Thai And Asian Cuisine
The food was good, and thoughtfully prepared. I did not like the fried noodles, but only because I did not know it would be sweet. The chef did a good job that just isn’t my kind of dish. Location and parking are terrible, but the restaurant itself is meticulously clean and well designed. Service was decent, but far from making you feel welcome. It was more like you would expect service to be at a fast food restaurant.
How Bangkok Chef has multiple locations is beyond me.. I’m half Thai and spent many years in Thailand, so I’ll admit I’m a harsh critic when it comes to Thai food. I’ve consistently been disappointed with Bangkok Chef. I keep trying to give the restaurant chances because I’m desperate. But every time, I’m reminded of why it is never my first choice. The food tastes like Chinese food, missing a lot of the authentic Thai taste and ingredients (or sometimes have added ingredients that don’t exist in the real dish - e.g. bean sprouts in Pad Kee Mao!? It’s not Beef Chow Fun..). For the price, I hope they try harder to learn from a real Thai chef.
This was really bad. My wife and I didn’t like our food at all this evening. It was apparent that we weren’t happy. My wife had two bites of her food and didn’t eat anymore. Tasted like cafeteria food… the server proceeded to bring us a check when our full plates were at the edge of the table. Didn’t ask if it was okay or offer any assistance. She was sweet but didn’t seem to take the hint.
Won’t be back.
It was busy tonight! I had the eggplant tofu, which was very good. A little too much Basil for me, but it was easy to pick around, and my husband ate it.
Service was good. Hostess / Server / Busses was very friendly.
The only issue with the Nimitz location is parking. We miss the one in Ewa Beach!
Love this place. The food is always good.
非常好吃~ 量很大,可以吃两顿

I just had the pleasure of trying Tom Kha Gai for the first time, and it was an absolute explosion of flavors that I savored with every spoonful. The rich, creamy coconut base perfectly balanced with the tangy zest of lime, the bright citrus notes of lemongrass, the warmth of galangal, and a subtle kick of chili made this Thai soup an instant favorite. I ordered from Bangkok Chef Nimitz in Honolulu, and they did not disappoint. The soup was fresh, aromatic, and delicious—definitely a dish I'll be craving again soon!
Decent Vietnamese and reasonable prices. Definitely would go again

Nice place

Great food, nice sized portions. Highly recommend.
Our family absolutely loves this place!! The food is always delicious, the restaurant is always clean, and the service is fast and friendly. Prices are very good too!
Great food. Good prices
It's Okay.
We go in, order without a menu, get fresh fantastic food, plenty of water and get our of there for $77 for four people.
Fresh and fast. Parking is not great, only a few spots for customers.
Super yummy, eco friendly restaurant!
Friendly service with excellent food at this price point. I had the beef pad Thai which was tender and properly spiced, noodles that were Al dente and served piping hot, fast. Definitely coming back next time craving Thai. The dining area is also clean and spacious with plenty of options for small or large parties. Please open a location downtown.
I was greeted by a rude front desk woman who not only forgot to include utensils for our lunch but also made me look stupid in front of other patrons cause she doesn't know what a water cup looks like. Food was good nonetheless
I went to this Bangkok Chef ~2yrs ago, and thought the Thai food was decent. Today, we happened to drive by and decided to get a take out— summer rolls, shrimp salad, and pad see ew. The summer roll had three tiny shrimp, lots of lettuce and noodle, no pork. The pad see ew tasted like Chinese fried noodle. The shrimp salad tasted bland and no hint of Thai flavor. This place has become a Chinese restaurant. None of the dishes had any taste of Thai food. I am very disappointed. If you are looking for Thai food, save yourself some time and go down the street, to Siam Garden Cafe instead!!!
The summer rolls. Yellow pork curry, chicken satay, and the mango ice cream on sticky rice- all fresh and delicious! Big portions too!

This has been my go-to place for years. Consisently Excellent & delicious food. I had my boyfriend's surprise birthday party here. They accommodated us in every way possible, including allowing separate checks.
Nice price and tasty.
We like the variety and taste of the food on the menu. This location is on the corner of Iwilei and North Nimitz Highway. The parking is bad. They have 3 dedicated stalls, and most of them were full, and nobody was in the restaurant . The same applies to parking spaces shared with other stores. Service was good and staff was friendly. Pad Thai, curries (especially green curry with chicken), Pad Sie Ew and Fried Rice are all good. We also get the summer and spring rolls often. We will be back again, but it may be for driveby takeout since parking is so bad. I just need a wheelman or an Uber to get me there. Yeah, I know I should just do takeout but I don't like those services.
I ordered the lemongrass chicken and rice and an order of spring rolls. I asked, if possible, to have the spring rolls come out first and the waitress said “sure”. Both plates came out at the same time almost 20 minutes after I sat down. She apologized and told me the kitchen “was so slow”. There was only 2 other tables who had already received their food. Priority seemed to have been with the Uber Eats and Door Dash deliveries. Onto the food….spring rolls were fresh, nicely wrapped, and the shrimp (although I’m assuming were previously frozen) were firm with a good texture. The lemongrass chicken had a good taste but REALLY over cooked. Nice portion but very dry and almost difficult to cut. The restaurant itself has a nice interior design but as some people mentioned in other reviews, the parking is horrible. The complex almost seems to have parking lot wars, where each unit has 3-4 assigned spots with signs. The Bangkok Chef “assigned” stalls were all taken so I parked in another “unit’s stall”. The place could use a good sweeping and the windows need to be cleaned. The young lady who runs the counter taking orders is also the server so you have to flag her down if you need anything. Overall, after having traveled to Thailand multiple times, I don’t feel like I was eating Thai food. I’ll give them another shot, try another dish, and adjust the stars if need be. First impression…meh! P.S. ask for the chili vinegar (picture shown)
Authentic Thailand food. Food Portions are good and delicious. Fast and Friendly Services.
Great fresh tasting food. Nice upscale casual atmosphere. Very happy we stopped before heading to the airport.
소고기쌀국수, 볶음밥,스프링롤 모두 맛있다. 팟타이가 먹다보니 살짝 짠게 아쉽지만 그럼에도 불구하고 맛있었다.
I got the #1 - maybe it was the wrong choice or the wrong day!. I saved the chicken and did a "fixer -upper," what Thai sauce is that (Tangy)
I couldn't tell the bean spouts from the noodles. Mushy!
I LOVE EVERYTHING from this place. I always order either the pad Thai or the pad si yu and the all veggie- pad ramit. My boss gets the chicken yellow curry. As I said, EVERYTHING is so tasty, savory, and Ono!!! Mahalo to you all at BANGKOK CHEF on Nimitz!!!
Their Pad Thai tasted off, like there was no peanut in the peanut sauce. No spice or real flavor. Just tasted like oil if that makes sense
Basil chicken is good And pad thai noodles
Waiter was super nice! Food came in about 11 minutes but that may be due to the fact that we were the last people there. Food was amazing! Especially the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp pad thai. 10/10 would definitely recommend to you all!
My favorite Bangkok Chef is the one in Nuuanu, but with covid, they don't allow people to dine in. This one does, and the food is still real good! Yummy, delicious, satisfying. Space is clean and open. Parking is abundant and area is accessible and easy to find...right on Nimitz Highway.
Good food take out is always ready in less than 15m price is not bad either. They keep not making it spicy when I order it hot. Other than that it's one of my frequent eats.
i make phone orders and there is never a wait
Fast friendly service. And delicious vegan options
Dislike the the foods I ordered bc it was too sweet! I didn't eat my food due to my diabetes!
Food is tasty & the people are friendly.
Good food. A little hard to park and I would order ahead for takeout or dine in.
Fire 🔥! Always on point, never a disappointment! Allll the Currys are bomb 💣! Cashew or basil chicken. SPRING ROLLS A must! Pad Thai so good!
Best shrimp parang ever! We eat it weekly. Great customer service. Thank you!
Spring Rolls order comes with 6 with mint leaves and lettuce. My daughter and I always order spring rolls and Penang Currey with pork and sticky rice. Yummy!!!!
Yummy food, quick service... I especially like the spring rolls.
First time enjoying the excellent food at Bangkok Chef and I found it very delicious, tasty and interesting variety of flavors. I especially enjoyed the "Yellow Chicken Curry" over Jasmin rice. A must try for sure.
I'd definitely refer my friends and family to Bangkok Chef. Thank you to the management and staff for the experience and my thanks to the "Chef!!"
Love the food here. Chicken wings and Pad Si Yu are my favorite.
Food was grinds w/more of a restaurant feel than Nu'uanu Ave location. Our waitress was so kind.
I don't know if this restaurant makes this style of food correctly ("authentic" 🙄) but I do know that the food this restaurant makes tastes very very good.
Great food, fast service. Favorites are the green curry and basil chicken with jasmine rice.
Unfriendly waitress. Menus no description. Not recommended.
Food was super good and Fresh as promised!
Yum.
Cacao Tapioca pudding- more please!
Fast service and delicious food!
Love their curry, but it is really spicy even though I have a spice tolerance. Next time I will get the mild.
Food is great, my favorite is the Yellow Chicken Curry with Sticky Rice, so when I'm craving it, it's my comfort food ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Service is awkward to me, in the sense I feel like I'm bothering them if I ask a question, impatient even when they are slow and not very friendly - doesn't seem to appreciate customers (observation when waiting for my order) flat affect, doesn't thank people for purchases which is odd for service industry. ⭐⭐
I had their chicken pad thai and it was hot, fast and yummy. I'd eat here again...
I ordered the pad see ew, thai hot. Not only was it not spicy, it also had no flavor.
Quick service snd gets it right everytime love yellow curry chkn w/ sticky rice and spring rolls
Freaking awesome. Try the fried rice.
Always great food. Variety of dishes and flavors. Good price to value ratio.
Really love there food.. delicious and serve hot
Delicious. Great service
Best thai curry in town!
Excellent! The dinner for 2 meal very good.
Loved it. The food was delicious. Nice choice s of hot, medium and not spicy.
Delicious food. Good tapioca pudding and veggie stir fry.
Fast service, food was spot on. Loved it soup was hot and spicy. Location was easy to find, Clean, and just what I was hoping for.
I ordered their version of pho😔, disappointed. Must bf e a new chef or change of recipe. Spring rolls and red curry chicken on the other hand were delicious.
The food was very bland.
Food is excellent but the wait for our food was over 30 minutes.
I love the food it's really good
Onolicious food and excellent customer service.
It came recommend . Good food les then friendly service
The food is great, and the service was most efficient!
Awesome Thai food. It's just down the street from the Iwilei Costco before you get to Nimitz on the left. The parking isn't too bad if you go off-hours. Everything we ordered was excellent: fresh, hot, and perfectly spiced. Even the drinks and desserts we ordered were great. The interior decor was very nice, as was the service.
Fast service and great tasting food! The process are fair too.
Food and ambiance is good. People aren't that great. Try tropical pudding.
Great Thai food right next too 5.11 tactical shop, Party City Lowe's and other retailer's.
Love this place....🤤🤤🤤 yum!
Came in to get dinner at 7pm on Sunday the server was EXTREMELY RUDE. She didn’t greet us threw our menus on the table and walked away then she came back and we told her we were ready to order and she rolled her eyes at us. I’ve never had a bad experience with Bangkok chef before I love the food it’s always delicious but I can’t believe how poorly we were treated I’m never coming to this location again. Very disappointed
Good please
Food is average. Worst chicken fried rice I've ever had. Customer service sucked. I'd take Thai Lao or Siam Garden over this any day.
Good food. Good prices. My fav Tom yum soup dav eat.
Tasty. Reasonable prices. Made spicy on demand.
Pad Ki Mao and Red Curry w/ Fish were a perfect pair of flavors. Friendly wait staff and very consistent quality makes Bangkok Chef one of our favorite Thai restaurants. Yum!
Spring rolls and fried chicken are fantastic. We are always happy with the food taste and quality. Large portions too.
I love their food! We get the same thing all the time and it never disappoints! I really wanna give it a bad rating so it doesn't get over crowded cause parking is very limited. When we do find parking we're in and out pretty quick cause their service is always fast. We go on our lunch break and never late for work. It's great. The customer service is okay, their just very quiet there I've never dealt with ordering or having to talk much since my sister knew exactly what to order and we never changed a thing since. Figured as long as the food is good and waiting times good then it's aaaall good.
Good food but I could care less for the customer service as they only cater to their own.
Don't come here if you're white. Very discriminatory and racist vibes. Particularly the older man, didnt catch his name. 1 star for good food (I guess).
Good food across the menu. Easy stop, just off the Nimitz. Plenty of parking.
Decent Thai food that isn't surprising one way or the other
So good!!! Nice staff 😊
Great Thai cooking in a clean and upscale restaurant. Quick, friendly, and consistent service with free parking in open lot. Great tofu Summer Rolls with savory peanut sauce. Willing to adjust to the diners' tastes/dietary needs.
We like their Thai food. You can order mild to spicy, depending on your preference. All of their selections are quite tasty. We enjoy their fried chicken wing and spring roll appetizers, Jasmine fried rice, yellow curry, and pad si you and mando salad dishes. Don't forget to order their sweet sticky rice with your dishes and they have a great mango sticky rice ice cream dessert
GREAT food, excellent service, lovely environment, moderate prices! Looking forward to my next visit!
Pretty good Thai food in a casual environment with reasonably priced, generous portions. The curries are good, and a spicy when requested. The sticky rice and Thai coffees and teas are excellent. This is not gourmet fare, but good. The Bankok Chef on Beretania near the University is much better than the one on Alakawa near Costco, in terms of both food and service.
Good
Is a good place for Thai food!
Great tasting food as always and good, fast service. Thanks.
Young lady got a little frustrated when I could not understand what she was saying.
On this visit I was disappointed in the delivery time of my food. Me and my had come into the restaurant before 2 other tables and we ordered before them also, but both if the tables had gotten their food before us! We kindly asked the waitress how long more our food would be and all she said was "it's coming" in a rude tone. She went back to the kitchen and again brought out more dishes to the other 2 tables and then...FINALLY our food came out! No apology from the waitress...nothing. Don't know if we wanna go back there again. Hopefully management will fix that problem.
We love going here and ordering our food to go. They are really fast and the food is always great.
Great service
I loved the food but not the hassle of the traffic or the parking lot.
I love Bangkok Chef but this location is consistently the worst in quality and customer service. Last time I'll go here.
The only thing I truly enjoy eating here is the Chicken Wings. So delicious! Anything else I'd prefer Siam Garden or Mai Lan Vietnam.
Very good food, nice dark atmosphere for a night meal.
