All around a wonderful first time experience here. We started with the spring rolls which were perfectly done, flaky and crispy. Main courses included the Spicy Noodles with Chicken as seen in the photo, and the other two not pictured were the coconut noodles with chicken and drunken noodles with chicken - each one wonderful in their own way. The Spicy Noodles was my favorite. Atmosphere was chill and pleasantly decorated. Staff was friendly, quick, and checked in frequently. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, give it a try!!!

I love this place! Found it by accident, just was riding by and stopped in! Been a FAITHFUL customer ever since!(2+ years) I have recommended countless friends coworkers and family to try them out and NONE have been disappointed! I am on a mission to check off every item on the menu and have loved everything I’ve tried! I have about 12 items left to try and recommend it All!

Worst experience ever . Placed an order and headed to the restaurant to pick it up. Upon entering the restaurant no one greeted me or asked if I needed help with anything . Every customer after me was spoken to and helped . I finally asked the manager why haven’t I been served and others have been served already . The manager was very dismissive and didn’t care . She didnt once say sorry or any kind words for that matter .

Fantastic experience! Giant portions. Friendly service and amazing food. Parking is the only negative i can think of mentioning. Highly recommended

All the food is very good, the service is very good. Everything is very nice. Everyone should give this restaurant a chance and try the food.

First time I went I tried the drunken noodles and was obsessed. Despite the dish being spicy for me I ate every bite with appreciation and pleasure. The second time I got take out and was further into my low carb journey so I got the keto fried rice. I was sad I couldn't have the drunken noodles again but after trying their fried rice was instantly happy and again so appreciative of the depths of flavours. Delicious, well portioned, great spot to sit down and eat or order on the go when you don't feel like cooking.

My husband and I I were in need of a break from moving. So we took a drive along the Thames. We saw pizza, yeah. We saw sandwiches, yeah. But then this little hole in the wall and it glowed like heaven, WE FOUND THAI! We were so happy and it was cool inside, quiet and warm welcome. The food selection was topped by the chef ability to make my husband, Mr Foodie ready to bow to the chef as not worthy of such amazing food! I am less dramatic but hands down the best sweet and sour I have ever had! I am not a spicy person so Chicken Satey and Pineapple fried rice are my go to choices! I have had other things since then and they reduced the heat for me and it was awesome! You will never be sorry you went here. Please enjoy!

Let me start with I AM SUPER PICKY.... However, what a hidden gem in Norwich. The food was fresh and flavorful. My daughter had boba tea that was very good.

Food was very decent, my girlfriend got coconut noodles and it had a weird taste, food was and looked very unappetizing. I added shrimp to my drunken noodles and the tails were still on ALL of them… what kind of place does that?

Also, the interior of the restaurant looked like a playa bowl place, very strange decor overall…

First time here, just moved to the area. I ordered takeout & got the massaman curry lunch & for only $13 it’s so worth it! So flavorful. We will definitely be back. Also the thai bubble fruit tea is amazing & so many different combos you can choose from!

I love this place ! Tom yum gongs my favorite and crab ragoons ! Had a melon and green apple popping bubbles tea so delicious last time we went. It's my favorite place when we get tired of the same old thing for take out.

I really wanted to leave a nice review but was really disappointed by my first trip to their new location, which used to be a Mexican joint. First off, Thai by Thai's old location used to serve amazing food every time I went. Their crab rangoons, pad thai, basil fry, rice, noodles, everything was good. So, I was really confused by the food I was served this time.

I ordered chicken satay for $10, and what came out shocked me. The chicken was flat, dry, and only had about 1 oz of chicken meat in a pressed square, comically placed on the end of each stick. I think we only got a total of 3 oz of chicken. We ordered the Thai duck, a pricey dish. The duck came out swimming in Tamarind sauce, which wasn't bad, but the off-putting part was that for some reason there was lettuce all in the sauce, so the lettuce was drenched, wilted, disgusting. That was the whole dish: duck, a ton of wilted salad, and sauce.

I ordered beef basil stir fry. The beef was horribly dry, the sauce was watery, the vegetables were bland. This will be my last trip to Thai by Thai. I even asked if they were new owners, and they weren't. It's been a year since my last trip and the quality has gone really down hill. I hope you return your food to its prior state or you won't last.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend.
And we were not disappointed. I’m a Norwich native and all we really have here are pizzerias, grinder shops and chain restaurants. So it’s really awesome to have something new and different open up.
I ordered the massaman curry chicken lunch.
It came with a green salad and choice of 3 different appetizers.
I chose the veggie dumplings and they were absolutely amazing.
As for the massaman curry chicken, it was flavourful and delicious.
Also the perfect amount for lunch.
My friend had the drunken noodle and he loved his meal as well.
The service was outstanding, friendly and attentive.
I’ll definitely be back to try the other offerings on their menu, and I’ll definitely recommend to friends and family :)

This place still rocks, always good, always consistent and I’m definitely now a regular!

While the parking for this place is nonexistent, the food and service was fantastic. We got the drunken noodles and some bubble teas and loved every bite!

I don't know how this place is getting such a high rating. Not impressed at all. Worst pad thai I have ever had. Don't think the crab Rangoon had any crab in it. Seemed like a huge/gross amount of cream cheese. The shell was the only decent part. The chicken in the pad Thai was terrible. Wish I didn't drive as far as I did to try this place. I will not be back! 🤮🤮🤮 If I could have given less than one star I would have... apparently Norwich folks wouldn't know good Thai food if it bit them in the face. 😂

Came in at 245 and was denied the 11 to 3 lunch special said it was too close to the time. Great business you run when u have a full family and then won’t serve them the special of kids weren’t starving I would have left right there. Great way to keep customers happy won’t be back.

Great food, great service at a good price

We’ve ordered take several times from this location and it’s always a decent meal. Recently we saw several reviews about the Thai wings and Crab Rangoons and gave them a try. The wings smelled wonderful and were cooked well, unfortunately being take out they became soggy after sitting in the sauce of the container. The rangoons had way too much cream cheese and the sauce was too runny to stay on the wontons. I would try the wings again if ever dining in. We ordered Chicken Satay for the kids and it was cooked well, not overly seasoned and the peanut sauce had a nice taste. Lastly was the green curry, a large serving, heavy on vegetables and was a little in the saucy side. This was our least favorite experience of the 3-4 times we’ve been over the last year. Still overall a good experience, the food it priced well considering the recent inflation and the serving sizes are generous.

Their Thai Nachos could possibly be my "if you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life" meal.

Things fall short though with the crab rangoon, which had almost no crab - i actually don't even know if it had any... I couldn't detect any meat in it. Just a ton of over stuffed cream cheese wontons.

Delicious food every time and great vegan options! The veggie dumplings, tofu triangles, and a few other apps are vegan as is, and all the curries can be made vegan. I order from here regularly and the food is consistently flavorful and impressive. The service is also great, they’re very nice and knowledgeable about vegan options.

Absolutely love the food! I have not tried anything I found disappointing. Thai nachos were a greasy mess but the flavor was fantastic and I'm sure they'd be spectacular after a few too many beers. Also their new location is way closer to my house so that's going to be a challenge for my willpower.

Two strikes and I'm out. I tried the pad Thai when they first opened. It was meh. Bland. Not horrible, but not very good. Last week, I gave them a second try. Thai nachos were strange. I liked the crisp chips, but the dish was drowning in a mayo sauce. The salad I got had a crazy amount of fried chicken bit swimming in a acidic, spicy sauce (I like spice) and virtually no greens. It stunk up my car. It was hardly a salad as it had less greens than I would expect from a garnish. It's too bad. Norwich would benefit from some decent Thai food. I did also get an order of chicken satay, which was OK. It came with a tasty peanut sauce.

I ordered takeout from here for the first time this weekend. I ordered pad Thai and papaya salad, and both were delicious. I put the leftovers in the fridge and pulled them out early this week to eat for lunch. At the bottom of the papaya salad was a sharpie cap. While I enjoyed the food, I’m horrified that I ate almost a full dish that had a sharpie cap soaking in it. Who knows how many people touched the cap?! Ugh. I submitted a complaint to both the restaurant and Uber Eats and both ignored me.

Have been looking for a good local Thai place, and this did not disappoint! The food was excellent and I will definitely be returning.

I went early on a Sunday, and my family and I enjoyed the restaurant to ourselves! Service was friendly and on point. Food was a great bang for your buck. Can't come up with any complaints. Driving through the state and decided to stop here. Ordered the coconut noodles and it was quite salty, tom kar gai felt like flavorless coconut milk (and for the $12 it cost...should have been $6) spicy eggplant was salty, didn't taste anything else but salt. Also, expected the eggplant to be a bit softer because the skin texture was quite chewy. The hot, basil fried rice though was amazing! Definitely wish I would have ordered another one of those instead of trying the two other dishes. Also I was happy with the portion size with all the meals as well. The Thai iced tea with just slightly a bit less condensed milk would have been better, but I just ended adding a little more milk and enjoyed that was well. I threw away 3 out of the 4 dishes sadly, so it was a sad waste of $70. You win some, you lose some.

My friend and I shared a green papaya salad, tilapia green curry, and pad Thai with tofu. For dessert we shared Mango sweet rice. Everything was excellent but the tilapia was Outstanding! It is one of the best fish dishes I have had anywhere, ever. It was the best tasting tilapia I’ve had—fried crispy but without batter, set in a delicious green curry coconut sauce. The pad Thai was too sweet for my taste but was beautifully presented. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant. The location is….not the greatest. From the outside driving past it’s hard to believe anything is actually open there. You can see a giant abandoned factory in the background. But it is safe enough with parking in the back. Hopefully they do well, and find a better location down the line.

Thai by Thai catered our wedding and it turned out wonderfully. We provided our own wait staff and chafing dishes, but they delivered everything on time and our guests only had wonderful things to say about the food. They accommodated the food allergies and had things clearly labeled. We had people say it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We ordered: tamarind duck, garlic stir fried veggies, yellow curry, fried rice and pad woon sen.

This is a local hidden gem if you are an adventurous eater. Parking is behind the building. Nothing fancy. It’s all about the food. It has a bar when you walk in and the restaurant part is separated to the right. Typical Thai restaurant menu. Food is delicious with friendly, attentive, and thoughtful service since I have my family there. Portion is about right and it really depends what you order. I will definitely going back if I am in the area again. Recommend lunch combination (add choice of protein), chicken satay, Penang curry and Thai bubble tea.

Went about a yr ago for the first time w the hubby. We loved it! The food was amazing. But, we never got a chance to go back. Read online a few months ago about a car being hitninto the building and both of us were instantly heart broken, but then thrilled to learn the owner pushed thru and remained open. Well. Yesterday (May 26 2023) we went for an early dinner. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! we got papaya salad, noodle dish w crab stick and cashew stirfry (my fave!) As we are eating, the owner (YaYa?) Said "you guys came last yr. I remember, you guys sat right there, the same!" The food was amazing, hospitality wonderful, and a place that the owner truly tastes EVERYTHING and is proud of her work. Everything we've had so far, is fresh tasty and hits all the cravings. A def recommend! I wish all the luck for this business bc it's well deserved!

The lunch special was a great value, drunken noodles were nice and spicy which complimented a rather warm December day. Masaman curry was delicious, full of coconut milk and spices. Thai iced coffee was equally great, packing just the right kick needed after a filling lunch. Next time we'll need to try the mango sticky rice.

Stopped here on a long drive home and were leery by it’s outward appearance but are so glad we gave it a chance! Our server was attentive and sweet, food came out quick and was phenomenal (highly recommend the pad thai and drunken noodles). Portion sizes were large and prices very fair. Would go back if we are in the area again!

Very good food, I’m glad I found this place. You would definitely drive by it and never notice it. The server was very nice and the food was fast. Serving sizes are large, so there were lots of leftovers.

Excellent food! One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. Everyone absolutely loved their meals. It's hard to say which on was best. Green curry, hot basil fried rice,sweet and sour pork, Thai fried chicken, or drunken noodle. The prices were very good too. We were a little unsure at first after pulling up to the building but we were definitely glad we ate there.

Low key restaurant in Norwich near by Mohegan sun. Very hospitable and friendly people. Food is delicious as well.

Just tried this place for the first time. It's really hard to find REALLY good Thai food. But this place hit's the nail on the head. It was SO good. I highly recommend.

Do not be put off by the exterior of this restaurant — it is well worth your time! Easily the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Such a hidden gem! Do not miss eating at this spot. The green curry is particularly delicious. I will be back!

Looks like a old house from the outside but is clean on the inside. Good food serviced by courteous staff.

Can I give a sixth star, please? I need to work my way through the menu. Today's picks were Chicken Pad See Ew and the chicken and shrimp dumplings. Fast service, and perfect quality.

This is some of the best Thai food I’ve had, and I’ve eaten Thai food in many different places for my whole life. We ordered Maasman curry, the cashew stir fry, pineapple fried rice, and chicken satay. They were all AMAZING. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the sticky rice, a little too tough, but I’d be willing to try it again—maybe it was just an off night. The atmosphere has gotten better since it opened, they’ve painted and added booth seating. I HIGHLY recommend this place and I would love to see it succeed here.

Best Thai food we've had here!

I always like to try a restaurant more than once to make sure my first impression is correct, and after today I am confident in recommending Love Thai by Thai. Myself and a few coworkers have gotten lunch here a couple times now and it is delicious! The lunch combination is a great price, has very generous portions, and includes enough options for anyone to pick what they like. Also I love that when I ask for mine very spicy they actually make it spicy! This will definitely be a regular spot for takeout Fridays at work from now on.

The food is outstanding. I've yet to try anything from the menu that I did not like. One of my favorites is the Basil Pad Krapraw with beef. I orderer it 2 days in a row one week. Convinced myself to get the drunken noodles today instead but no regrets because they were delicious! I can't do too much spice and they make it perfectly for me every time where it just warms my mouth. Ugh! Can't say enough about this place. A must try!
