Authentic Thai restaurant in North Hollywood! Family operated since 1978.
What happened!? I swear, it wasn’t like this a few months ago.
Vic’s Orange Chicken was legendary. They had their own spin on it, frying up a juicy filet before slicing it and tossing it in a homemade sauce. It came with fried rice, a leaf lettuce salad and a slice of orange.
Today, the fried rice is the only thing that seems even similar. Tyson/Sysco nuggets in a bland sauce?? Really?? Some bagged mixed salad? I know times are tough, ingredients are going up, but prices can be adjusted to avoid substantial drops in quality to flagship dishes. Long-time customers (my first visit to Vic’s was in 2005, been going since) don’t want generic restaurant supply nuggets hastily coated in a sauce, they want what they’ve been ordering regularly for over a decade! Please fix this, I want to be able to bring my friends to get food again like we always do!
Before and after pics included.
Pleasant & tasty chicken drunken noodles. A bit spicy (only the chili flakes were "zesty"). However, I had enough for leftovers to stretch it w/plain brown rice to help my digestion. I really loved the flavors.
This place is absolutely disgusting. We been going to Vics for over 20 years. We ordered the orange chicken and it was like microwaved nuggets dipped in some slimy sauce, very bland! Customer service is also horrible. I believe they changed ownership. Portions have changed to the point you get half the amount you use to get and prices are over $16 a plate. They lost a customer, not just one but a few. My entire family and I will never eat here again. Lady behind counter is also very rude and looks annoyed that you're in her presence. Save your money! There are many other good and reasonably priced thai spots out here in the valley.
Used to love coming here, but last week placed and order on the phone for a bbq pork plate and a drink. I was charged $25.65. Here is the thing… this is not a place or even food for a $26 price, I mean it’s a take out,… even the plate portion as you can see it’s smaller than it used to be, and the drink cost the same as before but almost half the size. And $2 for paying with credit card. I get prices of everything are going to the roof, but I remember paying like $17 for this same meal. I’ll take my business somewhere else, and i suggest you do the same. I’m pretty sure for that price range you can get better quality food elsewhere.
First time here. Unfortunately we didn't find the food worth a 2nd visit. Our shrimp fried rice a was dry and the rice was a bit hard, garlic shrimp was also below average, spicy fish and shrimp chowmein all the same. They all lacked flavor and tasted below average. Cooking time was also a bit longer than it should be. It was past lunch time, so I am not quite sure what took so long. Well, I have been driving around this tiny, street corner restaurant for many years and today I finally stopped to check it out. My food experience may not be a great one but they have been in business for almost 50 years. So, I am sure they have their own customer base who enjoys their cooking. My best wishes to the owner for serving the community for so many years.
When I live in the valley, and tried this place it was really good.
I came back to visit almost 10 years later and the food quality hasn’t changed much.
It’s still tastes similar but the service is awful.
Don’t know if I got the lady in the counter in a bad day or maybe that’s the way she is, but she could be nicer.
No greeting when you first show up and no thank you or have a nice day when you’re leaving.
Ordered the green curry, green pepper chicken and some pad see ew. All was good. The pad see ew could use a tastier sauce but still decent.
I can’t remember the service 10 years ago but I’ll think twice about coming back here when I visit the valley again.
The food is not the same
Vics is done for me..! Been a coming there since 2001..! I worked in the area and would go here regularly... the original owners sold it and moved to Nevada or New Mexico.. years ago.. ever since then... down hill.... New owners were family or friends and I would still recommend to everyone...! I moved away few years ago and would still stop by to take food home but now.. it's just no good..! Portions are not like before.. Quality gone down while prices gone up.... not worth it at all anymore...!
Pleasant & tasty chicken drunken noodles. A bit spicy (only the chili flakes were "zesty"). However, I had enough for leftovers to stretch it w/plain brown rice to help my digestion. I really loved the flavors.

There is no way this is the same great food that I've loved for the past 45 years. This was not Vic's recipes. If you have the original recipes go back
Great food, great portions.
Pan fried glass noodles 💯 good food pad see ew is good also
You’re not serious right? What did you even serve me??…
The worst food ever this is the 2nd time the dishes have gotten smaller and price doubled! I can live with that but I asked for extra Spicey I get home I ordered spicy shrimp mint leaves they skimmed on jalapeño peppers just two slivers & I order Tom yum shrimp soup it supposed to have lemon grass and Spivey peppers in it and ginger and lemony and extra spicy when you’re sick I get home the soup was just salty the skimped on all the ingredients no lemon grass no ginger it was pure salt and the spicy shrimp dish was sweet even though I asked for extra spicy and when call to ask what happened? They pretended they didn’t speak English saying closing 8:00 They understand English when I ordered and they took my money but when you complain they don’t. Real slick. I will never recommend this place they gauge you and the food was below par. Ugggh. Don’t go there you can make better food at home
I have been coming here for the last 20 years, since I was a kid and I have always had the same plates. The prices here are over the roof and I know for sure the amount on food on plates have decreased by a lot I know it because like I said it’s been 20 years. I was surprised to he charged $36 for 2 plates, I know everything has increased in prices but it would be nice to at least not lower the amount of food on the plate, if I will pay $18 per plate can I get at least the same amount please, I know the amount is not the same because even the plates have changed. Just something for the new management to consider.

I can’t believe item I’ve always ordered beef with noodles and rice has jumped more than a few dollars and less beef, noodles and rice. I won’t be going there.anymore. Almost 19.00 for a small plate. I could have gotten 2 plates of 3 item each of Chinese food for 16.50
I don’t know what happened to this place I’ve been given this place a handful of chances this year to come back, but They have a weird new menu that you order stuff from and they never have anything for example the korean bbq ribs? Or other stuff on that brand new menu outside .other than the old school plates, which I love by the way, but I think you change the chef ,the cook I don’t know, something is missing and I won’t be back till it’s back.its over priced if this is the quality you throw at me i don’t mind paying for good food but you’re not the same consistency or quality it used to be i spend about 30 dollars per person on food here …….Or you change cooks cause ….what happened to you vics💔
This is a roach infested restaurant. Never by anything from here.
Great spot. Been coming here for years. They serve alot of food with their combos. Perfect for the hearty appetite or for sharing.
I love their food, and have been coming for years.
This used to be a place I would go when I didn’t feel like paying for stuff like panda express or asian fast food at malls, but now with the panda express 2 entree plate clocking in at $11.28 with tax, I really can get myself to go here anymore. The food is meh, we all know that. We came here because it was cheap, that’s all
Great Thai food, needs improvement in customer service.
Cheap, good, and very large portions
I don't know what more you could want
Love this place

I ordered the Pad Thai and Eggrolls. They were both delicious! Definitely coming back.
Cashier baaad!!!! Service.
The person who takes the orders didn't really speak English. Didn't comprehend what you were ordering. Other food is extremely hot and spicy even when you Tell her no spice. They still put in spices and it's too hot to eat. None of the food tasted right. Maybe it's a new cook. Foods taste slimy very sad this place used to be excellent
Please open one un orange county
Chow mein and fried rice were way too oily for my linking :|
My son's favorite place
Please bring back the old vics. Bring back the old chefs. The fried rice doesn't taste the same neither does the BBQ pork fried rice. Please bring back the lunch combo #D. I'll pay more just for the old vics. Please.
Way to expensive now, prices on food and drinks are to much...
Been coming here for years....all their food is great! But, THERE IS NO PANANG BETTER THAN VIC'S!!
Edit:
Whoever is cooking the Penang now, doesn’t put enough sauce. Pls don’t mess up Vic’s legacy. He is known for the Penang, amounts many other foods here.
I've been coming to Vic's for over 35 years, Vic is no longer there and I just had the worst Thai food ever, so much salt it was not edible. I hate to write this review because I use to love eating here, but stay away and look somewhere else if you"re craving Thai food
Local favorite for at least 30 years!
The owners Vic and Sue are the best!❤️
Great food, large portions but $1 for extra dressing and $1 for soda refill? C'mon! How petty is that!
You know those days when you're on the road, and you're starving, you look for a place to eat in Google maps, you trust the reviews just to be disappointed... Well, this Thai food place qualifies for the worst Thai restaurant in the whole San Fernando Valley, food not tasty, inferior quality meat, grease to my surprise, and expensive for its low quality food and service... Literally, I got sick to my stomach after eating here
Been coming here my whole life and my dad's been going since he was 16 years old. This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time! I always get Pa Nang, so delicious! The beef and broccoli is a favorite.
Always a good value
Delicous food; it does take a while for the food to be finished order ahead of time to skip the wait
The best fried rice around. You don't go here for atmosphere you go here for good food. I've been going here for 40 years and will continue to return when I'm in the area. I recommend the beef teriyaki over fried rice.
This place came up on my yelp search so I decided to try it. And let me tell you by far some of the best BBQ pork fried rice I've ever had. I've been back 4 more time and everybtime I get the same plate BBQ pork over fried rice, food is delicious it's not so greasy its just perfect, and the price for the portion is just amazing!
I really wanted to like this place based on the reviews and the fact that it’s family owned. But honestly my experience wasn’t great. We ordered the Vic’s Combination and found that everything was charged separately, bringing our total to over $100 for three ppl 🥲 Along with this, they didn’t start our order until we got there. The food was subpar and under seasoned. I liked the flavour of the yellow curry, beef salad and fried rice. I wouldn’t go out of my way to try them again but maybe they were busy tonight!
Sad that Mr Vic's no longer preps the food, since he retired.
Now it's a hit and miss.
I still go there after more than 25 years.
Been coming here for 10 plus years. The chicken Panang was our favorite. The chicken Panang was dry! I’m not sure if it’s new ownership or new cooks but it does not taste the same! Definitely will be our last time going there and my little family are a bit sad cause we loved their chicken Panang.
The Tom Yum soup is probably some of the best I've had in LA
Love it.
The best Thai food in town!
I being coming here for over 30 years, and still the best !
First time here. Unfortunately we didn't find the food worth a 2nd visit. Poor service!
Been coming here for over 20 years
Me gusta mucho este lugar el thai te y el pacci yu de camarones es demasiado bueno 100 💯 ♥️ recommend
The food isn't the same after new ownership. The Beef Mint Leaves was our favorite thing to order. They no longer make it the same. They don't make it spicy any more and the flavor is missing. Sorry to say but this isn't my favorite Thai restaurant anymore. I really loved this place.
Service isn’t very great but our food was prepared fairly quick. We got the pad see ew and it was just ok, chicken needs more flavor and they need to make sure they take the bones out of the chicken. Not worth going back in my opinion

Ordered the green curry, green pepper chicken and some pad see ew. All was good. The pad see ew could use a tastier sauce but still decent.
I can’t remember the service 10 years ago but I’ll think twice about coming back here when I visit the valley again.
I was there last week and decided to go again today, you can never go wrong ordering here .large portions of food for a great price I highly recommended, I should have uploaded a photo right away but I was too hungry.
This place is good certain things are amazing and some ehh, seating area outside isn’t the best but it’s a nice spot to eat at
Love this place ❤️ for so many years, like new management and still same good food quality
La mejor Thai food Del Valle, muy bien recomendada 👍🏽
Been coming here since I was a little kid, I’m 18 now, and the food has always been top notch. Amazing food and staff.
It used to be my go to place for Thai Pang Curry, it was awful! Not coming back.
Nah it's over cooked and already nasty prepared. Dont order anything vegetarian its nasty tofu. If u like tofu these people dont know how to prep it and the beef is very questionable. My coworker was being nice and bought me food from here. But it looks like dog food I couldnt eat
This is a great hole in the wall place to eat. The food is fresh and tastes amazing.
Have enjoyed Vic's for many years and still do. Very good food.
Me and bf always use to go to Vic’s my favorite used to be Chicken fried rice and there orange chicken/chow main. But for the fee months there food does not taste the same and young girl there is rude answering the phone saying hold on and has you waiting while she takes other other’s does say please hold never going back there we are done with giving them chance…
im 17. i have lived in the area my entire life with my family who's lived here since the 70s and have been coming here ever since. my grandpa knows the owner and his family and have his orders totally memorized. if u want just a solid place to get some easy food, vics is it. its nothing fancy, yes there is cement seating, etc. but what do u expect we r in NORTH HOLLYWOOD for pete's sake this isn't the hamptons! but i will always love this place from the bottom of my heart and how nicely they have treated my family and grandpa over the years. hes going to be 90 this year and they still write him nice notes on his plates/bags since he cant drive there himself anymore. on a relevant note, the pan fried glass noodles is amazing (i am a picky eater so simple rice + meat/noodle dishes r my go-to's) and my grandpas favorites are their beef fried rice and their burgers. egg rolls r TO DIE FOR and the only ones i personally will eat at all. mom loves their grilled cheese sandwich w/ fries when shes feeling nostalgic, and u can't go wrong w/ a cold cup of thai tea. vics is the thai version of in-n-out when u come to the area, anyone who used to live here that has moved ALWAYS comes back for vics every now and then.
God awful. Went there around 5:00 pm. Ordered quite a few items. Took about 15 minutes. The sweet and sour pork tastes and looks like it’s covered in ketchup. The Tom Yum Khai soup is super sugary sweet. The Pad Thai is bland and was served with a brown rotten lime cut in half. The panang curry is also very bland. The steamed rice looks like day old rice.
About two hours after we ate, most of us had stomaches.
Would definitely never recommend.
Amazing food and always friendly service. Panang chicken and beef mint leaf are a go to! My family and I have been ordering food here since I was young and even after moving away we still stop by to pick up food whenever we are in town.
Very unfortunate experience after a one year break. Vic's place was marked with a "Heart" on my GoogleMaps, not anymore. My favorite Tom Kha Soup changed the recipe and whatnot and it doesn't taste the same sweet&sour&spicy anymore, mostly sour and blank overall. Also ordered Panang Curry with rice and when I opened the box I saw that the very little amount of curry was absorbed by the enormous quantity of rice, so the dish itself ended up being dry, and it wasn't regular taste of Panang Curry either. Their only advantage at this point is huge portions, but the wait time was 30 minutes for me with only few customers waiting, clearly it wasn't a rush hour. It made me sad, honestly, 'coz I used to like it.
My favorite is the Chicken Panang (no chili)! I order almost every week.
Delicious and large portions, food is served piping hot… super yummy but they didn’t ask how spicy I wanted it n I didn’t think it would be as spicy as it was (and i love spicy food)
CHANGED OWNERSHIP…. Totally different.
Food does NOT taste the same except for the Chow Mein. Other soups and Thai dishes were off.
I love that they fill up your plate with large portions! I now have a new go to Thai food spot!
Big portions food is affordable
Good prices and food
Vic's dishes out solid, mostly Asian choices via a fast food window counter setup. The #4 BBQ Pork Over Fried Rice dish is outstanding! Another highlight is #16 Mint Leaves, the heat level is on point! I'm also fond of the generous portions they provide and how I can always rely on a speedy turnaround time with my orders; tip: call yours in.
I've been going there for years. The food is great. I love it.
Good food. Wouldn't recommend to eat there the wind and sun hit to rough. Family of 4 can eat with $50.00.
I went with normal expectations. I ordered a broccoli and chicken with no rice dish. It was ok. It was more like soup than a meat vegetable dish. Bland and it needed some hot sauce. Asked for red hot chili paste and then asked for dry chili and got a bad attitude. Later when I asked for a couple of napkins I got more attitude and asked for 2 and she argued with me on giving me 2. When I add chili, I have to blow my nose often and need as least a few. I haven’t been to a place where they argue over a napkin. Awful experience. Stay away and I don’t recommend a place when you spend $15 to sit outside on cement benches like a hot dog shack.
Very disappointed considering the rating. I ordered the chicken pad thai...it was dry, stiff and flavorless. I tried to pick up a few noodles and the entire plate of noodles came up with it. Threw it away. I drove all the way to siam rice ii in santa Clarita to make up for it.
I honestly feel that this establishment used to be amazing I don't know if they've been taken over by new ownership but this is not the same place I grew up with. I asked a woman if they have any plates and she looked at me like I was crazy I asked her if I could have a couple extra food containers to use this place and she's gave me one and said sorry can't give you any more after we spent $65
Good always go there when we are near the area
I love this place! The chicken and shrimp fried rice is amazing! You gotta try the Tai Iced tea!👍🏽😊
Roommate wanted to take me here. Very limited patio seating only...It's a take out place after all...She raves about the chicken fried rice.
I had Thai Chop Suey, and War Wonton Soup.
Soup was great, Chop Suey not so much. I don't like those little baby corns..(Dog will get those, and the Shrimp tails) Shrimp didn't appear real fresh, but was edible...Since it is so far from home, I probably will not go back, but...I would like to try the combo fried rice...I also had a Thai Iced Tea. It was Uber sweet...
Been going here for over 30 years!! Always fresh and delicious!
Good but not great. I ordered the Chican Larb and it wasn't as spicy or flavor full as other places.
Ove this place
way to much food!!!
Chicken pad thai was actually really good and the portions are huge.
Had chicken Pai Thai which was hot, and tasted delicious. Price is average, around $10 up, and portion is a good amount, but I wouldn't recommend this place because after eating half of the food, I drove home about 20 minutes away, and had the worst episode of DIARRHEA!! Would not recommend..also, the place didn't look very clean either, which usually is an indication, not always, but in this case, I think the food wasn't properly handled.
I'm being gone to the restaurant for years and years and the food is still good
The food is the best regardless of price. I have been coming here for over 36 years. It's nothing fancy just good food. You must try it and see.
The food is sooooo good!
Awesome Thai and Chinese food, never disappoints.
I've been eating here since the mid 80's & am always very satiated! The spicy chicken w/green beans or chicken panang is AWESOME!
The best food in the valley..been going here for the last 40 years..i bring friends and the become lifers after eating at VICS..
Authentic, Very Polite.
When I met my husband in '07. He took me to Vic's. We never eat anywhere else. Now 12 years later on my daughter's birthday. She requested Thai food. We usually share amongst us. But today she had her own. A big portion and still delicious.
One of my favorites thai food 👌
I had been coming to this place since 09 but I hadn't been in a couple of years and bragged about it to my husband so much he finally decided to try it out and its amazing as always! He was very impressed and is very hard to please when it comes to take out. So that says a lot.
The best food on the planet. Seriously. Not only the best thai food..... the best food. Been going there for years.
Love this place👍
The food is the best
I like coming here from time to time food is always delicious
I have been going to Vic's since it opened. Great food.
Rica comida china
Their food is really really really good I actually enjoy the food
For over 30 years...#18B w/side of egg rolls, well done and extra sauce for the egg rolls...Has never disapointed
First time and the last one! Got the lunch combo. Orange chicken tasted like the meat was spoiled the broccoli beef sauce didn't taste good too. I know it's tough times but I don't deserve this kind of food ( almost $13 for the combo) I went there for the reviews, wrong choice!!!
There best BBQ pork fried rice and salt and pepper shrimp. Ive been going here since 2004 and keep coming back!
Best Thai food outside Thailand
Not good today
Great food at a reasonable price
Delicious Thom Ka Gui
Thai Boba Tea was also tasty!
Promptly prepared too.
Go here often on cheat meal days, always great service and portions! Highly recommend the Pannang!
Been coming here for over 20 years food is always great but mostly get tereaki beef over fried rice can never get past that even though they have a large menu
Vic's Food To Go
I am a huge fan of Tom Kha soup (coconut soup) and I have tried it so many Thai restaurant around LA. This place has THE BEST Thai food in the valley! They actually have soup packed with vegetables and tofu and the broth is flavorful and perfect. Other places just give you a watery soup with almost nothing in it. And the prices are REALLY CHEAP!
Delicious
The best place to grab a quick bite after work. Go here for the takeout, it's tasty and delicious. Easily one of my favorite spots to grab a classically LA style Thai/american/Chinese meal.
The best Thai food in the valley
Love this place been eating here since 1994.. great amazing food, & the owners!
Great dining experience.
I've been coming to this place for 39yrs.
Affortable, Big servings, and tasty!! It's pretty much a to go place. You need to order for pick up or order ahead of time because you'll definitely wait awhile if you order on the spot. Definitely not recommending it for a date spot. It's basically an outdoor environment.
Overall I love the food though, it's cheap and very authentic.
