Thai dishes & sushi served in a basic cafe amid red seating, paper lanterns & Asian decor touches.

I visited this restaurant for the second time and ordered vegetarian sushi and Pad Thai. The food was delicious, especially the Pad Thai, which I enjoyed a lot. The service was excellent and very fast. Overall, I had a tremendous experience at this restaurant.

Nori Thai is a Thai restaurant that offers a wide variety of Thai and Asian foods, including an extensive sushi selection. The service is fast, and they have an excellent selection of vegetarian options. The portions are generous, and the fish dish is noteworthy for its size and taste. However, the vegetarian curry I ordered was a bit hard, and I would have preferred it to be more tender. The restaurant also provides cocktails and drinks. I recommend this restaurant for its delicious food.
The food was amazing! Only complaint is the restaurant smelled really strong like simple green cleaner. Service was good. A little pricey but worth the extra cost because everything tasted super fresh and yummy. Definitely try the spring rolls and steamed dumplings!
Great food, everything always fresh and delicious. Last time 3 of us had Fisherman's catch and 1 ordered Crispy duck in basil sauce - everyone was happy and finished their entries, which were a pretty good size.
Update: still one of our favorite restaurants in the area, the food is fresh and very tasty. We come here a couple of times when we stay for a week every year. Nina is the best, most attentive server you can wish for!
Thai food near the beach. Went here during happy hour which has $3.50 apps, 2 for 17 dollar sushi rolls and a couple alcohol deals. The crab Rangoon was good, nothing crazy but it's rare I find a bad crab Rangoon. Edamame was very fresh and was a great happy hour app. I enjoyed the Nori Thai fried rice which includes beer, chicken, pork and shrimp. Enough for two meals, I had to take some home. The food was so fresh and cooked to perfection. I would love to see outdoor seating at a Thai place near the beach but they have large windows to view out and the service was quick so I wasn't inside for too long. More expensive than quick Thai places but worth every bite.
The service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant and casual where we came in wearing our beach clothes. Unfortunately, the Thai food was really mediocre. I had the pad Thai lunch special. It was really sweet and overly saucy. Maybe the worst pad thai I’ve had to be honest. The spring roll was decent. My friend also thought their dish missed the mark.
The best authentic Thai food hands down!
Horrible customer service !
False advertisement!
Very Rude staff !
Go get a fish sandwich from McDonald's!
Better than eating at this pit !

For years I have mostly picked up takeout from here. It's always been good, but the last few times the food has really gone down hill.
Not sure if the chef changed. I get thai elsewhere now. Orange chicken was always my fav, but last 4 times really disappointing.
Great food, everything always fresh and delicious. Last time 3 of us had Fisherman's catch and 1 ordered Crispy duck in basil sauce - everyone was happy and finished their entries, which were a pretty good size.

New to Thai food she helped me understand it and select my dish, House Specialty traditional "Pad Thai" - of course!
Had take out. Was good food!
Very tasty Thai we loved our experience and will be back. We are super picky about Thai food and this was a winner!
True Thia food, great taste, and server was Awesome.
Always had good food and service here before but when I went to get takeout tonight they locked the door right as we were walking up to it. At 9:38 pm! They turned their backs on us and completely ignored us when we knocked on the door. Not cool.
I just went into this restaurant at 9:17pm requesting sushi the door says closes 10 pm and big sign that says NOW Open!! I was told they now close at 9:30 so sorry cannot serve you!!’ Wow!!!
side of rice was old and dry and stiff, Had the Red Curry and was not impressed it had barley any meat or vegetables mostly curry sauce. I would not order that again. I tried alaskan roll it was ok
all opinion
Very underwhelming. Customer service was good but the food did not meet my expectations. The pad ba mee tasted like ramen noodles from a packet and the pad Thai was way too sweet.
Horrible service. We drove there for 30min. Got there one hour before closing and we're told that they decided to have last call and hour before closing.
So my mom and I have a new weekly tradition. We are trying new places and experiencing new food, new atmosphere, because life is too short not to have the good food! If you love Japanese and Thai food this place is a MUST! The service was amazing, never let a drink go dry, constantly checked on us, food came out fast too. The atmosphere was very calming, clean, and you didn’t have to shout to hear the person in front of you. The food ….let me get into that! We had the chicken pad Thai! It was absolutely delicious & the portion size could have easily fed 3 people per plate. Fast service, friendly service, incredible food…. We will definitely be returning 👍🏽
My husband and his family have been coming here for years! Always have awesome service and even better food!
Yummy to the 10th power 😋!
Food was not what I expected. Had no flavor and was way over priced for simple noodles and chicken. I guess living in Thailand for so long got me spoiled to authentic Thai cuisine. This place was a severe let down.
Bland
June 2nd, 2024. I'm so dissapointed. Zero rating. Zero flavor. Chicken fried rice was basically sticky rice with a little color, no salt, no flavor. The chicken was literally white boiled chicken, nothing fried about any of it. The pepper steak lacked flavor, the steak was definitely not even stirred, it tasted boiled. Brought the food home to recook it as the outing cost me $78, plus tip. Not the server's fault. Horrible cooking. Not going back. The two appetizers were good but must have been from a restaurant supply place as there is no way the person that cooked the dinners would have prepared the appetizers.
The sushi is some of the best I've ever had in my life here but far and away the Thai cuisine. There is so good you have
to try this place
Cashew chicken had no flavor & was dry and had no scallions...all celery and onions. The Japanese rice was not stir fried and lacked eggs or the pork I requested. No fortune cookie or noodles.... everything was so bland AND it was $49!! I wish I could upload how tiny the portions were..such an expensive disappointment
Just the usual Thai food. Prices are on the high side for the quality, though good quantities. I asked if they could make a dish well done(meat and veggies) and the server said that’s not the way they make it. Honest but I wasn’t happy about that.
one of the best spots on St Pete Beach, Sushi Chef William is amazing!! Food is best of the best!! Will not disappoint.
Excellent food and service.
It was great. Great place for family and friends 🧡
Ordered panang chicken tonight using Doordarshan. Should call it panamg soup because the sauce was so thin it was almost water. No flavor, had some zucchini and maybe 3 small chunks of pepper. Chicken had even less flavor and was tough. We used to eat here last year but not sure what happened. Won't order again.

3 stars - Service was not thinking ahead.
3 stars - Atmosphere due to lysol fumes coming into the dinning area from mopping
Curry was very watery and didn't have a lot of flavor. Separated quickly. Pad Thai was OK, but not as good as other places we've gone.
Not what I was expecting and not up to standards.
This is arguably the BEST Thai food I've ever had. If you are ever in, or near, St Petersburg Florida, get in here. If you like your Thai food fresh, they do that. If you like your Thai food spicy, they do that. If you like your Thai food customized, they do that. You get the idea. Their hot & sour soup is just the best I have ever had anywhere. It is made fresh to order (I ordered my main dish w/o mushrooms and the server asked if I wanted my soup w/o mushrooms). What the place lacks in ambience, it more than makes up for in freshness, friendliness and flavorful food. Get here.
Nori Thai used to be one of my favorite thai places to go to. Their food is always good and fresh and hits the spot, however the prices have gotten so high I can't afford to eat there anymore. There are places inland that charge more than half of what Nori does. I wish I could eat here but they have priced me out of my budget.
The last few times we have ordered takeout the spring rolls were ready and we had to wait another 20 to 30 minutes for the rest of the food making the spring rolls cold and soggy. Spring rolls should be fried after the rest of the food is made not before! One of my favorite Thai restaurants. They also have sushi and a Japanese menu. They are really good with a friendly staff. The only drawback is that they are next door to a bar who plays their music so loud you can hear it through the walls.
Service and sushi was great!
Food pretty good. Service quick. No where on website does it state there is a bar. Nor is there an obvious bar at restaurant. Brought a bottle of wine. Only after opening did they state there is an uncorking fee. Left a bad taste. Atmosphere ok
Edited review: Prices here got too insane post-COVID, and the quality and portion size changed a bit. We miss Nori, but had to stop going for these reasons.
I think it only fair, though, to leave my prior impressions of Nori here, because we really did love the staff and the food. Note this is from a couple of years ago: My wife and I are regulars at Nori Thai. The staff is super friendly - they know me as soon as I walk in the door and are very helpful. Prices are good and the food quality is fantastic. We definitely recommend their fried spring rolls, Pad Thai, Lad Na, and fresh rolls.
They can make just about anything on the menu vegan. Food was excellent! Will be back!
As soon as as walked in we were greeted with kindness and they sat us. The wait staff was great, they were hustling on a busy night! Great cheerful staff, all of them. The food was good!
Some of the best spring rolls and Thai I've ever had!! Excellent quality, and huge portions!!
The best sushi in this town! Always delicious!!!
First of all, the green curry beef dish I had was just layered flavor upon layered flavor. Very impressed . Wait staff was attentive and happy to do their job, plates arrived timely and a very relaxed atmosphere with good music.
Not only that, but a big sell for me is that if you’re a carnivore but also banging one of those vegan/crunchy/ new age/wholistic/Wiccan/astrology “mercury is in retrograde” “coexist” type broads, it’s a great place to eat where there’s high quality reasonably priced options for all!
Delicious!!! Cute hole in the wall, nice staff, amazing food
Not to my liking. I got the teriyaki and it was so tough I couldn't even cut it. Two bites and the rest went into the trash. There were 3 other diners with me. Out of the 4 of us, 2 choices were really bad, the other 2 were "just OK". We won't return.
The waitress was nice.
Atmosphere quaint
Great portions, the curry is 3 meals for me
Delicious food. Serving are large, could easily be shared. Great appetizers. Attentive employees.
Delicious...one of our favorites
Tom Kai Kai soup was good and so was the sushi. I love Thai food, I got a Thai tea and it was amazing, they have over 5 pages for a menu to choose from.
Way too expensive!!!
The staff was so helpful and kind! I was an out of town visitor and had an issue with my card. They handled everything with such grace and understanding. I thank you all =) Food was delicious 😋
We got there pretty late but they attended us. The sushi was great. Their crab rangoon was amazing. I really recommend the food at this place.
What I ordered didn't taste the way I expected but my guests liked their food.
Nice and calm location to the normal hustle and bustle of a beach strip.
Everyone was very attentive and made me feel like we weren't another family burden and I appreciated that! Our ppetizers & food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious! (get the rainbow specialty roll).
If you're looking for a good sushi bite to eat look no further!
Great Thai food and wonderful atmosphere. Recommend the pad thai!
Not impressed with the quality of the Pad Thai. The taste wasn't all that great and it was greasy. The wait or cared more about getting me the check than he did about giving service. Very cold inside and it was like a cafeteria. A cluttered and noisy one.
Food was good but service was so so. Felt like server was on bad mood.
i ordered for pick up fried rice and it was the worst i have ever had. Zero flavor and just a lot of white rice (not even soy!!) with onions mixed in and a couple slices tomatos and cucumber. Period. It was $24 ! Don’t pick this item! Cost was too high for no flavor!!
The food was awesome as usual. The staff is super nice. The best Crab Rangoon in Florida!
Very good food but the price was RIDICULOUS! Will return when I hit the lotto. Maybe. Because service was pretty sub par too.
Our personal favorite for many years. Truly a Joyful experience. Been & wine.
We were a party of 7 , the waiter just stood at one end of the table to take everyone’s order rather than come around the table so we all had to shout up our order. Plates and cutlery (which did not include knives!) where then just stacked up at each end of the table for customers to help themselves. One persons meal was served then a gap before the next came out so people had to wait before we could start.
The large chunks of potato in the curry was almost raw and without a knife trying to break them up with the fork had pieces flying over the table.
Will not be back here again.
Nori Thai is the best! They donated two large trays of sushi to our school for Teacher Appreciation Week! The sushi was delicious and you have to love a place that supports the community!! :)
Great food, fast service. Many options that can be vegetarian/vegan, as they offer vegetable and tofu options. All the food we tried was fresh and delicious, and came out very quickly. Staff was friendly. Even though we came during what would be typical dinner rush, and the restaurant was almost full, there was not a noticeable wait for service. Also, the place stayed pretty quiet overall even though it was full, which is pretty impressive.
Great
A+, outstanding cuisine!!!!
SUSHI HEAVEN— Enormous rolls- the Nancy and the Gary are my favorites! My son loves the chicken satay!
My friend found bugs in their food half way after eating it. They got food poisoning from it. Gross
Excellent authentic Thai food. Very flavorful and large portions. Service was good.
Place has gone down hill. Way overpriced and everything taste watered down.
Food was good as always and everything was correct .
Prices are high.
The food was overcooked and bland.
Clean, fast, good food,
Absolutely rude waitress. Asked me where I wanted to sit… I said questioningly , the window? And she snidely said to me “that’s where large parties sit“ and I said… Well, I don’t know… It all looks like where large parties sit“… and she threw the menu on another table and walked away. I let the other person at the takeout desk know what happened and that I didn’t feel comfortable having her as a waitress. I stepped out of the establishment, feeling completely despondent, as this was the weekend of my father’s funeral. I came back in and heard the first waitress yell to the manager “I’m not going to give her respect!“ I told the other manager at the front desk that I just wanted to get some soup before I pack to go home. And she sat me next to the window and adjusted the tables accordingly, took my order for wonton soup, and let me sit quietly as requested.
The only reason why I came back is because I didn’t know anywhere else to get a simple soup of Asian soup quickly so I could pack. (this initial waitress was not going to cause me to be a victim because of her poor manners.)
Manager did not charge me for the soup, given the incident, but it did not seem that she was going to talk to the waitress about her poor manners, or her poor performance. When I left, I tipped the manager twice the amount of the soup for her kindness. However, I will never return to this establishment as long as that waitress works there. This young person is absolutely no idea what good service is, and is not willing to learn.
Walked in for takeout, $10.00 added to the bill for the right to be a customer. Didn't notice this was added until I got home. $70.00 for fried rice, crab Rangoon and a chicken rice vegetable meal, won't be going back!
Most disappointing! Ordered teriyaki chicken, by any measure a very common restaurant meal. The chicken was dry and tough, something quite impossible to achieve! The taste was bland and too sweet. As for service - the waiter didn't know to bring the meal to both of us at the same time, so while one has started, the other kept waiting. Before departure, the waiter brought summary check for the table, without asking first. As it was, we needed separate checks. The interior of the restaurant borderline acceptable, no table cloth, no napkins. This place lives off tourists and badly abuses its privilege.
Will try to avoid it.
Such great Thai! Too bad I have to travel across Pinellas to get such good food! Red curry and Pad Thai are the best.
Thai food near the beach. Went here during happy hour which has $3.50 apps, 2 for 17 dollar sushi rolls and a couple alcohol deals. Food was excellent! Typical tourist restaurant, you definitely pay for being close to the beach. But saying that the food was very good and I will continue coming back if I'm down that way!
I came to have dinner at 21:14 and was informed that the restaurant was closed by a woman that the restaurant was closed and employees needed to be out by 21:30. Wrong hours posted online and at the door of the business I guess. 😕
Wide variety
Excellent food!
AMAZING PAD THAI
Went here back in May with my then girlfriend. The sushi roll was excellent. Everything was made fresh. My girlfriend had the soft shell crab and the portion was enough for the two of us. Be prepared to eat because the portions are generous. I will definitely be going back.
Nori Thai is usually my go-to for fresh sushi. I’ve always been a huge tuna fan and they have lots of options on the menu that I love to mix and match. I’ve eaten some other things Thai related in the past but mostly just the sushi.
Staff is great and always recognizes me when I come in — I choose to sit at the sushi bar so I can watch and get to the know the chefs and appreciate their craft. On today’s visit they had some tuna belly from some very expensive blue tuna that I got to try — literally melted like butter.
Note: I will say that over the last 6 months or so, I’ve noticed two large price increases on the menu. I understand as a business owner myself that expenses have gone up so it’s to be expected. Unfortunately, it’s not the cheapest sushi spot in the area (and we have to limit how often we come now) but it’s consistently the freshest and most desirable in our book.
This place has been in business for years. I ordered the spicy basil with beef. It was good but it was in served in a sauce that flavored everything. A friend had sushi rose roll and loved it. They serve large bowls of white rice.
Atmosphere is typical and casual. Service was good.
It's a good place for Thai and sushi.
Good Sushi!
Chicken pad Thai tasted not like any pad Thai I’d had but it was decent. However, there was a lot of sauce which drowned out the other flavors.
The pad see ew was decent. It’s a large portion but It definitely needed more broccoli.
There should be less expensive options for smaller portions. Not everyone wants to go home with enough leftovers for another meal.
The spring rolls were delicious.
The cherry on top? The 90s bit band music playing over the speakers 😅
The food was excellent. I had the Pad Thai. It was a very good portion size as well. Will definitely be back.
Great taste, service, and atmosphere. Yummy.
Great food at a great price.
Massive portions.
Portions were massive, and did not need to be. Although some may like that.
Ordered Thai Basil and dish was swimming in the curry sauce. Too much. I ordered the stir fry, as I wanted a safe pic- I was starving. It was good. But will stick to thai food in a "Thai" restaurant. BTW no need to order an app, which we did. Once again serving Size was massive.
The green curry was very good. On the mark. Will order again.
We had to request the floor to be swept as there was rice all over the floor under our table. They TCOd.
Sever was good.
We will return to order Thai food and nothing else. Not the Chinese or the Japanese ___ just Thai.
Food is always great. No complaints there. But I placed a big order online on Christmas eve. After placing the order, I didn’t get any indication of how long it would take so I called up and was told they were busy and it would take an hour. No problem. I knew they would be busy. But we show up an hour later to be told it would take another hour. They said they were supposed to call me, but they didn’t. No sense in waiting so I drive home and then I’m called 20 minutes later saying it would be ready by the time I got there. So I got back in the car and it was indeed ready. Again, the food is excellent and I knew they would be busy, but better communication would have been better. I will definitely return, but probably avoid holidays.
Mixed up an order, but all the food we recieved was tasty.
Always great food here
Nori Thai were fast and friendly. The ambiance is colorful and cultural. The susho was delicious and the rolls were unoque to the area. I tried th St Petersburg Beach Roll, whoch had froed grouper. The soups were made to your level of spiciness. Everything was fresh and delectable, especially my Gorgeous Husband. 😍 Oops 😆 🤣
The best Thai on St. Pete Beach by a long shot! Always friendly and excellent service also :-)
Really terrific food! They had all sorts of options if you wanted to go vegetarian or if you wanted meat. Sushi as well. I liked how you could order Thai food, Japanese food... it was a huge menu with a lot of options.
Everything thing here is delicious!
Excellent meal and service, one of my wife's favorites
Pad Thai was horrible! It was orange & so dry. The Broccoli Lovers dish... what Broccoli, there was maybe 2 peices & all kinds of other vegetables. Appetizers were very salty, we ate 1 bite and ended up throwing it out. Never again!
It was good. We had the staples of green curry and pad Thai. Nothing amazing, but it checked the box for Thai food
Great Thai food on St. Pete Beach, friendly, attentive staff and reasonable prices. 09/11/22 update, back after a long absence, great Thai food, we had the basil rolls for an appetizer (cool and crispy as they should w/great peanut sauce), I had Thai Sweet and sour w/pork, she had chicken & broccoli; both were excellent. The staff was attentive, and for those of you that like sushi, there were a large number of diners enjoying sushi boats and platters. If you haven't been, try it... they're open.
Disappointing…. The Pad Thai did not taste great at all, both dishes were supposed to have chicken…if you find some chicken you lucky and if you do it is tasteless..
Wow, and that's a bad wow, Went in to get take out. Terrible from start to finish. Perfunctory service. But the main thing ---Bad, bad, bad food. spring rolls, basil rolls, whole fish(a tired fried fillet), salad, noodles with what tasted like spoiled chicken---nothing redeeming to say. And I am usually a benefit of the doubt reviewer. But this was one of the worst dining experiences ever. You will want your money back if you eat here. Do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere.
Excellent food every time.
It's always a great meal at nori Thai only one thing would make it awesome....
Very good , we came back 2 times in 3 days
Awesome food and excellent service. Lisa is the best :)
Former Tampa Floridians, back in town for vacation.
After a day on beach we were craving some sushi. Nori didn’t disappoint. Ordered online for takeout. Small place with a ton of locals dining and getting takeout. I can’t speak for the Thai but the sushi was on point. Super fresh and not drowning in sauces. Size of the rolls really surprised us (pic attached!) We ordered 3 rolls and seriously should have just ordered 2.
Staff was busy AF but super friendly.
Wish we had a place like this back in our town!
orderd a take out order, when I got home the soup was extraordinarily hot when I ask for just medium. When I called them up to ask if they could deliver me a new one. Their answer was no and very rude. The girl that placed my order said she’ll give me a new one or she would give me a credit But she wouldn’t do both and I would have to come pick it up again. I’m sure that’s policy for some restaurants. But the tone in her voice and the way that she handled the situation rude and extremely unprofessional. My recommendation is to never eat at this restaurant I know I will not.
We ordered online and ordered 2 mild WonTon soups with some other items! I went over the order very carefully when I picked it up, and when I got home one of our soups was extremely hot and spicy! When we called them to ask about the wrong order they were very rude and abrupt with us!! We will never eat there again!
Excellent sushi and wonton soup. The fried rice house special was very bland and had very little texture, it did not appear to be fried. They definitely did not add much seasoning to the dish as the mushrooms in it still had the earthy taste of a mushroom. The Basil fried rice was much better because it had a sauce to add flavor. All the ingredients were very fresh.
Very good food and friendly people
Great sushi. Staff is always very friendly.
Delicious! Would recommend! The Thai spicy level is actually spicy ! Keep up the good work ! Also thanks for not charging tourists prices!
Fast
Fresh
And Delicious.
The pepper steak was bland sushi rolls overpriced....friendly staff
Edited June 13, 2022:
Had dinner last night and was very disappointed. The Tom Gha Kai and Tom Kha Kung soups were good but the entrees were awful. Wife had Pad Thai and it was messy, bland, and unappetizing. My Bangkok Connection (a rec from the waitress) was bland, mushy, and one note. There was no balance of sweet, sour, salt and heat. Seemed more like a dish best described as Thai for white people. We won't be back.
Original review:
Great meal in a nice little restaurant. Service was excellent. The portions are generous. We started with chicken satay which was 4 1/2 chicken breasts lightly browned. The main course was crispy chicken which is a huge meal for 1 person and Jungle Curry which was delicious. This is now my second favorite Thai place (Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas is my favorite.)
Unique restaurant offering full menu for Thai AND Japanese food. We were craving Thai food and the kids had their udon and sushi rolls. They are pretty packed on a Saturday and table setting was a little tight, but they have no problem to accommodate small or large parties. Thai food had the right amount of spiciness, and sushi was fresh. Parking was limited and tight so come early to beat the crowd.
My favorite Thai and Sushi place. I have been going here for over 15 years now. I live around the block from the restaurant. The Panang Curry is amazing and so is the St. Pete Beach roll. Lisa and Maddy are amazing and all of the staff is super kind and helpful. Thank you for taking care of your regular customers!
Awesome take out- used Uber Eats- food was perfect. Will order again!
Tasty food, super fast service
Waited 15 mins for an order that was supposed to be ready by the time I got there but they gave me a bad review so am I. 👍
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Love the food and the service. Highly recommend!
Great food, great service quaint dining room.
I love Nori Thai!!
I've been coming here twenty years
Nina Lisa and Andrew are the best!!
The only place I go on st.pete beach!!
Lisa was amazing! All the food was great! Ate vegan and the food was so delicious. Service was impeccable:) highly recommended!
