Just a wonderful experience for a Sunday brunch. This appears to be a hidden gem because just about everything was outstandingl
Pros - Nicely varied menu, beautiful restaurant, friendly service, delicious food.
I always order the Penang Curry to evaluate a Thai restaurant. This was a very generously portioned curry with background heat, rich flavor, and a touch of sweetness. Large plump broccoli florets offset a lovely contrast with the reddish-pink hue of the curry. I ordered a side of brown rice, which was deliciously soft and slightly nutty. I ordered just the regular iced tea, but it was quite refreshing with clean flavor. And they offer free refills! I love the attention to detail with the delicately carved lemon slices. The silverware has a good weight to it with a beautiful bamboo pattern. They have very nice heavyweight plastic containers with tight fitting lids to take your extra food home, guaranteed not to spill.
.
Cons - I was given the choice of steamed or fried tofu, and I opted for the steamed, but unfortunately, my dish was served with the fried tofu. I mentioned this to the server who offered to make the correction, but I told her it was not a problem, and actually, the fried tofu was quite delicious! The prices tend to be on the high side, but I am sure this is to maintain their quality and reputation of being excellent thai cuisine. Plus the bonus of being able to take some home!
Ordered for delivery, which I know you can expect to get smaller portions, but for $20 for pad thai and they didn't even fill the container half way?! I could literally see the bottom of the container all the way around the noodles. Also, the noodles were so clumped together I could pick the entire thing up with my chopsticks (see photos) They were almost impossible to separate while I was eating them. We also ordered the pad see ew, and although the portion size was much more acceptable, they did not mix it well, the spice was all in one blob in the middle of the noodles. Very disappointed and I feel like I wasted my money
We were 6 and ordered all vegan food items.
The service needs to be improved especially the taking of orders. The lady who took our order was not taking orders properly. We ordered for one kind of drink and something else is brought. We mentioned for spice level 3 and we get sweet dishes. Ordered for 2 fresh rolls and got one. This made us wait for the food again and again. And even wait for the staff to come to our table to correct them.
We totally understand the staff shortage and we have patience to wait but taking wrong orders is something needs to be self taken care of.
The fried rice which was just sweet for an order of spice level 3.
Drunken noodles and fresh rolls were good.
Absolutely loved the mock meat from their house speciality menu. Pad phrink king is the one you need to take if you like spice.
The owner was sweet enough to make a non alcoholic Thai drink for us.
Overall food is good but for a table for 6 , having paid 18% service tax definitely needs to be improved.
I expected the sweet and sour chicken to be breaded and it wasn’t. The sauce also didn’t taste like a sweet and sour in my opinion compared to many other places i’ve tried here in the valley. The best part was the crab rangoons and the spring roles. They were very tasty, and if we decide to ever come back, it’ll be just for those two items.
All of the food we ordered was absolutely delicious. Extensive menu with lots of options. They include spice levels on the menu, and we found them accurate. Food was very flavorful and my beef was cooked to order. Large portions and an extensive dessert menu as well. Clean restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and our server was knowledgeable and personable.

1st time at this restaurant, it was FANTASTIC. My daughter and I really enjoy Thai food, her husband - not so much. Since he was working late, we brought the grandkids here (ages 8-14, plus a baby that did not eat) for dinner. Their first time to eat Thai. THEY LOVED IT AND WANT TO COME BACK!
The staff worked with the kids so well and made the evening special.
The food was all wonderful. We each got something different and then shared. The kids liked it all.
My wife loves Thai and was jealous that she was not with us. Will come back the next time we are in town.
The best in Boise. Friendly staff and great food. Recommend 100/10.
This is the best authentic Thai you’ll find in Boise Idaho.

Fantastic yellow curry.

Our 1st time here. It was delicious! I recommend the coconut fried rice!!
Great Thai food
For the amount of food, it is on the pricier end.
Not too much to write home about, it's okay. Everything was backed with too much sugar, so every bite was sweet.
We decided to try this restaurant tonight. We will be sticking to our regular favorite place. The beef in my curry dish tasted so weird and the texture was mushy. I couldn’t eat it. I added pineapple to my dish and got 4 pieces.
Yummy
I hope this is seen. I’ve always ordered pad Thai every month, but for the most few months the pad Thai has been off. I’ve stopped after the third time it has happened. It’s not as saucy and lacks flavor. They lack the iconic color! It’s bland noodles. What happened?? New chef? Lack of ingredients? I am too scared to order pad Thai again so I’ve been ordering something else. And I’m not the only one. My brothers say the same thing. Pad Thai is our comfort food, but not whatever it has been lately. I just hope the owners see this and become aware. I love this restaurant. 😥
Delicious, authentic food! Beautiful decorations! The curries are AMAZING!
Yummy food, friendly service
Gross! Not thaifood. I assume they are Asian people riding the thaifood wave. But as a Thai, this IS NOT Thaifood. Would never eat there again and I suggest you don't either
Good food. Papaya salad, Pad Thai, they don't have the Thai tea with Irish creme anymore, curry was good. Thaitini and key lime mixed drinks were good
Good service, even with the sign that said be patient with the wait staff.
Portions have shrunk by HALF though. Still good food!
this place is amazing
Everything was delicious and the best drunken noodles I’ve ever had
Friends took us here, locals know sll the good spots. Everything was do yummy. Thanks
Absolutely the best Thai food I've had! So delicious and very kind helpful beautiful staff
Best pnang curry in the valley!
Best experience ever!!! The employees are amazing, the atmosphere was phenomenal, and the food was divine! I cannot wait to come back and I appreciate how kind the environment was, thank you so much!!! :)
You can't go wrong with Sa-Wad-Dee if you like thai food. Best I have found in the valley.
Staff was friendly and food was amazing!!!!!
Best pad Thai I have ever eaten. The Thai ice tea is great as well. Just the perfect lunch special.first time at restaurant.
Good God that food was amazing! Warning: very hot is VERY HOT. Absolutely get the rangoons and for sure get the Pad Thai (can vouch for shrimp). This is a future “immediately yes”
The atmosphere is cozy, service was very attentive, presentation of the food was impressive and absolutely delicious.
We have stopped by on other occasions but always quite busy, now I know why. I haven't been that impressed with a restaurant in a very long time.
I will be going back they captured the true flavor of pad Thai!
We tried three dishes and a Thai ice tea and were disappointed with all of them. This place is way overpriced and significantly under delivers. I don’t know how they can charge that much for bad food with pretty small portions for Thai food standards. I went in feeling for some Tom Kha and left with a little food poisoning. Flies were all over the place inside. Flavors were not very good. The presentation was decent, but I don’t really care about that if the food isn’t good. 5 bucks for Thai ice tea that tastes like sugar syrup is a waste, just buy a can if your feeling for it, it won’t taste all that great but it will be cheaper. I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants and this was the least bang for your buck.
I loved my lunch meal, and I was so pleased my server was nice and attentive to me. This was my first time, and I’ll be back.
Argh! I wish I had discovered this place earlier. It's shockingly great. Took me straight to flavortown
We were 6 and ordered all vegan food items.

their pad thai is my favorite out of all the places i've tried. also, if you're going to order for pickup, do it through their website as prices are cheaper than on uber eats.
So delicious! Every time we order from here it’s always good.
Tonight I placed an online order at sa wad dee in Meridian after reading positive reviews here on the group. I drove to pick up my food, when I arrived they said they had not received my order even though I placed it an hour 15 minutes in advance. I showed them my email with the order number and details and text message confirming pick up time.
I was told the calamari I had ordered online was out of unavailable. They asked me to show them how I ordered the food and I pulled up Google, clicked the online order link and placed my order.
I was then asked to see my credit card charge as well, which I obliged. I asked at this point if I could just be refunded as I had my wife and kids in the car and with their food we bought elsewhere. I was told there was nothing they could do and that I would need to look up someone to reach out to, to get a refund.
They then asked if I would like to place a new order for something else... Which I declined.
I can't review sa wah dee's food but I can not recommend them or their online ordering tool based on my experience. I can say that if a restaurant brokers a relationship with a online ordering provider and their customer, they should be able to support it in the form of being able to provide a refund and/or remove items that are out of stock. If they cannot provide basic support they should not offer online ordering.
Celebrating a birthday with friends, we had a great time.
The food was covered in way too much sauce. The food had too much sauce and hardly any meat, the salad had too much sauce. I was not impressed
Excellent experience, the food was all delicious! The "shrimp in the mud" is a new favorite, and the cream cheese wonton appetizer was so good!
Wonderful service. Waiter knew the food and was able to describe several dishes to us. Gordon Ramsey would have been proud. Only criticism I would have was the duck would have tasted better if the skin had been cooked crispy. We will definitely be back. The pineapple rice was out of this world good! Update, we came back for the Duck....still not crispy. Perhaps the owner can check his reviews.....
New to the area and my first thai spot in Idaho!
I found the Hostess warm and welcoming😊
Food is very fresh! It has that light clean feel of food that is cooked from fresh ingredients! Crispy flowers are a delicate perfection! For being a cream cheese wonton they are light and crispy! Green curry is a wonderfully complex combination of creamy, sweet and mild heat flavor that explodes in your mouth without being heavy at the same time. And the pad thai is among the best ive had. Tons of flavor and plenty of fresh ingredients with lime to balance the sweetness! This is def my new thai spot!
Ordered spring rolls for an appetizer. They came out rather quickly. The dinner however, took way too long. We ordered Salmon curry. The flavor of the dish was pretty amazing. Ordered a level 1 spice and it was almost too spicy to enjoy..
The inside needs maintenance upkeep in a lot of ways.
We were waiting for 15 minutes before a sever even came by to drop water off and take our order :/. The service is really lack lustre, staff looks confused, and it's really slow for food to come out.

It’s my go to place. Every time I visit the food and service are great. 👍
Awesum
I expected the sweet and sour chicken to be breaded and it wasn’t. The sauce also didn’t taste like a sweet and sour in my opinion compared to many other places i’ve tried here in the valley. The best part was the crab rangoons and the spring roles. They were very tasty, and if we decide to ever come back, it’ll be just for those two items.
I got the mango chicken, and it was great! Then for dessert, I had the sweet sticky rice with mango, and it was amazing!
After visiting Rice, which I believe belongs to the same network, I was looking forward to trying Sa Wa Dee. But honestly, it's not worth it. The food was pretty plain, and my lunch sized plate left me hungry.
This is my favorite restaurant ever been going here for a long long time
The service is always great
The food is always delicious
Food comes out fast hot and right everytime
I just came here for my birthday and I would do it every year
We have been looking for a good Thai place since moving to Nampa 3 years ago and we finally found it!! Everything we had was OUTSTANDING! We got the satay chicken, crispy spring rolls, Yellow Curry, Meat Lovers Hotplate and Thai pork fried rice. Everyone was extremely friendly, the service was quick, food came out hot and so tender, and the ambiance was so relaxing. I also got the Thai Tea-Tini for a drink and it was delicious (especially if you love Thai Iced Tea). We cannot wait to go back!
Usally when we go to this place the servers are very disrespectful or hard to communicate with. This valentines day we went and the items on the menu were extremely limited. After looking at the website and deciding what we wanted before hand it was disappointing to find that there was nothing close on the menu and limited choices. Not only that but the prices were extremely ridiculous for smaller portions of meals. We even called to see if we could order take out but there was no response.
Best Thai food around…
The cashew chicken was very good. The sauce was a fun addition to the rice. I really liked it.
I love this place, it’s so good. I crave it! My husband and I’s favorite Thai food! The food is always delicious and I love how they’ll make it super spicy if I ask for it that way.
Try the Red Curry
This is my family's go-to thai place, the food is great and you get a good amount for the price. I LOVE the yellow curry so much I could eat it every day, we have enjoyed every dish we've tried so far. I'm leaving a review because the customer service we experienced tonight was amazing! I placed an order for pickup but got held up at work and was unable to get there before they closed. They held it anyway until we could pick it up. Thank goodness because we were starving! Love this place!
A great place to go with your family!
I made an order for Take-Out and was told it would take 15-20 minutes for my order. I waited in the lobby for over an hour before I received my meal with no update from the staff throughout my wait. There were customers seated after I made my order that received their meal before me. The food is great and I understand staffing issues but the lack of communication was frustrating.
Second time in. This time it was carryout. Ordered the Eggplant Basil and it was delicious. They even rushed my order because I told them I was taking a break from doing DoorDash and wanted to get back to work quickly. Sat in the parking lot and ate every last bit of it. Generous portion, really fresh, and the intense flavor I've come to expect from high quality Thai food. First time in I had the green curry. Next time I'll try the Pad Thai. A couple of friends recommended this place to me, and they each have special dietary needs (vegan, gf). Plenty of vegetarian options since most dishes can be made with tofu. Just ask if the dish has fish sauce or shrimp paste if those don't work for you.
They have a really nice Pad Thai.
Excellent thai food and service
I write this review in hopes that the restaurant addresses this because the food was a waste of money.
Maybe was an off night for the kitchen and I am totally willing to try the restaurant again but with a bit more caution.
Our to go order was chicken friend rice, orange chicken, and chicken pad Thai.
Unfortunately the fried rice was so bland that I had to throw it in a pan and season it up with whatever Asian spices and sauces I had at home.
My grandmother ordered orange chicken, which I thought was a funny dish for a Thai restaurant and turned out to be a bowl of slop. It went straight into the garbage disposal.
The pad Thai was alright. Nothing special but nothing bad at the same time.
They did handle my order well. Helped me right when I came in and got me out of the door pretty fast.
Looked like a comfortable atmosphere to have a dinner with friends or family.
Best of luck to the restaurant. I hope they taste their food and ask themselves “would I pay $15 for this?”
Great food the Pad Thai was wonderful, I like more bean sprouts so I will ask next time. I went with a friend and we sat and talked and ate then talk and talked. We got 2 iced coffees each. They never pressured us to leave and were so gracious. It’s also my vegetarian son’s favorite restaurant too.
They do not carry sushi anymore.
Best Thai I've had, and as good as when I went to Thailand.
We arrived at 4pm this afternoon and were promptly seated. I did notice a sign at the front that said they were short staffed and to please be patient. About fifteen minutes later a staff member came to our table took our drink order (along with the rest of our order since we knew what we wanted). At 4:55pm we still didn’t have anything, not even the tea or appetizer and noticed that three other tables that were filled after we had arrived already had their main dishes. I found the one that took our order and their first question upon seeing me up from my table seeking help was to ask, “Oh, are you ready for your bill?” This was immediately followed with a glance at our table and confusion on their face as they likely noticed that we had no dishes and my silverware was still wrapped in its napkin. I mentioned that I saw the notice about short shafting but also mentioned the others that came after us that had their food. Then the expression I saw was slight panic and was told that they would inquire immediately. A few minutes later we were told that our order was being escalated to “911” (and still no tea). Then a cook came out from the kitchen and told us our ticket had been lost and it would take a good 30 minutes to get it ready. The cook asked if we still wanted it. My husband was pretty disappointed by this point so he told the cook to cancel the order. The cook looked relieved, agreed, and took off for the kitchen. We got up from our table and went out with no further interaction by the staff.
Quaint little restaurant; loved the vibe and decorations. The Chicken Pad Thai w/ shrimp was delicious and packaged well(to-go order), it came in reusable microwavable dish. Im one who likes spice and definitely recommend the lvl 3 to see what you can tolerate. Not too hot but still left you with a great kick and full of flavor. Hostest was warm, welcoming and helpful. Id never eaten here before and she seemed to know her menu well. I will definitely be coming back. Sorry no pix l, I ate it too fast.
Everything I've tried here is amazing! Favorite go to's are Salmon in the Jungle, Khao Soi noodles, Sesame Lovers, and spring rolls. Hubby loves the Pad Thai too.
I have been a customer for years. They have the best thai noodle dishes in town.
Always a great experience!
my colleagues and I will never support this business again, there are plenty of other Thai Restaurants in Treasure Valley.
Ordered pickup. The food was decent enough. The hot plate dish had good garlic flavor but no heat as requested. I was surprised at the serving size of each entree, which seemed out of line with the price paid. It felt like we got lunch servings for dinner price..For us, there are other Thai establishments that provide better flavor and value for our money.
Pretty good
I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and dumplings to-go. The wait time was an hour and a half (won’t be ordering takeout again). I had selected to be notified when the order was ready which never happened. Parking isn’t the best either, but my food was ready and given to me as soon as I walked in and asked. The food was still warm. The dumplings were good and the curry was amazing! The meal was $30. I will definitely be going again, just not ordering takeout.
Loved it, very filling, drunken noodles and cashew spicy beef. Very delicious
Best Thai food in Boise.
I love genuinely authentic restaurants. They were all so kind and so helpful as our meal was being prepared. I just wrote this Resturant on my calendar for my birthday dinner this month- it’s THAT good.
What in the ever loving god happened to y'all's pad Thai
It used to be good and now it's the worst shot I have ever tasted. For 18.99 it was not worth the two cents in my pocket.
Lunch for 2 was 50 bucks!!!! Wait time for the food was long. Service was great. Presentation of the food was awesome. Food was fresh and hot. I just didn’t care for the flavor of the pineapple fried rice. Never had pineapple fried rice that had yellow curry and I’m not a fan of curry at all. Pad see ew was mediocre. Meh…..
I'll admit that I'm not well versed when it comes to Thia food but what I did have was fantastic and the service was even better.
First time here at friend's suggestion. Had Thai chicken & veggies. So good. Everyone friendly, fast service for 4, reasonably priced. Definitely going back!
I always enjoy my food here!
Amazing Thai food! The flavors are always amazing. I've always liked everything I've ordered here, but especially the curries. I highly recommend Sa-Wad-Dee!
Great service and great food! Will be back
The food was so good! I ended up ordering again to take it home for later! Serving size was good and worth the price. Service was very fast, polite, and friendly. I can’t wait to go back.
Love this Thai restaurant! Great prices and everything is fresh and delicious from the delicious appetizers to the entrees! Definitely authentic Thai flavor. Our favorite Thai restaurant in Boise, so far.
Overcharged for the meal I eat every week - nasty front desk and it seems they can't keep employees- very disappointed in the service - apparently the customer isn't right 😒
Ordered a level 2 spice and was perfect. Would recommend
Ate here in the mid afternoon and we were the only table there. Space was very clean and staff hospitable. Quite possibly the best Thai food we’ve had in the Boise area. Very fresh and amazing flavor.
Best Thai place in town!
Very good food! Panang curry is addictive, fresh rolls were great! Very courteous and prompt service.
Ordered from Uber asked for peanut sauce charged me $5.00 not acceptable was small portions cost me $42.00 total rip off will never order again!!!! I had pad Thai and crab Rangoon. Small portions!
I love this place, their food is amazing! But I am being repeatedly disappointed in how spicy they make their food. There is no consistency in the spicy level and I ordered a spicy level 2 today but it feels like a 4-5. And this is not the first time that it happened either. Starving and can't eat my food that I paid for. Please consider a way to keep the spicy level consistent among your cooks.
My favorite Thai! Great food at great prices! Vegan options!
It was okay.
We went there for our anniversary. 49 years. Always like this restaurant. Food was great, heat was just where we wanted it. We’re there around 3, Caught the specials. The staff was wonderful. Ate on the patio. The staff was always checking on us. Had a great visit with the server. Will be going back. Been there several times, no complaints on food or service.
I'm going to say it was not a lot of food for the price.
Walked in to pick up my to go order and received the worst customer service from this one woman. She was incredibly rude and expects big tips for no good service. Walked out super disappointed but was hoping the food would make up for it but the quality in the food has gone downhill significantly. Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had it was so dry I couldn’t even finish it. I will say my dogs enjoyed the under seasoned chicken. Next time I’ll just drive to Lamai thai for some real authentic food.
Used to like this place, but the last 3 times I’ve given them another shot in the last 2 years they do not fail to disappoint. Save your money, at this point you can close your eyes and walk out of the place and run into something much better. Their service, quality and flavor have drastically declined. For now on, I will be driving to the Nampa Blvd for a better experience. Never this place.
My Husband brought home Thai Food cause we were recently talking about trying new foods. Soooo glad he did. It was all seriously so delicious. He said the lady was so sweet & helpful on recommendations for what to order. We had the Chicken Pad-Thai, Yellow Chicken Currey, House Fried Rice, Pot Stickers. The portions are very generous & we've had multiple meals from the delicious order. Highly Recommend!!!
Fantastic food, great staff. You have to try the pineapple fried rice.
This is our favorite go-to for great food! We don't eat out at many places, but this one is worth trying if you haven't.
Our meal and drinks were fantastic! Perhaps one of the best Thai restaurants I've been too. Service was very friendly and pretty quick. Definitely recommended!
I ordered pad Thai initially, and it was extremely dry, nearly not edible. The flavor was really good, so we decided to go back again and ask for it to not be dry. I ordered again “more sauce,”, and a very nice woman returned my call and said we don’t do extra sauce, but I can make it more soupy. I went to order it again a few weeks later and asked for it more soupy/saucy (her words), and when I went to pick it up, not when I was checking out, a gentleman told me there would be an up-charge.
I explained to him I am not adding anything nor did it up charge me during my online order checkout. He proceeded to tell me, “You should’ve been up charge before!”
I left and didn’t get food and the receipt I received didn’t include different charges! A huge waste of time and still hungry! I do not recommend this place!
I am a major Thai food fan and know all of the Thai restaurants in the Treasure Valley. My wife and I have been going to Sa-Wad-Dee for years, because it's one of the best.
She always orders Pad Thai with zero spice. I order Pad Thai and everything else with "authentic" spice, meaning as hot as they will make it. The Pad Thai here is excellent, but my favorite dish is actually the Pad Prik King with shrimp. The Green Curry is also very good.
The food is consistently great! A go-to restaurant, for sure.
The proportions have been cut in half but the price has not. They have also made substitutions on quality ingredients and again… still full price. Another unpleasant discovery and another one bites the dust. How are we supposed to support our local economy when places treat us like trash?!?
Really great curry!
I asked for my order to be #5 on the spicy scale and they did not disappoint!
Delicious food! Best spring rolls in town! And the pad Thai was delish well! Will be back for sure! Can’t wait to try more!
As always, wonderful food and a great place to dine with the family.
I highly recommend the fresh rolls, and if you're a spicy fan like me, get your food a number 5 or higher.
Absolutely phenomenal experience! The food was amazing, great portions and so fresh! Our server, Derek, was so wonderful! He was very personable, he offered a ton of suggestions from the menu and the wine list. Will be back SOON!
I usually frequent a different thai restaurant in the area and gave Sa Wad Dee a try this time with my favorite, Pad Kra Pow. Good flavor, but $19 for 3.25 oz of chicken and 3 oz of vegetables floating in liquid after I weighed it out? I know food cost is high, but holy cow, not worth it! I'm never leaving my Chiang Mai again!
Enjoyed a Friday lunch. Not too busy around 1 pm. There was a decent selection of lunch pricing menu items. The portions were appropriate for a lunch menu. Friendly staff and quick service. The food was enjoyable. I ordered a dish with medium heat which was just right for someone who enjoys some spiciness without being uncomfortable.
Great if unassuming Thai food.
I loved eating Yummy Chicken with Cashew nut (Chef Recommendation) dish and I think one should try this if you want to eat less spicy meal.
Sweet. Sweet. Sweet. I think I have diabetes now. Our group had pad Thai, green curry, and another noddle dish and all super sweet. Not to mention the price for the portion. And $2 for instant coffee? And the overall cleanliness was subpar. Nope, won’t be returning.
Delicious Thai food made quickly and with care. I really appreciate the effort they make to respect customizations.
One of our favorite Thai restaurants, authentic, great service, great food , gets busy.
Best Thai restaurant in town, hands down. If you are looking for Thai cuisine, accept no substitutes.
Excellent
We tried the food here because it seemed to have a decent reputation. We were sorely disappointed. The phad Thai had less flavor then I am typically used to. The curry we ordered also had little flavor and the veggies in it looked low budget almost like they were out of a can or frozen. We won't be back.
It was alright.
The coconut soup is divine!!!
We had "shrimp in the mud"...
Excellent!!
Our waiter was personable, fun and attentive! 👍👍👍👍👍
Amazing Thai tea-tini! My boyfriend's black and blue martini was amazing also. I got the pad Thai with tofu and it was PERFECT! Just the right amount of sweet and peanut-y.
Ben is the best server ever! He’s kind, funny, professional and really knows his stuff! The food is amazing too and I could live on the mango sticky rice!!!
My favorite place. I love the Som Tum so much. I order it every time.
