This is a very nice sushi restaurant with excellent customer service. We were greeted warmly and given a bowl of soup. We were even given a complimentary appetizer. I ordered the sashimi deluxe, and my wife ordered the sushi regular. The pieces were fresh and a nice size. Our waiter was excellent and added to the experience.

The food was excellent. I had a very simple tappanyaki, and the portions were very generous. I also enjoyed the fact that they included soup and an appetizer that was amazingly delicious and just the right portion. You could eat here alone or bring a date or partner and be very pleased with everything. The service was very prompt and attentive and the food was served timely and hit. It's a strip mall type of place so the atmosphere is what you would expect. I have never been a fan of having television playing news during dinner but that is just my personal thing. They had nice instrumental music playing which was not overbearing.

The food is really good but I did not like that the server had a hard time taking our order because language barrier so communication was difficult. Person
could speak barely any english. Then she just watched Me eat the whole time . Like just staring at me. My family was the only one in place at time but doesn't mean stand in front of our table and watch our every move. Very rude to me. Almost walked out. Set my whole night off feels very violating and I could not enjoy myself there. I loved going but may not unless face the window for now on. My other 2 experiences there have been great otherwise. I would like what happened to never happen again if I go back.

First visit (and last) to Fancy Q because our usual sushi choice was closed on New Year’s Eve. I should have taken pictures of the sushi rolls… seafood may have been 10% of the roll, if that! That equates to $12-$15 for mostly rice or cucumber per roll!!. Rolls were cut so large that there was NO WAY to eat them without a fork. Sushi rolls definitely didn’t look like any of the 5 star pictures in other reviews. Seriously disappointed!!!

I went there for my birthday abt a month ago

My wife and I went there for lunch this past Saturday. I got a small Bento Box and my wife had chicken Pad Thai. I have eaten plenty of sushi and sashimi etc over the years. The rolls were not full rolls and their diameter was very small. The spicy tuna roll was not tuna as expected but was "mashed up or minced up" and didn't taste good. I was sick in the bathroom within an hour or so if coming home. I will not be returning

It's one of my most favorite places to eat. My family and I eat here almost every week. Everything is delicious and fresh. We feel like a part of the family when we are here. Sushi is amazing, and all the hot plates are prepared nearly perfectly every time I have eaten here.

We came in this establishment for the first time today! Always wanted to! As soon as we entered, we were greeted and seated promptly. We were given menus and appetizers on the house!! They were so tasty!! We ordered our food and it came out promptly as well!! Every step of the way the staff was polite, prompt and efficient. I recommend this place if sushi and Thai food is your thing. Even more so, if you like to be treated like royalty!

Online ordering is so time efficient and the sushi is great.
The best rolls I tried are Phoenix roll, Sweetheart roll. Each roll is about 15-16$ each.

I had a Great visit, 1st time, and the Service Staff was very polite and professional!

My friend and I walked in for lunch and were immediately met with a cold look from a young lady with glasses on. No smile. No greeting. We were sat immediately and she gave us something we hadn’t even ordered. She told us it was “on the house.” After our orders were taken she would stand in the back OR the host area and just watch us eat and talk. A family of six came in and she was very nice with them! We still tipped and enjoy our time together despite the weird ogling. If you’re anything darker than the color white don’t come here lol

We have been ordering from and dining in this restaurant since they opened. The service is great, as is the food. We always get the crab Rangoon, spring rolls and most times a variety of rolls. My favorite is the yellow curry with vegetables and shrimp. You get lots of veggies in a delicious full fat coconut milk base with just a touch of heat with shrimp cooked perfect every time. My favorite comfort food. It’s enough for 2 or 3 meals. Will keep ordering and dining in here!!

My husband and I live in a small town with one sushi place. We were in Lakeland for the day and wanted some good sushi. We went with Fancy Q as it had the highest ratings and for good reason. The sushi and pad Thai were exceptional and the staff were kind and attentive. I highly recommend. We will definitely pay another visit when in Lakeland again.

I'd recommend not dining in the restaurant during rush hour. The amount of people that were going in and out was staggering and it took a while just to get a seat because the service was swamped with customers and orders.

This is my all-time favorite restaurant. Their crab rangoons and spring rolls are amazing. The staff is incredibly sweet and friendly. They prepare the food quickly, but it’s always so good! The inside is very cozy and cool. Highly recommend the sushi, as I’ve never had a bad roll from here. When you order through GrubHub with an order over $30, they give you a free “Eddie Roll”, which is krab tempura with eel sauce and yum yum sauce. It is to die for!! Love this place and honestly, I could eat it every day!!

I've been here a handful of times and I've always enjoyed their sushi. The only thing that bothers me is the customer service. Every time I have been in, they've treated me and my guests with a stoic urgency. Which, I guess is fine if you just want to be efficient and I usually let it slide as long as the food is good. I understand different cultures deal with things differently. But the lack of the courtesy and openness that you get from other restaurants just makes me feel like a bother every time. And this time was particularly bad.

Although we were seated immediately, the server dropped the menus on our table. No smile, no how are you or anything. We kind of laugh it off. When it comes time to order he seems a bit confused (and this has happened twice now when I've ordered. Is it a language barrier? I try to be as clear and simple as possible) but once again my order was wrong. But I say nothing. My mother in law however got something she didn't expect, but due to her own misunderstanding of the menu. When she brought it up to the server, he immediately got defensive and freaked out a little and blamed her fully. He looked like he was going to have a break down. He was acting very stressed and high strung the whole time and it made us extremely uncomfortable to ask for anything or say anything at that point.

He spoke very quickly and unclearly as well which also confused us and just made things more uncomfortable. I don't know what he was going through but you can't treat your customers that way. Im wary of every wanting to sit in again. :(

Edit: I don't know the name of the server. They never introduce themselves or have name tags that I notice.

At soon as you walk in, they accommodate you then bring soup and some fried stuff kind of sushi (sorry for my lack of knowledge) it was delicious.
Then asked you for what you want to drink and you can select from the menu.

It was so hard to decide because they have so many things.
We choose the dinner sushi box and a combination of noodles with beef and shrimp and the other chicken and shrimp, for the kid rice and chicken (she wasn't hungry cause didn't ate much).

Everything so delicious and fresh.

I can't wait to go back.

Way better prices than big chains + they give you free little appetizers which was a pleasant surprise. Look forward to coming back soon!

Not only was the service fast and courteous and the food delicious, but a beautiful, kind gentleman sitting next to us paid for our entire family’s meal! He told the manager to wait until he was gone to tell us. What a blessing! Hibachi and Thai curry was delicious and high quality. Pad Thai has a bit of a sweet tangy bbq peanut sauce, but would have preferred more true satay-style peanut sauce. Sushi was average. We’ll be back! #payitforward

I recently dined at a Fancy Q Japanese restaurant and had a fantastic experience. The clear soup was particularly noteworthy - it had a clean, delicate flavor that was the perfect way to start off the meal. For my entree, I ordered one of the hibachi combinations (Chicken and Shrimp) and was not disappointed. The portions were generous and the food was cooked to perfection. I was also impressed by the restaurant's decoration - it was beautifully designed and had a very nice ambiance. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a group of four or more as it was perfect for a nice dinner out with friends. Overall, a great dining experience!

Great service, nice presentation, it’s really an example of how you eat with your eyes as well. We ate the fried gyoza and the Krab Rangoon, it was plentiful and we felt like we had a full meal. They serve you with the clear soup and the additional Eddie special, which was delicious.

The most unflavorful Thai/Japanese food I’ve ever had. I’m extremely disappointed that this place has such high ratings. If you think this is good Thai, you need to get out if Lakeland and try some much better restaurants people! Thai food is sooooo much better than this!

They gave clear soup and some sushi when we sat down. Neither looked good to me. The clear soup was like water and something weird…

The miso soup was gross, no seaweed, just green onions. How do you mess up miso soup???

The salad was missing the ginger flavor in the dressing. Who goes to a sushi restaurant for iceberg lettuce with bland French dressing? Whhhyyy????????

The sushi roll was PINK 🤦🏽‍♀️ Not seaweed paper, but soy paper. Maybe I missed that in the menu? I’ve never seen that before…. And i’m not new to eating sushi.

We had three different kinds of Pad Thai. Another mistake. The Pad Thai was also desperately missing flavor, the peanuts they gave were shoved in the corner of the plate and was literally a pinch…of the crumbs…at the bottom of the peanut jar after you eat all of the peanuts. I’m not sure that they used peanut oil either. The noodles were also not the typical noodles you would be served with Pad Thai.
When the server gave me the plate the smell was bad. I’m not sure what it was, but I didn’t like it. Someone in my party said that the sauce is made of ketchup, that’s the odd taste/color. I’m not sure what it is, but this meal was disrespectful.

Almost $70 worth of food? We still left a good tip because the server shouldn’t be punished, but that was very wrong for this place to even serve this food.

We are new winter residents to the Lakeland area. We can be a challenge to serve as I have Celiac and my wife has trouble with flashing lights. The staff tried their best to locate the switch for the lights and moved us immediately to another table when they couldn't locate it. The service was prompt and friendly and the server was knowledgeable about gluten free options. The food came quickly and the quality was excellent. It was a great dining experience and we both highly recommend. We will definitely be back many times this winter :)

I did a take out, the lunch bento box, it was Amazing. Definitely going back to sit and eat inside, because the place was absolutely lovely inside.

The food was really good. I wouldn't say the Thai options qualify it as a Thai restaurant, definitely more sushi and Japanese food offered. The hibachi was excellent, love that it was offered as a lunch option too. I will be a regular at this one!

This place is amazing.

This is one of me and my husband's favorite places to go. The food is realy good every time, servers are nice, plus they have all kind of delicious freebies they serve with their food like clear soup, eddie's special or the ginger dressing green salad that comes with the hibachi. Most of their rolls are really good, the hibachi is one of the best I ever had (we usually order chicken or chicken and filet) and the water they serve at the table is just great, icy cold, no funky flavors, smooth. Prices are very reasonable too, especially for the quality. Definitely recommend!!!

Until my recent experience I was really enjoying this place. On my most recent visit I found a large piece of plastic in my food. I don't like to make a thing about it, but considering it made me throw up my food I thought I should tell the restaurant.

When they picked up they seemed to be aware of this issue. They said they make so many apps. that plastic ends up in it and it is a common problem. They did not apologize or offer me a refund. They just said it was a problem they were aware of. An older person or a child might have choked on something like this.

Their response and the way they handled it was very disappointing. Sadly I won't visit there again.
