Small, cute, sit down restaurant with the most amazing fried tapioca noodles! Will definitely be visiting again very soon if I can help it! Service was fast and friendly and we got our food within 10 minutes.
Long story short- order the Guay Tiaw Noodle Soup. It’s the best.
I have avoided rating this place up to now, because despite my effort, I am usually disappointed. Compared to most this place is dry and flavorless with too many dishes. Ordered medium spice on fried rice and various noodle dishes- and all I could taste was the spice without flavor. Maybe it’s a low sodium thing, but personal opinion - I should not have to put excessive soy sauce to get food to be flavorful and less dry. However I love the staff and this is the only Thai food on door dash so they kept me as a customer and I kept them a mediocre option. Until one day I tried the Guay Tiaw medium spice and I was so impressed with it. Medium packs a punch but at the time I was sick and loved the burn. It’s flavorful and filling and although I prefer my toppings separate for takeout, it’s just so yummy I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s the one dish that brings them up from a three star establishment IMO.
Also- this is not a great location for atmosphere, that’s not the restaurants fault just layout.
So this place started out really good.... The egg rolls were delicious. Only reason for two stars. Now my pad thai is another story. Ordered medium spice and it definitely was not that. More close to hot to thai hot. I love spicy food, so I tried to power through. But after the 4 bite I couldn't get my nose to stop running and my lips are on fire. Total waste of money and they will never get my business again. I will go to thai hut from now on. They are not good either... but better than this place. Look at all the chili oil In the bottom of my dish! No flavor, bland expect for the taste of chili oil. Definitely worst thai food I have ever had.
I had a wonderful experience at this establishment! My wife has a severe gluten allergy, so it’s hard to find a place that will take this into account but Sizzling Siam did! Not only this, but they have already pre-marked which dishes are gluten free, and they make sure to prepare them in a way as to not cross contaminate. The costumer service and the food itself was wonderful! We both got medium spice as we really like spicy and this definitely met our expectations. As a side note, if you’re not really into spice try the mild or regular. I will definitely be going back again!
I ordered take out from here- my first time trying this place. I ordered pad thai with tofu and veggies. I hate to say it but I was disappointed- the pad thai was SO runny and watery. 😞
The worst rip off ever. I ordered #9... It is supposed to be a rice dish with chicken, bamboo and mushrooms.... Most of the dish contained glass noodles and rice. There were at the most 8 small pieces of chicken and a few slivers of bamboo... The photo shows what was left after I ate the little bit of chicken and some noodles.... What is left are mostly fillers.
It is DISGUSTING what restaurants are trying to get away with these days... My husband had fried rice and it was dry and mostly rice... Very little of everything else..
Stopped while driving through
Amazing food
Fair price
Kind to us

Perfect small little restaurant for personal dinning. Delicious authentic food.

The chicken tasted a bit weird
Great food and friendly service!!
Pretty bland. Got three different items and they all are bland. An expensive bummer.

Food is bland. Kinda dirty inside

I'm a doordash driver and have had many kinds of food in my car. I actually got physically sick and vomited multiple times from the smell of the food.
Food is always good, and they have great gluten free options. My favorite is the #2 GF with chicken.
The food was terrible, flavorless. There was a very long wait time even though we called way ahead of time.
The best for Thai in Durango. Not for the faint of heart as far as spice level is concerned.
It's a very small place, and very small tables with barstools. It's always busy with to-go orders..
Amazing food, great service, but not a lot seating for dinning.
In my opinion, this is the best Thai food in Durango. I love trying new menu items, and the staff is excellent at recommendations. The environment is super warm and welcoming, as well. My favs are #s 1, 7, 13, and 20, and you HAVE to try the egg and spring rolls!
Hands down best Thai cuisine on the Western slope. No razzle dazzle needed, the food is enough to amaze.
Went here on a weekday for dinner. I wasn't asked what spice level I wanted for my dish yet my husband was asked. Food is served on paper plates but besides that fact the sitting room is very small and not comfortable. Food was pretty bland, wouldn't recommend going here even for quick thai food. Pretty expensive for what it is- would not recommend.
Eat food and feel Like the taste in Thailand Order and wait not long. Who hasn't eaten yet? Go try it out, you won't be disappointed.
Great food awesome people, small but amazing
Highly recommend for authentic thai cuisine.
Probably the worst and most disgusting Thai food I’ve ever had in 30 years. Everything was overcooked, bland and tasteless, or in some cases actively disgusting. We threw it out. While there aren’t any great Thai places in Durango, the other 2-3 places are still better than this dump. Avoid at all costs
A local staple for fast Thai food. The inside area for eating is a bit small when they are busy, but the food is always hot (both kinds), fresh, and quick.
The woman that waited on us was really nice and helpful. The was just ok, not quite as good as most Thai places we’ve eaten. They serve on paper plates, with plastic forks and spoons. Our soups were served in plastic jars and awkward to eat out of. Obviously, they are set up for take out, not dine in.
Best Thai food in town. You want real Thai food come here. All the other restaurants not authentic. Worth the money and the wait.
I am so glad I found this thai place. It's located in downtown durango by the train station. I would say it is a small little hole in the wall kind of restaurant. It's a very compact area with minimal seating. It does have an outdoor area to sit and eat. Most people that came in there ordered orders to go, or they sat outside. The food that I ordered was delicious. Everything was hot and was spiced to perfection. I had asked for minimal spice, and that's exactly what I got. It's just enough spice to give it a zing, but not enough to burn my tongue off! The girl who took my order was also the one who brought me my food. She was very pleasant and welcoming and did not rush me through to make me feel like as if I had to hurry and order. I found the portion sizes to be quite large. This is definitely a place where you could share or like I did, bring the rest home for dinner.
Best Thai food in Durango! Do not pass up these flavors! Lunch time can get busy, so order ahead.
I've been to well over 30 Thai restaurants from coast-to-coast and never been disappointed in the food. This was a disappointment.
Best Thai place in town. <33
Edible. The pad thai tastes like a frozen meal, the Pad Kra Pao had no lime, too little basil, just chili flakes for seasoning- vegetables undercooked. Green curry was bland. I genuinely don’t like giving bad reviews, but the only redeeming quality was the portions were large. Also, no online menu, making it hard to order take out.
Pad Thai was great! So were the egg rolls.
Excellent as always!
Super spicy!!! But incredibly good, huge portions, authentic Thai.
Welp. That was… different. What… what was that?
Definitely was not Lard Nha by any measure. More a noodle soup in a clear sweet sauce? I know there are regional iterations of dishes but… what? Large portion, but beyond that nothing like I’ve ever had— nor want again. 🤣
Tom Yum was amazing the two workers on shift were So Welcoming. I came for my birthday with my kids and wasn't disappointed.
My friend and I had just left the Durango & Silverton train and spotted this little hole in the wall of a restaurant. We decided to stop in and check it out. Saw it was limited seating or take out only, but decided to grab a chair and dine in. We ordered the chicken Satay and spring rolls, both apps were brought out pretty quickly. To our surprise, and a never seen before ever, the chicken Satay was more like a meal in it's self, including rice and Thai veggies which were great. The spring rolls and the sauce were great as well. I'd gladly come back again for the food.
I absolutely love this place! Their peanut sauce is easily the best I have ever had.
We were craving Thai food and found this little place. We looked at the menu and it had Tom Yum soup. My husband was really craving this so he ordered the Tom Yum soup with fish at Medium spice. I ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp. Both were delicious. The Tom Yum soup had a delicious flavor, but I couldn’t have eaten it that spicy. But my husband loved it - he said it rivals any Tom Yum he had in Bangkok. My pad Thai was delicious as well! The chef closes every mid-Feb to Early March to go back to Thailand. A great Thai restaurant!! Would definitely recommend!
I will not go here again. They have an old out of date menu online, yet when you show up to pick up the food, the price is more than doubled. They're fully aware of the situation and seemingly could care less and duped customers feel obligated to proceed with the inflated prices.
We ordered Pad Thai and Tom Yum with medium and mild spice level. It came with extreme spice. It was so hot that we actually couldn't finish the food. Very small dining area. Chairs are shaky
My husband and I could not eat. They are not Thai foods. They just decoration Thai style. I didn't finish my food just throw away. They should learn how to cook Thai food. I am Thai that why I can say they don't know how to cook Thai food.
Tom Kha is a lot of onion which Thai style we are not put onion, taste like water. And also very expensive with no plate just plastic container serve for Tom Kha Gai with plastic spoon with $14
Cheapest Thai food in town… for a reason. Good egg rolls, everything else is greasy and flavorless.
I love eating here. The service is outstanding and the food is always excellent. I really enjoy the tom yum soup and spring rolls. The peanut sauce is super-yum. I'm so happy we have this restaurant in Durango!
Weirdest pad Thai ever . Deep fried over cooked sliced chicken no sprouts no green onions no peanuts only weird yucky chicken and noodles
Won't be back
Best Thai food I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend! Enjoy!!!
This was absolutely the worst Thai food I have ever had. It was flavorless. My husband's pad Thai was sitting in a puddle of sauce. He said it was terrible and also had no flavor. It was an insult to Thai food.
Food was good. I ordered pad thai and shirimp fried rice. The restaurant was not a good place for dine in. The floor was so dirty and only high stools and chairs. Not a good place for children and old people who cannot climb a bar stool.
truly love this hole in the wall! the food never disappoints and neither does the service. eating here is seriously such a treat. TRY IT OUT!
MY family and I are passionate Thai food lovers. Every vacation spent anywhere we always try to taste all the Thai food. This was our first time in Durango and we wanted to try out this place. We ordered several dishes and disliked all of them. The spring rolls were very dry, cold, not good. Fried rice was ok but very bland. The most disappointing dish was the green curry, which we had high hopes for. Did not like it at all, the vegetable were not cooked well, very dry, no flavor. Sorry not sorry, never eating here again.
I’ve been a regular customer of Sizzling Siam for years. I think that time is up. Yesterday I ordered several dishes. One of the dishes was Spicy Basil FRIED Rice. In checking the order it clearly wasn’t what has been historically. When I brought it to the attention of the cashier, she offered no replacement. I didn’t have the time nor will to argue.
Goodbye Sizzling Siam. It was good until yesterday.
So close to having my favorite dish, why no Larb Pedt?
Been eating here since I moved from NM love it!!!
They will make you wait for your order long enough to get a ticket outside on your car. Never order for take out you'll be there for 30 to 45 min waiting.
Also anything you order. Is spicy. Even when you ask for it not to be
Its a far cry from when the president of Thailand came and gave it an award
My bill was like $60 for 2 entrees and 4 egg rolls. Oh and a $25 ticket
Minimal everything in tiny spot but food was actually very good..probably best thai in durango..spicy is very spicy..
Worst food I have ever eaten in my entire life .
You can do better
I rarely leave a bad review for any establishment. However, I was compelled to leave one for this restaurant. I have traveled to Thailand many times over my life and love Thai food. However, this restaurant surely disappointed me. The Thai curry dish with fish that I ordered was mediocre at best. The vegetables were not fresh & tasty, the rice seemed overcooked, I think it had two very small pieces of fish, and it lacked the true essence of Thai cooking.
EDIT:
I'm experiencing intestinal discomfort, it's been about 18 hours, I'm 100% sure it was from this meal.
Blandest Thai food ever! Really disappointed!!!
HOLY PRICE INCREASE!!!! i got the noodle soup....something i have gotten for YEARS. No meat, $14. I asked for extra veggies instead, and it was pretty much ALL NOODLES and broth. it was good, but def not worth that price
The food is okay but they just raised their prices 40%. I won't be back because the quality or amount of the food did not improve by 40 %.
The food (tom kha gai and pad see ew) was salty and not super flavorful, the quantity for the price was good.
Tried to overcharge me $10. Refused to give me a refund the first few times or give any compensation. Make sure your total is correct, the staff cannot do math.
Small homey place with quick service and amazing food! I usually hate bell peppers and onions but they make it taste so good 🤤
I had the tom yum and my friend got pad thai. Both were delish! Tom yum is soup and it comes with rice. Pad thai is noodles, and you choose your protein for both items. The amount of soup was gratuitous and it came in a to-go container, which was great because I only ate a third of it there. You can dine in but be aware that it is very small if your group is more than 2 or 3 people.
Wow! How rare to get authentic Thai food at Thai levels of spiciness (if you ask for it)! The real deal at bargain prices.
Best Thai food in town! A small shop bursting with authenticity, I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here. Large menu with lots of options to choose from.
One of my favorites ♥
One of my favorite restaurants! Really good food and really nice staff. Always will return for my favorites.
Food wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Pad Thai was watery and pretty much tasteless.
Amazing food and a budget friendly dinner spot in Durango!!
The worst rip off ever. I ordered #9... It is supposed to be a rice dish with chicken, bamboo and mushrooms.... Most of the dish contained glass noodles and rice. There were at the most 8 small pieces of chicken and a few slivers of bamboo... The photo shows what was left after I ate the little bit of chicken and some noodles.... delicious authentic!
Awesome. I lived in Thailand for 6 months and the Thai Spicy red curry from this place is the only place I’ve been in America where the spice level and ingredients are on par with what I got in Thailand. I spoke some Thai with the owners as well, so it’s definitely legit!
The family and their staff are awesome people and the food is awesome, you can't go wrong eating here but make sure you can handle the heat if you order Thai Spice
The best Thai food around, beautiful people, beautiful service.🖤
Really good pad thai for a good price!
super good, almost addictive
Great local lunch spot, great prices, great portions.
My favorite spot for authentic Thai food!
Nice little hole in the wall place. A little treasure trove of Asian food and culture tucked into the Main Street regularity. Good food, good service.
It's tiny, but I had no trouble getting in with my wheelchair.
Cute little that restaurant. Great for take out and find to eat in if you don't mind tight spaces.
The food is so so and takes forever. Totally don't recommend.
Try their #20. You will not regret it!! :) Everybody I know gets the pad thai, but sleep on the soup, it’s seriously the best.
Always good!!
I’ve eaten there since they opened and never had a bad experience. Keep up the good work
Always a pleasure coming here and my food is always hot and tasty
This is one of my all time favorite places to eat in town. The dishes are cooked and served within the same day and I have not had any problems. The food is fresh and delicious and served by staff that have passion towards their dishes. A great place to go with a friend and/or order to-go: if you have a big group, there is outdoor seating. Its a walk away from the other stores on main street and is a lovely little place to go to eat and relax. I recommend the Pad Khee Mao with chicken and a Thai Iced Tea.
The best Tom Kha Gai I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot!
It is OK. I ordered Pad Thai and it was average, more chicken than noodles, and almost no peanut. The flavor was fine but not as the others Pad Thai I've had in other Thai Food places somewhere else. Good prices
My first time here. Cute little place. Great service and food was Delicious. I’ll be coming back soon.
Always great!
Great egg rolls
It was awful. Those of you who thinks this place serve awesome so called Thai food must not have had the real home cooked thai food. I order a spring roll and got arice wrapped with only cabbage and carrots??? Where is the meat, bean sprouts, basil, noodles. That was totally rabbit food. All I have to say is that restaurant is a disgrace to Thai culture. Would never recommend. I can get a better spring roll at City Market, so sad!!!! Worst $6 ever spent!!!
Great place to eat & friendly service.
Addictive
I’m a big fan, there’s a lot of different options I doubt I could think of which I prefer. The only issue is you have to buy drinks by bottle/can and they only take cash. Nothing that would ever keep me from going though, always wonderful
The lemongrass and tom yum soup are amazing. The workers are nice. Best soup in town if you are trying to mend a cold.
I've been coming here for 6 years, they have the best service and food in town.
Authentic Thai food, with that heat!
อร่อยมาก
Good Thai food, and prices.
I used to live in Durango and this was my favorite Thai place. Was extremely dissappointed that they were closed by 6pm when the sign said 8pm. They lost a loyal customer.
"Thai spicy" doesn't usually kick my butt, but here, it did!!! Loved it. One bite of my dish made my girlfriend cry. Great portions (three meals worth for me out of my pad Thai).
It’s definitely more of a takeout restaurant than a dining-in which is what I did when I went. Felt as though the pad Thai was extremely sweet which kind of ruined the taste for me.
Soooooo Flavorful and Spicy! Nice enjoyable restaurant
Great food and service!
I love the #20 Tom kha gai
This is a terrible place. The food is okay (better Thai in CA) but the service is the worst. They get your order wrong all the time - we do take out. We had to learn to check before leaving. We ordered for 4 people, get home and they haven't labeled the containers. You place an order they don't take your name so when you go to pick up, you have to go through a series of questions so they can determine your order. Wacky!!!! So frustrating and the food's not that great to put up with the other stuff. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere!!!
Best Thai food in Durango.
Friendly staff can't quite make up for the super bland food and very basic ingredients. Never had a bowl of Tom yum soup made almost entirely of cabbage!
Luv the food..
Always excellent. Fast, delicious, inexpensive. Highly recommend. Get takeout unless you have 3 people or less, dining area is tiny!
Years ago, it was good. I am sorry to say that the general quality has declined. Greasy, bland, unsatisfying.
Best Thai I have had in years. Authentic, fast, inexpensive and friendly.
Very good and spicy pad Thai! I looove their food. If you ask for Thai spicy you'll be getting what you ask for. Finally a place with real spice!
Not much in the way of space or atmosphere but they make up for it with the authenticity of their dishes! Their Tom Ka and cutries are my favorites
Love this place! The best for thai
Best place to eat.
Wonderful ladies that work there and great food!
We usually call in our order for pick up, but sometimes we eat there. Great comfort Thai dishes, awesome prices, and filling. Watch out....the Thai hot is quite hot!
Thai-ish fast food. Pad thai was swimming in a sauce that didn't taste like pad thai and why did they put bean sprouts in it. Guwaitiow served in a big paper cup and they didn't have pepper. Plastic cutlery and you had to order by number as they didn’t know the names of the dishes.
Great food
Amazing!
I love the coconut curry.
They would not substitute on one dish and when I ordered a different one they added things not on the menu. Also way too spicy from what I asked for and I like spice. The girls in front were very unhelpful.
Local favorite. Great portions, great prices, great tastes. Perfect hole in the wall.
It's my favorite place in town - simple, spicy (I get medium but there are two levels above that!) and loads of food for under $10.
Fantastic! My go to place when i'm hungry for Thai food!
This restaurant has great food, great prices and it is the best thai food I have ever had! We came across Sizzling Siam by chance, and every time we go through Durango we stop to there! If you are looking for amazing thai food that is bursting with flavor, stop by Sizzling Siam!
Wonderful food. My family loves eating here.
MMmmmmmmmm, delicious! The only downfall is that they are closed on Sundays.
