait staff is nice, sincere and efficient. Very relaxed and calming atmosphere.
I decided to come to this restaurant because of all the great reviews. This was my first time coming here. I donβt understand all the great reviews. I was really disappointed. I ordered takeout. There were hardly any vegetables in my dish. Maybe the dishes are better if you dine in. I really was hoping to like this place.
Yellow curryyy
Very good food, fast service, and deliciously SPICY!!
good food and affordable
Great family run restaurant with fantastic Thai food. Highly recommend for residents in the area!
Came to pick up order and didnβt let me use restroom.
Awesome
Thai food
I had beef pad Thai takeout, pretty fast and the food is great
One of the best Thai restaurants- perfect for dining in or take out. It is BYOB so that also helps to keep the check low and prices are very friendly. The service is quick even if the place is full, the atmosphere is nice and cozy. Our favorites are Shu Mai, red curry and glass noodles, you can experiment with the spice level.
It takes a very long time to prepare orders
Ordered $85 worth of food and fried rice came smelling so bad almost rotten smelling. Did not eat at all. This place has definitely gone down hill! Flavorless food low quality on items Iβve ordered before.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago. Used to eat here once a month when I lived in the Windy City. Authentic Thai food, friendly staff, great atmosphere.
Ordered Kee Mao/Drunken Noodles and Vegetable Egg Rolls β not at all satisfied with the taste and quality. Both the items were extremely oily. Taste and look wise, there seemed to be zero difference between Egg Rolls & Spring Rolls. And the Kee Mao Noodles barely had any vegetables β just a lot of sauce and saucy noodles. My choice of protein wasnβt enough as well (as compared to the industry standards from my personal experiences elsewhere). As someone who has had a ton of great Thai food in New York (thankfully NY Thai food scene is genuinely good) I can assure that better Thai food exists for sure.

Went here for lunch on Sunday with some friends. I already scouted out the menu prior to our arrival, so I knew what I was going to get. My friends wanted some apps, so they ordered the Moo ping, Tiger cry, and fried tofu. For the main entrees, we went with beef pad siew, pad kra pow with ground pork, and I asked for a fried egg on top, and garlic fried rice with chicken.
Everything we ordered was savory, and delicious. I have been to countless Thai restaurants, and this is definitely in the top 3. Our servers were also attentive, as I didnβt have to ask for a refill, and they checked in on us on a few occasions. I regret waiting so long to eat at this restaurant. I wonβt be making that mistake, as this place has earned a spot in my rotation.
Good value for food;
Taste wasn't authentic for us and quantities seemed small. I did really enjoy the "TIGER CRY" - super good.
Love this place. Love thai food and have been to many thai restaurants around the country. This has been the best.
Looking for good Thai for takeout or delivery? Go to Noble Thai instead. Opart gives small portions and the food is tasteless in comparison. At least it was still hot when I received it.
Beware their food runs spicy!! I usually order a level 3/4 but here I always get 2. Everything is yummy. Love their panang curry and Khao Soi
Super fast prep and delivery, good tasting food, worth the visit...
Great traditional Thai food. Tom yum soup is a good go to and canβt forget the steak salad!
This restaurant was delicious!
Food had no flavor, very bland. Had the chicken pad Thai and fried rice
I just ordered take out from over the weekend, Ordered some Gaeng Panang Curry, Tiger Cry, Pad Kra Praow, and some Egg rolls. It was exactly what we needed from Thai food that evening plus it was still nice and warm by the time it was delivered. Definitely recommend to anyway looking for a great takeout Thai food!
A true gem when it comes to Thai food. Iβve been to this restaurant multiple times and never get tired of it, fantastic service, great food and great prices.
I always get the Tiger Cry appetizer which is beef cooked on a charcoal grill it seems with a delicious dipping sauce, itβs one of the most tasty things Iβve eaten.
Their pad Thai is incredible too, this time I got their Peanut Sauce Lover dish and itβs out of this world, specially if you love onions and peanut sauce! Crab Rangoons are crisp and fresh, all the noodles cooked perfectly.
Come to this place, you wonβt regret it!
I highly recommend paying a visit to this location! Stopped here for dinner with a date for a casual night out. She is a big fan of Opart, and now I know why. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was great and tasted fresh. The staff was very kind and helpful. Our waitress was pretty fantastic and had great humor.
If given the chance, I would definitely like to return and try more of their great food.
Amazing service by Paul, Thank you! Every dish we had was amazing!! I always recommend this place to friends. Opart Thai has been my favorite restaurant since I was 8 and now Iβm here for my 22nd birthday lol! They have THE BEST Thai food. Itβs the only Thai food restaurant I eat at, SERIOUSLY. I love it!
Still one of the best Thai restaurants in the city although I do feel they don't put as much meat as they used to in their dishes but taste is amazing!
Great food and service
First time trying. Crab rangoons were so good. yellow curry and pad thai and thai iced tea are solid too. I think I horribly underestimated their spice level, or they messed up the pad thai. Not sure, but a level 2 on curry was amazing. Level 2 on pad thai was like a 4 or 5 to what we're used to.
Panang curry is so good!! Very friendly staff as well.
Yummy thai food near the city! Highly recommend their Pad Thai and Garlic fried rice. Unfortunately their quality isn't always consistent but usually pretty good
Iβve love Opart Thai ever since I used to go to an old location of theirs in South Loop. I especially love their pad se ew and that their khao soy. The service is always great and itβs BYOB which is a plus. itβs a relatively affordable and quick meal in West Town, which can be a little hard to find. no complaints here! Iβm just always surprised to see that itβs never that busy. People ordering takeout from third parties shouldnβt be surprised. The food continues to cook while itβs waiting for your driver in in transit. Eat at the restaurant and eat fresh!
The food was amazing and filling. A big plate of Food costed only $11 and the music makes it feel better
Ordered takeout and received laughably small portions. Echoing what many of the takeout focused reviews have said, the food is awesome but just not value for the price! Unlikely to order take out again, but happy to visit for Dine-In since they offer larger portions then.
Opart Thai House - West Town is a culinary treasure for Thai food lovers. Their menu offers a wide range of authentic and flavorful dishes. The cozy ambiance and attentive staff create a welcoming dining experience. For those craving delicious Thai cuisine in a warm setting, Opart Thai House is a must-visit. Can't wait to return for more tasty delights!
No idea where all these good reviews come from. One of the worst meals I've ever had the displeasure of ordering. Ordered via DoorDash pad se ew, spring rolls with peanut sauce, and Thai iced tea. Everything was watered down and bland. The tea tasted more of condensed milk and water than tea, couldn't even finish it. The only thing I could eat were the spring rolls, thanks to the peanut sauce, the sauce being the only part of the meal with flavor. The pad se ew was dry and had an incredibly weird smell. The noodles were also overcooked. Took one bite then threw in the trash. Never ordering from here again.
Been here twice with my daughter since our other location went to carryout only, thank you. Food has been very good, service exceptional, prices reasonable. Our last trip they brought us one of the wrong meals, I decided to be adventurous and try it. Loved it. They comped us on the meal. The waitress recognized the mistake, owned up to it and comped us. YOU NEVER SEE RESTAURANTS admit they are wrong. π.
Very nice.
The food was bland lacking authentic Thai flavours.
Omg this place is literally so delicious, I have celiac and they had sooo many gluten free option, I had the tofu sticks and the gluten free pad Thai and my stomach was soo happy. Very clean dinning and delicious .
I've been to this establishment when it was on Western Avenue. This location has a pleasant atmosphere, attentive service, and good food. We had Tiger Cry, Shrimp Shumai, Spicy Tom Yum Soup, and Pad Woon Sen. Everything was delicious except my favorite dish the Pad Woon Sen was mushy and lacked flavor. Still, 5 stars for the great experience. BYOB is an added bonus, which made my date more intimate and affordable.
Delicious food, thai food never lets u down π€.
I went with co-workers for lunch, who liked it very much. One of them ordered the shrimp fried rice. While she said it was good, she said it only had 4 shrimp in it. I thought the four shrimp on top were for presentation whilst more shrimp was present throughout the dish, but I don't know. She didn't say and seemed to enjoy it. We had the crab Rangoon, which we shared. It was so, so good. Be warned that if you ask for a very spicy entree, you will get it! I am used to hot, but this was 100 π― hot!! Portions are small but very tasty, freshly made, and delicious. Enjoy.
Best Thai food Iβve had in Chicago.
Service was incredible. Had a group of 12 and she took care of everyone.
BYOB is awesome. Level 5 is HOT... felt it the next day.
Will go back.
Best khao soi Iβve had anywhere 10/10 would recommend
We go often! Either dine in or carry out!π
After eating dinner here for the first time, we can definitely see what sets this place βOpartβ from the rest! The pad thai was a revelation, panang curry was a dream, and the khaki soy dish was.. oh boy! Gluten free options up the whazoo. Great to-go containers as well ;) Cheers!
The food is delicious, and hot, and comes in nice portions !
One my go-to Thai food restaurants in Chicago!! Good food, laid back & the team there is super friendly!
Delivery took 105 minutes on a Sunday at 4:30 pm and I live less than 2 miles away. I received no updates or notification that the order was delayed and when I called the restaurant twice to follow up was told "it's on the way" (still took 45 minutes after being told that) and no offer to compensate. Of course the food was cold when it got here so overall a horrible experience from a place that I used to love because they were quick and had good food.
finally found my favorite thai place in this part of Chicago! I ordered the Pad-see-lew and it was delicious. I wish there was a little more veggies but in the end I was happy they didnβt put weird stuff in it like tomatoes (which is a crime)
Got the red curry. Its missing flavor , it tastes like they put water coconut milk and store bought Thai curry paste. No kafir leaves , ginger or basil or any of the other seasoning spices to add depth of flavor so it was kinda bland.
The place seemed like quite a bit of take out than dine in folks (typical Asian places after pandemic).
Tiger cry was the real deal. I've never tasted anything like this. There's this mild sweetness with hint of spice and grill char taste here and there. Near is very juicy as well. So good.
Pad thai and garlic fried rice was just okay. We also had moo Ping which was really good and also large quantity for that price (6 skewers for like 8 bucks or so).
Probably around 40-45 mins to get the food ready.
This is by far some of the best Thai food I ever had so far in my life. The best part easily that you get a great portion for a reasonable price without breaking your pockets. I suggest definitely trying the veggie egg rolls & any soup and you will be super satisfied. Also the decor and design of the restaurant is very warming & cozy.
Best old school Thai in the city. Prices haven't jumped that much either, especially compared to most other Thai restaurants.
Fairly authentic Thai cuisine.
Unfortunately, it was closed last weekend. Shut down by the City of Chicago due to non-renewal of their Business license.
Loved the food
Great food for the price, and you can bring your own wine !!! I definitely recommend
Best Thai food in Chicago. Good vegetarian options.
Staff is great. Great food as well
Great place. Came in with a large group and they took care of us real nicely. Amazing service and amazing food. Would come back again.
Excellent food, exceptional service. And BYOB
Had the pad kra prow. Basil flavor was fine but dish was overly dry. Needs more sauce or better a sunny side egg.
This place crushes it. Formerly on Chicago @ Noble
My go to Thai. Best in Chicago
The portions AW small and they barley add any protein! Very little chicken or beef was added to our plates. It s definitely a 3 star restaurant
Was great!
My go-to place for Khao soy and Thai curries. Quantity is a lot for a single person. Service is good too. Great for dine-in or delivery
Yes yes yes! Opart Thai House delivers on incredible Thai food.
Iβm such a big fan of the Tiger Cry. If you love steak, youβll love this dish. Youβre welcome!
This has been my favorite Thai restaurant for many years and through several owners.
I wanted to like the restaurant so much and I think I just need to try it again! I had the Pad See Ew and was pretty surprised about the flavor. This was the first time Iβve had PSE and it wasnβt sweet (which is what I expected). It tasted more like a peanut or soy base. The meat was super yummy though and I am committed to coming back and trying something different!
Great food. Worth to try.
Mouth-watering food and excellent service. Very kind and attentive staff. We had catering service and they went above and beyond. If you are vegetarian this would be an excellent choice!
January 2023
Dine in was very average. It seemed that the quality of food is declining. Positive is BYOB. Dishes were missing ingredients resulting in major impact on the flavor. The take out business had significantly and negatively impacted on the quality of the food, the wait time and ambiance. Sorry, all areas must improve!
April 2022
Take out order.
The portion sizes are 1/4 or 1/2 what you get in dine in. No napkins or flatware. No requested extras.
Dissapointing...
Some of the best thai noodles Iβve ever had in Chicago. Amazing flavor and spice and the portions are generous for the cost. Theyβre also able to vegan-ize their dishes which is great. Absolutely recommend, plus itβs BYOB
everything we catered was so delicious will be trying this place again!
The shrimp tempura was decent. Basil fried rice wasnβt very good and the rice tasted old and dry.
