Basic place dishing up pad Thai, curry selections & sushi rolls plus tempura ice cream for dessert.
We have been to Thai Basil & Sushi Zen many times. The food is always good and the service was excellent. This time the sushi was not quite as good. From my point of view, the sushi rice was not too fresh, the fish a little too thick, and the bite size just a little too big. The coconut chicken soup was excellent. Still a strong 4.5.
This is my go to sushi place. They have an endless amount of different sushi rolls with all kinds of sauces. The pad thai is okay but the sushi rolls are spectacular. I go here at least once every 2 weeks. The service is excellent as well. This place has been in existence for a very long time. It's obvious why
I went for lunch and tried three different meals at this place. For the price and portion size of each meal it's not to bad for the price.
The lunch meals come with a bowl of Tom Kha Kai and it very good and worth the money for the lunch or as a meal just in the soup. Their version has a nice coconut milk broth with a light spice and cilantro to make a great flavor, with the mushrooms and Chicken added to it makes it great treat for any meal.
One of the lunch meals was a pad Thai an it wasn't the best I've had but decent and a good meal for the price.
Second meal I've tried is the spicy basil leaf, it's good and taste sweet with a light bit of spice. The red and green peppers that come with it are cooked lighting but still have a good lightly crispy texture to them pair well with the chicken, basil, an onions that are cooked with them. It also come with freshly cooked white rice or you can sub fried rice for $1.50 more
The third dish I tried was a panang curry an it's the meal that I enjoyed the most. It's very well made with the curry milk sauce, chicken, and veggies they add to the dish. The spicy is there but it's not a smack you in the mouth spice but a nict back burner spice that creeps in as you eat. It also comes with rice with but can sub it to for the extra if you want.
The front staff is pretty nice and the place is usually busy every time I've gone. There's a sushi bar there so they do serve fresh rolls and I've seen what they make it an it's looks pretty good but haven't tried it yet.
All in all of your going for lunch or dinner it will be a good place for a date night or a family outing for a great meal.
Decent suburban Asian fare. We weren’t impressed nor were we completely disappointed.
The Fresh Basil Rolls were tasty and fresh, but served with Pad Thai sauce instead of the plum sauce as indicated on the menu. The produce used for the Tempura Vegetables was fresh, but the batter was thick and spongy instead of light and crisp. The Mongolian Beef was flavorful, but chewy and mainly onions. The Pad See U was the highlight of our order as the chicken was cooked perfectly with a good brown sauce that wasn’t overly salty.
Our server, Lauren, was wonderful and I believe the owner even stopped by to say hello. We could feel they care and we could see they have loyal regulars, but it simply wasn’t for us.
I’ve always had great experiences here. Sushi is fresh, they are quick, the food tastes great. This past visit we got a salmon cucumber roll, a California roll, dumplings, chicken lo mein, and sesame chicken. Everyone thought the lo mein was really good but the noodles are totally different than transitional dishes. They were fatter and stickier. But that ended up being a good thing cause it was delicious. Sesame chicken was amazing and came with broccoli. And the sushi was exactly what we wanted. I definitely recommend this restaurant to locals in the area!
Stop by for lunch at this location in Acworth it I've seen for years but never stopped in. So friend of mine invited me for lunch and I'm sure glad that you did. And found it during the staff was extremely friendly recognize my friend haven't been there in over a year.
This was lunch and they got pretty busy at lunch the place is got pretty full.
So we had roti for an app and also some spring rolls. The rodian the dipping sauce was wonderful the spring rolls we're also very good. I had Thai fried rice which was very tasty and my friend had pad thai.
Very enjoyable lunch quick service friendly and we will definitely be coming for dinner I'll let you know that goes stay tuned.
Apr 7 2023 Visit..
Three of us stopped in for lunch and the food was great. We had tom kai soup, General Tso's chicken, Massaman chicken curry and Catfish with red curry.
My husband and I have visited Thai Basil so many times that we lost count. The food is usually very good. However, the last few times, the food and the service were subpar.
Sometimes, you walk in and aren't acknowledged. The last time I went, the young kid acted as if we were bothering him, and he went through so much trouble to seat us. We were seated, and then he walked away. We waited a while, and no one brought us water, and we sat for almost 15 mins. Instead, the staff were sitting at the main table preparing the basil and laughing and talking. It was 4 pm, so they were just opening for dinner, so there was no reason why they shouldn't have been prepared.
The person who I assume is the owner noticed we were just sitting there and asked if we were ready. We ordered as she didn't write anything down - which is fine if you are able to do that. The food came out, and the spicy tofu soup was not very hot. And the sushi wasn't fresh either, and for the price, that's unacceptable. Unfortunately, she forgot one of the items we ordered. When we brought it up, she apologized, but it wasn't sincere at all. We felt like we were treated like an afterthought from the moment we walked in. And the same thing happened to patrons who were seated next to us. They were barely acknowledged when they arrived and were then seated and not attended to for a while.
Sadly, we won't be going back for a while.
I'm always looking for a good thai place, so I can say that I've tried a few and this has been my favorite so far. Don’t overlook this spot just because it’s in a shopping strip – it’s definitely worth checking out. The food is so good guys! I love their Tom Kha soup and lettuce wraps. There's nothing I've tried here that hasn't been delicious. Every time I visit the area I always come here to dine. I'm not thailandese, but I'm always comparing other thai restaurants to this one, so I guess it must be good. It's just something about the way that they season their food, so good! If you're in the area, I definintely recommend you give this place a try.
I ordered beef as chicken but they added chicken add beef I’m so disappointed I was gonna give 5 stars
The host is very rude
We had some really outstanding Thai here. The curry had lovely aromatics, just truly excellent. Lunch came with Tom Kha, which was a fantastic addition!
The best Thai this side of the Mississippi!! That chai is so addictive!! 🔥
Yeah its good guys, finger licking good even….. maybe even….. bring someone for a fifth date good even tho you end up breaking up and keep running into them… but all the pain is forgotten in the depth of a tom kha kai bowl…
DELECTABLE AND SCRUMPTIOUS 😣😣😣😣, i listen to my body and so i meander on over and scarf down a bowl of that COCONUT CURRY WITH THAI TEA ON THE SIDEEEEEEE 😫😫😫 and that sushi…..THAT SUSHI, it’s enough to make a grown man cry!!!
Have eaten here 30+ times, and have never been disappointed with our meals. Not once! The curries are great! The sushi is terrific! The Thai dishes are great!
The food was amazing!! I recommend coming to this hidden gem!
Order food last weekend. I ordered the spicy basil fried rice with chicken and shrimp and it had no seasoning/no spice …Kind of dry on everything. Very disappointing as I’ve had really delicious things from here before.
Ordered my food…NO CONDIMENTS, NO PLASTICWARE, NO NAPKINS…Better Luck next visit!!!
My favorite sushi place in the metro area - not too expensive, superbly prepared, and fresh... but wait there's more! They also serve out of the park Thai food! So if you're in the mood for Asian cuisine they got you covered.

This is a family favorite. If we are going out fir sushi, this is our go-to and has been for years.
I read the reviews, and I ordered the Tom Kha Kai (Coconut Soup) and Massaman Chicken Curry because people liked them. I’ve eaten a lot of Thai, and these were some of my favorite versions of these dishes. Highly recommend!
I love this place. This has been my favorite restaurant since I was little! My favorites are the Thai tea, Tom Kai Kai soup, and White Tuna Sashimi, Spicy Basil fried rice, and the stuffed mushroom appetizer!
Wow! I wish I would've know about this place sooner. New spot favorite in acworth.
Food was fantastic! Good portion sizes too.
Very good. Second time around here. Since the beginning of this year since we first moved to Georgia in Acworth. The first we went for lunch and was very pleased. Tried again today for my birthday today for takeout as I was craving for Thai food! Very pleased this time around! Will return for sure! The Tom Ka Kai was my fav along with chicken red curry and chicken pad Thai and spring rolls!
Food was delicious. Plum sauce was a treat for the taste buds. Soft shell crab house special is a new favorite was bountiful flavors. Sakura sushi roll was large and refreshing.
Continues to be our favorite local Asian fare. Excellent food and solid service for these times.
Stopped in very late as we were driving through Atlanta. Nice staff and atmosphere. Best Thai food I've had in a long time! Will definitely go out of my way to eat here again.
Decent suburban Asian fare. We weren’t impressed nor were we completely disappointed.

Our favorite local Thai and sushi place!
The sushi here is very delicious.
We love Thai Basil. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere made warm and friendly by the staff. They accommodate our service dogs and even provide them a snack of steamed beef while we dine. We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
The coconut soup was really good, and so was the spicy basil fried rice. I will definitely come back.
Great experience
Love this place. I've tried everything on the menu, never had a bad meal. Staff and owners are great.
Just ate there. Ordered red curry chicken…Chicken was so tough I couldn’t even chew it!!will never go there again. I brought it to the waiters attention and he went back and talked to the chef and the chef said it’s supposed to be a little tough! really hello!!! NO IT NOT SUPPOSED TO BE TOUGH HELLO
Went today for lunch for first time..four in our party. Everything was fresh, great tasting, good portions and fair prices. Everyone was pleased. Will definitely be back. This is now our go-to for asian dining.
Best Thai food i have had. Who ever is in the kitchen is an elder who has years of experience because man that pad Thai is super great. The spicy basil fried rice too!!!
This is my go to sushi place. They have an endless amount of different sushi rolls with all kinds of sauces. The pad thai is okay but the sushi rolls are spectacular. I go here at least once every 2 weeks. The service is excellent as well. This place has been in existence for a very long time. It's obvious why
The Tempura California roll that I had was absolutely delicious! The combination of fresh crab meat, creamy avocado, and crunchy cucumber was perfect. The roll was beautifully presented, with the delicate rice and nori seaweed wrapping it all together. The flavors were well-balanced, and every bite was a delight. Overall, it was a very satisfying and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend trying the Tempura California roll if you're a fan of sushi!
My family and I are from MD/DC, so the foods are so delicious! Like other restaurants we’ve gone to since moving to GA, this place lacks some flavor. In terms of salt and other spices. The only thing we enjoyed was the crab Rangoon’s, calamari, and fried shrimp. The Thai basil chicken lacked salt and wasn’t it. The Pad See U was really dry. I would like to say there are lot of us that like flavor. Not everyone likes bland food. I know there is a certain demographic that a lot of the restaurants try to lean more towards, but there are a lot other demographics that like spices and flavorful food. Even the French fries we got our girls and nuggets lacked flavor. I wouldn’t come back here again unless it’s for the ragoons. The workers were very nice though.
We came in for a late lunch and the food was brought out barely warmed. Veggies were essentially raw. Asked if sex the cook could finish cooking the veggies and was advised they were no longer cooking. Couldn't eat the meal. Veg soup same issue. The steamed giosa were delicious.
The place has one of the best ambience and vibe that match with the food. Also, the cost is very reasonable for an upscale restaurant!
Delicious as always! This is my father’s go to place for all things Thai Food, and they cover the basics beautifully.
Most excellent. I had the Spicy Ginger Chicken. My wife had noodles. My son had shrimp fried rice. We all enjoyed our meals.
We have tried a few Thai restaurants in the area and this just isn’t good. The pad Thai tasted weird and not like pad Thai at all. Over priced for subpar food.
Always great!

This restaurant is very clean, the music is soothing, and the overall atmosphere is great. The service was excellent as well. I stopped by for their lunch special, and it was very tasty and affordable. Will definitely stop by here again some time in the future.
We love this place! The food and service are great! Very friendly employees and the food is always so good.
Wow. Lifelong Acworth resident and I've slept on this place! Tried it for dinner with hubby and I was so impressed! We had basil rolls, Roti canal and Tom Kha Kai soup for appetizers. Everything was fresh, hot and delish. Service was quick and our waiter was so pleasant and very helpful with his recommendations. For entrees we had red chicken curry and the Manhattan sushi roll. So good. Was tempted to keep this gem for myself but it's too good not to share!
Excellent sushi and Thai curries. We have been eating here for over 10 years
Not the cleanest place in the world the food wasn’t bad however I’ve had better Thai food 6.5/10 I got the Basil Thai rice with chicken. The server/ service was good. The wait for the food wasn’t long at all.
Consistently good food 😋 👌
I frequently get the Thai Mango Chicken and have it with chop sticks always happy with that, very tasty. Also frequently the Tempora Chicken a lot which comes with two sides, a Miso Soup and a Ginger salad, verrrrry good choice. Also try the Seafood sauce (the orangeish one in the picture) for the Tempora it makes it like 10x better 😋
Ordered a meal for $19.95, as written on the menu. Was charged $ 23.95 and asked the waiter why. He told me their prices are subject to change. What?! He continued, menu is outdated. I asked why would they give us an old menu with old prices. He did not know but did not change the cost. Before he rang it up, he came back and try to justify the cost now that I ordered brown rice, which is $ 2.00 more. I explained that NO WHERE does it say this on their 'old menu' and even if that was true, 19.95 plus 2 does not male 23.95. Needless to say, very disappointed and makes me wonder how we need to read their menu.. can you imagine going even to McDonald's, order on their menu and when getting the food are told the price was subject to change.
I stopped in for my first time with my cousin, the food was very good! The seating is a little close together but its not a big deal. I had the Mango Thai which I loved!
We go 20 minutes out of our way to go to this restaurant. Amazing selection. Coconut soup is awesome. Curry is delivious. Great staff!
The BEST Thai - spicy basil fried rice with chicken EVER!!!
First time here. Just moved to Acworth a few months ago and want to find a Thai resto nearby . It was good but not the greatest !
We had the following: fried spring rolls, General Tso lunch. Chicken pad Thai , red Curry Chicken and Mango & Sticky Rice for dessert. Drinks - hot Tea and Thai iced tea. The lunches came with Tom Ka (coconut soup) - that was very good with great flavor ! The spring fried rolls were basically rolled cabbage and very minimal vermicelli with not much flavor. The red curry chicken was ok - the chicken was a bit dry though? The pad Thai noodles were overcooked .do it was soggy . The general tso my husband said was good but it’s not really Thai food! The Thai iced tea was good. Will I go back? Maybe ! The service was great though
One of our favorite places to eat. Great food and friendly people
I’ve always had great experiences here.
I've been going to this place for years. Their rolls are so good and reasonably priced.
I love their food. Most people seem to do take out but the dinning room looks very nice. Sushi is wonderful.
First visit and the food and service was excellent! Pad Thai was supper. Masman Currry was delicious. Looking forward to my next visit.
Love the food. Love the sake!
Best sushi in town!
Always love going to Thai Basil!! The chicken coconut soup is fabulous! I also had General Tso's chicken with white rice but failed to make a photo. Not ever had a bad dish there!!
Always good. We had a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed!
Food is usually good but this time is was very bland. Plus they have always offered a military discount but claim they no longer do even though I got one the week before.
Best place to get Thai food, and it is always so good.
This place is absolutely top of the line for Asian cuisine! First impressions was a super friendly staff. Our server Lauren was absolutely on point. The food was super fresh and flavorful. Not a single complaint. We will definitely be back.
Plaza restaurant with loyal customers for good reason. Tom Kha soup is my favorite but we went for the sushi tonight and we were not disappointed. Always fresh and delicious.
The menu shows which items are spicy which is very helpful for people like me who can’t handle too much heat.
Service was great, they were busy but our server was there to refill our drinks and take our order.
Customer service and food here is always great.
Amazing Thia food. Pineapple chicken is the bomb! Will be back.
We enjoy going to this restaurant. I alternate between the cashew chicken, green curry, pad thai and Mongolian beef. All have been very good. We also really like the tom kha kai soup. The only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars was because the calamari needs some work. It isn’t very good unfortunately.
Went there for the first time. Food was good but service wasn’t. Never received lemons. Waiter took our order and never saw her after that. Not to check up on if everything was good. Never got a water refill. She seemed like she had forgotten about us.
Very good food, that is little pricey but reasonable. Nice and efficient front of house staff. Skilled and consistent back of house staff. Good atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Love their food. Delicious! Great options. Friendly staff.
Have loved this restaurant for 20 years!!
Food was delicious!
Would give them no stars if possible. We thought we would try this place big mistake. The food from Door Dash was wrong and no one would correct it. We ended up having to order from another restaurant.
Very good sushi. The variety almost make it difficult to choose. Service was very good, pleasant waitress, very polite, spot on the orders. Food doesn't take too long to come and is as fresh as you can get. Place could use a little organizing. Some boxes at the floor, but nothing too problematic, I think. We'll certainly come back.
I door dashed some food loved the soup.
We absolutely love this place. Their sushi is absolutely the best in town. Mackerel, eel, tuna, and salmon all amazing quality. We look forward to eating here regularly. Absolutely wonderful.
Food was really great.
Wait time for food was to long but we'll worth it
Pretty awful IMO. I don’t know how you make Thai food bland but I guess miracles do happen. There’s no decent Thai in the area so don’t bother. There’s nothing out of the ordinary on this menu which tells me they’re just slinging Pad Thai all day. Best to stick to basics out here I suppose.
Would be no stars if an option. A quarter of my order was not delivered via third party door dash. After being called to redeliver the $35 worth of food not delivered door dash was told they would not although they are still open and accepting orders for another hour plus. Had to order another service for my family to eat. Very upset horrible horrible service. Go elsewhere.
Sushi and Curries are always delicious here! Have to try the crab!
Very good
Best Thai food anywhere around! A must visit!!
I dined in and ordered delivery many times ...great Thai food and sushi , great place
Great food
Mostly order food from here for family events. Always prompt
We love this place, our go to for sushi and Thai. We work late so we appreciate their late hours and the staff is always very friendly and happy to serve us even when we come in a bit later. All of their sushi is great and we like their curries and noodle dishes as well. I don’t think we have ever ordered anything we don’t like. Their takeout service is very efficient and quick as well.
Really busy, food was different from the normal Thai food that I love.
probably will not go back there
Amazing service and great sushi!
Only a few minutes drive from Cartersville.
My friend Jen-Jen and I had apatizers! The food is delicious! 😋
This is a great staple in our Asian food repertoire. They always do a great job on service, food quality and with the recent remodel they have up'd their atmosphere game.
I do not recommend...I got really sick after leaving this place. I vomited my brains out .. so now we are paying money to get sick??
I usually get the Thai basil fried rice w shrimp or chicken. I love the roti canai it's so delicious.
Great sushi and plenty of non-sushi options. They take reservations which I recommend: it can get crowded, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. The bar serves beer, wine, and saki only (no cocktails).
The food and service is pretty good. The sushi is really good. Nice family owned business. I will say the menu is a bit overwhelming but rest assured whatever you decide on will taste good.
I love the sushi here. It tastes really good, all the sushi I tried were awesome. The only thing I do not like is how close the tables are. I feel that you are over the shoulder of the other guests. Its easy to fix and will help make a much better experience.
Stop by for lunch at this location in Acworth it I've seen for years but never stopped in. So friend of mine invited me for lunch and I'm sure glad that you did. And found it during the staff was extremely friendly recognize my friend haven't been there in over a year.

Three of us stopped in for lunch and the food was great. We had tom kai soup, General Tso's chicken, Massaman chicken curry and Catfish with red curry.
This restaurant is one of my favorites!
Ate here for take out twice, won’t go back. 1st time ordered regular chicken pad Thai and it was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. My Fiancé who has a bigger spice tolerance than me said it was spicy. 2nd time I ordered sushi. It was $13 for one little roll that was so bland tasting. It had like 3 different fish in it and all I tasted was the cheap cream cheese. I’ve had way better tasting sushi for less money. Publix sushi is better honestly. So disappointed.
Very good Thai food. The Tom yum soup is the best iv had so far
I love this restaurant. They are so caring, the food is top notch, I love everything I've ever ordered, and they go out of their way to ensure you're pleased. We come here probably 3 times per month. My son usually gets a curry, my daughter the sushi and I typically get the pad Thai.
It was delicious to so many of the plates and items served there. Definitely enjoyed it and understand why my friend talked so highly of this place.
5 Stars from me because I absolutely LOVE the coconut soup. I wish they had a catering menu so I could order it by the gallon.
I also like the mango chicken
pad see ew is pretty good but nothing extraordinary (like the soup)
pad thai is on the sweet side, but still good
personally not a fan of the fried/chinese style dishes like General Tso's and sesame chicken but glad they are offered with some picky eaters in the household
I love the mango sticky rice! My favorite!
Been going here for years and their food has been top notch for all that time. One of the best restaurants in acworth
We have been going here for years. Someone said to try a Thai place in Marietta, but Thai Basil has it beat hands-down. Great food, great atmosphere, and great waitresses.
This place is amazing, the staff is always courteous and prompt, the food is amazing as well, fresh sushi, amazing curry’s, become a regular & you will find they even have a secret menu. Tell them Chris sent you!
Thai Basil is one of my favorite places to eat. The sushi taste fresh consistently and the Tom Kha Gai soup ( coconut ginger chicken soup) is the best I have had anywhere, spicy and comforting at the same time.
The food was so flavorful and at a reasonable price.
I love this place. Their menu is very vegetarian friendly. This is a first choice place whenever I am meeting friends for dinner. Large portions. Good prices. Excellent service.
This used to be our favorite place until tonight. We were given an entree for a child’s meal - clearly a child. I asked the server “Anne” if that was a child sized portion and she said no. She told me that she would charge the child’s price which seemed fair and corrected the situation. This same server rushed us to order, and then came up and asked us if we wanted the check. That’s never happened to me in 40 years of going to restaurants. Anyway, Anne then quite loudly explains that she can’t take off the difference because we ate the food… uh… ok. Hope the $10 dollars was worth it Sushi Zen - not classy, very rude.
Food was good, but there was a staple in my Pad Thai. They also didn’t provide cutlery. Because of this experience, I wouldn’t recommend.
Everytime we come over it's an amazing experience. I love the food here. The coconut soup, the edemames, the pad Thai....they are simple the best, come try them.
A small, cozy restaurant with a good atmosphere and top-notch sushi chefs. If you're looking for a quiet dinner spot with delicious sushi, this is your place. Friendly and attentive staff, too!
Absolutely love Thai Basil. We have been many times and always amazing food.
La comida es deliciosa y les recomiendo la sopa de coco.
The food is delicious and I recommend you the coconut soup.
Sushi and appetizers are great! But stay away from over priced entrées with very few vegetables, even when more were requested and charged for. Eyelash in entrée – gross!
The owner is rude and the employees are incompetent! I will never eat at this insect infested whole in the wall ever again
Im still not sure if it's authentic Thai. I stopped eating Chinese food unless I made it myself. I don't do many Thai restaurants because I've often found they claim to be a Thai establishment, but the menu is often Chinese, with a few Thai items on the menu, made incorrectly. The sweet and spicey chicken dish my wife had, the chicken was absolutely tasteless. The Thai Pad was just okay. My son's beef noodles was a no-go! My Thai vegetables with chicken, again, just okay.
Love the food here... always, always good food & service. This place has been here for a long time, let's you know that they are good!
Menu does not list all items in dish. Ordered through door dash and Pad See U was listed only showing broccoli and showed up with mushrooms. There’s a severe mushroom allergy in my household as we were sharing items. Called the restaurant and they said it was only door dash and to contact them. They didn’t offer to do anything. Their website has the same listing only showing broccoli. Owners really need to pay attention and list items in dishes on the menu.
First time ordering here as i started working in the area. Love Thai food but have definitely had better. The green curry was white... nothing to rave about, but edible.
Food is good and always fresh. The only recommendation I would say is to please please incorporate the option to have different spice levels and also make it available for online ordering. Everything else is great. Service is always professional, and family friendly. Definitely a nice little gem in the area.
Me and my friend got food poisoning from them.
Food is always amazing & the service is great!!
