I was craving the garlicky broth in Thai chicken rice soup w/o having to make myself. I went in at 5:30 and I was the only person in restaurant, the host seemed a little confused for some reason at first then had me choose my table. I ordered a hot jasmine tea and chicken noodle soup(rice noodles, slightly overcooked) which was served w/ a few spicy condiments. It was topped with/ bean sprouts, crushed peanuts and scallions. The broth was a pale color, lacking flavor though fresh lime throughout but I needed more garlic and cilantro as I’ve had in others. It was fine but don’t think I’d rush back for it. $14

But this just isn't it. The noodles are overcooked and mushy. It's very sour and tastes fishy.

Also all the garnish is gone. This used to come with carrots, green onion, etc. This had like 2 green onions in it. It's a bowl full of mushy overcooked noodles and eggs with excessive sour fish sauce. Very disappointed.

My review here is to counter Damen Chen’s comment with the pic of the thermostat. Seriously? That’s what all Floridians ought to have their setting on in the summer when it’s consistently 95 degrees out. I keep mine at 82. I saw my house get to 63 this winter using a 20 watt space heater. If thermoregulation is a problem for you, there are low cost devices that can cool your neck or plenty of cold states to move to. Leaky Freon generates more hurricanes.

I've gone to this restaurant with both owners, and I actually prefer the food with the new owner. I believe currently this is the best Thai restaurant in town. The food is flavorful, authentic, and portions are large.

Reviews are correct a lot less choices than previous owner and taste not as good. Limited condiments no more peanuts and scallions no sriracha. No chicken broth only the coconut soup. No dessert. Still ok though but only average.

I give the buffet food 4 stars but 1 star for nothing to eat if you arrive by
12:30 PM. They stop add more food for buffet, I feel like I eat only left over food. Not sure what the buffet mean for thai buffet unlike Chinese buffet. If you want thai buffet you should be there when they start open,
Otherwise you will eat whatever left over.

Received a critter in my red curry! Disgusting. We ate here so much when the original owners owned it. We Have given it 4 try’s with the new owners & it’s been terrible & last night was the last straw! Not sure exactly what the creature was but it definitely had legs! Never again will we eat her or recommend EVER again!!

"I wish there were more authentic, family owned, detail oriented restaraunts around with great food at a better value." This is one of those places. They have a lunch buffet, great stuff. They have lunch specials for takeout, great stuff. They have a full dinner menu prices below their competitors with portions greater than their competitors. Never had a bad meal here. Never been hungry after eating here. Never disappointed here.

Loved the chicken fried rice and pad Thai 😋

Pad thai chicken was meh-you can tell how good a restaurants' PT is if they included a lime or not and this one didn't come with one! Also, the chicken had a pork texture when chewing, thats not supposed to happen. Overall, the PT was not very tasty even using my own lime. I highly suggest Lemon Grass DTSP! Its literally the best PT cause I tried all of the restaurant around Pinellas in the last 11 years.

Recommend their lunch buffet for $13. Food was superior. Welcoming. Clean. Classy. Hope they never change

I went there for lunch at 11:30 and there was no food in the Buffett I waited for 20 minutes Everyone was waiting for food and when they brought the food over within seconds I was gone there was no plate and the staff was running around playing catch up I really feel bad for the stuff, I left still hungry I don't recommend the place is way overrated!

They just started advertising the buffet again. Went during posted buffet hours, but they weren't serving the buffet anymore. This place isn't what it used to be.

Because of the pandemic, the restaurant buffet closed down a couple years but now it opened again. It seems there are few more food choices and the food is fresh, but the Thai authentic taste has been compromised. Except for the potato curry chicken, the rest of food items tasted more like Chinese food. Although the food quality is all right, but we went to Yummy for Thai food, not other Asian flavors.

We ordered the appetizer sampler and a veggie tom yum soup. Very attentive server and the food was delicious. Atmosphere lost one star because bathroom smelled unpleasant even though we were the only people there and it hadn’t been used recently.

The owner was very friendly and checked on us frequently to make sure we were fine, the food was delicious and it was a good amount of food too, overall it was an awesome place to eat.

My boyfriend and I go here once a week minimum. The lady in charge is a beautiful human and cares about the food she serves.

I ordered Panang curry with chicken. It was so bland, no peanut flavor or unami from fish sauce or sweetness from brown sugar or even coconut milk. It tasted like only spicy curry. I asked for peanut sauce ( which is on menu) but was told they don't "have" it. I also ordered spring rolls and it was just fried wrappers no vegs inside. In addition , the owner's wife argued with me about it which was not necessary.
I do not recommend! BTW I cook Panang curry alot, I know what is in the recipe. I regret I didn't make my own and it would have been cheaper.

Ordered by phone and got there a little early, the service was phenomenal while we waited, which is an unexpected thing to say but true, the woman in charge was truly kind and generous, leaving with more than ordered…..upon arriving home the food was piping hot fresh still and truly delightful. We Will be back, quite often

Old reliable in this neighborhood. The owners really care about good food and good service. Their portions are very large for a great price. Every dish we have ordered has been delicious including their Red Curry, Pad Thai, and crab rangoons. Their Thai tea is also delish. Yummy Thai takes advance orders online or on the phone and the food is always hot and ready when promised. A real staple in our household!

The food was not only amazing, but the service was equally as great. It’s family owned and it was the only Thai restaurant open during the afternoon “slow” time. We’ll be back soon.

Place has wonky hours, poor prep time, unreliable phone/online orders. Needs an overhaul of the way they conduct business. Hire some new team members to serve the demand that already exists rather than increase prices on the dinner crowd regulars.

Food was okay. If you ask for mild or no spice on their curries they wont be able to since they mass cook their curries in one large pot. They will claim all thai food is like this, and if this is not your first thai place, you will know thats not the case. Super rude on the phone and hung up on me.

Go to ThaiWok on 4th instead. Better quality of food and honest customization of food that when you ask for no spicy or mild spice, that will be what you actually get. Also the staff are considerate. Only went here because i was already at publix. Will make the extra trip elsewhere next time.

Been coming here for years and the food has always been fantastic. The owners (folks working the counter and cooking) are lovely people. I know they've been struggling with all the hyper-inflation, as is any other service industry business... Wish they would raise their prices to keep up with it because we'd hate to see them have to shutter the shop. I know any SUPPORTIVE regular will support a price increase to ensure great, local restaurant stays in business. Come on, Starbucks just said they're raising their prices! Be forewarned: Their hot is HOT! ;-)

If you like and request super spicy, you’ll get it here. However flavor is just not all the way there for Pad Thai. Plus its a longer wait to order there and take out, so phone ahead if you’d like to try it. Cashier was very nice.

This place has seriously gone down hill. I’ve been going here for a year and a half and not only has the quality of food gone down but the customer service is dropped to almost 0%. The main girl who answers the phones and takes orders acts like she doesn’t want to be there, she’s so annoyed for your call. Then she tells you the food will be ready in “45 min” but then you get there after an hour, she doesn’t greet you, just tells you to sit down. BEFORE even telling us how much time is left on making the order. I waited an hour and a half for my food and then proceeded to pay $45 with no apology. Food tasted old. This is disappointing considering the number of Thai places in the area. Won’t be returning to Yummy Thai but that’s okay, hopefully less customers won’t stress them out so much.

Nice, quick and friendly service. Trying this place for the first time, as I typically drive over to Clearwater. Ordered green chicken curry. It was pretty good, and enough portion. There is a flavor added to it that I am not used to in green curry. Mostly good !

$38 for 2 entrees (a total of $48 with tax, fees and tip) that were super small, tasteless and dry. Pad See Ewe was tasteless and dry with Null Vegetables. There were about 4 really good italian fork twirls of noodles. I had to add soy sauce (that was not in the bag mind you) for taste and for moisture. The Curry had barely any peanut creaminess at all and was yellowish, not brownish and was missing peanuts!?! It was a water bomb with no taste, 5 pieces of chicken and maybe 5 slivers of zucchini and two stars of carrot. I am here without a car, from Cali on a budget, flown in to work in healthcare because FL is a hotspot for covid. All I wanted after 12 hours of traveling was some feel good food..NOT THIS PLACE. I was disgusted and went to bed hungry. Beware if You know how THAI is really supposed to be.

I am a happy single father of three (12, 9, and 6) who entered Yummy Thai on Saturday, June 13th, 2021 around 8:15 pm with my three kiddos. We were immediately greeted with genuine kindness by Becky. I have lived in several states, including New York, Maryland, North Carolina, and Tennessee while enjoying restaurants in each location, but none compare to our joyful experience(s) at Yummy Thai in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Although Yummy Thai was about to close for the night at 9:00pm, my children and I were positively welcomed by Becky to dine in. Our stay was positive, encouraging, renewing, and delightful. The food was superb (Pot Sticker appetizer, Curry Fried Chicken-Combination Chicken, Pork & Beef, Pad Thai Chicken, and Bangkok Chicken as well as Thai Tea, Thai Coffee, and Lemonade. The stay was consumed with positive experiences as a result of meaningful dialogue with Becky coupled with quality mouth watering meals.

My children also loved the food plus overall family oriented experience(s), particularly my 6 year old daughter who rarely eats anything and is quiet towards others. I look forward to visiting again when back in town, especially knowing I’ll have quality food, peaceful and encouraging social interactions, and affordable prices. Yummy Thai is more than worth the stay. My family and I thank Becky and everyone at Yummy Thai for these positive experiences.

I watched my boyfriend eat the hottest spiced curry that only four people have had before. The waitress warned him of the spice, but he tolerated it well and gulped a lot of water. He said it was YUMMY.
I had the Pad Thai non spiced and it was YUMMY. I want to come back and try more things soon!

After a long day of traveling, my son and I found "Yummy Thai" near the hotel where we were staying. What a find! The food was delicious and the staff very friendly!! We definitely recommend you stop by and give them a try. Thank you very much to the staff at Yummy Thai.

Hands down, the best Thai food in St. Petersburg! Just found this place in the past month after having tried every Thai restaurant in St. Pete, including the beaches, over the past ten years. Nowhere else can the food compare with Yummy Thai. Fresh ingredients, seasoned perfectly, prepared to perfection, and presented in an visually appealing manner. The sevrice is always top shelf as well. My now go to Thai place.

This is my favorite restaurant in St. Pete. I really love thai food and I've never had anything short of delicious here. When my family comes to visit, we always get it delivered. My favorite part about this place is the people who work there. We decided to dine in once pre COVID and had a great conversation with the owner who teased my husband about how he may not be able to handle laos hot, but he was up for the challenge. This place is small and the service is wonderful. I've frequently gotten some spring rolls in my deliveries that I haven't paid for. Thanks for that small bonus. We love you and will eat here as long as we remain in the city.

George and Becky, I love your restaurant so much...I want everyone to experience it too! Unfortunately, I always order the same thing for the past 10 to 14 years, Red Curry Shrimp!!! It is so delicious I cannot help but order it every time. My wife ordered the Thai Salad, as you can see, above, but I did not want to deviate. People, I drive from Tampa, to eat at Yummy Thai, it is my personal recommendation. Always consistent, always satisfying...try it!

Love the food but the spice level is not consistent. Some days it’s incredibly spicy but most of the time, it’s great!
