We decided to forego our usual quick bite from a food truck and instead treat ourselves to a Thai restaurant we had visited before. Little did we know this would turn into an unforgettable evening filled with incredible flavors, warm service, and delightful company.

Our group of six—a mix of fascinating professionals—gathered at this gem of a restaurant. Noah, a car detailer and landowner near Ocala, was joined by his girlfriend, a mind-body specialist and published author. Zen, an internationally renowned artist and writer based in South America, brought her unique energy, as did Christine Weiss, a certified family court mediator with two master’s degrees and a background in business ownership. Lynn Dugan, an art teacher who had recently sold several pieces at a Salvation Hotel show, and I, Kent Norton, a certified court mediator and former gifted teacher and consultant, rounded out the group.

The atmosphere was enchanting from the moment we stepped inside. The decor struck the perfect balance between modern and traditional, with a single television screen showing tantalizing food images. It felt as though we had been transported to Thailand—though none of us had been there, the authenticity of the ambiance made it easy to imagine.

I took a chance and ordered the grouper instead of my usual red or green curry with mussels. The wait—around 15 minutes—was a reassuring sign that each dish was freshly prepared, not scooped from a steam cabinet. My grouper was cooked to perfection, paired with delectable vegetables and brown rice that were beautifully tender yet crisp. The flavors transported me, reminding me of meals I’ve enjoyed overseas, though not in Thailand.

One of my companions ordered the Tom Yum soup, opting for a large bowl. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t finish it and took the rest home—a testament to the generous portions. We noticed the same with all our dishes; the portions were so plentiful we shared freely and still had leftovers.

The service was impeccable. The waitstaff were attentive and personable, engaging us with humor and genuine warmth. They looked us in the eye, anticipated our needs, and even rearranged tables to accommodate our group comfortably. Their kindness and professionalism elevated the entire experience.

The food itself was nothing short of extraordinary. Every bite tasted as though it had been prepared with care and intention. The vegetables were vibrant and bursting with flavor, the proteins perfectly seasoned and cooked to order. It wasn’t like a comforting home-cooked meal; it felt like dining at a five-star restaurant—on par with the Four Seasons in Miami Beach but at a fraction of the cost.

As we lingered over our meal, savoring every bite, it was clear we were having a magical evening. We closed the place down, and even after leaving, we found ourselves meeting kind strangers outside, extending the sense of community and joy.

This was more than a meal—it was a memory we’ll all cherish. The restaurant provided not just food but an experience of warmth, connection, and culinary excellence that left us feeling nourished in every sense of the word.

Was specifically looking for a tampa roll, someone who knows how to make it correctly with onions, not cucumber, and I found it and more!! It was so delicious. I took takeout and ended up getting three rolls, all were superb. Spicy tuna crunch and dragon roll were my other rolls. Excellent presentation. Will absolutely be back to dine in.

Awesome food, atmosphere and service .
Had the Drunken noodle special and the Ginger Grouper. The Curry Puffs ( curry empanadas) were the best we ever had. Apparently everything is home made by the mom and daughter and crew. Fantastic family and noting but great things to say about this place.

My family and I had an exceptional dining experience at Thai Spice and Sushi! The restaurant is incredibly kid-friendly, with an extensive menu offering countless options. Nudee, our server, was outstanding—truly a super host who made our visit special. The variety on the Thai and sushi menus, including the daily specials, was impressive. Every dish we tried was a hit, but the clay pot tiger shrimp, drunken noodles with perfectly crispy duck, lobster tail, and fresh sushi rolls were standout favorites. Everything was delicious! We’ll definitely be back for more.

Staying at a nearby hotel we decided on this place rather than going to one of the crowded UTC restaurants. Food came out fast and was delicious. Two wonderful ladies taking care of the entire floor and checked on us frequently. Prices were very good compared to other Thai restaurants I dined at. Nestled in a small shopping/eating center. Drive on the other side of I75 5 minutes away, it’s well worth it!

This was our first time here and this place was amazing! We ordered the Yummy Maki, Sarasota Fireman, and Tuna Killer rolls. The fish and ingredients were so fresh and service from Nudee was awesome! We will definitely be returning and recommending to others in the area. 😊

Thai Spice is our favorite restaurant!!! The food is just like being in Thailand. Some of our favorites are pad see ew and the sexy woman roll. Both are pure perfection. The atmosphere is so cozy too. We feel hidden away from the hustle and bustle when we are here. Highly recommend! And I cannot end this review without talking about the amazing staff. Nudee is our favorite person, has an incredible memory and patience and always makes us feel special! ✨

This is one of our favorite spots to eat, and definitely our go-to Thai restaurant! The food is phenomenal! And the service and environment is warm and comfortable!

We used to love there food. Always little on the pricey side but that's LWR for you. Since they last raised the prices again it seems like quality & service went down the other way.

The signs are small at businesses in San Marco Pllaza. Don’t give up! It’s worth it. Our server was so lovely—modulated voice and graceful handling of food. Tom Ka had more onion than is typical plus carrots and no eggplant. Delicious. The green curry had green beans and I highly recommend it. A close second was the Panang curry. We will be back here soon!

I’m being generous as the food maybe great but they said they were open now on Sundays and said so online according to google maps and we went with my father who has a cane and turns out they are CLOSED. Please be aware and update your website correctly )

We were in for lunch on Thursday. My husband had the Masaman Curry and I had the Pad Thai. They both were delicious that my 2 picky toddlers couldn’t get enough!

Came to eat here as it was highly recommended online. When we arrived I soon realized that it was probably going to be worth the hype as there were people crowding the entrance for take-out orders. Unfortunately our server Nudee was swamped working the place all by herself, but she handled it like a professional and she has a great sense of humor to put up with a group of pilots. The egg rolls came out hot and delicious. My chicken drunken noodles were very flavorful. Will definitely come back next time we are in the Sarasota area.

been going here a couple years now, less affordable then it was a couple years ago but isn’t that the case with everything?

I ordered online. I guess it was through a 3rd party site as I paid more than expected but oh well. My usual Thai place was closed for the holiday so I drove 20 min each way to try Thai Spice and Sushi in Lakewood Ranch. I ordered egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken. The egg rolls were delicious and a good size portion. The sweet and sour chicken, not so much. The vegetables were mushy and the chicken dry and the sauce had zero flavor. I was not impressed. Another thing was when I entered the restaurant to pick up my order they were not busy and there were empty tables, which a worker was wiping down a few feet away from me. He did not say hello or acknowledge me for at least a few minutes. I just stood there while he never looked up at me or said anything. I have higher expectations when giving a restaurant my money, at least say hello I’ll be right with you. If you want good food, reasonable prices and friendly service this is not the place.

Best kept secret for sushi in the area. Friendly staff. 10 out of 10.

The coconut soup was amazing but the Pad Thai was disappointing. While it was flavorful it was essentially just a plate of noodles. Authentic Pad Thai has a lot of other components including lots of toppings like peanuts and beans. The service was good, friendly and attentive but slow due to it being a busy time for only two servers.

Don't eat anywhere else! It's that good and service is really 10 stars. I was a solo diner and felt very taken care of. I noticed another solo diner and I wish there was a sushi bar or something instead of sitting at a four top but I would still come back! I ate a app and a stir fry plus sake. Not too full, portions aren't huge so over order because it's not expensive either.

Came in for the Sushi and was not dissappointed. Ordered rolls from Specials, Specialty, and Regular such roll sections of the menu, and all were fantastic and quite large. Me and my Wofe’s favorite was the Royal Deluxe roll. Will be back and will recommend.
