We was not impressed by sushi unfortunately.
It was expensive and smaller rolls. One roll tasted okay, the other roll I didn't like (but we all have a different taste, you know) . On the positive side the raw fish on the top of the roll was good and fresh.
I think sushi is not the reason why people are coming here. We were the only ones eating sushi 🙈🙊🤣
Other food looked amazing. I saw some teriyaki plates and pad Thai. It is a bit more expensive but the servings looked huge.
We will be back to try the signature dishes. After that I'll update my review.
I’ve been here so many times over the years with my family and we absolutely love this place. We seem to get Margie as our server a lot and she is awesome as well. She’s so sweet and attentive, and always has a good attitude! The food and service here is a 10/10. We love the Incredible Hulk roll and the General TSO chicken!

Our evening dinner started off with superb authentic green tea in a cast iron tea pot, next was appetizer; the Crispy Calamari which does have a heat factor in the fried sweet potato bedding consisting of fried Thai chili slices and scallion slices. The sweet and spicy dipping sauce was the wow factor. It tasted like a sweet cocktail sauce with heat yet wasn’t a cocktail sauce. Our menu continues into General Tso chicken, it does have a heat factor but not overly powerful if you’re mindful of not eating the cooked chilis in the dish. The General Tso’s chicken was tender, juicy and plentiful on the plate with a cup of white rice and small ‘salad’ for palate cleansing. We added the large chicken fried rice and it was amazing. Flavorful with diced onion, red bell pepper, green onion plus the egg. The chicken fried rice needed no sauce of any kind. Lastly we had the Yaka Soba noodles with chicken. Yaka Soba is one of my favourite noodles next to Udon and I have to say out of all the places I’ve eaten away from Okinawa or Japan. Akina has got the noodles down like they’re from Japan. I was full after a few bites and leftovers never looked so good. The staff, was personable and Skylar was spot on, friendly in every way. You could tell she enjoys her job. We didn’t lack for anything. I would give more stars if I could but definitely 5/5
I came at an off hour 3:00pm so I don't have high expectations for the atmosphere or service. That said it was just mediocre. The food was definitely not anything to write home about I ordered calamari, Mongolian beef xx spicy with veggies rather than rice a $2.50 upcharge, with hot and sour soup. $38 The soup was disappointing not very hot nor spicy. Definitely needs more flavor and the mushrooms didn't seem freshly prepared for the soup that always disappoints me as I am a big fan of mushrooms. The calamari was actually okay. It was crispy and salty, the chilies a nice touch since there wasn't much flavor in the breading. I enjoyed the simplicity. The fried potato chips are a nice touch adding color and a little something extra to the plate. The Mongolian beef came out. The veggies lacked any love from the chef being simply steamed and unseasoned. I'd suggest grilling or a nice pan sear to liven them up. It came with more fried potato chips it was nice with the calamari but now it is being over used and acting as too much of a filler they also just get soggy on a plate with sauces from the beef. The beef was nice it was cooked well and I was pleased it wasn't too sweet like I often find places. It wasn't however spicy even though I had asked for xx spicy. They rectified this by bringing me out more sauce that was made "spicy" it also wasn't but the bowl of fresh chilies that accompanied it was the perfect flx. It should have had some nice chilis to begin with. Overall my verdict is.. lack of flavor. Probably won't come back, however, it is edible and the fact nothing was too sweet is a major win.
This is one of the best sushi restaurants in ALL of Central Florida. I live in Orlando and there are some awesome places on that side of town…Akina equals, if not surpasses, all of them. I would happily drive the near-hour long drive regularly to Akina because this place has such good food!!
I’ve been here a billion times at this point and have a few favorites: roti prata is an absolute must - a unique flaky flatbread from Malaysia that you can dip in a wonderful curry sauce. Definitely get this!! The spicy edamame is also a great option, gyoza is always solid, summer rolls are some of the best I’ve ever had, tuna and salmon tataki are also both some of the best I’ve had, and fried appetizers like the calamari and panko crusted shrimp are really good too. If I were to choose three right now, I’d get the roti prata, either tuna or salmon tataki, and summer rolls!
Regarding sushi, here are my favorite rolls: godzilla, hanabi special, heaven, kamikaze, king dragon, Louisiana, Seattle, and temptation! Special nod to the hanabi special, heaven, and temptation - these are the rolls that keep bringing me back!! They are absolutely incredible and on par with the best sushi I’ve had anywhere around the world…and I’ve been to Japan, London, Dubai, and other places that have exceptional sushi as well!!
If you want a massive roll that’s essentially the size of two, get the king dragon - don’t be frightened with its price. Lobster is expensive and it’s a MASSIVE roll - you only need that and an appetizer and you’d have a great meal. However, please do yourself a favor and try the three I mentioned earlier IF you like unique and different sushi rolls. If you’re a fan of the simple stuff like California, Philadelphia and volcano rolls, sure, get those instead. But, if you’re wanting something different, you’ll love the hanabi special, heaven, and temptation rolls. The only things I haven’t tried from Akina yet are the regular dinner entrees (steak, chicken, and Japanese/Chinese/Thai dishes), but based off other reviews, they seem great as well.
This is just an awesome restaurant and you need to try it ASAP if you’re on the fence. You won’t be disappointed!
First time dining here tonight and we had a really great hostess - Eve- who recommended her favorites and then we picked some of our own! Food was fresh and rather quick! Atmosphere was nice too and it’s neat to be able to have a sushi place so close to home too. Everyone kept busy in the restaurant which is great to see that service is still important to the team here. The red curry sauce in the cup in the pic is amazing and Eve said you can’t order the same sauce in the curry chicken which I will try next time. Delicious and thank you!
Went to this restaurant Dec 7th with my family while visiting Florida. Took their time seating us, which could be understandable considering there are 7 of us and it does take time to prepare the seating arrangement. Once seated, we were there for about 15 minutes and no one had taken drink orders or even engaged with us. The tipping point was when a party that came in much later than us had their drink orders taken promptly, and we in turn promptly left. Don't know if it was just the waiter assigned to us that shit the bed here, but I would not recommend this place at all to anyone. Get your house in order.
Food is great, definitely will be back again and again. Friendly staff make it a comfortable experience
Had an incredible time at Aji Sushi & Teppan! Our server, Tom, was fantastic—super attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The hibachi experience was so much fun, from the impressive knife skills to the flaming onion volcano. I got the chicken and steak combo, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Everyone at our table loved their food, and we all left happy and full. Can’t wait to come back for another great meal!
We have been to this restaurant many many times and every time the food is fresh and tastes amazing! The service has always been awesome too! Everyone is so nice there. Today (Mother’s Day) we came and without a reservation they greeted us and treated us nice and dinner was amazing once more!! Loooove this place!
Great place!

15 years ago, this was THE sushi restaurant in Clermont. 10 years ago, this spot still had great value. Shrinkflation hits every segment. Smaller rolls, double the price...definition of MID.
I've been eating at Akina for over 19 years and just finished the best meal I've ever had. I ordered Shrimp General Tsao. Medium spice. I don't think I will ever order enough entree. Thank you Akina for a great meal.
Great food!
Christmas Eve. Phone line was off hook for hours as they were short staffed. Because of this we had to go in person to order takeout. Greeter was polite and we got our order within reasonable time ( 30 min ). We got sushi rolls and thought they were good but small portion compared to other places.
Always friendly, good sushi and spicy edamame
The food wasn’t bad but WOW it was expensive. My regular sushi gets $6.50 for an order of Tuna Sushi/naguri which is 2 pieces. Here it was $12.00! Almost double. Overall there are equal options that cost less.
It was very expensive and small to go portions for the price !!
I’ve been here over 10 times. Literally love this place. Hospitality and food are unmatched.
My husband and I love this place! Sushi is always fresh, and the service is always friendly!
The food and sushi here is outstanding! I moved to another area an hour away and we still go every once in awhile, just fantastic!
Food, service and people NEVER disappoint!
This place will nickel & dime you for everything. It was our first time trying it out (avid sushi eaters) and we couldn’t have been any more disappointed. We expressed our disappointment but it didn’t phase the management. It’s all about the $ here. Customer satisfaction is not of any importance. Our family will never be back.

Absolutely spectacular General Tso chicken, lo mein, fried rice and eel roll. The waiters are on point. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The prices were great considering the quality of food and service.
What a find! We tried a variety of dishes and all were excellent! Highly recommend. Jennifer was so friendly and informative. Thanks for a great Anniversary experience!
Amazing. Temptation roll is the best ive ever eaten
And fast, friendly service, absolutely delicious pepper steak, dinner, great atmosphere, even though they were very busy. Five stars absolutely
The restaurant ia nice and the sushi is delicious. The waiters are very attentive in general.
Normally I’m not a big fish guy but the food was very good. Definitely going back there.
Always the best food and service here! There's no better Asian cuisine than Akina!
Stopped in for an early lunch as soon as they open. Was greeted with kindness and exceptional service. Food was excellent! Crunchy roll was one of the best we've had and teriyaki chicken was top notch. Absolutely recommended if you love sushi.
The service is good but the food is subpar. The fish tasted stale and the rolls were cut fat. I won’t be eating here again.
Best Sushi!
pricey for portions but tasty
We love this place.
We recently found this place, the people were super friendly, huge menu and we all had great food. Sushi was great and so was the fried rice, I’ll certainly be back.
Went to Akina for lunch. Great food andgreat service
Always a good experience can't order a bad plate. Service does backflips on command.
I am updating my review from several years ago. Mostly the same wait staff is always on point. Never had an issue with taste...so good all the time. Super clean. Why atmosphere dropped...an older female employee was disciplining another employee...a young male ..at the front desk. So unprofessional!!! And she did this several times to the same young man. Really bad way to run a business. Love everything else but honestly won't be back because of that disrespectful display.
Never order the seafood medley with chill sauce! It was horrible! Couldn't taste the flavor of the seafood other than the fish was tough and dry! All I could taste was the Chilli sauce that they literally drowned the seafood in. Now I've spent most of the night and morning in the restroom! I think they used the Chilli sauce to hide the taste of old seafood! I paid way to much money $55 total for something that literally messed up my stomach!
Outstanding I must say, the food is priceless I could not put no money value on how good this food is. And the service from the front desk all the way to the end when you leave is amazing the people are so kind and always come check on you .the food and the price is amazing I would go every month to this place how much I love it .
Thanks again
Steam cleaner service
Food was awesome Love going there.
Excellent food and the service was quick. Parking was easy.
One of my family's favorite places in town. Best fried rice (my daughter loves the kids chicken fried rice)! Honey Garlic chicken ftw for me and of course sushi is delicious too.
Best hot & sour soup. Love the menu selection. Food is delicious.
Date night here was cute and quiet, with gorgeous delicious dishes. Cameron was our server and he was great, checked on us regularly but gave us our space as well, great service. Food was amazing, we'll definitely be back. We had Yakitori and miso soup apps, and sushi we had Dragonfly, Caterpillar and Rainbow rolls. All were beautiful, dragonfly was our favorite. 🍣🥢

Took my wife for an early dinner and we were immediately seated and greeted with friendly smiles. Our server was attentive and took care of us well. We shared the chicken yakitori skewers for an appetizer. I had the Crispy Beef with fried rice which was excellent. My wife had the avocado and cucumber roll and the shrimp tempura roll. If you are looking for higher quality Asian food in Clermont this is the place. I recommend it and will be back again.
The sushi was good. My son tried noodles for the first time. I enjoyed the summer rolls with the peanut sauce. Great start to the meal.
Bento box with salmon sashimi is the best option, starting with a tasty miso soup
Have eaten at Akina several times..always like the food. We ordered sweet and sour chichen and chichen with eggplant. Usuallt my favorite..tonite it was awful. I should not have ordered it as take out. They mixed it all together in one bos. The tempura eggplant which should have been light an slightly crispy was a heavy soggy mess.. why wasn't someone smart enough to separate. The flavor was just not there. At $27.00, it was a Huge disappointment. The sweet and sour sauce for the chichen was strange..almost like licorice was added.. I ordered this at 4pm today to be picked up at 5. Perhaps regular cooks were not in. It will be a long while before we are back.
Everything we had was amazing. I didn't remember to take pictures. We had Sweet & Sour Chicken and Pepper Steak.
Great food. The service was great. If you like sushi you will love this place
Service was great, food was good. Portions don't equal the pricing we felt.
This is our place when we want sushi or an Asian-fusion meal. Consistently good food.
Always great service, and amazing food. Generous portions and worth the price. It is definitely the best Asian spot in Clermont.

The best
Akina is some of the best Asian food I’ve ever had! And the tastiest sushi. Definitely recommend, even if a little pricey, but good portions.

Great food, friendly staff!
First time purchasing food from this restaurant. It was simple delicious. I highly recommend!
Great Food Always!!! Happy people with great service!!
It was very good 💯% recommended
6 of us went. Meals all come out at different times. One meal was crispy beef which then came overcooked.
Been here before and it was ok, not this time. Will not come back in a hurry.
Very nice
Good selection
Nice staff
Amazing customer service
And the food is also amazing always my favorite place to eat
Love Akina, we go often. However it's time they need to update the carpet, tables etc
Great experience! Loved the food and the environment. I highly recommend it. I recommend the General Tso’s Chicken ❤️
My first time dining experience at Akina Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional.. The food was exquisite, it's very clean, and the service, particularly from the manager, Doreen, was outstanding. From start to finish, Akina exceeded my expectations and left me eager to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a high quality Sushi and Asian food.
A little noisy. Some type of sound dampening is need. I felt like I was part of the conversation of near by tables. I got an assortment of shashimi, but had to select each peice from the menus. I prefer when a restaurant offers a special chef selected platter. Other than that everything was great. Warm, friendly, attentive staff, great taste and presentation of the meal, well lit room and quick service. Overall a very nice experience.
The sushi was okay, sort of bland. I've definitely had better sushi around Orlando. Flagging down our waitress was a challenge even though the restaurant was mostly empty. The place wasn't terrible, but I'll probably look elsewhere for sushi next time I'm in the area.
Great place to have dinner or lunch if you're in the area
So good
I love this place a lot! I have been going here for a while now. But today was pretty awful, to say the least. I had a server named kamden ask him for a roll of sushi that I always get deepfried, and he said that they can't do it. I have been getting the same dish for a long time. He never asked anyone if they could just assume they wouldn't. I'll change the rating once this is resolved. Also, there was broken plastic in the soy sauce. This use to be a great place.
Food was delicious 😋. Enjoyed every bit and took home leftovers.
Fantastic family restaurant!!! Excellent Asian food!!!
Our favorite place for Asian food. Great staff! Never a bad dish!
Every time I order take out or dine in at this restaurant, their food is delicious! I truly love Akina Sushi restaurant.
My partner has eaten here previously and invited a group of 14 for New Year’s Eve dinner. The last time she was there, there was apparently a flooded restroom, but that doesn’t play into my review. The other persons had mixed opinions about the quality of the food so I can’t offer a qualified opinion on that, however the customer service I received was deplorable. I ordered tempura eggplant ( the same as the person sitting next to me. What was brought out was a tempura mixed appetizer which I hadn’t ordered. The waiter left the appetizer on the table and indicated he would bring out the main course eggplant dinner which I repeated. Some 20 minutes later, after everyone else in the party had already been served, the waiter brought out a shrimp and eggplant dinner (not what I ordered). I advised the waiter again that it was not what I had ordered but would accept that as opposed to waiting an additional 10-15 minutes to remake the order hopefully correctly. After the meal I received the check and was charged for both the appetizer not ordered and the shrimp/eggplant fish at some $9.00 more than what I had ordered. The waiter indicated that Since I had wrapped u[ the appetizer to go since it had been left on the table, I was being charged for same. I unboxed the appetizer so it could be returned to the kitchen for disposal, and the waiter reluctantly then removed same from my bill. I indicated I also shouldn’t have been charged the additional $9.00 for his mistake in giving me the incorrect main course, and he just shrugged off the complaint with no further adjustment to the bill. Fortunately for the restaurant they also tacked a gratuity onto the check so there was no other remedy available to me and I didn’t want to make a scene at the restaurant. Really poor way for management to treat customers - especially given that we had brought in a group of 14 patrons. Needless to say if this establishment rips off customers like~ this, I could never recommend the establishment
The food was excellent and fresh. The service was very nice and friendly! Definitely recommend, we will be back
It looked pretty from outside but inside it was dirty, especially the floors. The tables were not cleaned between patrons. Service was friendly. Aside from the caterpillar roll that we ordered, the other sushi rolls were dry. We ordered thin rice they still all came out with heavy rice which overpowered the taste of the other ingredients. Rolls were expensive. For 3 rolls and 2 teas, we spent almost $70 including tip.
Excelente
The hostess was nice and sat us right away. The table was dirty so she cleaned it. We sat there for 15 minutes while multiple members of the wait staff walked by us multiple times and never acknowledged us once. Another party came in and the waitress attended to them within a minute. We made the hostess aware and left at that point. I wish I could rate the food but I never got the opportunity to taste it.
Skyler is very nice! Friendly and prompt service.
Food was excellent and the people are very nice and attentive.
Love this restaurant. Their food is always top notch delicious! And their staff is always so friendly.
General tao chicken not consistent. Had to spit half of it out due to be too chewy and hard that I thought it was raw. Will never go back.
Incredible food and our waitress Margie was amazing!
Our waiter Daniel was GREAT! He was happy and informative. My husband absolutely loved his sushi and I ordered sashimi. They were the largest pieces of sashimi I have ever eaten. However I would have rather had smaller slices of the fish.
Clean restaurant. Great portions for the price.
I love going here the food is always so good especially the sushi. I ended up trying something new and was very happy with it.
Responding to your post. To be corrected I was there on September 24, 2023 and physically gave my server my credit card. My thoughts are neither premature or ignorant as you stated. I went to your business yesterday and spoke with another manager because I just want to get to the bottom of this and pursue charges against this fraudulent activity. As I should, I have gone to my bank and authorities. The facts are still the same to me whether you care to believe them or not. Thanks for taking the time! Do not go there. I went there on Sept 27, 2023 and my server stole my credit card information and charged over $700.00 on my card. She needs to be fired and I am pressing charges against her.
Fantastic food. Amazing atmosphere. Great service. Must go again.
Been here a few times food is nice and fresh and taste delicious, love the crispy beef , terriyaki beef great also,my mom always gets eggplant with shrimp and raves about it. Service his good and food comes out quick. Definitely would recommend this place
Excellent sushi, very fresh
The food is excellent and consistent. Servers are efficient and friendly. Anything I’ve tried here is good, although General Tso Chicken is my favorite. Prices are reasonable.
The food was absolutely amazing!
I have celiac and told them and they took the time to help make sure they could make accommodations for me. They did amazing! I got the beef and broccoli and our table got 6 or 7 different roles and the chicken fried rice. 5/5! Will be back!
Great service and staff. I tried them once for a fancy sushi roll and was not impressed I did a basic tuna roll today, and same thing. They add to much rice vinegar to the rice of the sushi making it way to sweet. The tuna was fresh but the taste of the roll was way overpowered by the rice vinegar sweetness. I had the dumplings and miso soup also and those were very good. Just bad sushi, but I'm spoiled with knowing good sushi.
We ordered party trays for a large family gathering. We had honey garlic chicken, seafood combo, Singapore noodles, broccoli chicken, pepper steak and bok choy. Everyone loves the food. Singapore noodles and seafood combo were the fav.
Food is very good and price is not bad at all
Good food
Best place to eat Asian food in Clermont FL ❤️
Great food!

Very good! The General Tso chicken was amazing. The chicken was mostly chicken and not breading like you get from chinese takeout. The helping size was also big enough to take home leftovers!
Excelente comida
Great food
Amazingly good food. I’ve lived here a few years but never went. It’s a bit more expensive than a regular place but so worth it. I traveled a lot in Asia and this is just as good.
The overall was very poor for the price; the service was ok but they need to reinforce the suggestions i feel that they try to sell instead of making good decisions. The fish was fresh and the roll size was good but i still think that is overpriced is not a good complement with the atmosphere and service.
Good service, clean restaurant, and excellent food!
This was my first visit, and very much looking forward to another visit.
HIGHLY recommend!
Great menu and Marge was an excellent waitress very friendly and helpful in our choice of sushi
Food was mediocre for the price.
I have been eating here for a few years now and am never disappointed. The sushi is always fresh and service is always friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
Food was great, prices were a little higher than we thought they should be, but good sushi is good sushi!
It's a Pepsi restaurant. We had sushi but what passed us from the kitchen looked good.
Quick service and great food! Great sushi
Better than Morimoto in Disney! This place is authentic and Japanese owned and operated. Rare to see.
The food can stand alone but add in the atmosphere, great staff and all of the small details on the plate makes this a 5 Star Review.
This place deserves an award, don't sleep on Akina.
Daniel S Gracias por tu Exelente Services Dios te Bendiga Siempre 🙏
Delicious nigiri, really hit the spot after being in the sun!
I had the General Tso chicken. It was so good
I also love their hot and sour soup that is loaded with vegetables. Chris, a new waiter at Akina, was very attentive to our needs and very friendly. This is one of our favorite restaurants.
Love this place. Great variety on the menu. Excellent food & service.
we love the orange chicken, it’s really a favorite with our family. Staff is so friendly every time we come in. Really great place.
Been here many times and loved the food everytime.
The last visit ruined it though. We had a vegetarian in our group. They gave him his "veggie" sushi. After he ate it they brought out another roll and said they original was the incorrect one and they were not sure what was, but said it was probably shrimp (what if he was allergic?!). The server walked away without an apology.
Absolutely great food and service
Sushi is bomb! Sooooo good. Definitely on the top of my list for sushi.
We went to Akina for my girlfriends birthday.
This is the third consecutive time that I've gone to Akina and they have neglected to make my eel order correctly.
Whenever I order the barbecued eel entree (listed as Unajyu) it is either mistaken for an eel roll or it's not made at all.
Today my server gave me the eel roll on the house and told me that they started making the eel entree. But when I got the entree and took a bite it tasted like charcoal so I picked it up and looked, the whole bottom was burnt so I peeled off the burnt parts. But it was too late, every bite tasted like char after biting it already. I told my server and paid the check and tipped.
Our appetizers were great. My girlfriend loved her Gen.Tso's entree. The service is always great.
But, you win Akina. I will never order Unajyu again.
Great food but busy for dinner.
the best in lake county
Ok food, but mostly stock ingredients, so nothing special about the flavors. The sushi is ok, but leaves something to be desired. Spent $23 for a salad and one Roll.
As a sushi chef, not worth the price. Try Publix sushi, you won’t be more disappointed
sushi is fine, noodle dishes are gross. the chicken and beef in my yaki udon tasted and looked like it was boiled?? chicken “teriyaki” was unlike anything i’ve seen before. pad thai was insanely bland. vegetables were good and the staff was friendly. if you’re looking for anything close to authentic japanese dishes, this place is far from it (especially for the cost).
Amazing!!! The Musibi platter was on point. The chef made the rolls just right. I'm allergic to shell food and they were able to make it just right for me. The miso soup like no other and that ginger sauce was on point. Thanks Marginfor your customer service. Highly recommend.
