The place looks authentic, but it has nothing to do with authenticity. I've had Tom Yum about 100 times, cooked it myself around 30 times, and I know not only how it tastes but also how it should look. I've been to Thailand, so I know what I'm talking about.

The Tom Yum with seafood I ordered had nothing in common with the real dish besides the name. Not every spicy soup with seafood can be called Tom Yum.

There was too little coconut milk, and the spiciness was unpleasantly harsh, rather than the enjoyable heat a real Tom Yum should have.

The tomatoes should be cherry, not regular ones roughly chopped. Red onion might be acceptable, but not in such large amounts. And all this for $20?

I don’t recommend it. Never coming back.

I found this takeout joint recently and I am glad I did .I am in love with their food 😍 I love their Thai hot Tofu pad thai. No many joints satisfy my spice levels, but Thai mama is an exception. My husband is on the milder side though, and there is nothing to worry about as cthey got all spice levels covered. They are quick to take orders and food impressed me everytime .

I had panang curry for the first time and I really liked it. The curry was soupy. I mixed all my jasmine rice with it, and it's so good. The portion is good for at least two servings.

I got it medium spicy but it was a bit spicier than I expected. I have had better Thai food but this place is not bad. I would give them another try more. Their prices are not bad at all. They’re cheaper than other Thai places in the area. You get plenty of food. They’re fast by the time I ordered and got there it was ready to go. Plenty of parking too

The thai tea was really sweet and ruins the after taste. Does NOT hit the spot. The pad thai is an abomination. Didn't know it could be ruined like that. It was soaked in oil and the something smelled fermented ruining the taste and smell. The only saving grace was their green curry. If you get anything, stick to the curries. Enjoy.

Small mom and pop business that is definitely worth a visit! My first visit tried the Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai, both meals were great!

I have visited Thai Mama a few times in the last several years, and every time I go, it is absolutely outstanding! The food is great better than any other Thai restaurant I have been to in Carrollwood Or Tampa so far.
My only complaint is that they are only a takeout place and not really a dine in type of place. It’s still excellent. You can always go to a picnic area or your office lol. I took it home this time and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Stopped in by accident and now it's a new favorite! Was easy to make vegan substitutions and the massaman curry was fastastic, great flavor profile and the tofu was fried prefectly, the pineapple fried rice with tofu instead of egg had a great spice and the veggies were all very fresh. Can't wait to go back!

I had the Pineapple Curry and it was delicious! I went with three friends and we all loved it! My food was mild (as I ordered) and my friends were very happy with the amount of "heat" they wanted. This is definitely on my list of favorite restaurants. Seating is minimal.

Really wonderful Thai food. Only reason for 3 stars on atmosphere is that it’s take-out only which isn’t a knock. It’s just that atmosphere isn’t really a factor. I ordered the spring rolls, panang curry and chicken fried rice. Everything was delicious and I look forward to trying more items on the menu!

This is Take Out only. Its not noticeable from road except a small sign.. its on the very left of the strip mall. Look up website for address. Very small counter. Short wait. I got Red Curry hot. When I hot home and opened it smelled so good. The rice was fluffy. The Red Curry was one of th re best I have had in this area. And it was hot spicy. They use fresh ingredients and a lot of flavor. This is my new goto for Asian.

We asked for the Tom Kah Gai and for the beef fried rice, excellent quality, amazing flavor. Best Thai place we have tried, highly recommend, just take not that is not a sit-in restaurant, they have just have a couple of tables in case you want to eat there but is mainly carry out. Excellent place, great food and great service.

This spot? Husband and wife-owned, dishing out real deal Thai takeout with big flavors. It's got that charming hole-in-the-wall vibe that we absolutely adore.

Let me tell you about their veggie wonton noodle soup - it's my medicine. I swear, I order it every time I'm feeling a little under the weather (or just having a serious craving).

Now, the only downside is they shut shop on the weekends to gear up for the week. But honestly, it's worth the weekday wait!

Having lived in Thailand in my early 20’s I often called it my second home. After coming back to the states I struggled to find even half decent Thai food.. don’t go to any other spot in Tampa!! Trust me I’ve tried them all, this family cooks authentic Thai cuisine and if you want it spicy, you can get it SPICY!! Seriously this is the place to eat if you want real flavor.

I really like my yellow Curry but never had it with pineapple. So was the noodles. The crab rangoon wasn't the best I've had, not sure there was any crab in it but it tasted good with the duck sauce.

On a recommendation from the Comfort Suites staff down the street I gave them a try. Wow they are right! Food is songbook, nice portion size and fair price. The Pad Kee Mao or Drunken Noodles were perfect. The right amount of sauce, not swimming in it, and the proportions of items to noodles was well balanced. Wish I had more time to go back. Owners are a husband and wife team and she is from Thailand. Cannot get more authentic than that.

GAWD awful - have NO IDEA what other reviews are about. Ordered two large Tom Ka soups with extra shrimp plus spring rolls. Handed two soups w extra shrimp PLUS two orders of jumbo shrimp, plus spring rolls and a bill for $73. We were starving but threw most away and spent the rest of the day feeling sick. Shrimp in soup was old and chewy, Jumbo shrimp was stringy, old, coated with a very thick layer of inedible, oil-soaked dough! NEVER AGAIN!

Hands down best home made Thai food in tampa, Lek (Thai mama) and Glenn (Thai papa) are wonderful people and such hard workers. I can always count on Thai mama to satisfy my appetite. The spicy beef pad Thai and chicken fried rice are awesome. I never go without an order ofThai egg rolls! Drunken noodles are delicious, Crab Rangoon’s are yummy too. Thai donuts are a must have as well.

The soup was yummy beyond words-better than anything I have had-ever!!

Did Uber eats, gave specific instructions no mushrooms, no bamboo shoots, chop and dice chicken….none of that happened. Called and asked for a manager…he said we got none of those instructions….then got confrontational with me and added no resolution to the problem….and said how is this my problem….seriously?

No accountability….will never order from here again and will tell others of my experience.

Every time I go there, the man working the counter is always so sweet and tells me to be careful because it's really hot and to make sure I have a fantastic night. I thought the tofu was way too over cooked the first time, so this time I ordered fresh tofu and it was perfect. Spice levels were on point. I ordered tom kha. And then also yellow curry with vegetables and fresh tofu(it usually comes with pineapple so personally I order without) I get Thai hot) it's the perfectly spicy.The flavors are always so yummy. Let me just start by saying after I ordered my food I called them up to tell them how good my food tasted wow!!! I ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken and two eggrolls it’s the best sweet-and-sour chicken I’ve ever had in my life hands-down I go by there all the time and I kept meaning to try it out I kept reading the reviews and I’m like man this place must be pretty good I’m gonna just drive over there and get something well… wow!! I called them back on the phone and told them to go back there and tell your cooks man that this is like the best sweet-and-sour chicken I’ve ever had in my life it was so good and so here I am writing this review this place is really really good I’m gonna go back and try like so much more stuff I’m gonna probably go there like once a week now and it’s like healthy what a difference between this and even Chinese take out or restaurants with Hibachi there’s no comparison I’ll never order from Tokyo again unless I want sushi👍

I tried this place for the first time last night and when I picked up my food I was asked to leave a review. I’m a little conflicted and here is why… I ordered Thai egg rolls, steamed dumplings and chicken pad Thai medium spicy. While the tastes were very on point, the egg rolls were not crispy kind of soggy, the dumpling dough was rubbery and like several other reviews the portion size of the noodles in the pad Thai was small. Like I said, the tastes were delicious. Not sure yet if I’ll go back.

I absolutely love eating from here. I frequent and my absolute favorite dishes are their Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. On the sweeter side, their donuts and Mango sticky rice are to die for!

Holy smokes. This place is too legit. I just got the Thai Hot Green Curry and it’s fantastic. I want curry to blow smoke out of my ears. This is the real deal. 15 out of 5 madones. Take care, brush ya hair, don’t rub your eyes.

Thai Mama is serving up some delicious dishes that are perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients and accurate portion size. I had the Pork Won Ton Soup. A lot of places ruin this soup with overly salting or adding too much oil or butter. That's not the case with Thai Mama’s prep of this item. Their preparation tasted light and fresh with broccoli, carrot, cabbage, zucchini, bean sprouts. I also tired their Drunken Noodles - stir fried pad Thai with broccoli, egg, carrot and Thai oyster sauce. This dish by itself also tasted light and bursting with delis opus goodness. The veggies were cooked through yet crunchy, the noodles were soft but not mushy. The oyster sauce portion was perfectly balanced to draw out the overall flavor without any overpowering of any one ingredient. I decided to combine these two items together that resulted in a hearty and mouthwatering noodle soup with meat, wonton, veggies, and broth. SECRET TIP : Combined these two items complemented each other while enhancing the taste, in my opinion 10 fold. :-) I was thrilled at this discovery. I did delivery this time, so this review is strictly on the food. When it's safer I will surely return to try more of their items.

The egg rolls were just super amazing. Extremely fresh and crispy, not oily or greasy in the least. I could have eaten a dozen of those rolls and it would have made my day. The curry was so scrumptious as well.

It was very hot, which is what I love but the flavors are still singing through. The various spices with that coconut milk backdrop is what keeps me coming back even though my mouth is on fire and I'm sweating.

This is definitely a place I will return to see what other magical meals are available.

We got the chicken pad Thai and chicken sweet and sour. The pad thai tasted like it has rotted and the chicken sweet & sour sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce and was watery. We frequently eat Thai food and love trying new places but unfortunately won’t be back here. I hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses but it was genuinely bad. Our concern was that it really did seem like something had rotted and/ or gone bad in the food.

Thai Mama sets the bar for Thai food!! Their panang curry is the perfect blend and the awesome sauce is exactly that - awesome! Don’t ask me what it is because I don’t know, but the flavor of every single thing I’ve tried is on point. Takeout & delivery is always hot when we eat it. The customer service is wonderful. So grateful to work down the street from here!

Pad Thai was tasty and a good portion. I requested Thai hot for this dish. While it was hot, it was not quite Thai hot. The Calamari tasted good, but the portion was small.

I regularly eat here every week and maybe twice in a week. I love the drunken noodles. I had tried them in some other places and it can't be compared. I just call ahead so the order is ready by the time I get there and it is always freshly made.

Absolutely delicious food. Everything, everytime is hot and fresh. However, portion can be hit or miss. My only recommendation to this place is please be consistent (and generous) with the portion. It is very disappointing when you open the container to eat and its just half of what you used to typically get. Hence taking off one star.

This is another great spot in this area. The food is just amazing around here. The flavors were so spectacular and the staff was so good to us.

I ordered the shrimp pad Thai and requested Thai hot. It was spicy and delicious! The shrimp to noodle ratio was impressive. The shrimp were ample, large, and perfectly cooked. This is the only Thai restaurant in Tampa that I have tried that can execute Thai hot that makes me sweat and sniffle. I recommend giving it a shot!

The curry (yellow and green) was very good as well as the pad thai. They were a bit spicier than expected for being medium, may try mild next time. otherwise great

Was here a couple days ago we ordered egg rolls, mild panang curry and hot pad Thai, everything was really delicious!! We were searching for a good Thai spot and we found this based on the catchy Thai Mama logo. The restaurant used to be a food truck but upgraded to a free standing restaurant (in the plaza right next to Thinh An Kitchen, if you know good Vietnamese pho 🙃)

We got the drunken noodles, the red curry, and the papaya salad all with medium Thai spice.

5 stars all the way around! You can tell the love that’s put into the food and it comes out quick.

We traveled from clear across town to get it, too!

Today Shirley and I drive from Orlando to Tampa to try Thai Mama. We order Chicken Pad Thai was Amazing on Take away box，a lot of egg， bean sprout cooked perfectly。 Sauce was delicious，Shirley like the green onion，
most scallion was cook so tasty blend in with the sauce.
I will be back to order again. Service was great， family oriented，I like Glen asking me how is plate spicy level.
Because this is the best part of thai Food.

We were visiting Florida recently and ordered for a large party. The person taking our order was very efficient and transparent. The food was very tasty and inexpensive. Highly recommend!!

I got my favorite chicken pad thai and it was delicious, filled with flavor and chicken. The portion size was generous and when I got home it was still piping hot. I will be back again soon!

Very good. They let us eat inside and gave us proper silverware. I believe they gave us free drinks, i can't tell, my boss paid. We got Thai hot, and their ultra spicy levels did not disappoint me. I was very happy with my seafood, beef, chicken, fried rice and tom yum soup. The tom yum soup was unique, even though it was so spicy, it was actually sweet when it cooled down. Price is a bit high for me, but I don't have a job. But for lower middle class and up, the price is decent for quality.

The food was extremely bland and very liquidy there was a high amount of oil in my pad Thai. There is almost no egg or chicken it was just a ton of noodle oil and a bland liquidy sauce. My mom had drunken noodles it was pretty much the same I'm really not sure how it got this many five-star reviews I'm wondering if they were almost bought at this point. I would stick to lemongrass the Thai restaurant on boy scout road or even some of the Thai restaurants in oldsmar this was highly disappointing. I was excited to support a new Thai restaurant but I don't think I'll be returning to this one again

I still eat here! Get the crab fried rice and parang curry. They moved to a brick and motor take out location off waters.

I only went to Thai Mama because it’s nearby and had great reviews. I’ve ordered pineapple curry with beef $14.99 (hot) and beef phad $11.99 (medium) and also two Thai tea.

The portions were small for the price. I was charged $2 extra for beef. The pineapple curry was ok and definitely not hot at all. The phad Thai was not good. The Thai tea was way too sweet.

The guy was on the phone while preparing my drink. He didn’t have his face mask covering over his mouth and was talking on the phone over the cup.

Not sure how this place has good ratings! Probably the Worst ever Thai food I had. Bad taste, unauthentic Thai food!

I ordered the crab fried rice and it was excellent. They even helped me make a decision on what dish to order since it was my first time at a Thai restaurant. Great service and excellent food. I’ll be back.

Omg there coconut curry is amazing and the dumplings the aroma and taste the spices are so delicious 😋 will be here again ! So Nice had to post it twice ! Craving so bad had to do Uber eats !

I have searched for over 20 years for an authentic THAI restaurant. Mama Thai is the best I have ever tasted. My favorite is the Pad Thai and fresh rolls.

I ordered my food for delivery around 12pm. They charged me almost $30.00 for the delivery, the order was in process for almost 2 hours and after that they cancel the order saying the restaurant was "temporary closed", schedule a refound that was going to take from 5 to 7 business days, and notify me after the app said the order was on its way. This was my first and last order here.

Tried on door dash, it was incredible. I am VERY critical of Thai food, because as a white girl from Wisconsin- I have strived to master Thai flavors in my own cooking. This was so so good. I had the medium red curry and the fried rice without tomato. My only critique would be for them to have side order soups for delivery and the ability to add condiments like prikh nam pla or chili oil for an up charge! Also stop hating on her for being closed on the weekends, if she can run her business and still stay closed on the weekends more power to her.

Is there a good reason you guys are always closed? I mean I get being a small business, but closed on Saturday afternoon??? You’d get a five star if you were open.

This Thai food is amazing, you can taste good ingredients and love put into the food. My favorite items were the red curry and the pad thai. Everything tasted great and I will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I were craving Thai the other day, Googled some places for to go pick up, gave this place a chance.

Nice friendly and professional ordering experience.When I got there to pick up the order, I was really delighted to see the place neat and clean.

Panang Curry was phenomenal, some of the best I’ve had. I will definitely keep this place in my weekly rotation for dinner.

Had my first experience with Thai Mama for lunch today and had the Panang Curry with chicken / medium heat and rice. My dish achieved a delicate balance between sweet and spicy, and could not have been better. Chicken was tender and rice was fluffy fresh. Can't wait to explore the rest of the menu on future visits!

Great flavors in the drunken noodles and pad thai. We really enjoyed it. Will come back again.

This food is Amazing. I've never eaten Thai food until "Thai Mama" and I am hooked. Good food, good flavor , good portions size, good people!!! Taste like home cooking to me !!!!!!

Just tried this place for the first time and I know I’ll absolutely be back! I got the panang chicken curry and it was so good, fresh ingredients, and full portions! I ordered to go because of Covid but it was fast and hot when I picked it up. Finally a good Thai restaurant in Tampa!

Phenomenal! First time customers trying a few things out. Where to begin? The papaya salad was fresh. The crab fried rice was heavenly. Pad see ew and panang curry were over the top good. To finish it off we had the mango and sticky rice, IT WAS TO DIE FOR!!! We will be back!!

Ordered for pickup for the office today as I was craving me some Mama Thai, best in the Bay Area and I want to support local business during this time. Ordering was quick and easy--had us text the order and then they text back confirmation and questions. Food was hot and ready at the time they said for pickup and the owner was so nice ensuring all items were boxed and order was correct. He placed the food in a large box for easier carrying since we had over 8 orders. I opted for the Ginger Veggie as I didn't want meat. And WHOA was it fabulous!!!! So fresh tasting and full of aroma. Mmmmmm. I'll definitely have to get this again next week. :)

Delicious food

Tom yum wasn’t spicy at all (asked for maximum heat), barely had any sort of flavor to it.The whole order was underwhelming to say the least. Did even want to finish what I ordered after a few bites, what a waste of $30.

The food here is really really good but unfortunately I will not be going back. The second to last time I went there I told them I was allergic to carrots and of course there were carrots in my food. I know people make mistakes so I went back another day and this time there was HAIR in my food. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on you. I will not go for a third time to be disappointed or disgusted. I didn't even waste my time to call and let them know because the owner can be rude and careless. If anybody knows of another place that has good thai food PLEASE let me know I have been wanting some but I refuse to go back there.
