Everything we tried was very tasty. The chicken satay was cooked to perfection, the chicken teriyaki was delicious and the Pho was so good! The kind of place you leave feeling full and satisfied with the freshness and all the flavors!

Yesterday I had the best Yellow Chicken Curry at the Bangkok Room. It was very flavorful with lots of vegetables. (Squash, Carrots, onions, green peppers and Potatoes) also pineapple.
It was so good I came back today for lunch again!

I tried the crispy Padd Thai this visit. While it was very tasty, generous amount of both shrimp and chicken, I grew a little tired of the noodles about halfway through the meal. If I hadn't had the regular Padd Thai on previous visits, which I really enjoyed, I would probably have been more of a fan. It was still very delicious! The coconut soup was amazing! My husband thought that the massaman curry was the best he's had! I can't wait to go back!

Omg. The food here is so good! I brought the Bangkok Room to the attention of my co workers. I would have given a higher review but although the food is excellent, service is not. I called ahead to order at lunchtime hours but when he (cashier) quoted the price it was slightly higher. I pointed out the price difference online and he insisted that was not the price. I said a lot of us order from the nearby medical center. Would you please let the manager know to change the price online. When I arrived he said, “I spoke to my manager and the price is correct as he eagerly showed me. I also pulled up the website and showed him a lower price. He then said would you like an appetizer? I said yes - I always order the same - egg rolls. He said, well that’s the problem you never said lunch. I said it was lunchtime and I referred to a $15 price on a lunch menu on the website. Because he sounded annoyed, I told him I was not there to argue. I just wanted to pick up the food. I told him that he could have asked me about the appetizer when I said the price was $15. I said the customer is always right implying most establishments try their best to please. His response to the customer is always right was “Not always.” I would just like to say that some customer service re-training would help. Otherwise, love this place.

The best soups I can get since Ivy Wok closed down!

Maybe I have high expectations of food here, so I am disappointed. I ordered main dish ROAST duck, but when I got home, I found out this $27 duck dish was deep-fried. The menu shows ‘’ roast‘’, should serve it roasted. Or change the description on the menu as deep-fried.

Had a delicious dinner here! The Tom Yum soup, crab rangoons, and Thai sampler were all delicious for appetizers. Everyone was happy with their entrees of lemongrass chicken, noodles, fried rice, yellow curry, pad Thai, and Param noodle as well. We found the restaurant to be really clean, and it was nice that the kitchen was open, where you could see it was clean there as well. This is a great local spot close to home for us, so we will definitely be back!

Amazing service and food, we’re tourists visiting America, and this was our first authentic taste of Thai food. The Beef Fried Rice was our highlight, the Tom Yum soup was also an amazing cross of spicy but not too spicy. Our chef (Joe)’s food was all fantastic, we got the Pan Fried Beef, Tom Yum Soup and the Beef fried rice. The service was also great, the staff were really nice especially Elmer, who despite my constant mess up went back to in the hack to get more cutlery, bowls, etc. We knew it was going to be good but WOW! We’re definitely going back, the service from Elmer was great, and the food by Joe was really authentic 10/10 would recommend!

Ordered the pad see u. The noodles were supposed to be the flat rice noodles, however they were pad thai looking noodles. There was a picture on their website of the noodles and it looked more like what I am used to so I was surprised when I saw them that they were different. The noodles did not have any flavor, and were super dry. I did reach out to the restaurants email because I drove home 30 min after picking up the order and realized this and was disappointed. They have not contacted me back.

The curry is out of this world. The location is beautiful. The staff is incredibly kind and personable. This is a must-go if you're in the area.

Great food and service

Got an order of Seaseme Chicken and my mom some Broccoli Chicken stir fry. The chicken in the Broccoli Chicken stir fry was cold, little unpleasant. The brown sauce was more like a broth then actually sauce, flavorless. The Seaseme Chicken was straight up fried chicken, cut into strips with no seaseme seasoning or sauce. Couldn't honestly recommend this place.

The food is usually good but its so inconsistent. One day it will be amazing then the next day taste completely different. Then its really disappointing when you get the bad days because you were expecting it to taste one way but get it totally different.

Cons: no alcohol here which is likely why they weren’t busy for a Sat night pm but everything else was absolutely the best I’ve had in so so long.

Used to come to this place often but the last one, we received LOUSY SERVICE. Thus, I gave ZERO Tip. The waiter confronted me as if I am required by law to give him a tip. We just ignored him and walked right out.

Probably won't be back in this LOUSY place anytime soon.

I've never actually eaten here so I don't know how the food is, but you're already off to a bad start when I'm literally up the hill from your restaurant and the online ordering tells me I'm out of the delivery zone, you're literally 0.4 miles from me and you don't deliver to my address?! That's absolutely ridiculous!! I don't even wanna try your food if already I'm having problems getting it. Absolutely ridiculous and unheard of.

When I called I kept asking what were the prices and they kept saying: yes, what lunch special would you like? It was just ok. We do takeout from here at least 3 times a month but I'm not excited here recently by the food. The staff could also be much nicer. The women dismissed me from the bat area when i wanted to pay and the other young lady who checked me out was very unpleasant. Too many fabulous Thai places to lose sleep over this one.

Probably the best sesame chicken I've had. Not what I expected but definitely good. Crunchy breading that wasn't overly present coating tender white chicken. The sauce was a tad salty but not too distractingly so. Very clean place with good service, food, and energy!

Went to dine in, my little brother did not like the food he was served and barely touched it. They didn’t ask to swap it out for anything and told us we needed to pay full price. When I explained how that was unfair, they said all they could do was give a discount. Guess what the discount was? $1. I’ve loved eating here before but this is terrible customer service. Not coming back.

Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls were nice, vegetable pad thai was decent. Also ordered the sesame chicken. This dish tasted greasy and not entirely fresh. Overall, it was only an ok meal tonight.

If you're looking for some great thai cuisine Bangkok room Is the place. The food is phenomenal. Ansonia now has moved to a culinary diversity. Started off with pork and shrimp dumplings, thai wings, and ended with the most suculent roasted duck with curry sauce. If you're in the area come and have a Singha beer and take a food trip into the Thai culture. I bet you won't regret it.

Terrible service, I ordered from Uber Eats and after waiting for 35 min for the restaurant to prepare the order I called to check in. The guy said we don’t partner with Uber Eats and made me feel like a bother, giggling when I mentioned that they’re on the APP. As a business professional myself, I believe this is due to poor communication within the staff and their management, $30 order is steep to part with for Dumplings, Spring Rolls and a Ginger Ale when the service is so terrible. I don’t recommend it, I will gladly go out of my way get Thai food simply to not deal with that staff. If quality service is important to you as a consumer, please take your money somewhere else!

We have loved Thai food for many years. We often find many Thai restaurants have been inconsistent with their food. Order a dish one time, it knocks your socks off...order again, total flop or something entirely different.

Bangkok Room is decorated tastefully with many beautiful photos of Thailand. It’s VERY clean. You can see the gleaming stainless steel kitchen from the dining area.

Service very attentive. Food on point. Pricing reasonable. Great lunch specials! Plenty of parking. We highly recommend it!

The food is always so excellent. Perhaps it's because it's prepared right there where you can see it, and then plated nice and hot to your table. My family loves the ice tea. I was never a fan of ice tea until I had my first one at this restaurant. I'm totalling hooked on it now. Overall, this is a great restaurant and I highly recommend it.

The food was great, I had the steak salad, it was real good, and I had the Drunkin Chicken for a main dish, and the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Hot tea to drink, that was great also. The problem I had was the waitress hardly spoke any English, and didnt understand us. They were very busy, and it took a long time to take our order, and get our food, but the food was really good. We got there at 6:30, we got our check at 8:15.way to long to be at a restaurant for dinner. I will definately go back on a different day than Friday night, and I will adjust my rating accordingly!

Otherwise service has typically been fantastic with delicious meals.

This place is great! The food is AMAZING! Everytime I go there, I want to buy everything on the menu. I'll buy random things, and each dish is tastier than the last. The service is fast. The location is perfect. The staff is courteous and friendly. Their Thai Iced Coffee is heavenly! 5 stars is too little for this place, they're like a galaxy of stars! AAAAAAAAAND they're BYOB!!!!!!!! No corking fee but they have their own bar if you would rather order! My 100% most unreserved recommendation!

The lunch specials are a fantastic choice if you're looking to broaden your horizons with Thai food. Very reasonably priced, the lunch specials come with soup, an appetizer, and your entree.
There's the standard Pad Thai available, and a huge choice of other options.
I got the Pad Woonsen, and they were happy to make it without the chicken and shrimp that comes standard with it. They also made my coconut soup vegetarian for me.
Try both the Thai hot tea and the Thai iced tea.
There are also several dessert options.
Portions are reasonable for lunch specials, and generous otherwise. I left feeling full, but not overstuffed.
The overall look of the restaurant is clean, modern, but still very cozy. The service is excellent, and our waitress was very attentive.
Definitely worth the trip if you don't live in town, especially if you've never seen the quaint Main Street stretch.

My wife and I moved to Stamford and have tried 6 or 7 other Thai places -- none come close to replacing the Bangkok Room. All of the curries and noodle dishes are consistently fantastic, and the delicious hot Thai tea with lemon is a necessity. We especially recommend the param noodles and massaman curry, better than you'll find anywhere else in the area.

Excellent, authentic Thai food. This is not an "Asian Fusion" restaurant that offers a bunch of Asian dishes that are poorly made; this is top-notch Thai!

My only complaint is that the portions are small. I'd rather they charge a dollar or two extra and have big portions. Americans love to eat!

Finally, a place that knows how to cook duck, and the brown sauce was awesome. Service was great as well.

Food is excellent, but I am knocking 2 stars off for service.
I had dinner last night with a large party for a special celebration. We had late reservations (8:30) but it was well before closing.
We ordered appetizers, bottles of wine and dinners. The whole time we were rushed. The appetizers came out at the same time as the dinners. 2 of the dinners arrived 10 minutes late. At 9 o'clock we were still eating dinner when the waitress put the check on our table. We wanted dessert and were told they didn't have the ingredients required, which I'm not sure was truthful.
I've been in the restaurant business my whole life and I've had many nights where the kitchen closes, but I stay hours after closing because I still have tables. It's a matter of good customer service and good management. The only reason I decided to celebrate at Bangkok Room as opposed to a busier place in New Haven somewhere is because this is local to me and I like to support newer businesses.
All in all, I'd say go for the food, but if you are either a large party or want to have a late date night dinner, go somewhere else where you can actually enjoy yourself.

Disappointed in myself for never coming here before. Service was outstanding, Thai Iced Tea was creamy and flavorful, and the crab rangoons were some of the best I've ever had. It was spotless, quiet and fairly quick. You're really selling yourself short not giving it a try. Pricing is very reasonable and the quality beats 99% of what you get in NYC, no question.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and love this place. I realized when looking for places open on a Sunday that we never took the time to post a review and rave about this place. The staff is wonderful. The food is very delicious. We've had several different dishes. You can tell that they take their business very seriously and have pride in what they do. It is a little pricier so we don't frequent it as often as we'd like, but it is totally worth every penny.

Service was good food was excellent

The food tastes great- very fresh tasting. Everything had a unique flavor of its own, and the pork dumplings were amazing! The staff is friendly and accommodating. It has a modern, clean, but not sterile or clinical atmosphere. The seats and booths are comfortable. I saw someone else mention how this place is pricey, but we got the lunch special and it was a bill under 30 dollars for two. Can't complain about that! My girlfriend and I will be coming back for sure. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

It's very very good but very very pricey. The service is outstanding and the food, delicious. So there's a trade off but that's usually the case. The bathrooms are extremely clean and pleasant. It's never really crowded and you can sit inside or outside. The Tai Ice Tea is absolutely delicious. Beef and broccoli, amazing! Spicy chicken, to die for. And the food is always hot. I never had an "ok" meal, always perfect.

Great food,relaxing environment with prompt and efficient service. Love coming here for some healthy and delicious food. Not the healthy part of the menu but these wing are incredible.
