Unassuming mainstay dishing up traditional Thai dishes like curry & noodles along with sushi.
This is my favorite place for Thai cuisine (I'm not an expert, but I know what I like).
I usually dine here once a year when I'm in the West Palm Beach area. It's not the most elaborate decor, but the food is the best I've found in the area. I always get the Pad Thai over rice. It's fabulous. The salad that comes with it is also special (although you wouldn't think it too look at as it has a topping of potato chips). The dressing that comes on it makes it. When I'm done, I'm tempted to lick the bowl its so good. As I said, the decor isn't much and the place is a tad dark, but the service is great and the people are friendly. Oh yes, the portions are large also, so come with a big appetite or you'll be going home with leftovers (as we often do). When they wrap your leftovers they also give you a generous portion of rice to go with it. I'll be back (hopefully sooner than a year).
BEST Thai food (in my opinion) available in West Palm Beach area. Shown below are their sweet and sour chicken and their beef with drunken noodle. CAUTION - seriously peppered in Thai tradition so, if you can't handle the heat I suggest you tell them either just a little pepper or no pepper at all.
The Food is great, and they have an extensive menu offering a wide range of different options. The padthai was delicious. I also like that they offer 4 different spice levels so you can adjust for your own taste. The big draw back for this restaurant is there is no AC… so it can get rather warm. If it wasn’t for that I would rate this place a 5 star.
Just moved to this area, I'm still in the Experimental phase of local restaurants, I am a sucker for thai food So this is one of the first places I tried, and i'm glad I did, It's a small humble establishment, but the food is delicious, Spicy and flavorful. I had the drunken noodles with beef, But the fried rice is also very good.
Salad was good
But main dish chicken is pretty stale and sauce is too much salted. It looked like not freshly made but 3 or 4 days old food
Best Thai food in town.
Amazing for the price and the quality was great! Ready very fast and is a respectful level of spice for what I asked for. Will order from here again.
Hubby and I have been visiting this establishment for over ten years and the food plus the service never disappoints. We moved out of the area, but still visit when in West Palm or in the mood for delicious Thai food. We have tried other restaurants but always return to our favorite spot!
Had food delivered paid up charge for fried rice with masaman curry, received regular poorly cooked regular rice and curry was flavorless , do not recommend
Food was not authentic. This place looks more like a high end night club. We couldn't even talk to person sitting across or right next to us. Our Pad Thai dishes Were actually mushy. Very unpleasant dining experience with high prices too go with it.
I grew up going here when I was 10, when I say I CRAVE this.. I live 45 minutes away and I haven’t been in years, I picked up takeout the other day and it’s exactly how I remember it. I now have kids of my own and was so excited to share this with them! Wish I had pictures to share but it didn’t last long enough once I got home! Thank you so much for doing such an amazing job!
I Love the red curry dishes.😘
Not going to lie I’ve only been here twice but I will say this place is a hidden gem I’m going to assume the server is also the owner because he’s the only guy I ever see there lol. The food is great honestly and the guy is so nice and professional if you never had Thai food this is the place you want to try it !! The dishes are so flavorful.
I have been going here for probably 20 to 25 years. My kids grew up eating their Pad Thai and the Thai iced tea is AMAZING!

This is definitely one of the best Thai places I've ever gone to. I usually eat here for lunch when I'm working in the area and it's never disappointing. And the prices are probably some of the best I've seen in the area. Very consistent everytime I come here and anytime I bring someone with me they are always impressed. Just wish I lived closer to here.
Edit: Had to take off a star place changed a lot was good food for the price and the portions but it seems like most places they have made changes. Sad to say I don't think I will be returning.
Update 2024! Under new management they have improved what was perfect. The panang curry is a must try and the fried rice is arguably the best when compared to other national cuisines. You’re missing out if you don’t make it here
It’s a hole in the wall
In WPB and far away from the fashionable downtown area, but it’s the best Thai food I’ve had in town . The food is always delicious and hot . I also like how quiet it is usually . I can come for lunch, plug in my headphones and hang out with good food . Also, the gentleman in charge is very nice and helpful with questions .
Awesome old Thai place. Good food
Best Pad Thai I've had in years. Great and quick service. Very clean and cozy.
Been coming here 20+ years. Food always good and large portions. Prices previously reasonable but due to price increases will need to scale back on visits less often.
Service amazing, pai thai, the best in West Palm Beach and Im already tried a lot, before just the best and they prepare a special dish for my wife , ummmm
Great place, great food and excellent service.
The food was so delicious!
These people ripped me off! They claimed that my card was declined and refused to show me a receipt. Turns out my card was not declined and the actually charged my card twice!!! i will NEVER eat here again! The food is not worth all this trouble!!!
Been going for years never disappointed
I’ve been eating at A1 Thai for roughly 34 years. It was by far my family’s favorite restaurant growing up. We used to stand in hour long lines over the weekend to get a table - sometimes dining there 2-3 times a week. My family joked that we bought all their new TVs one year because we ate there so much. They were the best and no other Thai restaurant in the area came close to the food that was made in their kitchen.
Last night, we visited A1 to find out that the restaurant is under new ownership. The menu has changed, the food has changed and with more changes being inevitable by an owner, everything you love about A1 Thai will be a thing of the past.
The perfectly delicious and original A1 spring rolls (6 pieces) have been replaced by regular spring rolls (4 pieces) appetizers that can be found at any and all Thai restaurants and frozen food section at your grocery store. The hot sauce that usually accompanied our meals (when asked) has been replaced with mismatched brand packets of soy sauce, red chili flakes from an Italian restaurant and Mexican hot sauce. It was random and made absolutely no sense. With the exception of the soy sauce (that used to be in bottles) nothing else belonged on the table of a Thai restaurant.
Gone are the days of delicious pre-meal salads with chips and peanut dressing, the server walking around with white rice to serve you as your meal was brought to the table and five star heat. The once free salad is $2 (more if you don’t purchase a meal) and white rice is now $2 a bowl. The sizzling chicken is completely different than what has been served for 34 years. In short, the new owner has raised prices significantly all while taking away the “perks” that A1 has been known for since I was 9 years old.
At the end of the meal, my kids were given Chinese fortune cookies - which again (along with the red pepper flakes from the Italian restaurant and the Mexican hot sauce) doesn’t belong in a Thai restaurant. The only saving grace of the night was that it seemed as though the chefs are relatively the same (for now) and are making the staples (shrimp fried rice, pad Thai, curries) the way we are accustomed to.
The father/son management duo are amazing and bring light into the restaurant. They are irreplaceable.
All in all, we will continue to dine at A1 Thai once in a while until the new owner makes it impossible for us to go back. Change is good but in this case - it is not. I’m sad to say that after over three decades, this may be the beginning of the end for our beloved A1 Thai.
Same place but the taste sucks. New management and new cooks. This is not what your looking for in the old A1 Thai restaurant. I spent 40 dollars for combination rice it used to be so so good. Its Chinese food now with no disrespect. I asked for duck sauce and was told I could have only one when I asked for three. I was a regular at this fine establishment until this. All good things come to an END...Goodbye A1
They are closed till October 2.
I believe this is Palm Beach county's oldest Thai restaurant. I wasn't even ten years old the first time I walk through the doors.... it was my 45th birthday yesterday. A hidden gem. So many great memories there and the food is definitely A1.
Very good food. Always fresh

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! My parents took me here all the time when I was young. I used to fake sick on Thursdays so that my mom would take me there for lunch for their soups. I believe Thursdays were the sweet beef and noodle soup, which is amazing. Their A1 spring rolls are out of this world. Everything on their menu tastes perfect. This is always my favorite place to go when I want authentic and tasty Thai food. I hope they always stay around!
Great little Thai restaurant. Been here for years. We had spring rolls and some Curry chicken with mixed vegetables.
Best chicken fried rice you can find
There’s a reason A 1 Thai has been around for a long as it has and that’s because they serve some of the best Thai food in the area.
I love the crispy spring rolls and of course the Pad Thai
Authentic thai restaurant. I've been a steady customer for 15 years. Consistently good!!
Love this place. I was referred to this place I never had thai food and I order the same thing every time: shrimp fried rice and veggie egg rolls. Service is always good and rapid food is fresh and tastes fresh full of flavor and great portion size. Keep the bowls, there durable. You have the choice of mild or spicy. Not costly. I'm a forever customer.
We loved the food, is cleaned and the service is awesome. Thanks for the food I did enjoy eating on this place
Food was amazing
Best thai food ever.
Just remodeled
Still the best around. I wish they served sushi, but it doesn't stop us from going back.
I love A-1 Thai !
This Thai restaurant is truly a hidden gem...!!
A must try...!!!
Good food and great service.
Loved the salad, the pad thai and the red curry and especially the service!!
Although the service wasn't exceptional the food certainly was. Haven't found a better tasting Thai restaurant to date. You won't be disappointed with the taste.
The best Thai lunch specials in Palm Beach - fast fresh and delicious food at a fair price. Prove me wrong.
If you want oily and greasy low priced meat and want your stomach to explode in the morning, this is your place. Not only did I get ignored upon entry (15minute wait time and they had 3 tables seated) but I was given my bill without recognition. After coming to this place I have found some better options and literally felt compelled enough to leave a review to warn others about this horrible service and overpriced garbage. Please save yourself and search elsewhere. Avoid at all costs.
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and almost 20 years later it is still the best tasting Thai food I have ever had. The same people have worked here the entire time and have always been kind.
Love it
Phenomenal food. It's up there with the best places in Palm Beach county.
Great place. Excellent food, and staff. Take out available.
I have been dining at a1 that for almost 20 years. The food is delicious and unpretentious. The pad Thai is not overly sweet like most places and you get chicken and shrimp. My go-to is always the beef with garlic and pepper. It's been in business for 36 years and the quality has always remained high.
👍👍👍
Great Staff, Service & Food!
Yes I did go to A1 it was good kind of expensive but I thought my kind of food it was his kind of food so I went with him and he liked it
Such an authenticate surprise. The food was an exact reminder of my trips to Thailand. Will certainly visit again.
Best Thai restaurant in Palm Beach County a little hard to find but it is directly on Military Trail on the east side of the road. I've been going there since I was about 10 years old and the food has not changed in over 30 years great stuff they have some of the best Pad Thai and Penang that you will ever have also there a one spring rolls are a must-try. Very friendly staff and good prices. Update went there for my birthday last night and it was very good... Keep in mind I've been going to the restaurant 34 years since it first opened.
They don’t answer the phone
Food was great and service was also on point. They have a quite and chill vibe, they were quick to serve us the food. It was nice and hot, they aren't kidding about the spiciness so be cautious. Would recommend :)
Best Thai food
I love Thai food and this place has amazing food.
Some of the best Thai you will find locally. Been going for years
Best Thai in Palm Beach. Pad Thai combo with chicken and shrimp is delicious. Just be careful with the spicy sauce, you get up to a five and it’s like lava.
The food is really good honestly probably one of the best Thai food I’ve had in south Florida but like they say every good thing isn’t always as good as it seems.
While waiting for our leftovers to be packed to go, my boyfriend and I saw a rat climb up from the electric line by the prep table. Seems like Ratatouille was going out for a smoke break.... all jokes aside we informed the restaurant and they seemed to not care.
As we left I noticed they have the kitchen door cracked open (rats probably going in & out) and the windows covered up so no one sees the Kitchen conditions.
Food was very tasty and the service was fantastic. Very friendly staff.
Very good food been going there for years
My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years and we've never been dissaponted. I've tried other Thai places, but nobody makes the "Chicken with vegetables" dish like A-1 Thai, thats my favorite! Their "Fried rice" is on my top list as well.
The quality and freshness of the food is amazing.
Excellent service and food!
This place has really authentic Thai food. If you have never tried Thai food or simply enjoys Thai food, give this place a shot. I highly recommend their Pad Thai!
Best Thai food in west palm beach
Simply delish 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Food was Delicious, service was bad need better waiter we weren't finished ordering he walked away he was rushing us to order.
Food is always great but ac could be lowered kind of hot in there
My favorite restaurant, period. Pad Thai my favorite thooo
The food is good, but the need to get better environment , a/c inside, and try to everity look clean.
Best chicken panang curry around.
Everything was exegetical. Great food at a great price.
Still the Best Thai food Around !! Pad Thai, the Beef Soup, the curries are awesome.
Foods great, trying to get thru, called a dozen times or more easy. I think expensive but again, the food, great!!!
Real thai food...
We have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years! We moved out of the area, but we return everytime we are in the area. Food is delicious...especially the Mee Crob and their peanut salad dressing. It looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but don't let looks deceive you.
Great good, nice place and excelent service.
Had a great experience, fried rice chicken was awesome to have. The tea was interesting but not sure who would like it more, those interested in unique somewhat sweet flavors or not. Had a unique but cool flavor to it.
This is my favorite place for Thai cuisine (I'm not an expert, but I know what I like).

Great food and great service
Their food is excellent. My favorite thai restaurant.
Place was amazing. They were extremely accommodating to my daughters diet and the duck and curry were made to perfection.
Not quite Thai food feeling. It felt more like a Chinese environment, food was full of vegetable and it was just not quite good. Not worth it.
Food was excellent but there was a smell of ammonia in here almost like cat urine next time I order it will be take out
Great pad Thai
Super exited they were open for dining and not just take out.
The coconut chicken soup and the spring rolls were fantastic!
It's not as good as I remember. First off, the guy who took my order over the phone wasn't pleasant at all. I placed a $55 order to go, the shrimp toast was the best I've had but I have only had it 2 other times at other places and wasn't impressed so I recommend the shrimp toast at A1 so far. I also ordered the shrimp pad thai and coconut curry with shrimp and they were both good but the pad thai didn't have enough pad thai sauce making it lack flavor but fortunately I had some jarred pad thai sauce in my fridge which saved the meal. The shrimp curry was good too but kinda watery and very spicy. I asked for a 1 out of 5 spice but it was like a 3. I use to love this place.. I will check the reviews in a few months and see what they say.. I want to love them again. Regardless, if the order taker isn't friendly next time I am just gonna 86 them off my list indefinitely.
The best Penang chicken curry ever
Not impressed at all with the quality, atmosphere, portions, or waiters. Usually most places excel in at least one of the above. I give it two stars simply because I was fed and no one was terribly rude but I decided to try this place based on the recommendation of a coworker. However I won't make it back here because everything was below average. When it comes to A1 Thai, don't bother!
We ended up having dinner there by chance because we where riding our bikes around the neighborhood and decided to look on Google maps nice places where to eat. This one caught our attention due to the good reviews it had and they where not mistaken. Delicious food, fresh and big portions and a very good original Thai flavor. The Thai tea was so yummy too!😁
I've been a regular customer for several years and never once have been disappointed, just can't get enough, hands down my wife and I favorite Mom & Pop restaurant in PBC 😄
We ordered Pad Thai this evening and it was terrible. The shrimp was overcooked, hardly any meat in the pad Thai meat order, the noodles were bland and dry, and they charge a $4.95 fee for pick up! I am researching to see if this is lawful and will contact the better business bureau about this restaurant and it’s practices. Do not eat here you will be disappointed and the place is a dump inside and staff not friendly.
Best Thai food on a price range that I have taste in West Palm Beach
Great restaurant for special occasions
Great food here. Authentic Thai, freshly cooked and great friendly staff. No beer licence though but you can byo.
Outstanding and delicious
I usually don't write restaurant reviews but I had to for this restaurant. I ordered food for pick up during the pandemic. This was the worst food I have had in a long time. The food was tasteless, the chicken was extremely tough and dry. The other person who ate the food with me voiced the same criticism and wound up getting diaherra. I am not sure how this place gets great reviews but they are false. If you want really good authentic Thai food go to Wattana Thai Restaurant. As for me I will never eat there again and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.
I used to love the food especially the spicy rice. I ordered the spicy rice with shrimp through DoorDasher. The rice was not spicy it was average run of the mill rice. It was over price
This place used to be phenomenal but the last time I had it it was not good. And then my family tried it again and it was also not good… I don’t understand why it’s inconsistent because it used to be sensational… Sadly the third time will not be the charm because we won’t go back…
My children and I love this place but unfortunately the inconsistency is becoming a problem. They have wonderful food but it just depends on who is cooking it for the night!
Best Thai food ever. Really missing the old Royal Palm Beach location...
Fast, fresh food. Friendly service and great pad thai!
Super good food for reasonable prices. The red curry was on point, not too spicy but spicy enough for me to feel the heat. I specifically got the pork red curry which was nice and tender, able to soak up the juices from the curry and still have a delicious porky tatse
Pretty good food
Good food here - service good but no re fils on soda , however would go again .
The padthai was very good.
Very very good and very reasonabke prices
It was A11111
After living in West Palm for over three years, I have had other ‘good’ Thai food, but A1 Thai is phenomenal! It is my favorite place to eat in West Palm by far. The Tom Yum Khar soup is what I come in for every time, but we’ve tried so many of their dishes and they are each incredible.
I am on a low-carb diet and they always accommodate my needs (like tonight’s Sizzling Chicken is rice and noodle free). This is where I bring all of my family and friends.
It's like my second family! I've been going here since 1988! Best Thai ever! Curry is amazing! Dream worthy! Home!
So amazingly wonderful!! I travel from the Daytona area twice a year. Of course I bring home about 300.00 worth of food. It's still wonderful...for at long as it lasts
Consistent excellent service and delicious dishes.
Tiny little place with some of the best Thai food I've ever had! Highly recommended!
Worst Thai food ever.I don't know who is giving this Place 5 star but they sure have never had good Thai food. Place smells like cat litter box and food is tasteless. Don't be fulled by the stars.
If you go here, you will not be dissapointed. Honestly, its the best thai food ive ever had. Their rice and curry is unbeatable and the only reason a1 hasnt blown up in popularity is because of the location
Always awesome meals never had a bad experience here in 15 years.
Consistently really good food!
Love the food. Small family oriented restaurant
Always consistent quality food. I eat here 3 times a month and can't find other Thai restaurants that are as good
Love this restaurant! Excellent food.
Very pleasant service and staff.
Nice local authentic place.
Great food and good servie
The Pa Nang was good but I think my aunt has been going there to long and they're sick of her.
Delicious food for years now and the A1 Spring Rolls are the best.
The absolute best So thankful to our friends who brought us here for our first but definitely not our last time. Mmmm mmm So fresh flavorful
I know most of the reviews on here clarify a positive experience. That's what I thought as well, when my boyfriend, who is Caucasian, told me that it was a great restaurant to get amazing Thai food. However, when we got to the place, we waited about 10 minutes, before we just seated ourselves. Considering it was kind of busy, we brushed it off. But then, there was this Asian waitress who kept walking around the table, without stopping at our table, and giving me the death eye look, like I did something to her, which was highly unprofessional. She did not come to our table to get us drinks or take our order, or did any other person that worked there. Maybe it was really busy that they forgot about us, or maybe the waitress just didn't like the fact that we are a mixed couple, considering the majority of the attendees were Caucasian. Whatever the reason, no customer at a restaurant should be treated in this kind of manner. We finally left after 20 minutes of inappropriate staring by the waitress, and the fact that nobody attended to us. Let's just say, when my boyfriend came to get carryout a few weeks later from the restaurant, with me sitting inside the car, the same waitress we saw actually greeted him with some respect and class, and he got our order in a timely manner. I hope your waitresses get trained better in how they treat their own ethnic groups, or even mixed couples that walk into your restaurant. (:
Update: 3 YEARS LATER, so I got a notification that my review was being seen by 503 people lol, and decided to update it. I went there recently with my friend and everything was great, owner was friendly and food was amazing!
Always good, either dine-in or take-out.
