Thai Food
My husband and I tried this place recently and it was great in every aspect! It was easy to find, the atmosphere was nice and the service was really good. We split the Tom Kha Soup and it was excellent. My husband got the Panang curry with chicken and enjoyed it, especially with spicy chili oil at the table. I got the Khao Soi with noodles and shrimp—it was delicious! The portions were big so we got to enjoy left overs the next day. Everything at Thai Chili 98 was great, I would definitely come back.
Went with my husband and our 9 month old son and it reminded us of all the amazing Thai places in a bigger city. They really know how to cook their food and there were so many things I could feed my child with out it being fried. I will definitely be coming back and I recommend the drunken noodles and Thai fried rice! We of course got it extra spicy and loved it! Also my waitress was super nice and loved talking with my son, I can’t wait to come back.
What a pleasant and delicious surprise this place turned out to be! Fresh vegetables, flavorful broth, beautiful presentation and excellent service. Had the Red Curry Duck...delicious and just the right heat level for me.(I chose medium heat)
My friend had Pad Thai..also delicious.
We ordered 2 dishes. The drunken noodle ramen style is very good (36/50).
The Khao Soi is fine, average (30/50). It’s not my style and I prefer rice dishes. The vegetable spring rolls for $8.99 had two smaller rolls cut into two. Definitely not worth it (25/50). There is a complimentary vegetable soup that is solid 37/50 star.
Thai green tea: good, kind of floral (33/50). Overall, meh. But considering I’m in Western Colorado, I rounded up to a 4 star. If I was in Houston or Cali, I’d wouldn’t be as generous. Overall, I support local. Nice staff.
We were feeling a little adventurous and I had been thinking about going here for a while... This is our first experience with Thai food.
The Good: Notable portion size. Flavorful authentic taste. Food came quickly... always a good thing. Free parking.
The Bad: Prices are a little high (for us) offset by portion size. Overtones of seafood in our non-seafood meals (I personally can't do seafood). Menu is confusing. Prices are not clearly marked for Fried Rice dishes... IDK.
Anyhow service was ok I guess, just forgot a couple things, didn't check on us too much, hard to get a "your welcome".. and it was a tag team effort. They are helpful and friendly though so don't take it the wrong way.. maybe just custom.
Also note: They may close early so don't show up at 830pm and expect to be seated. Even on a Friday night at dinner rush hour it was slow.
Overall: I would recommend. Try it. Go for the adventure. Just enjoy it for what it is.
Well it started as a fun place I went in expecting good food but the sodas are 6 dollars for a can that's kinda crazy if you ask Me so I ordered a green tea and It was too sweet and smelt like dog saliva I than ordered a duck noodle soup the duck tasted old and the soup was sweet for some reason
Not the same as Smile Thai before.

Great food and service. But pricy. One soda and one lunch entrees. Over $30. Sadly that'll keep me away..
Great fresh food made quickly.
The food is delicious and they have always gotten our to go orders right! The team is friendly and professional. They really know how to give you some spice, which I love. Definitely recommend this place for delicious Thai food!
easily the best and most authentic Thai in western Colorado. fantastic. we had half the menu and enjoyed a long lunch that was a pure delight.
อาหารอร่อยมากๆคุ้มกับราคาที่จ่ายคนไทยต้องมากินนะเเบบสุดๆ
Everything was amazing!! Absolutely loved the Khao Soi and Thai Tea! The service was very very friendly, and quick! Definitely recommend!
We were, sadly, so disappointed. We couldn’t even swallow one bite. We ordered the Pad Thai and it tasted like rotten fish and broccoli. Besides the small crushed peanuts on top there was not a hint of the sauce flavor. $50 in the trash. I guess we don’t all have the same taste in cuisine.
June 2021: After tent camping for days, we wanted to get some restaurant food and stopped here on our way through. Ordered the vegetarian Pad Ka Prow and Pad Se Ew with tofu. Great texture and flavor on both dishes. The vegetable soup had a strong soy sauce taste that overpowere other flavors but as that was a complimentary service with entree orders, it did not factor into my rating.
Amazing food made by great, friendly people. Pad Thai is bomb.
My son and I went to this restaurant and my son was amazed how accurate e food was to Thailand. Excellent food, service and atmosphere!!

This used to be my favorite restaurant in town when it was Thai Smiles, but just ordered takeout for first time since new ownership and was disappointed. Egg rolls are very small, noodles in all our dishes were overcooked and soggy. Flavor in Khao Soy was good, but noodles tasted like overcooked spaghetti.
No complaints about service, staff very kind, but food is just not very good compared to previous owners. Probably won’t be back.
This Thai food place has amazing flavors!! We will be back to try other dishes.
This place was recently purchased by new owners and while the staff are kind, and the atmosphere is probably the same (we mostly order in, so can't really say), the food was tremendously bad.
We ordered cashew chicken, duck soup, curry, tom kha soup, pot stickers and egg rolls. The egg rolls were pretty decent. Everything else was high in sugary sweetness and low in any other spice / flavor.
It was once the best Thai restaurant in town; it is now the worst.
I used to love Thai Smile, but it seems like they changed owners recently? Either way, super disappointment in how the food turned out. Everything was weirdly sweet!
Also the portion size noticeably decreased.
I've been here twice in the past month and I've had a great experience both times. The pot stickers are fantastic and the service is out of this world! Staff is all so friendly and extremely considerate. I look forward to coming here again!
This WAS one of my favorite places to eat until the new owners took over. I ordered takeout, which was incorrect due to the language barrier, and then was told how I had messed up my own order by the rude jerk working up front that took the order. Definitely will never go back, unfortunately! Good luck staying in business and treating your guests like that. Guaranteed the owner will leave a sparky reply to this as with all the other negative reviews.
Have eaten here a few times since the new ownership, and we are very happy! The food is delicious and they have always gotten our to go orders right! The team is friendly and professional. They really know how to give you some spice, which I love. Definitely recommend this place for delicious Thai food!
Wonder how many customers per day u lose bc no delivery, must be nice to not want for cash.
Food was great and the server was attentive.
Old place, Thai Smile, was amazing!
It's under new management, and the menu is poo. They remodeled beautifully, though. Food was really good still! We ordered Pad See Eu, Thai wings and egg rolls. Sad they didn't have satay anymore but.
Minus 1star for no chicken satay.
We love this place and eat here often, but the new, wayyyy smaller, portion sizes for the same price is disappointing.
We started our lunch with a fried tofu app: the side sauce with the crushed peanuts was sweet and tangy but the tofu tasted like nothing and had the texture of dried out sponges, crunchy and flavorless without the sauce and for $9.00 we got like 8 pieces. I had the duck noodle soup with the egg noodles and my lunch date had the pad thai: the duck was very greasy, mostly all skin and the meat was cut up in pieces, which it didnt look like the pic in the menu. In fact, both dishes looked nothing alike the pics in the menu, plus the portions were small for $20 dishes each. The duck noodle soup broth was brown and sweet, nothing like a pho broth I have ever tasted; I had to use chilli sauce and limes to enhance the flavor because it tasted like a caramel sugary soup with greasy duck chunks of meat on top. The pad thai had flavor but the noodles were rubbery and some were sticking together. Pad Thai usually has crushed peanuts on top but this one didnt; it was meat, green onions, sauce and noodles, so nothing extraordinary or great, just subpar thai dish. Me and my partner have eaten in many Thai and Asian restaurants in our lives and this one didnt make an impression. 2 dishes and an app, $65 with tip, which made me upset because the food was really not worth the price and the portions were also lacking. We would not be back and would not recommend. The service was okay and the place is clean and pretty, bit stank of fabuloso during the middle of our lunch, like they were moping while we were there so all the thai aromas of the food gone because of the fabuloso stench. We had to rush and get out of there because we didnt enjoy the food and it was stinking.
Just tried this Thai Restaurant with new owners. Live right down street so dined here a bit during old owners. Really good. The soup was much more flavorful, appetizer was good and entree was full of flavor and veg. I would highly recommend you try again if you have been here before.
Used to love this place. They stopped carrying organic chicken as an option. That's a shame. Won't be coming back until they bring it back.
Their food was decent but not as spicy as I would expect.
Great thai food. This will be a regular spot on our list. Food was good and hot. Restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere.
My mom and I come here often for lunch. I always have the same order, chicken pad Thai spicy, and it's always perfect. They remind me of a place in my hometown. So happy that they are near where I live. Best Pad Thai in the valley.
Thai is a competitive cuisine in the Grand Valley. Thai Smile doesn't disappoint.
Service was top notch, food was out fast and delicious. The Thai Ramen with fried tofu I had was savory, fresh veggies, with strong overtones of basil which I enjoyed. The only ding was the vegetable egg rolls were over cooked, left too long in the fryer. But other than that excellent food will be back again.
I've eaten at each Thai restaurant in town multiple times, this is my least favorite of all of them. I swear they used condensed milk instead of coconut milk, it is so sweet.
I ordered the curry, panang* .. I swear it was condensed milk it was sickenly sweet.
Food is okay. I've had better. The price is ridiculous. I'd rather go to Yama sushi. Then here for the price. You get better food and better sushi. At Yama sushi 🍣
Food was excellent and authentic. Service was good. But charging $4 for a bowl of steamed rice is excessive.
Alles frisch zubereitet. Freundliche Bedienung. Lecker
This is a five star restaurant. The food was wonderful. The salad with peanut dressing and the soup were delicious. The Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles were excellent. The waitress was so nice and friendly. Wonderful.
I had the shrimp pad Thai. Excellent! Small place with tight parking but the food was good as was the service.
The food was awesome and great as always. My favorite spot to stop by while driving through Grand Junction. Definitely one of the best restaurants for Thai food in CO. However the new waiter (or one I haven’t met before) that was serving around 1:30PM of 08/30/24 was very rude. She rushed me too frequently and had an attitude while serving me with a fake smile behind it the whole time. Grabbing menus out of a customers hand without asking for it is unacceptable. Giving the bill to a customer before finishing food is okay, taking away condiments before finishing food is not okay. Saying that you charge extra for small amount of extra Thai peanut sauce when I know for a fact you don’t (given the amount of times I’ve been there) but that you’ll let it slide, is annoying, because I know it’s made up.
Unsurprisingly, I chose not to tip at the end. Then the waiter had the audacity to ask me to tip her. Service was not good, so I told her it was optional, I was not going to tip. She proceeded to lie about only making money off tips. I told her I’m not tipping then she called me rude. I just told her better service is expected next time.
Tips are for service that goes above and beyond. The waiter today went above and beyond to make my experience eating there uncomfortable. Thus no tip. Such a shame, the waiter before was much better, kinder, more patient, and much more understanding and pleasant.
This place is amazing love it
Great food! Tried red curry and soup!

Excellent ! Personnels très gentils. C'est très propre. Les plats sont copieux et très très bons. 98 $ pour 4 avec les boissons. Allez y les yeux fermés.
如果你是看小红书看到这家店,别来!味道一般,咖喱太稀,自动算消费并且没有提醒我们,让我们付了2次消费。全家6个人吃了180刀。
$90.00+ for 2 people to eat. 2 bowls of soup, two curries, and one dessert. I’ve never spent this much money on Thai food in my life. Way too expensive for the quality. Protein is basic and tough, mushrooms used in Tom Kha are simple
Cheap white mushrooms, broth more water and stock than cream. Curries very watery and thin. Feels they are stretching out the product and sacrificing quality. Flavor profile of the curries for Massaman and the Penang were at least distinguishable, unlike other local Thai places. Mango sticky rice was decent, nothing special.
Delicious pad thai that reminds me of home and refreshing thai ice tea. The environment is very inviting and everyone has a smile on their face.
One of our favorites in town!!
Absolutely one of my go to places!!! Such nice staff and wonderful food!!
We were feeling a little adventurous and I had been thinking about going here for a while... This is our first experience with Thai food.

Overall: I would recommend. Try it. Go for the adventure. Just enjoy it for what it is.
Excellent food and service. To my delight, I chose Drunken Noodles with Tofu. Flavors are authentic, ingredients are fresh, and servings are generous. Lunch will set you back approximately $20-$35 per person sans tip. You can expect a boxed takeaway meal from your leftovers. I am from out of town but will dine here again on future trips to Grand Junction.
Very good service, food and everything. Best Thai in Junction. Period.
Drunken noodles were delish! Heavy on the veggies which I always appreciate. Will definitely order here again when back in GJ for work!
Nice restaurant with a variety of oriental style food 05/2024.
Not the place to go for romance but the food is the best.
As a taxi driver I do a lot of eating out
Thai Smiles is more like home cooking than
that restaurant food. I love it!
Special shout-out to Ms Irma
My wife lived in Thailand for 2 years, and we have been to Thailand together a few times. We have had Thai food across the US, and the Pad Thai here is better than anywhere I’ve ever had it outside of Thailand!
Drunken noodles also amazing. They always get my order right, always friendly and fast. We are lucky to have the best Thai food in a multi-state region here in GJ. This place is amazing, prepare to be impressed!
We drove out of our way for Thai, and were glad we did. Fast friendly service, nice atmosphere, excellent food. We hope to return in the future.
The Pad Khing Ginger was one of the best Thai dishes I have had, and I love Thai food. If you are driving through Grand Junction, check them out.
So dang good! Nice people too. Love it will be back
Smile is a very nice Thai restaurant if you love Thai food, you can't go wrong by choosing this Thai restaurant, the atmosphere in this restaurant is very suitable for a dining experience, the service is very good they pay attention to your comfort and give you the attention that you need for a great dining experience, the food is great compared to other Thai restaurants but don't let me convince you, take a look for yourself and you will see what I am talking about, you will be glad you did, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that love Thai as well as Asian foods, there are several plates to choose from, so go to smile Thai food restaurant and you will came out with a big smile, and don't forget to complement the manager for a great meal. Happy dining my friends.
Excellent food, very friendly service. It's not cheap but well worth the price. Best Thai food in Mesa county.
Always a good choice for Thai food. Customer service is great and friendly. You can't go wrong with Thai Smile.
Beef in one order tasted like bad fish, and was completely inedible. We ended up splitting one order of Chicken Drunken Noodles. It had lots of fresh vegetables (why I gave 2 stars instead of 1), but no significant flavor or heat to the dish. Very disappointing.
I've been here a few times, and enjoy the food. Decided to take it up a notch from medium spicy to spicy (there's still a level above this one). I'm not one for eating a lot of spicy food, but this added to the experience. Eyes watered, and nose ran a little, but flavor was not compromised. Great place for quick Thai lunch. Thank you!
You should eat here.
Strange Experience. The staff were very friendly. The tom kha soup was great. The boba tastes off or poor quality, as if it were frozen. Not chewy. The pho was awful; it tasted like an instant ramen beef seasoning packet was put into it. You could not pick out spices such as star anise. ‘Beef’ pho with no inventive flavor for $19. Much better choices in grand junction and for cheaper. The sweet and sour chicken is not fried or breaded and had a strange flavor. Expensive and not great.
Each of our 4 dishes (pad see-ew or drunken noodles) had way too much salt in it. The waitress was nice to give us a discount when we mentioned the level of salt. I’m almost curious if the cook accidentally mixed up sugar with salt for the sauces. 😅
Great place amazing Thai food! Good portions and friendly staff.
Took my daughter in for her 21st bday meal. Not a lot of choices but the server wasn’t the friendliest person. We had to wait for our 3rd person. She made us feel rushed. No smile no welcome when thanked. Perfect example of what not to do when in customer service
Best food in town, even better service whether it’s to-go or dine-in. Large portions, amazing flavor, and even when you get home with your takeout it’s just as good as right at the table.
Sweet people and delicious food!!
Food and service were great. Lots of gf options.
They substituted extra vegetables for rice with my red curry! It was delicious and service was great. Cashew nut and fresh rolls great too. We have found our favorite thai in the valley.
I tried the Basil fried rice recently, and it did not disappoint. I already loved their Thai fried rice. Everything is fresh, hot, and delicious.
I always get take out but they're always awesome. Super nice and I've never had them forget a single detail on my order. Highly recommend the curries or the fried rice.
Authentic and good! Curries are excellent. Don't order "medium" because it translates into Thai as "burn your mouth out of your head" - type of hot.
Incredible food. Brought a big party and the service was great. Extremely satisfying meal! Easy vegan and gluten free options.
Me and my family of 14 had a insane time!!!’ 🍷 even with one of my kids acting out we still had a awesome time 😎 The staff was friendly and food was baller ⛹️♀️. We love the staff!!! 🤠 Definitely will be coming back!!! 😄.
Best curry in town! Will try everything on the menu eventually, highly recommended.
So worth the drive from I-70! True authentic Thai food. We had five meals, all super delicious. And if you are vegan or gluten free, you are good to go with lots of fresh veggies in meals. Service was so nice too. Our new spot for when we drive through Grand Junction!
Rosalie is just the sweetest! Her and the other staff members always make us feel so welcomed. Great customer service & BEST Thai food in town! 😃
One of the best thai restaurants. The food tasted great, one other thing is they serve organic chicken. I loved the food, we tried fried tofu, Chicken dumplings, Chicken satay and veggie fried rice. All were great.
Best Thai in town!!!! Was actually spicy & comparable to CA Thai :D Got the fresh spring rolls, pad thai noodles (all seafood), & basil fried rice (chicken & added pineapple).
Food and service are really something to smile about.
The staff is always friendly and personable. The restaurant is kept very clean and it is a great spot to grab lunch. You can order any of the dishes Thai hot on their heat scale and it is delicious (not just heat with no flavor). It's great for casual dining and the prices are affordable.
Mmmmm!!! And mmmmmm! Go here!
Good food.
All around great dining experience. The service fast, friendly and fun!!! Food was remarkable. Best Thai I have had in area so far and it is my family's go to type of cuisine.
I could literally eat here everyday and never get sick of their food. Service is amazing and the food is unmatched, they can take all of my money!
Fast service, reasonable cost and excellent taste. Plentiful and definitely worth the visit.
Busy lunch hour, but food was fast and delicious!
Was a great stop. Driving through the area looking for something different to eat and came across Thai Smile, looked good online and did not disappoint. The service and food was spectacular. Extremely satisfied with the vegetarian options. Would definitely return.
Best Thai hands down
Very good service too
After reading all of the positive reviews, decided to get take out. What a pleasant surprise... Wonderful authentic Thai food, some of the best I've had, since my time in Los Angeles... Rosalie was so friendly and beautiful, it made me smile. Excellent food, wonderful staff... I shall gladly return...Tom Yum and Jungle Curry were excellent.... Thank You!!!
So good!!! I had appetizers, a main dish and mango sticky rice for dessert. Everything was great so I took a Thai coffee to go. The service was so damn friendly as well.
The food was very good and fresh. The service was very friendly and incredibly kind.
The drunken noodle here is excellent 👌
Great staff with friendly service and excellent food. Delicious with hearty portions!! Love it. :)
After recently moving across town, I will still visit to get my favorite dish (Drunken Noodles) even though I no longer live just down the road.
Excellent food. Friendly service
A group of us went to Thai Smiles last weekend. One of us is gluten-free and dairy free, and one is vegan. Both patrons were easily accommodated. The staff was amazing, and they were able to answer all of our questions. I was shocked at the beautiful presentation, well done! The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere wonderful. The spiciness was spot on, and my dish was well composed. I will be sure to return often.
The staff is always very polite and efficient. The food is excellent and I have never been disappointed and they have good vegan and veg options. I would definitely recommend.
Red duck curry had only a 1/3 cup of liquid in it, a fried duck leg, and large chunks of vegetables not cooked enough. For $30 this was quite disappointing.
My favorite thai food place in GJ! The food is so good and the portions are very generous. I love the fried tofu, fresh spring rolls, tom yum soup, classic fried rice and pad thai. They also have the best boba in the valley. I've dined in and ordered to go and it's always amazing!
Excellent service! Had Valentine's Day dinner here and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered egg rolls, seafood pho and beef pho. Both had rich, delicious broths. The seafood (shrimp and calamari) tasted fresh even though we know it had to be frozen this far inland. The beef was was strips of tender thin steak. Huge portions! Had to take most of it home. Very satisfying on a cold Winter night.
Very pleasant and friendly staff. Their Thai tea is Delicious as well. Definitely recommend.
Best Thai restaurant in the area by far.
I drive from Fruita to Grand Junction at least once a month to grab take out from Thai Smile, Great Thai food
Amazing!!! The food and service is outstanding; my family loves going here often. It can be a little pricey, but nothing too crazy, especially when supporting a small business with delicious food. Everyone should come here!
Great curry with a nice level of spice! I loved the sauce on the mixed vegetable!
Our server provided great service for our kids too!! It was such a treat, for the kids and myself, for the cute homemade holiday crayons and kid activities to entertain them!
Both Thai places in GJ are great, but we prefer Thai Smile. It tastes just a little healthier (seems fresher, less greasy), and the service is always top notch-- fast & friendly. The Pad See Ew and Thai Fried Rice are our go-tos. 5 stars!
Great authentic food. Very pleased with portion size and flavors. We will be back!
Excellent find in Grand Junction for authentic Thai food. I had their green curry. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours bold but not overwhelming.
Awesome food and wonderful people!
Very good food and a healthy serving.
The best thai in town, hands down.
Great food, large portions, exceptionally friendly staff
Love, love, love this place! The staff is friendly, food is amazing and service is prompt
Delicious food and caring service.
Always amazing!
Thai Smile is one of my favorite places in the Grand Valley to eat. I eat a plant based diet with limited to no processed sugars. That excludes most restaurants in the GV. Not with Thai Smile. I appreciate everything the owners do to make delicious safe meals. The Thai Red Curry is wonderful and is made in ways I can't duplicate at home. That's a sign of a great restaurant.
The food and the service was excellent! I really enjoyed the hot and sour soup and my husband liked the red curry duck.
Oh man, the food was SO delicious and the service great! I will definitely return.
Food seem to be good quality here. No reason to not visit. Prices were reasonable. I was disappointed as I typically go to Thai restaurants and get the massaman, this was probably the most disappointed I had been. It was not an issue with the quality just the flavor. They put a lot of onions in there which is not normally something I see in Muscle Man, however did not have carrots or any other vegetables. I think this could have changed the flavor but there just was something off. If I had been blindfolded I would not have known I was eating masaman. The staff was very very friendly and the food like I said was fresh and good quality.
Always great food and great service
If you aren’t taken by the tantalizing aromas as you walk in to the restaurant, you will be once you taste the food. Everything from veritable favorites like their pad Thai and drunken noodles, but there’s plenty more to explore for your palate. My personal favorite is the crispy duck. This restaurant is excellent for dine in or take out, and any diner who stops by will not be disappointed.
I really like this place, but every time I go it seems like I get less food for more money. Soon the value won’t be there anymore and they’ll lose a customer.
Got drunken noodles, medium spicy with shrimp and it was delicious. Rosalie helped us and she was so attentive, kind, and prompt. Grateful to stop by!
Great food. And can be spiced to any level
I'm less than 6 miles away and they will only deliver if I order $50 minimum and for an additional $6. Total bull...
The Thai food there is very tasty and authentic. Good service and friendly people. The menu has a lot of options, but it's not overwhelming. It was our first time there, but it won't be our last
Good, not great food.
Best Thai in town.
I ate there for the first time on Saturday and some of the best food I've had in a long time. Great customer service. I can't wait to see what the food truck is like on Horizon!❤️
Great service and very flavorful food!
This place is fantastic! We had never been to Thai Smile before and were looking for a last minute place to eat, so we figured we would try it out. The food was outstanding, every single thing was delicious! The restaurant is very clean and well maintained, and the staff were so kind and attentive. We will definitely be coming back!
The restaurant was clean, the staff was so friendly and kind, the food was DELICIOUS! Thank you!
