Energetic, informal watering hole offering a wide variety of drinks & Thai & Vietnamese dishes.
Solid dive bar. Food is great, we ordered pad thai twice, cucumber salad twice, fried dumplings once, chicken coconut soup once, and edamame once; the second order of pad thai I did not like as it was too runny and the chicken looked gross. No idea why though as the first time we ordered it, it was phenomenal. Everything else was fresh and flavorful through and through.
The service was great by one bartender, a pretty woman with long, brown hair but the rest of the service was fine - nothing to write home about but not bad by any measure. We stayed at a hotel near here for three nights and went back frequently. Pricing was good.
We had a great time with our friends visiting Boomey’s! Good drinks, friendly staff, a good crowd (including some gorgeous dogs!!) and great food!! Prices were great too!! Another thing I really liked was that it wasn’t too loud - you could easily have a conversation without yelling to hear each other!
Boomy’s is the place to go! Not only is everything reasonably priced, but the ambiance and crowd is extremely diverse in addition to the music! The Pho is top of the line, and will forever be my go to! Erin is/was our favorite waitress until she departed Boomy’s in 2024, however, Jamie definitely makes us equally feel at home, greets you right away, ready to serve you, is polite, and keeps her customers happy at every visit! Boomy’s has become more like family, and going back to 2019 for my Mom and I. We love everything from the food, to the atmosphere, to the hospitality and drinks! Every cent is worth it here. Love y’all.
Boomys will surprise you . It's definitely a dive bar but the food is good. They specialize in Thai and Vietnamese. Initially I thought I heard that wrong. They have great pho. That's the only item served in an actual dish. Everything else is in a to go box. The food is good the menu is available late. Good place to try
This is the best Thai food I've ever had!! We went there as part of a Halloween pub crawl, not even realizing they had food and came back at the end to eat before we went home.... Best decision ever.
It took awhile because it was a crazy night and we almost walked out, but we are SOOO glad we stayed and waited. It was orgasmic.... 😜😍, and to to it of, very reasonably priced!
Update: I'm bk at the end of April on a Friday and the post below was from early April. Daunte was a great bartender. Shouts out to Leah who served my husband on his initial visit and made sure we had good food this visit. They made up for the not so great 1st visit I had. On a side note, I love that they are really a family....
[Initial post]
Just a little disappointed.... I've been wanting to try this place for years but always run out of time when visiting Savannah. My husband ate here on a Saturday night and said it was the BEST pho he had in his life...I made it a priority to come on Sunday... let's say I didn't have to rush. My recommendation is to try Fri/Sat in hopes you had the experience he had
this place was okay but the bartender with a beard and tattoos was so rude and homophobic to me and my boyfriend. we walked in and ordered food to go and then he ignored us, even though we tipped him over 20%. after 30 minutes of waiting we asked about the status of our food and he rudely replied “it’s gonna be over 30 mins.. everyone here ordered food” literally after he gave 3 more straight couples their order. he was rude, aggressive, and disrespectful. will never come back or order from here again. literally go anywhere else.
Great place to grab food or drinks. Small venue overall but plenty of room usually. One of the favs.

Was told this is some of the best Thai in all of GA! Couldn’t have been more UNTRUE - chicken tasted fake - wasn’t that seasoned well - just hot. Plus we can take away - was how late they were open!
Will be back good vibez ,,,
Terrible customer service. Don’t order food from here to go . Made me wait 20 minutes just to tell me the food didn’t even get started yet .

This place had the most boring flavorless food, they were out of everything. And everything is served in styrofoam. The place SMELLED horrible upon walking in and we were the first people in for the day. It’s shocking to me how or why local businesses don’t give a shit about the cleanliness of the local environment. I’ve been a local here now for 5 years and the wastefulness of the local businesses continues to shock me. I will not ever fraternize this place again. And, if as my server you just throw everything away, it will be reflected in any tip I leave.
upgrading my previous review because the bartenders are pros
This is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Me and my sisters were verbally and physically assaulted by a group of men & women tonight. The male bartender decided to take their side, proceeding to say “they’re not gonna leave.” Respect is due to a dog. I will never suggest this bar to anyone. The only reason I’m giving them a start is because you can’t leave a review without one.
This is a dive bar. The waitress’ shirt said “Hot Mess.” and I agree. She was rude and short with us. This is not a place for Pho or Vietnamese. Keep walking.
The food was great, kitchen open late.

Another thing I really liked was that it wasn’t too loud - you could easily have a conversation without yelling to hear each other!
Nice relaxed vibe.
One of the best bars I have been to in a long time they serve great Thai food along with American and have games to play in the back

Went here last night for drinks with a friend and the drinks were incredible, much less expensive than other bars, and the service was great! The bar tender, Bailey was sooo sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend!
I bought a drink and was forced to pay a 10 dollar minimum to use a card. Thus wasn't posted anywhere visible. She pointed at the signs after the fact but they were all covered by Halloween string lights.
My choice was to drink more or pay the difference.
Just a heads up to anyone stopping for a single drink.
Vince is the man
Great bar for a good time!! Bartender and wait staff were friendly.
Next time in Savannah, stop in!
Great place to enjoy yourself when downtown Savannah!!! Catch a football game. Have a drink or two. Most definitely try the food!!!
Great place to hang out and kick back
The Thai food is dope. Vince is a great bartender, his character is ony outmatched by his skill.
I need to apologize because I can't remember my waiter's name Jimmy or similar (tattoos and glasses) he was very pleasant and helpful with the menu. Loved the food and can't wait to come back.
Drunken noodles were great
Stopped by because were we going to different spot it said open at 1pm it was 1:30 and they said “come back”??? Who does that!! So with luck w stopped Bloomys, fun place but surprised as were from northern Idaho and bars aren’t Asian cuisine….we ordered the burger it’s was awesome! Oct 10,2024 visit our bartender-server did it all as it got busy she was still on point. Would recommend
It was pretty dead. It was Tuesday so I'm not surprised. I didn't try the food so I can't judge them for that. The bartender seemed kind of annoyed because I didn't know what I wanted right away.
First time. Just went to for one drink and appetizer. Got the spare ribs. They were ok. But it's definitely a cool place. Think it's more of a nighttime bar
This might be a cool local dive bar but the food quality is questionable as is the cleanliness of the restaurant. I would not recommend this place to tourists. The place has negative vibes. I didn't think Chicken Pad Thai could be messed up but apparently I was wrong.
First time and last time never gonna come back here
And it took more than 1 hour to wait for food
Boomy’s is the place to go! Not only is everything reasonably priced, but the ambiance and crowd is extremely diverse in addition to the music! The Pho is top of the line, and will forever be my go to! Best pho I've ever had! The food is the hidden gem in the establishment. When we come to Savannah this is where we prefer to hang out the most for drinks, football amd food. All the staff and the chef were very nice, attentive and willing to provide insight on best places in the city. Buy a Boomy's shirt made from Savannah's own NineLine. Can't rave about Boomy's enough.....they have it all!
Great local feeling bar with absolutely great Thai food. Odd combo for an establishment but it works. Great staff, very friendly. Lots of tv’s for all sports watching
I was too busy inhaling my very tasty food once it arrived to take a picture. The drunken noodles is hands down the best I ever had! The coconut milk sauce was to die for. I had mine with seafood mix which made it all the more tastier! Put it this way, I’m going right back there in a few days to get the same exact thing before I leave Savannah! Also recommend the chicken satay and the tasty veggie mix that it comes with. This place is loud on the weekend nights as it’s also a bar so just take note.
I’ve been hearing about Boomy’s since I started working downtown a couple years ago. Can’t believe tonight was the first night checking it out. Hubby was home sick and I got off work late and we were both craving some Thai…tough reality on a Monday night in Savannah, but then I remembered BOOMY’S! I popped in, LOVED the atmosphere (divey but Clean), bartender was awesome and music was great. Ordered takeout and sipped a Cider. Got home and could not have been happier! We’re on the islands, so the wings and fries needed a moment in the air fryer (and then they were perfect!), the Thai shrimp and Chicken Satay were fantastic and drunken noodles were incredible! I’ll definitely be going for a higher level spice, but everything was quality! Really appreciate the perfect, friendly service from the bartender and fantastic takeout from the kitchen. Have spent more to get much less just about anywhere in town. Found a new GO-TO for sure!
Best friend rice ever
The girl with blonde straight hair is rude! Immediately gave us dirty looks when we entered. Here's your tip - If you hate your job, quit.
If you come here for food, then it’s a bad choice. None of the food here taste good. Not even authentic but weird adaptation from Asia.
Like having a few here
I called for query for my Uber eats order the customer care representative was hyper rude never gonna order and visit these place
Espresso martinis were great!
Do yourself a favor and order the sesame noodles. Unreal! Open late. So good.
Place rocks
We had recently lost a phone here and the workers couldn’t do ANYTHING. They wouldn’t even let us see the camera footage and it was horrendous. The food was mediocre at best, service was good. Although, the experience here is not it.
Had a large to-go order. One of the dishes had a long strand of hair in it. Instantly put me off, threw the rest away.
Bailey is the best bartender ever.
the thai food probably tastes authentic if you’re plastered. tasted as if the sauce was ketchup, mustard, and A1 steak sauce. similar to an inmate concoction in state pen.. i can say the veggie dumplings were good but both of the entrees were less than mid. never had bad thai food or had to leave without finishing a meal…but this was bad. overall feels like a waste of $50 considering now i have to go pay to eat dinner again somewhere else
edit: i guess your staff are perfect and can’t have an off night. it’s clear by this response and every other response to bad experiences that you can’t admit that mistakes are possible. wonder how far that’s gotten you in your personal life…
The food was very good I enjoyed it. The music was way too loud for the early evening. There wasn't anyone in there and it was a restaurant we don't need the music so loud. The waiter was goated we love him. Would come back.
Great food. Good bar selection. Only have it a bit lower due to atmosphere a little rough. Glass door to enter is taped together. Over all dive bar but great food. Will definitely go back. all of the appetizer choices are excellent. Everything is brought out in to go boxes except pho'
Don’t let the fact that this place is a bar fool you; the food is AMAZING!!! I feel bad I didn’t take a picture, but when the food arrived we all just dug in because of how good it smelled and looked. Great flavor and the right amount of heat. Our server was attentive, prompt and friendly. I am recommending this place to everyone I know coming to Savannah. Also, I need to mention that the prices for food and drink were very reasonable and portions were big. Also, I got the Drunken Noodles and Duck Spring Rolls, perfection!!!
I go here for the Drunken Noodles. They are sooooo good!
Best Thai food we’ve had in a while. Unassuming, but you can’t go wrong with this place. Great drinks too. Our bartender Vince gave us perfect food recommendations. Hidden gem in Savannah.
The best pho you'll ever have.
Stopped in this weekend while on a mini vacation. We were not sure what to expect when we first walked in as we had only glanced at the menu and not the location photos. The menu listings were in line with Thai and similar offerings but the space had more of an open pub feel. My wife and I love both types of places and felt right at home. Happy to say the food was outstanding and service was very quick. I strongly recommend you try the Thai fried shrimp and the Pad Thai. Both were flavor packed and delicious. Can't wait to make it back up to Savannah and try more of the menu!
The only reason it does have five stars is because nothing exciting happened. But the food was authentic and there was plenty of it. Rose the bartender was also very friendly and easy to talk to.
The burger was good but do not get Thai food here, it was disgusting. The bar and atmosphere is what’s makes this place.
Surprisingly delicious.
Great service and great Asian food and pho
Outdoor karaoke is awesome!! We had a great time
Fun spot to grab drinks and great Asian food! Got the sesame noodles with beef and it was great! Great pho too! Good(sizable) portions! Definitely will return upon visiting Savannah again!
Awesome bartenders day and night and delcious pho and food! Love this place. Thai food is good and so are the wings!
Drunken noodles awesome

Very unique place worth a visit. At first glance this is a dive bar on a good day. The decor is old, the tables are sticky, and every table and chair wobbles more than my grandma when I hide her cane.
The service was friendly but extremely slow and all food and drink were served in plastic cups and styrofoam take out containers because who cares about the turtles anyway, right?
Speaking of the food, it was surprisingly, shockingly, amazing. Never would I have thought that I could find such amazing Thai food in such a place.
I would definitely recommend visiting for the food alone. Just don't expect anything fancy.
I knew their Thai food was great, had no clue they had burgers until I came in last night and was pleasantly surprised! All of our food was absolutely delicious, I didn't catch the name of the guy who took our order, but he was incredibly friendly and provided great service! Will be back soon.
Went on Wenesday April 3rd, 2024 with some friends visiting Savannah. Never had a better burger or service at 12am anywhere. Highly recommend.
My wife and I were craving Thai food and the only place open was Boomy's so we headed there. Finding parking was a bit hard, but we finally found a metered space on the other side of the restaurant. My wife was a little leery because it was a bar not a restaurant. Still we went in and ordered food. My wife ordered Pad Thai and I chose Drunken Noodles. We asked for the dishes to be mild spice-wise since neither of us can handle the heat. The dishes still had a bit of heat, but both were delicious and plentiful so we ended up eating half and taking the rest home. The bar tender was nice and attentive to our needs and tastes. I would recommend the place for the food.
Little to no service. Espresso martini was good. Atmosphere was ghetto bar. Short ribs so tough you could barely eat them. Food served in to go containers at your table. Asian dive bar in Savannah of that’s your thing.
Great place and atmosphere.
If you are black this probably isn’t the best place for you. We were cussed out and called us out of our name. We were the only black people in there. Then they tell us to leave but said we can’t leave from the front like a regular person but we have to leave through the back. You can just tell we weren’t the type of people they wanted in their vicinity.
A classic American dive bar. Full of locals which is always a good sign and a good selection of beers and a fantastic selection of bourbons. The service here was excellent and kudos to Baylee, who ran the full bar by herself the entire time and stayed on top of everything including serving large groups of drunken tourists walking through the door at random times.
What definitely surprised me, is the quality of food at this dive bar. Randomly, it's a complete Thai menu and based on how many takeout orders I watched, it's extremely well received by locals. I ended up ordering a Thai rice dish and it was outstanding. If you love a good dive bar and you're in the neighbourhood, this is a welcome break from the rest of the touristy bars in the neighbourhood.
Our bartender was so nice! She was lovely! We were there during the day, didn't eat food. Local place but friendly
Music was on point.
Best bar food in Savannah!
Eh. Went in for late night bite to eat, and door man/bouncer shook down a friend of mine for $40 to let in one lady with the group of us 8 who did not have her ID with her. 40 year old lady with our group that were all well over minimum drinking age.
I'd be OK if he wouldn't have allowed her in without her ID, and we all would have selected another establishment to spend our money with. However, pressuring someone in our group to give him a bribe is totally unacceptable. I learned of it after the fact.
Service was ok, but no IPA beer available at all. The drink I selected as my second choice was incorrect, and I had to get that corrected by my own volician.
Food selection was limited to almost solely Thai choices, which seemed odd for an American pub & grill. The food seemed to taste ok, but by the next morning, I had dysentery.
Not too surprising after thinking about the cleanliness of the establishment to be far from acceptable.
Maybe just one bad night for them? But there were enough issues that I won't give them another chance.
The shrimp were amazing. I’m a savannahian so it’s difficult to impress me. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ 5 hearts.
Some of the worst service I’ve experienced. We literally sat down and the server acted as if she didn’t see us. Then we sat at the nearly empty bar and the bartender was acting as if we weren’t there. When I went up to her to confront her, she stated “oh I didn’t see you guys move over here”. It’s like they make it blatantly obvious that they don’t want to serve black customers. Even after finally getting served, the bartender was horrible. She after dropping off a drink she avoided coming over to us the whole time.
Doesn’t feel friendly or welcoming for black crowd or people! They walk by you and act like they don’t want to serve you but to influence you leaving like your not wanted!
Get the drunk noodles. Omg best tai food I’ve ever had. I don’t even like tai food. Amazing
We come visit every year and y’all are our first stop! We love the atmosphere, the staff is so friendly and attentive, and I look forward to their shrimp fried rice for a year until we come back!
Stopped here twice the last week. Panang Chicken was delicious. Drunken noodles of if this world. Both dishes I was only going to eat half. So good I ate the whole meal. Maybe the best Thai food I've ever had.
Hole in the wall that is outstanding, Nostalgic Downtown Savannah!
If you’re looking for a good bar in town, this is one of the best options. Drinks are really good, specially the nerd slushee, my favorite! I didn’t know they sell food but I’m glad I found out because it’s super tasty, they serve thai food and it’s a good portion, most of the time I get leftovers. Great place for watching football games, they have different tv screens and they tried to put all the games. Staff is very friendly, the only thing I don’t find good about this, service time is long, food usually takes a while to come out.
The server stole a 10.00 tip from card! Be careful with Apple Pay!
It is one of the best local bars in Savannah.
Its a bar but the food is great. Also only one person working (bartender) so take service rating with a grain of salt (it was 2 am).
This place is definitely a new go to for me. Took my fiance here for her birthday and even though they were crowded we got excellent and fast service on our food and drinks. Not to mention probably one of the best Curry I've ever had state side.
Curry wasn't too tasty.
Omigoodness. The kick you get with a three is astounding. Cashew shrimp stir fry is amazing. The creamy sauce is wonderful, but this kick. This kick is scary and great, only scary cause I want to try a five. But, I can't. I'm just going to be quite happy with this lovely light inferno.
Tara and the staff is very unfriendly. Dozens of better bars to go to to spend your hard earned money at in Savannah.
Edit: based on Boomys reply, I can see where Tara gets her rude attitude from.
Always a good time at Boomys
The food from this place was a 5/5. That was not the problem. We experienced by far the worse server I have ever encountered at a restaurant. She came to our table and asked what we wanted to drink. I said a water and before my partner could even open his mouth she said "2 waters" and walked away. When she came back to take our order, I ordered something with tofu and she asked if we wanted steamed or fried. I asked what she recommended and she went on about how we should order meat instead. I've never had anyone make passive aggressive comments to me about eating a vegetarian option. Then when she asked for the spice level, 1-6 I asked of 3 was "normal" spicy or Thai spicy. She got smart with me and said, well 3 is in the middle of 1-6 so it's in the middle. I can't do her rudeness or attitude justice in writing, but it was so bad we got our food to go. It's such a shame because the pad thai and the drunken noodles were so good. If we ever go back, it will be take out only.
You wouldn't expect to find Thai food, and REALLY GOOD, Thai, in a place that, for all intents and purposes, you would think was just a typical bar like so many others in a historic city that is a tourist destination. Boomys is a jewel in the crown of a renowned city! I had the Drunken Noodles (HTX) and they didn't disappoint! Will be a place to visit again just to chill, eat and watch sports, while enjoying the company of both friends and strangers alike.
The food has no business being this good.
Stopped in to watch the Eagles game on the way to Florida. Had a great time. Our meal was very good.
Best bar we went to while visiting Savannah
Was told this was the best Thai and Pho in Savannah and was misled.
Food has no flavor, seemed microwaved and the service was mediocre at best
Save your money and go to another restaurant
Chillin place, also kinda chillin atmosphere i come here around 1am to get something to eat cause hungry. The bartender (or server idk sorry) are friendly tho. And such a big bow of Phở, i have a Phở combination and couldn’t finish it, it’s not bad but i okay, little salty to me and not really have a smell like real Phở abit.. but still good. Will back and try sth else again
We got blamed by the waitress for contributing to the ongoing failure of the tables, which was odd. I hadn't been there in quite a while, food was pretty mediocre, place is kinda old beer sticky all over.
Amazing ❤️🎉
Worst service ever. 2 times I asked for water. Both times I was ignored while my friends whom I was setting with and ordered food had no problems. Great way to discriminate.
Everything about Boomys is great, we found out they had pho and we just had to try it and let me say it didn’t disappoint. Great place to either start or end the night.
My wife and I asked around for a place that was still open for food. A few locals mentioned this place. We walked down and went inside. It was packed but we got a table. We ordered cocktails and asked the server what she liked on the menu. It was seriously the best thai food I've ever had. Particularly because it was the first time I've eaten Thai food. Seriously though the food was so good. My wife liked hers too and she's picky. I couldn't tell you what we ordered but it was a spicy noodle plate with shrimp. My wife got some other noodle, spring roll, and chicken I think.
We didn't eat anything. We just stopped by for a couple of drinks. The service was ok.
Tasty Thai food!
Great late night service! And their kitchen is open late. Bartenders were fast and friendly.
Sweet dive bar with decent whiskey and ramen
What’s not to like?
Came in and ordered a 6 piece wing waited almost an hour for my food and watch several people come in after me and order food and get theirs before me. I asked several times how long for the food and was told three separate times that it was about to be ready when it never was when I asked for a refund the guy I spoke to was very rude and stated he was a manager. His name was CASEY. He was very rude and disrespectful he should not be a manager and treat someone the way he did all we wanted was a refund after waiting an hour on 6 wings the place wasn’t even busy
This place is a cool bar however, I don’t recommend coming here for “authentic” Thai food.
I wasn’t expecting to find a place past midnight that serves anything besides pub snacks or fast food- and here is PHO at 12:30 am! And really good pho too!
The pho: I forgot to stir it all together, and accidentally had ALL the hot sauce part in my first spoonful 🥵 lol- but other than that- fantastic, the beef was tender and tasty and the “medium rare” texture that (I think?) is the way Pho is suppose to be
The duck egg rolls: so good
The drink: smooth and strong than expected whiskey sour in a plastic cup. (I was told the plastic cup is so you can walk out with it- not a problem in downtown Savannah, but unexpected as I’m coming from Boston (and many other places I’d imagine) that don’t let you just walk out with alcohol onto the street.
Not exactly authentic, but has good flavor. Interesting how everything is served in to go containers.
The food was good, but it was hard to eat dinner out of to go containers. The place was a very local dive bar, very loud music with very loud patrons. No respect for the environment with all the throw away containers.
Great food and service!
Great food and awesome drinks
Classic barandgrill. Happening place.
Sometimes great live music. Great location.
This is a great local spot for enjoying good Thai food. If you’re looking to escape the touristy vibe in grand style, give this place a visit.
Shockingly good Asian food. Pad Tai is incredible.
This is an eclectic cool place. All American bar with Vietnamese and Thai food and excellent, might I add. I went twice in one day, for lunch (chicken pho) and then late night (chicken pho again and 2 cocktails). The pho is some of the best i ever had! The flavors hit on all cylinders. The bartender was very fun and cool and made great drinks. The patrons were fun too. Made my visit to savannah even more awesome. Definitely check this place out. I'll come here every time I visit!
I had my reserves about going here as it seemed more like a bar and not a bar my friends usually go to. But I was surprised one night when I did go here. The pho was some of the best I've ever had, not only in savannah, but, ever. Go here and try the food even if logic is telling you not to.
Best server ever is Marj. The best Thai food I’ve ever eaten. It’s dive bar dining at its best.
The pho was a bit too salty.
The beef ribs, taste was just like Korean ribs. The best beef ribs i had in US.
Good food at a low key bar open late
Nice bar with a fair beer selection. Excellent service from the bar staff.
The Thai food is really good. Especially if you've been downtown drinking and you want non-traditional bar food. Where else could you go for drunk Thai food??
I can't imagine going to Savannah and not going to Boomys
Great service the waitress was awesome food was really good
Drunken noodled hit the spot
The curry bowl was great the nerd
Drink were different but taste i had a green tea which the bartender love and i see why good combo with Jamison overall a very cool dive bar kind of feel waitress name was lea
Edit** - I went back and it was EVEN BETTER THAN I REMEMBERED. I swear I'm taking everyone who visits Sav to this place
Dive with a kitchen that has no business being in a bar like this, and yet here we are. An outrageously delicious, satisfying, and fulfilling bowl of pho with rare steak, delivered by a wonderfully cheerful bartender, in the closest thing to an old pirate tavern I could imagine. I absolutely loved it, the bowl was piping hot and fragrant, the noodles thicker than is common but taste fresh and crisp. You cannot do wrong if pho is what you crave.
Very good drinks not too rowdy we had a good time. The GA peach drink is amazing!!
The server was great! Service was a little slow but the food was very good. The place is small so if you want to eat get there early to get a table. I loved the bourbon list.
