Banana Leaf Thai and Sushi in Midtown delivers authentic Thai cuisine. Highlights include flavorful chicken satay, crispy vegetable spring rolls, rich Panang curry, and perfectly spiced drunken noodles. The larb gai is also recommended. Don't miss the smoked old fashioned and classic Thai iced tea. Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere make Banana Leaf a top choice for Thai food in Atlanta.
Another great restaurant that serves Thai cuisine. Delicious food with great ambiance but at a higher price point. Their serving size is average, but it's a bit towards the expensive side. The presentation of dishes is amazing. We ordered PadThai, Basil Thai fried rice, angry fish, green curry with shrimp, Spricy shrimps with vegetables, shrimp tempura sushi, and spring rolls.
It is important to note that if you make a reservation, they will ask for a credit card and will charge $30 for a no-show. This was something new and have never experienced before. We went there on a Friday evening without reservation but they were able to accommodate our party of 8.
This was another restaurant I tried at a fairly recent food festival and liked what they had. Figured I'd stop by and give them a try in person. Beautiful interior and atmosphere in this restaurant. Digging the flowery vibe it's giving off. Location is nice, right in a plaza with Kroger and other locations and free parking on a paved lot.
As for the restaurant itself, we enjoyed everything we had. Thai Wings for appetizers was good. Sweet and tangy flavor to it if you're into that. Cucumber Lemonade frozen cocktail also absolutely banging. Thai Iced Tea on point. 2 bowls of curry (Panang and Massaman) both good but not the best I've had. Be careful on spice if you can't take the heat as even the mild has a lil kick to it. Didn't get any dessert this visit as I didn't see anything I thought I'd like. All in all, it pretty decent food, drinks were the highlight though. Quick side addition. They also provide hand sanitizer right on the tables in the restaurant. Nice little touch that I don't see many other restaurants do.
My only real complaint was our server. She was nice but not attentive enough. Took longer than necessary to get our order in. Once we got our food and drinks, she didn't come check on the table again for quite some time. Seemed to be much more interested in having conversation with her co-workers. That's cool and all but don't forget that you're working as well. It would be a much better visit for guests if their server was more attentive to them. Maybe try to be a bit more regular with that and this could be a pretty top tier Thai restaurant. Might be back to try more of the menu but may get it to go so I don't lose too much time. Give these folks a try if Thai food is your thing though!
After reading numerous glowing reviews on Google, I eagerly anticipated dining at this Thai restaurant. However, my experience fell short of expectations. Despite a prompt greeting upon arrival, I waited 10 minutes before receiving assistance from the female server, even though only two occupied tables. Although my order arrived promptly, the server failed to check on my satisfaction. While enjoying my meal, I noticed her swift attention to other arriving customers. Furthermore, my Pad Thai tasted mediocre, with the noodles clumped together. Overall, I've had better experiences elsewhere within the neighborhood.
The food was just okay, nothing to write home about. The service, however was painfully slow. My fiance and I were one of the first of the night to arrive and still took 30 minutes for our appetizer, then another 30 for 4 sushi roles. Thankfully, I had good company but was planning to order another round until I realized it would almost definitely make us late to a concert, I ended up placing a to go order for the taco joint next door.
I visited Banana leaf Friday night. Historically I never cared for Thai food. Never had a high opinion of it until I visited this place. The atmosphere is really cool, energetic, good energy and very clean restaurant perfect for a Friday night date night ! The customer service was A+, they keep your drinks filled without asking for refill. The food was EXCELLENT, I cleaned my plate and didn’t take a breath. Our waiter asked if we were ready for the bill, he then went over our bill to make sure it was correct. IT GETS BETTER, this place is so AFFORDABLE, we ate good , good Sake. Bill was only like $76 I was prepared to pay much more than that, I made sure I tipped very well. THIS PLACE GETS AN A+, we will be back soon !
Dry, flavorless, stale. Save your money.
The food is authentic ❤️
This place is soo good! I totally recommend it! Servers really attentive and food was delicious!

I love this place. Authentic and detailed
The best thing is their food quality and that they remember us and our preferences every time. Excellent‼️
The gingerine lacked ginger. The summer rolls had small shrimp which was unusual. The drunken noodle was good and different, loved the veggies. Be cautious, kids Shirley temples are $4 each-no refill on the soda.
Amazing restaurant, great food, wonderful staff!
Amazing food and service. We will definitely come back again soon.
Absolutely disappointing experience, we ordered spring rolls and edamame. Spring rolls were overcooked. I ordered the Angry fish, which was excessively salty, tasteless, bland, and overpriced. The server provided a dessert fork, stating that it was the only type of fork available, and certain menu items were 86. The server's demeanor was very rude and unprofessional. Overall, it was a horrific experience.
We come here at least once a week. The food is fabulous and service is great. Jobi makes great cocktails. I highly recommend!! We live it!
My second time there, the food was so good the first time, I had to come back! They never disappoint! :)

This place is the best thing I’ve ever had
Always perfection. Service, food, cocktails and ambiance. A true favorite of ours. We partial to curries but all menu items we've tried are supurb.
Restaurant environment is calming and very pleasant. Service is very nice. Food was great.
This restaurant has their holiday hrs posted on the window saying they're open til 10pm on Sundays. We checked this before walking in. A few mins after 9pm last night we went in and sat down at the bar to be told they were closed. When we said the hrs posted on the window said 10pm she looked at us confused and all she said was oh.
we went here on a whim and were absolutely AMAZED!! the service was fantastic, the drinks were delicious, and the food was out of this world. that coconut cake will be living rent-free in my head forever probably.
I went there for my graduation dinner last night with 10 people and the service was amazing! They were quick, kind, and even gave me a complimentary cake! I will definitely be going there again!
We loved the food! The flavors were rich and authentic. We had some of our favorites like Massaman Curry, which did not disappoint… and their Thai Iced Tea! ❤️ I have a lot of allergies and their menu made it very easy for me to make choices to avoid many of my triggers. What couldn’t be avoided, they were willing to take out, where possible. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. The only thing that we would have changed was the music. It didn’t have to be from Thailand…just something more neutral; however, we aren’t from that area, so we figured they might be catering to the local crowd since they are also a bar. It wouldn’t stop us from coming back at all!
Enjoyed dinner here with my daughters. Nam Sod was ordered spicy and it was very flavorful. Daughters ordered pad Thai and sushi, both were happy with their orders. We'll be back in the future.
Great find! Food was excellent. Both Thai and sushi dishes were on point during a busy Friday night.
Food was amazing and jobi was an excellent bartender well knowledgeable on the menu and he had great customer service.
The food was so delicious and the people were so nice
Excellent! Best Thai in Atlanta!
Excellent, authentic Thai food. Great atmosphere snd efficient, friendly wait staff.
Great service and great food! Definitely the best Thai food in Sandy springs .
Excellent Thai food, very clean. People are super nice and offer a Great service!
Highly recommended 😎
I absolutely love this place. Great service, even better food, and the best ambience.
I ordered the Tom Yum fried rice to goand it was awful. The rice was cooked to soft, it had no taste and did not look appealing in container. It appeared liked it was haphazardly put in container. I also ordered avocado maki shushi and was missing pieces. I would not recommend and wouldn't be back
Please pay your employees salary. They are asking for additional tips from customers even after i paid. Tipping is not mandatory if you cannot afford please think about something else.
My husband and I came in for the first time. He ordered Pad Thai and the Spider Man roll. I ordered Massaman curry. My food came out a little too hot for me and they quickly took it back and fixed it! The authentic flavors and there! So delicious! The green tea was even delightful!
The food and service were awesome
Food is great...but food is high as giraffe tail...nickel and dime you for everything...even dipping sauces.
Host was great and very nice.
Love the food and service there. My new favorite place!!

I’m giving 4 stars because there’s always room for improvement. Buttttt…..the food is amazing and flavorful. Everything is made from scratch and fresh! The service was prompt, and the atmosphere was quant and quiet. We dined at about 5pm on a Thursday. We will deff be eating here more often!
Delicious Thai food!
Great experience overall. Good service and they care about quality of the food.
Great thai place, good service!
Papaya Salad is soooo good!

OK so a mixed review. I don’t eat fried food because it’s so unhealthy but that doesn’t mean you don’t. So if you eat fried food try the Fish with Three Flavors with the sauce on the side and you’ll be in heaven. When I saw the description saying “crispy” I thought it might be grilled or broiled but I could have asked. But the promise of three flavors was in fact three flavors mixed into one sauce and thus only one sort of sweet and sour sauce. Another reason for only 3 stars is that the salmon dish had the exact same sauce and was not as flavorful or the salmon at La Madeleine for half the price.
Went with friends from work and everyone loved their food
It was great. The staff were amazing. The flavors were diverse. Me and my family wanted to try sushi. It was delicious. The experience was phenomenal. If you want great Thai food this place is for you.
Amazing food! My kids lived it as well.i would say easy the best thai food in town!
I had never heard of Banana Leaf Thai Sushi Restaurant and Bar until our friends suggested this place for dinner. Definitely a hidden gem (at least hidden to me). The food was very tasty, service was wonderful and of course the time with our friends was priceless. Definitely check them out if you haven't been!
Lychee martini is fabulous. I like the Pad See Ew.
Hands down the best Thai I’ve had since visiting Thailand 🇹🇭
Great service, atmosphere and friendly staff!
- Uncle Nearest Old Fashioned 🥃
- Polar Bear Sushi 🍣
- Roti Keow Wan 🫓
What great service! OMG our server was Angel and was spectacular! She really made our day. This was our first time here so she explained the menu which she knew very well and then made suggestions that were spot on for our palette that day. We will be back for sure. You should stop searching for a place to eat and drop Banana Leaf Thai Sushi in your GPS. Enjoy!!!
The food is soooo good you won’t be disappointed. My server Nan was absolutely amazing, perfect in every way; will definitely come back
I had heard a lot about this place so finally decided to give it a try ! It was totally worth it. Being a vegetarian, I usually don’t expect a lot of options, however, they had curated the menu to cater vegetarians as well and there wasn’t any compromise on the taste as well.
Portion size is decent for one person but not for two people to share, so it comes out a little pricey but totally worth the price !
The ambiance is also very cheerful and definitely a cozy romantic vibe.
This place was bustling with action and the music was festive. We were able to get in without a reservation which was great. We were seated right away out on the patio. Everything tasted fantastic. The service did seem very slow but everyone was nice and polite. This is the type of place where you just come and relax. You take your time enjoying the food & company. I had a
tofu veggie plate which was very delicious that came with rice. The Thai iced milk tea is great too. If you are a spice lover, this place is for you.
I love this place so much!!
My wife and I came here for dinner tonight and overall it was okay. We had the Thai dumplings and Gyoza dumplings to start and both were really good and packed full of flavor. For main course, we spilt the chicken pad Thai and yellow dragon sushi roll. The pad Thai was good but certainly not the best I’ve had. Unfortunately the sushi was not very good at all, it was not fresh and the roll itself was incredibly small. Also, they brought an empty ramekin with the sushi, but nothing to put in it. There was no soy sauce on the table. I’ve had better sushi at Whole Foods to be honest. The service and atmosphere were great and made up for the few negatives. I would consider coming back again, but definitely not for sushi.
I absolute LOVEE this restaurant!! The staff is so welcoming and the food is delicious. Our waiter Nan was so funny and sweet! Would definitely recommend!!
Love this place. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. My favorite is the Drunken Noodles!
went here for a bday dinner, didn't know the place closed at 9 (our fault for not checking)-- the food came out super fast and service was great!
I don't think it was the BEST Thai food I've had- especially in Georgia. The food was VERY mild so if you like spicy food this place prob isn't for you (even if you ask for it spicy / or the spicy chili oil).
went as a family of 5, ordered 2 beers, 4 entrees, and 2 apps for around $150 including tip.
Amazing Shrimp Panang Curry. Requested spicy…it was delicious.
4 of us came here for lunch on Saturday, pretty hungry since we didn’t eat breakfast & just walked an art & craft festival. This place did not disappoint. In fact it was a hit. Ordered the Nam Tok beef & roti with flatbread as appetizers. The Nam Tok was 1 of the best I’ve had, great portion. The green curry dipping sauce had great flavors. But not enough roti bread - 1 piece cut into 4 was not adequate. We ordered 4 lunch entrees, 2 were curries, 1 noodle, 1 stir fried. All 4 were overfilled with intense flavors, just like authentic Thai food. 2 thumbs up for sure!
Great food, although it was a bit more than I had planned on spending for lunch. They have a great patio. I plan on coming back for dinner sometime.
Great food especially the Thai dishes. It’s not too sweet as often Thai food tends to be. The service is very good. Nice atmosphere.
Great sushi and great service. Gotta try the softshell crab roll.

Amazing food! Went there on a date for Valentine's and everything was great.
The foods are excellent but the service is exceptional. It has one of the nicest ambiences!
i have been to this restaurant several times and the service and the quality of the food has been nothing but the best!!!
the waitresses are always friendly and the service is amazing
the food is always fresh and delicious!!
the place is always clean and inviting
if you want some of the best thai food in the city , this is the place
I did have a great time with my friends. Everything was delicious so the drinks 🍸 😋 I definitely recommend 👌 ☺️
I walked in with a friend and my PTSD Service Dog about 5:30 pm. There were five other customers, one at the bar and four in the dining room. I was told to go to the patio. It was cold outside. I said that I would prefer a booth so that my dog could sit under the table against the wall. I was directed to a 2 top behind the booths! I simply gave my Service Dog the instructions “under” and we sat down at the booth. The Server was not happy, but I told her that my dog had the right , by Federal law to be in any place that the public could sit in the establishment. I ordered Siam Beef. It was delicious, seasoned predominantly with black pepper and a small portion of red chilies . I ate about 1/2 of the portion, which was sufficient for a large man. In about half an hour after leaving the restaurant, I developed an intense headache, which was followed by seven hours of vomiting! I made two calls to my physicians private line, that goes directly to him without any gate-keepers. Finally I had to take to take a Promethazine HCl suppository since all other oral anti nausea medication was promptly thrown up. Truly, I don’t know the cause of the reaction to the food, by then I talked to the manager the next day, by telephone, and asked him to check the storage temperature of and stored containers in his cooler, he told me a lie. No restaurant has health inspections every other day, nor does any automated system measure the temperatures of every container in the cooler hourly! I would have been satisfied with a sincere apology for the two gaffes in service, but was only given untruthful excuses….
Unfortunately, after having a very delicious meal, we were not permitted to use a debit card without a chip. There was no reason why they couldn’t accept it beyond the server was incapable of swiping the card correctly, allowing the strip to engage with the card reader. The frustrating part is that we have been to this place before and used the same method of payment. The manner in which it was addressed was less than professional, less than hospitable…I will definitely not be back to this place nor would I recommend it to others.
Delicious...that's all I will say...you have to try it 😉
Nice place to eat and try something different.
Restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Service is top notch and the food is excellent, large helpings and all made from scratch with fresh raw ingredients. Very impressed and will visit again.
I ordered the Thai Tanic and it really sank! My fish was extremely hard to chew and cut through with a knife. It had the texture of chicken or beef. Red Snapper is not a tough fish. Everyone else at the table is from the Caribbean and is pretty familiar with red snapper as it is a staple in thier cuisine. They also agreed that my dish was not the correct texture. I bought it to the waitresses attention and she ignored my issue. I could not eat my food. And when she collected Everyone else's dishes, she just left mine in front of me. So I had to sit there with a plate full of food that wasn't edible. I even captured a video of myself attempting to cut through my fish and failing. My friends shrimp was also rubbery. I will never recommend this place or come back.
First, the service is excellent. It took my friend and I awhile to determine what we wanted and our server came by 2 or 3 times to take our order before we could make a decision.
The restaurant lighting is quite low, so if you have older eyes, ensure you have your phone so you can illuminate the menu.
The restaurant could be quite intimate, but the tables are pretty close together. You hear your neighbors'conversations even if you don't want to.
The food is delicious. I started with the Tom Yum soup with chicken, which was so good that I wanted it as a main course. My main course was a beef dish. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the dish. Note to self: Remember that mildly spicy Thai food - real Thai food - is plenty spicy. I made the mistake of asking the chef to make my mildly spicy food medium spicy. I like spicy food, but this dish came out pretty damn hot (Scoville-wise, not temperature-wise) - and it normally had hot peppers in it, too, in addition to the extra spice I ordered. Wooo!! My eyes were watering!
Prices were relatively normal for a dinner out in Sandy Springs, although I thought a little high for the amount of food you got. I would have preferred brown rice over white rice, but I want going to play a $5 upcharge for a small bowl of rice. With the tip and no alcohol (only water), my bill came to almost $40 and I was still hungry when I got home.
Although I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and most of the ambiance, I don't think I'll rush to go back. The value just wasn't there for me.
I’ve got a case of the runs. I knew I was doomed when I saw sushi(Japanese dish) on a Thai restaurant’s menu. The food was tasty, but the runs are probably a sign that I got food poisoning there.
I go out of my way to eat here
One of the food items tasted like detergent and had to replaced, others were fine. Ambience is that of a casual restaurant. A 20% gratuity is already included but a tip is sneakily still requested.
This restaurant has it all: outstanding food, atmosphere, and service. Amazing experience across the board.
I’m Chinese and I moved to the US in 2017. I had been to Thailand many times when I was in China. After I moved to this country, I spent 2 years in NYC and 4 years in Connecticut - I had tried my fair share of Thai restaurants and got scared of going, because they were just super underwhelming. I moved to Atlanta very recently and found Banana Leaf by accident today - and OMG! This is the BEST Thai restaurant I have ever tried in the US!!! You are missing out if you don’t come and try! Full flavor, the real Thai experience!!!
Tina was great. Super friendly.
Got the drunken noodles and bankookian chicken dish and it was amazing 100% will be coming back. Great spice level too.
After many years of searching for a good vegetarian Thai restaurant...we finally found one!
The best Thai food in Atlanta Georgia hands down
Beautiful restaurant, environment, and decorations. The service was top tier, our waiter was very kind and helpful. The food was amazing as well!
Best Thai restaurant in the area! The food is always consistent and delicious. The service is always top notch. They remember us always and already know our preferences, definitely cater to us each and every time. Wonderful people who work there. Such a pleasure to see the same faces every time we come in. Highly recommend!
The food was both delicious and beautiful
"I recently dined at Banana leaf , and while the food was decent, I must say that I found the prices to be quite steep. On a positive note, the dishes that I ordered were flavorful and well-presented. However, considering the price tag, I would have expected a higher level of quality. The portion sizes were average, and I didn't feel that I got my money's worth. In my opinion, the restaurant is overpriced for what it offers. I would give it a 3/5 rating, with points deducted for the high prices. If you're looking for good Thai food and are willing to pay a premium, this restaurant may be worth checking out. However, if you're on a tight budget, there are likely better options available."
If you're a vegetarian and looking for a restaurant that offers delicious and authentic Thai cuisine, Banana Leaf Thai Restaurant and Bar is definitely worth checking out. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment, and I must say my experience as a vegetarian was exceptional.
First and foremost, the staff at Banana Leaf Thai were incredibly accommodating to my dietary needs. They were happy to provide me with recommendations for vegetarian dishes and even customized some menu items to suit my preferences. Their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction was truly appreciated.
Now let's talk about the food. As a lover of Thai cuisine, I have to say that Banana Leaf Thai did not disappoint. I ordered several vegetarian dishes, including the tofu pad Thai and the green curry with vegetables. Each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The use of fresh ingredients and traditional Thai spices elevated the flavors and made for an unforgettable dining experience.
In addition to the delicious food and accommodating staff, the atmosphere at Banana Leaf Thai was also top-notch. The restaurant was cozy and inviting, with a warm and welcoming ambiance that made me feel right at home. The bar area was also a nice touch, and I enjoyed trying some of their signature cocktails.
Overall, I would highly recommend Banana Leaf Thai Restaurant and Bar to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. As a vegetarian, I felt well-catered for and was impressed by the quality and variety of vegetarian dishes on offer. With its delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive staff, Banana Leaf Thai is a must-visit for any Thai food enthusiast.
Sandy Springs does it again. This is one of the best restaurant experiences that I have had in the Atlanta perimeter. The service was fantastic and the food was BEYOND delicious. Thank you so much for the great meal ❤️
First time @ the Banana Leaf in Sandy Springs, Ga and YOU have to go! The service we received was so amazing. The ambiance is very welcoming. Authentic family owed Thai restaurant food - AMAZING. Don't forget the dessert too! The staff obviously cares about your experience. Thank you for our amazing experience.
There were a number of dishes ordered. And the only thing I liked was the banana fritters. The other people in my group mostly liked what they ordered. They would give the food a higher rating. I give it one star. The Nam Tok was undercooked. I sent it back to get it cooked well done and it came back chewy like lamb. For these prices I expect much better quality food. The pad Thai was too sweet with no flavor. The fish with 3 flavors was also too sweet even after ordering it hot. The Thai Tanic was too crispy and I didn't like the sauce. The sauce in the salmon cha cha cha was decent. But I don't like salmon. I won't be back. There are too many better Thai places around.
This place was absolutely delicious & probably my most favorite Thai in town PERIOD. Service was great & food came out hot & full of flavors 😍😍😍😍 I’d highly recommend
Staff is not cooperative and quite rude when placing an order over the phone. When specifically requested mild curry and fried rice - got extremely Thai spicy food. Also overpriced for the quantity and quality of food for take out.
Upscale Thai dining . Loved this place
The Basil Fried Rice with Chicken is to die for.
Excellent food and amazing service. We came here on Saturday afternoon for lunch and really enjoyed our meal. It hit the spot. We got soups and calamari as the appetiser. Both were okay, but the mains were outstanding. I definitely recommend the spicy noodles. Phir Keing which was flavourful and just right. We ordered medium spicy and it was a lot… so watch out for those levels. The quantity was also just right. We finished everything we ordered, which was brilliant. Also got desert which was a fried cheesecake and I would not recommend it. Too much stawberry sause and it was cold from inside.
I stopped by for lunch to grab a quick bite to eat. The happy hour specials on the door caught my attention. They have bottomless mimosas from 12-4pm Tu-Fri.
As I walked in the server told me I can sit wherever I wanted. She was the only person serving at the time, but she did a really good job! There were maybe 6 tables of people in the restaurant.
I started with a Thai tea as I browsed the menu. I didn't want anything to filling so I went with the Veggie Gyoza and the Thai Wings. The Gyoza was a little different. I wish they had Gyoza with meat. The wings were very juicy and flavorful.
I will be back to try other items.
Best Thai food I’ve ever had. Get the coconut soup as an appetizer. The pad see is better than the pad thai.
Food was not to our taste, and expensive to boot. We will not be back.
Best thai food in the whole area!
AMAZING food!! The absolute best Thai food in Atlanta. The Thai Basil Fried Rice, Thai Iced Tea, and Penang Curry are our favorite orders. Definitely come here for quality, delicious food!
Very good flavors and great service. Cocktails were good as well.
If we are in the area and want to grab Thai food, this would be our choice.
Great menu with lots of variety. When they say Thai Hot, they mean it ! 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
walked in, and walked right back out.... the amount of scented candles is insane and the toxic smell of the chemicals made me instantly sick.
Incredibly tasty food, amazing service, and calming atmosphere - I can't get enough of this place! They have great vegan options and the food is nice and spicy!
My favorite is the basil fried rice with tofu. The gyoza is a great starter and super flavorful.
Great atmosphere for a relaxing meal with friends or a significant other 🇹🇭
Amazing food and nice stuff!!! Can't wait to come back here again.
Underwhelming food and service! Prices are higher than average! Wouldn't bother coming here
The best tasting Thai food I've ever had
This place is my go to Thai Restaurant. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. I love the fried fish! The taro mochi in coconut milk is to die for. Place is very clean and well maintained. 100% recommend this restaurant!
Excellent food!! We tried the Massaman Curry, Chicken Satay, Spring Rolls and a few others everything was delicious! Great service, lovely atmosphere!
Had a party of 17 people and everyone LOVED their food!!!
This place exceeded my expectation! The food was well presented, delicious and the service was excellent. The prices are suitable for the food and service.
Great food. Somewhat pricey compared to cheapest competition. Worth the cost though.
Perfect first visit. Will definitely come back. Service was so fast and friendly. I loved the decor, including the Halloween decorations. I had 2 people stop and ask what my cocktail was because it was so pretty.
Tom Karr soup was excellent. Had a sweet and spicy curry that was amazing.
