This was some of the best sushi around! Highly recommend the Salmon/Tuna lover appetizer. Didnβt get a photo because I jumped in too fast, but it was absolutely amazing. Pictured is the Fantastic Four Roll with a bowl of Seafood Miso soup.
Wonderful staff and atmosphere!
This is my second time here and I just wanted to go to a place where the drinks are good and it didn't disappoint. You can really taste the liquor which is great for the price. I got the Mango curry, and my sister got the shrimp curry meal both were equally amazing π€© Service was great as well. No happy hour specials but will definitely be coming back!
Ordered the gluten free chicken dumplings and Thai basil fried rice. The dumplings were a bit doughy but I was blown away by how accommodating the gluten free options were :)! The fried rice was absolutely delicious and they were able to make it not spicy! Portion size for the rice was great too!
Beautiful food, place and people, it was my first time there, for mother's day. Never have eaten this type of food, but I will say it was exquisite ,flavorful, and exciting, who knew food could be so beautiful. The atmosphere was clean friendly, the customer service very attentive, I recommend them totally, I will be going back to try some other dishes...
I've driven by this place for years and the outside no way reflects the interior. Such a modern and open space that just elevates the experience. Food was excellent. The beef chow fun (ho fun) is one of the best in CT. Sesame chicken was ij bite-sized pieces and the dumplings tasted home made (comfort food for sure). We also got one of the special rolls but that was eaten before I could snap a picture.
The 2 items that were good but not quite great was the duck; skin was so crisp but the meat under was shredded and was expecting more slices, and the asparagus hand roll; most places have a mayonnaise type sauce with it and fish flakes but this was just asparagus in a hand roll.
Other than that definitely will be back.
First time here and we found a very friendly staff, super fresh and great quality food and priced right! We also met the owner Chris and thanked him for all of this coming together for a super experience. Can't wait to return! Crabmeat Rangoons were made there and so delicious. The Pad Thai with Chicken and the Orange Chicken were over the top---thank you for a wonderful experience!!
Great food, nice folks.
Great sushimi
Ordered takeout last night. Got shrimp pad thai. Its like general saoβs in rice noodles. Also had tofu in it with lemons. So gross and super spicy. Sorry excuse for pad thai. Not even close.
Ordered the gluten free chicken dumplings and Thai basil fried rice. The dumplings were a bit doughy but I was blown away by how accommodating the gluten free options were :)! The fried rice was absolutely delicious and they were able to make it not spicy! Portion size for the rice was great too!
First time at Windsor Asian Bistro and it was amazing. I regret not taking pictures of the food, it was just too good to stop and take pictures. I will definitely be back since my kids also had an enjoyable experience.
The food is good and our waitress was great.
Good food.
Love this place, had a chicken Pat thai and so far this is the only where the pat thai wasn't dried out. Will definitely come back here again
Really good sushi. I loved the mozzarella roll. If I lived in Connecticut I would definitely come often lol
It's your classic sushi restaurant. Convenient to I-91 and some nearby hotels. Tucked away in the corner of a small plaza. Parking was a cinch at 8 pm.
I like this place. The sushi sashimi platter is my favorite dish.
Lovely staff, fast and friendly service. The dumplings are delicious as is the tempura.
The shrimp lo Mein terrible. Overcooked noodles, maybe three shrimp, could not eat much of it. Wonton soup fair.
Correction ..This place was good. I had the chicken, egg roll and Teriyaki beef and pork rice was very good. I can't comment on the rest of the food but the group of ladies I was with enjoyed their lunch as well.
I ordered lunch and ordered peanut sauce on the side. Nope. They didn't put it in the bag. However, the pad thai was pretty good.
I didn't like it. It didn't seem fresh. I'm from Indiana. I get better sushi there. I wouldn't recommend it.
Update:
I did go back when in town. It must have been an off night. The food this time was great.
Just moved to town and have been trying out the local cuisine. This place quickly became our favorite for Asian cuisine! Delicious food, generous portions, and great service.
Susan, the manager, went above and beyond after we returned our plate (it was delicious just the texture was off). It was nice to see a owner so involved and really care about customer satisfaction π pork pad thai and shrimp (big shrimp) coconut curry was delicious!
One of the best places to get pineapple fried rice with tofu amongst many other delicious dishes.
Food and service is always excellent.
Food and service are great! We had sushi that was excellent! The server was friendly and provided great service!
Delicious food.. some dishes are better than others
Hands down the best ginger chicken Iβve ever had - every bite had plenty of ginger, with occasional extra bursts that made me audibly exclaim - great staff, full bar with anything you could want & great specialty drinks as well
This place is awesome. Sushi is always tremendous and you are never kept waiting or wantihg for a anything.
Naming a restaurant "Asian" is like calling it "North and South American", but the Windsor Asian Bistro offers a large selection of what are known in this country as Japanese, Chinese and Thai dishes. We ordered a Salmon Teriyaki plate, misoshiru, scallops, California rolls, hot-and-sour soup and an avocado and roe salad. All were well prepared and presented, and not over-salted. Our server was helpful and polite. The place wasn't too busy for Monday lunch, and the room was not noisy. We will be back.
The food was good. I do feel like it was on the expensive side. The sushi pizza was $19 and on the smaller side for the money. Overall, it was a good experience though.
I personally would never go there again. The food isnβt bad, but the service is absolutely horrible. The waitresses are incredibly rude and unfriendly
Easily made sure customers were satisfied
Was so pleasantly surprised. What a great Asian restaurant. Will be back.
BEST Asian food Iβve had in CT yet!
Lovely ambience, great food and service. Nice decor and discreet staff
I like the place and will be back
Nice Asian restaurant, and the food was delicious. With their mango sauce.
Food and service was on point. Chinese comfort food, great sushi and tasty cocktails. The noodles came out perfect and flavorful.
Our first time coming here. We will definitely be back! Loved the different sushi rolls!
Great sushi but pricey.
Cute location with an extensive Asian menu from Thai to Japanese to Chinese everything from sushi to ramen to stir frys. We had appetizers, both of the pancakes and spare ribs . The spare ribs were possibly some of the best I've ever had! The pancakes were delicious, the Indian inspired one was a little too greasy for my taste, but still tasted delicious. The Korean one was cooked more crispy and less oily and I thought it was amazing too. Both sauces were really good. We also had sake and a couple of cocktails, which were both really really good! Had I been in a drinking mood I prob would've had more. And they were very reasonably priced. The only thing we tried which we didn't really like was this fire sushi roll which we actually saw here on Google reviews. It ended up being an unpleasant texture and scent. We had one bite and told the waitress we were sorry but didn't like the taste but she didn't take it off. I guess that's fair π€·π»ββοΈ lol.
But otherwise than that little bump, the service was impeccable. They were very friendly and inviting. We sat towards the end of service about 45min before close and they were super nice. We were trying to rush through the meal but they kept telling us to relax and encouraged us to get dessert which was also really yummy. We had a great meal and I recommend stopping in on the way to or out of airport area.
Very accommodating, just wish they could adjust their meals slightly to meet some requests
Very mild spices and the noodles were kinda sweet.
The food and service here is really phenomenal. You can tell they spend extra money on higher quality ingredients, especially the vegetables. They were very conducive toward food allergies, and I didnβt feel like I was a burden asking them to be careful, which was really appreciated. My meals have had great portions, although a little under salted for my taste. Easy to fix with some soy sauce or a sprinkle of salt. I really recommend this place!
First time to eat here the food and service is amazing. Very friendly and accommodating service. In the top 5 of all Asian restaurants I have eaten at. I will be back.
The young girl working at the front desk Sunday, May 19, 2024 about 2:15pm should not be working at the front desk. Iβve been patronizing this business for years and I generally get great service minus the fact they are always stingy with ginger. This young lady is rude and condescending with a nasty disposition. It is never okay to speaks poorly nor snatch anything from a customer who is being pleasant and respectful.
The worst fried rice Iβve ever tasted. It was rushed and the meat wasnβt fully cooked. Rice was over cooked. one kind of beans and they were hard. Will not be visiting again.
Update:
After providing feedback on my initial experience, I'm pleased to share that the restaurant has taken proactive steps to rectify the situation. The customer service was exemplary, demonstrating a commitment to addressing concerns and improving the overall dining experience. I appreciate their responsiveness and willingness to make things right. Thank you.
Pretty good.
Stopped here on the way to pick someone up at the airport and loved it. The restaurant itself is very clean and offers a mix of indoor dining as well as outdoor seating for the warmer months. The service was quick and personable, and the food was amazing. I will definitely be back when in the area and would highly recommend checking this place out
The food is not great here but there arenβt a lot of good Asian restaurants in the area so youβre kind of stuck here.
One of the best sushi places I've been to and the staff is always sooo nice and accommodating!!!
The 20% service charge (tip) was added directly to the bill, which resulted in the tip also being taxed. The service was not good, and no one responded to the tissues I asked for several times.
food wasn't good boneless ribs all fat chicken wing were lousy. General chicken was nasty the egg role
Itβs me and my daughterβs first time in this restaurant. The fire sushi was her favorite part and also our favorite roll. We saw a video on google review and asked our server about it. presentation and the food was good. So far everything was good including service. Our Server was very polite and friendly. Weβll have to come back with the rest of our family.
Music isnβt loud, loved that. The food was outstanding and the service was polite and efficient. The sushi was fine, but not the best. The tom kaw and the steak hibachi were amazing.
Order through Uber eats. Second time in a row Iβve asked for soy sauce and utensils multiple places in the app and not gotten it.
We started off with a very nice and friendly waitress that brought us some amazing drinks. We ordered sushi, a pu pu platter, and some pork fried rice. We were all stunned at the amazing quality of the food and how quickly we were served. The food was absolutely delicious, and we can't wait to go back again. We haven't had Chinese food this good, since I was a kid. This family owned business is definitely a hidden gem you should try out.
A little salty. But over all very good
We absolutely unexpectedly discovered this wonderful place with Asian cuisine. Everything was very tasty. The service is very good. I will definitely come here again and recommend it to my friends.
We ordered food for our office event for 300 associates. We ordered spring rolls, chicken wings, shrimp dumplings and crab Rangoon. Food was so good , everyone likes it . They also gave us 10% discount and sent us utensils, napkins everything we need to serve the food. They are very nice people. As our office is also in Windsor so delivery was free too.
I LOVE this place tucked into the little plaza!! So many choices for food! No matter what you choose, you will be in heaven! Food is so tasty and the presentation was beautiful!! I also had the plum wine which was refreshing! Staff and atmosphere was wonderfule!
Great sushi but the waitress stopped me and my friend as we were leaving to haggle us for a tip. I understand servers are underpaid but if someone doesn't tip shaking them down at the exit is not the answer.
The food was good but too spicy for my taste.
Plaza from the outside does not do this place justice. Their special martinis are insanely perfect. And every roll I get I say βthis is the best Iβve ever hadβ and I mean it!!
Some of the best Asian food in the area!
Food is always delicious, always my go to when indecisive
I thought it was a great spot. Value is where they lost a star. Food wasn't bad, but the sushi rolls were noticeably smaller than many other sushi places I've been to. Again, the rolls were simple and plain but good. I had four to base my opinion. The three roll Maki something meal and the Spicy Girl specialty roll.
I was interested in the Windsor Box, but I've never seen General Tsos made with carrots and bell peppers. That looked like a good combo of sushi, Chinese, sashimi, etc.
Great foods
Food was awesome and so was the service. Unbelievably good sushi.
One hidden gem for any prospective LC parents
Food is great. I visit here every time I'm in town
Busy and noisy
My husband and I ate dinner at the bar. The bartender is always cheerful and accommodating and is a pleasure to converse with! The food is consistently amazing and the whole staff are warm and inviting! We plan to frequent Windsor Asian Bistro regularly! P.S. The Godzilla Roll is delish!
I ordered online and went to pick up and noticed they entered my meal in wrong and mixed up one of my rolls when I went to pick up my to go order last night. I mentioned this when I saw the bag. Then when they fixed my order they brought out the same bag and the rest of the food that was correct the spring rolls were cold, and the food they remade the shrimp tempura, the shrimp was soggy and gross. Itβs expensive so I paid 26$ for a meal that was really just disappointing. Pretty upsetting and it made the day I was having even worse.
Really enjoyed the food hear sushi is very good and our server was very very nice
Omg! Best sushi and cocktails Iβve had in a long long time!!
Penny, our server was so friendly and a pleasure!! The oyster shooters made my husband so happy! A culinary gemβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Great food, great service
Lively atmosphere.
Food was good . Found expensive.
By far the worst hibachi we have ever had. A group of 6 of us and not one of us ate our food. The noodles were actual plain spaghetti and overcooked. Veggies were not cooked at all. No sauce or seasoning on anything. Chicken and salmon tasted like gas. The waitress collected full plates and did not even ask if anything was wrong or offer for us to order something different. Would not come back.
When I say this place is great I mean that coming from someone whoβs eaten Asian food across this country and a lot in SF, LA, and NY. They use really good ingredients - make delicious fresh sushi - and the service is friendly. The bartender helped us with our order and clearly has regulars who love him. The pad Thai and drunken noodle was some of the best Iβve had. They use tamarind (the proper way) and you can taste the hit of sour in the pad Thai. Delicious! Canβt say enough about our quick meal on the way to catch a flight. They also expedited our meal and we got in and out in 30 mins.
It is a nice place, feels upscale. I was not impressed with the maki combo but spicy sushi rolls were very good. Drunken noodle was also pretty tasty.
Nice place to meet up with friends.
This is place is awesome. You can order out or eat in and itβs a great restaurant atmosphere.
My favorite friday spot love the fool it is awesome.
Great food and service
We frequently come to visit family in CT and always make a stop in here! The pineapple fried rice is delicious! And the service is always great. Highly recommend.
I ordered delivery and the food came very well packaged! Generous portions :) which I'm happy about bc it was delicious.
We ordered pad Thai, pad kee mao (drunken noodles), general tso chicken and Szechuan chicken. All really good choices!
The pad Thai was my personal favorite. I did add some fish sauce and spice. Otherwise, it was great as is.
The Szechuan chicken was just ever so slightly seasoned with Szechuan peppercorns. I could have handled a bit more but it was overall a tasteful amount. I think next time I'll ask for a little extra spice. The flavor was excellent and the sauce was really light, flavorful with fresh vegetables.
The general tso chicken was my husband's favorite! We loved that it was crispy with enough sauce. Not too sweet. Very flavorful.
I'd order these three again for sure. We enjoyed the delivery and hope to visit in person soon.
Wide menu of options but the quality does not suffer at all
Great place to grab delicious local Chinese food. Wonderful staff and a welcoming atmosphere.
Such good noodle dishes. Great atmosphere, makes me feel like I'm in an expensive fancy place every time. Gluten free dishes and soy sauce are available and don't make my family and I sick. There is a small outdoor area to eat in, but I've only sat inside before. There is also a full bar.
Always good and constant. No complaints at all.
All of the food looked and tasted amazing!
Everything was excellent
Wish I had pictures to show how amazing the food looked but ate it right away because it was too good!! Amazing and quick service, she was so attentive. House salad, evergreen roll, and Thai basil tofu were all 10/10s. Great spot if you have a flight to catch. Will be back soon!
Came from out of state on a business trip and this sushi is top notch. The pricing is pretty average for a good sushi restaurant. I would definitely recommend visiting. You have to try the Hartford Roll - amazing!
Fell in love with the Tom Yum soup!!!! Plentiful and delicious!!
It's surprisingly good. A rare find. I had the sushi/sashimi combo, and it
Was very nice .
Good food. Okay service
All of the food tasted good and fresh. Prices were decent.
I don't know that it's fair to review a location but I've never eaten in only based on a delivery experience I have to warn you though if you're considering a Uber or GrubHub delivery from here I found the value price to food not acceptable quality of the food was okay but again lot of that could be due to the fact of delivery implications
Four of us went to dinner last Sunday night. We all enjoyed our dinner and our server was great! Three had sushi, and I had the sea bass with vegetables. It was an enjoyable evening for all.
Was given a gift card so had no clue. I was shocked at the many choices of gluten free well marked on menu. So I had the fried calamari and the pepper tuna salad. Both were incredible. Wait staff was both friendly and attentive. I will be back to try more of the gluten free offerings. Maybe the drunken noodle.
Edit: I usually have great sushi. A few months ago I noted (as always) on the online order not to put crunch in the sushi as I have a wheat intolerance. When I received my sushi it had crunch in it. I had to go back and get a new one made.
Great sushi! My only complaint is there have been errors with my order several times where I was given soup instead of the salad I ordered.
We order the hibachi chicken which is cooked in their kitchen not in front of you. As we were waiting for our meal the table next to us also ordered the same thing but as they began to eat it they had a complaint about the chicken. We didnβt think anything of it as people have different taste and preferences. When our food arrived we too had an issue with our chicken. Mine was hard and very dry and my daughterβs was very rubbery. We could not eat it. The manager and waitress were very apologetic about it and stated that it could be an issue with the vendor that they purchase the chicken from. He discounted our bill by 20%. A few hours later I had a sever upset stomach and was not well. The table next to us who had the initial complaint about the chicken did say that she and her husband and child go their frequently and she always orders the same thing and she has never had this problem like tonight so it was be a vendor issue. I wish I didnβt order the hibachi chicken and they should have provided a greater discount since it happened to three different people that orders the same dish.
If thereβs a choice, I would not pick any star. We came in 3 adults and one kid. We ordered some appetizers and sashimi. We got 6 uni sushi and 3 orders of Ika(squid) sashimi. The Uni was ok. But the squid was not fresh and fishy. The server came asked if everything was ok when she was cleaning up the dishes. We told her the squid was very bad and fishy. She smiled and left, not saying anything, not even an apology. I was upset about it. When the bill came out, we have a total of $271. So I asked her to remove the squid from the bill. She said she would talk to manager. Weβve been hanging there for few minutes. Nobody came to handle it. We were in a rush, we needed to leave. Then she came out from the kitchen, got the squid removed. It was a bad experience. I never see any manger or any apologies. If you set up you business in a certain class, we would expect some better customer service. Overall the service didnβt worth $36 at all. But we still tipped. Guys, if I were you, I would reconsider coming or not.
Fresh fresh. Ordered sushi for 2, uni and toro. Rock shrimp was good but could be crispier. Service was attentive. Prices are fair.
The food here is really good. The only thing I didn't like was the orange chicken, for the price it was less than average for me. Like I said, the food here is great but they are really expensive.
FOOD
Very accommodating to vegan / vegetarian & making dishes w less salt! Tasty!
SERVICE
The service here is better than most Chinese restaurants!!!
Host - young Asian girl, very courteous and welcoming and attentive.
Server - Older Chinese lady named Annie was lovely! Smiled genuinely and remembered my order accurately along w all my accommodation requests!
Worker environment seems quite happy and working well together.
Efficient! Food didn't take long yet it was cooked well!
Didn't feel rushed either.
AMBIANCE
Perfect temperature - didn't feel like I was in an ice box with overwhelming AC like some restaurants!
Lights slightly dimmed so my eyes light sensitivity wasn't triggered. Very comfortable, no problems reading the menu w old person eyes. Having no obnoxious bright lights was great.
Easy going music in background, not loud, thank goodness.
MY BACKGROUND
East Asian.
Lots of experience working in restaurants in my younger adult life
This is my first time eating Chinese-American food in New England... Is service usually this good here?!
I'll definitely be coming back & recommending this restaurant.
The quality of delivered food is inconsistent. Products vary. Hit or miss. Sometimes good.
Excellent food and fairly priced. Nice atmosphere when dining in. Itβs our go to Asian food place.
I've driven by this place for years and the outside no way reflects the interior. Such a modern and open space that just elevates the experience. Food was excellent. Food is very good, service is great and the staff is wonderful π.
Food was good. Staff was attentive. Was able to accommodate a large group.
Great food and service
Their spicy tuna rolls and spicy mayo are a must! Really friendly owners and staff who make you feel welcome. Great place to grab drinks, dine in, or for ordering takeout! My go-to for Asian cuisine!
