Serving Traditional Thai and Sushi in Atlanta, GA. Rain Thai and Sushi Bar founded by a couple of restaurateur. These individuals had many years of restaurants experience from Thailand. Ranging from 5 stars hotel chefs to an individual who was raised on a farm that had mastered many natural ingredients while at a young age.
Decent place with great Atmosphere. Food was decent but not to the level of expectations that I thought offf. Based on the reviews , went there with high expectations but was satisfied only to a limit. Loved the Dumplings , especially the sauce was tasty. Also, the rice with Mango desert was yummy. Main course was down side to my expectation.
They serve wine, Beer etc
Amazing food and service ..! Not many Thai restaurants match the spice level we ask for but these guys do .. we asked for as spicy as possible and they made it the right way… massaman curry was just delicious and Hawaiian fried rice was amazing ..! Service was nice and quick..! Friendly staff.
This place is great for Sushi lovers. We ordered cucumber avocado roll, tempura sushi and noodles with Tofu and vegetables. Both the sushi we ordered were good but the noodles lacked taste something was off about it.
We had a quick dinner and left.
Probably will come back for vegetarian Sushi...
I’m often weary of Asian fusion restaurants that service sushi and another Asian cuisine, but Rain Thai and Sushi Bar does a solid job of both. I was motivated to try Rain after seeing Eater Atlanta name them as one of the 15 essential Thai restaurants in the city. It did not disappoint!
The space itself is nice, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. Food comes out at the perfect pace.
Highlights of the menu are the Curry Puffs, Crispy Vegetable Rolls and Panang Gyoza. All of the sushi I’ve tried has been fresh and well made. I love the Two Tower Sushi Roll and the Spider Roll.
There’s plenty of free parking and never a wait. It’s the perfect spot to grab a good meal.
I’ve tried a good portion of their sushi rolls and other entrees over several visits and *every single dish* is a winner. My favorites include the coconut shrimp, panang dumplings, Wild Cat roll, and their special crab fried rice—but everything is seriously so good. Great service, great ambiance, and rarely full (though it should be). Highly recommend
this restaurant is amazing. service was great i wish i got the server name. beef jerky top tier. me and my family tried multiple dish from the menu and nothin disappointed. i had the pineapple hawaiian bowl and it was just so good. the gyozu was perfect. wings so good. crab ragoon good. basil fried rice good. even the water was good. im so happy i came here everything was perfect for my brother’s birthday.
Good offerings for vegans

Please come back home, Ling! It’s NOT been the same without you! 😭
Food was hot and delicious! Met my expectations
Food is good but on (literally) 100% of take out orders they have been more than 30 minutes late from the time stated.
Good
Amazing food...
Always nice!
You can"t beat the service you get from Kaitlin and Corey! So attentive and my drinks are never empty! Love the Thai fried rice and everything else I've tried. One of my go to restaurants!
I absolutely love coming to sit at the bar with Kaitlin and Corey ! Amazing service and food ! I look forward to seeing them weekly . Truly the best service in town !
Great, great, great, but the prices are getting higher.
This place was fantastic. The food was delicious, well-priced, and in great portions. The menu was large and had a lot of variety. The service was quick and friendly. A lot of people here seemed to be regulars and I totally understand why and will be gladly joining them.
Delicious flavorful meals. Glad we stopped by.
Bad customer service. Been there couple times and the customer service remain the same which was rude as usual. I would rather go to Thaicoon or Sri Thai for the same food but better customer service.
Great food and service. I've eaten both Thai dishes and sushi here and recommend them both. The green curry is my personal favorite Thai dish and the Atlanta Sushi Roll is fabulous. Highly recommend.
Just perfect! Food, ambience, service. Just perfect. A neighborhood treasure. Get the lunch special!
I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times, and it never disappoints! The first time I visited, I tried the Pad See Ew, and it was extremely flavorful honestly one of the best I’ve had. On my second visit, I had the Phad Thai, which was also great. By the third time, I ventured into the Red Snapper, and it was cooked to perfection!
One of my go-tos has consistently been the Pad See Ew, but recently I decided to branch out and try some appetizers. The Georgia Lobster Rolls, Tom Kai, and Lobster Fried Rice were all extremely delicious a fantastic blend of flavors that show off the kitchen’s skill.
This place is hands down a 10 out of 10 for Thai cuisine. Highly recommended!
On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, I brought an out of town colleague here for dinner. I had not dined at rain for many years, since before COVID, so I was excited to go back as it used to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Atlanta. I noticed the servers were different and my favorite manager / owner, Noi (sp?) no longer worked there. My colleague and I both ordered an appetizer and curry. The food arrived relatively quickly and hot, but pretty soon after we began eating my colleague noticed something in her food. I am horrified to share it was a bug! The waitress nor the manager seemed surprised. At. All. Wonder why - I can assume it is because they know they have bugs in the kitchen. The waitress was apologetic, the manager was not. As I said - they didn’t seemed phased. At. All. We did not finish our meal and sadly, I will not ever return. This was a horrible experience that I can’t shake off…!
Never go after 8pm, the staff act very stressed out and try to rush you out of the place, not a very comfortable experience. The food is good but the staff ruin the vibe every time.
Delicious food of a good variety. Friendly service.
Fantastic food. Great Sushi!
By far The grossest Asian food I’ve ever had! I don’t even know what to say or where to begin… The pad Thai was like soup, the chicken was like rubber, the beef was super tough with no flavor, some of the dishes tasted like they had a pound of sugar in them… I don’t know how they survive or stay in business here. This place is So yucky that I feel sorry for them! I tried it quite some time ago and it was bad but I decided to give it another chance and today really takes the cake about how horrible the food is. Truly unspeakable! Don’t go. Waste of time and money
One of my favorite restaurants in town. Lunch or dinner, always ready, always delicious!
We thought this was our goto Thai restaurant. Food is good, prices reasonable. Our young Shitzu always joined us and was well-behaved. HE IS AN EMOTIONAL SUPPORT dog that sat quietly, never uttering any sound of discontent. He was a perfect guest!
However, on June 29, when we arrived, a different manager decided we were not welcome because we had our 10 lb puppy. He did not care that we were regular customers. So my wife said, "Let's not beg them to take our money. " Our pup never uttered a sound or did anything wrong here! So we left and went where they brought our boy a special chair and welcomed our business. However, it was not the Thai food we originally planned.
We will have to find a Thai restaurant that accepts well-mannered dogs.
Food was great pre usual. The server didn't really pay attention to us and really seemed like she didn't want to be there.
Food is delicious prices are very reasonable priced Drink 🍸 are delicious never stingy with the alcohol
The food is good and the waitstaff is attentive and friendly, but is desperately in need of cleaning. It smells bad upon entering and I had to kill a roach crawling past our table at the end of the meal...
We are in here often. I like noodles, my wife likes sushi, and we keep coming back. The staff is so kind, the drinks are delicious, and the atmosphere is extremely laid back. Probably the best crab rangoon in the area.
For drinks we had two Voodoos, very refreshing fruity drinks.
Appetizers were Shrimp in Blanket and the Tempura Sampler (two shrimp and vegetables)
Mains were Pad See-U and the Super Rain Roll (comes with extra smoked salmon).
The food and service (Treent, our server, was very helpful) was most excellent. However, if I had to do it again, I would have chosen the Valentine Roll, same as the Super Rain Roll, just that the salmon isn't smoked, more for my sushi taste bud liking.
We have been frequent diners here through the years and consider this restaurant a favorite!
===============
Another very satisfying meal at Rain. for a group of four.
We shared sake, valentine roll, spider roll, tempura sampler, double shrimp roll, miso soup, Rain salad, and a sashimi sampler.
Service was most excellent, again, the food was reasonability priced and everyone was complementary of their eating's.
+++++++++++++
Again in May. Old Fashoned, Anti-Oxident, Atlanta Roll, Valentine Roll, Tempura Sampler, Tofu Salad. Most enjoyable. $74.00.
I can’t speak to the atmosphere other than being clean and pleasant when I picked up my takeout order, but the food was delicious! Everything was very fresh and well made - thank you for a lovely meal.
Wow, amazing experience at this place. I’m gluten free, so I ordered the wrong dish COMPLETELY MY FAULT and they were so nice they didn’t charge me for it. The dish was delicious and I paid nothing for it. These people have no what money can’t buy—a beautiful soul. Please go, you won’t be disappointed, very tasty food.
Delicious sashimi & rolls!
Great food that is a hit most of the time. Service is good, atmosphere can be intimate in the evening and more friendly corporate during the day.
Happy birthday to me. The food and service were excellent.
One of my favorite sushi places in Atlanta. Friendly staff, great food.
Drinks are great in this place! Needless to say about the food!! Great!!
The food was delicious.
The service was fast and very friendly.

The food was good but the restaurant had a problem with the heating system in one of the most cold night in ATL (last night) since we had a reservation to celebrate a bday I thought they could have called us to tell us about the situation in order to make a decision before arriving to the restaurant with all the guest. We stayed with our coats and hats but certainly the atmosphere was a minus star.
It seems as though
you get personal attention when you order any meal
Well I really hate to do this review but I feel it is needed 😌 been coming to this restaurant for about a year now.. and have had no problems. But unfortunately this will be my last visit here.. my food was hot one side and Luke warm on another.. but the icing on the cake was when I saw a roach run across the table .. when I notified the staff the owner took my dessert off the tab ..smh
Excellent Asian restaurant with full sushi bar and very good Thai and curry.
Love their 🍣 sushi!!
Closed now when I arrived before 10pm
The foods are great, but the service from the lady manager is always rude. She is selective and treats customers differently because I have complained about the wrong order before. Next time I came, she just talked with every table around us, and just ignore our table. That was rude and unprofessional.
Solid not mind blowing, but still good
Nice dining restuarant...great fresh food, nicely presented! Highly recommend.
We took my mother who is vegan here for her birthday and she loved it. She came back with a friend in the same week
Been going here since the 90’s and it’s still one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. Always fresh. Great service. Nice selections. Very reasonable. Hard to find better Thai in Atlanta.

Our favorite restaurant! The food is great, and the atmosphere is so lovely and cozy. We always have our two year old with us and they are always patient and accommodating.
I have eaten here quite a bit, the food is decent but the prices have gotten out of control. A modest size serving of curry will run you +$20. Plenty of good Thai and sushi in the area
Do not waste your money here overpriced,, food was bad, Sushi!!! (What a Joke,) it was not fresh ,they were rushing us to get out.
Bad, Bad and Bad.
Really nice staff but wow you are seriously getting ripped off. This is a dinner portion size pad see ew which totaled to be $22.81 with tax. The bowl it comes in is about the size of my fairly small hands lol. I will never come back here when there are at least half a dozen great Thai restaurants in the Buckhead area that at least serve a decent amount of food for this price. I actually can’t believe this.
Won’t be back just horrible.
My server was really really dry. Almost like he didn't want to work. But the food was amazing as always.
Great drinks and food
Food was excellent. Very fresh, delicious sushi.
*I would have given five stars across the board but there were two issues. One, their website says they take reservations, so it being a Sunday afternoon for a party of 6, my friend called and made one. Day of lunch, "we have no reservation", no acknowledgement, no apology, nothing. Then to accommodate us, they add a table to a booth by a window. Word of advice, don't sit in the sunroom during the summer, AC is non-existent. It's kinda difficult to enjoy coconut soup or a spicy curry dish.
We stopped there for lunch because we were the whole morning at the mexican consulat close by. The food was really delicious, especially the appetizer grilled chicken with peanut sauce. The service and atmosphere can be improved...was a little bit too cold.
good restaurant
Food was good, service ok.
Lacking AC ;-) was very warm inside restaurant! Asked TWICE about AC systems?
Ordered two specialty sushi rolls. One, the tina tasted off and the pickled ginger is too perfume-y for fresh sushi.
Service was wonderful. Food was great!! Had a table by the front door, the door was open so needless to say the front of the restaurant was just a little warm.
Great good and service each time.
Recommended by friends. I ordered pepper steak which was tough and chewy, not good features for steak. Service was prompt and present...attentive. Friends had sushi which they liked- perhaps that's what they are known for and is better.
I love this place their presentation of food is beautiful. All of there food is fresh. Don't take long for the food to be to the table pleasant workers and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Love all of it. I would like to try everything they have LOL good food. You won't be disappointed .
Authentic Thai foods in uptown Atlanta area. Sushi rolls and other Japanese dishes can be enjoyed at this restaurant as well. A mango sticky is so devoured.
Pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service Rain is never a miss
My shrimp fried rice was cold. I threw it away and I definitely won't be going back
Five stars are not enough! Fantastic on every level!
I haven't been here in years...and once loved the place. The sushi was not good at all...service was still impeccable just their food has really taken a nose dive.
The best neighborhood place to eat Thai/sushi!
Everything is delicious 😋. Pineapple fried rice comes served in a pineapple 🍍 😋.
Excellent food and service. Love the tropical flounder.
I love love this place. Authentic Thai food and I love their Thai tea. Everything I’ve had there is delicious. I love eating here when I’m in the area.
I took my dad here for fathers day, he used to go there regularly with a friend a few years back. The manager immediately recognized him, and quickly seayed us and brought us salads on the house. Their food was always great and very reasonably priced, and still is
Curry duck was unbelievable ordered it 2 days in a row asked for it the same way both times and there were ingredients in the 2nd day that were not in the first day. But still fantastic.
We had one sushi roll, and it was not bad, but the Thai food was nothing special at all. This was the first time we visited this place and we were not impressed, especially for the prices. This is a common problem with restaurants now where everything has gotten to be very expensive and the food is very mediocre. I ordered a pad Thai, which was just average compared to the many other Thai spots in and around Atlanta, and the Mongolian beef was actually terrible. $55 for two plates and one $10 sushi roll, no drinks or anything else. We most likely will never visit this place again, as there was nothing that would make us go back. Very surprised by all the positive reviews. Either we went on a bad night (Saturday night) or people have no reference for good Thai food.
Die for
Fabulous!
The chicken egg rolls, fried tofu and sushi are delicious!
Just a strange spot with strange customers.
Staff sleeping on the empty chairs. Good food though.
A bit expensive for what you get. If you are closer to a Ru'Sans, you should just go there, as they have a much bigger menu at much more reasonable prices.
Food is consistent and delicious.
Very limited vegetarian menu plus the items are not marked so have to be verified with the kitchen one at a time. Even the cashew dish isn't vegetarian. Said they can replace the Pad Thai sauce with soy sauce vs the regular sauce but most of the sauces are oyster or (other) fish based and can't be changed. Mango Sticky Rice was amazing. Join the 21st century and offer vegetarian options!
Update - the server didn't mention that the dishes I was asking about could be modified when I asked about whether the various dishes were vegetarian. I asked about many of the dishes including the cashew dish, curries, side dishes of garlic green beans and or asparagus, etc. I was simply told they were not vegetarian. So I stand by my statement that you are not vegetarian friendly since you do not mention this on your menu and rely on your inexperienced servers to run back and check on each dish (one at a time) as it is inquired about. It was not an inclusive welcoming experience.
It was just a perfect experience. My brother and sister-in-law took me there to celebrate my birthday, and I loved the place, the people, and the food!
Food is exceptional....Nice little quaint atlanta and definitely is the perfect spot for a date or girl outing.
Delicious. To be fair though, the tofu in a pumpkin curry I ordered specifically because I love pumpkin, only had 2 pieces of pumpkin in it. It was a busy Saturday evening. Service was slow.
Ordered to go, got home and enjoyed my meal. Wish I would have stayed there and ate, but next time I will. Food was fresh, menu was full of good options, service was on point. Looking forward to my next meal at Rain.
I had the sushi and masaman curry lunch box and tim ka Kai soup. Very delightful. Very nice server.
Food is always excellent. Lots of options. Guaranteed to find a dish that you like here.
Someone placed a grubhub order under my name and instead of working with me the lady hung up the phone and refused to help.
Took a long time to get service. Waited quite a while to get drinks and starters ordered. Once the food got there it was good.
A simple Thai food stop with deliciously addictive food and excellent service.
It's so delicious and their service is wonderful!!!
Pad Thai was wonderful green curry was two watery without any coconut flavor. Coconut shrimp were overdone. Service was very good
Consistent quality in service and food.
Gr8 food and even better drinks...
Wonder food and service! I definitely recommend if in the area. Sort of hidden next to the old Tara.
Our favorite go to sushi place. The Thai food is great too
A little noisy but I could talk to my table friends easily. Good portions beautifully presented.
I have been here for a few times and each time they really exceed expectations. For me, the service is 5* and in fossy and picky so giving this super friendly-professionalism staff a 5* review doesn't give them enough credit.
My friend told me about this spot. I REALLY ENJOYED THE FOOD! It was my first time having Thai. The atmosphere is great. Also nice location.
Ordered a pad see ew today with shrimp and it tastes awful. The shrimp isn’t fresh at all. Ends up lost my appetite entirely. Sad.
Great drinks and food !
I ordered a Green Curry and a Tom Kha Kai Soup from Uber and it was absolutely delicious!!! My photo would not do justice. However, I highly recommend it. Next time, I'll visit the restaurant and order some different items from the menu.
Easily one of my all time favorite restaurants, great food and service. Will definitely continue to come often.
Always eager to serve me!!! Love chicken noodle soup and fried chicken dumplings!!!
(This is a placeholder review on takeout until I dine-in for the full experience.)
Broccoli in pad-see-ew was cooked to perfection. Vibrant green broccoli usually gives me the impression that vegetables are undercooked, but that wasn't the case here. It was beautifully colored AND cooked 🥦
