Never had any problems with this store. Food is always really good, teas are a little more on the sweet side so ask for less sugar. But i love the food, its never a miss. Definitely a must try at least once kinda place.

Service and atmosphere were great. Staff nice and personable. It’s a neighborhood so parking can be challenging. S an P chicken wings were good 9/10 crispy and small how I like my chicken. Crab Rangoon 7/10 needs a bit more of sweetness to balance the savory. Egg Foo Young was bland 5/10 and chicken fried rice 1/10 dry, hard, and flavorless.

Super friendly service. Very clean restaurant. Delicious food. Fresh smoothies and the citron tea was great. The walnut shrimp was amazing! My fiancé and I both gasped like we were in a commercial when we bit into the egg rolls. They were phenomenal.

Always stop here for their teas and they are so good. A bit disappointed I just stopped there for some drinks and ordered crab Rangoon and some beef sticks. The crab Rangoon barely had anything inside of them. They looked like they did but I took a bit into emptiness smh. Other than that the food is always good but a bit disappointed about the quick crab Rangoons I was looking forward too.

We decided to stop by after being sorely disappointed with Joy Yee in China Town and the prices of the other restaurants there as well.

This restaurant had great reviews and it did not disappoint. We ordered the mixed vegetables with tofu and substituted white sauce for brown. We also got the shrimp fried rice. The food was EXCELLENT. The only thing is, they offer two fried rices, one with small shrimp and one with large. I did t specify and we ended up with the small shrimp, but it was delicious. So we didn’t care.

The service was great. The prices were reasonable and the owner and other staff were friendly.Plus, the place was sooo clean.

I highly recommend.

The atmosphere is whimsical ,I learned a lot about the Chinese new year, my food wad prepared fresh and hot, I love the salt and pepper wings and goyza the chicken dumplings .

This is some of the best Chinese food I've had in Chicago. The flavor is amazing, I will be eating here from now on... can't wait to try other dishes... BTW I had shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg foo young, and shrimp lo mein. Phenomenal great job Yao's cafe...

I got food poisoning from the vegetable rice also a time before that a couple months ago I got sick after I drank a smoothie…. 🥹

Really wish they had non dairy milk (why I deducted a star) so that I could try the matcha, etc but we do enjoy the fruit tea drinks.

The food is not as good as what I'm used to in Bridgeport or Chinatown. It was very hot in there the last time I went in. Teas are good as long as you ask for less sugar.

We live Yao’s! We probably go to Yao’s more than any other food place! Great boba tea and food! My only complaint is the egg rolls have an odd texture, but that is not enough to keep me away.

Food is pretty great. Price is fair. $20-$25 range gets you a large portion for 2 and a smoothie or other drink. What I’ve tried so far tastes pretty fresh, flavorful and was prepared quickly. A nice place to stop in and grab a quick lunch alone/with friends or a treat yourself meal after work. I appreciate the vegetarian options that are available. Staff is pleasant and attentive.

Truly the best Boba I’ve ever had!!!!! They hook it up!!! so many places are really stingy with Boba and they charge you a lot for extra this place automatically gives you so much good portion size. The taro pudding is the best I’ve ever had so yummy.!!!!

My first time ordering from here was today and the food was pretty good…I had the sesame seed chicken lunch special with fried rice, the rice could of been better seeing it had no onion and bean sprouts in it. I also ordered the shrimp egg foo young meal and chicken stuffed dumplings.

I am giving Yao's Cafe a four star rating, as this is my time trying Yao's Cafe, the few items that I tried I found to be both tasty and well prepared; I am looking forward to returning to Yao's to try some different items from their menu, and of course their large selection of teas...So to just sum up a bit, I will check back in the near future, with another more comprehensive review; once I have a chance to try the rest of their menu.

Food was great & lunch/dinner specials were generously portioned! Egg rolls are bomb. We also had Mongolian beef, general tso's chicken, egg foo young, egg drop soup & crab ragoons & it was all a hit! Strawberry banana smoothie was also delicious!

We really like this place it's quite and clean however they always get our orders wrong. We order one thing and get something else and their rice is cooked to Al Dente for us.

Fresh food and drinks, generous portions! Takeout was carefully prepared. The sweet and sour soup was lacking flavors, but the veggies were ample, which made up for it! Everything else was very tasty!

I went there for my first time. I highly recommend the grape fruit green tea easy on sugar. So refreshing. The curry shrimp was scrumptious. I will go back to try their other drinks and dishes. I am glad there is a decent Asian joint within walking distance from my house. It is nice to have some variety in Canaryville.

Lovely and friendly staff. The smoothies and bubble teas are fantastic. I usually just walk-in and order food, I haven't waited more then 7 minutes or so as a walk-in. Food portions are what you expect with Chinese food (generous) and everything tastes fresh and flavourful thus far. Only thought is I order extra veggies to be added to my food for a charge and I haven't noticed a big difference between a normal order and extra veg one, hopefully that improves :) Great place though and I always look forward to going.

Huge step in turning Canaryville into a nicer place to live. Yao's cafe brings some diversity, delicious food, bubble tea and smoothies. There's a few tables inside, but mostly geared towards takeout. Service has been quick even when all the neighbors kids are there.

I've been glad to see the community embrace it and I'll certainly be a regular. Hoping it attracts more great businesses to the neighborhood!

Finally some nice Chinese takeout in the Canaryville area, with the bonus of having many variations of bubble tea and smoothies! We went the second day they opened and are excited to eat there again! Would highly recommend the combination fried rice and the beef chow fun.

We like to patronize our neighborhood stores and restaurants so we tried the new Yaos Cafe and it didn't disappoint. Looking forward to trying the Orange chicken and beef with broccoli.

I’ve been waiting for this place to open ever since I saw it in progress and I have to say it’s everything I’ve hoped for!

The food is delicious and its a great place to get tasty takeout without having to go all the way over to Chinatown. The bubble tea is great too!
