Hip, modern restaurant offering Thai food, sushi & creative cocktails, also for delivery.
To start off the staff of this restaurant are super friendly. Made you feel super welcomed. The food was overall excellent. From the noodles to the sushi all of it had lots of flavor. The basil fried rice was the star of the show however. Super rich in flavor! Highly recommended getting it extra spicy. Definitely finish it off with mango and sticky rice because it's always a solid dessert.
My worst dining experience in DC by far in over 30 years. People issue, not food. After two visits and spending over 110 dollars, I’ve decided to provide feedback about their Tom Yum Coong soup that wasn’t good. I was harassed by the manager and I felt physically threatened just trying to help with feedback. This place is in a very high crime neighborhood in DC, bathrooms have coded locks, etc. unfortunately, people are also bad, unfriendly.
We live in the neighborhood and love ordering from Pantry. Their soups and Thai food are perfect for nights in. I mainly order their sushi but have enjoyed everything on the menu so far. Their delivery is pretty quick too. So glad we have them here!!
We ate around 1 pm on a Tuesday and had no issue getting a table. Theres an outdoor patio, but it wasn't set up.
The Pantry is interesting because it's also a small Asian grocery story, so I like to get the occasional last-minute ingredient from there.
Today, we ordered the salmon lovers roll, crab Rangoon, rainbow roll, Philadelphia roll, and the soft shell crab roll (forgot the name). All were really very good ! I really liked the softshell crab roll. I wouldn't say this was earth-shattering sushi, but it was still very good. I look forward to trying the Thai food they have.
First time trying this location per reviews and was overall ok with the experience. Starting with customer service it was ok however note you cannot order lunch specials to go as they are dine in only.
Ordered the spicy wings with the sauce on the side and the smell of the chicken by itself wasn't to pleasing and was completely unseasoned. However, it does pair well with the sauce once accompanied.
Ordered the shrimp and chicken fried rice also which was good. Note it is not Chinese fried rice so you won't get all the components such as mung bean sprouts and the rice is different. However, I was really impressed with the taste and freshness of this dish. I was looking for the best fried rice in DC and some of the reviews stated this was the place. I won't contest it as I don't have another reputable place to refer however it was tasty and I would recommend.
My server was so nice! Soup was delicious ❤️
Simply delish and fresh with great service. We'll definitely be back.
Ordered the drunken noodles with beef, less spicy, and it was amazing. Restaurant was clean and the market is cute. Prices feel a few dollars too high.
Love the food and service! Have brought multiple friends who loved the food after I was introduced this place by a friend.

The panang curry was to die for!
Always a solid option and pleasant service.
Convenient, good, comfort food. Haven't tried the sushi.
Quaint atmosphere, the food is so good. I literally drove across town for the Yum Nua 🔥 fast service, delicious food; what more could someone ask for??

Consistently high quality and tasty food and good service - highly recommend.
Great Thai food and ambience. Casual and superb for the area
The BEST curry EVER!!!! Fresh, full of vegetables and flavors. Great service!
I am always surprised why the restaurant isn’t crowded with customers. The food is always delicious and fresh, beautifully presented, with a pleasant interior and exceptionally polite staff. I wish you only prosperity.
This is the best place for Sushi in this area of DC!
Absolutely amazing sushi!! Our favorites were the White and Green and the Crunchy Sriracha, all super fresh and tasty!! So glad to have found Pantry, we’ll be back soon to try the Thai!

Had to write a review for this hidden gem 💎!
My date night favorite with my daughter for fresh sushi and Thai dishes. Friend who's a regular recommended it and once we went it wasn't a fail. Tuesday nights are take-out for us, strongly recommend to experience.
So tastyyy
Great sushi, pad see ew is the best I’ve had in DC, and I appreciate the mini market for Asian cooking staples. Service is very attentive. So glad I found this place!
Yum yum yum! Excellent food and a great atmosphere. Used to eat here all the time when I lived nearby. I always make a point to stop in when I'm in the area. Plus, the little grocery area is clutch.
We love this spot for Sunday lunch after church. Tasty food, good portions, and great service.

Honestly some of the best Thai food we’ve had. Their flat noodles are to die for. Not your typical cheap Thai food noodles, these are thicc, chewy, and perfectly cooked with a bit of char. Almost approaching mochi chew. The meat in the dishes was also cooked perfectly. Not dry as a bone like you’ll typically get in American Thai food.
The food is always so fresh and delicious and the staff is so nice!
Our go-to thai spot in all of DC
We had dinner on a recent evening. Food was very good. Well prepared and enjoyable. We really enjoy both Thai and sushi, so this place is a great combination. Service was okay, but would have appreciated more attentiveness (water refills, checking on need for another beer, etc...). Will definitely want to return again to try more Thai dishes.
food is always high quality and the staff are really nice. One of our favorite places in our neighborhood.
Great food every time. Never disappoints
I recently enjoyed dining at "Pantry," which was an outstanding experience. The food was not just good; it was excellent! Every dish was a burst of flavors that left me craving for more.
The ambiance at "Pantry" is delightful. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff make it a perfect place to visit, whether for a special occasion or a casual meal.
I highly recommend "Pantry" for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food in a charming setting. This place deserves five stars!
Love. Love. Love. The Krapow was top tier!!!
The kaprow was so so good! We loved the market esthetic as well. Great place! We will definitely be back!
The food is always great here whether you're getting pineapple fried rice or sushi
Yummy
Likely best to eat inside the cute restaurant. I opted for the outdoor sidewalk seating and all of Georgia Ave rushing by noisily did not enhance my meal experience. Veggie empanadas 🥟 were the most tasty thing I ordered. Lackluster coconut tofu mushroom lemongrass soup and papaya salad did not leave me wanting more from this spot.
It looks cute inside. Should have sat inside. Might have had better service and ambiance. Food was lackluster.
Only thing delicious were the vegan empanadas. Flaky crust and warm scrumptious veggie filling accompanied with an almost too sweet cucumber vinegar dipping sauce made them worth the stop.
Creme nigori sake chilled thankfully made the rest forgettable.
The coconut tofu mushroom soup needed to be less weirdly sugary and have more substantial pieces of mushroom and tofu. Bravo for the carrots at least! The huge hard pieces of lemongrass root that were not edible were a turn off. I love soft lemongrass shoots in food... When they are edible, not when I'm picking them out of my mouth to keep from cutting my throat.
The papaya salad tasted like the sauce was made from ketchup rather than fish sauce or even vinegar and umami flavor. Wilted and poor tasting standard lettuce base was a turn off.
Overall lackluster Thai soup and salad.
Pad Thai was incredible delicious, recommend🙏🏼
Everything is super tasty, the service is very friendly and quick. I come with my dog to sit outside and everyone is always so welcoming. 100% recommend.
Excellent spot for a night out, including date night. Easy atmosphere for conversation if you can take a break from the delicious food. Broad options on the menu including drinks. Like others have said, the wait staff is friendly and attentive without hovering. We had the shrimp Paf Thai and the chicken Pad King. Also tried the warm sake. Highly recommend.
Been getting takeout here for a long time and it always delivers. It’s one of the few places I felt had good thai food and sushi. Highly recommend sushi platter B. It’s not the highest quality fish around but it’s fresh enough to be enjoyable and a good value. Spring rolls are bomb, crispy duck, pad thai, curry. Nice people and happy to support them.
We love Pantry! Great happy hour, super friendly service and quality food. Some of the best pad Thai I've had in DC, curries are flavorful and the sushi rolls are excellent. Portions are large enough to split. We are frequent visitors and will keep coming back.
Excellent Thai food & sushi
Amazing, tasty. Good service
Amazing food.
Good every time. Get the red curry or panang curry if you want something vegetarian, filling, and delicious.
Two of my friends experienced racism here. My experiences seemed okay until I witnessed staff mistreat a group of young Black visitors who inquired about the menu. My guest and I found the matter distasteful. We completed our meals, left with a solid tip, then never returned. This happened in 2022.
Pantry is probably closer to 4.5 than 4 stars, but I'm not feeling super generous today.
Pantry suffers from what all Thai-Japanese fusion restraunts seem to suffer from, which is that they are a jack-of-all-trades but a master of none. Most of the dishes fall into the category "just good", but no real wow factor, or super authentic flavors.
Prices seemed mostly in line with quality.
Food was phenomenal. Very pleasantly surprised. Chicken fried rice was the best I've ever had.
Everything was great. Try the fried sushi!
Food and service are good. Not your regular looking restaurant.
Ordered my food to go and arrived at the location and decided I wanted to dine in and have a few cocktails and the manger then began to say “ I am okay with you dinning in this time but next time let us know because we are busy” this statement is very disturbing because customer service would have just seated us. The manager is so rude!! All we wanted was our food in the to go bag to sit at the bar to eat and enjoy some cocktails. There was no one In the restaurant so I thought we were being racially profiled. The manger then begin to yell in my face that I am not understanding what she is saying and that they get very busy and your suppose to let them know if you want to dine in but I was confused because no one was in the restaurant. What do you do when a customer just walks in to dine? I then began to let it go and stop speaking to her because she was so argumentative. I started to speak privately with the group what had transpired and how shock I was by the managers response and behavior. Highly unprofessional! The manager aggressively walked up at the table where we were having a discussion and continued to yell in my face and roll up her sleeves as if she wanted to fight me. At this point I will be contacting whatever source i need to and I am seeking to contact the Better business bureau and fox news because I felt attacked by this woman as where I decided to not dine at all. I have always ordered from this place and never recieved this type of service due to the fact I work in the apartment community down the street. The service today was disgusting and humiliating, it made me feel wanted and belittled. The manager needs to be fired immediately!! I WILL NOT ORDER FROM HERE EVER AGAIN PLEASE RUN FROM THIS LOCATION.
This is a good place except for the vegetarian options. The tofu has a weird texture and doesn't taste very good. Vegetarians don't want tofu! The mixed vegetables at Beau Thai are much better
I ordered delivery and everything turned out pretty well! I ordered the chicken satay, which comes with a peanut sauce and this other sweet vinegar-like sauce. Then I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the spicy roll with tuna + crunchy + cucumber. I also ordered an extra spicy Mayo side sauce. The shrimp tempura was delicious, it was topped with eep sauce and also had avocado and chives included. The spicy tuna roll was good, the crunchy topping was a bit weird - something I’m not used to having on sushi but it was good. The chicken satay was nothing special but I did really like the side sauces. Overall pretty good but a bit pricey. I’d like to definitely try more of their dishes in person.
Delicious
I have to go back and try other menu items but from what I had everything was fresh and I loved my to go container of my ginger mojito! So yummy 😋
I’ve ordered from here several times, and typically the food is really good. The staff are super friendly. But today I bit into a piece of sushi and hurt my teeth because there was a staple in the sushi. I tried calling-not so much to complain but to alert them to this serious issue-but the phone number listed immediately ends the call. I won’t be coming back after this dangerous incident.
Part store and part restaurant. You can have your dinner and get your things all in one place. The food was good and fresh. Everything was cooked to order and in house. The service was nice. It's not a huge place so plan for that.
it was jhi nasty esshi.. made my stomach hurt.. rice was nasty. only gave me a little bit of calamari for $8. and they cut the chicken and onions big and put tomatoes on the rice.. but the sushi was good
Wonderful service, fair prices and great food. Both the sushi and Thai food is excellent.
Super great spring rolls, amazing kao soi, in person you get more than takeout, great sushi, good happy hour, overall a great time 8.73/10
Very cute and tasty spot. I did not use the restroom but the entrance and both levels are wheelchair accessible (no steps into the shop and a ramp to the lower split level). Tasty food and cocktails but I’m excited to see some kitchen stables available for sale and can’t wait to go back to pick up some old favorites.
Since moving I’ve missed se Asian shops like mitsuwa and lion market so Pantry was nice to stumble upon for dinner.
Très bon thaï! Toute la famille a vraiment apprécié. Le mélange de café, bar, marché et restaurant est vraiment très agréable. Très bon service!
The food is delicious as always. The sushi is very fresh.
Food is always great. But my food was left on the porch this time and I didn't know it had arrived. Food was cold. I received no phone call and driver did ring the door bell.
אחלה אוכל, יש happy hour בין 3 ו7 ואז יש מנות מוזלות. החריף באמת חריף והאוכל מאוד מאוד טעים. מומלץ בחום.
We ordered takeout for 11 people. Our faves were drunken noodles, pad thai, panang chicken, spring rolls, and pad see ew. The tom ka soup had cabbage in it, which we weren’t expecting, and chewy inedible root vegetables. The rest of the soup was good. Fair prices and close to home, we will be ordering takeout again.
Delicious red curry
Delicious
To start off the staff of this restaurant are super friendly. Made you feel super welcomed. The food was overall excellent. From the noodles to the sushi all of it had lots of flavor. The basil fried rice was the star of the show however. Super rich in flavor! Highly recommended getting it extra spicy. Definitely finish it off with mango and sticky rice because it's always a solid dessert.
Please give more delivery options and a wider delivery radius (because what does it really matter if another company can deliver?) I live pretty close by and I prefer Pantry, but you give no choice but pickup.
The food was delicious! The pad Thai and the chicken wing appetizers - superb! Good service. It's a favorite spot.
Good service. Good food
I love this place. It’s very quaint, bright, and clean. The pad Thai I ordered was delicious! Honestly probably the best pad Thai I had since I moved in the area two years ago. I didn’t too much enjoy the pomegranate margarita. It’s very tart and doesn’t have too much flavor to me personally. The service here at this place was great!
Uno de mis lugares favoritos en DC. Buena comida y a buen precio
I loved the place! The staff were incredibly nice and the food was great. The addition of a market is also incredibly welcome. The lack of seating area was a downer, but usually it's not busy so it's not a particular issue. If you're looking for a quick and tasty bite on a casual afternoon of your DC Trip, this is highly recommended.
Food was a little burnt, not sure if it was supposed to be, but it wasn't bad. Vibe was nice though, prices decent.
One of the best in the city.
Consistently delicious food. Can’t get enough of the veggie Tom Kha and Yum Nua! Very pleasant front of house. Sushi can be hit or miss but everything else we’ve tried is amazing.
Tasty tasty food! I live just 2 block away and I can’t believe I went there for the first time recently! Now it’s my to go spot. The food variety and quality is amazing. The place is very clean, neat, great for lunch. The prices are a bit higher than a regular lunch but it’s all worth it. Really recommend!
Above average food. Deserves a 5 rating. I dined in, was a spacious but intimate. As well as it being a more upscale market. Price per plate value as well. Warm staff.
Best Drunken noodles in D.C.
Great neighborhood Thai spot!
Pantry is a gem. I've been there so many times since I've discovered it. They have a wide variety of dishes and everything I've tried has been delicious. The pumpkin empanadas are so great.
In addition to having great food, they have a selection of pantry items like curry paste and coconut sugar that are had to find elsewhere.
Nice neighborhood spot right at the metro exit. The sushi is good and fresh. Nice teas and drinks.
Just had a take away.We ordered Thaï food, which tasted like bad generic Asian fast food. Not Thai --not fresh or well spiced. First and last time we eat or order here.
Great dumplings 🙂
Cute inside, fast and friendly service and delicious food!
a superb red curry with tofu. Note that they do not give you enough rice, however, so you should make some at home.
Pantry restaurant is a great place to bring your friends and family friendly employees are very intelligent and helpful.
Ordered here twice - both times had the $17 poke bowl. Bowls have both salmon and tuna - freshness of fish in both locations was excellent. Poke bowls also came with a large number of Japanese cuisine accoutrements, including high-quality rice and fresh ginger.
Great date spot or dinner out. The pad see yew was great and the sushi was surprisingly good. Would recommend!
Amazing poke bowl and curry dishes. Also excellent ambiance and presentation. Will be coming back a lot!
Good takeout too but really good vibes if you want to dine in
I ordered a few sushi rolls here for lunch and was very happy with the product. The rolls were tasty and the fish seemed fresh.
It is good
Always fresh! And pretty affordable! Updated my review as i have come here 3 times this month and the staff manages to be more rude each visit. This is my most local sushi spot so i have given more time trying to understand attitudes but at this point it is unacceptable.
Very good Thai food 👍 Excellent customer service 👍
Torch
I like coming here a lot, it’s the perfect calm sushi spot that is by Howard. The service is great but so so sometimes. But you definitely should give it a try!
I had the Pad Thai and it was probably the best that I've had.
The sushi is wonderful (so fresh!!!) and it is a highlight of living in the neighborhood. I order from them weekly. The food is consistently delicious. Hands down my favorite sushi and Thai food in DC. You will not be disappointed!!
Covid safe. Very clean. The food-phenomenal. The staff very sweet and helpful. Food I’ve wasted unnecessary money on when I could’ve cooked at home that was TOTALLY worth it. 10/10 place.
Great sushi/Thai location right next to the Georgia Ave. Metro stop. For two, we usually get their "sushi deluxe set C" with a noodle or rice entree. Their take-away is prepared as fresh/right-before-you-arrive as possible, which makes this place a repeat choice for us every few months. Worth a visit!
Definitely one of the tastier eateries in DC. The food is fresh and wholesome and I think they use natural herbs and spices to flavour their food - no MSG!
I cannot believe we haven't left a review before, as we eat here often. Pre-pandemic, we loved eating here in-person because it is absolutely charming inside. The vibe/environment they've created is adorable and cozy, and the market they have is fabulous. They were also always so nice about us having our baby (and later, toddler) with us—and it's often hard to find spots that are friendly with little kids.
During the pandemic, we've ordered delivery from here several times and not only is the sushi delicious, but it always arrives SO BEAUTIFULLY presented. We've never received sushi for delivery that looks so well presented from anywhere else. Highly recommend Pantry Thai!
Beautiful interior and delicious food -- can't go wrong with any of the noodle or curry dishes. There's also a nice little market inside with all kinds of Asian cooking staples. I bought a few different curry pastes that I had never been able to find in the standard grocery stores.
WOW, delicious. 5/5 stars.
I love it
Great service and crew, I had house salad and really liked the peanut dressing. I also had nagiri salmon and tuna, both really nice.
I hope COVID ends and we go back to silverware instead of plastics forks and straws.
I haven't tasted the food yet. Kinda scared to. Delivery is awful the guy called asking for a tip before he even arrived. I called to cancel they said they couldn't. He delivered the food smelling like liquor.
