The smoothies with lychees were the best thing I have ever drank - maybe in a long time or even my whole life! A must try. I did the Kiwi Watermelon with Lychee Jellies. They make everything fresh, so be prepared for a little wait, but I swear it’s worth it! Almost forgot we got the Szechwan Dumplings too. Please go and support!

Pepper and salt smelt - would recommend, if you like spicy, I recommend asking for more peppers maybe?
Walnut shrimp - this dish threw me off, the batter they used is not the typical one that you'd expect for this dish.
Minced garlic chinese broccoli - was okay, it felt lacking seasoning for me.

One of my favorite spots for boba! They make the smoothies with fresh fruit. The food is delicious as well. Parking can be a hit or miss as it is street parking only. The restaurant can get really packed or you can be one of very few customers at the moment. It depends when you go.

We order takeout at least once a week: bbq pork fried rice, wonton soup, an appetizer, and a coconut smoothie with boba. 10/10 always delicious, packaged perfectly - they put the smoothie in a bag with ice so it arrives COLD -, and the price is RIGHT. Fast delivery! I can't recommend this place more!

I love their food but after a recent visit, while eating their pad Thai I ended up chocking on a piece of metal that I’m assuming came from their scrub. It was long and curly so when I coughed it up it caused pain. This just tells me they do not clean their tools well. I am so disappointed! I lowered my rating even more because I just learned of someone who needed surgery for this

1st time I have had a bad meal at this Cafe. I called to tell them about the meal. They are going to give me a free meal. Beef Pad See Eiw was what I ordered.

I’m sharing this experience because we’ve been loyal customers for a long time, and today was truly disappointing, especially given that it’s New Year’s Eve. My boyfriend and I were excited to enjoy dinner, so we called two hours ahead to avoid the NYE rush. When my boyfriend went to pick up our order, they told him they had lost it. After searching, they couldn’t find it and promised to remake it within 15 to 30 minutes. He decided to leave and return later. When he came back 30 minutes later, they told him they lost the order AGAIN. They ended up refunding the payment, but he came back empty-handed. On a busy night like NYE, this was incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. I hate writing this review but we’ve been customers for years so it’s disappointing.

I have been a loyal customer of Jess Cafe for years, but today’s experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered an extra-large chicken fried rice, and the quality was horrible. The rice tasted undercooked, with many white grains mixed in, as if they were trying to stretch the portion. It felt like a cheap and unacceptable attempt to cut corners. For the price I paid, I expect much better. Sadly, I won’t be placing another order here or eating from Jess Cafe again. The decline in quality is truly unacceptable.

I called for pickup and unfortunately the individual answering the phone didn’t actually place my order despite telling me my order would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes after the call and came to find out my order hadn’t even been sent to the kitchen. I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for my food despite seeing numerous people arrive and pick their food up promptly. I’ve been frequenting this establishment for 5 years but I can’t support a place that doesn’t value their customers time.

I ordered California Benedict, and they’re horrible. The eggs are so hard that it doesn’t make sense for this type of breakfast (and I hate hard eggs 😭), and the sauce…I don’t even know how to explain this. I also can't understand how you can mess up French toast; they are so dry that they should be called cinnamon toast instead 😭😭

Hands Handsdown Pan-Asian fix for you if you are craving for an affordable and authentic Asian grub. Atmosphere is nice, clean and updated. Bathroom is clean. Service is prompt and professional. Food is affordable and delicious. As an Asian raised in Asia, I highly recommend their restaurant to feel your Asian cuisine cravings. Would definitely try out their other menu next time!

Late night dinner. I big on cleanliness for sweet and sour bottles seemed dirty who know when they were last cleaned. My husband had red curry shrimp which wasn’t spicy but he said was okay. The Jumbo shrimp fried rice was okay but nothing was jumbo about the shrimp. The egg fu young thank goodness no eggs shell but he no flavor or the sauce. The waitress came gave us water but nothing to come back or revisit. The smoothie Tao was amazing that is definitely worth it.

The food taste good. But servers never took off the same gloves they wore. All wearing blue gloves from taking orders, taking others customers dirty plates, wiping the tables, answering the phone and etc. They never take off their gloves, did not wash hands. We were there almost 2hours.

When you first pull up to the sign outside you get the typical Chinese restaurant vibes. However as soon as you walk in you see the busy line for pickup and then the small but cozy dining room. They have a massive menu filled with different Asian delicacies from soft shell crab to shrimp. Every time I come here I try to sample something different. The smoothies are made fresh, their coffee is phenomenal. Even the basic iced tea is delicious. The service was great, very attentive and constant touching of the table to make sure everyone is having a good time eating. The atmosphere is family oriented and relaxing. My son who has a hard time sitting even loves to come here and enjoys the atmosphere. The portions are big and plentiful. We used to get take out but saw that we were missing out on the freshness of food coming straight out of the kitchen.

I dont usually write bad reviews “ but this left a bad taste in my mouth , I ordered a lunch special my total was supposed to be $12.73 when I got there to pick up my food I asked for a small cup of sweet & sour sauce the lady said ok and asked me to sign my receipt when I looked at the receipt the total was $16 ? I said did u charge me for the sweet & sour sauce and she said yes it is $3 it’s usually free why would I pay $3 for sauce for 1 egg roll ?? They at Money Hungry !! I will never go back

The food is great! Every time we have ordered has been a good experience. Combo fried rice, orange chicken, spring rolls, egg rolls, Pad Thai, crab ragoon. Thats all I can think of from the top of my head that we have ordered and it was really good!!

Jess cafe is always so solid. It is my family’s go-to for Chinese. I love dining in, but it’s also a solid ordering out spot. We enjoy the staff and how smoothly everything runs. The food is well made and ingredients feel fresh and flavors on point. They also have great portion sizes and their Crab Rangoons cannot be beat!!

Very disappointed. I used to love this place and after the first time the food wasn’t great I gave them a few more chances. No more. The orange chicken was awful, the sauce was watery and not good. The chicken tasted old and even the breading was stale. The Mongolian chicken was the same. The chicken tasted old like it had been reheated. It’s disappointing paying for food that you’re not even going to eat.

I had to change my review because they took too long for my delivery. Close to an hour in a half. Unacceptable.

Asian cafe with around 500 things on the menu. You might not like everything but you will definitely find something for yourself. Try avocado smoothie and Mongolian beef. The prices are reasonable, the food arrives quickly, the stuff is friendly.

First time I ate there it was good second time horrible. I found a cockroach in my food. The server laughed and tried to tell me it was an onion but it wasn't. She took it before I could get a picture. She played with it and said see it's an onion - but no I didn't see, all I saw was a bug. Gross! I will never go there again.

Very dissatisfied with their food lately!! I ordered ORANGE CHICKEN and MONGOLIAN BEEF. I know that the orange chiken it is spicy but what i recieved it was inedible, was chili flakes with some chiken, to to much chili flakes! And mongolian beef i couldn't find the beef, where mostly vegetables!!! I started ordering from different Chinese around the area and i recieved better food!!

I have only ordered delivery and can highly recommend the food and quickness of delivery. The orange chicken is great. Definitely try the fried potstickers! The broccoli and beef is a family fav as is the fried rice.

Placed order number 8434-2450 on 02/01/emailed about three issues (short piece of straight hair in Teriyaki Beef with mushroom, Mongolian beef with an odd smell, and their size portion - container size change). Dinner cost $121.44 and the containers are not as deep. Everyone wants to make money, but doesn’t want to provide good quality food with decent portions. Sent an email on website. Still waiting for response. Called the evening of placed and picked up order 02/01, and called the day after 02/02 and was told the Manager/person in charge is not available.

02/05 no emails or calls returned. No one is able to assist in restaurant.

02/10 no reply to email

02/21 Twenty days later - reply back from Owners Assistant (customer service at it’s finest)

Resolution: if you made a complaint before regarding an entree/dish then you have no right to make a complaint about the odd smell in your mongolian beef, or the hair in your teriyaki beef with mushroom. The chefs who cook the food are honestly a hit or a miss. There are times when the food has a lot of flavor, and days where you have no idea what you’re chewing on. This is a restaurant in the neighborhood and we have been going to it since the real Jess opened the cafe. (Her food, her personality, her customer service was top notch. We had zero complaints!) Sadly we give this place a chance once in a blue moon, and this is the outcome. Restaurants these days should consider themselves lucky to have customers. Your customers make the restaurant, and without your customers you’ll twiddle your thumbs and loose out. No matter what the opinion is, it’s never ok to have hair in a dish, and question what the heck you are chewing. New owner seems to be ok with charging the customer an arm and a leg, but it’s not OK to accept a complaint. Save yourself the hassle and choose the restaurant Li Hing across the street on Belmont, closer to Menard.

We enjoyed the beef fried rice lunch specials. I loved the won tons.

2023: Delicious Thai chicken hot plate and yu shan chicken. Decent Mongolian chicken.

2023 the bad: pad Thai (it used to be my favorite pad Thai in the city but the recipe changed during Covid). Lemon grass chicken (same - used to be divine. Last few times I’ve gotten it have been bland.)

2020: The orange chicken is good, not too sweet. I prefer the general tso chicken, also delicious and not too sweet. The chicken fried rice is also great, not greasy.

I highly highly recommend the crab ragoons they’re mega stuffed which isn’t all that common in restaurants anymore and I was very much pleased 🤤 the shrimp lo mein was also hands down one of the best noodles I’ve come across in a hot minute. And their fresh smoothies with popping boba truly topped it all off. For sure coming again and found my new go to Asian restaurant 🤍

We ordered crab Rangoon, orange chicken w/shrimp fried rice & Malaysian style seafood. When we received our delivery the crab Rangoon were cold, the orange chicken salty and the shrimp fried rice burnt. I have had issues before with missing rice with my order. This will be my last delivery order.

Tried this place for the first time. My go to place was Mee Mah. After many years the owners decided to retire and close. This place can’t compare at all. The food needs more flavor/spices. I ordered the Mongolian beef and the teriyaki chicken. The mogolian beef wasn’t spicy and was mushy. The teriyaki was plane and I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t all white meat chicken. The beef fried rice lacked any flavor at all. I had to put a lot of soy sauce to make it taste like anything. Over all disappointed. The only things good were the smoothie and egg rolls. Won’t be going back.

The best asian food on the NW side in my opinion. The dining in results are spectacular. You can tell they buy higher quality ingredients and there is someone actually cooking. As opposed to the "out of the prepared bucket" food you get at run of the mill Chinese restaurants. Staff is great too.
