First time at this restaurant as we were seeing a show at Straz and so looked for a restaurant close by. Amazing find! Good wine/cocktails choice and the food was delicious- perfect spice for me! The service was quick and polite and we didn't feel rushed. We would drive the 50 minutes back to Tampa just to eat here again!!

Si-am is a gem in the heart of downtown Tampa! I ordered the Pad Drunken Noodles and they were delicious, piping hot, and full of flavor. The entree came with a soup and spring roll which were also great. Thai tea was a perfect addition with my hot noodles. The service was fast and the restaurant itself is beautiful. If you love Thai food, this is a must try!

I love Thai food, especially Panang Curry with chicken. I've never been to Thailand but have tried this dish in other major cities, and I think this is my favorite place so far. The flavors were fantastic! This place is downtown and has great atmosphere. I will be back to try another dish.

Very nice server. Her runner, however, never brought us black pepper and new napkins despite requesting it several times. At some point, we stood up and took the napkins and the spices we wanted from the next empty table, but still no black pepper. I ordered the "shut up and eat" surprise meal, and it really should've been called a "fools meal." For $29 and the description from the menu, I felt like I was going to enjoy something special that the chef enjoyed. Well, it was just bland stir-fried beef with carrots and broccoli served over steamed rice. It was not even spicy, despite asking for spicy. It didn't seem to have even the basic herbs and spices you'd expect. And again, I couldn't get pepper to season it myself. I was definitely a sucker for trying to enjoy myself, but it was just a way for them to sell excess inventory and old food to the next idiot that buys it. I have authentic Thai food every time I go to Thailand on my way to my familys home country, Vietnam, but I wasn't expecting this to be so completely white washed.

I am in awe of this Restaurant. I really love the clean, good clean food that is served there. The fact that they have a selection of brown rice is also admirable. The prices are reasonable, and there is ambience in case you want to have a romantic dinner.

This has been my go to Thai place in Tampa for years. I’ve tried Thai at every place in Tampa and this is the best one by far. The food always comes out very quickly and the people are always super nice.

Best Thai food in Tampa. Delicious, filling, everything on the menu is great. I try to have a different menu item each time I visit and I've never been disappointed. They are closed Sundays, which is a little disappointing because it seems like that's when I'm always in the area. But worth going out of your way to go here. Great ambiance inside. Plenty of seating, yet it still feels intimate. Best of all, when their phone rings for a to-go order, it sounds like the intro to a Say Anything song.

We figured we'd give this place a shot as our usual was closed today. A little disappointed in portions. I ordered the Massamun Curry which came with two tiny pieces of chicken. The flavor was really great, however portion wise this place is definitely below average compared to other local thai restaurants.

So an unexpected treasure next to Tampa Theatre. Atmosphere was cozy and decor a little bit of cheesy with beautiful authentic looking thai themes. Service was excellent as everyone working waited in everyone, they made it work and you were never looking for your server. Apparently they do take red evasiva but you need to call when they are open website does not have reservation method listed. Caught a show at Tampa theater and had dinner there first. Glass of wine came with a free Tampa theater glass. Bonus! Pricing very reasonable, overall 5 stars for this local treasure.

Haven’t done a review in a while but this one deserved a review. We are from Atlanta and were visiting Tampa for spring break. This place did not disappoint! Never thought that one of the best Thai restaurants would be right here in downtown Tampa. Atlanta has some of the best Thai places in the country, but this is right up there amongst the best.

Friendly and peaceful environment and if you should need substitutions the answer is " no problem"! Very impressive and my family is very happy!

I had take out Chicken Pad Drunken Noodle that was Thai Hot++ (EXTREME HEAT—I love spice) with Chicken. The chicken was luscious, delicate, and delectable. The noodles were perfect, and the spice brought real tears to my eyes. I say this as a chef who’s worked in fine dining and a Michelin Star restaurant, go check them out. If you don’t want to dine in, order take out, or delivery. I didn’t take any pictures of the Pan, but I’m adding a pic of the duck I had a few months back for perspective.

Masaman curry and the "Awesome" stir fry were delicious! The chicken and rice soup was surprisingly an absolute treat to enjoy before the meal.

Great tasting Thai food with a wide variety of menu items. I have eaten in house and take out and the quality of the food stays consistent. The Manager on shift last night (10/30/2023) went above and beyond to make sure we received everything we ordered. Highly recommend for lunch if you work in downtown or dinner if you live around the area!

I saw this on the menu and I just had to go for it! This is my first time here. My only request was that I don't like sea food. I ended up with the puff pastry, spring roll and dumpling to start. Then I me entrée ended up being Thai basil with ground chicken. I HIGHLY recommend this option for all picky eaters.... as I am one myself lol I'm waiting on dessert, but the flavors in these dishes really pack a punch! I also found out this was the first day they added this option in their menu!! I told them how awesome this option is and I look forward to bringing my friends just to try it out!! Lol totally worth it!

Visited this Thaimerican restaurant last weekend with some friends and really enjoyed the food and rice wine! The flavors were great and food was hot! Our server even offered to take a group pic of us all! My ONLY complaint was it was SUPER stuffy in the restaurant due to the air being out. Other than that, I would say I definitely recommend and will be back!

When adding protein they are very skimpy with the meat and I mean skimpy. Less than a drumstick when adding chicken. How cheap is that. This is a bummer cause I thought I found my new Thai place. I ordered the amazing with quarter duck as my protein and I was NOT disappointed. The duck was cooked to perfection, the sauce was filled with flavor and the service was impeccable. Needless to say this is my new go to spot for Thai food.
The atmosphere is perfect, my 4 year old couldn’t stop saying how beautiful the restaurant was. If you haven’t tried this spot in downtown yet you’re missing out.

Wonderful food

Easily one of the best Thai restaurants in Tampa Bay. The place was packed when we arrived, but we didn't wait long to be seated and service, despite being very busy, was extremely efficient, fast. I had the sampler appetizer, Tom kha soup, Thai tea, Mango sake, and panang seafood. Everything was nothing short of excellent. Atmosphere is authentic and decor is on point. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back!

I really enjoyed this place. The main entre was really delicious and I really liked the ambiance. On of our appetizers was cold in the middle which made us think they were pre-made a d frozen. I'd still recommend going here.

Update - we came back, as promised, for a pre-show dinner. Service was better this time - still some points need improvement - but the food is great and some of the staff were more attentive and friendly.

The food was superb. The service was very disappointing- we stopped for dinner before a show with some out of town friends and everything was extremely slow. Our food was plopped down on the table by an apparently impatient and rushed “food runner” an four friend had to stand up to grab silverware from another table since our table had none.
We only saw our waitress when we finally had to flag her down to get the check and our friend never got his beverage. When he addressed that with her, and he said he didn’t want it anymore because we were leaving for a pressing curtain time - she asked if he wanted the beverage off the check ???? 🤷‍♂️ 😂 the question was so absurd we just laughed it out.
Hope to try again and give them another chance to step up the service to meet, at the very least, basic restaurant service expectations and this give the the full five star review to match their food.

This is the best Thai food in Tampa!

We had food delivered via Uber eats and we both kept saying how delicious it was!! They even have gluten free soy sauce so I was able to get gf fried rice and oh my goodness it was so good! Highly recommend!

Sat in the lobby for 10 minutes with empty tables all over the place and couldn’t get seated. Staff just kept telling us to wait.

Came in this past Friday, Feb 24th around 8pm. My date and I decided to call & order take out since the dine in wait for two people would have been about a half hour. When we arrived, we went straight to the pick up area of the restaurant. The both of us waited, we were just standing there as multiple employees passed us several times and didn’t even acknowledge with a simple “hello”. I could MAYBE understand if the restaurant was super packed for this type of service but it wasn’t. My date was the one who finally said something to one of the male employees so we could pay for our order (which was one of the employees who passed us several times without saying anything). Our order was ready at the pick up counter (Chicken fried rice & Pineapple fried rice) and was hot, food was very good. For me, service and hospitality is just as important as the food and I feel as though the service we received was bare minimum. Unfortunate, we were both excited to try this place, most likely won’t be back.

Extremely rude staff. We showed up 10 mins late for our reservation (10 people with 4 small children). There was no one at the front to seat us so we waited at the lobby for 10 minutes. The hostess then tells us she cannot seat us until the entire party arrives. We tell her the rest of them are right outside (big group) and we go to bring them in.

In the 2 minutes it takes us to call them in, she goes off to take orders at 3 other tables before walking right past us to seat other guests who showed up after us. Then she starts yelling loudly at us about how we were 20 minutes late and they were "waiting" for us. We weren’t going to take any chances eating at a place that treats guests this way, so we went to Haiku down the street which had top notch service.

I am really not sure how this place is so highly rated- must be take out or very old reviews that aren't relevant.

Needless to say, I do not recommend this place.

this place is amazing! i brought my girlfriend here for valentine’s day and we both loved it. we started with the chicken satay, it was AMAZING. so well seasoned and both of the dipping sauces were great. i got the massaman curry and she got the green curry, both were absolutely delicious. for desert we got the mango sticky rice and wow, it has to be a new favorite thing of mine. decorations inside were really great and our server was very kind!! it’s a little pricy for my college student budget, but i’d say it’s well worth it!!

The food here is just barely okay. I'm not sure how they have a 4.5 rating. Spring rolls had no flavor. "Amazing" dish was okay but had almost no broccoli even though it was supposed to be on a bed of broccoli. The eggplant dish had 3 pieces of eggplant. Servings sizes are small for the price but they spread it out on a small platter so you think your getting more than is actually there. Service was poor which I know is just a sign of the times but we didn't even get water until after our appetizers came 40 minutes after being seated.

I just had dinner here recently after not visiting for years, since I no longer work in the area, and the food, service, decor is even better than I remember! Love Si-Am!! ❤️

I would like to start off by saying I felt a bad vibe when I first walked into this restaurant. We waited to be seated while the staff walked past us without being greeted, no pleasant smile, no just a second, we waited at the door while they took their time to properly greet us. #customerservice101 🚩🚩🚩 at that very moment my date suggested that we leave but I wanted to stay because it was raining and I did not want to jump from restaurant to restaurant.

PROS- The restaurant location is nice (downtown Tampa), the restaurant decor is nice it gives you a cozy feeling. the soup was very tasty, the spring rolls were very tasty as well however,

CONS- Entrées need very much a big improvement not only is the food very blend, the fried rice is NOT really fried rice, more like just stemmed rice, the WOK is for fried rice FYI also they’re over pricing you for such a small portion & when I say SMALL I mean small. One thing we all know Asian cuisines etc Thai always give plentiful dishes. This is certainly overrated. I will certainly not visit again. I very much felt like I was being taken advantage of as a customer. The photos look plentiful but trust me it’s not,the photos are close up. They forgot to add flavor to the food🥴🥴

I have experienced plenty other Thai restaurants by far the food is not authentic as you claim, also my date & I experience that same cocky attitude that you’re displayed in your reply when we was present in your restaurant. Unfortunately you can’t clean up “My experience” no you can’t make everyone happy however, as a business owner myself YOUR REPLY SAYS IT ALL. Most unhappy customers won’t leave a bad review, they just don’t return, I’m not most . I’ll continue going to Jubao Noodle Bar where the food is more authentic . Thank you for the reply.

Thai food was good and you can choose your own spice level which I liked! The dishes weren’t the cleanest, glass cups were spotty and utensils were sticky so I didn’t appreciate that part but aesthetically pleasing.

Cozy, opulent interior, excellent service and lots of tasty vegan options. There is a small outside seating area that appears to be dog-friendly. Highly recommended for upscale Thai food that is reasonably priced.

The duck was crazy good

Lovely restaurant, I loved the decor and the food is very nice. I had the red curry with tofu and it was delicious. The sweet and spicy were beautifully balanced. Also love that they make the rice into a heart☺️

Food had good flavor but was wayyyy to salty, to a point where I couldn’t finish my meal due to the salt content

This is a fantastic Thai food restaurant that we discovered on a Monday evening. There were four of us and we started with fried veggie spring rolls and crab rangoon. Both came out quickly and were perfectly fried and had excellent taste. Then the main entrees came and were equally as tasty. I tried the standard Pad Thai with shrimp and broccoli added in. The flavor was very traditional to what I had back in Thailand in the early 2000s. It was easily one of the best Pad Thai plates I've ever had. My partner had cashew veggie stir fry with shrimp and rice. It was her second time at a Thai restaurant, and she loved it. Taste and heat were spot on.
This is also a gorgeous restaurant with beautiful appointment and decorations, making the complete dining experience a real pleasure. My only regret is that I don't live in the area to be able to dine here more often!

Delicious, spicy Chicken Pad Thai; nice lunch sized portion with soup and eggroll.

Love this place, The food is always so good. The servers are always amazing. We have been here several times and everytime we enjoy trying something different.

Sizzling Duck Panang Curry Staff is extremely polite but the food even outweighs that! Very clean tasting, vegetables still crunchy and very fresh! Lunch is very busy so we came for an early dinner and it was worth it 100 times over!

I went there tonight for the first time, and had the best curry I've ever eaten. The ingredients were fresh and delicious, the waitstaff couldn't have been nicer, the decor was beautiful, and it's in a great location (right next to the historic Tampa Theatre). I'll definitely be back every time I'm in the area! [Pictured is the Panang Curry with tofu--delicious!]

We found Si-am on via a "near me" search. The pictures of the restaurant, the menu, and the reviews were enough for us to give them a try. After dining there we can easily say "we will be back!. The ambiance was warm. The staff was very friendly and efficient. It wasn't too busy at the time. The food was excellent. My wife and son had the Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken. I had the beef curry dish (4 star hot). We were all very pleased. We followed or meal with Thai donuts and some delicious mango ice cream. All together a great experience!

Some excellent Thai food here. The pad thai is a classic and went down so well. Highly recommended.

The best Thai food I’ve ever had! My fiancé and I try Thai in every city we visit. So far this one is our winner! They need to hire more employees for better customer service and experience but the food makes up for it 😊. The pineapple fried rice is a 10 out of 10.
