Casual locale specializing in Thai & Japanese eats such as sushi, noodles & rice dishes.
We wanted Thai. We were going somewhere else. Thank God they were closed so we came here. Strip mall food can be underrated... And that was the case here.
Not much to say about the sushi since we all had Thai, but the veggie green Thai, chicken panang, and shrimp massaman at mild, hot, and medium respectively were great. And they brought out homemade Thai chili sauce for 2 of us to step it up as needed.
It's in the heart of an LGBTQ area which is why we're here and the inclusive staff was incredible. Loved the decor and art but inside in the middle of the afternoon was a little low key for me.
This place is very delicious and their servers are very attentive and pleasant. We had the boat for 3! The quality and texture of the fish was fresh and taste amazing. They also have special orders on fish such as salmon belly, king salmon, katsuo, o torso, fatty albacore etc! They have a very big menu to chose from! I would definitely recommend this place to go out to eat.
Sushi was good. The chicken Shitakti roll was disappointing as it had no mushrooms and very little ground white chicken. When I inquired, I was told they only had regular mushrooms. Yet none were in the prepared dish.
I plan to return to the Federal Highway location, which was much better in all areas!
Parking was difficult. Ended up circling the lot several times and paying for parking across the street.
Absolutely amazing. So fresh, so tasty, I couldn’t get enough. The sushi boat for 1 was to die for. Do not hesitate one bit to come here. The atmosphere was just right, the food was fresh, and the service was top notch. #1 place to go for sushi. I’m in love with this place.
Always a pleasure at Tee Jay's. They even have a great happy hour. Every roll I've tried has been fresh & delicious. Never have to wait for a server or drink. I personally wasn't a fan of their old fashioned so try something else. Sitting at the sushi bar...9X out of 10 they make you a special appetizer of their choice and they're always refreshing with usually a tuna and cucumber concoction.
the ginger salad dressing of this place is incredible
while waiting for a table at the front door the hostess seated a pushy couple in line behind us before offering us a seat. The hostess confirmed that we were ahead of the couple and she proceeded to offer us a seat afterwards right beside the pushy couple she just sat. Happy Valentines 💝
Always great atmosphere and good food. Great happy hour specials and friendly service.
LARGE SUSHI ROLLS, that’s are tasteful and so unique! Can’t wait to come back!
New Review:
Editing this review bc I went back here with a friend and really enjoyed my dining experience! We met here on a Friday evening during happy hour. First thing I noticed was that the former grumpy, condescending, and sassy servers, whom had been such a mainstay for so many years, were finally GONE! Thank goodness! Instead, we enjoyed excellent service with pleasant attitude, which really made a difference in our overall experience.
I ordered three really well-made and delicious lychee martinis, and so did my friend. They were $7 each during happy hour, which seems like a good price nowadays. However, I do want to note that I would never again pay the regular price of over $15 each. Then I ordered the large Thai garden salad. That was also super yummy! The ingredients were fresh and crisp and the ginger dressing was the perfect combination of ginger and carrot goodness. For my main dish, I got one of my go-to faves, their 17th Street roll, which was high in quality and flavor. The portions were also very good for the money. However, neither of my food options were part of the happy hour specials. That’s fine by me as long as the food is fresh, tasty, and well-portioned for the price.
I am now Giving them 5 stars! Huge leap from the 1 star, poor customer-service-driven experience that nearly ruined my favorite restaurant for me for life! I will be coming back a few times monthly again for sure!
Old Review:
This used to be my absolute favorite sushi spot for the past 9 years. I frequented this restaurant at least 40 times a year (~once a week). I celebrated my birthdays here. I invited all my friends here. I indulged in weekly work lunches here. All this time, I ignored the often rude service because the food was delicious and generously portioned. Now, however, I am beyond disappointed that the food quality has plummeted! This was my third time in less than 30 days that I came here and had a poor experience. But this time warrants a bad review. They are now using DYED and FROZEN fish! And what’s worse is that the sushi is NOT fresh! I could smell it was RANK when I lifted the sashimi to my mouth, but I still gave it a try. Huge mistake! I had to spit the whole piece of fish out and gagged! When I advised the waiter that the fish was spoiled, she grabbed the bento box, stormed off, and started ranting loudly in another language! Then she proceeded to ignore me to the point that I had to go to the front to pay. I told the guy at the front counter that this experience was a terrible disappointment and that I hoped this was not going to be their new norm since I’m a regular. He did not care at all! I was expecting some kind of pride in their product and some assurance that this was just a fluke. However, his response to my honest feedback was to roll his eyes and say “that’s good.” Terrible food, dirty tables, filthy bathroom, rude rude rude service! They lost a long time customer. And I lost my go to sushi spot for the past almost decade. But they simply do not care.
Always good food and service, well worth a visit…they do gluten free options too!
Excellent
Dine in, quick lunch, which BTW was quite delicious!!!
I had their Thai food before - which was great. Ordered sushi today - picked up - waiter made me wait 10 mins to pick up when the order was right there but that was not the issue. Worst sushi I ever had. Salmon sashimi had scallion on it and some kind of mayo sauce that made it uneatable, all rolls had mayo on them (green devil, dragon, sea monster …) no flavor but mayo … order included side or rice that I never got , they provided 2 small soy sauce for 4 rolls 8-10 pieces each. Seriously this was waste of $98 - sooo disappointing ! All I have left is to hope their fish was fresh …
Dim sum wasn’t fresh… they could have steamed the ‘frozen’ dumplings longer. The sea food platter was served wrapped in tin foil. Flavour was ok, nothing special. $1 worth of frozen seafood for 24$. Most of the people in my table of 8 were disappointed with their food.
The curries looked ok…
Wine selection… mostly California wines. One cheap French wine.
Total atmosphere of the place was horrible.
We tried going back to this place but left before even being seated. The young man seating people had a horrible attitude. It was such a hassle for him to do his job. Never again. Three strikes they’re out!
The food is top notch!!
Love the place. Great food
Thai food is recognized for the flavors and blanking of those flavors. My dishes were extremely bland and lacking interest. Psd Thai was boring and bland. i asked for some lime and peanut sauce to pour top. very disappointing. I have taught International Cusine for nearly 20 years. y main dish took a very long time to come to the table, I was the only customer when I ordered my food. Other customers arrived, ordered, and received their food. I think my order was lost.
Best sushi I have ever tasted! They have a huge menu for you to find what you desire the most. The service here is absolutely amazing! Special thanks to Thom for a great experience. Definitely recommend eating here!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely amazing. So fresh, so tasty, I couldn’t get enough. The sushi boat for 1 was to die for. Do not hesitate one bit to come here. The atmosphere was just right, the food was fresh, and the service was top notch. #1 place to go for sushi. I’m in love with this place.
Great place for sushi and Tai food
This restaurant has been a mainstay in Wilton Manors for years. The food and service are fine, although I would take issue with culinary protocol and suggest that they review the manner in which dishes are brought forth and placed, mainly soup, which would benefit from a dish underneath.
The menu offers a diverse selection of Thai Cuisine and a broad range of affordable prices. The lunch selections were not limited in the least and the wait staff was pleasant and accommodating. My food was nicely seasoned, the rice on the side was fluffy and hot, but I do prefer my vegetables, most notably broccoli, to be cooked just a bit longer. It was just a bit too raw and very hard to chew. A little crunch is perfectly okay with most vegetables, but broccoli stalks can be a challenge.
My only real concern though is that the restaurant is overly shop worn with noticeable, obvious signs of wear on practically every surface; ALL of which was VERY evident in the daylight of lunchtime. Scuffed, dirty wall surfaces, major dust on overhead fixtures and decore, lifting surface finishes on the dining tables, and worn finish marks on ALL the chairs. The restaurant has been open for several years. One caveat of being a popular eatery is that wear and tear have cumulative effects. They absolutely need to freshen things up which is easily done given that they obviously invested in higher quality tables and chairs that can easily be refinished... The entire place needs a coat of fresh paint and management should be more diligent about performing thorough Spring and Fall cleanings. It's simply called MAINTENANCE... It's a great place, but complacency has killed many a business and it needs to be banished if they are going to remain popular. They have to remain every bit as committed to every detail today, as they were when they first opened.
Got take out. Red curry with chicken. Unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy my meal, I chose medium spicy but it was so spicy I could only take a couple of spoonfuls. I couldn’t eat anymore. Wasted $23
We wanted Thai. We were going somewhere else. Thank God they were closed so we came here. Strip mall food can be underrated... And that was the case here.

Delicious food. Wait staff very attentive. Inside well maintained. As a note, the parking is horrible. I went late on a Wednesday so I assume parking could be even worse. Keep that in mind when meeting a friend or driving there.
Excelente comida
I love this place
Great atmosphere. The food and service was amazing.
The staff was amazing and this place is very warm and inviting. They remembered our orders.
Waiter persistently extorted a specific amount for a tip. V
ery unpleasant experience, with very average quality of food
What a disappointment. It looks like a kid was in the kitchen, tonight. Well, kids can cook (better). It was a disaster. The only thing it was okay was the spring rolls. So sad.
Staff is friendly, atmosphere is fantastic. Food is very tasty and many options.
Hubby and I love ordering sushi from here! Food is excellent and no matter if we order take out or dine in the food is always consistent 😊
Tasty Thai food and great sushi. We meet friends here often and enjoy it every time. It’s a great spot for take out also. Pad Thai with shrimp and the age tofu are our go-tos. Definitely try them out if you’re in the area.
Always consistently great food and service that's priced very reasonably.
Went during happy hour and ordered off that. Everything was very very good. The crad salad, chiken katsu, steak, pot stickers. We stuck to the apps because they were so yummy and wanted small bites of everything. The host that sat us down had a bit of attitude, but that was with everyone, I noticed. Oh well.
Absolutely a great experience, service, food and environment, love it love it love it
I’ll definitely will never be coming back sushi was not good at all the server was okay but when I asked for change he just never came back with it ..
NOT okay
The staff in here are rude and cold . Food is good, but don't expect to be treated with any welcome.
Excellent! Thanks to Rajee for her recomendacion
Consistantly good Thai (I'm not a sushi person, but it all looked great going to other tables). Help is On Point 99% of the time. One of my go-to's in FTL area. It helps to be LGBT+, or friend of. This past weekend was as busy as I've ever seen it, with a wait list.
It was pretty good... however the menu is too long and complicated. They really need to simplify the menu. The menu should not be like a book.
Great food. Great service.
Ordered delivery for the first time, the fried roll was overcooked in old oil, spicy tuna was tasteless and not spicy, cheap soy sauce and cream cheese. Tuna tataki also tasted burnt.
One of the best curry and pad thai I have ever had. Will be dreaming of it until we can go back.
Great food and service!
Great meal from here! Highly recommend the Namsod and impressed with the spice levels overall
The main location on US 1 is far better .
Food good. Service ok the server is that friendly nor was the guy in the front door.
Good food, great service. Very pleased with everything. Would recommend to alll!!
Penang curry is excellent
Delicious and well priced lunch specials. The crispy duck curry was wonderful. Nice string Thai tea. Delicious and flavorful miso soup
They over charged me for an unagi roll because online ordering was a different price than instore.
Delicious crispy duck!
Food is very good and consistent. Service can be a little bit more attentive without attitude. Drink menu is good with selection. Unfortunately, there is no bartender and staff makes your drinks without some kind of knowledge of mixology.
Voortreffelijk eten
Didn’t have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised with the cooked spicy lobster roll. It took some time to come out but was worth the wait. Our friends also enjoyed their sushi and apps. Will be back if Im ever in Wilton Manors again!
the only place i will order sushi from. Everything is delicious
My favorite place in Wilton Manors. I could drive hours to eat the lobster padthai. High and fresh quality food.
Food and service were very good. If you like spicy Thai food you should try Tee Jay Thai. I believe the one in Ft. Lauderdale on N. Federal Hwy has more ambiance and style. They both have great food.
Great Thai and sushi, especially for the price.
Best Thai around! Great quality price!
Good food an ambiance
Great place
Lunch specials are great
The food was just okay, but the service was honestly lacking. Truth be told, I was a little disappointed.
Some friends had recommended this place to me, but they had never dined in. Their experiences with this restaurant only involved ordering take-out.
The waitress came three times during my visit. To take my order. To drop my food, and then to take my money. But, I had to actually make a significant amount of effort to get her attention just to give her my money in the end.
And still, because I am a firm believer that serving is already hard enough on a person without me contributing to someone’s bad day because the experience didn’t live up to my expectations and the hype, and because it is the holiday season and I wanted to do something nice for the server in the event that she was in fact just having a very bad day, so I matched the tip to whatever the total for the meal and drinks were and just wrote thank you and happy holidays at the bottom of my receipt with a smiley face.
Perhaps I will give them another try at some point down the line, but I by no means left this place having any sort of burning desire to return at any point, nor is it the first thing that comes to mind when I’m craving this type of food, either.
But the atmosphere seemed pretty decent. And despite my experience, the place is definitely jamming more than it is not. Worth a shot for anyone that hasn’t tried them yet.
I am from Los Angeles, having grown up with a wide variety of Asian food. Based on my experience, I can genuinely state that this place offers authentic, scrumptious Thai food, along with other Asian staples, such a sushi, that rivals the best in Los Angeles. Bravo, Tee Jay!
Always good service and delicious food!
I will say it is one of my favorite restaurants, we also love Lucky, our favorite server
Great lunch specials. Great service.
Love this place!
Love this spot, food is always good. Servers are always pleasant and the happy hour is great!
The problem here is this restaurant is extremely dirty period the floors are dirty even the tabletops during the setting of the sun in the afternoon on the West can be seen as full of stains so that the smell of old fish and soy sauce permeates everywhere period staff is not very accommodating except to their own whims often with one individual thinking that he is the owner of the restaurant and others following suit. The chicken is very low quality. They always try to trick you away from the lunch specials into these extremely overpriced dinner place. I have seen staff After staff member not wash their Period then you look around, and the clientele is mostly a low class. Trying to pretend they are elegant period it is not an obscure restaurant by any stretch of the imagination On top of that, the chicken and the beef in most of the plates is disgusting and I do know. There's suppliers of serenadams and they tell me that this restaurant wants to buy cheaper lower cost foods.
Met family here for dinner, I've never had Thai food, so I was told I should get the pad Thai. I found it very bland, nothing special to speak of. I will probably try Thai food again, but not here.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
Great food, service. It was Monday night so restaurant was relatively quiet. Good time to go.
Overall, great food. Great cocktails! Friendly staff! Will be coming back to eat again. My table got the vegetarian sushi rolls, tuna roll, and cheese Rangoon. The rangoons were great and the sushi was really fresh. Will be coming back to eat here 100%.
Absolutely amazing. The staff and sushi chefs are superb- so attentive, so observant, so friendly. The food is ridiculously delicious. The rolls are filling and they don’t cheap out. Everyone at our 12 person table got a variety of dishes from the curry to the duck to pad Thai to sushi rolls. Everyone loved the food. No complaints from a single person. Can’t get over how much we loved this place. We will definitely be coming back. So grateful for such a positive dining experience, some thing that I feel is so rare these days.
Was concerned when I saw the 4.4 stars. We have it a shot with a group of 6 adults and 6 kids. Food was phenomenal. “Sashimi Dinner”, the fish quality was outstanding. The red curry duck was great as well.
Staff was immensely kind and helpful. Brought free ice cream for the kids. We couldn’t have hoped for a better visit. Will be back soon!
I loveeee the sushi here. The only thing I can complain is sometimes the service it’s not that great in terms of customer service
Fantastic food. Excellent service. Reasonable prices.
I highly recommend the grilled salmon with three sauces. Every time order that dish it is cooked perfectly!
Needs a menu update. Parking on weekend nights is a nightmare and your car could be towed! Food is good. Good service too. Lunch specials are good and portions are good size. Patking at lunch is easy.
I have been to this location twice. Both times the food was superb.
Great place, great food
Our waitress was fantastic and the food was delicious.
Service was a bit slow. Especially since it wasn't packed. Food is always great.
Very popular place and location at dinner. Came at sunset and was seated by a sun-filled spot by the windows. Unpleasant for a bit, but thankfully, we got our fill. Service was slow. Wasn't a bad experience, but I waited for everything.
Ordering a boat for two could have fed 3 easily. It was gorgeous and filling. The seaweed salad fish medly was the best part of the meal.
The salmon was overcooked, dry, tasteless and really terrible.
Food was very good, and service was amazing. Had the Penang curry with shrimp, and very well done. My drink was soso, wasn’t done the right way but was drinkable.
Definitely a place I would recommend for the curries. Haven’t tried the sushi yet but my friends did and they seemed really good too.
Very flavorful food. Fresh prepared meals. Never had such delicious sushi rolls
Get the Lychee martini
Delicious sushi!!
Love ❤️ it
Always a go to place for sushi. Consistent, delicious and reasonably priced. Great happy hour.
Sitted outside. Sesfood combo was flavorless. Nonody checked on us, I had to go inside to ask for the bill
My hands down favorite Thai restaurant of all time from the food to the excellent service 😋
Wasn’t the biggest fan of what I had tried but understood that I was simply trying a new dish and just didn’t happen to like it. Was not at all upset by that. However Was then approached by our rude waitress that accused us of not tipping. Actually tapped me on the shoulder as I was leaving which is so beyond inappropriate and told us that we didn’t tip on card. Not even checking the table for the cash we left her. So beyond inappropriate.
Don't let its location in a non-descript strip mall fool you. This decade old Thai eatery is worth a visit. The boneless duck is a must try.
Love the sashimi dinner
Five stars in every aspect! Quality of Food,
Beautiful Preparation of dishes,
Friendliness and Professionalism of staff,
Cleanliness of bathroom and ambience of dining room. Always fresh. Five stars all around!
handrolls can’t go wrong. +salmon skin
curry can’t go wrong. +shrimp +panang
VERY AFFORDABLE LUNCH MENU.
Love it
The Food is Amazing
Loved the tempura appetizer, pad thai, and lucky won ton soup. Highly recommend
Service is everything. Atmosphere means alot. Our table was not properly cleaned. The bathrooms had overflowing trash containers. Our server had more than could be possibly handled. It is obvious they are severely understaffed. The food was good but the wait for it was unacceptable and made it an overall bad experience. It would have been better to have placed the entire order 'to go' and to have served ourselves.
