Easygoing eatery offering an extensive menu of both Thai & Japanese specialties.
Good food. Great options. Decent prices. Went with a group of 7 without a reservation. We were seated without having to wait. Chili sauce and chopsticks are available upon request. Serve both coke and pepsi as well as alcoholic beverages. The waitress was able to have us on separate checks. There is a separate dessert menu.
I ordered the jumbo shrimp, yellow curry. The food looks like somebody threw up on the plate. It looked terrible and it tasted terrible. I Couldn’t looking at it or eat it. I told him I couldn’t eat it. They took the food away. Didn’t bring me a mini to order something else. I was sitting there for 10 minutes and then he came and asked me at that point I lost interest to eat anything at the restaurant. When they say electric dishes, gonna be dry, didn’t expect any liquid in that dish. As you can see in the dish, tell me if it’s dry. But I asked him about it. They were rude. They were getting loud in front of the customers.
I was visiting friends in the area who recommended we stop here for drinks. The drinks and food were excellent. The presentation of everything was stellar, including edible flowers and other unique items. Our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. She made several excellent suggestions on different types of liquors. The atmosphere was peaceful, which was enhanced by the beautiful oriental decorations at this restaurant. I highly recommend it, and when I'm in the area, I will stop in again.
A friend and I ate here around 6 pm for dinner. The food was okay but not particularly flavorful. The service was frustrating. They repeatedly asked if we were ready to order with very little time between promptings to look at the menu and char and it felt like they cared more about serving us and getting us out of there as quickly as possible than offering a pleasant dining experience. I don't plan on returning.
THE FOOD HERE IS NOT GOOD!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Don’t let the pictures fool you. I’m just a good photographer!😂
There were 6 of us. Out of six dishes only two were good - Ramen Kee Pow and Shrimp Fried Rice.
Coconut Soup with Tofu had a good taste but the mushrooms were rubber. I thought it was chicken fat at first and then realized it was a mushroom.
The Teriyaki Chicken was so SALTY! We couldn’t finish eating it once the rice was gone. And the rice portions are small! Wasted a lot of food here.
The Crispy Pork was way past crispy. It was like chewing rocks.
The Volcano Shrimp was so chewy. Like chewing “ABC” gum (Already Been Chewed)from under the bleachers at school.
We ordered another dish of chicken fried rice just so we wouldn’t starve.
We told our server our concerns and she did nothing. Received a bill of $157 for inedible food. We were so ready to get out of there and get some real food!
Big waste of money and food!
Came here for lunch with a coworker. First impression on atmosphere: slightly outdated but relaxing and clean overall. Seated promptly. Menu is extensive for both Thai and Japanese. I've been reluctant to try this place as I've read very mixed reviews, particularly on the Pad Thai. We got free miso soup as a starter. The tofu portion was large but the soup tasted weird to me. Not enough umami miso flavor. Not bad necessarily, but not great.
We ordered the curry puff as a starter. The puff pastry and cucumber chutney were very good but the filing was underwhelming. Not much curry flavor.
I got the lunch size eggplant pad with beef. I liked the portion for the price but honestly it was very bland. Bad bland. Not seasoned, sitting in a brothy soup that was unappealing. My eggplant was mush. I can see why there are mixed reviews on this place. A woman sitting in the booth behind us ordered the Pad Thai. Once her waitress left I heard her comment to her lunch companion that it smelled like wet dog. Sure, fish sauce has a funk to it but I've never thought Pad Thai smelled like wet dog. That'll be a permanent pass for me from here.
My coworker ordered the amazing sauce lunch with duck. He said he enjoyed it.
The star of our lunch was surprisingly the sushi. We shared the green dragon roll which was huge and very delicious. It really made up for the rest. Overall I'd eat the Japanese side of the menu if I came here again. I'll pass on the Thai.
I ordered pho soup which I love but hard to find a good one. I used to like the way they make it but it must of change broth is not brown anymore it’s more like red and very very greasy menu says comes with meatballs as well but there was no meatballs in it and very few sprouts which I love the most. Also every other place serves some kind of sauce with it but there was no sauce on the side tomatoes that they put on were almost white! We order from you guys ones a week sometimes twice and this is the first time I’m writing a review because very disappointed!
Food is ok. Nothing stands out. Also the heat level of food is inconsistent. The biggest grip would be a glass of house wine is 11:00 bucks! Sushi prices are also on the high side
One of my local favorites. First place I tried when I moved here and a frequent stop for us now. A+ food and service
Good food. Great options. Decent prices. Went with a group of 7 without a reservation. We were seated without having to wait. Chili sauce and chopsticks are available upon request. We go during lunch time ,
Great prices, food is delicious, service is fast and efficient,
The chicken satay is the best !
The bubble iced coffee amazing yum 😋
The food was amazing, serves were great! I ordered the mango curry spectacular cant rave enough about this gem!!!!
A friend and I ate here around 6 pm for dinner. The food was okay but not particularly flavorful. The service was frustrating. Nice atmosphere. Large menu I tried the Teriyaki chicken. It was okay chicken was dry.
The spring rolls we're great. I will try again looks like they had an extensive Sushi menu
..Food quality is above average for this low budget city of New London
Best sushi in NL
It's one of my faves. The food is great and beautiful. Always quiet enough to have conversation. Good cocktails too.
I never ate thi before, service was good and so is the food
this is my favorite restaurant! it’s so delicious and i’m always so happy to be there.
Service, food and drinks totally awesome. Met the owner fantastic guy if I lived closer I would be there all the time
Still a preferred place for take-out when we're nearby. Their sushi is delicious.
Great place. Enjoyed the Playboy roll and vegetable spring rolls. Spicy sauce was warm seasoning.
It's my favorite restaurant, my husband's as well. I love the sushi and crab Rangoon and the husband loves the curry. We'll switch it up once in a blue moon just to throw off the staff who know us by heart. We eat there too often, we should just have a tab and pay monthly like the rest of the bills. You guys are awesome!
The waitress is rude and unfriendly. The food is not authentic. The atmosphere is stifling and stale.
I think you will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere as well as the great food and service.
Great Thai cuisine at a good value! Curry puff, red curry, shrimp rolls and pad Thai were tasty. Lychee mojito and melon ball drinks are good, but service is slow.
It is always great food!
Brought a friend to dinner on a Thursday. They were fairly busy, but we were seated and greeted quickly. The service was five stars, the food matched the service. We sampled a variety of their dishes (and took a lot home). Highly recommend. We enjoyed from beginning to end.
Really solid Thai in New London. Great service and food, very authentic.
I ordered the jumbo shrimp, yellow curry. The food looks like somebody threw up on the plate. It looked terrible and it tasted terrible. I Couldn’t looking at it or eat it. I told him I couldn’t eat it. They took the food away. Didn’t bring me a mini to order something else. atmosphere was nice server was very nice but the sushi absolutely horrible. I have better sushi at Stop & Shop in big Y then an ordered a chicken teriyaki with the sauce on the side and I don’t know if the chicken was old but it was so dry frozen vegetables just not somewhere I would recommend.
I have gone here many times. It's one of my favorite sushi places, but it can be kinda pricey. I like the indoor outdoor seating options, and it has a fun ambiance. However, during my last visit, I tried to get two plates of sushi to go with a side of dumplings, and we waited over an hour for what is a relatively simple order. Would not recommend take out. Only dine in option.
I enjoy the food, but ordering takeout from this place is ridiculous. I've done it twice and have waited so long just to be acknowledged at the counter. In both instances, the restaurant was empty. Waiting 35 minutes for an order and then an additional 10-15 minutes for service is a little frustrating. What makes it worse is seeing your order sitting on the counter getting cold while you wait to be helped.
I love the food here. Overall great experience and great food. As a vegetarian, the garden rice paper wrap with peanut sauce, as well as the curry dishes have been doing it for me.
I would suggest anybody that visits New London visit this place, they have the best, I mean the best pad Thai in Connecticut.
ITS FOOD
My experience at Thai Jasmine in New London was incredibly disappointing. The pad thai was flavorless and tasted old. The beef and broccoli dish was bland, and the meat was tough and unappetizing. Considering the quality, the prices were unreasonably high. Adding to the unpleasantness, there was a DIRTY DIAPER in the bathroom, which really soured the entire dining experience. I would strongly advise against dining here based on my visit.
We stopped in for dinner. I had a Chicken Satay Salad, my husband had a dragon roll and my son had the salmon basil dish. We enjoyed our food and the portions were much larger than we expected. We will definitely go back.
Very few restaurants open at 8pm on Sunday in this area. Food & service was good…happy they were open
Always very accommodating and great food, we always come in and get avocado rolls and the thai bubble tea! Highly recommend for any vegetarians, lots of options. My non-vegetarian husband loves their food too.
Best Thai food around SE CT.
Excellent choice for Thai and sushi.
Staff was very nice. Food is delicious.
Try the Kimchi wings..... delicious
Usually get takeout, but dining room atmosphere is also very nice. Tasty food served with a smile.
The food was very good, service was excellent. I would say this is in the top 3 Thai restaurants in the area.
Food never arrived. Called and they told me it was out for delivery but nothing.
Great Thai food. Had the massumum curry with the summer rolls and peanut sauce.
Got take out for work it was a 5 person order not too bad at all quick easy down the street and always reliable.
If you're in the mood for Thai food, this will satisfy your craving.
Love everything about this place! I have yet to try something I didn't like on their menu. Everything is sooo good!
Normal
Great Place, lots of parking
Restaurant is well decorated and the tables even have fresh flowers. Service was good and food came out quickly even though we went at an odd time.
The crab rangoon were great but be warned they are different from your regular rangoon. If you only like the typical cream cheese, steer clear.
Beautiful restaurant with attentive staff. I just wish the entrees were as good as the ambiance. I’ve tried multiple items on the menu as I live close by. Skip the sushi all together, seriously! If you don’t know any better, I’m happy for you (not a joke or a shot at people who have never had real sushi). I’ve settled on ordering my favorite peasant dish, Pork Graphao, from here on out. It’s flavorful and hits the spot, even if it’s usually served with an embarrassingly small amount of over watered rice. That’s right…. An Asian spot with weak rice game. Shots fired. Sns
Great food and excellent service. Definitely one our favorite local restaurants!
Food was good service was excellent staff very knowledgeable patient very friendly...
I ordered for take out. Front desk staff needs to keep up with good hygiene if ill (avoid touching nose/mouth, wear a mask, and/or use hand sanitizer). I ordered the chicken basil fried rice. Food was flavorful but unfortunately it had egg shells particles so I have to give it a 1 star for food specifically.
was here this evening for valentine's day and I have to say my wife and I had a PHENOMENAL TIME. from the food which was excellent to the service which was busy due to the day but was great with all things considered... thank you thank you. thank you for a great valentine's day for myself and my wife..!!!!
I love the food here! Me and my husband go almost every Thursday for basically the past THREE YEARS! Staff is amazing (shout out to
Goy) the owner is basically a douche bag! I’ve seen the owner say hi to multiple couples but has never once said hi to us. Tonight I was in the restaurant I was told it was going to be a long wait for togo, which I understand it is Valentine’s Day no problem ( he is always under staffed on days which are to be expected to be busier than normal). I order a drink and an appetizer while I wait. Sushi takes almost an hour no big deal I get it. Couples who come im after me get their sushi first. The phone is ringing off the hook owner never answers, barely helps the staff. Drinking a beer behind the counter. Get home (I knew better, I should have double checked my order) and it’s wrong!! So moral of the story even if you want it to go, order it for there and then ask for a togo box. You will get it faster and you can ensure it is correct.
Despite being there for about 20 years, food, atmosphere and service relatively poor quality. Worst pad Thai ever had. Will not go back.
We were at the restaurant for lunch. The wait staff were cordial and attentive. We ordered from the lunch menu which we found to be reasonably priced. The vegetables were fresh, but the teriyaki beef and salmon were too salty. The Drunken noodles just didn’t have that Thai taste. Overall it was ok.
Excellent, excellent The best Thai restaurant in Connecticut. I don’t want to go into details because I don’t want to make this beautiful place to crowded. And to add after 10 months best sushi. We ordered the love boat unbelievable.
Very good Thai selections and great sushi
Best crab Rangoon I've ever had hands down. My husband and I came here on a busy Friday night and we were both impressed with both how quick the service amd quality of the food was.
There's a great reason that this Restaurant has been around so long and survived COVID- everything about the is excellent. A clean welcoming environment with nice decor to dine in at, fantastic attentive service that is neither pushy nor forgetful in your time there no matter what hour it is, and a large and varied menu that is both phenomenal in its flavor, and consistent in its execution. I've gone here time and time again over the years, and have yet to be let down. Even the water tastes amazing, (which is quite the feat for anyone who has never had tap water in New London)
Their thai food is delicious. Sushi is the best in the area. I usually go for the three sister roll a house salad and crab Rangoon. Highly recommend
I ordered pho soup which I love but hard to find a good one. I used to like the way they make it but it must of change broth is not brown anymore it’s more like red and very very greasy menu says comes with meatballs as well but there was no meatballs in it and very few sprouts which I love the most. We order from you guys ones a week sometimes twice and this is the first time I’m writing a review because very disappointed!
What are the panang curry which in the past has been excellent. On this occasion however, the rice was one gelatinous bound blob with not one single grain of rice in sight. The curry was thin, lacking substance and depth. How disappointing! This has been my favorite haunt for quite a while. However this incident was so bad that I don't think I will ever return.
The best Thai restaurant in the area. We go several times a year for lunch. There are so many delicious choices! We had Pad See Ew (noodles) with chicken and Massamun Curry with shrimp. Last time, I ordered butternut squash curry which was fantastic. We always start with vegetable curry puffs. These are light and delicate with a perfect crunchy crust. The food is delish! And the prices are reasonable.
The only reason I don't give them a 5 star rating is that the staff, while perfectly polite, aren't warm and friendly, and seem a little unhappy and distracted. But maybe that's my own ignorant perception and misunderstanding of Asian culture. Very possible.
Otherwise we love this place!
Ordered take out, totally not worth it!!
Between the wonton soup and the drunken noodles everything was so mushy and the flavor lacked overall.
The wonton soup had a single wonton.
The salmon cashew nut that was supposed to be deep fried was soggy, over cooked and floating in a very thin broth.
The crispy pork was soggy and again floating in a thin broth.
Now I get when you order take out some of the fried things may get a little soft in transport but this was all just mush.
If I had no teeth or tastebuds this place would be great.
Jasmine Thai is a very mixed bag - we've had both great and disappointing food here in the past. I would argue the sushi here is good, but it is very expensive. There are other restaurants in the New London/Groton area that could give you the same or better sushi/portions for a better price, but I digress.
The hot entrees here at Jasmine have been very disappointing - the curry in particular was abysmal and has put me off of ordering any hot items from this restaurant.
The atmosphere is excellent, great décor, and very polite and attentive staff. It's a shame the food and value isn't better.
Excellent service excellent food
I don't know what happened to this restaurant the food and service used to be amazing but what a turn around! Servers are rude and impatient. The food is over cooked, the rice I ordered was mushy and they have been inflating their prices while the quality of the food declines. The sushi I usually order has increased from 15- 18 dollars in a matter of months. Wait times are inconvenient for both pick up and delivery. Definitely looking for a new Thai spot. They value money or food quality these days. Not worth it!!
Some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time, and the staff is so gracious.
Services were great treated with respect and great food
Nice venue and good food

Big waste of money and food!
I've had good experiences with this restaurant that made me ignore the bad ones but at this point I've had so many bad I can't really recommend to anyone. Rolls I ordered yesterday were made with rice that was soggy. Any other restaurant would have thrown the rice out and not dared to use it, but not Jasmine Thai. Soggy sushi rolls are unforgivable.
Delicious food, reasonably priced and very quick service!
decent food...terrible customer service
Satisfying menu, friendly, quick service, nice decorating.
They have Thai food and sushi. The signature dish at most Thai restaurants is pad thai. Theirs was, at best, indifferent. Sushi was okay as well, but nothing worth going back for.
I ordered the mango curry and a shrimp Roll. The mango curry was so good! The sweetness from the mango and the heat from the curry paired really well. I'm not one that likes a lot of spicy food and this had the right amount of heat. Not overpowering at all. Highly recommend this location for some good curry.
Excellent food and service.
It’s not a good place to go there and maybe try another Thai restaurant is will better service is horrible!!
Our go-to place for delivery as well as dining in when we want to relax and not feel rushed. Food is always top notch.
I called to order today and got unlucky by getting a rude person on the phone. We buy food there and I always tip. Today, I wasn’t going to tip a penny to a person who was very rude. When I called, I asked for S7 and was asked what it was. I also asked for an order of sushi and was told you have to tell
us which one. I asked for an order of sushi, just give me anything and if I don’t like it, it will be my loss. Or make recommendations instead of saying I am busy.
This is not the first time my order was messed up. You order something with chicken and you get it with tofu. I live about 8 miles away and it is very irritating to get home to find out that your order was messed up and have to go back to get it corrected. By the time I get back, all the food is cold. I ordered soft shell crab yellow curry and it was tasteless. Maybe it is just me that does not like it. Anyways, I just wanted to share my thoughts.
Overall pretty good and decent place to dine and wine. Food was good and service was good
Delicious food. It's hard to find Asian food that isn't just fried food with standard sauce, but Jasmine Thai delivers excellent food; well cooked and extraordinary sauce. Their smoked tuna roll was fabulous.
Jasmine Thai catered the appetizers and salada for our wedding and they were wonderful. We ordered the chicken satay which was tender, the pork dumplings were gone by the end of cocktail hour, the garden rolls and curry puffs were also excellent. We ordered the house salad and avocado salad which both came with delicious dressings. We hired our own staff, but they delivered the food to the venue which was a huge help! Our guests raved about the food, one saying that after attending four weddings so far this year that ours had the best food by far.
The star of our lunch was surprisingly the sushi. We shared the green dragon roll which was huge and very delicious. It really made up for the rest. Overall I'd eat the Japanese side of the menu if I came here again. I'll pass on the Thai.
Excellent in every way!!
The turkish waiter was alert and polite.
Just moved to the area and my first time at the restaurant. The service was horrible. We waited a long time for a server to get our order and the restaurant was not busy. I ordered the pad Thai combination and it smelled as repulsive as it tasted (1 small bite). I sent it back and the server stated I would not be charged but I could order another dish. I didn’t feel confident another dish would taste much better so I did not order another entree. My friend ordered spring rolls which weren’t bad. My friend also shared that others who had ordered pad Thai from there weren’t pleased. But I ended up being charged for the pad thai because the manger was RUDE. The service overall was despicable. We waited a long time to get our check, and no one ever came to get our payment until I got up to give it to them. I’m sure they thought I was getting up to leave without paying. I highly do not recommend.
Almost every time I take the Cross Sound Ferry from New London, we stop there to either dine in or for take out to eat on the ferry.
Delish!
My friend got the chicken teriyaki bento box and I got the sushi bento box lunch specials. They came with miso soup, salad with the turmeric and ginger dressing, a crab Rangoon, an egg roll, four pieces of a California roll, rice and the entrees. It was all very delicious and we were very full after. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area, 10/10 highly recommend
May 1, 2023, 2pm
Jasmine Thai is BEAUTIFUL. The servers are wonderful. The food is exquisite! I had garden rolls, miso soup, a California roll and unaki [sic] roll. My friend had Philadelphia roll. (She had another but I can't remember what!) We also had the Thai iced coffee, which was robust, creamy and very sweet. We loved it!
Sushi is fresh and food was good
Delicious, reasonable, and good service!
You can never go wrong with the curry or sushi here, even the salads are bomb. Treat yourself to something nice and get food here, I can't go too often but I do go once every few months and it never disappoints.
Lovely place in a nice location. The staff are perfectly in tune with how much attention their customers want, which is a fine (and rare) skill.
The food is tasty but unexceptional. The pad thai had good flavor, but lacked punch.
Tried the new lounge. It was amazing! The food and atmosphere were great! An incredible band called the Cartels was playing! It was a great night out! Love this place!!!
Never in my life have I been made uncomfortable at a restaurant! Like I’ve never had a waitress dart for a check that had already been paid. I was going to my car to get cash for my waitress and another waitress (who was not mine) literally chased me out the door saying “bad service?” That literally caught me off guard since I was going to get cash. I ended up putting the tip on the credit card. She was NOT my waitress. Why in the hell would she touch another girls table check? Who told her it was okay to run after and harass a customer over tip. What If I put cash on the table and walked away? Would she take what’s not hers? DEFINITELY NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!
Avocado, sweet potato, and three sisters rolls were excellent.
Great food with a great atmosphere!
Everything was absolutely delicious and the staff was very accommodating! We will definitely go back..
The curries and spring rolls are excellent. Some on our group had sushi, beautifully presented. Delicious food, attentive service.
Fantastic food , service and atmosphere!
I recommend as my favorite the chicken and salmon teriyaki dinners the meals are big but very very good.
If your looking for a weekend or nice dinner I recommend here to eat
Great food reasonable prices
I wanted sushi... chicken pad thi was ok
My family's go to for awesome food. Everyone has their favorites, mine are the dumplings, not like anyone others around. Food is always awesome, we always do takeout, sometimes when they are busy times are longer but well worth the wait. When I go to pickup the restaurant appears clean, and others dining have smiles on their faces.
Our female manager was unfortunately unresponsive to a request from us who have dined there over 10 years, will NEVER return and will spread the word to bad service
Sorry, but I hated it. My sushi roll was incredibly spicy and that was not indicated on the menu. I couldn’t finish it.
The food was excellent. The Miso has lots of tofu, instead of the few tiny pellets you get elsewhere. The sushi was fresh and good. The steamed dumplings are my favorite thing! They are boss. You should try them. The spring rolls were decent. The only thing I didn't like was my Thai iced coffee. It tasted burnt, but in fairness to the restaurant we went late, so it was close to closing and the coffee may have been on for some time. I will try again at an earlier time of day next time.
No one comes close to the taste of this food. Jasmine ties my favorite by far. New London would not be the same without them!
We love JT. Its out go to lunch date spot
Great place. Food is spectacular and always friendly people. Makes you feel at home.
Yum
