I could’ve taken it a little hotter, but I wasn’t about to do Thai hot… Good portion of chicken and it was plenty saucy and not as greasy as some of the other places in town… based on the Pad Thai, I will be back to try a lot more even though it’s a little out-of-the-way for me.. solid recommend!

We have been coming to this restaurant for the last 3 winters and always leave very pleased. We’ve tried several of the curry dishes and the Pad Thai and Pad See Wee. They are all great. Their lunch special is exceptional as it comes with a delicious egg roll and small bowl of soup. Their service is always very good to excellent. We often come with a group of friends and it is easy to visit as it is not a noisy restaurant as so many are. We love this little gem.

Walked by this Thai cafe several times and seen the beautiful dishes and had to try it. It did not disappoint. The hostess pleasantly greeted us and had us seated right away. They have indoor/outdoor seating. The waiter was super friendly and funny! He was a delight and made our day! He showed us their great lunch specials and gave us perfect suggestions for our three different likes. The plating was beautiful. I ordered the eggplant dish with chicken served with a spring roll and thai chicken soup. My friends ordered the vegetable mix in garlic sauce with chicken, and the steamed vegetables with steamed tofu. All were delicious! This will be a new Thai place to visit often. Service and food were all excellent! Thank you for the great experience!

The pad Thai was amazing. I added shrimp and they were huge. Many places use tiny shrimp and this place had large shrimp. The dish could easily be split between two people. Large serving!

I also had the Thai iced tea and it was good! Very sweet.

The reason for 4 stars is due to the $11 I paid for calamari. I received an extremely small portion and they didn’t taste right.

I will definitely be back for the pad thai!

FYI: I ordered food online and picked it up. The parking situation is terrible (not their fault). It is a very busy area. If you are ordering from grubhub, I imagine your food is coming to you cold because it takes forever to find a parking spot and then you walk into the shopping area to get to the cafe.

Preamble - We eat at several Thai restaurants in the area and we know Thai food and often buy our favorite dishes.

I certainly cannot give this restaurant a good recommendation for their food and the service and atmosphere here were basically "meh". The only reason I am giving a two star rating is because the appetizer and one(1) main course was good. Otherwise the rating would be lower.

We came in for dinner after an FGCU game at Hertz. We had the spring rolls as an appetizer and those were good. We ordered the garlic chicken, massaman curry chicken and phad thai.

The garlic chicken had no flavor and was like eating just plain chicken with vegetables; no garlic at all. We will probably eat those leftovers but first add the missing garlic. A boring meal for the taste buds.

The massaman curry chicken also did not have any flavor. Where was the curry? There was no flavor whatsoever. The potatoes and carrots were close to al dente and the food was not hot nor did it feel like it was cooked long enough. Another boring meal for the taste buds.

The only saving grace of this dinner was the phad thai as that was a decent main course. The other two main courses were terrible; no taste and boring. We visit other Thai restaurants in the area and the food is much, much, much better. The total, with tip, was one hundred dollars ($100 dollars). I'm sorry. The food is not worth that kind of money. Look someplace else for Thai food. Two thumbs down on this restaurant. 👎🏻👎🏻

Authentic, fresh and appealing. Never had a bad meal ever. I go twice a week and bring my out of town friends here. A smile goes a long way.

Thai Udon is the best! I love the Massaman Chicken Curry, light curry flavor with big cashews, sweet potatoes and avocado. I rarely order anything else! My husband enjoys the Pad Thai and their potstickers are perfectly cooked too! The wait staff is very attentive and kind!

AMAZING food! I had the massaman curry and it’s one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! Our server was very sweet. It was a bit busy when we came, so it took a while to get our drinks and order our food, but so worth it!

The best Tom Kha soup in all of south Florida is right here in Estero at Thai Udon Cafe. I've order Tom Kha at many other restaurants throughout south Florida and all others have disappointed until trying here. Service staff are amazing! Chefs are amazing! Every dish ever ordered here by myself and my family has been amazing! We have eaten in and ordered carry out and food has been consistently amazing!! I honestly do not have a single "con" to note about this humble gem of a cafe.

From the moment we walked in, to the delicious menu, our entrees, Thai iced tea, and especially the service… incredible!! Will be back soon!

I’ve eaten here with my wife for both dine in and take out over a dozen times by now so it feels justified for me to write a fair review.

The food has been spot on every time. Subtleties of flavor in a simple “chicken and rice” soup which has little to none of both but it doesn’t matter - it’s perfect. Balance and harmony among ingredients in a dish every time. A true red curry with immediate flavor and complexity. Other dishes we’ve tried are just as good, but I’ll save you the long read.

I cook for a living and we have a tough time going out and finding something that’s better than what I can make at home and they never let me down. I hope they stay in business forever.

My only suggestion would be to have an alternative choice to the fried appetizer that comes with meals like the spring roll subbed out for a steamed dumpling.

We ordered crispy duck, noodle soup, and pan-see-yew, everything was delicious. Moreover, the tempura cheesecake and ice cream is now our new favorite dessert. The service was excellent as well. Will come again if we visit the area.

ordered take out. Ramen noodles and pad Thai. The ramen was good, not great, could have used more flavor, but it was definitely good.
Pad Thai with tofu was flavorful yet lacked the bamboo shoots and chives that have accompanied it at other restaurants.
I may try to eat in next time and see if that makes a difference.

Food is always good, staff very friendly. Went to pick up lunch for two of us. Both had vegetable mango curry, one with chicken one with just vegetables. I had one piece of mango in my lunch and my husband had three. That was it for $40 to go. A bit disappointed, delicious but it's someone got lazy I think. 🤔🤷‍♀️

The food is great. I recommend ordering takeout. Inside service is pretty awful. The moment we sat down we were asked to order our food. Straws were thrown on the table with frustration after establishing we needed a minute to look at the menu. It was unpleasant service. Best Thai food I've ever had in my life

I’ve been eating Thai food for 3 decades and have been in search of very good Thai food in SWFL for almost 5 years. This place is by far hands down the best Thai food I have had in this area.
The lunch special started with a delicious small bowl of chicken broth soup along with a very tasty spring roll. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai that was one of the best I have had in long time. The healthy portion of food served will surely satisfy any Thai food connoisseurs pallet. The service was fast and efficient. So, if you’re craving Thai cuisine this is a sure thing!

This was a delivery from Grubhub. The food was undercooked and the chicken from the ramen noodles tasted raw. The Ramen noodles were soggy. The food was cold and tasted a little stale. Afraid of getting food poisoning if I eat that.

Great mango curry lunch!

We eat here almost every week and this place never disappoints. The red curry is one of the best I’ve ever had and the egg rolls are impossible to resist. The staff are super nice and always instantly address any issues. Only thing to note is that the spice levels can change from day to day and a medium spice level is really from mild to hot.

For being a Thai restaurant their flavors were absent. We got nam tok, papaya, and Tom yom soup. Everything was missing seasoning and was barely salty. Portion was very small- snack size?? Would not recommend if you’re looking for authentic Thai food. Service was great though.

Delicious and fresh food! The Tom Kha Kai is creamy and sour and well made. The curry dishes have beautiful depth of flavor and the rice is always perfect. The ramen dishes are so flavorful and hearty. The Thai tea/coffees are also tasty and always prepared well. You really can't go wrong!

Very good Thai food. I am usually skeptical about going to an Asian restaurant that serves multiple cultures, but the food was delicious.

Never made it. We called at 9pm asking if we could order food if we made it there in 5 minutes, and the lady very rudely said that it was too late but to hurry up. Given that they closed at 10pm I assumed the kitchen would close at 930... Well, anyway, not really feeling like going to place (to eat) where I was just mistreated over the phone and clearly not welcome.

edited to add: The next day I was contacted by the manager who mentioned that one of her employees in her absence must have interacted with me, but that is not the spirit or policy of the restaurant. She apologized and offered to make amends and asked how she could make it right. I really appreciate her calling, and while i understand that sometimes individual employees may not reflect the restautant overall, it certainly affected our experience.

This place has the best duck I have ever it it was equally juicy and crispy with an amazing sweet and sour sauce the veggies were fresh and crispy and the duck was perfect with rice with a nice rich flavor well the chi tea was sweet it wasn’t bad honestly some of the best Asian food I have had had down in this area of Florida and it’s convenient location will make it a staple restaurant in my family.

I’ve been to University Village for other restaurants there and Thai Udon Cafe always caught my eye, so now that I have finally tried them I can say that I am so happy we decided to go here for dinner! I ordered a bowl of the Japanese Ramen Noodles and being a ramen lover and having made the dish myself a few times, I was so happy with how this came out! It wasn’t too salty and it had just the right amount of flavor. There were so many vegetables which I loved about the dish even more. The shrimp was a perfect amount and it was served nearly boiling hot which is perfect for ramen from a personal standpoint. The atmosphere was very welcoming and clean. Our waiter “T” was so lovely and lively and made our dine in experience even better. I’m so happy I tried this restaurant and I will definitely be back in the future! (:
